Germany - Italy 3-0
Canada - Slovakia 3-2
Czech Republic - Denmark 2-0
Belarus - Finland 0-1
Sweden - Norway 3-1

Canada hasn't had good luck during that last two (2010 & 2011) World Championships. As a result, we've only been ranked 5th for this year's tournament.

Our boys need to get their asses in gear, especially seeing as how the next Olympics are only a couple of year's away, and that only ranked in the the Top 9 (I think) are given Olympic eligibility.

Finland-Belarus after first period.

Been an almost complete Finnish domination but scoring be hard for Finland as usual, it seems.

The Canada-Slovakia (ended 3-2) game was kinda interesting. I thought Canada would have a much easier time with Slovakia, but they had to really fight for that win.

Czech-Denmark (ended 2-0), holy smokes how boring. Denmark was even dominating at one point but just couldn't score. Czech fuckin' sleepwalking.

So far, so good. Unfortunately Finland has a bad habit of making their opponent's goalies look amazing. Our boys were definitely impressive in the 1st period but they gotta start scoring...

Luckily it's still early on in the round-robin. Still, our boys have got to get more assertive and "take charge" of the pace of these games, instead of just fumbling along and trying to "keep up" with their opponents.

What the fuck happened, Finland? After a brilliant first period it all went downhill. Canada used all their scoring chances well.

Disappointing night, especially 'cause it started so well. Not even a particularly good game of hockey.

What a pathetic showing from Finland. I sure am glad our team qualified already for the quarters, but this utterly shitty performance doesn't make me too confident in their chances of repeating as champions...

With one game left to play in the round robin (Tuesday versus Belarus), I'm worried about Canada's chances in the playoff round. It isn't necessarily a good thing to have all of the "tough" opponents early on and just "coast" through the so-called easier teams afterwards. The team could be in for a rude awakening, not to mention another early playoff exit if they go from (no offense to Belarus) a cakewalk team to a top-tier team right away.

or the 18,000 fans who show up to Canada vs France and toher games dressed as seats. WOW. ticket fucking prices eh. That's what happened at the World Juniors here, made it all a lottery system.
