^Hmm, I think it's very unlikely that sales can ''surpass 2 million'' for the album.  Frankly, it will be a miracle if they can sell out the 1.5 million shipped.  But hopefully sales will top 1 million which will still be amazing.

After I saw jul3's post, I thought for a second that the album has sold 1.5 million copies

Whoa, the sales of 2nd day drastically fell (by 557,282), more than that of 2nd day sales of Koko ni Ita Koto (222,173), but it's good thing that the 3rd day sales doesn't drop much from the previous day. I'm sure this will continue to sell well and reach million copies.

AKB48’s latest album “1830m” which was released on August 15th, sold 871,000 copies in the first week, topping Oricon’s weekly album chart.

This marks AKB48 as only the second female group to have an original album sell over 800,000 copies in its first week, and this is the first time in 14 years and 4 months after SPEED’s “RISE” which sold 1,318,000 copies in the first week (released in April 1998).  Moreover, this is the first album in 3 years and 8 months to sell over 800,000 copies during the first week including both male and female artists as EXILE’s best album “EXILE BALLAD BEST” sold 944,000 copies in its first week back in December of 2008.

This is also the third album for AKB48 to top the chart, and it’s their best first week sales for an album.

AKB48’s latest album tops Oricon weekly album chart 2 weeks in a row

Popular idol group AKB48’s latest album “1830m” (released on August 15th) has topped the Oricon weekly album chart for the week of September 3rd, making it the first time that the group has topped the weekly chart two weeks in a row.

It was also the first time in 9 years since an album by a female group topped the weekly chart for two consecutive weeks since 12 Girls Band’s instrumental album “Joshi Juni Gakubou~Beautiful Energy~.”

Adding this week’s sales, “1830m” has now sold total of 935,000 copies. A significant feat as it’s been 9 years and 8 months since a female artist’s original album has sold over 900,000 copies within two weeks since the release day, with Hamasaki Ayumi being the last to achieve the feat with her album “RAINBOW.”

This was the last album for Maeda Atsuko, who just graduated from the group as a member.

I got this a,bum a few weeks ago, but never got around to posting about it...
It's really good! I love all the songs!
Especially, Avacado Janee Shi, Omoide no Hotondo, Hate, Guu guu Onaka ( ), and of course Plastic no Kuchibiru. 
I didn't expect Mariko to get that kind of solo song, something rock-ish seemed like it would suite her more but I really like the song! I sounds kind of Perfume-ish.
And Guu Guu Onaka is so frickin' cute~~~
Oh! And I got Saya-nee's photocard.

Overall totally awesome album! And totally worth every penny of it!

AKB48’s latest album “1830m” sells over a million copies

Popular idol group AKB48’s 4th album “1830m” has now reached a total sales of 1,002,000 copies after 5 weeks since its release.  Though 9 of AKB48’s singles have reached sales surpassing the million mark, this is AKB48’s very first album to sell over a million copies ever since their major debut back in October 2006.

It was also the first time in a year and 11 months for an original album to have sales over a million copies since Arashi achieved it with their “Boku no Miteiru Fuukei” (released in August 2010, total sales of 1,131,000 copies) back in October of 2010. As for female groups, it’s been almost 9 years since 12 Girls Band’s “Joshi Juni Gakubou~Beautiful Energy~” last achieved this in October 2003, total sales of 1,661,000 copies.

AKB48 has released 3 singles in the year, and all of them are millon-selling singles.  To sell over a million copies for both single and album within the same year have not been achieved in 10 years since it was last accomplished by Hamasaki Ayumi back in 2002 with her single “H” (released in July 2002, total sales of 1,013,000 copies) and album “I am…” (released in January 2002, total sales of 2,308,000 copies).
