Quote from: Tokyograph
Takakura So witnessed his father's murder at a young age. Pledging to catch the killer, he grows up to become an elite cop in New York City, where the criminal lives. His character is cool-headed and disciplined, yet adapts well. Because of major drug dealings, he gets sent to Tokyo to conduct a joint investigation with the Japanese police. There, he gets teamed up with, Kudo Maruo, a detective from a special investigative division. Kudo is a hot-blooded fighting expert due to his earlier days as a delinquent, but he makes a strong impression with his stylish appearance and is always interested in going on group dates. His personality, interests, and investigation methods are completely mismatched with Takakura's, but the two somehow work together to crack the case they've been given.

Just finished the first episode and I'm pretty overwhelmed over how awesome it was. The story aside, I'm more into the cast and characters, and they don't seem to be holding back with the guest appearances so this should be fun to follow. The peculiar humor used in the show is a big plus too, personally.

Oh, and fuck yeah Yoshitaka Yuriko!

ooh. Time to get in the drama watching mode again.

Yoshitaka Yuriko is quickly becoming one of my favorites. She always has some of the best roles.

I was really anticipating this for it's good cop/bad cop theme.
And anything with Yuriko is automatically sent to the must-watch section anyway (she's crazy!).

Aw man, just finished it.

I kind of smell a second season coming in the near future, though, since that's what Fuji TV do.

Watched the show in the last 2 days (waited for all the release first so i won't have to wait an episode a week).  Great Show, dramatic (melo-dramatic), decent action -though I wished it would've been better-, nice story, Great hiliarious scenes between Maruo and Sou (Hiro and Shun, respectively) and the rest of the cast.
though as far as detective drama goes, I wanted some more towards Detective Conan (Case Closed) caliber, or even Deathnote of how the way it's handles every detail.  but since they really rushed it to make a 47min, it's understandable and forgivable.  All in all, pretty good drama.
I hope there's a 2nd season.
btw, is Tokyo DOGS based on a novel, manga or just something original?

question:  in the drama, they did this GPS phone-tracking, is it legal? can anyone do it or just the police? is it available elsewhere?
