"Hey," Center started, throwing the view from MajiJo's rooftop aside and looking into Nezumi's eyes, "You're my best friend. And I love you."

Nezumi was a bit taken aback, but responded anyway. "I'm not your best friend, stupid. You're not my best friend. I don't feel anything towards you."

"Don't be silly," Center retorted, "You love me."

"I do not."

"Yes you do. I'm your best friend. Of course, you would."

"You are not my best friend, Center."

"I am. What do you call me, then?"

"One really clingy bastard," Nezumi replies coldly.

"A clingy bastard that you love," Center happily rephrased.

Nezumi groaned. She didn't like playing this game.

"I love you, Mayu."

"No. Stop."

"I love you."

"Center, no."

"Say it back, hey."

"God damn it, Jurina, no!"

She didn't like it when Center acted like this. It was always troublesome.

She was startled when the said girl suddenly stood up.

"Ah, here it is," Nezumi thought to herself.

Center strode towards the rooftop exit.

"She'll be back..."

Center seemed to have no intention of turning back, as she already went through the exit and slammed the door.

When Nezumi realized that Center wasn't coming back, she cursed at herself and scurried towards the door.

Center was walking along MajiJo's deserted corridors, when she felt a soft tug on the hem of her cardigan's sleeve.

She turned around and found Nezumi, whose fingers were clinging onto her sleeve and whose eyes were desperately trying not to meet Center's.

"Well, finally--"

"I don't love you, so don't get the wrong idea."

"Then--"

"You're not my best friend either."

Center stopped her talking to avoid getting interrupted any further to listen if Nezumi had something to say.

The shorter girl sighed and made eye-contact.

"Friendship and love is a mutual connection between two people," she started, "I don't feel anything towards you. But nonetheless, I don't want to lose you..."

She averted her eyes shyly for Center's eyes staring into hers for too long made her feel weird.

"...And I don't want you to leave me, either."

Center flashed her a small smile before pulling her inwards into a hug.

"You nerd. You really do love me."
