Am I the only one that loves Ayumi Shibata? Not only is she the face of Melon Kinenbi but the best friend of Rika.

yeah sad we dont get enough ayumi, did you get that ayaya special backstage i posted up awhile ago on the piehole. Shes cute, though i wonder how she is rikas best friend, i mean rika is so burikko...naturally it seems. I dunno i guess ayumi seems super level headed or something.. but im also thinking its cuz man did you see ayumi pre melon debute. MAN she was kinda dogs, i guess her and rika are kinda those dogs who blossomed and have some strange sense of humor in common, who knows. Yeah, Shibata Ayumi doesn't get nearly enough love. I think I have some good clips somewhere, but I can't find them right now. I know at the very least there's a really nice photospread from a magazine. If I find it I'll be sure to post them.

Agreed on all points. They seem to be in their own world. Rika and Shibata are like opposites in character but perfect for each other. Like you said, Rika the loud silly one, Ayumi the quiet steady one...you can see it from the 2000 backstage concert episode of HM to the recent

We might not have been talking about her as much, but we would have been talking about her. daigong started this thread before the whole shuffles thing this year. MM is the main dish in H!P, which is why we see SO much stuff on them. MKB doesn't get pimped as much as MM, so we don't see as much stuff on their members.

...is that she is one of the veterans that gets IT. Along with Melon Kinenbi, she knows the show biz part yet she's gentle and innocent. Not in your face and crazy like Rika. which is why they're perfect foils.
You can see her hamming it up with the camera, and is a wise senpai to the younger members just like Rika and Yossi. And she got EXTREME hate for her being the center of "Kousui" but hey. she's been front and center from the start. Don't hate her cuz she's beautiful. She was practically the only H!P act to be in studio on HM while the other girls were on the farm or whatever.
And she got that shitload of acting gigs: Cyborg Shibata was built for her and it gave her a "catchphrase" .. ~~KYAAA~~ :heart:

I've always been a fan of shiba-chan, but I think I just fell in love with her after watching her performance on the H!P on Stage musical. Her performance was so awesome, she also did great doing gocchin's songs. It was also the sweetest thing when she was about to cry in the end. :cry:

Whoa! I noticed this before, but hearing it live made more of an impact! Since Shiba joined at 15, she has improved SOO SOO SOO much it's amazing! She was easily the worst singer in the group when they debutted! But by their 3rd single, she sounded a whole lot better :o

I got to say, even though i love the Morning Musume the most out of all the other H!P groups, i'm starting to love all the other rest of the groups as well, especially Ayumi Shibata and the other Melon Kinenbi members, They actually are very good singers, better than the morning musume groups, i think, probably cuz they're the senior members, u know with the experience and all. GOD DAMN!!!! CUTE JAPANESE GIRLS ARE INFECTIOUS, YOU GO H!P, AND THE GENIUS WHO STARTED IT ALL, TSUNKU-SAN!!!

Oh And by the way, I watched this Hello Project on Stage! 2006 Nihon Seinenkan Koen "Yujo to Maho no Trump ~Star Gakuyaura Monogatari~", in which i heard ayumi said something about last concert and at the end of the concert she was crying, i though that she would leave the group or something, but it doesn't look like it now since she still here, so would someone please elaborate on what happen at the concert, why did she cry and what does she mean by "last concert?" thanks , awaiting your reply.

Not exactly sure why she cried, but she meant last concert as in it was the last show of that concert. I'm sure it had something to do with her having a sudden leading role and it being the last show... Something like that maybe?

I'm doing research for a Shibata fanfic. When I started writing, I realized that - while I know that she's one of the cutest girls in H!P - I know nothing about her personality. I'm into realism in my fanfics, and don't want anything that's too out of character for her.

Elegies is awesome, because it has the 4 of the hottest H!Pers in it. Esp. Satoda & Shibata who are severely overlooked because they're EC material. Shibata's smile is her super charm point, then throw in the hip grind and BANG!

Shiba-chan rocks the house! I love her, I really do. She, along with the hotness that is Boss, are my fav Melons! I really like her voice too. It's just very mellow-ish. That Uta Doki with Yossy when they sang "Hatsu Koi" is one of my favorite performances.

Seriously. Shibata is like the yin to the yang of any partnership - the way she blends so well in Melon Kinenbi as the baby, how SHE becomes the serious one to her BFF relationship with Rika.

My Shibachan story: When I first discovered Melon Kinenbi, I noticed Ayumi right away. With Kosui, she was so cute and who the fuck cares if people rag on her for being the centre of attention. Love her voice, buck teeth and brings the charm to MKB. And she can pull off the badass. Plus, her chemistry with Rika and the 4th Generation was so unique, compared to even fellow Musume. No wonder they gave her Cyborg Shibata and all those solo PBs. So her body may be a little flat, she's still the cutest around.

Reading their comments on the breakup, it sounds like they want to leave behind the "idol" life and try new things. (Relationships with the opposite sex, maybe?) By that definition, Ongaku Gatas seems almost like a step backward for them. Of course, that's the standard message for all of these types of dissolutions, so there's always the chance that it's all BS.
I did like it though when she was in the Gatas Hawaii fanclub tour and was performing on stage with the other girls who are in Ongaku Gatas.

2010年5月のメロン記念日解散ライブ以降、さらなる表現力を身につけるために徹底したボイストレーニングを行ってきた柴田。デビュー曲「believe」は、「アーティストとして自分から発信したい、何かを感じてもらいたい」という強い思いから、柴田が自ら作詞に挑戦した楽曲だ。
シングルはCDのみの通常盤と、DVD付き初回限定盤の2形態。CDには共通のカップリング曲「想い出の行方」のほか、初回限定盤には「Ruby」、通常盤には「Love Me More」と異なる楽曲が収められる。
CDデビューに先駆け、来週9月21日にはNACK5の企画ライブ「ストナイLIVE!」のテーマソングとして歌われた楽曲「GENKI」が配信限定でリリース。なお、この曲の売上金は東日本大震災被災地への義援金として寄付される。

The shit i love about her new solo venture is that she's reinvented herself as an indie star. She could sure, go and do that idol music - MKB did verve off into the sexy and ultra cute - but deep down they were the grass roots rock pop, and her solo singles speak more of that, great instrumentals and lotsa soulful music. AND like she gets to the fans - sure she got the fuckin fan club pay per wallpaper, shirts and merch - who doesn't? XD but there she is hawking free magazines and going into stores meeting fans. LIKE WOW. For those who ponder "What will they do outside the UFA Umbrella?" Shiba-chan is proof positive that with hard work, GREAT THINGS HAPPEN!!! :jphip:

Only updates to find are from her twitter account. hope she finds a new agency or does some indie-rock stuff. Former Melon Kinenbi member Shibata Ayumi to resume her activities as a solo artist

On November 18, it was announced that Shibata Ayumi, a former member of idol group Melon Kinenbi (disbanded in May 2010), will resume her activities as a solo artist after she transfers agencies. Currently, she will use "Shibata Ayumi" for her activities in entertainment, but she will start to use "ayumi shibata" for her activities as an artist.
On May 31 of this year, her contract with "Trick Function"expired and on her official site, Shibata wrote, "From here on out, I will endeavor on a new career path in a new environment." On November 18, along with the announcement that she has signed with a new agency "SMC Entertainment," it was announced that her activities will focus around rock music.
Shibata reflected with, "I thought about many things and I worried…I faced myself and realized that I still like music a lot and I thought about how many times music has helped me." She followed happily with, "I am extremely happy that I can resume my activities as a solo artist!"
She implied that she wanted to connect with many people through music with, "I now want to use the power of music to deliver the ideas of 'Dream・Hope・Music' to many people and to cherish each step of the way with everyone!!"
For the first phase after her transition to her new agency, she will release her rock covers album "kick start" (to be released on February 19).
On her birthday, February 22, she will hold a solo performance entitled "ayumi shibata live 2014~kick start ~ B.D SPECIAL" at the WWW in Shibuya. Lastly, her official website "ayumi shibata official site" is live starting today (November 18.)

Hello forum users!
Was someone here already on one of the live 2014 "awake" concerts and would be so kind to give me some information or advice about this?
I will be traveling around Japan for a few months and would like to see one of the concerts
(have not decided yet whether in Tokyo on the 21.6. or Nagoya on the 22.6.).
My journey starts next week on Kyushu, I will do a lot of hikking and then have to travel to one of the concerts.
My biggest question is: Where and how do I get one of the tickets?
Are there still tickets on the day of the concert at the box office or do i get a ticket also
with any ticket distributor in every major city, such for example Fukuoka?
I am grateful for every answer and thanks for your help!

And with all the very nice and helpful people here, it's very easy to get one.
At first, ask the nice receptionist of your hostel (in Fukuoka) for help and show her the official Shibata Ayumi webside.
Write down the 5 digit code for the ticket she finds just 2 clicks away and go with it in one of the many convenient stores.
Arrived there, ask again the nice and helpful staff for help by use the ticket vending machine and give in the code.
Answer some of the questions, don't forget to pay and go with a big smile out of the shop. :D

The Nagoya concert is now 2 days ago,so here a few short lines about it.
I could spend hours to describe to you that she is one of the prettiest woman i have seen so far during my Japan trip ( greetings to the other beautiful woman, working at the Miyazaki Tourist Information :D).
But what i want to say is: Even if you are not a big fan of Shibata Ayumi, go if you have the chance to one of her concerts.
The music goes well into the ears, she has a great voice and a very charming charisma!
But take care...her smile can melt hearts! :wub:
She has definitely earned more people seeing her on stage.
So...please go to one of her concerts, its little money to hear and see a great woman!
