Summary [Update 13/9/15]:
It is a supernatural fic. Initially it is meant to be for fun but as my style gradually change this fiction's plot changed and becomes heavy. So I guess you can expect some good fun (based on my writing style) from this. This will contain MULTIPLE pairings, lol. ~Scene I: The Silver Wolf Boy~
Ohayou! I’m Kashiwagi Yuki, a plain ordinary student, enjoying her ordinary life. I attend this school in Tokyo, along with my childhood friend who would soon appeared eventually. She seemed to have like a GPS on me, she could always manage to find me no matter what, and even I didn’t tell her! She’s a very weird friend. There’s where my hectic life starts…

“Yukirin~”
A boyish-looking girl running towards Yuki and wrapped her arms around the tall girl. “I miss you!”
“Mou Jurina…we just met last night.”
“But it had been over 9 hours!”
“Hai hai…” Yuki chuckled softly with how Jurina was acting so childish with her, even though Yuki just a year older than her.
“Hmm…” Jurina stared at her. “You looked tired, are you?”
“A little actually. I don’t know why, I couldn’t sleep that tightly yesterday.”
“Mou! Bad Yukirin! You probably sleep late again!”
She started to complain again, it’s her usual thing. Yuki had a fragile body and weak health since she was a kid, and Jurina was her childhood friend ever since she could remember. Jurina could be like a kid but an older sister that always look after her 24/7 from all threats…sometimes it got to the point Yuki thought she’s a stalker.
“Grr…something’s not right…”
Jurina looked around and sensed something odd in the atmosphere. It made Yuki wondered what’s she feeling. “Eh…what’s a matter Jurina?”
“Hmm, nothing~” She changed the topic instead to not worry Yuki, making herself look more suspicious. But then Yuki knew that there’s no point of forcing Jurina to say because she wouldn’t.

They both headed to school before they would be late. Unfortunately, they’re both in different class. As Yuki got into her classroom, the guys came to greet her immediately…it had become annoying lately since she entered high school. She couldn't escape the fact of being popular among guys and girls due to her beauty. Yuki had two close friends in the same class as her, Asuka and Aki. They’re her friends since junior high and they’re always together ever since then.
“Akicha~ Mocchi~” Yuki called my friends in a twisted tone that it made both of them stumbled.
“Did something happen? You’re lively today.” Aki questioned but then she just gave a shrug.
“Are you drunk?” Asuka asked and made Yuki pouted.
“Mou! I’m not. I’m still 16! Jeez…”
Aki started to poke my cheeks with that evil smile. “Aw~ Yukirin’s sulking again.”
“No I’m not!”
“Do you want to go grab some snacks?” Asuka questioned up again and it caught both their attention. Their growling stomach sure needed refill of food.
“Yeah…I guess we should go before it’s all gone!”
Yuki suggested as they headed to cafeteria immediately to grab a bite of snacks. After our school was over, she decided to go help Asuka-chan with her librarian work by arranging the books properly during after school time. Jurina was in a naginata club right now, so she had time to stay late today to do some volunteer work while waiting for her.
“Yukirin, thanks for your help!” Asuka thanked Yuki as she made Asuka’s job much easier.
“Don’t worry, I’m glad to help.”
After we worked for a while, Asuka checked her cellphone in her bag but it wasn’t there. She looked all over the place in the library that it could possibly be but it didn’t. So she decided to go back to her classroom to see whether her phone would be there or not. “Oh, I’ll be back, I forgot my cellphone from my classroom…”
“Okay, I’ll look over the stuffs here.”
“Thanks! I’ll be back as soon as I can.”
Yuki decided to stack up the books properly on the shelf while waiting for Asuka to come, but it did take so long for her to come back… It started to make me wondered and as she turned to look at the door, she saw this mysterious boy with a childish grin, but creepy at the same time. At first, she thought he was some student, but then realized it again…he wasn’t in the student uniform at all.
“Hello~”
It freaked Yuki out as she turned to this mysterious man. “H-Huh!?”
“I’m talking to you there~”
She nodded weakly and felt really creepy about this man that suddenly just appeared and talked to her. “Uh…is there anything I could help you?”
Suddenly, he made this weird sound that Yuki couldn't tell what it was. He just tilted his head to the side and had that weird stare at her. “Purr…I guess there’s one~”
She gulped and stepped back a little, but then it caught the man’s attention and this time she walked in closer to her. He sniffled and then a huge grin appeared across her face. Yuki felt really uneasy and my instinct was telling me to run away.
“W-Who are you…?”
“Ah right! I should introduce myself right? I’m Oshima Yuko, but please just call me Yuko~” He gave her this suspicious grin as he approached in closer to Yuki. “By the way, what’s your name little princess?”
“Uh…it’s Kashiwagi Yuki.”
“Yuki…I see. That’s a nice name~” He walked in closer to her and grabbed her hand out of the sudden. Yuki tried to pull it back but her strength was just ridiculous! She couldn’t resist that grasp and then he brought it up to kiss her hand softly. “Finally I had found you…”
“E-Eh?”
“From now on, you’ll become mine.” A huge smile slowly appeared clearly across his face. Those eyes, it started to glow brightly in yellow. His stare made her mind stumbled and froze. His hair slowly changed color from black to silver…He revealed his fangs and licked it with his tongue. Yuki’s body couldn’t react to that at all and my mind just felt like going blank. He moved in closer to her neck and she don’t understand why her body wasn’t resisting at all…her body was just trembling and couldn’t even function properly…
~VOOOM~
Suddenly, Yuko backed off as this familiar human came to save her. Yuki recognized the back of that person, it was my best friend. “J-Jurina…!”
“Yukirin! Are you alright?”
Jurina turned to look at her at the corner of her eye and then Yuki started to realize, she was holding this white naginata. “So that stingy presence this morning is you!”
“Ah? I got caught? That’s sad…but what could you do to stop me, human?” Yuko mocked Jurina as his eyes were glowing brightly in yellow. The uneasy and pressure in the atmosphere started to increase even more.
“Get lost…archangel.”
“Hell no.” Jurina retorted back immediately. “Get lost! You DOG!”
“I’m not a dog! I’m a prideful Grande Silver Werewolf!” Yuko pouted as he crossed his arms behind his head. “Give Yuki to me.”
“No.”
“Why? She’s mine!”
“No she’s not!!”
“Yes she is! She’s my wife-to-be!”
“NEVER she is yours to begin with! Filthy dog!”
“You immature archangel brat! Get lost!”
“OH GUYS JUST SHUT UP!”
Yuki broke the argument instantly with her yell, it made both Jurina and Yuko froze instantly. “Stop arguing already…what the hell is going on…explain!”
“W-Well…” Jurina turned to her best friend with nervousness in her eyes.
“Basically you’re my wife Yuki-chan~” Yuko replied with that childish grin across his face but she didn’t buy it at all. Yuki sighed and it seemed the werewolf boy realized something and stared at her with suspicion in his eyes. “Hm…don’t tell me you didn’t know about this?”
“Know what? I’m just an ordinary student…” She replied and it made Yuko surprised. “Did I say something wrong?”
“Hehe~ this makes things more fun!” Yuko giggled and then she could feel a surge of intimidating aura coming from him. “I’ll take you with me…”
“Never I would allow that!” Jurina pointed her white naginata at Yuko and suddenly white wings appeared from her back.
Yuki couldn’t believe what she was witnessing and then they both clashed with each other. Yuko tried to slash Jurina with her claws but then the archangel guarded with her naginata. Then she swung her weapon and created a sonic wave towards Yuko. It destroyed the bookshelves in the library but Yuko was unharmed, since he dodged the wave safely. He ran in and tried to grab onto Jurina to pin her down on the ground but failed. The angel kicked him right into his stomach and made him flinched. Luckily he landed on the ground on his feet so Jurina didn’t have a chance to strike him down at all.
“Hehe~ Not bad…archangel.” The wolf boy mocked Jurina.
“I’m not a guardian for nothing…” She clutched onto her naginata more tightly.
Yuko had great ears; he heard footsteps and commotions coming closer to the library due to his battle with Jurina. He wouldn’t want to risk exposing himself to the humans. He took a step back and shrugged his shoulder. The demonic tension from Yuko slowly vanished away.
“…Hm, I guess I’ll leave just for now.” His eyes returned back to normal and now he just looked like a human. He turned to Yuki and gave a wink to her. “Bye, my princess~”
“Don’t ever come back.” Jurina grumbled at him but he completely ignored her.
He waved at them before he exited the library before any humans would catch him. Jurina looked at the mess she created and used the powers from her white naginata to repair the damages instantly, like nothing happened. She slowly kept her wings and she landed back on the ground once again, the naginata dissolved into thin air and then she turned towards Yuki.
“Ah…Uh…”
“I need to hear this.”
Yuki demanded and gave that dark glare at Jurina, which made her froze instantly. No way Jurina could disobey Yuki when she had that murderous stare like that. She nodded softly like an intimidated puppy and surrendered to her master. “Good.”

A/N: I’m just bored, want to write a relaxing fanfic + supernatural one. Haha. Going to be loads of random stuffs going on, so I hope it's a stress relief + entertaining fic! :bow:
Scene II: Black-Winged Keeper
Back at Yuki’s room, Jurina was sitting on the ground trembling in fear as the Yuki turned into her black mode. She was threatening Jurina to spill out everything that she had to know.
“E-Eh…w-where should I start first…”
“Who is Yuko-san and how did you have those wings?” Yuki asked and it made Jurina gulped, she sighed out softly and started to explain to the black princess.
“He’s a werewolf…and I’m an archangel, whom was your guardian.”
“So…you’re a non-human?” Yuki frowned as she asked back.
“I’m actually a half archangel…my body is originally a human, but I was chosen by the higher ups in heaven to become your archangel guardian.” Jurina elaborated her situation but then it didn’t stop Yuki from shooting more questions at her.
“So why is Yuko-san after me?” Yuki asked and it made Jurina sighed once again, the archangel didn’t want to explain this but she wasn’t left any choice but to tell her what she knew.
Yuko, and definitely other non-human creatures would be coming after Yuki, because she’s not an ordinary human. According to Jurina, she wasn’t told the reason why those non-humans were going after Yuki but then it seemed there was a crisis going on among the non-human community and with Yuki’s special power, it would help restore their clan.
“My powers…?”
“Your power to heal, remember?” Jurina reminded her best friend once again and it made Yuki realized it. She did have this special power since she could ever remember. “That’s what they wanted from you, the angels said that you’re a reincarnation of goddess of life, but I don’t know anything in detail, my job is to protect you from them. ”
“…”
“I-I’m sorry Yukirin…I hope to tell you more, but that’s all I know but I’m just a guardian…” Jurina looked down on the floor with guilt and then the princess crouched down to stroke her head gently. “Yukirin…”
“I think I pretty much get what’s going on, so what about this wife thing that Yuko-san said…” Yuki questioned and the look on Jurina’s face told her that she knew what the werewolf boy meant.
“Say it.” She demanded.
“W-Well…the angels told me that in order for non-humans to restore their clan back to prosperity…they need to make child with the goddess of life, which is you.”
Jurina ruffled her head and then she could see Yuki froze after her friend told her the truth. The archangel stared at her friend but she wasn’t moving an inch. “Eh…Yukirin?”
“EH!? A-Are you serious!?” Yuki’s exaggerating reaction appeared and her eyes appeared like to be gushed out. She couldn’t hold back her shock and shook her head around with consecutive sighs. “Ugh…Why weird things always happen to me!”
“I-I’m sorry!” Jurina apologized quickly.
“Oh jeez Jurina it’s not your fault.” Yuki replied and sighed once more. “Let me go have a walk for a minute…ALONE too.”
“B-But outside is dange--…” Jurina didn’t continue as she received a glare from Black, one of Yuki’s alternate personas. The princess left the room immediately and left Jurina there alone. “…rous?”
“Mou…I guess that’s a lot for just one day.” Jurina sighed softly with worries. “I’ll follow her secretly then.”

Yuki was walking alone along the street in her area, heading to this convenience store to buy some sweets to eat in order to calm her down. She grabbed some ice cream and continued her walk, and then she arrived at the park.
“Nyah…”
“Hm?” The voice caught Yuki’s attention and it was an injured cat lying beside the tree. “Ah…you’re injured?”
“Nyah…”
“Let me help you.” Yuki sat down beside the cat and put her hand above it’s head. The vague green sparkling aura was formed around her hand and slowly flowed towards the injured cat. Its wounds and scars slowly healed up in extreme speed. Just few seconds, the wounds were completely healed. “There you go.”
“Nyah~”
The cat ran away as Yuki looked at it from behind silently before she stared back at her own palm. “So just because they want this power?” She recalled what Jurina told her about Yuko-san and other non-humans that would try to capture her to make her their bride in order to restore the prosperity of their clan. It’s not that she wanted this power either to begin with, after she realized about this gift she had, her body had grown weaker and weaker, maybe it was a side-effect of this healing powers she had.
“Ah~ Finally we’ve found you!” A group of thugs came up to her with a very suspicious look on their face. “Do you want to come with us?”
“…Not interested.” Yuki replied back immediately but then those boys spread out to corner her around. “Let me go.”
“Nope~ until we take you to our leader…” The man smirked as he revealed his burning red eyes and fangs. They were non-humans, they knew who Yuki was and they’re trying to abduct her to their leader. “Come with us, princess!”
“N-No!”
“Then you leave us no choice…”
Suddenly, Yuki could feel the surge of dark intimidating aura from the red-eyed man, but before he had a chance to leap in towards her, he suddenly fell onto the ground with this huge cute across his back. It made everyone surprised, including Yuki, as there was this tall man that joined the scene.
“W-Who are you!?” The injured demon muttered but the man didn’t reply anything. His eyes were extremely cold and silent that even made Yuki felt terrified a little. “Attack him!”
Everyone dashed towards him but then his expression didn’t change a bit. He disappeared and just appeared again right behind everyone.
“G-Gah!” Everyone got attacked by a mysterious weapon and gave them countless wounds across their body. “Y-You…!”
“Leave.” He uttered and created this huge tense atmosphere around him that pressured those non-humans that tried to capture Yuki. They had decided to retreat and left Yuki with this mysterious man that saved her. He turned to her and approached her closely. Yuki closed her eyes tightly with fear but then realized again, the man was stroking her head gently.
“Are you injured?”
His voice was very gentle and calm. Yuki looked back up at the tall man and she could see the calmness in his pure black orbs, yet it was also quietly gentle. “Glad that you’re alright. Do be more careful next time…I believe that duke’s minions started to move.”
She looked up towards the guy and spoke something that Yuki didn’t really understand much. “Thank you, uh…”
“Everyone calls me Ren.” He replied and it made me smiled back to him.
“I see, thank you Ren-san.”
But before any of their conversation would continue, suddenly, a wind shockwave flew towards the man and caused Ren to be surprised. “…!”
An archangel finally appeared and stood in between Yuki and the mysterious man. “Glad that I made it on time…”
“Jurina?” Yuki got confused since Jurina was in her archangel mode, her wings were visible as well as her white naginata. “W-Wait! Why are you in that form!?”
“You managed to hide your non-human aura from me…you’re really something.” Jurina uttered as she pointed her naginata at the man that saved Yuki. “Who are you? Spill it, non-human.”
“E-Eh?” Yuki was shocked to learn that the Ren wasn’t a human.
“I didn’t have any intention to harm Kashiwagi-sama…” He replied and he actually knew Yuki’s name as well. It made Yuki surprised and realized that this man was the same as Yuko. “I, the headmaster of Black Tengu clan…Matsui Ren, it is honored to meet with you Kashiwagi-sama.”
“Black-winged Tengu…I heard quite a lot of stories regarding you.” Jurina uttered softly. “The black guardian were known to protect peace in human world, yet, you’re after Yukirin as well…”
Ren looked away with that calm emotionless expression before he turned back to them. “I wouldn't allow anyone to harm Kashiwagi-sama. Our clan protects humans, and no matter what I will always protect her from all dangers.”
“But still, you seek her for powers, don’t you?” Jurina pushed right into the main point of the subject. “You’re no different from that werewolf…”
“There isn’t a choice for our clan either…” He couldn’t deny the truth that he’s just the same as Yuko, which his objective was to take Yuki as his bride. “Don’t mistake me with that low filthy werewolf, and if I could avoid hurting Kashiwagi-sama…I would choose that path.”
“…You’re such a weird tengu.” Jurina lowered her defense down a little. “You don’t seem to have interest in taking Yukirin away.”
“...” He remained in silence before he decided to walk away.
“W-Wait!” Yuki called him and made Ren stumbled. “Ren-san…thank you for saving me back there.”
“…I’ll always protect you, Kashiwagi-sama.” He had that vague smile across his face before he disappeared into thin air, only what was left was a single black feather.
Yuki started to realize that this was something that she couldn’t really escape from. Too many supernatural things happened and she had no choice but to believe, and live with it.
“…” Yuki sighed loudly, entering her Black mode. She just stumbled away. “Mou! This is so annoying! I’m going home!”
“A-Ah! Yukirin wait for me!” Jurina ran after her master as they were heading back towards their home together.
Yuki sighed again softly as she recalled her encounter with Yuko and Ren. She just wanted a simple ordinary life like any other people would have. However, she couldn’t escape from her faith, but despite all of that, she didn’t seem to be aware of the consequences of that would happen from now on…

It had been a week since Yuki had encountered many odd things in her life…such as archangel, wolf, and tengu. After a normal life was given back to her for a week, she felt like those experiences were just a dream, but that would be too arrogant to simply neglect that.
Yuko: Basically you’re my wife Yuki-chan~
Ren: …I’ll always protect you, Kashiwagi-sama.
Yuki’s head felt like exploding as those series of events that occurred to her replayed in her mind. She just wanted a normal ordinary life, but it didn’t seem she would get that so easily…
“Ugh…I want a normal life…”
“Yukirin! Are you okay? You look sick.” Jurina crouched down beside my table. I made an eye contact with her as she stared at me with curiosity. She tilted her head to the side and blinked like a cute puppy. “Yukirin~?”
“It’s nothing Jurina…I’m just a little tired.” She replied to her archangel guardian. She couldn’t deny reality when there was a non-human right beside her right now.
“Everyone! Go back to your seats!”
The teacher had come in and dropped all her books onto the table. It seemed she had some announcement for everyone as well. “We’re having a new student joining us today! Do welcome him properly.”
The door slid open and the handsome boy entered the room. It’s like his aura was emitted from him that caught everyone’s attention immediately especially girls in the room. They were literally staring and almost drooled upon his charisma. Yuki didn’t seem to be affected by his aura at the slightest, but something in her guts was feeling weird. He seemed to catch her attention in some ways…
“Ohayou minna~ I’m Miyazawa Sae! Nice to meet you!”
“Nice to meet you~!” The girls in the whole class except Yuki replied in unison. Kashiwagi girl threw her glance all over the room and could even see Asuka and Aki fangirling on the transferred student.
“Oh…it’s only me?”
Yuki looked back at the black board and could see Sae making a short eye contact with her before he diverted his glance away. Even it was a short while; that caught her attention immediately. She wondered why she’s feeling uneasy in the guts somehow…

Arrows struck right at the bull’s eye of the target standing away in the middle of the archery field. Then again, the ikemen boy pulled his arrow and aimed at another target. It hit right at the bull’s eye again and this time the girls screamed even louder.
“Kyah~! Sae-kun kakkoi~!!!!”
He smiled and winked at the girls. All of them screamed in unison and Yuki couldn’t help but to stared without feeling creepy. She was dragged to see Sae because of Asuka and Aki who got so hooked up with this handsome transferred student. Just in few days after he joined the archery club, he became famous instantly…however, the only person that didn’t seemed to be affected by his amazing charm would be Yuki...
“Yukirin~” Jurina came skipped towards her friend and threw her arms around the taller girl’s waist. “What are you doing here? I was looking for you!”
“I got dragged by Mocchi and Akicha to come watch the transferred student.”
“Eh? Who?”
Jurina didn’t know and Yuki thought that everyone in the whole school would know about this handsome boy already. It seemed she was wrong. Yuki pointed towards the crowd where the girls were screaming, so she decided to have a peak and then saw the handsome boy landing another hit at the bull’s eye again.
“Oh! He’s good! Who is he?”
“…Well, I’m glad you’re not affected by his charm too.” Yuki sighed with relief. At least there’s someone who wasn’t affected by Sae’s charm and that was her archangel friend, Jurina.
“Hm?” The puppy girl was still confused but Yuki didn’t even bother to give a full explanation to her friend…

Few days later… Sae walked up to Yuki’s table and caught her off guard. She didn’t expected that coming and his energetic smile was sure very appearling and attractive.
“Yuki-san, do you mind I have a minute with you?”
“Hm? What is it?”
She looked up and then the boy suddenly knelt down in front of her and made her flinched back. Other girls were staring with confusion and curiosity until he looked up to Yuki again. “H-Huh? Sae-san??”
“Yuki-san…no, Yuki, will you be my girlfriend?”
~KYAHHH!!!!!~
For god’s sake Yuki could swear that her eardrums were about to shred apart after the most handsome boy in the school was asking her to be his girlfriend. But apparently unlike any other girls…Yuki wasn’t attracted to him, but instead she felt some chill down her spine every time he was around her.
“I…I’m sorry. I didn’t see you in that way.”
All girls in the classroom screamed and were downright jealous with the raven girl. Yet she rejected Sae’s proposal. The girl swore that she saw a vague smile across Sae’s face, did he expected a rejection to be coming? Then yet why he bothered to even ask Yuki to be his girlfriend?
“I see…but I’ll wait! I really like you Yuki…if you don’t mind me calling you like that?”
“I-I guess it’s fine if you want…”
“You can just call me Sae, just cut out the formality.”
“Okay? Then…Sae-kun?”
“Yup~ Sounds good! Then…I hope we be good friends?” He extended his hand out towards her.
“Sure!”
Yuki took his hand and they shook each other’s hand firmly, but what was this feeling Yuki was having. She felt something through Sae’s hand and it’s really disturbing her…she didn’t understand this feeling she’s experiencing. It's rather new and never she felt like this before.

Yuki and Jurina were heading home together today as the archangel girl friend really uneasy with the atmosphere today. She said that a non-human might appear today so she excused herself from her afterschool naginata practice in order to walk back home with Yuki.
“Hey…something will appear?”
“I don’t know, I can’t tell…but my guts are not feeling good.”
Jurina held Yuki’s hand tightly as they were heading out from school. The puppy girl didn’t have a good feeling within the school’s ground and believed that they should leave instantly. The tall raven girl didn’t resist and just went with the flow with Jurina; part of her admitted that she felt quite uneasy today for some reason. It seemed it’s not only her that was having that feeling.
~VOOOOOM~
A chill ran down Yuki’s spine and then the life in her eyes faded. That instant the girl stopped walking and made Jurina stumbled backward with confusion.
“Yukirin?”
“…”
“Hey Yukirin??”
“…”
The girl just suddenly ran off and made Jurina flinched. The archangel didn’t felt good about it and followed the girl. As she kept chasing Yuki, she realized that they were now going to some isolated area in the campus. At that moment, she didn’t felt so good about it and then saw a hoard of humans waiting for Yuki and Jurina to arrive. They got red eyes…and clearly shown fangs…black hair…and that black outfit…they are vampires.
“You…!” Jurina immediately summoned her naginata and then it seemed Yuki snapped out from the hypnotism.
“E-Eh!? Jurina? Eh!? Where are we??”
“Yukirin! Run to me! They’re vampires!” Jurina warned and without further ado, the raven girl could see fangs and bloody eyes staring at her with an malicious smirk. It gave her goose bumps immediately and she ran to Jurina’s side without any slight hesitation.
“Capture her alive! Do not spare that archangel…master said to kill her.” The leader of the group order and hoards of vampire dashed towards the lone archangel.
“You can’t beat me that easily!!”
Jurina swung her naginata and created a defensive wall around her and Yuki in order to protect them from incoming vampires from all directions. Then she muttered some sort of spell before the barrier around them acted like a cannon shooting holy bullets towards them. Some were hit on the arm and it burned their skin. The growled in pain as those holy bullets were deadly against dark existence like vampires. The archangel smirked as she realized that her enemies made a bad decision to underestimate her. Then it seemed it had made vampires a little more serious… their eyes glowed brightly even more but Jurina didn’t let her guard down.
“Come in! You can break through it!” Jurina taunted them but it didn’t seem to work…they were smirking and Yuki didn’t feel safe anymore.
“Don’t! You have to dodge it!”
A mysterious voice warned them but it was too late. One vampire ran in and struck its fist right onto the barrier. It shattered instantly and caused Jurina and Yuki to be utterly vulnerable to her enemies.
“Kill that archangel!!” The leader ordered and every single of them aimed towards Jurina and hoped to finish her off before she could even react.
~WHOOOSH~
Black feathers rained from above and acted as a rain barrier around Yuki and Jurina. It made the vampires backed away as they made contact with those feathers. It was no ordinary feathers. The vampires grumbled with dissatisfaction as they could sense another presence of non-human close by which wasn’t their own people…
“You can stay defensive against vampires…the longer you let them stay still the stronger they get.”
The man in black wings appeared from the sky. Slowly his feather shredded off and the wings disappeared. His black feather reminded Yuki of a familiar face. Just looking as his back she recognized him immediately; this presence, this aura…it was the friendly black tengu that she met, Matsui Ren.
“Ren-san!”
“I’m here as I promise. I’ll protect you Kashiwagi-sama.”
“You…”
“Archangel, this is not the time for you to turn your weapon against me. If we want to protect Kashiwagi-sama…I believe we have to join forces together.” Ren tried to open a negotiation, as he made sure he kept his eyes locked at those vampires surrounding them. Even though he might be strong, just along with these hoards of vampires could be a big problem with him.
“…Fine! Just this once!” Jurina was forced to agree with him and then they had temporarily team-up in order to protect Yuki from those vampires that were trying to kidnap her.
“I’ll be in front line, do support with your defensive spells.”
“You don’t have to ask for it!” Jurina stood in her battle stance and chanted more spells while Ren had took all the vampire’s attention.
They all ran towards him in order to finish him off once and for all but it was an utterly poor decision they made. He took off his hidden twin sword underneath his sleeves and then spun around swiftly. He swung his blades in one fluid motion and created a wind slash around him. He managed to land a strong blow against those that tried to corner him. Using this chance, he leaped out from the center of the circle and more slashed down two vampires from behind. He didn’t kill them but he wounded them enough that they wouldn’t be able to fight any longer.
“Oi! Tengu!!”
Jurina called him from behind and then he leaped towards the side before hoards of holy bullets struck the whole group of vampires instantly. Ren was able to buy enough time for Jurina to charge up her holy arts without any disturbance.
“Sugoi…” Yuki exclaimed with astonishment, as this was her first time witnessing the battles of non-humans. It seemed like its some sort of fiction, but it’s all happening in real life right before her eyes.
“Obviously those vampires are weak against holy arts of heaven!”
She smirked and Ren didn’t say a word. He didn’t really care about anything as long as Yuki’s safe. Then suddenly, he realized that the leader had disappeared…this wasn’t such a good sign.
“Archangel! Behind!!” Ren roared and but Jurina wouldn’t make it on time.
He saw the leader behind Yuki as he was about to bury his fangs into Yuki’s white neck. None of them would make it on time but then…one single arrow saved her.
“Bull’s eye~”
~THUD!~
“U-Ugh!!!”
The vampire shrieked as the arrow went into his right eye. He backed away and caused Yuki to be terrified. She didn’t expect the vampire to be behind her and he was injured as well. That moment, Ren threw his black blade towards the vampire and struck right at its shoulder in order to make him immobilize. That moment, both Jurina and Ren sensed another presence, but it wasn’t a vampire.
“Oi~ If I’m not here then my girl would be in danger huh?”
The ikemen boy spoke up as he walked towards them from behind. Obviously Yuki would recognize him, as he was one of her classmate Miyazawa Sae.
“And you better head back to your filthy land, my arrows don’t kill, but it can make you blind.” He mocked while he stood in his relaxing stance, yet there was no opening for anyone to strike him. His aura told everyone how cautious and confident he was.
“Damn you…Dark elves!” The vampire cursed back at him as he pulled the arrow out from his eye.
“H-Huh?” Yuki froze and turned towards Sae.
He was smiling without fear even though he was standing in front of a vampire. The only reason that could solve her doubt was that he must be another non-human as well. That would explain why Yuki always felt uneasy around Sae.
“Leave~ Or else I’ll have to kill you off since you dare touch my woman…”
He pulled his bow and an arrow was formed by his powers. He aimed at the injured vampire but then the tengu boy grabbed Sae’s arm and lowered it down.
“Stop. Do not violate the our laws or else even you wouldn’t be spared.”
“…Hm, you’re right~” Sae pulled his bow back and the arrow disappeared. The leader used this chance to order his people to retreat and then they disappeared from the school immediately.
The atmosphere was lightened up after the presence of vampires disappeared. However…it seemed another candidate that aimed for Yuki appeared. Jurina glared at him and turned her naginata towards both Sae and Ren.
“Then it’s the time I’ll have to finish you two off.” She glared but it made Sae pouted.
“C’mon…I saved Yuki didn’t I? Don’t I deserve some prize?”
“No one asked you to!” Jurina argued back and still stood in her attack stance.
“Sae-kun, Ren-san, thanks for saving me.” Yuki spoke up and made Jurina flinched. The raven girl walked forward and bowed slightly for them. Even though she knew that they protected her for some of their personal gains, at least she felt like having to thank them for saving her. “…Thank you.”
“No problem Yuki~ I’m always at your service.”
“You don’t have to worry. My duty is to protect you, Kashiwagi-sama.”
“Oh right, you’re a tengu guardian. But that isn’t fair~ you sound much cooler than me!” Sae pouted and Ren didn’t know how to responded to that. He ruffled his head and tilted his head slightly to the side with confusion.
“Uh…okay? I’m not certain how am I going to respond to that?”
“Hm~ more rivals eh~?”
Another mysterious voice echoed up from the side as the shadow of a wolf boy appeared from behind the trees. Yuki couldn’t forget childish face, as he’s the first non-human she had encountered.
“Isn’t it the dark elf and Ren-chan?”
“Yuko? No wonder I felt your presence within this town…” Ren didn’t look that surprise comparing to Sae. He seemed to realize that he got more rivals that were coming after Yuki now.
“A wolf…so are you after Yuki as well?”
“Hehe~ I guess we’re on the same boat~”
The dark elf and the wolf glared fiercely at each other and it didn’t seem they’re planning to back down any second. Ren was standing in the middle goggling his eyes between Yuko and Sae every now and then…
“Uh…” Yuki kept staring at those three with confusion and a bad feeling in her guts. “Do you mind I ask a question?”
“Hm?” The three of them turned to her.
“Why…what do you guys wanted from me?” Yuki asked again even though she knew the answer. Yet she seemed she wanted more clarification of why non-humans like them and the vampires were aiming for her. “What’s so important about me?”
“You’re special Kashiwagi-sama…and we didn’t really have a choice.” Ren replied calmly and then Sae continued where he left off.
“It’s indeed a long story…but let’s say, our non-human race is dying.” Sae stuck his wooden bow onto the ground and it immediately transformed into a small tree. It was from his dark elf powers.
“We need you…and yes, it’s a battle royal between all non-human races. Only the leader of each race can participate, and only one can have you…” Yuko declared as seriousness atmosphere started to accumulate. “Our lives are on the line, that’s why…we’re serious.”
“What can I do…Am I not just an ordinary girl?” Yuki asked out of complete curiosity. She couldn’t still believe that a simple girl like her could be able to save a whole clan of non-humans from their destruction.
“I guess you can’t call ordinary…” Ren muttered softly. “You’re the reincarnation of the goddess of life. It’s not like we wanted you involved in this as well…”
“Actually, why not? Yuki is sure going to be a gorgeous wife~” Yuko laughed out loud and it made Sae joined him as well.
“True! I believe her kids would be as pretty as her~”
“E-Eh!?” Both girls exclaimed with shock and Ren couldn’t help but to be stunned by how playful both Sae and Yuko were with this matter.
“H-Hey! Kashiwagi-sama is not a play-thing for you guys!”
“Of course she’s not, she’s going to be my wife.” Sae giggled with slight hint of excitement.
“No she’s mine!” Yuko argued.
“My child with her will definitely look better than yours.” Sae stuck his tongue out and made Yuki and Jurina blushed with embarrassment.
They both pretty much understood what the non-humans were conversing right now and it seemed it’s getting a little too overboard for a 16-yr old girls like them to hear this.
“You two! Both of them are underage! Plus, is this the only thing you guys can think??” Ren tried to protect both Jurina and Yuki from perverted contents from Yuko and Sae. However it seemed he became their next target somehow… they both glared at him with suspicious smirk, which sent a chill down his spine. “Uh…”
“Obviously its our nature to produce kids~ or else who would continue our race?” Yuko giggled and gave a creepy stare at the tengu boy. “Aren’t you a part of this because you need to make Yuki-chan your wife too?”
“B-But…” He froze, as he couldn’t deny that fact Yuko stated. However, he shook his head violently and argued back at the perverted wolf. “I don’t wish to force Kashiwagi-sama to be with me if she doesn’t want to!”
“Oh~ Then how about we play a game?” Sae suggested and literally grabbed everyone’s attention to this.
“Game?”
“Who can make Yuki fall in love with them first within 3 months will win and others will have to acknowledge their own lost?”
“Hey! Hey! Hey! Since when I become a prize thing!?” Yuki rushed in and literally joined the conversation. However the wolf and the dark elf seemed to ignore the poor raven’s question.
“Deal! Definitely I’m going to make Yuki-chan fall for my charms!” Yuko declared proudly.
“Not at the slightest. The winner is going to be me!” Sae argued and it seemed the game to make fall in love with them had begun. The dark elf turned to the tengu and pointed his finger at him. “I won’t lose to you, tengu!”
“Uh…”
“Then I guess I better make a plan now!” Yuko giggled suspiciously and then decided to walk away. He winked at the raven girl and caused Yuki to flinched back slightly with how playfulness he was. “See you Yuki-chan~”
“Hm~ I guess I have to go do my assignments that are due tomorrow now…I don’t want to ruin my reputation in school yet!” Sae approached Yuki and raised her hand up to kiss her backhand gently. It made Yuki flushed as no one ever did this to her before, even though she knew that Sae was a non-human. “I’ll see you tomorrow, my Yuki.”
“Hey! Let her go!”
Jurina came in and hit Sae’s hand away from Yuki’s. He managed to pull his hand back before the archangel could’ve hit him. “I’ll make sure you never get close to Yukirin…”
“Don’t worry~ I won’t have to since I’ll make her fall in love with me.” He winked before he decided to disappear away. “Jya ne~”
Now, it’s only the black tengu boy that was left and it seemed he was automatically dragged into the game Sae and Yuko proposed. But at the least Yuki would be safe as they wouldn’t have to fight or kill each other to make Yuki as their own. That would be the worse consequences he least wanted it to happen.
“Kashiwagi-sama…I’m sorry that you’re dragged into this mess. But I promise I’ll always protect you.”
“Ren-san…” Yuki turned to him and smiled with relief. At the least, she was glad that there was at least one sane non-human other than Jurina with her. She felt safe around him than Yuko and Sae who constantly seemed to be perverted around her. “Thank you, you’re really kind…”
“But I won’t let you get close to Yukirin.” Jurina declared again and made him chuckled softly.
“I don’t intend to force Kashiwagi-sama to love me. I’ll protect and respect your decision.” He patted the young raven’s head gently. His warm smile gave comfort and ease to the poor raven’s heart. “By the way…It’s Jurina isn’t?”
“Yeah?”
“I believe more vampires will come after Kashiwagi-sama even more. If that really happens please call for assistance immediately.” Ren grabbed on of his feather on the ground and clutched it tightly in his fist. He turned it towards Yuki and the feather transformed into a smaller size. It became a small portable keychain.
“Please keep this. When dangers approaching, I will realize it immediately.”
“T-Thank you Ren-san!”
“Those vampires that are after Yukirin? Plus, I can just handle them alone.”
“You witnessed their strength already. I have to admit that if it’s only me…I would have a rough time dealing with that many.” Ren replied honestly.
“…” Jurina remained in silence as the scene that her proudly defensive wall shattered in just one single punch.
“They will come for Kashiwagi-sama again…their leader isn’t appearing out yet. We have to be extremely cautious.”
“…Fine, I got it.” Jurina had to agree with Ren and it seemed they had formed an alliance to protect their princess. “The only main purpose is to protect Yukirin! Got that?”
“I know, that’s what I wish…and it’s the time I should be going. Please return home soon as soon as possible.”
Ren walked away and left the two girls alone. As Yuki and Jurina realized it again, the sun almost set and they hurried back home immediately before any more things might happen on them again.

The injured vampires returned back to the black castle on the dark mountains and the vampire messenger had came to inform their leader about his minions’ failure in mission.
“It had seemed the archangel, tengu, and dark elf had coorperated with each other sir.”
“I see.”
The leader replied as he had been having a good nap on his throne chair. He slowly opened his eyes and revealed those pure bloody orbs that glowed in the dark. He got up from his seat as he felt that it’s pointless to make his minions go to kidnap Yuki any further.
“I guess I have to take action myself. Arrange the preparations.” He ordered his messenger as he bowed before he left the leader’s throne hall.
“Mayu, are you going to leave the castle?”
A vampire lady came out from the curtains and skipped towards her leader. She seemed to be fairly close to the leader in order to address him by his name only. Mayu wasn’t even mad at her either; they must have intimate relationship with each other.
“Take care of the castle while I’m away, Miyuki.”
“Hai hai~ I will look after the castle in your place.” Miyuki saluted at her leader as the blood eye boy walked out from the throne hall to prepare himself to go to Tokyo…in order to go confront with Yuki directly this time.

“Nngh…I’m so tired.” Yuki muttered as her head was still resting on the table.
These couple of weeks her life had been really hectic. Her school life was already a pain in her ass but she had to deal with Sae every single day in school and it was just draining all her stamina each time. Since she literally had to run away from him to hide as well as running away from his fan groups.
“I heard we’re getting a new history teacher!” Asuka exclaimed with excitement.
“Hm? What happen to Sata-sensei?”
“He’s going to teach a different course so the new teacher replaced him. I heard he’s super handsome!” Aki giggled and it’s just as Yuki would expected from her friends.
“Eh… I can’t wait to see him too!”
~DING~DING~
Everyone went to his or her seats and then the door had opened. The unfamiliar man had entered but…something caught Yuki’s attention. As he walked towards the table in the middle…his eyes, hair, posture, and aura…she definitely recognize him. His gentle smile melted the girls’ heart instantly. Sae seemed to be surprise as well as he saw this new teacher entering the room.
“Good morning everyone. I’m the new history teacher here, my name is Matsui Ren. Nice to meet you all.”
(Yuki: I didn’t expect this! Ren-san is now my teacher!? I wondered how old is he!)
“I guess we also have another new student…please come in.” Ren turned towards the door and then another boy had entered. He didn’t button his first two buttons and revealed his collarbone. His playfulness aura sure grabbed everyone’s attention as well.
“Yaho~! I’m Oshima Yuko! Please take care of me~”
(Yuki: W-What!? Oh now this is doubling the horror…what’s wrong with these non-humans that appeared to be so popular to everyone…)
“Kyah! We got two hot guys in our class! I felt so lucky~” The girls screamed with excitement as there are Sae and Yuko…both non-humans, and both super instant-popular boys due to their handsome appearance.
“Heh~ that’s sneaky.” Sae smirked softly and obviously only Yuko could hear him due to his excellent hearing.
“Well…How about Oshima-san sit at that available seat over there?” Ren pointed at the last seat in Sae’s row. The playful wolf nodded and intentionally walked pass Sae’s table.
“Well~ I won’t let you guys take that advantage from me either.” He replied as he walked passed his table.
Right now, the school had turned into a love battlefield and it’s likely to be the place that Yuki never wanted to be there anymore. She could see Yuko winked and her and she definitely knew that his plan was to enroll in this school in order to get closer to her as a student. At the least she still had Ren and Jurina with her but still…she felt like wanting to scream out loud with how hectic her life would be from now on…

[SCENE IV: Heartless Blood Thirstier]
The group of girls was crowded in front of the infirmary while watching this lucky girl having the school doctor treating her injury on her knee. He disinfected it and wrapped the bandage around tightly so that it wouldn’t fall out.
“You’re good to go. It’s just a scratch.”
“T-Thank you sensei!”
The short black haired doctor used his killing smile and love struck the young little girl along with other stalkers outside. He’s a new doctor that just moved in to replace the nurse that resigned. He was young and utterly attractive among all the young students in the school. Everyone would try to get an injury just to have a chance for him to treat their wounds. He was becoming this popular single man in the school.

The girls talked about the doctor almost in every class and Yuki always overheard it. As there was too much things going on at the same time, she hoped that this new teacher wouldn’t be another non-human targeting her again. She had more than enough in her classroom already…Ren-sensei, Yuko, and Sae. Yuki was literally surrounded by these non-humans every single day at her class. During her break time, she stayed with Asuka, Aki, and Jurina most of the time.
“Have you met the doctor yet? I heard that he’s really hot!” Asuka exclaimed with excitement, as it seemed it’s not only Yuki that heard it.
“I heard few rumors about him.” Aki replied back. She seemed to be interested in this new doctor that just came in.
His popularity in the school increased drastically, just like when Ren-sensei came in to the school in the past week. As for Yuki, never encountered with this doctor yet since she didn’t find a reason to drop by to the infirmary.
“Yo~ what’s up girls~!”
The playful transferred boy, Yuko, walked up to them and placed his hand on Asuka’s shoulder. He often came to greet Yuki and her friends since he’s doing his best to approach the targeted Kashiwagi. But it’s not only him…there’s another boy who did the same as well.
“Stop flirting with girls, wolf boy.”
“Hearing that from a flirty archer sounds wrong.”
Yuko sneered back at him as those two always had some sort of cold war between the two of them. However, they were actually interested in the topic regarding this new doctor in the school. His popularity boosted up so high that even surpassed both Sae and Yuko.
“About that doctor…jeez…what did he do to make those girls attracted to him!?”
Yuko ruffled his hair with confusion and Sae wondered the same. They felt nothing suspicious about this doctor despite with this ridiculous charm. They sighed softly as it seemed they ran out of luck.
“Yuki-chan, don’t go near that doctor okay? I don’t want you to fall for him.”
“Now thinking of that…maybe it’s a good idea.”
Yuki teased them back a caught both Sae and Yuko’s attention immediately. She rather fell in love with a human instead of falling in love with non-humans. Both boys got slightly frustrated and nervous after Yuki bullied them with her words.
“No don’t! I don’t want that!”
“That’s mean Yukirin…”
Sae pouted slightly and Yuki still felt that this idea was a nice one though. However, after she had spent her time in school with Yuko, Sae, and Ren, she eventually felt less cautious around them as she learned that they were good people.

While Yuki was in her sports class, she recalled what Ren had talked to her few days ago. Usually there would be vampires trying to capture her but they suddenly just disappeared without a reason…it’s rather suspicious. Therefore, Matsui sensei asked her to be extra cautious and always carry his charm so he’s able to detect any dangers approaching her.
“Yukirin be careful!!”
The young Kashiwagi was dazed off and didn’t see the ball coming in towards her, it struck right on her face and caused her to fell over on her back. She could hear people calling out her name loudly and suddenly this mysterious man came out of nowhere and carried her up in a bridal style. Her head was dizzy and she couldn’t only see this black haired man in his red glasses and white coat. He didn’t look familiar at all but he gave a very calm aura from him, his blue eyes gave her an easing vibe.
“Glad that I just walk passed by, leave her to me.” The man talked to Yuki’s physical education teacher and she nodded firmly with relief.
“Thank you Watanabe-sensei, I hope she will be alright.”
She replied back to the man that was carrying her, but her mind wasn’t able to process anything yet. She eyes slowly closed and lost her conscious after that…

Yuki finally regained her conscious again but she was on the bed in the infirmary room. She started to feel the ache on her head as a ball hit her during her sports class. The curtain around her bed was closing her from outside, but then before she could get off from the bed someone pushed the curtains aside.
“Finally you’re awake. Are you okay Kashiwagi-san?”
It was the same man that carried her at the field when she got hit by the ball. His short black hair and calm attractive blue eyes through those red glasses. He came to her side and checked on the bruises but it didn’t seem to be that worrying. He smiled again and stroked Yuki’s head gently.
“You should be able to get out soon. It’s almost after school so feel free to take a break until then. I applied all the medicine on you so do take a good rest when you get back home.”
He went back to his table and wrote like a log of his student patient today. He must be the doctor that everyone had been talking about. He was indeed handsome and she wasn’t surprised that many girls were stalking and obsessed over him. Yuki admitted that the kindness in his eyes did give butterflies in her stomach as well as a skipping heart. However, it wasn’t that much to make her fall for him instantly.
“It must be you that carried me over…thank you so much, uh…”
“Watanabe Mayu, nice to meet you, Kashiwagi-san.”
“Thank you, Watanabe-sensei.”
Yuki smiled and bowed her head down. Then suddenly after the doctor was done scribbling onto the paper, he turned to her with a calm smile.
“Do you have a boyfriend yet?”
“E-Eh!?!?”
“Haha~ I take that as a no then.” The doctor chuckled softly and it made Yuki blushed with embarrassment. It was so awkward that she blurted towards him like that. “But that’s rather surprising.”
“Eh? How so?”
“You have that attraction that will pull people in to you, since you’re pretty after all, Kashiwagi-san.”
He flattered her with his gentle words and it was the first time a man gave such a compliment to her like this. She couldn’t help but to blush and she had a thought that Yuko mentioned to Yuki to stay away from the attractive doctor. Part of her wouldn’t mind it since she preferred to be with a human than a non-human.

Yuki actually stayed at the infirmary and talked to the doctor until the bell rang. She finally grabbed her stuffs and her room and went to watch Jurina during her naginata training at the club. The puppy girl wouldn’t allow Kashiwagi to return back home without being with her until they reached her house. Just when they were about to leave the school, the sky was getting bright scarlet as the sun was about to set.
“Let’s head back home.” Jurina turned to her and held Yuki’s hand tightly. The young angel had become extra cautious with Yuki’s surroundings and the raven haired girl could feel it.
“…Sure, let’s go.”
However, as they were about to walk passed the gate Jurina felt like a barrier preventing her to exit the school. A chill ran down both of their spine and men in black suits appeared. They gave a same air vibe as vampires that tried to attack them. However, something was a little different…
“So this is the goddess? She smells so normal.”
This mysterious man walked out and his eyes were glowing brightly in red. He seemed to be the leader of the vampires that were surrounding both girls.
“Duke-sama…she’s the one.”
That leader was a duke of the vampires and Jurina didn’t hesitate to summon her holy naginata out in order to fight against the bloody vampires. The duke ordered his men to kill off the angel and capture Yuki alive since he needed her powers to make his kind live on. However, he did underestimate the holy powers of the angel. It seemed Jurina had been training herself as well in order to prepare this situation. As the countless vampires came for her, she tightened her grip and dashed forward towards them. She managed to catch them off guard and performed a wide horizontal swing with full force. Majority of them got slashed and it was burning their skin and flesh. The holy powers were deadly and dangerous to the evil vampires.
“Get lost, or else I’ll pierce my blade into your hearts!”
“You think that will work on my men? KILL HER!”
The duke ordered and the vampires did not fear for death. That was when Jurina had no choice but to use her holy spell to seal their movements. She chanted an ancient language and her naginata glowed brightly before the she pierced it onto the ground. The magic circle appeared below her and white chains pierced from the ground and bound tightly onto all vampires that came for her. They are immobilized and the more they move the more they felt the holy burn against their skin. Even their regeneration wouldn’t help them with the constant pain that’s hunting them.
“This is the end, you must be the one that’s behind all those vampire attacks!!”
“Holy chains huh…break it.”
The vampires roared and they used force to break the chain into pieces. It made Jurina stumbled back slightly as she recalled what Ren always warned her about the vampire’s true strength. She bid her lips and started to get worried about Yuki’s safety.
“W-what’s going on…??”
Unfortunately, there was this girl that was stuck in this barrier along with Yuki and Jurina. The vampires spotted her and it made the duke smirked. He licked his lips and Yuki could see his canine fangs.
“Capture her…and eat her.”
“NO! Don’t!!” Yuki yelled for the duke to stop but it would work, she turned to the student girl immediately and yelled for her to run for her life. “Run! HURRY!!”
The student girl stumbled and ran away immediately. About two vampires ran after her to in order to hunt for food. Jurina wanted to save the girl, but her hands were full with just protecting Yuki already. Other vampires surrounded them and did not stop pursing on the goddess’s reincarnation.
“Make it quick, hurry up!”
All those vampires growled and rushed in towards them at the same time, while Jurina was doing her best to protect Yuki she started to realize she’s reaching her limits. However, as she expected, the black winged savior came for the rescue and used his black feathers to strike all of them.
“Glad I made it…sorry to make you both wait.”
“Ren-san!”
“Tch, late! You slowpoke tengu.”
“My apologize, Jurina-san. It took quite a while to get through into the vampire’s barrier…”
Ren smiled calmly and unsheathed his twin blade hidden in his black wings. Now they had two people, but Yuki couldn’t stop worrying about this stranger student that was accidently trapped in this barrier.
“T-There’s another girl in here…please save her Ren-san!”
“Is that true?”
“Two vampires are after her, take care of Yuki and I’ll go after those scums.”
Jurina took off with her white wings spread out widely in midair in order to catch up with the victim girl. She flew passed the vampires without fear but Ren realized that it was a biggest mistake. He could see a flash of smirk across the duke’s face.
“Stop Jurina-san! Don’t!”
“It’s too late~”
The duke grabbed onto her leg and threw her straight down onto the floor. It caused Jurina to cough out blood as she could feel her ribs fractured from that throw. She tried to get up but the duke stomped onto her back as he landed back onto the floor. It inflicted more pain to the poor angel, as she was no match for the vampire duke.
“Poor archangel. You’ll literally fall for real…right here.”
“J-Jurina!”
Yuki called for her as she tried to rush to her side. However, Ren stopped her and realized that the situation was getting out of hand. He could fight against them without an issue if it were to just protect himself…not with Jurina and Yuki with him.
“Tch…!”
Ren threw his blade towards the duke, but he grabbed it as if he did not felt any pain from it. He literally crushed the black blade with his bare hands and caused the tengu man to be surprised. This was his first time encountering the vampire duke and he didn’t realize they could be this strong…
“At least you seem to be a little smarter…that’s fun.”

“H-Haaa….Haaa…!”
The poor girl was running away from the vampires that were trying to capture her. She was utterly terrified and she couldn’t help but to reach the end of the barrier that prevented her to escape. Those vampires giggled with excitement, as they were about to enjoy their meal for the day. The girl squirmed and yelled out loud with fear, but her words would not reach anyone’s ears. No one could see or hear anything from inside the barrier, as well as not able to see what’s going on.
“Sorry girl~ you’re out of luck”
“N-Noo…! Please don’t!”
“Don’t worry, its just a little pain, you’ll be alright.”
Another man replied as they revealed their fangs. As the girl was trying to break through the barrier with fear of death, the mysterious man appeared in front of her. She seemed to recognize this person and the vampires could feel a strong stare coming from him as if he saw them clearly.
“D-Did he saw us?”
“Is that even possible? That can’t be.”
“P-Please save me!!”
The girl screamed and then the man walked forward towards the woman and extended his hand towards her in order to pat her head. His had easily went through the barrier and made the vampires shocked. No one would be able to go through the barrier the vampires created if they are not one of the kinds as well. But it wasn’t that convincing since his eyes were purely light blue. Furthermore, he walked into the barrier as if there was nothing preventing him at the slightest.
“Who the fuck are you!? How could you enter the barrier—!?”
Before the vampire could finish his words properly, he was kicked right at his neck and caused him to fall unconscious immediately, or either the kick broke his neck already.
“…Shut up.”
His words were as cold as ice and his glare made another vampire froze with fear. He broke into sweat and he couldn’t move an inch. He could see the man’s hand grabbed onto his neck and strangling him until he lost his breath.
“W-Who…are…you…!”
“You must be that asshole’s men…how low and shame you put on the mighty proud vampire’s race.”
He glared as he thrust his fist right into the vampire’s stomach and caused him to fall unconscious. The man dropped the listless vampire onto the floor before he approached the poor girl that was breaking into tears. She smiled and felt utterly relieved that he saved her but he suddenly pulled her buttoned shirt down and ripped off few buttons. In confusion, she couldn’t move as those icy blue eyes mesmerized her. The next thing, she saw those canine fangs of a vampire in front of her and as it buried onto her neck. She felt the chill down her spine and even though her mind was resisting…her body didn’t as if it was controlled. Her conscious slowly faded away as the man dropped her onto the floor, she could see his eyes glowing in red like the vampires and his fangs tainted with her own blood.

“U-Uaaaagh!!!”
The duke was striking onto Jurina’s back and inflicted more pain onto her, especially on her wings. He seemed he was attempting to break those wings out of plain curiosity.
“I wonder the wings would grow back or heal if we mutilate it…”
“STOP IT!! Don’t hurt Jurina anymore than this!” Yuki rushed forward while the vampires were still surrounding her. However the duke did not fear with that intimidation until Yuki grabbed the blade from Ren’s hand and paused right in front of her neck.
“Kashiwagi-sama!?”
“Y-Yukirin…!”
“If I die, it would be a big problem for you right? Then do as I say!”
Yuki acted boldly and it made the duke paused what he was doing. He started to get interested with this young lady that acted so courageously or either recklessly without thinking. The duke smiled and decided to make a deal with her that she couldn’t refuse it.
“I’ll let her go then…if you come with me.”
“So be it then.”
“No you can’t!!” Jurina yelled back and tried to fight back, but she was stepped byt eh duke again and couldn’t even gather enough strength to fight back. “U-Ughh…!”
“Very well then~ that’s a deal—”
The duke was suddenly grabbed on the head and the second thing was that he was thrust from behind through his chest by a hand. It made everyone startled with shock and then the duke was struggling with pain as he coughed blood out from his lips.
“W-What…the…!?”
The mysterious striker swung his arm and threw the duke onto the floor squirming in pain. Ren and others couldn’t believe their eyes as they saw the strong mighty duke being struck down with one blow and it almost killed him off. The man took his glasses off and pushed his hair up. His eyes were glowing brightly in red and releasing such a terrified fearful aura just by his presence. As the duke saw the man’s face…he was terrified and trembled in fear.
“N-No…don’t t-tell me that…!”
“It seems you never learn your lessons, duke Minegishi.”
His cold voice reminded Yuki of someone. Even though it gave a totally different vibe, it was the same exact voice as that gentle voice of her sensei… he continued to speak as he approached towards the duke. “Learn your place, you filthy duke, how dare you tainted the name of the vampires?”
“F-Forgive me…my archduke.”
“A-Archduke!?”
Other vampires exclaimed with shock and all of them bowed down immediately to this man that suddenly appeared. They looked down with fear and realized that they were turning their blades towards the mighty archduke of the vampire race. As they felt this fearful vibe within them, they realized whom they were against with. They couldn’t help but to remain still and hope that the archduke would spare them.
“…Leave while you have the chance. This will be the last time I give my warning. Never return here AGAIN.”
“Thank you for your kindness…my archduke, Watanabe.”
The mysterious man smirked and Yuki couldn’t hide her shocking expression. He had the same exact name as the doctor of Tokyo High School. His facial appearance, and his voice…it was the same as Dr. Watanabe. The kindhearted doctor she talked to today was actually the mighty fearful archduke of the vampire race. He was able to strike down the duke in one single blow. As the vampires fled with fear, only Jurina, Ren, and Yuki were left with archduke Mayu.
“It seems my cover is gone. Oh well, I expected this sooner or later.”
He licked his fangs as they were covered with blood as if he just recently sucked his victim’s blood. Tengu turned his weapon towards Mayu with a glare and giggled softly.
“What are you going to do with me, Matsui-sensei?”
“…!?”
It seemed the vampire knew about Ren’s identity to begin with. However, he was surprised that he wasn’t able to detect any non-human air from Mayu at all. However before any further battles could continue, the archduke turned around and grabbed the arrow that was aiming towards him.
“Too late!!”
Yuko leaped from the side hoping to strike Mayu down from the blind spot but he failed. He swung the arrow in his hand towards the wolf boy and struck right across his face with full force. It caused the wolf boy to fell back and jumped away in order to get a distance away from the vampire. He got a cut across his cheek as well.
“Ho ho ho…it seems everyone is gathered now.”
Mayu smirked, as he knew that Sae was around as well. The dark elf slowly appeared from the darkness to join the union of the non-humans again. However he was carrying this unconscious female student. She was the same girl that was accidently trapped in the vampire’s barrier.
“How…why did I not smell that vampire stench from you!?”
Yuko grumbled but it made Mayu mocked him with a grin. His calm aura showed how much he had no fear for other non-humans surrounding him at the moment. He chose to answer and only stared at the only human girl among the crowd.
“Let’s call in an end…shall we?”
Mayu snapped his fingers and destroyed the barrier covering them instantly. The intense atmosphere changed instantly and returned back to normal. Doctor Watanabe closed his eyes and when he opened again, the blue eyes returned once again. All non-humans around him could only smell the stench of human from him…they still couldn’t believe that the archduke was messing up with their detection this badly.
“You guys better tune down your aura before people will be suspicious about you all…”
Others did not have a choice but to do as what Dr. Watanabe said. After the barrier was lifted the humans would be able to see them. Ren and Jurina kept their wings while others hid their non-human features. That instant, Yuki rushed to Jurina’s side and supported her in her arms. Her dear archangel was wounded but it didn’t bring any fatal threat to her life.
“Jurina…are you okay?”
“I’m okay…don’t worry.”
However, there was this girl whom had her shirt soaked with her blood. Sae couldn’t help but to glare furiously at the archduke vampire while he carried the girl properly in a bridal style.
“You…you hurt her didn’t you!?”
“Tch, what if I did? I’m a blood thirstier after all.”
“Damn you—!”
As Sae put down the girl and was about to strike him, Ren interrupted him and stopped him from further creating more commotion within the school area. There were more than enough things happening today already. Yuko remained in his eyes on Mayu and glared at him without blinking.
“So you’re here, for goddess as well didn’t you?”
“I believe we all have the same objective and reason to be here.”
Mayu smiled calmly but Yuki could feel the heartlessness from those eyes. It was totally different from the one she felt earlier today. She still couldn’t believe that the kind doctor she talked to today was actually a cold-blooded vampire.
“Even it means I have to kill everyone here…”
He licked his fangs and released an intimidating stare at them. At that instant, all their instincts felt that they could be killed any second that the vampire went into his serious mode. He was an archduke after all…he was way stronger than the duke vampire that tried to ambush on Yuki. Jurina witnessed the true powers of the vampires so well that her subconscious feared for them. Her body was unconsciously trembling and Yuki could feel her fear through that. Yuki held onto her friend tightly to protect her and glared back at Mayu with strong declaration.
“If you want me that badly, play the game!!”
“…Game huh?”
“Stop dragging people into this problem…anyone who can make me fall in love with will WIN this whole thing! …and the losers must accept they lose unconditionally.”
Everyone froze in silence with Yuki’s strong determination. She didn’t want to drag anyone into the fight anymore just like this victim that got harmed by the vampire. The only thing was that she hoped that the archduke would play this game with her, since he’s the most threat between everyone else, because she knew that Mayu wouldn’t hesitate to drag innocent victims into this.
“…Heh, very well then. That sounds easier for me.” He put on his red glasses and pushed it up slightly with his finger. “However, if anyone interferes with my meal time…I’ll kill them.”
He licked his fangs before he walked away with a softy giggle. Leaving a chill down their spine as his last impression. The royal battle of the non-humans seemed to get a little serious as another contestant was added into the list. From this moment on, Yuki couldn’t tell what would happen from now on and just hoped things would be okay and everyone would be safe.

Ren helped carried Jurina and went to Yuki’s house as the shelter. The infirmary at school became the most dangerous place for them to be in right now. As Jurina lied down on her face onto the bed in pain, Yuki placed her hand gently onto Jurina’s back and a green light surrounded her hand.
“Let your wings out. I’ll heal it too. I locked the door already so don’t worry.”
Jurina nodded silently and revealed her wings out. Yuki gently touched it and could see traces of blood on those white silky wings. She must’ve bled from that attack from the duke vampire.
“I’m so sorry Yukirin…I’m sorry…”
“Stop apologizing.”
“I…I can’t protect you at all…I’m so weak…!”
“You did. So shut up and rest. So you can come back to protect me again…neh?”
Yuki stroked Jurina’s head gently and the young puppy girl could feel the kindness through her healing. It made the angel felt relaxed and comfortable enough that it made her drifted into her sleep. It made Kashiwagi giggled softly and after she’s done healing, she turned to Matsui-sensei.
“Thank you for bringing Jurina here.”
“Not at all Kashiwagi-sama. It is a long day…please take a rest.”
“…It is.”
Yuki closed her eyes and recalled another hectic day today with all the vampires and about Dr. Watanabe. She couldn’t tell what would he be trying to do to her, but she couldn’t always run away and let Jurina and Ren protect her like this. She needed to stand up for herself and fight as well. It’s her problem after all. After Ren left, she stayed by Jurina’s side and slowly drifted off to sleep due to her exhaustion from today.
It is indeed…a long day.

“Isn’t the school festival coming up next month?"
Kuramochi Asuka spoke up while she was nibbling her pocky beside Aki and Yuki. The three girls were together as usual and had their discussion about their daily school life. After all the craziness in her life, Yuki was able to socialize with her friends in an ordinary matter for a while before she was interrupted…
“What’s school festival like?”
Yuko popped up to join the conversation with the girls. He smirked energetically and it seemed another handsome behind him seemed to ask so innocently that they had to spoil him. They told him about the fun stuffs and tasty foods sold everywhere in school. Their class would have to come up with a theme and there were just so many of it. The wolf boy was interested in this so-called school festival and wanted to see how would it be like. It was obvious that non-humans wouldn’t be familiar with human entertaining events such as school events.
“School events eh? This sounds fun.”
“Of course! Some classes do haunted house, restaurant, café, and a romantic play as well! It is really fun~”
Yuki’s friends were still telling Yuko about how wondrous the school festival would be and it grabbed the dark elf’s attention to them. He approached the ladies and it seemed one particular theme grabbed his attention.
“Café eh? So the ladies would wear the maid outfit is it?”
“Of course, isn’t the point of it?”
Aki replied and it made Sae smirked with interest. That moment Yuki could feel a chill down her spine and realized what the dark elf was thinking. He smirked towards her and then the wolf boy realized it as well. Yuko was able to catch up with what Sae was thinking and he was giggling pervertly towards Yuki. The messy haired boy started to grin widely and giggle out loud. He was certainly expressive disregarding it’s his perversion.
“Ah~ It would be nice to see Yukirin and the girls in maid outfit!”
“Oh c’mon! You two would look ravishing in butler outfit! Kyah~ I would die to see that!”
“Oh we have to dress up too?”
“Of course! Many people are going to come for sure! I hope Matsui-sensei could dress up too! Kyah~ This is like a butler’s café now!”
Sae spoke up and then Asuka replied immediately. Since both Sae and Yuko were still students of this class, they would need to help everyone and it’s obvious that they would be chosen as a butler of the café. They’re just too gorgeous that it's a must. Asuka couldn’t stop praising the two boys that they would capture so many girls’ heart with that butler attire, and so that caught Yuko’s attention immediately.
“Ah~ now this sounds like fun~ hehe.”
“Are you in heat? Just want to be swarm by girls, don’t you?”
“Coming from a popular archery boy swarming by juniors and seniors. Don’t make me laugh.”
Both the wolf and dark elf glared at each other and somehow was having their usual dispute again in the classroom. Yuki couldn’t help but to sigh with how these two could just be so childish, but terrifying at the same time. She constantly reminded herself how these two were nonhumans, but sometimes they do act as if they were humans like everyone else.

In the next morning during homeroom, the class discussed about this school festival and what they should do. It was as everyone expected, a café. There would be boys and girls that would be working during the festival but obviously there would be shifts. All the girls voted for Sae and Yuko to be the butlers without further ado, and then they dragged Yuki into the mess as well. During the voting, they suggested Kashiwagi to be one of the maids and as a result…she was chosen to be part of it. She got completely mad at those two but they really seem to enjoy bully her.
“I didn’t want to do the maid thing! Ugh! Why you pick me!?”
“Are you nuts? You’ll be deadly gorgeous in those tiny little maid skirts~”
“Wouldn’t it be fun to try new things?”
Yuko and Sae seemed to come to an agreement pretty fast when it comes to making Yuki wearing in a cute sexy attire. The two boys start talking about the girls in their classroom. They were surely having a deep discussion regarding their sex appealing whether who would be a good mating partner. That was the only thing that those nonhuman boys could think of. The worse thing was that they were talking around Yuki without caring about her opinion at the slightest. Luckily that both Aki and Asuka went to go grab lunch at the cafeteria before coming back to the classroom.
“But I bet Yuki-chan will be the hottest~ She just looks…tasty~”
“Oi you carnivorous wolf, she’s NOT food! I do have to admit girls in our class are pretty and some are smart, such a good pool gene to add into dark elf’s clan.”
“Yuki-chan will still be my number one, such a nice body like that turns me on~”
That moment the Kashiwagi girl couldn’t help but to throw a heavy textbook right into Yuko’s face and knocked him backward onto the floor. He landed hard and grumbled in pain since it’s a hardcover after all.
“You big pervert! Is this the only thing you could think!?”
“O-Oww! That hurts a lot Yuki-chan~! Now I need a healing kiss from you~”
“In your dreams you wolf!!”
As time passed by, even for just two weeks, Yuki didn’t realize how she became close to both Sae and Yuko. At first she was scared and felt uneasy around them, but now she could even kick of punch them without fearing that they would use their supernatural powers to revenge back. Maybe it was for the fact that they want Yuki as the mother of their child and so they needed to do anything to impress her, even though it meant to become masochist.
“Hahaha, that in-heat wolf never learns his lesson.”
Sae leaned in closer to Yuki while he looked at her alluring in order to bewitch her with his appealing aura, but then what he received from his princess was a notebook slap right in front of his face. Even it wasn’t as hard as the one Yuko got, but a flexible slap on his face sure gave him a slight sting pain. The wolf boy couldn’t stop laughing at the dark elf as Kashiwagi rejected him too.
“Bwahahahahaha!!! Serves you right you playboy! REJECTED~!”
“Shut up you low class wolf. You’re far from reaching Yuki’s heart.”
“We’ll see, you’ll eat your crap back. I’ll make Yuki-chan fall head over heels in love with me, I swear with my pride!”
“Getting a little cocky aren’t you?”
Both of them started to have a fight once again. Yuki sighed and just shook her head with exhaustion. Luckily Jurina would always come to be with her every lunch time since she’s always worried about Yuki being with those pervert nonhuman boys that wanted Yuki’s body. Despite it’s 2 weeks since then, Jurina never let her guard down whenever they were around her.
“Oh hey c’mon chief, stop with that grumpy look.”
“I have a name you wolf! It’s Jurina! Matsui Jurina!”
“Chief is easier.”
Since Jurina is an archangel, which could be called chief angel, and thus gave Yuko a way to call younger Matsui in an interesting way. Yuko would always try to piss people around him he would either have a fight with Sae or with Jurina.
“Ugh, you wolves…how rude.”
“Hey chief, aren’t you just being uptight? Angels are just so like a ruler.”
“Oh shut up, this is to maintain the balance of the order.”
“Whatever you say chief~ ”
“Ugh! You damn wolf…!!”
“Jurina, just calm down…Yuko is always like that. Just ignore him.”
Yuki tried to calm her friend down, but Jurina was still annoyed with him. As both Aki and Asuka came back, everyone started their lunch and still have their little chitchat with each other. That was when Kashiwagi started to realize how things were quite lively than usual…their lunch group was getting bigger and noisier than usual.
“Heh…it seems they’re enjoying quite well eh?”
The handsome doctor stood by the door and watched Yuki and her friends enjoying their lunch. He only smirked and crossed his arms in front of his chest. That was when Mayu diverted his glance to his side to see a history teacher standing their watching things closely.
“…A duke vampire as a doctor, how irony.”
“Well at least I’m glad to have some sane mature adult around here.”
Mayu was referring to Ren and they had this tensed atmosphere between them. However, at least they didn’t plan to open a fight right here. They were currently on a deal that anyone that captured Yuki’s heart would have her without any condition. Despite the doctor made an opening that left a terrifying impression to Yuki, he seemed to be rather confident that he would win anyway.
“I don't like how you guys are treating Kashiwagi-sama as a prize for your silly game…”
“Silly? You say the extinction of our races is just a game? Heh, isn’t black tengu’s race is one of the top most endangered races right now?”
“…!?”
“Heh, of course I do heard a lot of rumors these days about your people. Wouldn’t it be you that would have the most motivation to take that kiddo as your mating partner?”
Ren glared at Mayu who was smirking evilly at him. He clutched his fist tightly and replied strongly back to the heartless vampire doctor. He couldn’t underestimate this duke or else he would fall into his game.
“…Even my race is dying, I won’t let it destroy my pride as a black tengu. I’ll protect Kashiwagi-sama no matter what—”
“—and by being a heroic protector, you will capture her heart. What a scheme you have, maybe I’m underestimating you…Headmaster.”
Mayu interrupted and scoffed with a smile. This doctor was surely a sadistic extrovert. His speech was heartless and pierced severely each time he threw in a knife. At least the tengu teacher held his dignity strongly and not moved by Mayu’s threat. It seemed his enemy did some research on his background and knew he’s the current headmaster of his race. After their cold war, the vampire couldn’t help but to giggle softly before he continued.
“Impressive, you manage to hold your ground against me. It’s as expected from a headmaster of the Black Tengu’s race. At least this will make the game interesting for me.”
He treated everything as a game, and Ren didn’t like the way Mayu was doing. The biggest threat to Yuki would be this merciless duke. The moment he decided to use force to take Kashiwagi, he doubt anyone would be able to stop him. But then Mayu suddenly sparked another topic to the teacher and seemed to be a little serious.
“If you’re this smart, I bet you realize another guest joining eh?”

“Heh, it seems you do. I won’t let anyone interfere with my game. If he does, I will dispose him.”
“I doubt he would. He’s not as assertive as you guys.”
Mayu looked back at Ren and seemed to learn something nice from how he replied back to him. The teacher seemed to be standing his ground for this mysterious guest that would be joining with them.
“So you knew who is this person. Another domestic race again huh? When shall you introduce him to us? I wouldn’t want to kill him your acquaintance.”
“…He’s strong, Watanabe-sensei. If you underestimated him, you might lose to him.”
“Hehehe…! Me? Losing? Aren’t you looking down too much on me?”
“I’m merely stating a truth. You could consider a friendly warning. He is strong.”
An intense atmosphere built between the two of them before Mayu decided to leave. It was about time the lunch break was over and he had to return to his clinic room. However, it made him wondering who was this person that was an acquaintance with this nonhuman that was a domestic in the human world like the black tengu race.

The next day, the 2nd half of the day was a free time allowing the students to dedicate to preparing for the school festival. The girls measured the boys and girls that were going to dress up as butlers and maids on the day. The boys and other girls helped gathering props to make a decent café. They needed to go book nice chairs and tables from the school’s office before others would’ve taken it. Everyone helped each other making decorations and it was such a busy day. Yuki had to run to another storage house close by the gym that was out of the building to get some few more things that her class needed.
“Hey Yukirin, want us to come to help you?”
“That’s alright! It’s just few little things.”
“I’ll go with her don’t worry.”
Sae volunteered and went with Yuki to the storage house. As they headed to the storage room together, Kashiwagi felt slightly awkward that it’s just the two of them alone right now. Sae could see that she was a little uneasy and then he just gave her a pat on the head.
“W-What?”
“Take it easy. I’m not going to do anything. I’m having more fun with preparing this school festival.”
“Oh, ah…ok. I guess it’s not something you guys have, right?”
“We have formal dark elf ceremonies and festivals, but for entertainment and interesting like this…it’s my first time. I look forward to this so-called school festival!”
Yuki looked at him and saw his energetic smile. Maybe that was the first time she saw that from him as he usually have that flirtatious appealing smile to impress ladies. However, he just looked like a happy boy that was looking forward to this fun festival like any other students would be. That moment, Yuki felt that despite Yuko and Sae are nonhumans they’re not that different from anyone of them, including herself.
“…You really do look forward to it.”
“Of course! It looks so darn fun! I wish that our clan has something fun like this~”
“Hehe, I see.”
“What are you laughing at? Is there something funny?”
“I didn’t expect you to have such a side like this. I could see…both Yuko and you really seem to enjoy it.”
He smiled softly and nodded with agreement. For once he agreed that both Yuko and him could cooperate with each other was because of this school festival. They didn’t want anything to ruin it and wanted everything to run smoothly. So as they arrived at this storage room they went to pick up some old bags that had clean nice curtains.
“Now we got what we want. Let’s go back.”
“Yea—”
That moment, Sae felt a chill down his spine and had a moment of pause. He turned to the entrance of the storage house…there was a lady wearing such a baggy casual clothing but her red hair and eyes were reflecting the light. That moment Sae grabbed the wooden pendant before it turned into a bow. He made sure he was standing in between Yuki and this mysterious enemy that approached them.
“At times like this… why did they choose to appear now…!?”
“Dark elf huh? The power to control woods. Retreat when you have a chance, coward.”
“How dare you insult my people…!”
“Sae—”
“It’s alright, I’ll handle this bitch.”
“Are you sure what you’re saying? Insolent fool.”
The girl smirked and then the moment she snapped, Yuki could see flames flickering from her finger. Just like the color of her hair and eyes…she started to see the flames surrounding the girl’s hand along with that huge victory smirk across her face.
“We came to bring you back to our clan, Goddess of Life.”
She ran in and coated her fist with flames, however it didn’t make Sae run away despite his element was in a huge disadvantage. Dark elves control wood and flames would burn it down easily. He formed an arrow with his power and shot it out immediately with further ado, but then she used her flame palm to grab the arrow without fear. She smirked and shattered the energy arrow instantly before she rushed in closer to throw a knee into his stomach.
“…!?”
“How pitiful for you to confront a race that dominates yours? Poor dark elves have no match for us, flame salamanders.”
“S-Sae!”
“Get back Yuki!”
Sae stood up to protect his princess before he charged in again and used his bow to smack the female salamander. She grabbed it so to turn it into bits and it exploded immediately. She used the wooden bow as a fuel to create a small explosion that gave Sae a burned wound.
“I told you, you couldn’t match yourself against us…such a weak race like yours wouldn’t have a match against—”
“Shut up already!!!”
He punched right into her face and caused her to fly away. Despite he’s vulnerable in close range, he wouldn’t lose in terms of physical strength to a female salamander. He panted and felt the burn on his skin. As for Yuki, she was completely helpless with what to do, as she couldn’t obviously fight like Ren, Yuko, and Jurina. She’s just a normal girl.
“You’re surely getting on my nerves dark elf!!”
She snapped and then she summoned more of her friends. Yuki could see more humanoid salamanders all over the storage house. They were hiding inside here the whole time, waiting for Yuki to be alone so that they could take her. Sae was already in a tight spot with just one salamander already…he would be completely screwed to confront a whole team of them here.
“Damn you sneaky salamanders…! Just no different from that stupid wolf…”
“Don’t include us in that dirty category, but that’s alright. We’ll do all it takes to secure our clan’s survival. For our beloved leader, we shall take you with us, goddess of life.”
“…I’m not going with you. I’m not!”
Yuki started to stand on her ground, confronting the monsters in front of her. Sae could see the courage within the girl’s eyes and she rushed to his side and tried to protect him. It’s something he wouldn’t expect a human girl to protect a prideful dark elf like him…he could feel that Yuki was even trembling, she was actually afraid of those merciless salamanders.
“Boss said to take you alive, but having some burns should be okay as long as we accomplish our mission—”
“Hey, hey, hey. That’s not nice to hurt a harmless girl.”
The salamanders paused and turned to the door where they saw this dark indigo haired boy with those light blue eyes. He was leaning on the edge of the door and seemed to be rather so calm with the situation. He walked in and then passed the salamander girl with the calm smile across his face.
“Call it off okay? School is still on and there are many harmless students around here. Maybe next time.”
“Who the hell are you? Don’t you dare make orders with fiercely race like us—”
“I’m not making an order, I’m making an offer. Let’s not create a havoc.”
“Shut up! I might as well just burn you and that dark elf here!!! Burn them!!”
The girl ordered her teammates as they gathered their fire to throw in fireballs at the mysterious boy. However, that didn’t make him stun at the slightest. A huge explosion echoed in the storage house and smoke was covering everything. Sae and Yuki were in shock and wondering what was happening with this man, but the dark elf had some sort of sense about this mysterious man…that he’s definitely a nonhuman too.
“Well…it’s not nice to attack someone without talking clearly yet. That’s pretty rude though.”
The moment the smoke went down, everyone including Yuki could see this liquid barrier covering the harmless boy. He ruffled his head and sighed before turning to the salamander lady.
“Shall we stop now? Flame salamanders…it’s not nice to create a chaos here. That is your 2nd warning.”
“Y-You…”
“Those powers…h-he must be—”
Sae realized who the boy was and was in shock. He was even wearing the school uniform too so he’s a student. He raised his hand up and then the water barrier turned into cold icy mist. That boy turned to the leader of the salamanders and gave her the last warning before he wouldn’t show any mercy to them.
“This is your 3rd warning. It’s best not to push over the limits, please do leave now. This is a storage room that the school keep many things, I can’t afford to let it be burned down.”
“…Guys, kill them.”
The lady didn’t take his warning and continued to attempt to kill the boy and Sae. As they gathered their power to execute a deadly strike to burn this place down into pieces, Yuki was scared but then Sae ruffled her head to calm her down.
“Don’t worry…we’ll be fine. I think.”
“W-What do you mean?”
“Because…he’s a water manipulator, he’s a water dragon.”
“…What??”
Yuki looked at him and couldn’t believe that he’s a water dragon. That moment the enemies were about to release their flames out, he snapped his finger. That was a moment that the temperature around them dropped down instantly. Salamanders’ arms were covered with ice in a blink of an instant and they couldn’t gather their flame to even warm up their body. The coldness around them was too low that not even a fire-elemental nonhuman could tolerate.
“It is as you said, you shouldn’t mess with someone that’s a race that dominates yours, am I right.”
The flame salamanders controlled flame and trumped over the dark elves that controlled wood. However they were no match against water dragons that controlled water and ice. It was a big slap across the salamanders’ faces and that was when the dragon boy gave his last warning.
“Leave now… unless you’re not scared of being drowned.”
“D-Dammit…! Retreat!!”
The naughty salamanders left the area immediately without further ado. It was just the three of them left and then the air around them slowly returned back to normal. That was when he walked towards Sae and Yuki, but then the dark elf didn’t let his guard down at all and created an energy arrow in his hand, at least he could throw at him as a weapon.
“Are you guys alright? Thank god I made it on time. You got burned didn’t you?”
“I know why you’re here…you guys would still be my enemies!”
“Maybe not today. It’s my job to make sure everything in school is in order.”
“W-What?”
Sae was confused with what the boy was saying, and that was when both Mayu and Ren came see the commotion that was happening. The doctor just tagged along to come see the fun while Ren tried to explain Sae that this student boy was not a threat to them. Jurina also came with the two teachers and she rushed in to Yuki’s side immediately with worries.
“Yukirin! Are you okay!?”
“I’m okay Jurina, thanks to Sae…he protected me.”
“…I see.”
Ren went to the student’s side and gave him a tap on his shoulder. He did save both Sae and Yuki while protecting this storage house. Thanks to his nondestructive powers, he was capable for such a task like this.
“Thanks for chasing them away, Yui.”
“That’s alright, it will be a problem if they burn this storage house at this time of the year when the school festival is coming up.”
“As expected from the president of the student council.”
Ren smiled softly and it caught Yuki’s attention. She saw that student council banner around his arm. It seemed another nonhuman candidate that appeared was from a student council this time. He approached to Sae and knelt down in front of him to attend his burned wounds. The dark elf got tensed up but then Ren told him that it would be fine.
“He can help clean your wounds. Let him do.”
Yui coated his hand with water and then enveloped the burned injuries that he had, and it didn’t gave him any sting feeling at all. He felt rather comfortable and then the wound started to heal up quickly.
“Its not that bad and it should get well soon. It shouldn’t hurt now.”
“…It doesn’t. Wow, but I would still need to heal—”
“Let me.”
Yuki shifted and so she could place her hands close to the wound. The green sparkling aura emitted from her hand and everyone could see his wound healed up instantly like a miracle. It’s as expected from the goddess of life, her healing power is phenomenal. It seemed it was everyone’s first time to witness her powers.
“Oi! What happened!? I could smell those salaman— huh?”
“Aren’t you too late, wolf kid?”
“I’m not a kid, you bloodsucker!”
Yuko argued back and then realized that the fight was over. He listened to the story from Yui instead and it seemed more races were after Yuki. As all the nonhumans all gathered here, that was when Ren decided to introduce his friendly acquaintance that was in this school for a long while. He’s the president of the student council, while he’s the prince of the Water Dragon race, Yokoyama Yui.
“Nice to meet you, I’m Yokoyama Yui, I heard and had been watch you guys for a while since you kept causing a commotion in school.”
Yuko and Sae realized that this was directing at the two of them and felt uneasy. Despite Mayu created one of the biggest chaos in school, he was not affected by Yui’s talk at the slightest. Then suddenly, Yuko spoke up asking that whether Yui was also after Yuki too or not.
“Are you aiming to get Yuki-chan as well, didn’t you?”
“Hmm… I guess you could say that. My race is quite endangered right now…but I did heard about your ‘game’ to capture Kashiwagi-san’s heart. Isn’t?”
“You bet it! So you better join the game or else…”
“Don’t worry, I’m in! I like a peaceful way rather than doing it forcefully like thos flame salamanders.”
Yui smiled and accepted the conditions of the game immediately without any further questions. It made both Yuko and Sae approved Yui for joining them in the competition. So it seemed, the president was in a year higher than Yuki and others so he would be their senior in school. Despite there was more nonhumans that came after Yuki, she wasn’t as disturbed as before anymore…maybe she realized that these guys weren’t so bad as she thought. They’re not that different from any normal human. As time passed by…she didn’t realize she’s opening her heart more to these nonhumans and maybe there might be a day that she would fall for one of them…

As Yuko was so busy with helping the girls carrying the heavy loads, he didn’t realize that both Sae and Yuki were gone from the room. The moment he realized, he went to ask one of the girls regarding their whereabouts.
“Hey, where did Yuki-chan go?”
“She went to the storage house with Sae to get more curtains.”
“With Sae? That playboy! I’m going to go help them!!”
“H-Huh? Oshima-kun??”
The wolf boy sprinted to catch up with Yuki and Sae. He wouldn’t let the dark elf take the change to approach their princess. However since he was in a rush he didn’t see the girl carrying some big loads turning at the corner. The moment he realized he couldn’t stop in time and crashed into her.
“W-Whoa!?”
~CRASH!~
“Owww…what was that??”
“Ah, ouch…”
Yuko ruffled his head and he saw this longhaired brunette in front of him. She seemed to be so fragile and looked so innocent like a baby. She ruffled her head with confusion and quickly apologized to the wolf boy for the mess.
“I’m sorry! I’m sorry! Are you hurt? But who are you?”
That was going so fast that it made Yuko confused with her. He ruffled his head and slowly got up before he extended his hand to her to help get her up on her feet. He introduced himself to her and apologized instead since it was his fault after all for being careless.
“It’s my fault. I’m sorry! I’m Oshima Yuko.”
“Ah, you’re the transferred student that is so popular.”
“You heard about me? Hehe! I know I’m popular!”
“I guess so, nice to meet you Oshima-san.”
She didn’t seem to care about Yuko’s appealing and just picked up the bunch of cloths that were piling on the floor. It made the wolf boy felt uneasy and had to help this poor girl despite he was in a rush. He sighed and helped carrying it instead since his pride wouldn’t let the girl carry such a big load like this.
“Let me help you. Where are the fucking guys when you need? Such pussies.”
“They’re not that bad, I volunteered to come get it. I didn’t know it’s this much.”
“Whatever, they’re such a loser. So I’ll give you a hand, lead the way.”
“It’s okay though, I can carry all of it.”
“My pride is not letting me be a loser. Lead the way.”
Yuko argued back and the longhaired girl didn’t have the choice but to let him do what he wanted. She nodded while Yuko carried most of the loads and headed to the room that was not that far from where they were, but he realized that she was from the senior class.
“You’re a senior? You don’t look like one.”
“I got a lot of that from people.”
“You really do look super airhead though.”
“I got a lot of that too.”
“You’re such a weird person!”
“I got a lot of that too. I think I’m weird.”
“Hahaha! I like that. You’re a very interesting human.”
“Interesting human?”
“Nothing!”
“Ah, you’re just weird too.”
“HAHAHAHA!!! I think so?”
(Yuko: Well I’m not human. I guess it makes me weird)
She wasn’t affected by Yuko’s blunt talk and seemed to get along with him. They sure had a weird interesting talk despite they didn’t know each other before. The moment they arrived in the room, everyone was sure busy doing the haunted house. Yuko was dumbfounded and he looked around with surprise and excitement. However he just remembered that he had to catch up with Yuki and Sae. Time flew by so much without realizing it. However before he could leave, that longhaired girl came up to thank him for helping her.
“Oshima-san, thank you for helping me today, and nice to meet you.”
“Yuko is alright.”
“…Wait, you’re younger than me right?”
“I guess so, I’m your junior though!”
“Then Yuko-chan it is. I like that name more, it sounds cute.”
“Yuko-chan? Cute?? Me?? Aren't you just so weird?”
"Haha~ it just sounds cute, so I'll call you like that."
That wasn’t something that Yuko expected, but for some reason he didn’t feel that bad when this weird airhead girl wanted to call him Yuko-chan. He gave her a shrug and gave his farewells to his senior, Haruna.
“I’ll see you later Kojima Haruna…Kojima Haruna…then it will be Kojiharu-senpai! Since you gave me such a weird nickname, you get one too.”
“Haha! That doesn’t sound so bad. See you again Yuko-chan. Thanks for today.”
“No problem, if you need labor work again, I’m at your service Kojiharu-senpai. I better go now!”
He took off to go to the storage house where Yuki and Sae were, and that was when he sensed salamanders being active. He got so worried but then the scent just somehow disappeared. The moment he arrived was when everything ended. Sadly he wished he could take some action so he could kick those salamanders’ butts in order to impress Yuki in front of Sae. However, meeting with this airhead senior today did make his day in a way.

[SCENE VI: The Loafing Bird]

“Wah! We’re going to be late for class!!”
Yuki and Jurina were running up the hill to reach the school on time before the gates would be closed. The two girls woke up late and they rushed through the gates together on time and Yuki couldn’t help but to sigh with extreme relief.
“Awesome! We made it Jurina!”
“Jeez…we could’ve wake up earlier!”
“Its not really my fault here!”
Yuki is right. The reason she woke up late was because she exhausted herself from training yesterday with Ren and Jurina. After the situation with non-humans appearing into Yuki’s life, she started to consider finding a way to protect herself instead of always be completely dependent on the two of them. Yesterday, both Jurina and Ren helped educate Yuki regarding the world of non-humans that coexisted along with the human world. As a result…Ren taught the fundamental basic of using magic and divination to Yuki for self-protection. The black tengu clan was famous for Onmyoudo Arts as they were one of the special clans that could use magic and divination to purify spirits. Furthermore, humans with high spiritual talent were able to learn and acquire Onmyoudo Arts as well. The entire evening, Yuki had been spending time studying Onmyoudo Arts from her teacher, Ren, while Jurina stayed by Yuki’s side to protect her as usual. Jurina couldn’t stop being paranoid about Ren despite his intention to protect Yuki was sincere. As a result, she was exhausted from training and slept through her alarm this morning…

“Yuki-chan you’re late today! Overslept?”
The wolf boy approached her as she was sitting at her table. Yuki nodded and somewhat her answer made Yuko grinned energetically. He seemed to be imagining things beyond raven-haired woman’s expectations.
“Aw~ that’s so adorable. Next time I can be there to wake you up~”
“Maybe in the next million years, stupid wolf.”
The black elf appeared and he grabbed onto Yuko’s shirt from behind before pulling him away from Yuki without further ado. Obviously Oshima growled and grumbled under his breath while starting at Sae intensely. The two resumed their usual fight (over Yuki) once again and it’s becoming a routine in the classroom already. As the day went on as usual, today was another day that everyone would need to prepare more for the school festival. Right after the lunch break, their classes were cancelled for them to use this time valuably to finish the props before deadline. As Yuki was walking down the hallway with her Asuka and Aki, she accidentally saw Matsui-sensei standing outside while talking to this young man who looked quite messy. His hair was disheveled, his hat was slanted to the side, a number of necklaces and his dressing style looked as if he was rather unique: a white baggy t-shirt with black vest, and slightly shredded baggy navy jeans.
“Who is that…?”
She unconsciously looked at them until that anonymous man spotted Yuki staring at him from a distance away. However he didn’t show any slight interest in her and diverted his eyes back to Ren before passing him this brown object before he left the school ground. For some reason, Yuki felt rather attracted to him…but it wasn’t his appearance. It was something else that made her felt familiar about that man.
“Yukirin! What are you staring at? Hurry up!”
“S-Sorry mocchi!”
She quickly returned back to her job, but her mind was still wondering who that person was. She remembered that moment she made an eye contact with that man…there was something about him that somewhat caught her attention…

After the school was over. Both girls were waiting for their history teacher to come pick them up at the parking zone of the school. They made sure that they’re not standing in an opened area for other students to spot them…but it seemed the teacher was taking his time and forced the two students to wait for his arrival at their checkpoint. The archangel didn’t seem to be impressed and was about to lose her patient.
“Grr…where the hell is he??”
“Maybe he’s wrapping up things. Despite he’s a non-human…he’s still a teacher you know?”
“Yukirin, you’re too nice to Ren. Who knows he might be deceiving us?”
“C’mon Jurina…don’t be overly paranoid. Ren-san is not a bad person.”
“The black tengu’s race is one of the races that are extremely endangered, and you know what that means?”
Yuki paused for a minute and processed what Jurina threw at her. If Ren’s race had a high risk of extinction, then he would high likely be the potential individual that would desire Yuki’s body. Especially, with Ren as the headmaster of Black Tengu race…the pressure was definitely on him to mate with the goddess of life to ensure his race’s survival. Despite she understood that, Yuki wanted to trust the man. She couldn’t imagine Ren betraying her though…and she wished that he wouldn’t because he’s a non-human individual that she trusted the most aside from Jurina.
“You must be Jurina-sama and Kashiwagi-sama!”
The young childish voice came from behind and the two were confused. He appeared to be a little girl around 5-6 years old and was wearing a black baggy hoodie and shorts with slippers. She began sniffing and smiled once again as she confirmed their identity.
“Ren-sama asked me to guide you two! He can’t personally pick you up because it will cause too much commotion and unnecessary rumors.”
“R-Right…so where are we going?”
“Follow me~”
The girl walked off and both students didn’t have a choice but to follow her. They left the school and down the street without saying a single word. The girl only responded whenever Jurina or Yuki threw in a question and her answers were very simple, but yet she wouldn’t tell where they were going. Finally they turned down at the corner and then they stumbled in front of this huge wooden gate. It was as if they went back into Tokugawa era…
“Ren-sama is waiting inside!”
“This is his place?”
“The Black Tengu’s headquarters, or you can call it Matsui household! It’s our cover name.”
Yuki was still amazed with the entrance and then the wooden door beside the gate opened. The familiar man came out and he was still in his teaching outfit. He bowed to them softly and welcomed them with a smile.
“Thank you Airi-chan for escorting them here. That will be it, I’ll take over from here.”
“Okay!”
The young boy skipped passed Ren and went back into the house. The teacher finally walked up to the two students and apologized to them that he couldn’t personally pick them up because it would grab too much attention from the students and from other non-humans too. As they were about to enter the house, Jurina was too suspicious with the situation and refused to allow Yuki to step in.
“Isn’t this basically stepping into enemy’s territory? This is Black Tengu’s headquarters after all.”
“J-Jurina…!”
“…You’re actually right, Jurina. That’s why I gave Kashiwagi-sama the charm for her protection. That black feather charm in your pocket.”
Yuki was surprised that Ren realized that she kept it in her pocket. She took it out and then the man smiled before explaining to Jurina that as long as the raven-haired student carried that, no one will touch or harm her. Despite the explanation Jurina wouldn’t let her guard down, but only until Ren gave his extreme declaration…
“If anyone were to harm Kashiwagi-sama, I will personally slay that individual despite they are my people.”
“…You serious?”
“With my honor and blood, yes.”
“…”
“Please Jurina, trust Ren-san a little.”
Yuki tried to convince her and finally Jurina let it go. She nodded and accepted the situation before the group walked into the household…and it didn’t fail to amaze the two of them at all. As Ren guided them through the garden on the white pebble path…Yuki was dazed by the garden and scenery of the house. It was extremely a traditional house back in Edo era. She felt like she could walk around for the entire day without getting bored at all, but their little walking trip came to an end as they arrived at a training dojo. The moment they entered it was completely empty and lights entered from all directions to light up the entire dojo.
“This is a best place to train Onmyoudo Arts. This place is especially built for training since no one will be able to detect your presences as long as you remain in here. That’s why it is safe from even Black Tengu clan itself.”
“Wow…thank you Ren-san.”
“Your pleasure Kashiwagi-sama, and I’ve acquired this for you.”
Ren passed her an old brown book and it made Yuki remembered about her history teacher meeting with an anonymous man earlier today. Maybe it was this thing that he received from him. Yuki couldn’t help but to be curious and asked him about it.
“Did you receive the book from this messy-looking man…? Well, today at school I saw you receiving something from him.”
“Oh? Yes, he’s a good friend of mine. He’s a book collector and a very knowledgeable person too. I asked him to find a book about this particular type of Onmyoudo Arts, which suits you. Do take a look.”
Yuki took a look at the content without further ado while Jurina had a peek over her shoulder as well. The content of the book revolved around sealing, defensive, and healing arts. Ren explained that Black Tengu clan had a large amount of Onmyoudo books but it all specialized striking arts than to be healing arts because Black Tengu were not capable for it. However, if it were Yuki she would be able to learn and perform healing arts easily without a hustle.
“T-Thank you so much Ren-san. This is…wow.”
“Not at all Kashiwagi-sama. I want to help you out, and I can understand how you feel too. I used to be very weak and wanted to protect myself instead of relying on others to look out for me.”
Yuki started to feel some sort of connection towards Ren. They do share similarities with one another and that was why he was able to relate to how Yuki felt. Without further ado, Yuki began learning how to control her spiritual energy and apparently she was a fast learner too. In a few hours, she was able to create a small transparent barrier around her. She was able to use 1st tier defensive arts under Ren’s guidance.
“Oh wow…Yukirin you did it!!”
“I-I…I did it? Wow…”
“Aside from that, we have to test your barrier’s strength too. It is extremely dangerous if you do not know your defensive skill’s limitations.”
“How?”
“…Jurina-san, do you want to be the one or shall I?”
“I will do it.”
Jurina took a step forward and then tightened her fist as she activated her archangel’s power. Her eyes changed and turned from brown to icy light blue…and she went into a solid stance right in front of her friend. Obviously the young beginner was extremely nervous but then Ren told her to relax and be confident with her own powers. Spiritual energy is directly dependent to one’s mind stability and thus there is no room for doubts or hesitation in one’s capability.
“Ready?”
“…Yes, I am.”
“Alright, I’ll start at low before I go higher…”
Jurina took another deep breath before throwing in her fist into Yuki’s barrier. In that instant, the young beginner obviously flinched with surprise but then she realized that Jurina didn’t reach her…she opened her eyelids again and saw archangel’s fist unable to break through her barrier and a surge of delight rushed up her face.
“I-I did it…! Jurina! I did it!”
“Nice~ that’s amazing Yukirin!”
“Let’s continue!”
“Jeez, someone is getting excited.”
“Hehe~ I guess I am.”

The training went on and they were all doing couple of tests on Yuki’s defensive art to see where its limits touched. However, it wasn’t that long that Jurina angelic power was able to break her barrier and made the raven-haired stumble backwards.
“So it can withstand up to only 30%...if its more than that the barrier will break.”
“Ehhh…just 30% of your strength Jurina?”
“Jeez Yuki, you’re not a god! Despite you’re a goddess, this is just your first day and this much is already amazing.”
“I guess I’ll train more and so I could at least protect myself from pursuing me again…and I want to be able to protect everyone too.”
“Don’t worry about it, I’ll protect you silly.”
Jurina went in and gave a little nudge right onto her friend’s forehead before letting out a smile of happiness. It seemed Ren called the end of today’s training because it would be a little too overwhelmed if Yuki pushed on more than this. However before they could leave…Ren turned to the entrance of the dojo as there was someone standing and watching Yuki training the entire time.
“What do you think, Rino?”
“Eh??”
Both girls was surprised at the same time hearing Ren talking to someone aside from them that were in the dojo. They turned to the entrance as well and saw the messy-looking man standing there. Apparently it was the same man that Yuki saw at school… Obviously the archangel was shocked that she couldn’t detect his presence at the slightest. However, it gave Jurina a confirm that this dojo was special just like what Ren said…despite he was right in front of her, she couldn’t detect his presence or power at all.
“Y-You’re that guy at school…”
“30% barrier tolerance in two hours. That is some mad talent…as expected from the goddess of life.”
Jurina flinched and got out her white naginata, but he showed no signs of fear. She had a gut feeling saying that this man is definitely not a human…but she couldn’t sense even a slightest power from him, which made her extremely cautious. However, Ren explained to the young archangel before she could hurt his acquaintance unnecessarily.
“He is my acquaintance, the book collector that gave you the Onmyoudo Arts book.”
“O-Oh…”
The man looked pretty inert and he slowly walked up to Yuki but it made her archangel guardian tensed up. This time, the raven-haired goddess walked up to her friend’s side and tapped on her shoulder to lower her guard down a little.
“Its okay Jurina, I do owe him for lending me that book.”
“…Fine, if you say so Yukirin.”
“Hmmmm, Kashiwagi Yuki is it?”
The man spoke up again and Yuki nodded nervously, he finally approached her and took a look around the raven-haired girl as if he could see something that normal eyes couldn’t. Obviously the two girls diverted their eyes to Ren and then he chuckled wryly while telling them that Garuda’s eyes were special than any normal eyes…as they were able to see energy wave in all living souls.
“Probably Rino is spectating your energy wave, Kashiwagi-sama.”
“M-My energy wave?”
“Hmmmmmmmmmmmm…intriguing. It’s as expected from an energy wave of goddess of life’s reincarnation. I need to record this down…please stay still.”
He pulled out a sketchbook from his shoulder bag and began sketching Yuki out of blue without exchanging any words with the girls at all. He began scribbling swiftly and writing down important notes as if he found a new undiscovered specie and must acquire as much information as he could. Ren ruffled his head before he could only tell them that this man is very unique and weird in his way. It took him a couple of minutes to finish his data collecting before he turned to Jurina to ask her a question.
“You call her Yukirin? That’s her nickname?”
“Yeah?”
“OK, so Yukirin it is.”
The boy turned to goddess before bowed his head down towards her. He surely had a formal approach to Yuki and then he raised his head back up again before introducing himself to her.
“Sashihara Rino, a member of Garuda clan. Nice to meet you Yukirin.”
“Garuda huh?”
“Rest assured archangel, despite I’m from the head chief’s bloodline, I don’t care about this mating with the goddess to prevent clan extinction. My fellow older brothers can do that instead. I don’t really care about of clan extinction.”
“W-What?”
“As long as I can discover new things and read books. I’m happy.”
This man surely was unique and different from any other non-humans that Jurina and Yuki met. He did not care about his clan at the slightest and it was as Ren told them, he’s very unique and weird in his way. He could be seen as a very indulgent person since he would live his own way without caring about others.
“You’re interesting Yukirin. Your energy wave…this could lead to a new world record about the goddess of life! So, be my subject for my new recording log.”
“E-Eh??”
“Oi, Yukirin is not some animal!”
“In exchange, my powers shall be your sword and my knowledge shall be your shield. Deal?”
This garuda man easily offered a deal to Yuki that he would be her alliance as long as she allowed herself to be the subject of his new recording log. She slowly diverted her eyes to Ren and it seemed he expected that coming…and it made her realize that he could trust this man a little…because he confronted Yuki blunting and straightly without anything to hide from her. She could feel that he was merely interested in observing and studying her than to save his own clan from going through extinction.
“…Alright, deal.”
“Yukirin—!”
“We don’t exactly have a choice Jurina, I think this is best for us…but I have a question to ask you Sashihara-san.”
“Yah?”
“What if our enemy is your brothers? Are you still going to be my sword?”
“Sure, that’s the part of the deal.”
He talked so casually as if he didn’t care about his own siblings or his clan’s survival. He simply doesn't give a crap of anything, furthermore his inert expression and appearance sure suited with that character. All he care right now is to observe Yuki and take records of her progress and evolution out of pure curiosity and interest. Ren finally walked up to them and hoped that his explanation would help Yuki and Jurina make their decision to accept Sashihara as a part of their alliance.
“The reason I introduced you to him is that he’s will be a good alliance for you. I believe you’ll learn a lot from him and it will definitely benefit you.”
“How certain is he trustworthy?”
Jurina spoke up and then Ren turned to her without any doubts in his eyes. He somewhat trusted this man named Sashihara to quite an extent.
“He’s a good friend, trust me.”
“…Alright, then I’m good with our alliance deal, Sashihara-san.”
“Sweet~ Sasshi is fine, that’s my nickname at my clan.”
She met a new non-human and formed an alliance pact with one another: partners of benefits. No one knows how long this would last, but at the very least this would be the best option for Yuki and Jurina to go with. Judging from how there was an increase of non-humans trying to pursue Yuki…its best to have alliances that didn’t aim to mate with her like Yuko, Sae, and Mayu. For the raven-haired goddess to obtain an ally similarly to Ren made her mind rest in ease a little more than before. She decided to keep train with her arts and under Sashihara’s knowledge, Ren’s guidance, and Jurina’s protection…she would be able to deal and handle with this escalating situation. She seemed to have such a strong determination to train even harder to become more reliable to Jurina and others. She had a moment of flashback when Sae protected her but ended up terribly injured…and if it wasn’t for Yui that came to save them then who knew what would happen to the two of them. She didn’t want that to happen again and she started to take some actions…finally, she unconsciously accepted and decided to confront this destiny of hers.

The young girl stood before the raven-haired friend and her icy blue orbs gradually succumbed the brunette eyes as she extended her palm towards another individual. While she chanted under her breath, holy rings began appearing and condensing light around the two of them into a huge holy dart. It was ready to be shot any moment and the shorthaired brunette took a deep breath before she took a proper aim at her opponent.
“…Release!”
The eagerly holy arrows were released from its grasp as it launched committedly towards her. However that young looking girl in plain comfortable casual outfit didn’t seem to be worried at all. The moment those holy arrows were about to reach its target, it dispersed into bits when it made contact against an invisible barrier around her. Using that opportunity, the young blue eyes girl already launched herself forward towards her enemy and gripped her fist tightly. She was intending to shatter the barrier by force, and her opponent wouldn’t allow her do such a thing. The Kashiwagi lady stretched her hand forward to accept her opponent’s strike without fear. An immense pressure began accumulating as the holy force clashed against the invisible barrier. It’s indeed a competition between the two forces to see which will be triumph over. Matsui girl poured in more force and was able to push her partner back while she’s getting closer to breaking Yuki’s defense. It gradually bent in towards her and Jurina gave a last spurt of her energy to surpass the barrier’s elasticity in order to shatter it into bits.
“YAAAAH!!!”
She gave an instant fist snap into Yuki’s invisible barrier and it bent in even more. However, the smart raven-haired lady pulled her hand back without Jurina expecting that and caused the young Matsui to lost some slight balance.
~THUDDDD!!!!~
In that blink of a second, Jurina was tackled by Yuki’s available left palm and she felt tremendous pressure attacking her organs. At least the power wasn’t deadly but she actually had a moment of anaphylaxis because that energy force was suppressing against her diaphragm and lungs. She wasn’t able to fight that pressure back and bounced right away before she could even break Yuki’s defense. Before Jurina could crash onto the floor, she recovered in midair and was able to land with her feet before standing up painfully.
“That’s enough, that should be a good enough training for the day.”
“J-Jurina! Are you okay!? Did I hurt you??”
“Don’t worry I’m cool! That just make me choke a little, but aside from that I’m good!”
Jurina smiled widely so that she wouldn’t make Yuki worried about her. Ever since that day, Yuki had been serious with training everyday at Ren’s place and it had been a week since then. At very least other non-humans wouldn’t know and find her training to protect herself from danger. Not only Ren was as Yuki’s instructor, his friend, Rino, was also there too. He took records down on his specimen’s improvement and right after Yuki’s training he went up to her and observe her closely in case he missed any detail.
“Hmmm, your energy capacity seemed to increase a little more. Ah I see…there is a pattern… the more you push over your limits the more it raises your energy capacity level.”
“O-Okay?”
Even though she went through this with Sashihara everyday, she could never get used to it yet. While Rino was doing his evaluation on Kashiwagi, Ren went up to the young archangel and passed this tiny black pill to her. Before Jurina could say anything to refuse the offer, he silenced her first by doing the talk first.
“It’s not just a choke, isn't? You’ve been enduring numerous reversal strikes to the point you’re actually injured. This pill will help you recover in a much faster rate than how you currently could, and don’t worry there’s no poison. I refined it myself. Kashiwagi-sama would be worried about you if she found out you’re injured because of her. So, the best is to heal before she figured it out.”
“…Fine.”
She took the pill reluctantly and swallowed it without further ado. The moment she turned to look at him she realized he was smiling at her. Despite her arrogant and rude attitude she displayed towards him, it didn’t waver Ren’s goodwill intention for her.
“Doing spiritual meditation will make healing process faster, but don’t push yourself too hard, Jurina-san.”
“I don’t need you to tell me that.”
“Haha, right.”
He only smiled before he turned his glance over to the young goddess whom was busy with Rino at the moment. Ren decided to call an end for today’s training since it wouldn’t be good for both Jurina and Yuki. Rino took off after he was done collecting data from Yuki’s training, and the young teacher dropped off his students in front of his home.
“Please rest well. I’ll see you tomorrow at school.”
“Thank you for today Ren-san.”
The two ladies left and only Yuki was the one that waved back to the man. The young archangel still couldn’t allow herself to be friendly with the tengu man. Who knows if he actually had any plans underneath his sleeves? It could be possible that he was trying to buy Yuki’s affection by showering good deeds he did for her unlike other nonhumans they met. If something like that were to happen, as her guardian, Jurina must ensure that she was accomplishing her sole life duty.
“Yukirin, make sure you rest okay? If you feel anything odd or something, give me a call immediately.”
“Don’t worry Jurina, I’ll be fine.”
Yuki couldn’t help but to smile while she leaned in closer to her childhood friend as they walked back home together. Her little mad dog guardian was surely very overprotective on her to the point that it became Jurina’s charm. The day proceeded on as a routine: Jurina dropped Yuki at the front of her house, followed with Yuki took a shower and worked on her school works in the living room until dinner. However there would be occasions that she was asked to go do grocery shopping for her mother since she forgot to buy some few things in the afternoon.
Unfortunately, even before Yuki could sit down and relax after her long hours of training with Ren… her mother ordered her to go to the plaza market close by to get some groceries she forgot to buy in the afternoon. At least it was just about 10 minutes of walking from her home to the market district.
“Okay…what do I have to get…OH! Salmon! Then I have to find the fish store…”
Yuki walked into the plaza district and it was still packed with adults doing grocery shopping. As she glanced her eyes everywhere, she finally spotted one to the left with a familiar name. She felt as if she heard that name somewhere but she couldn’t exactly recall where she heard it.
“Yokoyama…Ehh…I heard that name before.”
“Oh, isn’t that Kashiwagi-san?”
She turned around as she heard the boy’s voice coming from behind. The moment she turned around her eyes met with this young teenage boy with dark indigo hair. He had this waterproof apron and a towel wrapped around his head. That moment was when Yuki remembered where she heard that name…it was student council president’s name, Yokoyama Yui.
“Y-Yokoyama-san??”
“What a surprise to see you here, I’m certain you are here for shopping?”
“Y-Yeah, my mom asked me to come get some salmon and other stuffs. She forgot to buy some today.”
“Sure, how many grams you needed?”
“Eh?”
“I work at this fish market store, it’s owned by my relatives.”
Yui only smiled and welcomed Yuki to his fish market store. The man went to give his service to his customer after he unloaded box filled with fishes behind the display window. He sure knew a lot of fishes as he gave good recommendations to Yuki about which fish to cook when making certain menus. The young raven-haired student was astonished with the amount of information and details the student council president knew about fishes.
“I’ll get you this salmon, I presumed you want the head too?”
“That will be great please.”
“No worries. Do you want to come in and have a watch?”
“Eh?”
Yui took the salmon out from the display window and placed it gently onto the big chopping board. He grabbed this sharp knife especially for breakdown a big fish. Yuki watched the president did his magic on the salmon as he removed the bone and meat swiftly and easily as if it was already removed to begin with. In less than a minute, Yui placed his knife back onto the table and packaged the salmon meat very delicately for his customer.
“W-Wow, that’s some amazing skills.”
“Fish is our staple food, so we all sea serpents know how to break down fishes.”
“So this place is run by…”
“Yup, sea serpents. Not just this shop, many other shops in this market district is owned by us, since this is actually our land territory.”
“W-Whoa, I never knew that…I’ve been here so many times and I thought everyone are humans.”
“Haha, we have been living along side with humans for a very long time already. We’ve grown accustomed to how human society works, and learned to blend in.”
“But…well, if you don’t mind me asking this out of curiosity…?”
“That, why we chose to live along with humans instead of isolating ourselves like other do? Am I right?”
Yuki was surprised that Yui read her mind so easily and let out a satisfactory smile as he managed to guess what’s in her mind. He started explaining a long history of the sea serpent clan simultaneously working on packaging fishes into the storage icebox. Yui explained the entire beginning in order for the young goddess to understand the situation, since all of these things would be fairly new to her.
Sea serpent was one of the races bestowed with long life expectancy comparing to other races. They only have two offspring to replace the parents’ place in the future. Their population density was maintained and remains unchanged for countless centuries. They were known to be one of the famous three ancient races that coexisted with beings that human called dinosaur. Firstly, thunderbirds, known to possess the knowledge of the world ever since it exist and answers to all questions in the world. However they don’t live as long comparing to other two. Next, sea serpents, known to be the guardian of the ocean and maintains peace in the world. They do not form alliances with anyone aside from the other two ancient races. Lastly, the formidable white dragon race, also known as mother dragon and the strongest of all races. They’re the judges of the world that maintains the balance and harmony…like a mother watching the children and make sure they don’t fight. Some other races including the sea serpents co-exist and live along side with humans despite the big gap in their lifespan. Yui personally believed that this is the best approach to mend humans and non-humans together.
“You see, not all primordiums are nasty like what you humans think. I believe out of all humans, you should know best since you encountered a lot of good primordiums yourself.”
“Primordiums?”
“Ah right, pardon me, you must be familiar with the term ‘non-human’ more, don’t you? However according the world’s ecosystem, we’re known as primordiums…which means beginning or origin.”
“Beginning…”
“It wouldn’t be fair for us to be called non-humans, considered we existed and live before humans start to exist. That’s why a lot of primordiums do take it as an offense when one called them a non-human.”
Yuki was amazed with the knowledge she was taking in…but what surprised her was that she felt familiar with all these things Yui was explaining to her. It was like she knew these things but don’t at the same time. She easily absorbed all the information that was thrown at her like a sponge. Without further ado, Yuki apologized to him after she felt guilty for always calling them non-humans for the entire time.
“I’m sorry…I’ve been using the term non-human the entire time, but I’m really happy you told me this. Thank you Yokoyama-san.”
“Heh…you’re very kind, Kashiwagi-san. With someone like you exist among the human race, it does give me hope that one day we can coexist together without having any boundaries between humans and primordiums. ”
“Yokoyama-san…”
Yuki watched the boy without diverting her eyes away. She could see the hope in his glimmering blue eyes. She could tell that he wasn’t lying to her and his determination was real…he actually wished for the primordiums like them and humans to exist together, and his determination actually touched Yuki’s heart. It was as expected from the student council president…and the representative of the sea serpent race. Yui’s genuine wish attracted her unconsciously, and it made Yuki wanted to know about him even more. The more she got closer to the primordiums…the more she felt connected and related to them. However, in that midst of silence, Yui passed over a bag of salmon meat the young girl ordered and that caught her attention.
“I'm sorry to keep you up. Considered this as my gift for making you listen to me for this long.”
“No no it’s okay! I can pay—”
“It’s all good, then do consider as a free service for 1st time customer.”
He insisted Yuki had it for free and she reluctantly took it without further ado. She took it and was happy how she was surrounded by kind primordiums like Ren and others. In Yuki’s point of view, Sae and Yuko weren’t actually that bad. They have a good and warming heart. The more the young student interacted with them…the more she felt that heartwarming feeling. Somewhat she imagined a world without discrimination between humans and primordiums…and excluding the hunting goddess of life situation…Yuki would actually enjoy that kind of world more than the current human world. She wondered why, maybe it was because of the goddess of life’s influences…maybe she grew up with a primordiums for her entire life? All the wonders and curiosity everywhere, but Yuki was certain of her feelings despite whatever reason it could be.
“…It will be nice if we can live together.”
“Huh?”
“We’re not that different from each other. We all have hearts, feelings, and thoughts. A world that we all can live together in harmony…It will be nice it if happens.”
“Kashiwagi-san…”
Yui was in silence, but then he let out a warm smile that caught Yuki’s attention. It was actually an encouragement to him to not give up on his beliefs. He couldn’t help but thanking this girl in front of her from the bottom of his heart and he bowed his head down towards to her without further ado.
“Those words meant a lot to me…thank you.”
After their conversation ended, Yuki still need to continue her quick detour around the market to buy the remaining things her mom needed for dinner tonight. Obviously she wasn’t well aware with her surroundings since there was a large number of people here so it would be hard for any primordiums to sneak and kidnap Yuki in public…however, it made it easier for them to spy on her.
“Hmm…I got the radish, potato, banana, apple, and ice tea…okay, I think I’m good.”
Yuki had a glance up into the sky and realized that sun was setting. She felt that it was about time she should head home before it would get too late and dangerous. Jurina had been pounding on her regard her safety and current status as the biggest target among all primordiums races. Enemies could be spying and sneaking up on her back anytime when she was least aware of her surroundings. As she was heading out, a group of men walked up to her from behind and accidentally bumped into her while pretending it was an accident.
“Whoa! I’m sorry!”
Both the man and Yuki apologized to each other, but the young girl became less aware of her back. Another men came from behind and had a handkerchief in his hand without letting Yuki realize it. He hid his presence very well to ensure no one could interrupt their mission and right before he could attempt to smother her, a top toy hit his head from behind out of no where.
“O-Ow!!”
Yuki was caught off guard and the moment she turned around she was shocked to see another man behind her with that suspicious behavior. She instinctively pushed the one in front of her before running away from them. However, she wasn’t dealing with an ordinary thief…since it was the primordiums that came for her. He managed to grab onto Yuki’s wrist on time and pulled her back so she wouldn’t be able to escape away. Without further ado, the young girl threw another top at another guy, and unfortunately he managed to catch it before it hit his face.
“Let neechan go!”
“Get lost kiddo…if you value your life I shall spare you.”
“You’re the one that needs to leave, or else we won’t spare you.”
“How haughty, I guess I should teach you a lesson—”
“You two gentlemen, do you need anything with Maachun?”
A cold low tone voice came out of nowhere and the two guys were shocked to see this young teenage in front of them…but had this intimidating air around him. Their instinct warned them not to mess with him…because he’s a primordium like them, and probably much stronger than the two of them together too. The moment the savior girl saw the young man; she beamed out a huge smile across her face with much delight in her voice and eyes.
“Yuihan! Yay Yuihan is here!”
“Y-Yokoyama-san!”
“Please let go of her if you may, she is my guest of honor.”
“Who the hell are you to order us as if you’re our boss? Heh, why should we let the goddess go? You want her too don’t you?”
The enemy tried to provoke Yui, but his expressed barely change. He was not moved or bothered by their provoke at the slightest. However, before the two gangsters could say or do anything else, he suddenly disappeared from their sight and the man that was grabbing onto Yuki felt that cold touch on his arms. He blinked with surprise and he suddenly saw that young man from the corner of his vision. His body literally froze on that spot and Yuki was equally shocked as well.
“First warning, please leave and you’ll be unharmed, young fellow werefoxes.”
“Y-You…!”
“You came to the wrong place…because this place is our territory.”
The two werefoxes felt murderous glares coming from every direction and once they threw their glances around…they finally realized a mixture of adults, teenagers, and kids with those blue predacious snake eyes. What could be worse than being caught in the middle of another primordium’s territory? If they were beaten up into pulp, it would still be their fault for invading into another race’s area without permission or peace. It was indeed a lose-lose situation for them.
“…So be it.”
The two werefoxes decided to retreat for now. They abandoned their mission for the day and swore they would come back to take what they wanted. Once they left, young Maachun ran up to him and hugged tightly around Yui’s waist.
“I protected neechan! I did well right?”
“Hehe, yes Maachun, you did well.”
Yui let out such a gentle smile while he patted the little girl’s head. That was when everyone started coming out from the shops and that was when Yuki couldn’t believe her eyes. This was the first time she was surrounded with this large number of sea serpents, but yet she wasn’t scared at the slightest. Instead, she felt so secure and safe for some reason.
“Kashiwagi-san, are you okay?”
“Y-Yeah, thanks to everyone…thank you, everyone.”
“Don’t worry ojou-chan~ If anyone tries to hurt you let aunty know.”
“That’s right. We won’t tolerate anyone for making a ruckus in our territory.”
Both aunt and uncle of the vegetable shop replied back to Yuki with a very warm gentle smile. They were somewhat treating yuki like their grandchild and displayed a protective role for her safety. After that another girl came up to her from behind and pulled on the goddess’s shirt.
“If oneechan needs help, we’ll protect you! We got Yuihan, so we can beat up all the bad guys!”
Yuki was shocked and that was when she had a moment of short eye contact with Yui. He only nodded with a smile and ensured her that she would have the sea serpent’s protection whenever she was in danger. In that midst of moment, another uncle from a candy shop came up to her and couldn’t help but to give a close look on her.
“Y-Yes?”
“Eh! This time, the goddess of life is a young normal girl. She’s so harmless!”
He was very friendly, or in fact too friendly. He gave Yuki a smack on the shoulder while he let out his laugh wildly with slight excitement. A teenage girl walked up to Yui’s side and crossed her arms in front her chest, she seemed to agree with that uncle’s statement and expanded from there. Her voice caught Yuki’s attention first before she could turn around to look at whom it was. The moment she turned was when she had a shocked even more was that she knew that girl. She was actually from her school, the same year as her, her very own friend, and the vice president of the student council. She had a moment she was out of words to say and stared back at her classmate with full-blown surprise.
“Despite you're the goddess we’re targeting, you’re still a mortal…and with our honorable sea serpent blood, we vowed to guard and protect humans as long as we live. You’re welcome here, Yukirin.”
“H-Haruka-chan!? S-So you’re—”
“Ugh, this is why I don’t want to reveal myself, Yui.”
“C’mon Paruru, eventually Kashiwagi-san will know about you anyway.”
“Hmph…”
The young goddess was in shock to learn that her friend, Shimazaki Haruka, turned out to be another sea serpent like Yui as well. But in that midst of confusion, other primordiums supported Haruka’s statement and confirmed that Yuki would be 100% safe as long as she’s within their territory. They promised they would not harm her or let any harm get to her.
“I like neechan! So I’ll protect neechan too!”
“You’re safe here ojou-chan, make yourself at home whenever you step into our territory.”
“E-Everyone…”
Yuki smiled after realized how kind everyone is to her despite knowing she’s goddess of life, she finally understood what Yui meant by a lot of nice primordiums out there. Everyone was being very honest and kind to her. Despite she was their target; they did not forcefully kidnap her like how other primordiums races do. They gave her respect as a human, and Yuki could feel it. She did not have any solid reason to believe them…but her gut feeling said that she could trust them. That young girl was still holding onto Yuki’s shirt and then she slowly moved her hand to pat the little girl’s head. Her respond was something that Yuki would never forget for the rest of her life. She smiled back to her and snuggled up closer to her. These people are not different from humans…or they might be even better than humans themselves. After Yuki spent a little time with the sea serpents in the market plaza, Yui, Haruka, and Maachun offered to walk her home in case the werefoxes attempted to ambush on her.
“Really, thank you so much for today Yokoyama-san.”
“All good, and Maachun seemed to take a like of you.”
Yui was referring to this little girl that was holding onto Yuki’s hand while they were heading over to her home. She enthusiastically smiled at her and it warmed up Yuki’s heart even more. This little girl saved her, and the young goddess could feel the pureness of her heart too.
“You’re very special, Kashiwagi-san. Its rare for a sea serpent to become attached to someone like this. You indeed have a special charm.”
“I guess because I’m a reincarnation of the goddess of life?”
“Maybe, but either way the kids like you, I believe Maachun and other kids would love to see you again.”
“I’ll make sure I find the time to visit.”
“Really neechan? Promise?”
“I promise Maachun.”
“Yukirin, you better be more careful. More enemies will come and if you want to be safe you better start acting like an important person.”
Haruka spoke up while she was walking right behind Yui and her at the moment. It seemed it was still a little awkward between the two of them since they were pretty close in one of the subjects they had together…but now that Yuki discovered Haruka’s true identity, it made the young primordium wondered whether things would be the same or not.
“Haruka-chan…”
“Hmph.”
“C’mon Paruru, you two are good friends aren’t you?”
“Mind your business, Yui.”
“Haha, yes ma’am.”
Yuki could tell that the two of them are very familiar with one another, but likely because both of them were from the same race. Despite how blunt Haruka’s words were, she was right, if Yuki don’t consider herself the priority of all primordium races right now…she wouldn’t be as cautious as she should be. She smiled softly before she turned around to make an eye contact with Haruka.
“You’re right Haruka-chan…thanks for the warning.”
“…You’re just too soft, Yukirin. You’re just so unaware of how important your role is.”
“Then… will you keep scolding me if I do stupid things again?”
“It’s not my job to keep babysitting you. Did you forget you’re also our target too?”
“Of course not, but I know you wouldn’t hurt me…I wonder why but I know you wouldn’t. I know I can trust you.”
“…Goddess or not, you’re bloody naïve and annoying as always, Yukirin.”
It appeared like the two were fighting, but judging from that satisfaction smile on Yuki’s face everything went well. It was their unique way of reconcile with each other. In a couple of minutes they finally arrived at the front of Yuki’s house, and it was the time for they to separate once again.
“Thank you so much for today Yokoyama-san…and I did have a thought about it.”
“Hm?”
“…I want to believe it too, that one day, humans and primordiums can live together without discriminations. I want to see that day come, so please don’t give up on us, the foolish humans.”
“…Thank you, Kashiwagi-san. Those words meant so much to me. You really made my day, and I’ll see you tomorrow at school. Also…I think just Yui will be fine. I’m glad we have a talk today and I’m sure we’ll be good friends from now.”
“I’m sure we will, Yui-san.”

The day slowly went on and after dinner, Yuki called Jurina over for a talk and she told her the story of what happened today. Obviously her guardian angel was utterly worried and scolded Yuki for not calling her. However, Yuki told her how much comfort she received today from the sea serpent clan despite she was their ultimate target. They protected her and she felt that she could trust them without doubt.
“Are you sure you can trust them? They might be hiding their true intentions behind their back.”
“I’m sure they’re not. I just…know they’re not lying. They’re speaking with their hearts, and with pride of their own race. It’s so weird, but it’s just my gut feeling.”
“…If you insisted that they could be trust, then I’ll go with that then.”
“Aw Jurina~ you’re just so sweet!”
“U-Uwah!? Y-Yukirin it’s ticklish!”
The goddess jumped into her guardian and hugged her tightly with a huge delightful smile. Sometimes Jurina could have such a mad dog attitude, but she would always give up and become very soft with her. That was Jurina’s ultimate charm and Yuki just loved that side of hers. After they spent enough time together, Jurina had to leave before it would get too late. They wouldn’t want to miss their precious hours or sleep since they both have an early school day tomorrow once again.
“Good night Jurina! See you tomorrow.”
“I’ll come pick you up as usual. Don’t leave without me.”
“Yes ma’am.”
Jurina watched her goddess walked back into her home and that was when she let out a worried expression. After hearing Yuki’s story about the sea serpents and werefoxes…she realized that the situation was about to escalate soon. However, what worried her more was about her Yuki.
“To feel and touch one’s naked heart and soul…is the goddess of life’s speciality. This... is the first sign of goddess’s awakening.”
Nothing could hide from goddess of life’s power. She could reach down to people’s true nature and bring out the truth without fail. That skill would definitely come in handy and protect Yuki, however it was a huge sign to goddess’s awakening. Just like a fruit, as the fruit grew and became ripe…that was when animals started to hoard in to eat that delicious fruit. Furthermore, Jurina could still feel her muscles aching from the attack Yuki executed onto her...if it wasn't for the medicine Ren gave her she probably would have a difficult time hiding it. Yuki's powers were getting stronger and goddess of life's powers are awaken within her as each second passed by... That situation could be compared to Yuki’s and it made Jurina realized that the real fight is imminent and inevitable.

“…Ugh, you are so slow.”
This short person turned around to Yuki. However, she couldn’t see her face…it was covered with shadow. She knew this person but at the same time she couldn’t remember anything at all. The raven-haired girl was panting as she was trying to catch up with this boyish girl in front of her. What caught her attention was this person’s long ponytail, and that long red scarf that seemed to be oversized for that individual.
“C’mon, or else we’ll take forever to arrive at our destination.”
“Hehe, okay.”
She had a feminine voice but yet very husky tone. She sighed before extending her hand towards Yuki and the young girl grabbed onto it without further ado. Somewhat, she felt so relieved and secured when holding that hand…but she didn’t know this person at all.

The usual school alarm woke Yuki up and it seemed like she had a very long dream. The moment she slowly got up from bed, she was a little dizzy and confused with what was going on. She had countless of dreams before but this one felt too real to not be suspicious about it. In that dream world, she felt nostalgic…and felt like she’s being somewhere she belonged to. She felt like as if she’s at home.
“…What was that anyway…what’s that dream?”
The young girl went through her routine to get ready for school. However, she started to realize things around her are changing. Every morning, Jurina would come to her door and walk with her to school. Yuki was getting used to this lifestyle of being overprotected by her archangel guardian and other friendly primordiums she encountered. She sat in her class and spent her time with her friends as usual too. Every morning Yuko and Sae would come greet Asuka, Aki, and her like usual. The five of them would always chat in the morning and occasionally Jurina would be joining the conversation due to her protectiveness over her goddess. Every alternate day she would have a history lesson, which was taught by Matsui-sensei, and her discussion partner would always be Haruka.
Each day passed by peacefully, and reality would always nudge Yuki every now and then that these people are not humans. However, they all could live together peacefully and in harmony. It made Yuki wondered what if the world where primordiums and humans could coexist together without hiding, how would it be? While her mind drifted off in class, she was distracted and wasn’t paying attention to what her teacher was saying.
“Kashiwagi-san, will you read the paragraph for us?”
“Y-Yes!”
She got up and realized that she wasn’t paying attention to what was happening. In the middle of hopelessness, Haruka whispered the paragraph they were on and Yuki picked up the book without further ado. She read the passage out loud to the class and once she was done she sat back down.
“Thank you Kashiwagi-san. So what it was saying is…”
Yuki sighed as her study mate, Shimazaki Haruka, saved her. She had a very cold and cool aura radiating from her, which made others scared to approach her. Yuki felt that once one had a chance to know Haruka, she was actually a gentle person. However, she could be quite blunt and that made people unable to get along with her. The two of them were great study buddies and it worked perfectly for both sides.
“Thank you Haruka-chan. You saved me there.”
“Pay attention to the class. Stop daydreaming.”
“Yikes. Yes ma’am.”
The raven-haired girl just smiled before she diverted her attention to her teacher lecturing them about Japanese history. Yuki knew that Haruka is a sea serpent…and she knew that Yuki is the goddess of life. The female sea serpent didn’t treat Yuki special like any other primordiums. Haruka was just being Haruka and treated her like nothing changed after their identities were revealed. Kashiwagi couldn’t help but to smile, and appreciate having such a great friend like Haruka beside her.

The 2nd half of the school day was used as a time to set up for the school festival that would be happening in 3 weeks from now. Everyone was obviously busy preparing the necessary props needed for their part. However, the sowing team was running out of fabrics and asked a couple of people to go get some at the storage near the school’s pet cage. Yuki volunteered to help and then the other two boys in the class automatically tagged along with her to help. It was obvious that it would be Yuko and Sae, and Yuki couldn’t deny their help because she would need a man to carry those heavy loads. She might not be able to carry all of it in one trip, the more boys the faster it would be. The two primordiums followed Yuki from behind and it was like ‘silence’ was never in their dictionary.
“Something might happen again, this time, I’ll make sure I have my appearance.”
“You’ll just get in my way, dog.”
“Said by a loser that almost died.”
“Oh jeez guys, we’re in school! Don’t talk about those things so easily…what if others heard us?”
Yuki scolded back to them and it made the two thought about it. They looked at each other and sighed while ruffling their hair. The goddess obviously told them off and they didn’t know what to say back to her aside from following what she said.
“…Yes ma’am.”
They replied in unison and it made Yuki laughed softly to herself. Sometimes these two could be obedient like kids. Maybe it was just to her since she’s the goddess of life and they’re working on trying to impress her. At very least, she could tell that the two of them felt slightly guilty for what they did just now. Without further they left the building and headed towards the pet cage area owned by the school. It caught Yuko’s attention as it made his instinct rose up, he was a wolf after all. Sae couldn’t help but to point at the faraway cage and he seemed to have no clue what it was.
“What is that for? The cages…”
“Our school has pet rabbits. We have a committee that takes care of these pets daily too.”
“Why?”
“The animals are meat for the primary sector of our school, and when it's the free lunch hour some of the kids come play with them.”
“Ehh…I see. So humans grew up with animals too huh?”
“Well, some people don’t. I grew up with a pet dog.”
Sae couldn’t stop asking questions from Yuki due to his curiosity. The more he learned about human’s life, the more he got interested. The young raven-haired could sense that from him and was more than willingly to answer back to him. As they’re getting closer, they saw this girl who seemed to be worried and panicking. Just when Yuki was about to approach her, Yuko spoke up first since apparently he knew her.
“Eh, Kojima-senpai, what are you doing?”
“Hm? Ah, Yuki-chan, and Yuko-chan.”
“Yo Kojiharu-senpai.”
Yuki was surprised that Yuko knew one of the upperclassmen in school. He told her that he met her by accident and helped carrying heavy loads back to her class. After they continued their conversation, they learned that during lunch break, the kids form primary school accidentally left the cage door opened. Obviously as they could see no rabbits her found in the cage at all. All of them ran away and it was giving Kojima a hard time right now.
“They’re probably somewhere in this area but…its going to take forever to find all of them with just me alone…”
“Let us help you.”
Yuki spoke up before she turned to the two boys behind her. She obviously asked them a favor to help find the rabbits that were roaming around the school ground. At that moment she was merely asking them like how friends do ask each other. Yuki actually saw Yuko and Sae as her friends…
“Sorry guys, can you two help me out?”
“Sure.”
The two of them replied in unison and that’s when they decided to help Kojima finding all the rabbits scattered across the campus. As everyone was walking around in different directions, Yuko sniffed as he caught a scent of a rabbit. He pointed towards the bush that was close by to tell Yuki that the rabbit was there.
“Found it.”
As Yuko was getting closer to the bush, the poor scared rabbit jumped out and ran for its life. Usually these rabbits are very friendly and loved humans, however…Yuko seemed to be the exception. Haruna and Yuki were surprised and wondered what’s the reason behind it.
“Eh, it seems the rabbit hates you Yuko-chan.”
“Ahh…”
“Ah, you’re not going to be that helpful at all…”
“Hey! That’s mean… it’s not like I want to chase them or anything!”
Yuko retorted back, but he couldn’t deny the fact that he wouldn’t be as helpful in this situation. Another boy sighed and went up to Yuki to speak to her softly. He hoped that the senior lady wouldn’t overhear their conversation.
“Animals have survival instinct …to rabbits, Yuko is a wolf.”
“A-Ah—”
The raven-haired girl was caught off guard but then she understood what he meant. Obviously it’s impossible for Yuko and Sae to explain right in front of her since Haruna was with them too. Without further ado, they should divide into two teams to gather the rabbits. Surprisingly he suggested Yuko to be with Yuki whilst he was with Haruna instead. However, Sae couldn’t help but to throw a sharp remark to him to have his hands away from Yuki at all cost.
“You better not even think about it…”
“Yah yah, let’s get going already.”
They divided into two groups and Yuki was alone with Yuko this time. He sighed and seemed to be slightly worried with the situation. The raven-haired girl couldn’t help but to notice that and then she suddenly had a moment she came up with the solution to the issue.
“Yuko, you can smell them a mile away right?”
“Uh? Yeah…?”
“How about you tell me where they are, and I’ll grab them instead. It should work out right?”
“…Oh damn Yuki-chan you’re a genius!”
“Well, I think this is pretty common sense…anyway! Can you smell them?”
Yuko did as what Yuki asked, he began focusing on his surrounding and tried to detect that subtle faint scent of the rabbit…and it wasn’t that far away. It didn’t take him that long until he was able to locate its exact location. That was when Yuko pointed towards the tree that was quite a distance away from them.
“In that bush…I think.”
“Alright!”
Without further ado, the young raven-haired went up to get the rabbit. Yuko simply stood afar from the area so his wolf presence wouldn’t alarm and alert the rabbits again. Suddenly, Yuki’s yell broke his focus and caught him off guard.
“Got it!”
She turned around with the rabbit innocently rested in her arms. He was amazed that they’re not scared when Yuki went up to them. Maybe it’s this ‘goddess’ thing that made her have this friendly aura? Without further ado, she came up to Yuko and it made the little white rabbit agitated again.
“Ah…maybe its better not to bring that little kid close to me.”
“There there…its okay. He’s not a bad person. He won’t eat you.”
“It won’t work.”
Yuki casually comforted the shivering rabbit and obviously Yuko didn’t believe that it would work. However, as he stared at that little creature in her arms…the rabbit eventually calmed down and relaxed in her arms again. It was like magic. The raven-haired girl was able to calm the little scared rabbit even under the presence of the wolf next to it.
“W-Wha…?”
“Bleh! It worked! Do you want to touch this little boy? He’s very soft!”
“Uh…I don’t want to freak it out?”
“Don’t worry I will hold him, he won’t.”
Yuko sighed and reluctantly extended his hand towards the little fluffy creature. Obviously he didn’t want to scare them off so he tried to avoid them…but the moment he placed his hand onto the rabbit’s back, it was a very unique experience for him. The rabbit didn’t flinch and just allowed Yuko to touch him without expressing any signs of fear or agitation.
“I-It’s not scared…”
“Do you want to hold him?”
“Maybe not. This…is enough.”
The young goddess was slightly caught off guard as she saw Yuko’s soft smile across his face. That worried anxious expression a minute ago disappeared as if it didn’t exist and he looked rather satisfied. He was not the definition of a werewolf, as Yuki would imagine she could tell from his eyes that he’s a very kindhearted person. Who would expect a wolf to be patting a rabbit with such a gentle expression like that? As Yuki witnessed a whole new side of Yuko, it seemed her opinion towards him changed as well.
“You like little cute animals?”
“Uhh…maybe.”
“Now you’re being dishonest, tell me!”
“Ugh, do I really have to?”
Yuki’s silence towards him was her answer. She didn’t say a word aside from staring back at him while waiting patiently for his answer. That started to pressure him as Yuko realized that Yuki wouldn’t let the topic down unless he told her the truth to her.
“...Tiny fluffy animals.”
“Eh?”
“T-They’re kinda…cute.”
“Aw! That’s rather cute of you Yuko.”
“HEY!! You better not tell anyone about this. It’s embarrassing, and also a disgrace to the wolf clan. I got pride after all.”
Yuko surely had a lot of pride in his own clan, but Yuki disagreed with his statement. She simply shook her head and bluntly responded back to the wolf boy that it’s not a disgrace at all. Yuki’s opinion was complete opposite from him.
“ It just shows you have a kind heart.”
She only smiled as she started heading back to the rabbit’s cage. Yuko was left in silence and wasn’t able to understand what she meant. He honestly told her he didn’t understand what Yuki meant by that and kept saying that this side of his is something he hated. It made him look weak to his people and he can’t lead his clan if he had that side. Yuki only sighed softly and turned around to him with that soft smile of hers.
“Don’t say it like that…because that smile you had just now is just so gentle and kind.”
“E-Eh…?”
That literally caught him off guard and Yuko was completely blushing. Yuki accepted the side he despised so much. He retorted back to hide his blushing expression and acted all tough and mighty towards her. He let his guard down and lost his cool for a second there. Also, those words literally touched his heart.
“W-What the hell?? What ever! Let’s get back now! We got the rabbit already anyway!!”
Yuko literally walked passed Yuki in order to hide his current expression, but obviously the young goddess saw through it and couldn’t help but to giggle to her. This wolf boy was trying to act all tough and strong on the outside…but he was actually a sweet kind boy. The young girl couldn’t help but to be excited with seeing Yuko’s brand new side.
“Hey, wait for me.”
“Catch up yourself!!”
While the two of them headed back to the starting point…the two didn’t realize they were being watched from above, from the infirmary room. The coldhearted doctor stared at the two with those round blue orbs whilst sipping his coffee silently. However, there was another person in the room and he was actually Duke Minegishi sitting in the dark shadows of the room. The vampire's blood red eyes literally stood out in the darkness, especially when vampires are drinking fresh blood.
“Kids these days…the goddess looks surprisingly weak and fragile.”
“That’s what humans are…pathetic and fragile. It is so easy to break them. Anyway, are you done yet?”
Mayu turned to the duke and he was still sipping his drink from the mug in his hand. Unfortunately, it isn’t any kind of human drink…but it is fresh blood that just came out from a living body. He nodded softly and then the archduke diverted his eyes out of the window again.
“Don’t do something like that again. It would just make us stand out even more. Do you understand that?”
“I’m sorry archduke Watanabe, I allowed myself to be too thirsty that I committed such a barbaric act.”
“…You’re forgiven this time, but if there is next time—”
“I promise it wouldn’t happen again.”
Mayu only glared at him and hoped that this duke wouldn’t betray his words against him. Slowly the doctor lowered his eyes down to this poor little corpse on the floor…a rabbit’s corpse. Apparently it wasn’t the kids that opened the cage. It was the vampire that did out of hunger for fresh blood. At least Mayu was able to hide him and so any humans or primordiums that were scattered all over the school wouldn’t catch him.
“…Update me.”
“As you requested me a week ago, the number of primordiums gathering in this city is increasing exponentially…no particular race is that threatening so far.”
Minegishi reported Mayu regarding the changes happening in this city. The salamanders that appeared once were still here, and their numbers were increasing…also, the werefoxes were gathering up too. It didn’t seem as serious as Mayu thought but he knew that the mighty powerful clans would show up soon…and it was a matter of time.
“However, this is a rumor I received from the messengers…the Aurum Leo are starting to make a move. Soon…they should be here.”
“…Is father back at the headquarters yet?”
“His majesty? Yes he is.”
“I got a job for you…bring Fionn, Miyuki, and Mariko here.”
That was when Minegishi realized that his archduke was getting serious with the situation. They needed more reinforcements in the city and despite they’re on of the powerful races that existed…they could be outnumbered as well.
“Do you require any more reinforcements?”
“Just that is more enough, you’re dismissed.”
“Yes sir.”
The vampire nodded before he leaped out from the window to do this assigned task. Mayu only sighed and remembered the Aurum Leo clan very clearly as if it was yesterday. He actually met with the leader once a few years ago…and that man was very strong. The young archduke was actually slightly worried, as he knew that he would have a difficult time handling with just the clan leader himself, and that man’s name is Kawaei Rin.

“Ehh? You need more band aids??”
“I’m so sorry Yukirin! But I have to ask you to go another round again…for some reason people keep getting hurt.”
“That’s alright. I’ll be back.”
The moment Yuki came back with Sae and Yuko, she was asked to go to the infirmary to get more band aid supplies for the students that kept poking themselves with a needle while sewing. However, the reason Yuki looked bothered wasn’t the fact that she had to go out again…it was the fact that the doctor is the heartless vampire, Mayu. For the entire walk she used that time to prepare her mind to confront the most threatening primordium she knew…this man stabbed his own comrade without hesitation. Unlike others, Yuki couldn’t predict what he would do or think. As she was standing in front of the door, she took a deep breath and getting mentally ready before knocked on the door. However, before she had a chance to do so, Mayu sensed her presence already and invited her in without further ado.
“I know you’re there, come in.”
Without a single reply, Yuki walked in and saw Mayu sitting at his chair while having his coffee. She was tensed and alert with his heavy presence…and she felt unsafe at the same time. Those blue eyes stared back at her and gave her a chill down her spine. However, she suddenly spotted the blood marks on the floor and couldn’t help but to be terrified and scared.
“Don’t worry, it is not human blood.”
“W-Wha…?”
“Your face suddenly went pale soon after you saw that.”
“…So what is it?”
“The rabbit’s blood. Unfortunately my subordinate can’t contain his thirst and had to eat.”
Yuki’s expression dropped and it seemed she got mad. The doctor said it so easily as if it was none of his business at all. As the doctor watched the young goddess cringed her fist tightly, he couldn’t help but to smile with content. He was satisfied to inflict pain on her…for some reason seeing Yuki smile made Mayu utterly irritated.
“So what is your business here, kiddo?”
“Just need a pack of bandages, and that’s it.”
“Alright then.”
Mayu went up to the shelf and grabbed a brand new box of Band-Aid. Without further ado, he walked up to her and he could see her cringing up with frustration. He simply knocked it against Yuki’s head and it made her tilted her head up to grab it away from him…however she got something that’s way more unexpected from him.
That aggressive, yet soft textile pressed against her lips. Her eyes grew wide with shock and she literally shoved the doctor away from her before she slapped loudly across his face. While Mayu slowly diverted his eyes back to her, he could see her eyes filled with fury and anger. It also seemed she was at the verge of tears as well.
“Heh, first kiss?”
“You’re disgusting…! You're the worse.”
“…Good response, kiddo.”
He threw the Band-Aid box to her this time before he went back to his table to grab his mug of coffee. Yuki wished she could hit him harder and wanted to leave here as soon as possible before she would do or say something recklessly. The moment she opened the door, Mayu spoke up and caught her attention quickly.
“More primordiums are showing up in the city. They’re coming for you…your little protectors will stand no chance against them.”
“Since when do you care? I can take care of myself…I’m not a weak as you think.”
“Hmph…we’ll see, kiddo.”
She shut the door loudly with anger and left Mayu in the room alone once again. He grinned to himself while looking out of the window waiting to see Yuki walk across the school ground from above. The more he made Yuki showed those hateful expressions, the more it made him happy…he surely had a very twisted sense of contentment. Unlike other primordiums that intended to impress Yuki in order to capture her heart, Mayu took it to a whole new level.
“We will see…what will you do from now, Kashiwagi Yuki. Your decision will decide the fate of all clans…just how much burdens can you shoulder?”

Both Yuki and Jurina headed to school like any other days, but the young raven-haired girl could see that her friend seemed to have that stressful expression much more than the past week. Somewhat, she felt that she didn’t know something she needed to know, and she needed to ask it out from Jurina.
“Hey, what’s with that face?”
“H-Huh?”
“What is making you so stressed like this? Is it…the primordiums that were after me?”
“…”
“Jurina, either way, I can’t always run away from this. Tell me so that I know what I need to do.”
“…Jeez, very well then. I’ll tell you what happened during the past week.”
Her archangel friend told her that she had been talking to Ren about the exponential increase in numbers of Primodiums showing up in this city. Potentially they were ones that were searching and targeting the Goddess of Life. However, that didn’t bring Yuki to a surprise…but it was that Jurina was able to talk to Ren properly. She knew that her friend hated him and never trusted him, and to hear that she was making some progress with her friendship with Ren made her smiled out with relief.
“What are you smiling?”
“Nothing~ I like how you’re being okay with Ren-san now. You looked like you’re going to rip his head off in any second.”
“The only reason we talked was that this situation is threatening the human society. I still don’t trust him, but fortunately in this situation we’re standing on a common ground.”
Jurina explained to Yuki about the possible incidence that could happen and she couldn’t believe how serious it was. In balanced society between humans and primordiums, they lived separately to not disrupt each other’s system for over many centuries because many primordiums were not able to accept humans like the Sea Serpent and Black Tengu race. If they were to co-exist at the same place, without any certain balance…the worse case scenario would lead to a number of casualties on both parties.
“From what Ren told me so far…there are three races that we need to be EXTRA careful about…”
Yuki listened carefully as Jurina explained each detail slowly to make sure her goddess would be able to absorb it all. The first race was the Blood Ogre; they were infamous for being ruthless and heartless to other races aside from their own kind. Despite having a very small-scaled population, their physical strength was unrivalled and was known to be as strong as a dragon race itself. The second race was the Great Orca, and they actually hold the title of ‘The King of Sea’, which were more than enough to tell anyone that they were one of the formidable races out there. Their population was small-scaled as well, but they couldn’t be underestimated. Not much was known for their strength and weaknesses as they barely participate in any primordium wars back in the ancient times. Lastly, the Aurum Leo, known to be ‘The King of Land’ which was similar to the Great Orca race, they were actually known to be such a peaceful primordium but only until when they’re affected by other parties. These races were one of the hardcore ones comparing to other ones that started invading such as Salamanders, Werefoxes, and others.
“I know it’s a lot of information…just make sure if you meet anyone of them…call me or Ren immediately. Despite I DON’T want to rely on him…there is as much as I could handle against those three races…”
“W-Wow, this is more serious than I thought.”
“Yukirin did you forget that you’re a goddess for a REASON or something?”
“Shut up Jurina!”
Jurina gave her the side eye with misbelief and made the goddess slapped her shoulder with that pouting face. Her guardian angel was being such a tease, but that did ease the mortal raven-haired girl’s mind. She could tell that Jurina was trying to not make her panicked with all these facts. However, there wasn’t any softer way to convey this information to her but to tell her straightforwardly like this…and Yuki deeply appreciated it. At least, she could see lesser frustration and stress on Jurina’s face after she speak it out. She smiled brightly before she smiled with relief from her heart. As her archangel saw that, Jurina couldn’t help but to be surprised with how Yuki could be so chilled after hearing such a heavy content like this.
“I’m surprised you can be so relaxed after hearing this…take it more seriously.”
“You’re just being too serious Jurina! I have my guardian angel with me, right?”
“Huh?”
“…Jeez, I’m just SAYING that I know you’ll protect me, so I shouldn’t panic unnecessarily to make you and Ren-san worried. I know I can trust you more than anyone else, you’re my first and only best friend!”
“...”
“I know my Jurina is strong enough to protect me, and being around you makes me able to fully relax too—”
“Okay, that’s too much compliment there. I can’t take it.”
Jurina brushed the topic away and the conversation was cut off bluntly that it made Yuki glared back with that pouting face again. She whined and kept teasingly hit Jurina on her shoulders to get her attention back to allow her to finish what she was saying. However, Matsui didn’t have any intention to turn back to look at her friend…because she knew that Yuki would tease her about these blushing cheeks. Those sweet genuine words really did give Jurina a heart attack and she let out a big sigh before she turned back to make eye contact with Yuki, who was waiting for her…impatiently.
“Jeez let me finish what I’m saying—”
“I know what are you going to say.”
“Huh?”
“Let’s get going before we’re late for school.”
She ruffled Yuki’s head before she grabbed her hand tightly. They walked by each other’s side and Yuki only looked at her protective friend’s back and made her had a little déjà vu of the past when Jurina used to hold her hand like this when they’re kids. She couldn’t hold back her smile and held her friend’s hand back tightly before skipped forward to catch up with Jurina.
“Hey Jurina.”
“What now?”
“Even though I do trust Ren-san and believe that he truly wants to help us out, but you’re the one I trust and love the most, okay?”
“…H-Huh??? What the hell—Yukirin!?”
“Aw you’re so cute!!”
Jurina blushed horribly and she was caught red-handed by Yuki. Kashiwagi pointed out how the archangel was blushing up to her ears and the poor girl could only glared with embarrassment. She knew Jurina was not good with compliments like this and she would get all acted up and embarrassed like this. All the effort hiding her blush just now went down the drain as Yuki caught her…and now the goddess would be teasing her throughout their entire morning walk to school.

The young goddess had her normal school life along side with her friends, but realized that this peaceful life would eventually come to an end. She could sense inevitable battles up ahead of her…and she needed to be mentally and physically ready for any confrontation from now on. Today in physical education class, they had to do a physical test and so everyone was outside in the field doing a number of tests. One of them was that they had to run 1 kilometer around the field and Yuki was able to finish it before her Asuka and Aki could, which brought a huge surprise to them.
“Oh god Yukirin! Since when you’re this fit??”
“Huh? I…I’m not so sure myself.”
“Girl! What’s your secret? You’ve been training without us knowing?”
“Maybe just a little, not much actually!”
Yuki was certain she didn’t do much of fitness training, but she could feel this spiritual energy flowing inside her…maybe it came from her Onmyoudo Arts training with Ren and Jurina. Kashiwagi began to wonder whether the increasing of her physical test scores was because of those training she did. Before she was allowed to think any further, her teacher called her name to do the long jump test. She quickly went up to do the test…and wasn’t aware of another presence watching her from the trees next to the school’s wall. He looked like a young teenage boy, but had a huge short scar across his nose. He was watching Kashiwagi quietly with a smirk of excitement.
“Heh…I can smell it…such a delicious scent.”
“That is creepy, Miyazaki.”
“Tch, you’re such a mood breaker as always…can’t you enjoy the tasty scent in the air?”
The young boy was annoyed by the lady that was speaking to him from behind the tree. They both commonly shared bright orange eyes that could even be seen in the dark. The woman that spoke to him seemed to be much older than him, and was acting more like his guardian than his equal.
“We’re a gallant and dignified race, we’re no lowly barbarians.”
“Yah yah, whatever. I’m done with a granny’s old talk.”
The older lady had no intention to continue to argue with the young boy and both of them could sense an intimidating presence nearby the area. They both flinched at the same time, and could smell that familiar disgusting scent through the air and it made the young reckless boy grumbled softly.
“Those fucking ogres…”
“Your murderous intent is leaking out. Restrain yourself, Miyazaki. As long as we don’t reveal our location, everything will be according to his plan.”
“Shut up grandma, I know what I’m doing. I don’t understand why boss assigned you as my partner…you’re the most annoying person ever.”
“…Kids these days, we’re leaving now.”
“What? Why?”
Miyazaki was against leaving but his partner insisted they do so. The lady signaled with her head to the boy to look towards the building where he could suddenly sensed that calm heartless eyes staring at them from the opened window. Those blood red eyes watched their every move carefully, like a predator watching its prey before it started its hunt. Miyazaki was surprised that he couldn’t feel any murderous intent from it…but he actually retracted a little after seeing those eyes. He knew immediately it was the vampire, and this man was no ordinary vampire that they could easily hunt and kill.
“He has been watching us ever since we’re here…that vampire is definitely a high-ranked one if he’s able to hide his murderous intent that perfectly.”
“…Tch. Fine, we’re leaving.”
“Good.”
They both decided to take their leave off from the school ground after they were being constantly watched and not welcomed by Dr. Watanabe. The cunning doctor realized that other races were starting to take action and the big ‘hunt’ was about to begin soon. He closed his eyes for a while and as he reopened his eyelids the blue eyes returned once again. Few seconds after her reverted back to his normal state, a female student knocked on the door to bring some documents as the doctor requested.
“Here are the files Kikuji-sensei wants to give to you, is this all?”
“Yes, that is all, thank you for your assistance.”
“Not at all! I’m glad to help you out, Watanabe-sensei!”
The girl smiled with a soft blush, and the doctor still needed her to do something for him. Before he could let this female student go back to her classroom, he asked her to do a favor for him and obviously she accepted it without any conditions at all. His vampire charms were indeed playing a strong role with him gaining favors from all female students and teachers in the school. Little by little he was expanding his territory within the school…
“What is it that you want me to do?”
“Can you go call Kashiwagi-san to come over? Her medical reccord is not exactly completed, so I need her to come check it thoroughly before I finalized it. She’s currently in her physical education class down in the field.”
“No problem! Anything to help you out Watanabe-sensei!”

While the doctor was having his late morning tea in the infirmary, he could hear a familiar footstep marching down the hallway before the door opened. He could tell from her eyes that she was at extreme caution and was constantly glaring at him like he’s a criminal or a pervert.
“Please come in, Kashiwagi-san.”
“…That was a lie, my medical records are complete. What do you want now?”
“Close the door and maybe we can talk.”
Yuki did it reluctantly and wondered what would Mayu want to talk to her about. She still couldn’t trust him and so she decided to stand next to the door instead of sitting down in this creepy infirmary. No one knew what he was thinking and what could this pervert sadistic doctor do to her again.
“What do you want?”
“…Your spiritual energy is leaking out.”
“Huh?”
“You’re not controlling it…or more of, the amulet that the black tengu gave you couldn’t sustain your powers.”
“!?”
Mayu knew about the black amulet Matsui Ren gave her to keep her powers at bay…but it seemed it wasn’t able to withstand the true powers of the goddess after all. The vampire smirked maliciously before he placed the cup down onto the table adjacent to him.
“Other races will be able to detect you fairly easily, all we need is just a tinge of your scent, and we can track you down.”
“So what are you trying to say?”
“It seems you’re still not aware of your position at all, goddess of life.”
In that blink of second, Mayu appeared right before her eyes and she wasn’t even able to see him moving at all. She backed away but then the wall was already right behind her. He only stared back at her quietly, and with an emotionless expression on his face.
“Do you know that your existence is affecting all lives on earth? I don’t understand how did human race managed to become abundant in this world when its so weak and fragile.”
“Don’t touch me—”
Yuki smacked his hand away before he could reach in to cup her cheek. He pulled his hand back and only had that smirk across his face. The young girl pushed the doctor away from her and he allowed himself to move backward as the goddess desired.
“Stay away from me…you creep.”
“Just because you’re the goddess doesn’t mean we will try to please you. Many races are enemies with each other and if they can’t get what they want…their enemy shall not too.”
“…”
“Think of it as my friendliest warning for the goddess. I wouldn’t want my effort go in vain.”
“You did nothing but making me hate you so much, what kind of damn effort is this?”
“…Hehe, hahahahaha!”
Mayu started laughing and it made Yuki even more annoyed and pissed with how ambiguous he was. It felt as if this vampire was simply messing around with her head and indirectly manipulating her to think and do what he wanted her to.
“What are you laughing at!?”
“You’re just so young and naïve…kid. We vampires get what we want, and just the way we want. Unless you offer us something…and that will be a different story.”
“Huh?”
“I’m certain you remember the rabbit incident right? One was missing…isn’t?”
Yuki was surprised Mayu knew about it and it seemed he knew more than what she knew. That instant, she felt a huge surge of anger rushed up to her face and she knew it immediately that the vampires were behind it. Mayu hinted it to her and walked in to slap him across his face. The vampire didn’t block or dodge, but accepted that weak pathetic pat across his cheeks. He only turned back to smile at her, which made her angrier.
“Damn you vampires—!”
“We hunt blood in living bodies…what do you think we are? A vegetarian vampire? Blood of young female students…are very delicious, you know? Even my subordinate couldn’t resist that temptation—”
“Don’t tell me you hurt other students here!? How could you…!”
“Hmph, how about we make a deal?”
“W-What?”
“Even we’re a ruthless bloodthirsty race, we do keep up to our promises. I will not touch any humans or animals for blood…but you have to give me something in return. What do you say?”
“…Depends on what is this that I have to give you in return?”
“Cherries, only fresh ones too.”
“…Are you joking with me?”
“I’m not.”
Yuki did not believe anything doctor said and he told her that cherries could act as a replacement for vampire’s blood thirst. If she could fulfill that condition, that would mean that doctor Watanabe wouldn’t have to go look for blood at all. However, Kashiwagi couldn’t tell whether Mayu was actually plotting something or not and whether he was lying with that straightforward expression. He’s a man capable of lying with confidence and she didn’t know whether she should believe a word he said.
“That’s up to you to decide, kiddo. I will keep hunting for my food to keep living, and it is none of your business to interfere with our clan’s survival. We ALL fight and struggle to live. We hunt and do whatever it takes to live, unlike humans that destroys everything for pleasure.”
“…!”
“Of course you got nothing to say, because you knew it’s true. You guys love killing, and take away lives. I wonder which is actually the most heartless creatures that ever lived in this world?”
“You really don’t have to put it that way. Humans are not all bad! Just like primordiums. We’re all alive, aren’t we just the same?”
“So naïve…too naïve, kiddo. I wonder why the goddess chooses to be born as a heartless selfish human like this…Just how much responsibility can you take, with all those lives in your hands?”
The doctor gave the girl flick right on her forehead and it made her mad. However, his words gave Yuki some thought…if she didn’t take in an annoying way, this vampire was acting doing a favor giving Yuki a warning before she would have to control all of these obstacles without being aware of it. However, his way of conveying the message was beyond irritation. The doctor didn’t have anything left to say and told the student to leave. She took her leave without replying anything back to him and as she headed back to her class. The class went on and she was sitting in her last classroom while dazing off…while she was actually thinking about what Mayu said about her spiritual powers leaking out and other primordiums were able to track her easily. She learned how to control it, but she wasn’t as adept enough to manage her tremendous energy of the goddess. The moment the bell rang was when the school ended, and as the young girl was packing her stuffs, Jurina came rushing to her class and marched up to her immediately.
“Jurina, what’s a matter?”
“We have to leave now…just come with me.”
The archangel looked quite nervous, and they left the classroom without further waiting. Yuki got dragged out and then there was Ren waiting for them at the back of the school building along with Yuko and Sae. It seemed all of them gathered up with the same purpose…and the raven-haired girl could sense their stressfulness coming out from their faces. They seemed to be discussing about something important and Yuki heard the conversation halfway instead. Yuko was the only one that showed all his emotions, and he seemed to be very annoyed for some reason.
“Are they fucking serious? This is no joke.”
“We all sensed the same thing…and we all know this is not a good sign.”
“Is that bloodsucker going to come?”
“I sent him a text, and I highly doubt it.”
Ren replied to both Yuko and Sae who seemed to be rather frustrated and annoyed with the current situation. The teacher did try to contact the doctor, but he knew that vampire’s nature hate working as a group with other races. Ren already had a hunch that Mayu would show up, but he was certainly positive that the vampire was aware of the current situation.
“We need to get out of here before we get anyone involved…Jurina, we’ll have to rely on your speed.”
“W-What is going on?”
It seemed Yuki was left out of the loop and everyone understood each other’s conversation perfectly. She called out for their attention but they completely ignored her without any signs of hesitation. Suddenly, Jurina swiftly carried Yuki in a bridal style hand and the surprised girl witnessed her friend’s hair changed to dark blonde hair and those light blue eyes sparkling right in front of her. She still couldn’t grasp the situation and the archangel suddenly took off through the back of the school where it was away from everyone. Yuki screamed from the top of her lungs with surprise and held onto Jurina tightly with her life on the line. She felt like she was flying in the air and could drop down any time. It was her first time Jurina carried her and ran in full speed and she wasn’t expecting that it would be this fast. The wind kept tackling her hair and face, so she buried her face onto Jurina’s shoulder with countless questions.
“J-Jurina!? What is going on??”
“There’s no time to talk about it, I’m going to speed up.”
“Wait a minut—KYAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!”
Jurina suddenly sprung right up into the sky and Yuki was completely in shock with how high they were in the air. It would be approximately about 6 meters into the air and as they dropped down, Yuki felt like her guts and heart was still up in the sky. She desperately held onto Jurina tightly as they landed back onto the ground again and went into this abandoned warehouse that was close by to their school as it had this huge wasteland that was not used for years. This desolated area from humans would be the best place for any of them to confront any enemies that were after Yuki.
“Jurina! Explain to me what’s going on??”
“Yukirin, no matter what…you have to be strong.”
“Huh??”
A dark shadow had been chasing after Jurina and Yuki ever since they ran out from the school, but then the silver wolf was coming from above and thrust his feet down towards the new enemy. It managed to dodge it on time and then Yuko chased after him closely to execute another kick right at it. That forced that mysterious chaser backed off and he glared at Yuko with those orange eyes. It was the same boy that had been watching over Yuki at school during her physical education class.
“Get out of my way you disgusting wolf!!”
“You lions…!”
Both of them seemed to be especially annoyed as they saw each other before they dashed in towards each other. The two aggressive boys stopped each other with both their hands and attempted to beat each other with brute force. Yuki could see Yuko confronting another boy that was about his age…and he had such a very sharp orange eyes of a beast.
“GET. LOST!!!!!”
Miyazaki roared furiously towards Yuko and his voice created a supersonic impact right into the wolf boy’s face and made him backed away from the lion boy. Yuki’s witnessed the change in that orange-eyed boy’s physical appearance…the short orange lion ears appeared on top of his head and that thin tail whipped in midair. In response to Miyazaki, the young wolf’s ears and tail surfaced out from his body and his silver white hair brushed in the wind.
“Y-Yuko…?”
“Yuki, listen…you ARE the goddess of life. Everyone is after you, and I’m here to protect you.”
Jurina muttered under her breath and only Yuki could hear it…and she could sense that her friend was dead serious. Right after her archangel gave her a speech, both black-winged man with the staff in his hand and the purple-eyed boy with a wooden bow landed right behind Jurina from the sky. The archangel could tell that the two Primordiums were behind her and she couldn’t be bothered to turn back to look at them.
“Archangel, take care of Yuki.”
“I don’t need you to tell me what to do, dark elf.”
“This is surprising to see a bunch of Primordiums of different races helping each other out. Having the goddess as your own eh?”
Yuki and others remembered that faces very well…those fiery red hair and eyes, the salamanders, they were the ones that attacked the raven-haired girl at the school’s warehouse. Sae took the step forward to signal to his fellows that this was his fight. They were sneering at the dark elf boy that almost died from the battle, but the seriousness in his eyes was filled with utmost confidence that he wouldn’t lose to them that easily. However, before the barbaric salamanders could attack, the low husky voice ordered them to stop and they all obeyed unconditionally. That was when the subordinates opened the path to allow their clan leader marched forward to meet with the Goddess of Life for the very first time. There was a man and a woman walking forward and they gave a completely different vibe to what other lowly salamanders do. The man was in such a formal white t-shirt and black trousers, whilst the woman was in her sleeveless cute white tops and black skirt. Yuki was actually mesmerized by the fierce color of their hair and eyes. It felt as if she was staring into the flames as it that color was alive…it changed her impression for the Salamanders immediately.
“You must be the young succeeding leader after Lord Miyazawa. Is he still alive?”
“…Old man is still healthy like a damn horse. That bastard just doesn’t want to give up his throne. Why thank you for your concerns.”
“How dare you talk to our boss like that—!!”
The subordinate was not happy with how rude Sae was talking to their leader, but then the man rolled his eyes to the side and gave him that death stare to not interfere with his conversation with the young leader of the Dark Elf race.
“Don’t interfere while I’m having a talk with my old friend.”
“I-I’m sorry sir…”
He returned his eyes to Sae and let out a soft smile of nostalgia. They both maintained such a long eye contact with each other to the point Yuki had a hunch that these two knew each other. While the redhead leader was done reminiscing his past that he shared with Sae, he chuckle under his breath.
“You’re as rude as always, Sae. You haven’t change a bit.”
“…Finally you showed your face after you make your men do the dirty work? I didn’t know you went that low…Filthy Salamanders.”
The subordinates behind the redhead man was utterly provoked by Sae’s rude speech and they released their beast forms, which revealed their beast-like eyes and a long scaled tail. The salamanders were quite infamous for being quite a short-tempered race and easily provoked by others.
“Boss!! We can’t allow this hideous dark elf talk trash about you!”
“Right! This dark elf can’t even beat us, let us kill him!”
“Boss, please order us right away.”
“…Didn’t I tell you to not interfere with my good talk with my old friend?”
Yuki immediately froze under that cold angry tone of that redhead man. The flames suddenly ignited and exploded out of nowhere right in front of every one of the reckless subordinates of his. All of them backed away with fear and calmed down in a blink of a second. He crossed his arms and only smiled while he was talking to Sae.
“I didn’t recall you being so weak though.”
“Why the hell are you here, Itano?”
“Just came to see the Goddess of Life in flesh and blood. She’s quite a cute charming girl just like what my subordinates said. Interesting…”
“You get your dirty hands away from her.”
“Then I presumed we could settle our scores properly this time. To see who’s stronger and deserved to have the Goddess of Life.”
Sae brought up his bow and was aiming at Itano’s head without any hesitation. One of the young salamanders acted up after seeing the enemy pointing his weapon at their boss. He immediately sprinted towards Sae without hesitation and that was when the dark elf marksman let go of his arrow and he could easily dodge it too.
“Heh, your aim ain’t as famous as I heard—!”

The man heard the sound of the pop and blood from his neck sprayed out like when a pipe had a crack. Yuki’s eyes grew wide with shock and that salamander had to pressed his hand against his neck to stop it from bleeding. He glared back at Sae and saw the dark elf pulled another arrow on his bow, ready to let it go once again.
“Miyazawa Sae was known to be the best marksman of the Dark Elf clan, and that was his warning not to interfere. He could’ve killed you if he wanted to.”
Itano spoke about the dark elf as if he knew him so well, and seemed to be quite proud with how powerful and talented Sae was. However, none of that made the dark elf smiled at all…only a glare of hatred was the only thing he could give to the leader of the salamander clan. Before they could resume their reunion, it was about time another clan finally arrived to stop the fight as well. Meanwhile, the battle between a lion and a wolf continued on and they’ve been exchanging countless blows with each other like there was no ending to it. In their next strike, another man came in and diverted both of their fists away from each other. They were caught off guard and leaped away from the mysterious 3rd party that interfered with their battle. The student council president had been following all of them the entire time and he realized it was about time to stop this unnecessary fight. However, Yui could tell that both Yuko and the young lion were not impressed with their fight being interfered. After all, lions and wolves had been rivals with each other for over countless centuries.
“Sorry to break it…but this is not the time to fight.”
“…Yui, don’t interfere.”
“A sea serpent…don’t you get in my way of my hunt!”
Right before Miyazawa could jump in to resume the battle, a gangster-looking man appeared and grabbed at the boy’s collar from behind to stop him from doing anything more reckless than what he was doing. The young boy turned around and realized that it was his leader that came to stop him himself. Other lions started to join with their leader and then the boss dropped his young subordinate onto the floor. He was utterly calm and was not a man of words, but his actions said everything he wanted to.
“A-Aniki…?”
“It is just like what that serpent representative was saying. This fight is futile and pointless.”
“Exactly, this is just the gatherings of the representatives, right?”
Itano added and that was when the other two groups allowed themselves to be revealed in public’s eye. Ren felt that instant murderous intent and jumped forward to block another enemy’s attack with his pole but that man’s strength was too powerful for his weapon to even sustain it. Before it could break, Ren dodged the fist that came for him and countered attack with his reversal strike. However, it only made the enemy jumped back and was far from being affected by Ren’s attack. He only rubbed his stomach before he flashed a smile filled with utmost confidence in his unrivaled tough skin of a blood ogre.
“As expected from the Black Tengu headmaster, Matsui Ren.”
“…The eldest Blood Ogre prince…Matsumura Kao.”
A few numbers showed up and stood behind their prince, who was the current representative of the Blood Ogre race. Instead of taking such a flashy aggressive appearance like the blood ogre prince, the great orca race simply revealed them in a very gallant yet peaceful way. The mature lady spoke up while sighing at Matsumura’s flashing appearance.
“How flashy as always, Kaotan.”
“Hey Rie-chan, been a while yeah?”
As the members of each clan started to appear and joined with their leader, Yuki couldn’t help but to stare at all of them with awe. All of them were primordiums, but they all looked completely different from each other. She was able to tell them apart based from their distinct physical features. Each of the blood ogres had the bead necklace and golden bracelets around both of their wrists. They had a jet-black hair and yellow eyes similar to the wolves, but it was not exactly the same. As for the great Orca had a distinct separation of white and black hair in a very odd pattern, and they had such an alluring deep blue eyes. Matsumura looked at Yuki who was in Jurina’s arms and seemed to be quite amazed with how young the goddess looked.
“Wow, that kid is very young! Not bad, she still has few more years before she’s fully ripe.”
“That’s vulgar.”
“Oh such a spoiler Rie-chan. Oh, and how ya doing Nao-kun?”
“…I’m doing fine, Kao-san.”
The blood ogre representative took interest in Yuki, unlike the great orca race. Kashiwagi was actually surprised that the representative was actually a woman, not a man like any other clans. However, there was a boy next to her that shared quite a resemblance to her…and that was her younger brother, who was the youngest succeeding leader among all races currently. In that midst of short silence between all the clans gathering at this place, Yuki swore that it was the longest and most intimidating silence ever. It was as if they were about to attack each other at any second, and not at the same time…and that was when the young Garuda clapped his hand to grab everyone’s attention to him, whilst he landed next to Jurina and Yuki.
“S-Sasshi??”
“Wow, it seemed the big clans have all gathered.”
“Well…that bloodsucker is not here.”
Yuko grumbled but then Sashihara disagreed with him as he pointed up to the roof of the warehouse next to the wasteland they were in. The blood red eyes stared at them silently without letting anyone of them notice their presences. It seemed it wasn’t just Mayu alone too…he had his own subordinates with him along with this huge white wolf, which seemed to be his familiar. The moment that Yuki made eye contact with the doctor vampire…it was as if his eyes was reminder her about what he said to her earlier today. It turned out his warning was real and that was when the young goddess realized how serious the situation was. It wasn’t just about her wellbeing…this situation about her being the goddess of life does decide the fate of the all these races’ survival. She was indeed very naïve to not realize this sooner.
For the Silver Werewolf race… Oshima Yuko.
For the Black Tengu race… Matsui Ren.
For the Dark Elf race… Miyazawa Sae.
For the Vampire race… Watanabe Mayu.
For the Sea Serpent race… Yokoyama Yui.
For the Garuda race… Sashihara Rino.
For the Salamander race… Itano Tomo.
For the Aurum Leo race… Kawaei Rin.
For the Blood Ogre race… Matsumura Kao.
For the Great Orca race… Kitahara Rie and Furuhata Nao.
Just her alone had played a huge role for all these nine races that were present here at this place. Mayu’s harsh words echoed in her head and she hated to admit that he was actually right. Now that she witnessed all these lives standing right before her eyes. None of them could be blamed for being selfish…as every one of them were fighting to live and for the sake of their clan’s survival. They had a reason to fight and become selfish for their own people…unlike her, a selfish human that only thought about her own wellbeing…
“So now that everyone’s here, what shall we do?”
Matsumura grinned and his murderous intent caught everyone’s attention immediately. However, it turned out that it was Yuki that raised her hand up. Jurina was shocked and the young girl asked her guardian to put her down immediately. It seemed everyone was waiting to hear what Yuki had to say, since she’s the goddess of life after all.
“…Everyone’s fighting with their lives on the line…and will do anything it takes for their clan’s survival, I never could understand that until I saw all of you…gathered up together like this.”
“Yuki—”
Jurina was about to interfere, but then Ren extended his broken staff to stop the guardian from doing so. He simply shook his head and agreed to have Yuki finish what she had to say…because this was the responsibility that she needed to accept no matter what. She had been delaying this for too long, and it was about time she accepted it.
“There are so many things I don't know…suddenly my best friend that I grew up since we’re kids turned was my archangel guardian…and I was told to be the reincarnation of the goddess of life. It’s like a dream and I don’t want to believe any of it. However, I always have this gut feeling that one day…that I need to face my fate.”
Yuki took a deep breath before she revealed the decision she made, and the responsibilities she will be carrying on her shoulders. She knew that fighting would be inevitable, but she pleaded that most…they decided the winner in a fair fight without annihilating each another. It was such a naïve thought of a child, and it made Matsumura sighed softly.
“Sorry child, fairness doesn't always apply to any of us when it comes to each of our clan’s fate on the line.”
“…The strongest survives and the weak dies, right? If that’s the case…this could be possible. The loser has no choice but to step aside without any conditions. If the race that could prove to be the strongest above all races, then…I will reveal the secrets of the goddess to ensure the race’s survival.”
That instantly caught everyone’s attention, including Jurina too. They all looked at the young goddess with shock and they seemed to be eager to do Yuki’s approach for the sake of learning the goddess secrets…as Kashiwagi understand so far that everyone would do what it takes for their race to survive, and so she proposed for them to do an elimination knockout. It was one of types of competition that the winner will proceed on whilst the loser would be out.
“The only remaining race will be the strongest…and I will reveal all the secrets and use the goddess powers in me for your clan’s benefit. If you choose to kidnap me…I won’t guarantee I will tell you the truth unless you can prove you’re the strongest. Will everyone be able to come to an agreement with that?”
“So it’s not about mating with the goddess is it? So there are actually other secrets…If that’s the case, I accept your conditions, goddess.”
Itano muttered and seemed to show much interest in what Yuki was saying and that was when he came to a decision to agree with the goddess’ condition. With the redhead boss being the first one to accept, it started to make other races thought about Yuki’s terms…even Kashiwagi was surprised herself that someone actually agreed with her proposal. However, Sae still couldn’t let down his suspicion on his old friend.
“What are you plotting this time…Itano?”
“I’m only interested in what are the secrets the goddess of life holds aside from mating with her. Pretty much that’s the only thing we all know, am I correct?”
Itano pointed out a point to all the representatives. The only thing they knew was that they needed the goddess of life as their mating partner to ensure the race’s survival…but aside from that they don’t exactly know any much details of how could the goddess saved their race. It seemed the truth they all sought lies within the secrets Yuki currently hold.
“I too, agree and accept the conditions that the goddess proposed. I don’t see a problem, maybe it is about time to make a full declaration on which race is the STRONGEST above all, right?”
Yui raised his hand up and declared no objections towards the goddess. It was like a chain and he pointed out another important thing to everyone to actually support Yuki’s proposal. He was actually indirectly helping his goddess friend out in order to ensure there was no war outbreak between races. The moment the student council president spoke out the appealing statement, all representatives diverted their eyes to him and seemed to give them some thought about Yuki’s proposal.
“Royal battle eh? Winner does the loud talk, and losers shut the fuck up. You’re actually a smart girl! Now I’m taking a like on you.”
Matsumura laughed out loud with much fascination towards Yuki. He crossed his arms and let out a big grin before he declared no objections to the goddess of life. Just like Itano, he was interested with the secrets of the goddess Yuki was holding…and the only way to get it was to defeat the representatives of other races. The female representative from the great orca race turned to her younger brother to have a short eye contact with each other before she turned back to the goddess with no objections
“…So be it, goddess.”
“I agree as well. At least…I rather have this than a primordium world war outbreak.
Sae spoke up right after the great orca before he stabbed his wooden bow onto the floor to indicate the end of any form of violence. He showed support for the young goddess friend of his and that was when Ren and Yuko did the same thing too. One by one, each race slowly came to agree with the goddess, but only the aurum leo and vampire did not speak up their thoughts yet.
“Aniki, what do you think?”
Miyazaki turned to his leader, and the man still stood in silence without showing any signs of emotion. However, he diverted his sharp cold eyes to the young goddess and send chills down her spine. She could feel that heavy threatening aura from just making an eye contact with him…and Yuki instinctively stepped back. In that midst of silence, he walked up towards the young raven-haired girl. As some inferiors from other races were responding to Kawaei’s approach towards the goddess, his subordinates glared at them to give them a signal to not interfere. Other representatives didn’t bother to move, as they knew that Kawaei was the most cynical primordium ever. He would only act based on his gut feeling and instinct. Jurina was the only one that stepped in the stop Kawaei from getting any closer to Yuki, but then that gallant man shoved the archangel away assertively and so nothing was in his way with the goddess.
“…!”
Yuki was deeply captivated with that man’s bright fierce eyes that stared deeply into her very soul. She felt like he was staring through her heart and was able to see through all her lies. He sighed softly before he turned back to join with his subordinates that were waiting for him. Kawaei didn’t exactly give his answer and so Matsumura asked him immediately.
“So what ya say Kawaei?”
“…The Aurum Leo are the King of the Land, and will always be the strongest ever since the beginning.”
He declared war with other races and that was him being indirect instead. That made the other representatives smirked with slight excitement. It was in all their nature to fight and prove that their race was the strongest above all. The only reason they were able to come to an agreement with the goddess was that they could also prove to all other formidable races that they are unrivaled.
“How about you, Watanabe-san?”
Sashihara turned to the silent vampire that was sitting on the top of the roof. He only smiled maliciously before he finally gave his answer to other representatives. The vampire seemed to be fascinated with what Yuki was pulling off this time and finally stood up. His silent smile was his reply and that was when Sashihara clapped his hands to grab everyone’s attention again. Due to him not being interested with being part of the royal battle, he seemed to be the mediator for all of them. The only thing he was interested was to watch the goddess’ progression and improvement. He only sought answers he wanted to know.
“So it seems everyone came to an agreement. I guess no one has a problem right?”
“You’re not going to take part, young bird?”
“Not really, I only seek to know what I want to know and I don’t care what race will live or die.”
“Heh, what a freak of nature.”
Itano chuckled with how Sashihara responded, but he couldn’t be bothered to analyze whether he was actually lying to them or not. Only thing he could care was that as long as he could defeat all other races, the knowledge of the goddess would only belong to him. It was about time he would take his leave but before he did, he exchanged eye contact with the dark elf that had been glaring at him this entire time.
“We shall settle our scores later…Miyazawa Sae.”
“Get lost, Itano.”
He only smiled before he took his leave, and it seemed he already declared his first enemy to get rid first and other races didn’t seem to want to interfere with their personal issues. Each race had their own rivals, and it was something that others should never interfere with. The blood ogre prince only smirked as he was exchanging glances with Matsui Ren before he took his leave.
“We shall have our rematch. I’ll see you later, tengu boy.”
The blood ogre group took their leave and the female great orca sighed before she went to her younger brother’s side. He ruffled his head and they took their leave without saying a single word to others. As expected from the great orca race, they’re the least talkative race out of all and left silently. Only the aurum leo and vampires were left, and there was actually a spark going on between Yuko and Kawaei. Both the wolves and lions were eternal enemies that had grudges with each other since the last primordium world war outbreak. They didn’t seem to need a word with each other to tell who would be their first enemy to eliminate first.
“Let’s leave.”
Kawaei turned his back away and walked off with his subordinates. Miyazaki glared back at Yuko and seemed they had unfinished business to clear up. At least all of the big gangs disappeared and made Ren and other sighed with relief. Yuki finally let out a huge sigh as well and she felt her knees went weak on her. She was never this terrified when Kawaei was standing right before her…and that was her first experience to confront one of the toughest primordium guys out there. Jurina crouched down and rested her hand onto her friend’s shoulder.
“Yukirin…since when did you about this goddess’ secret?”
“Well…there’s actually nothing.”
“…HUH??”
Everyone when dumbfounded at the same time and Yuki explained that she was trying to pull something off and she had no choice but to make up something to make everyone listen to her proposal…and who knew that it would work this well. They were all being fooled by this young goddess and Yuko had to ask again to confirm her answer.
“Wait! So there’s no goddess secret??”
“Well…I know it exist…but I don’t know what is it. You see, I keep having these weird dreams and gut feeling that there is something…more than just the goddess mating with another race, but I still don’t know what it is.”
“P-Pft, bwahahahaha! Seriously Yuki? That is SO cunning!”
Sae cracked up and he couldn’t hold back at the slightest. Yuko was completely dumbfounded and couldn’t believe the young goddess was able to pull that lie off after she confronted with Kawaei like that. The sea serpent prince couldn’t hold back his chuckle and was amazed with how his goddess friend was able to lie with such confidence in her voice.
“Well, I’m not exactly lying! I just don’t know what it is yet…so I just have to figure this truth out first before they find out…right?”
“Oh god, you’re such a genius!”
Yuko had a dumbfounded and amazed expression on his face and even Ren let out a smile of relief. As for Sashihara, he was slightly disappointed that Yuki didn’t exactly have that secret he was interested to know, but he was at least keen to wait for the young mortal goddess to remember what it was.
“Okay then, so all we have to do is to beat the damn crap out of all of them before we can continue our game.”
Sae banged his fist into his hand and Yuko nodded as well. They were actually discussing who they would they fight against. To Yuki’s surprise, even Yui and Ren even joined the conversation and discussed right in front of Jurina and Yuki’s face like it was a normal thing. However, it seemed it caught Jurina’s attention and she couldn’t help but to bring it out to everyone.
“Wait…why does it seem you guys are working together?”
That got their attention and it made Yuki realized that too. This was the fight that determined who would be the strongest…but yet these four races seemed to be working together like it was nothing. However, what made the two girls surprised was that both Sae and Yuko replied so casually to them.
“Huh? Oh right, we are! Aren’t we?”
“Oh right, we are?”
“Hm, I guess we actually are.”
“Ah…now that you mentioned it.”
All the four representatives were slightly too naïve to realize that and it brought much confusion to Jurina and Yuki. That was when Yuko crossed his arms and brought up that first deal they made before other races started appearing…that the one that could make Yuki fall in love with first would win without any conditions. They had to get rid of the outside parties that were not part of the game first before they could resume their flirting game with the goddess to capture her heart without any interference.
“I still want to beat and prove this lecherous playboy that I’m WAY better than him in everything.”
“I’ll let the dog yap for now. A great man is the one that doesn’t allow themselves to be influenced by other people’s words.”
“Oh shut up you know how much of a playboy you are. I’m WAY better.”
“I’m MORE attractive than you! D.O.G.”
“I’m not a dog I’m a wolf!!”
Sae and Yuko began fighting once again like usual. However, that was when that aroused Yuki’s curiosity about these four friends of hers…about their true motives. They could easily just kidnap her, but they chose to play this game she accidentally blurted out in the heat of moment. Who knew that they were actually serious about her words?
“I don’t really understand…”
“Huh? What’s a matter Yuki-chan?”
“You all could easily kidnapped me already…but why you all choose to play with this game I just blurted out without thinking…?”
“Oh we know that it is something someone would say in a heat of moment.”
Sae shrugged his shoulder and that was when Yuki learned that everyone knew that since the beginning, but yet they decided to play along with it until now. The young goddess asked why they were still going to do this despite their races’ survival was on the line. After hearing that, none of them replied back to her. Both the dark elf and wolf looked away with a slight blushing face whilst both Yui and Ren chuckled softly before he turned to Yuki.
“I’m certain it is already obvious.”
“Huh…?”
“…You’re not just the goddess or an object to us. You’re Kashiwagi Yuki…we all respect your feelings because you as our friend.”
Ren spoke in everyone’s place and the elf and wolf had no objections. They turned their back to hide their faces, and Yuki couldn’t hide her dumbfounded face. For that moment that made her heart skipped a beat and was touched with these four friends of hers. Ren and Yui added on how they personally don’t like violence, and they could respect whomever Yuki would choose to be with rather than kidnapping her as they initially planned.
“If it is Kashiwagi-sama’s own choice, I will respect it no matter what.”
“Same goes for me. Even though my race’s survival is on the line…I have too much pride as a sea serpent to not make my friend or a lady cry.”
“Argh! I can’t let you guys go all those nice talks!?”
Yuko turned around and yelled at the two of them but his face was still blushing. He was somewhat embarrassed to even look at Yuki at this state because he didn’t want anyone to say that he was a softie wolf boy. He only glared at Yuki and made the raven-haired girl startled with confusion.
“I’m doing this because I made up my mind that I will make you fall in love with me! You got that!? There’s ABSOLUTELY nothing NOTHING more than that!”
“Y-Yuko?”
“Aw, what a cute tsundere dog.”
“What the fuck?? SHUT! UP!!”
Sae couldn’t help but to tease Yuko and that he turned around to give that flirty wink at the young goddess before he gave his cheesy speech to capture her heart. He wouldn’t let this chance to make him look cool in front of his friend. His catchy phrase made the young innocent girl blushed slightly. Through out her life no one ever gave her such a cheesy line like that before…so it was obvious she would have some reactions to it. Obviously the only one that would always interfere would always be the talkative wolf.
“Well obviously! A smile fits you the most beyond anything else, and it is the only thing I would only want to see.”
“E-Eh??”
“Argh! I want to vomit!”
“Quit breaking the mood will ya?”
“Well, if you want to have me, then you need to go through Jurina first~”
Yuki teased all of them and that made the four of them turned to look at the glaring archangel guardian that seemed to not be pleased with them getting any closer to Yuki. Jurina was no different from being a watchdog that was extremely protective over her owner. The young goddess wrapped her arms around Jurina and pulled her close to her body too.
“Right now, Jurina is my number one! Bleh.”
The boys exchanged glances with each other before they started to whisper among themselves regarding that grumpy archangel that was being Yuki’s number one favorite in the list. This time, Sashihara actually joined the conversation with them.
“…And then we all lost to Jurina-san in an instant.”
“I’ll be the referee. This is ought to be fun.”
Sashihara inserted himself into the conversation since he felt that this was very intriguing and interesting to him. All of them were treating such a serious matter into such a tiny matter that Yuki couldn’t help but to be amazed about it. Yuko sighed out and was whining about how he had to even compete against Jurina for Yuki’s love.
“Now I have to compete against a girl? Wait—Jurina is passed to be a man, so we can considered her as a man like us, right?”
“Sometimes you have a good point, dog. I wonder if she likes my Yuki…this will be a difficult situation for me.”
“I’m not a dog! Also, Yuki-chan is NOT yours—!”
“Yukirin is NONE of yours!!!”
Jurina yelled back at them and she couldn’t believe that they were teasing her instead. It seemed the archangel got a little overprotective over her friend and it was such a sweet casual atmosphere that it made the teenage girl cracked up. She wasn’t able to hold her laugh and she just had to let it go. It caught everyone’s attention and all of them decided to let their guard down and was at least grateful that the goddess was not stressful anymore. They did all that funny argument with each other in order to make Yuki return back to her usual self. Obviously…without any confirmation of their thoughts, they all agreed that a smile would suit the young goddess the most.
…Meanwhile, the vampires were just watching everything from above and the young girl beside Mayu seemed to be fascinating with everyone’s relationship. It seemed she was still new to the outside world, and had been asking tons of questions to her older brother.
“Niichan, why are they laughing? Are they not serious about this goddess hunt?”
“They’re just bunch of imbeciles, just like that mortal goddess.”
“Can’t we just kidnap her already, wouldn’t that make our lives much easier?”
Minegishi spoke up but then another older lady disagreed with him. She was wearing this white animal fur coat and crossed her arms in front of her chest. The lady told the man off that they should obey whatever Mayu decided because he’s their succeeding leader after all.
“I don’t mind killing all enemies down, if that is what Mayu-sama wishes.”
“How obedient you are, Shinoda.”
“I simply respect my master.”
The lady coldly replied back and Mayu stood up right after he had enough watching the stupidy of all these people. He turned around to his subordinates that arrived from England last night, and a devious smile appeared across his face. Mayu’s eyes were filled with excitement and couldn’t help but to enjoy with the game that the goddess set up for all of them.
“…I would love to see the faces of all these representatives utterly terrified when they confronted the true vampires.”
“Wow, our master is such a sadist. I wonder what would their blood taste like…heh, a taste of utter victory.”
“We shall bring terror upon them, Mayu-sama.”
“Everything for you, niichan~!”
All of them agreed with Mayu and the huge dog snuggled up against his hand as a sign he agreed too. The doctor patted his head in return and it made his familiar enjoyed it. That was when the vampires decided to take their leave and Mayu had his last glance to the mortal goddess that was enjoying her sweet moments with her friends. However, he despised all of it. He hated to see that smile on her face…and it made him wanted to defile and rip it off. For some reason…he only seemed to have anger and negative emotions for the goddess, and no one knew why…

The view of the deep blue sky and the green plain lands below it was so captivated to the point that she could just stand there and watch this beautiful scenery for the entire time. It felt as if she was waiting for someone to show up…and that was when someone called her from behind.
“Goddess! I finally found you! Please don’t disappear off like that…”
She turned around and then she saw the man landed with those huge black winds spread at its fullest in the sky. He looked almost exactly just like Ren in terms of his facial appearance, but he looked much younger than that. He was more of a like a 15 year old boy than an adult. They have such a different aura too. This tengu was more clumsy and innocent, comparing to Ren who was more stern and calm. He was in his old-fashioned indigo yukata and it seemed the goddess made the young boy extremely worried.
“Hehehe~ I’m sorry! I guess I enjoyed sightseeing a little too much.”
“Gah… Hakuryu-sama would murder me if I told her I lost you! Please don’t disappear on me again…I still value my life!”
“Oops, sorry! I won’t do it again! Shall we go back before she would murder you?”
“Everyone bought all the supplies we needed already. We have to head out by tonight…I’m sorry, we can’t delay our journey any longer.”
“I see…please don’t apologize. This is my destiny. Let us return back to others, Matsui-kun.”
“Yes, my goddess.”

The dream ended and Yuki woke up at 6am sharp once again. She would always wake up very early on days she had a dream that had no relation to any of her current memories…everything took place like thousand of years ago before this current era she was in. Back then, nature was dominant and everything was so beautiful to the point it felt so real to Kashiwagi. The more she dream about it the more she had a feeling that she was seeing those memories from the view of the goddess of life…from Yuki’s previous reincarnation. However, what surprised her was that she saw a young boy that looked exactly like Ren in the dream, and he had his last name too. She felt like that person must be his ancestor back in the era when the goddess was alive. It seemed the black tengu was accompanying the goddess through this ‘journey’ that was her destiny. She wondered whether she shared the same destiny, and whether these dreams were trying to give her hints of what she must do as the goddess of life.
“…My…destiny? Argh, I feel like I need to know it…but I have no clue what it is at all. Ugh, this is frustrating and it’s giving me a headache.”
Yuki went to the bathroom and decided to just wake up because she couldn’t go back to bed anymore. Despite she didn’t understand her jumbled dreams that she had been having, she was certain that she was on some certain journey to some place. It was very important that she needed to keep on travelling no matter what, because it was her destiny. Her life was slowly changing from a normal ordinary girl’s life to a brand new one…a life as a goddess, and had a huge mission that she must accomplish. It was an inevitable destiny that she could not run away. Despite all of these crazy things, what surprised her was that she wasn’t actually that shocked or surprised with all these supernatural things happening around her. It felt somewhat too familiar with all these primordiums surrounding her. What crept her was that she KNEW something like this was going to happen soon…with her encounter with all these primordiums…it felt like it was set up, and everything was meant to happen. There were too many questions she couldn’t answer yet, but she had this gut feeling that she will eventually know as long as she kept pursuing and wished to find the answers. She didn’t like the fact that her life was somewhat being manipulated by this so-called destiny…and she sought to know the truth to all of it. At least, she wanted to live the life the way she wanted…but no one would know, whether such a thing is possible or not.
