Get with the winning group everybody  :P

They're outselling MM since the Pepper Keibu release.

Seriously, I'm glad AKB is appealing to a wider crowd. You can admit you like AKB48 and not be labbeled a perv  :nervous

Actually I'm not happy with their success. The more singles they sold the shittier their singles became. Iiwake Maybe is their 1st No.1 single, but also the worst AKB single so far. Crap.- I preferred AKB more when they were small, provocative, different and with less "crowd appeal". - If this continues I see AKB going down the toilet just like MM did it some years ago.   :P

Hmmm... interesting.  I became a fan later than you did, so I kinda missed out on the whole seifuku/keibetsu era.. in addition, I really like AKB's current songs. Still, I get where you're coming from.. I mean, AKB48 is already losing some of the things which make them special, right? With the new approach to two-shots and the like.

Shut up.

The worst single is NamiSapu.

When Meetan and Nontii will leave in October, who will be the oldest member in the group?

Yes.

But anyways, you should be less rude with AKB. Sometimes I wonder if you're a hater in disguise.

I've been a fan since aitakatta so I've been through the eras and yeah we're due an edgy single but honestly for summer time I think having happy and bright singles suits it more.
I don't mind so long as the stages keep their variety up and oh look, they are.

My least favourite singles are  boky no taiyo, yuuhi and babyx3(in that order).  Babyx3 has grown on me more recently but the other two it seems unlikely.  Yuuhi is an ok song but hardly a single.

I travel by train a lot, usually late in the afternoon when you can see the sun setting. Then, when Yuuhi comes around on my iPod it's just the perfect song. Nice and relaxed, sitting in a train after a day of hard work.. excellent. But yes, as a single it probably wasn't the best choice.

For me singles aren't always the best song but there's certain...criteria singles should fall into.

I've had yuuhi come on my mp3 player at the perfect moments before but like...I don't really listen to it outside those moments.  Singles need to have a wider appeal I guess is what I'm thinking.

Well, I just dislike NamiSapu. I can't stand it. Whewn I hear the "happy bday to you" I feel like throwing my radio from the window. :smhid

HOWEVER, I'm still happy they had sold so well with it, even if I don't like it.

I don't think we will see dark songs again as singles. But at least we can still have that content is stage songs. We all know stages songs are much better than singles most of the time  :P

I love dancing to namisapu so I couldn't hate it for that reason alone <3

Maybe we can hope for some dark b-sides? lol and yeah stage songs are usually better.

Yea, b-sides are more likely to be dark. 109 was kind of dark, at least.

Shihori Suzuki quits AKB48

Mon, August 31, 2009 (2:07am EDT)

15-year-old idol Shihori Suzuki, currently belonging to AKB48's "kenkyuusei" team, unexpectedly announced on Saturday that she is leaving the group. The news came just a week after Suzuki was promoted to become a regular member of Team B.

Earlier in August, when AKB48 surprised fans with major roster changes, Suzuki was one of twelve kenkyuusei members who were chosen to join the main AKB48 unit this coming October. But according to her blog post, she said that when her promotion was announced, she realized her own "half-heartedness" and felt that she could not continue with her "naive way of thinking," while her peers were desperately trying to achieve their dreams. Instead of worrying and being unable to move forward as part of AKB48, she hopes to figure out her own dream by herself and work directly towards it.

Suzuki officially leaves AKB48 at the end of August, but she will still participate in a handshake event on September 20 as planned. Her last stage performance with the group was on August 29, when she announced her resignation.
