Wow! An AKB48 thread! I was intrigued by their official web site which seems to indicated that they perform once a day (twice a day on Saturday and Sunday). Perhaps they should be called "Idols With No Lives for Otaku With No Lives Either." Somehow that hasn't stoped them from cranking out albums, DVDs, photobooks, and a whole bunch of AKB48 merchandice - including the brand new AKB48 Yukata, which comes in every size but yours.
Is it true that they were the first idol group to require the first stage of the audition to include a text messaged application complete with cell phone photo? Talk about cutting edge...!
Unfortunately, according to one blog I came across, "The Idol Group You Can Meet" is starting to get difficult to meet, since it seems to be the same people showing up every day for their performances; in fact, he postulated that they only have about 60 or so regular fans, leaving a whole bunch of folks stuck outside unable to get in. The management, I've heard, is addressing this problem. I recommend automatic weapons.
:rocket:
However, if you're able to fight your way in, it'll cost you 2000 Yen, unless you're a woman or a junior high or high school student, in which case you can get in for mere 1000. I have no idea how much money that is, but I'm sure it's a bargain. And once you meet them, you can give a gift to the one who strikes your fancy, except, of course, for the following items which you are told you can't give her:
Anything alive (except for flowers),
Food or drink,
Gold notes (gift certificates, pass net, suica and the like),
Cosmetics perfume and the like,
And nothing that's too big that the girl can't carry it herself.
I just glad somebody besides me somebody likes these people. Just don't tell Eririn because she wouldn't understand, and I've had enough bad luck with the women in my life.
