The Ladylove Art Thread - Post Your Artwork Here
« on: April 26, 2009, 12:26:49 PM »
As the title says: post YOUR artwork here!
I mean drawings, illustrations, sketches or even paintings! But don't post anything, only artwork of girls. Don't post retouched photographs either...
Hot asian girls are highly welcome, western girls are allowed though. Manga, comics, cartoon drawings or any other style are welcome aswell.

This should be a place where anyone could share their artwork with others and get feedback.

I'll begin by posting an illustration I did recently of Rina Akiyama. It's based on a photograph, I liked the pose, drew it on paper, scanned it, used illustrator for the outlines and photoshop for the color.

I'll try to do a new one for next week.

I hope other people come to post, too! I know roninbuddha does stuff too, but I don't know if he's still around? Here's some stuff from a while back to stuff done a little more recently. Can't wait to see more, hideki!

Pornstar Clara G and some feet off to the side. One of my favorites. I'm not only happy with how it came out, but I had lots of fun doing this one. I think I did pretty well with a cartoon likeness of her. Whenever I think about her, those lips are the first thing that pop in my head. Hands and feet are tough, though I like how the left hand came out. The right not so much becuase of how her knuckles almost seem to flow right into her inner thigh. Her feet got cut off 'cause the page is too big, but they're nothing special. I spent a lot of time ending up with only decent feet. I still have a lot of trouble with feet at almost any angle. The feet on the side are practice. There are more, just cropped out. With most of my sketches I'll try to work out a part that gave me trouble in any extra space I may have on the same page.

Fetish model Mosh. WIP for a project for a Photoshop class. Not quite sure how I want to go with this. The original dress is latex. I haven't worked enough yet to start putting in the highlights to make it look shiny, but I kind of like the way it looks now. I'm gonna try for the shiny look anyway since I've never done it before.

I forget her name. Some fitness type chick. I saw her mucle tone and right away started on those curves. I toned the muscle definition down a bit but still wanted to keep her shapely attributes.

Up top is a pic based off a pose of Jelena Jensen. Wasn't going for a likeness, I saw come cool drawing of girls that had really good weight to them, especially the boobs. I tried to do something like that but don't think I succeeded. Plus, her upper arms are really short. On the bottom is Jessica Gomes. I really wanted to do it since t's such a different pose and angle than what I'm used to. Tried seeing how it would look with her left foot in the background. It wasn't there in the picture, but I wasn't going for 100% faithfulness since photos can play tricks like that. lol I tried the pose myself and don't think that's possible. I think her toes would be pointed more towards her head. I'm doing this one for my PS class too. I'm doing something with shapes for this, different than just the painting on the Mosh one.

Comments and critiques welcome.

Nice drawings arun.yothin! I think the first one is the best, but if you want to have a more cartoon look you should draw her much taller! It looks almost as if she's a 16 years old! Look at Jessica rabbit for instance (see attached picture, it's not mine) This is an old cartoon character but really a good example for a sexy cartoon girl. By the way, she's the sexiest cartoon girl I've ever seen... Her legs are long, her hips are large, her waist is slender and her boobs are huge! Furthermore her hands and her feet really small.
As my teacher says, in cartoon characters the most important are the porportions. Your drawing is something between realistic and cartoon, at least that's my opinion...

For the second one, I'm eager to see that black and yellow latex when it's finished. It makes me think of a Uma Thurman in Kill Bill and of Ayumi Hamasaki's Startin' PV. There are a few scenes in Ayu's PV where she wears black and yellow latex and rides a motorbike aswell. Man, that's so hot it litteraly leaves me mouth watering! Here's the video, maybe it will inspire you, the quality isn't very good though and skip the intro, it's bullshit! (by the way the girl in the jeep is hot as hell, I wonder who she is...)

The third one is alright.
For the last one, it would be much sexier if the top girl would look at us. For the bottom girl I think the pose is not that bad except for the neck, it doesn't look quite right. I think it deserves a big close-up aswell, I mean her face should be very big and the rest of her body in a more "pronounced" perspective... I'll show you what I mean with Mikie Hara:

The second picture is an especially good example.

Wow, that's a long post! Well, keep up the good work!

Thanks for the advice! I see what you're talking about with the proportions. I used to mostly draw more realistically (Never went for total realism, but never much towards cartooning either), but now I am trying to lean more towards more cartoonier feel. Alos after looking at some other artists I like, I see the things you're talking about with the proportions of the more womanly features.

lol That intro does suck.

Some sketches I did in between doing school work and other tasks. Counter-clockwise from top left is: Jessica Gomes, a model I only know as "Samantha", and Sam Cooke.

I made some excuses last week to not draw, so I'm trying to get back to drawing everyday.

Nice work!
I don't know any of these girls but your drawings are pretty darn good, except for the left-hand bottom girl. If you were trying a frog perspective (maybe I weren't...) than her head is way too big! And I don't like her legs and the shape of her ass either... But I really like that left-hand top drawing!

I hope more people will post in this thread. Tomorrow is national holiday in France, so I'll have plenty of time to do a new illustration. Expect something new saturday.

Thanks. Yeah, I was trying for a low angle on the girl with the big head. I have a habit of making the bodies too big in the beginning so I make the heads bigger. I think in this situation, I drew the head without paying attention to the reference. Tsk tsk. What don't you like about her ass and legs? Is it a art issue or do you just not like the shape? If you haven't seen it, the girl in the top-left has a thread here. Not much yet, but I'm hopin' to fix that.

Here's another WIP for my PS class. It's the drawing of Sam above. I did the outlines in Illustrator and I am going to color it in PS. I thought there was some kind of way to select mulitple lines and use "Divide Pathfinder" to shave off the excess, but I must've done something wrong 'cause nothing worked. I'm just gonna erase the excess in PS. My original idea was to make the bikini green and the shoes white, black or clear.

While I was working, my teacher suggesting changing the checker background pattern to mid or dark to make the lines easier to see. I actually liked the way it looked with the bright lines and dark bg, so I started to try what it would look like with a black bg and have the bikini be solid black, blending in with the bg. I did a quick run throught just to see how it would be. On Monday I'll start over and take care with the erasing. I also am gonna try to darken the outlines since it's kinda hard to see them now. Part of the hand was bothering me, but I'm not sure if it's enough for me to go back to school and fix it in Illustrator. The hair and eye (mostly the lid on the left one) are bugging me a little too. I don't know if I want to keep fussing with it or just go.

The thing I don't like the most is it looks heavily influenced by Alberto Ruiz. He's one of my favorite artists, but I don't want to draw like him. Sometimes my brother pointed out similarities when he saw my and his art, but I thought it was always just little similarities he was picking out. This one looks like I went with the intention to draw like him.

I also started putting the highlights for a shiny effect on the Mosh pic, but I saved the file on the school computer but forgot to also save it to my flash drive.

I don't like the shape of her legs and ass, it doesn't mean that it shouldn't be like that. It's just a matter of taste, I suppose.
Wow!!!! I didn't know Jessica Gomes! She is smoking hot!! I love her face and her body, it's just perfect!

No there isn't (at least I don't know any way), because Illustrator can't tell what is excess and what isn't. I usually convert overlapping strokes to shapes and erase what I don't need with the eraser tool within Illustrator. In the end I'll have clean vector outlines ready to color in Photoshop.

Things like happen all the time, I even forgot my flash drive at school twice!

Well, here's my newest illustration! It took me much longer than I expected...  It may seem a little weird, so let me explain: I was learning Japanese from a book a few weeks ago. I came to the chapter about body parts and there was a drawing of a girl and fuck! She was such a turnoff!! I thought it would be much enjoyable to learn with a sexy girl instead :D! So I came up with this and I'm actually going to use this to learn! I just hope I didn't do any mistakes. If someone spots a mistake, please tell me and I'll correct it. The attached picture is big enough to be printed.
I'm not very happy with the face though. She wasn't supposed to look like that. The reference was Nozomi Sasaki and as you can see it doesn't look like her at all... It was very hard to draw the face that small and make it look like Nozomi.

Well, nobody commented my last illustration... Is it really that boring? Maybe nobody is interested in learning the japanese names for body parts.

I did another illustration today. This time I really tried to draw a realistic face and make it look like the reference photo. But I think it is still hard to recognize who the girl is. I won't tell her name, you will have to find out yourself. By the way I censored it for you, because this illustration is more about her face and I suppose nobody's interested in the hidden parts...

NO WAY! I live for nipples!
I can only identify like 5, maybe 10 japanese models by face, so I don't think I could pick out your girl. Cool drawing though. :thumbsup

Cool idea, everything becomes more fun with cute girls. I think the pose is kinda flat, though. I think making her stand a little more upright could put more life into her. When I first saw this, I thought of the "Amazon" segment done with Nikkala Stott at BodyInMind.com. In the segment. Nikkala stands while the camera circles around her and a narrartor(Nikkala) describes the body of The Amazon. If you want to check out a preview, here's one: http://www.bodyinmind.com/hosted/Amazon_Nikkala_Stott.htm

I drew my own before I could find a picture example, but the front on pose wasn't clear so I did a quick sketch of the side.

It was just supposed to be a gesture, but I was having fun. Mine is more of a fun/cute kinda pose while Nikkala's is more powerful. The basic idea was chest forward and ass back to make her look confident. It's like she's posing with the knowledge that she's being studied. I don't know maybe that's another matter of taste. I was looking at some workout stuff, that explains the outfit and ponytail. It has nothing to do with your drawing. I think it would be cool if you did more lessons with cute girls illustrating them. Like a bunch of girls in different uniforms for sports or doing different morning rituals (Brushing teeth, showering, brushing hair, getting dressed, etc).

No one else has posted. :( I know KLSADAKO drew some pictures of Maki and posted those like a year ago and I saw him posting again recently. Hopefully he'll come in here. I don't know who else here draws.

Some of the work I turned in yesterday. I had put a little rush on them since I couldn't put in the time I wanted to before the due date. Any suggestions would be great.

I did this one using all shapes in PS. I would do something like this in Illustrator, but it was a PS class. I tried to make the head a little bit bigger. I was trying to make it really simple, just buidling with shapes. Something about the eye bugs me, I think it may be the shape. Maybe a streak or two in the hair could help too.

Another one of Jessica. I think the solid black hair works a little better here. I would like to put this one through Illustrator or InkScape. Except for the foot, I like this one.

The Mosh pic finished...sorta. I only put in one highlight in the dress. I forgot my reference pic

Sam Cooke finished with the black bikini going into the background. I've liked a lot of pictures where artists did this, where some article of clothing is implied (I guess that's the term?). I thought about redoing this entirely in AI or IS without the outlines, but I think I'm just gonna leave and and do another pic.

I have a watercolor class and a portrait class coming up soon, so I'll put up anything appropriate in here.

That's a brilliant idea!!! That would be great but the problem is I don't know much about girls' morning rituals... :(
By the way, your drawing is very nice! Except the her foot I must say, it has a really weird shape... And if you want her to look more confident (if it is what your trying to do here) then I guess it would be better to lean her head upwards but make the eyes look down.

Some of the work I turned in yesterday. I had put a little rush on them since I couldn't put in the time I wanted to before the due date. Any suggestions would be great.

Well, I think her eye is too close to nose but it's kinda hard to say what's wrong since it's made with shapes. And her hand is overlapping her strap, I guess you didn't do it on purpose.

Well for Jessica's picture I first thought... She was on mud! It should be sand, shouldn't it? Even if sand can be very brown when it's wet, people will identify it better if it's yellow. Well that's what I would do, you don't have to if you don't agree.

For your Mosh picture I was expecting more highlights, it doesn't look like latex yet.

Your picture of Sam Cooke is alright but there's something weird about the edges. The edges are very crisp, they're not anti-aliased I suppose. You can see it especially in the face. You said you did the edges in illustrator, right? Maybe you forgot to check an anti-alias checkbox somewhere when you exported it.

By the way I've never tried Inkscape. Does it have any functions unavailable in Illustrator? Anything worth trying?

Well you could do any subject. I just said morning rituals so I could mention showers. ;)

Originally it was just going to be a figure with no details. I got carried away and drew a face then clothes. I stopped myself before I got down to the feet.

About the Jessica on the bed pic, her eye is very close in. Thanks, I hadn't noticed that 'til you pointed it out. The inside point of her eye looks like it almost lines up with the middle of her nose.

The other Jessica pic, I don't know. I was thinking sand, but just did the mud brown without thinking.

My brother has PS so I could still finish the Mosh pic. With other things I had to turn in, I left that one as it was.

The edges in the Sam pic aren't anti-aliased. I think I forgot. I didn't look at it up close so I didn't see it.

Inkscape is supposed to be liek a free alternative to Illustrator. I've heard people say that it's good and you can do the same things, but all of the names are different, but that there are lists that tell you what things are in both programs. I tried it for a little bit, and it similar. I'm not experienced with AI, so you'll probably notice a lot more.

All the names are different?! That sounds terrible to me.

A few Goto Maki drawings ^^

Well, I love photographs, I love illustrations but I don't like photorealistic drawings... It's just a matter of taste. But I think you very are skilled. The first picture though looks inferior to the others, maybe it's an older drawing? The hair looks washed-out, no highlights... Besides I don't like the composition or should I say the framing. Don't cut people's eyes like that!
The other three pictures are much better. The third one looks very flat, the deatils are perfect but there are not many shadows (or they're too subtle). I think the best drawings are the 2nd one and the last one. I'm critizing a lot, but I'm well aware I'm not as skilled as you... And by the way I really like Maki Goto.

Well this is my newest illustration, but it isn't finished yet. This time I tried do an illustration in one of my favourite artist's style: Tony Taka. It's based on a photograph of Risa Kasumi (a JAV actress). I changed the head and the underwear. The pose is exactly the same. It looks a little bit like Tony Taka's drawings but I'm not very happy with the outlines. Tony Taka's outlines are always super clean and very thin. I' couldn't manage to do that with an HB pencil... I'll probably finish the color this week-end.

hey no offense taken over here, we all have our own taste ^^

Yes the 1st one is the oldest out of the lot, and the actual photo ended on the top like that, which is what I found unique which is why I chose it ^^

Do u have any hand drawn pencil art? cos I prefer that to the computer stuff  :D

A few more drawings.

The first is Aya Ueto, it is regarded (not by me) as my best drawing I have ever done, it was done in 2006 and took around a month, lol

This one is of Namie Amuro also done in 2006 ^^

This one is BoA done in 2005, this is probably the first drawing I was really proud with ^^

Thanks arun, they are all done on A3, but not all of them fill the paper, as I get lazy sometimes ^^
I usually never spend more than 2 weeks on a drawing, but sometimes some take longer and some are finished quicker

This drawing is Hwang Mi Hee, maybe my current fave gal at the moment, and it's one of my fave drawings I did last year ^^
