The new year has started, but what will happen in the future?
This thread is for both serious and wacky predictions (which could even turn out to become reality haha) about everything related to the 48 empire. Correct prediction = bragging rights! :lol:
I predict:
- 2012 will be make or break for Kasai. If the rumors are true and she's not in the senbatsu for the upcoming AKB48, then things are looking grim. I doubt we'll ever get that PB.
- Something has to happen with Watarirouka Hashiritai. Mayu going solo has to affect the group + Wasamin's going solo/different agency. The girls are all growing up, so their super cutesy image will become awkward sooner or later. One option could be to add Mtasubara and Nonaka and change the image of the group or form a new group.
- First SKE48 sub-unit! I'm thinking Akane center, no Matsui involved.
- Kashiwagi Yuki 2nd PB
- Graduation candidates: Mariko, Katayama, Sato Natsuki, Chisato, Kobayashi

Realizing the marketability of AKB's girls, Macallan launches a campaign to enter the Japanese market, complete with Tomochin, Acchan, Mariko, Kojiharu, & Oshima in a CM for their whiskies XD

We've now got the SKE kissing PV. I predict AKB to top this with a PV in which 2 main members are shown waking up in bed together with the clear implication that they have slept with each other :lol:
And Yuko and Mayuyu will get their own sub unit. OSR48 (I think this is what they called their proposed Oshiri sisters group when they were joking around once) XD
Serious predictions though...
I think that Maeda Ami's gonna get a real boost in the next year. I feel like she's been getting a lot more attention and I'm wondering if she'll either be put into an exisiting sub-unit or maybe be given a new sub-unit to lead.
An announcement that Takamina will be getting a solo single.

Acchan, Tomochin, Rena, Yuko, Yukirin will have to miss some events/stages due to health issues at least 3 times.
Acchan got her solo single around June again.
Kawaei and TakaJuri got promoted.
Some unexpected girls graduate, Mariko still stays by the end of the year.

Here's a mix of serious and wacky, but I won't say which are which:
-HoriPro finally gets a "permanent" subunit with Kasai Tomomi as center.
-Since WH(7) are getting older, SKE48 will have a new cutesy subunit with Kimoto Kanon as center.
-SKE48 will have their first Senbatsu election.
-Kureha no Station will win the SKE48 Request Hour for the 3rd year in a row.
-After her 18th birthday Fujie Reina will film her 3rd IV. It will be called "Barely Clothed Girl".
-Sakura no Hanabiratachi 2012 will be released. It will be sung by every girl under the xxx48 umbrella and have a 30+ minute long PV.
-At a concert called "We absolutely swear there won't be any surprises at this one. No, really!", Acchan will announce her graduation.

-Mariko does not graduate, however online fans predict her graduation every five minutes. Mariko enjoys trolling the fandom.
-DiVA does a shittastic remix of Kimi wa Pegasus and/or Return Match
-AKB is given their own team at Kouhaku to balance the numbers out. Somehow they still win.
-Honmayan gets a spinoff

Gonna add in some of my own wants predictions:
- Yuka, Nacchi and/or Takamina solo debut.
- Nacchi/Shiichan vocal/rap duet release (more doable than NTako duet 'cuz of agencies).
- Takamina manages to not have the ribbon in her hair for an entire month.
- Nacchi and Nacchan finally get a push.
- 2nd Rumi PB/IV.
- The revival of NacchiNon.
- Yui signs with OtaPro (finally).

TakAcchan, SaeYaka, & KojiYuuko publicly announce "coming out of the closet" :lol:

- Amp kindly invites me to the wedding, which eventually leads to my marriage to Takamina. There are bows everywhere.
-Yuko and Takamina start saying "If we were allowed to date" instead of "If I were a man" about their respective girlfriends.
-Ichikawa Miori successfully turns into a lemon. Aki-P writes a song about it and the first fruit is center of an AKB single
-Every single person but Takamina goes solo in AKB
-Takamina and Yuko are paired together for the first round of the next Janken tournament. Somehow they both still lose.
-Aki-P does a reverse senbatsu election where the people with the least amount of votes win. An obscure 15th gen who no one remembered becomes center.
-AKB announces tour plans literally everywhere but North America. They are well received in Africa.

- AKBingo gets the boot, and we get some new awesome show to replace it.
- Another bikini-rich PV this summer.
- My wedding reception with Yui is crashed by an angry & drunken Mayu, who proceeds to kick me in the balls, and vomit in the punchbowl, before finally passing out and collapsing on the cake.
- Another 1/48 game, this time on PS3, and set in the USA and/or France, with FMV replacing the slideshow.
- Ume will rub Masa's bald head, for good luck in the next election.
- AKB photobook featuring feet.
- Someone from SDN goes into porn.

-AKB or a sister group will travel to a country other than Singapore this year. Aki-P still hasn't given up on selling that concept, as recent interviews have revealed. I can see it happening for marketing if nothing else.
-More video games, maybe on a console and more interactive as others have said.
-Shawako's rank at the AKB senbatsu election will go up even further.
-SKE subunit will happen.
-Something to replace SDN48. Subunit with 20-somethings?

Hmm, I'm not so sure. She is getting pretty old in comparison to the rest of the girls. I think Ue Kara Mariko may have been planned to be her last "hurrah".

November 17th, 2012: Sashihara Rino will pick up a gold ring close to her house. If she delivers it to the police station (as lost and found), she will have the chance of meeting that 'special someone'. The person who lost that ring is A.H.
There will also be a Sashiko Legend that will come about this year; Sasshi will challenge at something and people will want to copy that

Okay, first things first. I am new here but have been following idols (especially AKB AND H!P) since '06 (I'm 19). Second, I haven't looked around to see if there is a similar or identical thread out there so if I've accidentally plagiarized you i'm sorry.
Anyway, now that's out the way what do you all think are potential future twists and developments for the AKB franchise? I came up with this list in about 10 minutes:
1. Intergroup reshuffle between AKB, SKE, NMB and HKT
2. Rural Sister group
3. Sister group without a set base, touring group theme
4. Recreate SDN48
5. JNR48- sister group featuring kids
6. JNY48- Male or Mixed-sex group, possibly as collaboration with Johnny’s
7. International sister group outside Asia
8. Sister group for Nogizaka46
9. En Mass graduation of members born before 1990, or another age based graduation
10. En Mass graduation of 1st and 2nd gen members, or another generation based graduation
11. Collaboration unit with another idol franchise, similar to AKBIdoling!
12. Extend Team 4 and 8 expansion to sister groups
13. New original stages for all teams from every group
14. Relocation of AKBs or a sister groups theatre
15. Abandonment of the theatre concept
16. Non-singing sister group, such as an acting group, musical instrument group, sporting group etc.
17. Graduation of Akimoto Yasushi
18. Discontinuation of sister group(s) or AKB itself
I've probably made some glaring omissions, so i want to know what other potential twists you think might happen. Some of the options are more "out there" than others so which of the listed options and others do you think is most likely to happen? (a full list would be coooool 8) ) And finally which would you want to happen, if any. :twothumbs

-Kasai WILL get a PB within 12 months!
-Oshima Yuko will be injured or have something to do with exhaustion before the year is up.
-SKE48 will face a serious scandal.

On November 23rd, AKB48 appeared on a special live broadcast program on the Mihama, Chiba bayfm station.
8 members of the group including Oshima Yuko (24), Shinoda Mariko (26), Takahashi Minami (21), and Kojima Haruna (24) appeared on the special program that is produced and broadcast once every fall. The program opened with a talk on “10 years later” between the group’s executive producer Akimoto Yasushi (54) and the members.
Akimoto predicted that Shinoda and Kojima will remain in AKB, and that Oshima will become an actress. He also stated that, “Takahashi will spend her working life with AKB by becoming AKB’s general manager,” and that she would gain recognition for her work just as former Yomiuri Giants player and manager Nagashima Shigeo (76) has for his contributions to the team. “Manager” Takahashi responded with, “I am ‘Mr. Position!’”

With the end of the year just two weeks away and inspired by the Kouhaku I predict the order in which the 1st gen members will graduate.
1- Itano
2- Minegishi
3- Kojima
4- Shinoda
5- Takahashi
I think Itano graduates next year and the rest in a spam of 3 years. I don't think Takamina will stay with AKB as a GM for ever as Akimoto Yasushi predicted (wishes). I think her ambiton won't let her as much as she loves AKB.
I also predict the fandom to freak out over every single incoming graduation, no matter how long the girl has been on the group or how stale her career has become on AKB.
I also predict that every girl Akimoto Yasushi loves and tries to push I will not like and every girl he leaves on the sidelines will be my favorites. Not much of a prediction honestly, more like a statement of difference in taste.

Actually, a new theater for AKB wouldn't surprise me at all... Obviously not the tokyo dome, but I could see them going for something bigger.
My prediction... It's a bold prediction, one that is likely wrong. But I predict Erena Ono is coming back into the fold. No idea why, just feel it in me bones.

I have only ONE prediction...
Akimoto-sensei will decide to grow the worldwide AKB sensation farther and make a group in America called USA48! ...or something.

I predict that Oshima Yuko will graduate next year.

Let's do this!
- Yokoyama Yui will peak this year. She'll make top 10 and do something amazing.
- Kawaei Rina will be the next all-round ace. She has the variety appeal, nice mix of cute/sexy and is a good performer. She will enter top 16 this year and enter the top in 2015.
- There will be another "kami 7" member to graduate before Kojima Haruna. I think Haruna will stay on longer than most people expect.
- Despite Yuko's absence, Mayu still won't win the election. Nothing against her at all, but it seems her fate.
- Sasshi will graduate late 2014 to focus on management duties, producing and variety. HKT48's exposure will suffer.
- We'll get a Matsui Jurina photobook which will be awkward to look at for whatever reason.
