While Kento Nakajima from Sexy Zone and actress Ayami Nakajo starred as the two leads, Okinawan actress and model Natsumi Ikema, just 16 at the time, landed the role of the series’ herorine, Kosaki Onodera.
Not only starring in film, she’s also made appearances in FT Shiseido’s “Sea Breeze Deo & Water/Body Sheet” and McDonald’s “McDonald’s Real Take Waffle Cone” commercials. Despite being virtually unknown, Ikema was suddenly headed to become a next big star.
Originally she belonged to entertainment agency, Production Office Color’s, until junior high school, and was active as a member of dance vocal unit Lollipop. After graduating junior high, she separated from her parents and recently moved to Tokyo spring of 2018. She now belongs to Rising Production, the same agency other entertainment professionals like Daichi Miura, w-inds., and Arisa Mizuki belong to, and she’s building a steady track record to success.
Tracing back to the 90s, there has been a steady stream of short-haired actresses, like Ryoko Hirosue, Aya Ueto, Rena Nonen (Non), and Suzu Hirose, regularly achieving breakthrough success. Natsumi Ikeda is now at its forefront, just waiting to catch her big global break.
