This though, brings to mind her previous solo performance of Suppin to Namida. While she didn't quite cry there, she was also obviously keeping a lid on her emotions. I wonder why it's this type of song that usually draws out the drama queen in her. Is she simply over-invested in the performance or is there something more to it? Hard to tell, but I suspect she does know about heartbreak, which means that she probably has loved someone before (she's definitely old enough to have experienced it at least once or twice, though in her case it just has to be hidden...). As a fanfic writer this interests me of course, and I have the stirrings of a one shot in my mind, but really...
Emo!Ai is such an overused trope (that I created!
) but evidence continues to pile up that I'm right.
Still, it does give her performances a certain depth.
