It seems that Tsunku's plan for this mash-up was to wait until the H!P Summer Tour to reveal the connection, and he would've gotten away with it too if it weren't for those meddling kids and their dog:

I guess we can look forward to a live performance of this once that tour comes around.

The songs (in mash-up form and individually) have also been uploaded to the official Mobekimasu account on YouTube.

I wonder what other tricks like this he has up his sleeve for the rest of the H!P roster...maybe a Momusu/Mano mix? Or perhaps hire DJ Kirarin Snow for more ideas?

Incientally, the "newly discovered" idol at the end of the clip is Niwa Mikiho, who, at that point, had been recently recruited to join Tsunku's NICE GIRL PROJECT as part of Canary Club. After making this appearance here, Mikki-chan would later go on to star in Tensou Sentai Goseiger (2010-2011).

As I understand it, they're fans of each other's work. There was another show where the two of them and someone connected to Idoling! all sat down to talk over lunch. I believe it was said that Akimoto thought Tsunku had an inner middle school girl, to which Tsunku replied that Akimoto had an inner high school girl. (Or something to that effect.) I think this was in regard to their ability to write lyrics that girls can relate to.

I do know that Tsunku was a big idol fan back in the day, and was particularly a fan of Onyanko Club. I can remember him stating somewhere that he felt AKB and H!P were like Toyota and Nissan. At the very least, there's some mutual respect there. I mean after all, who else can really relate to what they do except each other?

Something not entirely related to Tsunku, but aimed at him. We're just a handful of H!P fans from Argentina. Yes, there're some on this part of the world too!

So we got together and decided to make a video and send it to Tsunku waiting for some reaction of his part. So after a couple of days, no signs of life. Suddenly a couple of girls saw it, Makoto and Ayumi Shibata! But still no news from the man himself until today. Finally, we got an official word

For a few guys in the end of the world, this means a lot!
