LinQ is the fastest rising Indies group in idol genre today having only made their debut on April 17 and securing a record contract with Tower Records new idol label T-Palette Records shortly after their debut .T-Palette which started in June by the way is run by Minewaki Ikuo who is a self- professed "wota" and a ranking official of Tower Records is also one of the fastest rising labels in  idol genre with a number of groups nationwide under contract.

LinQ are from Fukuoka and before Aki-P decided to put another 48 in their backyard had joined with several other Fukuoka groups to become the dominate idol groups in Kyushu .
The name LinQ comes from the groups desire to link all of Kyushu in energetic idol love and to make Fukuoka a city of idol culture .

When LinQ was created in February 2011  when a total of 1,162 girls auditioned ranging from the age of 12-24 .After the original roster was selected the group made their debut on April 17 and started to perform lives around Fukuoka and surrounding towns.

looks like Takaki Yuumi (just watching the members i posted at the first page) but if you ask me she might be cute and probably have a loud voice but something about her is kinda annoying, i think is her sight/eyes plus isn't cute as Kohime from Afilia Saga and you know, since i know her that's the standard to beat

They seem really cute and their songs sound nice but I really hope this isn't another group who's trying to be AKB in terms of size. J-music producers seem to be forgetting the quality over quantity rule

I’m not sure how to reply to this without falling into misunderstandings and all that. AKB is the main idol group right now, and whether you like it or not, and they, somehow, shape how the image of idols, the discourse, ways to communicate with their audience, media and marketing strategies, conversations and expectations about them are understood. So yes, of course, LinQ are molded on that shape.

But, they also bring their own spin on that model of doing things. To use an example: The Beatles was a massive and successful pop group. They have a drummer, two guitars and a bass player. You could argue that, every pop or rock group using that line-up, somehow are copycats. Even if The Beatles didn’t invent that group formation or certainly, that many, many groups did lots of different things with it. Is an argument that annoys me: men are under the influence or they react to it, women only copy other women. AKB have been a very important group on my life, and I still respect it, but really can’t tell you how annoying are comparisons with them. Mostly because they are pointless, unfair or really throwing their name around is to make the guy speaking some kind of expert when he is usually only is hot air or only is throwing shit around. On those type of pages based on 2ch that talk about gravure idols, you can always expect that somebody downthread, will point something about AV. The only surprise is how soon or late it will come. The AKB comparisons are something like these.

I’m not saying that you are doing this or not saying that it is a pointless thing to do (as I have tried to do on the first paragraph), but, in the way they are usually done are just a way of ignoring whatever qualities or virtues the “copycat” idol group have on their own. A way to transcend it to talk about “the BIG things”. Standard internet fare, dreams of intellectual grandeur, boring, things to ignore. Maybe the point is interesting in the end, and the conversation worth having, but somehow they have to surpass these fences.

Somehow, I was waiting for this to appear to post again on this thread, because of this:

That is, an apology from the group management, distancing themselves for the opinions his ex-producer shared on that Ustream show. I saw that show and was utterly bizarre. Nearly two hours of the guy being asked by some of the who-is-who on otakuland (in this side of things) about his opinions (and gossip) about almost every current idol group. Same people that later slashed him on Twitter, forums, blogs, etc. I don’t understand Japanese, so mostly the parts that I caught retweeted by some people: HKT manager skipping him, Afilia girls’ not talking between them (not even saying “hi”) when they are out of stage, Shizukaze & Kizuna not wanting to sell (supposedly it was supposed to be understood as not wanting to “sell-out”), T-Palette as enemy that looks as friend, etc. (also bit about BiS and Dorothy Little Happy, AKB (of course) or his predilection about Super Girls and TGS as business model, but there was more (Passpo, Hello! Project, etc.). Was a very bizarre thing, a hell of a performance (it even started on Twitter where the guy posted the bathroom of the MC, that is, what happens behind the surface), some people arguing that he was (already) drunk, and also a very strange thing to see: somebody probably ruining his career (who is going to contract his company if you have the chance that they are going to vent your internal affairs in this way? How many industry bridges burnt in one session?).

In less traumatic things, former songwriting team is going to produce next single for Lovely Doll (also TRICK8f are going to release a new single on May).

Hi all, think this might be my first post here.

I'm a big fan of LinQ.  I used to be solely into 48G before I went to TIF last year.  There I discovered LinQ, i have been to visit them in Fukuoka and met and keep in contact with a lot of the fans.

I'm writing here as soon, 8th July, is Shirosaki Haruna's birthday and I will be going to Japan for this and have also been keeping in touch with her birthday committee.  I asked them if I was able to collect birthday messages from overseas and they said that would be good if I could.

LinQ were playing several times on my trip, but managed to always be at other events, so always missed them. Would still like to see them live... would have made more of an effort if Chisei was at the events I had the chance to attend.

Hmm, I think it's pretty common for idols to follow random idol fans on twitter to try and gain new ones... and sometimes it works!

It must be a Japanese thing for a lot of idols to follow people back. It feels good for a moment until you realize they have almost the same number of followers as people they follow.

As the article says, they are both turning 30 this year, so not too surprising. Chisei was my favourite in the group. I never spoke to her, but glad I got to see her once at the only time she did the 5nin live at Akiba Cultures.
