In Love With Royalty Chapter 14
They arrived back in the city in no time and after a swift recovery from the commanders and Jurina, they trial went underway. He was found guilty of all charges and sentenced to death. The day before he was set to die, Jurina went into his cell and asked him to take a walk with her as they once did when they were younger. He was fitted into his royal outfit once more and they both went out to the garden.
"Ahhh… this is marvelous."
"It is…"
"So… little sister. What is it that you wanted to talk about?
"I just… I… why…? Why did you kill father? Why did you destroy the kingdom that was destined to be yours?"
"Why? So many questions little one… but I guess… it because I knew that no matter how good of a ruler I would be… I would never be as good as you."
"Me…?"
"Yes. You. I watched you study. I taught you things. How to fight, how to dance, how to discern right from wrong… but you knew more than I did in the end. The people love you now. They would have hated me if I were the ruler."
"Then father…"
"He was planning on killing mother. He was having an affair with one of the maids. I saw him one night as I was going up to the astronomy tower. He was planning to kill mother that very night. I confronted him, trying to change his mind but he was angry. He told me not to tell but I refused. He attacked me, ruthless in his blows. I had no choice but to kill him."
"I…"
"Don't believe it? It's okay… I didn't think you would… but its true. Plus… that got me out of being a ruler. I allowed you to be the ruler and look! Everyone loves you! You're popular and gracious. I do not regret my choice."
"Even if it cost you your life right now?"
"Of course. I helped raise a wise ruler. The people are in good hands. Oh… I'm sorry about talking about Matsui-hime like that... I need you to hate me more so you could kill me. She truly is a beauty though. Good catch, little one!"
"I don't… know what to say…"
"Nothing. Just be good. That's all I ask. Forgive me or not, it's okay… but be good. Be happy."
Jurina stopped walking while Kirk kept walking. He stops a little way in front of her, looking at the pond. She stared at his back, watching the man she once admired and loved. He was her older brother and he was the one that played with her when he was young. He took the blame when she broke a vase or knocked over something precious. He taught her to fight and to argue. He taught her many things that she still uses today. Suddenly, somewhere in her gut, she KNOWS he was telling the truth. But what was said by the court was final. She ran up and hugged him, burying her face in his back, quietly crying. He turned around and hugged her tightly. He lifte her head up and wiped her tears away.
"You're the prince… you shouldn't be crying."
"But…"
"No. Just promise me that you'll be happy, be god, and have many grandchildren! They'll be gorgeous children…"
Jurina let out a light laugh and he smiled, both of their smiles matching. He leaned down and kissed her forehead like he used to when they were children and when she was crying after hurting her knee or scraping her elbow.
"Ne… big brother?"
"Yes?"
"I… love you…"
"I love you too, little one."
They stayed out, talking and catching up. She told him everything about what she had been up to and he laughed at some of her moments. At nightfall, he had dinner with her and returned to his cell. The next day, he was hung at the square. Jurina wasn't present as she sat in the castle throne room, looking at the throne. She could see the time when her father sat there and Kirk and her would run around at his feet. A tear slid down her cheek as she cried, knowing that the last of her family had just left her forever. She felt a hand on her shoulder and she threw herself against the owner of said hand. Rena lightly stroked her hair, as her dear prince cried in her arms. Not long after this event, Jurina had asked Rena to marry her and Mayu had her child. They had a healthy baby girl and was joked that her eyes looked just like Yuki's. Jurina and Rena's wedding was grand and as Rena walked down the aisle with Shi-chan escorting her and and Mari throwing flowers at them, everyone just had to stare at her radiant beauty. All the commanders stood there in their glossy armor made specifically for this, their faces shined with pride as they watched their young ruler marry a beautiful girl who they knew would love her forever. AS Shi-chan let go of her hand, she kissed the back of it and hugged her.
"Congratulations, Hime."
"Thank you, Prince Shi-chan."
Shi-chan smiled before stepping back to stand with the other commanders. It was found out later on that Shi-chan was actually a prince of a country that was once very lively. Now, that country is no more but they gave her the title of prince anyways. Rena walked up to stand beside the smartly armored Prince as they stood in front of the priest. The ceremony went as planned and as he announced that Jurina could kiss the bride, everyone stood up and cheered while the commanders drew their swords and raised them to the air. As they finished the kiss and stood at the head of the stairs, Shi-chan walked up and placed her sword at Rena's feet. She kneeled down and bowed her head.
"As a knight, I do hereby pledge to you, Matsui Rena, to serve and protect you whenever needed and/or called upon. I will do what I must in order to grant what you wish for. My loyalty lies with you and my Lord, Matsui Jurina."
Rena smiled and took up her sword before handing it back to her. She told her to stand up and once she did, Rena curtsied as Shi-chan bowed.
"I would gladly have a knight such as yourself be here to aid me. Thank you, Sir Mizuki."
The other knights, one by one, went up to pledge their loyalty to her. She thanked each one graciously and by the end, she was crying. She had married someone who loves her for her and had friends/knights who were willing to fight and die for her. That night, they had a grand feast and celebrations for the wedding. Not long after, Yuko introduced Jurina to her magic pill and shortly after the introduction, Rena was found to be pregnant with none other than Jurina's child. They eagerly awaited and after 9 months of craziness, a gorgeous baby girl was born to them. Her eyes were like Rena's but her smile was like Jurina's. Not long after Kanon was born, Shi-chan, or better known as Mizuki now, announced her engagement to Yuki, her dear princess. As the years passed, everyone was soon married and happy. Jurina's people loves her more and more everyday and her child is growing up to be a very polite but fierce lady… just like her two mothers.
