This thread is dedicated to the solo works of HYDE, the awesome vocalist of L'arc~en~Ciel! :baa60776:

Quote from: HYDE's solo history, quoted from Wikipedia
After L'Arc~en~Ciel released the single 'Spirit Dreams Inside' in 2000, the band went on an unofficial hiatus as each of the members began work on solo careers. This was Hyde's debut as a solo artist. In October of 2001, Hyde released his first solo single, 'Evergreen'. After two more singles, 'Angel's Tale' and 'Shallow Sleep', Hyde released his first solo album, 'Roentgen', on March 27, 2002. An overseas edition featuring English lyrics was released in July of the same year.

After the expressive, artistic ballads of Roentgen, Hyde's next two singles, 'Hello' and 'Horizon', released June and November of 2003 respectively, returned to his rock roots. Hyde's second solo album, '666', was released on December 3, 2003. It provided a dramatic contrast to 'Roentgen' and the two albums became viewed as counterparts.

In 2003, Hyde starred alongside Gackt in the Japanese film Moon Child. In a duet as part of the project, Hyde and Gackt sang 'Orenji no taiyou'. The song was also released on Gackt's fourth full-length album, Crescent. In December of 2003, Hyde's song 'Shining Over You' from his 666 album was used as the commercial song for Namco's Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean.

In 2004, Hyde took on the role of the guitarist Adam in the movie Kagen no tsuki/下弦の月, a movie based on the popular manga by Ai Yazawa. The movie's theme song, The Cape of Storms, came from Roentgen.

I think he's great.... Faith is awesome.... i never listened to L'arc~en~ciel but i will :) 666 is better because it's more raw sound!

big larc fan~!!! tho I got to know LArc thru Hyde... and until now HYDE is my First True Love in the JMusic Scene...

I as well much like 666 than Faith, i agree its more raw and the songs, well in my personal opinion, are much better than on Faith... I still love 'Masquerade' until now... with Roentgen, its OK yet I much prefer Hyde doing Rock than Ballads.. his ballads are actually great but his aura is much greater when he do rock... people would be so drawn into him...

with singles, it would still be forever 'Hello'... it is just sentimental for me... the song that made me into him... [^_^]

with movies, i dunno i like both Moonchild and Kagen no Tsuki [Last Quarter]... but Moonchild was a bit draggy in the mid-part.. with Kagen even if he has a short movie time there, i meant that he wasn't always there in the scenes, yet his character is really important... yeah... tho i'll be forever laughing with his slurred english in LQ... XD

So it seems that Hyde's coming out with some gacktness lately? Well, more than usual...

This was posted on Hyde's website:

Quote
Hyde, who died in 2008 with the release of the phobook HYDE IS DEAD and is now collaborating with K.A.Z at the unit VAMPS, after 9 months will be reborn on March 13th, Friday.

On this occasion, and till March 22nd, an original program HYDE CHANNEL will be broadcasted exclusively at One Segu area in Roppongi Hills (the address for this area creates a 666, a 6 for Roppongi, one 6 for the district number, one 6 for Roppongi Hills like in Hyde’s second album 666).

In the Roppongi subway station there will be posters of Hyde and media will cover the event.

My respect to HYDE! Great artist! VAMPS is good, but he's not serious about singing now. Still prefer "ROENTGEN" as his best album, imho. ;)
