Chapter 16 - Can I still meet you?
Rena’s POV
I woke up yawning as I stretched my aching body after that long travel in the airplane last night. I stood up from my bed and walked to the window. Opening the curtain, I squinted my eyes as the rays of morning sun shined on my tired face. As I opened the window, I took a deep breath, inhaling the fresh scent of morning dews and breeze.
“It’s a wonderful morning, isn’t it…?”
Suddenly, a hand wrapped around my waist followed by a pair of lips landed on my cheek. My eyes widen as I jumped in startle at the presence of someone else in my house.
“Where have you been all this time, Rena-chan? I miss you badly…..” A voice spoke out….. A voice I’ve been longing to hear…..
“Jurina….” I turned around and looked at her. “I miss you too.”
I hug her with all my life, not wanting to let her go… after all this time I’ve been waiting, I don’t want to lose Jurina again.
A chuckle sounded from Jurina as she kissed my head.
“Hey, Rena-chan…”
“Un…?”
“How are you?”
I raised my head, giving her a pout. “Miserable.”
“Eh? Why? Who made you miserable?”
I immediately turn around after seeing Jurina’s smirked. I crossed my hands as I stare out the window.
“The one sharing the same surname as me...”
“Hmm… Let me guess.” I can see Jurina made a pondering act from the reflection on the window, “Is the one sharing the same surname as you, is a cute person?”
“Well, just a bit.” I said with a shrug, wanting to tease her back.
“Ehh… Then, is she…” Jurina slowly gets closer to me, “... pretty?”
“I’m prettier than her.” I said proudly, making Jurina giggled cutely.
“I agree to that…” Jurina turned me around, making me face her straight to her eyes. “But there’s one thing you can’t beat her, though…”
Jurina pulled me closer, trapped me in her embrace as I put both hands on her chest.
“W-what’s that?” I replied in a stutter, the way she looked into my eyes making my heart beats erratically.
“It’s…” Her eyes bore deeply into my soul, making me feel naked under her gaze as if she can see everything I’ve been hiding from her. “My love for you…”
Just as she confessed to me, her lips met mine in a sweet kiss. My breath hitched for a second, feeling shocked with the kiss. But after a few seconds, I relaxed myself and closed my eyes. It was magical. All I can see is sparkles and fireworks from Jurina’s kiss. She pulls away after our lungs cried for air.
“Jurina…”
“Yes?”
“I love you too, Jurina.”
Suddenly, stream of tears flow down Jurina’s cheek. She is crying, but not because she is sad… It’s like the tears of happiness. She smiled as she wipes my eyes.
“Eh?” I didn’t realized I cried too…
“I’m glad I get to finally hear you said that, Rena-chan…”
“Jurina, I’m sorry… After all this while-” She puts a finger on my lips while shaking her head.
“It’s okay, Rena-chan… I don’t need to hear all that. I just need to know that you love me too. That’s all.”
The way she smiled while crying is somewhat painful for me to see. I reach out for Jurina, wanting to embrace her but my hand got past her… I could see blood flowing out from her body…...
“Eh? What… what’s happening?”
“I guess it is time.”
“What? What time? What are you talking about, Jurina?”
“I’m sorry, Rena-chan. I love you.. “
Suddenly, Jurina’s body slowly fades out into thin air.
“Wait… wait, no! No! Jurina!”
I tried to grab her hand but I only grab the air. She smiled at me in a sorrow way, tears flowing down her face.
“Don’t, Rena-chan… don’t cry for me. It’s useless…”
“But… the promise! What about our promise, Jurina?!”
“I love you, Rena-chan…”
I desperately reach for Jurina but I can only see her smiling face. The cute smiling face of her as if saying goodbye to me for the last time...
“No…. please, don’t! JURINAAA!!!”
Suddenly I felt a big black hole pull me back to the reality. I woke up with sweat all over my body and tears streaming down my face. I’m crying hard…….JURINA! Even though it is just a dream but I felt it was so real.
“J-Jurina…… Don’t leave me.” realising I love her so much that if she really did left me alone in this world. I will break down and cry so hard that there is no tomorrow.
Bzz. Bzz.Who is it. Calling at this time……. A Japan number…… I quickly wipe away my tears and answer the phone, I didn’t want to let the other line to hear my cracking voice.
“Hello?”
“Hello. Rena, Is that you?” This voice……
“Yuki?”
“Finally! Rena, you need to come back to Japan quick!”
“Why? What happe-” before I could finish my words
“Is J-Jurina. Jurina is in the hospital now. I’m afraid that she couldn-”
Before I listen finish her word I cut off the line and dial another number.
“Hello?” Another line pick up the call.
“Airin-san, Please help me to prepare the plane.”
“When do you want to go back?”
“NOW.”
“Okay. 10 Minutes later… I’ll pick you up from the house.”
“Okay.” I put down the phone and start packing my things.
Jurina…. Please be Okay….. I hope my dream doesn’t come true. It’s just a lie. Just…. a lie r-right…. Don’t leave me.
Few hour before, Inside the emergency room
“Doctor! The girl is not breathing anymore.” one of the nurse shouted in panic as they move the motionless body into emergency.
“Quick, prepare the defibrillator unit.” As the rest of the assistant preparing the defibrillator unit the doctor perform CPR on Jurina.
“Doctor, she is still not breath.” one of the nurse voice out.
“Doctor, the defibrillator unit is prepared. Here.” the doctor took the defib pads that was given by the nurse.
“CLEAR”
Outside the emergency roomYuki’s POVFinally…. She finally picked up her call. I been calling her since yesterday.
“Did she pick up?” Mayu asked
I nodded as a sign that Rena picked up her phone “But before I could finish my words, she hang up on me.”
“I just got a message from Airin that she is coming back.”
“I should have guessed.” I let out a bitter smile.
“Don’t worry, both of them going to be fine.”
“I hope so….. Just that both of them is just so sad. They been in love for so long and never get a chance to be together.”
“I know how you feel. I know Jurina since young, Just so sad to see her in this condition again. So let’s just pray that they will be safe and sound” mayu hold on to my hand as I could felt trembling from it.
Both of us and the girl call Ryohan was sitting outside of the emergency room praying that Jurina will be alright. Hoping nothing serious happen to her. Finally, after waited for few hours, the operation door opened with the doctor.
“Doctor. How’s Jurina?” Mayu hurried and rushed toward the doctor.
“She is now stable but….” I can see the doctor was hesitated to tell the condition of Jurina.
“BUT? BUT WHAT?” Mayu was losing her cool.
“Mayu…… Calm down.” I tried to calm her down but it seem that nothing that I said can reach her.
“That accident caused her a huge shock and now a part of her memory has lost…. and”
“A-and what?”
