Breaking News: A car accident happened in Shibuya district. 4 are badly injured including 2 females.
Minami's POV
I woke up in a small room painted with white. I tried to look around but i'm blinded by the white light. I tried to remeber what happened until someone approached me.
" minami, are you ok? can you hear me?" it's my mother's voice
" where am I ?" I asked with a confused voice
" you are at the hospital. You don't remember what happened?" my father asked
My memories came back when he said I'm at the hospital. I rememberr now that i met an accident.
" you've been unconscious for 2 weeks now" mother stated
" two weeks.. But where is Aachan?" I asked worriedly as I rememberr that she was with me when that accident happened
" Aachan is..." my mother didn't continue as the door opened
" Minami, are you ok?" I hear Aachan's voice
" yeah i'm fine, how about you?" I asked her while I saw her on a wheelchair
" I'm fine now, I'll be discharge next week" she said with a smile
" I'm glad it's not that serious" I responded "let's go somewhere else after i go out in the hospital. It's a celebration that both of us were saved" I added
" Alright, I'll wait for you and please have some rest coz you are still weak" she responded
I took some rest. She went to her room while my parents have a confused face. I can't ask them now coz my eyes are getting heavy and i fall asleep. Few weeks later I was discharged at the hospital and went to Okinawa with Aachan.
" wow it's so beautiful here" Aachan said with a bright smile
" but you are the most beautiful creature that God made" I said while blushing
" shut up minami, stop making fun of me" she giggled
" I'm not making fun of you" I stated.
Another wonderful day has passed and hoping that tomorrow will be a great one.
We spend our vacation with laughter, with so much fun. I can't anymore dare to ask God for another gift because Aachan is already enough for me.
" I'm sad that this is the last day of our vacation" Aachan said with a sad face
" Don't worry, there will always be a next time" i stated as I'm trying to cheer her up
" well for our last day we must enjoy and spend it to the fullest and tonight we must go to a hot spring to relax" she requested
" oh,alright, after all your wish is my command" I replied
* HOT SPRING*
As i was changing my clothes, I always end up touching my scar in my left chest. Trying to remember where i got this. This question is floating in my head since few weeks ago.
" Minami hurry up!" Aachan shouted
" alright I'm coming" I responded
I tried to hide my scar but it is so big to be hidden. I went straight to the hot spring where Aachan is waiting for me.
" Don't be shy about your scar. I know it already" she said with a big smile
" but how did you know?" i asked with curiosity
" uhmm, let's just say that, everybody has a scar that are visible and invisible but remember that every scar is already part of yourself no matter what. Be proud of it especially that scar in your left chest" she said with teary eyes
" your thoughts are deep Aachan" I answered
" Minami" she said softly
" hmmm?" i responded
" always remember this" she stated
" remember what?" I asked with interest
" that I LOVE YOU with all my heart" she whispered and kissed me in the lips.
The night got deeper and deeper and we decided to take some rest.
The next day we went back to our town. I went straight to our home with Aachan.
" We're back!" I shouted with joy
" minami, where have you been? We are damn worried about you" mom worriedly said
" but I told you that we are going to go to Okinawa" I answered
" WE?" she asked
" yes We. Aachan and I went to Okinawa" I replied
I saw my mom's eyes widened, shock of what i said
" wake up minami" she said " Aachan is gone" she added
I stared at my mother's face, surprised of what i heard. Then a tear falls down in my face.
" but how? She is with...." I said while looking back where Aachan is standing but she was not there anymore or she was really not there. I paused for a while to think
" you mean all this time I'm alone? That all of the people that stared at us when we were in Okinawa was just staring at me thinking I'm crazy? And also your confused face way back at the hospital?" I shouted with anger. I can't accept the news I heard.
" how? How did it all happened? I asked while sitting in the ground crying
" you saw your scar in your chest?" mom asked and I just nodded
" Aachan gave her heart to you. She saves you. She was injured badly in that accident. She was conscious for a short period of time only telling this phrase " give my heart to minami" like she knew that you need heart transplant, like she knew she don't have enough time to live" mom said while tears falls down on her face.
After the unbearable truth that I heard, I shut myself in my room. I don't want to go out, I don't want to live and I don't want to see the world until i fell asleep and dreamt. I was dreaming about the scene where Aachan told me about the scar while adding something, something that makes me realize that I'm still not alone.
" Minami, please stay alive, breath for me, see the wondeful world for me, live for me" and she vanished
I woke up with tears in my eyes. I decided to go to our favourite place. I leaved a message for her using the wind as the messenger.
" Wherever you are now, hope you are doing fine. Thank you for this second chance but still I want you to be here" i touch my heart as I continue my speech.
" This heart of yours which is pumping inside of me, I promise to take good care of it. As it pumps blood, I'll live and breathe. Even if you're not here, you are still living inside of me. This scar, I promise that I will never hide it anymore. I'll show this to the whole world as this is the symbol of our endless love and tell them that we lived inside this body of mine, TOGETHER AS ONE.

Mayuyu's POV
I'm Watanbe Mayu an otaku girl and also addicted to a game called Ragnarok. Playing Ragnarok makes me feel I'm in the real world and the real things make me feel that they are unreal. It's weird isn't it? But that is how i feel since i'm an outcast in our school. Going to school is a burden for me maybe because im tired of being an outcast, being weird on the eyes of my classmates and schoolmates but somehow,someway there is one particular girl who gives me strength and guts to show my face in the school. Her name is Yuki, Kashiwagi Yuki. Well we are not really close or to be exact she doesn't know me at all. I just wanted to see her face every day. I tried to speak with her but she is just really unreachable. They said she is the girl next door, she is famous, one of a kind. See? We are opposite, so how can i talk to her? We are in different levels, totally different.
"Yata! It's time to enter the real world" I said with a big smile on my face while opening my computer.
I click the Ragnarok in my desktop and type,my username and password. I used my high wizard character which is a male. I teleported to the place called glast heim to hunt some oridecon for money. While roaming around the area to search for a monster called Wanderer (the one that drops oridecon) i saw a female acolyte character lying on the ground where her Hp is 0. Luckily Wanderer drops Yggdrasil leaf (it can bring life to fallen characters or in short it can resurrect characters). I used it to resurrect her.
"oops. I didn't notice that my character died because i was answering my homework, but thanks for resurrecting me" the acolyte named Blackirin said
" oh it's nothing but what are you doing here? You are still an acolyte, you can't beat the monsters here" I replied
Blackirin: I'm still new in this game and my friend that introduced me to this game is not online.
Me: if you don't mind I can help you
Blackirin: really? Thank you so much Cyborg ( note: Cyborg is my character's name)
Me: no problem blackirin
I help her levelling up until she became a high priest.
Blackirin: thank you so much for hanging out with me here in Ragnarok every day and you also help me level up.
Me: no I'm the one who supposed to say that. Thank you, thank you because you make my world here livelier coz i don't really have friends in human world.
Blackirin: what? But you are nice. How come a nice person like you doesn't have any friends?
Me: maybe because I'm weird? How about you? How is your life after logging out of this MMORPG world.
Blackirin: I think you are not weird, you are just being yourself and i envy you for that. My life??? Uhmm it's fine.
Me: you envy me? Ohh this is the first time that someone envies me for being myself. Hahaha and i bet you have loads of friends.
Blackirin: yeah i have loads of friends, 90% are fakes and only 10% are real. I mean they are only few people who knows and accepts the real me while others just wanted to be friends because i'm famous in school.
Me: we are opposite, I'm an outcast and by the way I know you are not asking but I'm a girl ^_^
Blackirin: ehhhhhhhh? But why is your character a male?
Me: coz they say looks can be deceiving hahaha just kidding it's for fun only, so much for that, c'mon let's go and hunt some weapons and cards for us to use or sell.
Every day is like that. We have our conversation in that world which always lasted for2-3 hours before we both logged out. Sometimes we also go to other places, finding new monsters, hunting rare items which for me it's like a date. A unique date like protecting each other while we are in dangerous place, running together when the monster is too strong to handle, combining our skills which makes us stronger. It's like without her im not complete, that I'm so weak. We chose not to mention our life outside this Ragnarok world. Little did i know i already fell in love with her, the owner of the character. I know it's wrong, I know it's impossible and it makes me feel guilty for betraying Yuki-san, the girl that I love in human world. It's already 8 o'clock pm and it's time now to enter the Ragnarok world again. I saw her in our meeting place
Me: hi there, waiting for someone?
Blackirin: yeah, waiting for a character named Cybrog hehehe you?
Me: i'm searching for someone named Blackirin hahaha by the way why are you so early tonight?
Blackirin: I got bored and I wanted to see you. Neeh Cyborg, can we buy a wedding ring and get married in the church?
Me: ehh? Are you serious?
Blackirin: Yeah, what is the big deal? It's for fun only, well not really, I just want to marry you even though you are a girl in real world at least we can call ourselves couple even though it's only here.
ME: but why so sudden?
Blackirin: I know it's hard to believe but I think I'm falling in love with you. I know it's wrong because we are both females but this is how I feel. I never thought that I can find someone who would care for me this much in this Ragnarok MMORPG world.
Ehhhh? Confession in the world of MMORPG? I thought but I'm glad to read those words that makes my face turned red like a tomato
Me: I'm glad that you told me about how you feel for me coz I feel the same way too, but isn't it wrong for us? I mean we never saw each other's real faces. Our true identity is still hidden and me being an outcast and you being a famous.
Blackirin: I don't care if you are an outcast. If it is comes to love, everybody are equal. No outcast, no famous, no rich, no poor and about our identity, then why don't we meet? Face to face? But first let's get married. :)
Me: yeah you are right, and about the meeting, we'll discuss it later coz right now we must prepare for our wedding. Buy your wedding dress and I'll buy tuxedo and the wedding ring.
We bought the thing that we needed for the ceremony. We went to Prontera where the church is placed. I wear my tuxedo and she wears her wedding dress, it's so perfect. She looks so gorgeous. She walks in the isle slowly. It is like a real wedding. It's private, no other characters or our Ragnarok friends. The ceremony started and it's solemn. We waited for couple of minutes until
" I pronounce you husband and wife, you may now kiss the bride" the priest stated
Blackirin: /kis (gives a kissing icon)
Me: /kis
" Congratulations to the newly wed, Cyborg And Blackirin"
News appeared in upper part of my screen making the other players know that we are now a couple.
Blackirin: so where are we going to meet?
Me: hmmm. Do you know plankton cafe?
Blackirin: yeah i usually go there
Me: perfect! So let's meet tomorrow afternoon, 5 pm and wear a name tag with a blackirin on it so that we can easily identify each other.
Blackirin: sure, see you tomorrow and have a good night sleep /kis
Me: you too have a good night sleep /kis
We both logged out after we said our goodnight and put an emoticon kiss
" gomenasai yuki-san If i betrayed you, but you will always be my first love" i murmured while closing my eyes trying to fall asleep.
The next day after our class, I immediately went to the meeting place. It's 4:55 in my watch. I ordered mango shake while waiting for blackirin until someone opened the door.
My eyes widened as I saw Kashiwagi Yuki enter the cafe. I look at her and she is wearing a name tag and i read it
" Blackirin "

"blackirin"
I was shock to see Yuki-san wearing name tag "blackirin". Of all the people, of all the players of Ragnarok, I never thought that it would be her. I can't imagine that my first love and the girl that I currently love is the same person.
"b b b blackirin here" I said nervously while raising my hand to get her attention
"oh you are Cyborg?" she said as I saw her surprised face
"yeah, never thought that we are in the same school" I said
"me too, oh what a small world" she replied while taking her sit opposite to mine
We ordered a meal to eat. No one dares to start a conversation. We are both shy, now that we met each other face to face. Now that I'm facing to the unreachable girl next door in our school, then suddenly a group of people went to our table.
"yuki? What are you doing here?" a girl asked
"why are you eating with this otaku weird girl?" the other one said giggling
I look down in my lap trying to avoid their stares, hiding my embarass face but a warm hand approach and holds mine. I look up to Yuki and she just smile.
The group of people can't see it coz it was hidden under the small wooden table and we are sitting in the corner of the cafe too. She holds me tight making me feel that I'm safe and replied to the other girl's question.
"why? Is there anything wrong with that?" Yuki said
"yes there is of course hahaha, you are popular and that girl is an outcast. We already warned you not to talk or be close to her to prevent damaging your popularity or image" the girl stated
"I don't care about my image and you have no rights to say what is good and what is wrong for me or what i have to do. This is my life ok? And this girl, she is real, she is just being herself not like you guys, you are plastics, oh no, correction, you are rubber coz when you burn the plastic and rubber, rubber is the only one that is smelly" Yuki angrily responded
"WHAT??? Gosh you make my blood boil Yuki, and alright, fine, we don't care about you anymore" the girl said
"c'mon guys let's go and leave her chit chatting with her otaku weird friend" the other girl told her friends and headed straight to the cafe door.
"whew! That was a nerve breaking scene, but thanks to that I'm now out of my cage. I don't need to be cool or something anymore just to impress them or the people in school" she said while letting go of my hand
"uhmm, can I ask you something?" I talked to her
"yes you can" she said while sipping her chocolate shake
"what do they mean about 'we already warned you not to talk or to be close to her" I asked
"glad that you noticed and asked that, uhmm I know you already Mayu since the very first day that you stepped in that school. You are always alone, reading manga in the bench opposite to my classroom. I always look at you in our window. I envy you for being yourself but at that time my popularity rank goes up. I tried to speak with you or I wanted to be friends with you but fate doesn't let me do it coz there is always somebody who will interrupt when I had the chance and courage to say or walk near you. I saw you once wearing a Ragnarok bag. I knew that was a game because my friends, my real friends are playing that game. I asked them to give me a copy and also to teach me how to play it because I think that was the only way to communicate with you. I know that the chance is so small, but i have to gamble and one day I met,a character named Cyborg. She totally resembles you. I felt guilty about my feelings towards you coz I never thought that I will fall in love with that player in MMORPG world and decided to meet her. I was shock that I saw you here when i stepped inside the cafe but I was hoping, I'm hoping that you and Cyborg is the same person and guess what, you raised your hand and said 'blackirin here'. I was really happy to hear those words" Yuki said with a big smile on her blushing face.
I was surprised when she revealed everything to me. Surprised that she like/love me from the very beginning I stepped in that school.
"hey say something" she said worriedly
"oh sorry, I was just surprised, hmm I think I believe now in destiny" I stated
"why?" she asked with curiosity
"because I never thought that the girl that I admire the most in school which became my first love and the person I currently love is the same and yeah it's you" I said making my face turn red.
"ohh you are so cute, hahaha your face is so red, you love me that much huh? Hahaha" she said while pinching my cheeks
"ouch! Stop pinching my cheeks and stop teasing me, you are the first one who confessed" I replied and pinch her cheeks
"ohhh, how cute both of you and sorry for interrupting you, here is a free gift from our cafe coz we are celebrating our 5th anniversary" the waitress said
We look the free gifts and stare to each other wearing a shock big smiling face
"is this serious?" we said in unison as we saw the gift. A ragnarok tumbler with a picture of two characters wearing a wedding dress and tuxedo with an emoticon kiss on it.

Showbiz News: Maeda Atsuko's first ever solo concert will be held tomorrow in Tokyo Dome. Tickets were already sold out since last week. Atsuko is now few steps of becoming a superstar.
Atsuko's POV
Yes finally, I'm having my own concert tomorrow evening in the largest concert hall in Japan, the Tokyo Dome. Luckily the producers gave me 3 VIP tickets for my parents and for my special one if there is one who will be going to watch my concert. I can't think of a special one other than Minami. I immediatley call her to inform her that I have a VIP ticket and she can have it.
"hello? Minami are you there?" I asked while waiting for the respond of the other person on the phone.
"yeah, how is your practice? Are you ready for tomorrow?" Minami asked
"sort of but still I'm nervous. I don't know if they will love it or not" I said
"it's fine, think positive Aachan and by the way why did you call me?" Minami questioned
"well, uhmm are you free tomorrow? Coz i have an extra ticket here and I'm planning of giving this to you" I stated
"I want to watch you performing on stage but there is a problem. I have to go to Singapore tomorrow evening for a Special AKB48 cafe visit the day after tomorrow. Gomene Aachan, honto ni Gomensai" Minami apologized
"it's fine, I know it's your job coz you are our captain, it can't be help" I said so that she can't feel a guilt but deep inside I'm disappointed, I'm hurt. Why must it be in the same day of my concert? I thought
"thanks for understanding, Good luck for your concert tomorrow. Don't be nervous, I know you can do it" Minami said giving me strength
"I will do my best, good night Minami and have a safe trip tomorrow" I responded and turn my cell phone off.
"I cried and cried, feeling hurt because the person I wanted to see me performing on stage will not be there but I don't have a choice but to give the fans the best performance I could provide.

I can't relax, especially when I heard Aachan's voice yesterday on the phone. Somewhat she needed me, her voice was not normal, she was like holding her tears. It's her first concert and I want to be beside her. Arghhh, I'm bothered about Aachan's concert, is she doing fine? I must call Aki- P to inform him that I can't go to Singapore right now coz I have something very important thing to do.
"hello? Aki-P? Anno, I have something important business or thing to do right now. I promise to go there in Singapore tomorrow early since the event will start at lunch" I said to the person on the other line
"but" Aki-P didn't finish his words when I interrupted
"it will be fine, don't worry, I'll be there in Singapore before lunch, please this is so urgent and important, if I can't go, I may lose someone important to me"I said while begging Aki-P
"oh alright, I can't say no if it's really urgent but be sure to be here before lunch" Aki-P agreed coz he knows that he can't do anything about it.
I look at my watch, the concert was already started about 30 mins ago; I must be there before she can sing the 9th song. I went out to the airport and rode a taxi. I told the driver to drive as fast as he can to Tokyo Dome. i called Aachan's agency so that I can easily get inside to the backstage to surprise her and they agreed of what I told them.
Atsuko's POV
This is my 9th song for my concert. It's really not part of my album but I just really wanted to sing this. I dedicate this song to all the couples out there and to the people who are in love (but i really wanted to sing this song with Minami-i thought)

Yuki's POV
At first, I never know why I'm here in this world; the purpose of my existence or the reason why I am here until I met someone that is weird of the eyes of other people. I always stare at her in our classroom window, waiting for her smile but she never did it. She is like having her own world but I can see loneliness in her eyes. I always put my eyes on her, slowly falling in love. She is unique, she is pure, she is real but no one dare to see or feel for it. I tried to be closer to her but there's always somebody interrupted as I am about to walk near her. I tried to play Ragnarok, the game she is addicted with. I put all of my luck in that game, thinking that maybe we are destined to meet there and talk until I met a character named Cyborg. She resembles so much with Mayu. I fell in love with that player and decided to meet her. I never thought that Mayu and Cyborg are the same person but I'm so happy about it. It's been a month now since Mayu and I was official. Our relationship is a secret from everyone but we always talk in our school. We often eat lunch in Plankton Cafe, the place that we treasure, the place where destiny reserved for us to meet.
Nobody knows just why where here
Could it be fate or random circumstance?
At the right place at the right time

Until these past few days, Mayu acts so strange. She seems like hiding something from me and sometimes she is absent in her class too. She is also not online in Ragnarok, she is even not around in Plankton Cafe during lunchtime.
"argh, Mayu what is wrong with you? I'm damn worried about you and why are you not replying to my messages?" I thought while looking at my cellphone with no message. "I think i have to check you in your classroom"
I went to her classroom and saw her sitting on her sit while looking outside the window. I went inside but my-ex friends went near her so I stop and step backward so that they will not notice me.
"oi, weirdo, why are you still coming here in school? We already warned you not to come here anymore. We already threw your books away, we also vandalised your Ragnarok bag but still you have guts to show your face here" a girl with a long hair said while her hands is on Mayu's desk
"this is our last warning. If we ever see your face here again, we will do something bad to you and don't you ever dare to get closer again with Yuki if you don't want her to be hurt" the girl's comrade stated
"and one more thing, there is no purpose of your existence. Everyone will be happy if you'll die, no one needs you" the short hair girl added.
And if the universe conspired
To meld our lives to make us fuel and fire

I was shock hearing those harsh words, forming a fist in my hand and went straight where Mayu is sitting.
"Damn you! Don't ever say those words to her again and I'm warning you, don't you ever dare to lay a finger with her or else I will be your enemy" I shouted with anger.
"oh, the girl next door, the famous Yuki, what a good comrade you have here weirdo and Yuki, remember we already warned you about this like months ago" the girl said and whispered something to Mayu (remember what we told you earlier- the girl whispered) and walk away.
"Mayu, why you didn't told me something about this? That you were being...." I didn't finished my words as she hugged me while crying.
Her tears fall down on her cheeks which make my heart aches. I hugged her tightly to assure her that she is now safe but she broke the hug and said
"I just don't want to trouble you Yuki, I don't want them to hurt you too. I'm sorry but I have to go" Mayu said in a low voice and went out to the classroom while wiping her tears.
"hey Mayu" I said worriedly
"not now Yuki, it's the only way to protect you" she replied and walked away
I was hurt seeing Mayu being like that, hurt that I'm the reason why she had to go through all of this things. I know she needs me and I want to protect her too. I want her to feel that I'm here, that she can rely on me, that she can cry on my shoulders anytime she wants and that she is safe especially when I'm around. I went home thinking only about Mayu. I cover my eyes with a pillow trying to hold my tears from falling while whispering "what a cruel world we lived in"

I called Mayu and luckily she answered my call
"hello?Mayu I'm so sorry for not noticing it that you were being bullied by those ex-bitches friends of mine" I said feeling guilt
"no, sorry for not communicating with you for days now and not replying to your messages, it's the only way that they will not hurt you or stain your image in school. Gomene for making you worry Yuki" she responded
"it's fine now, but promise me you will never hide something from me anymore and don't think about my image. You are more important to me than that image. Please let me know if those bastards tried to hurt you again ok? And if you are sad and I'm not with you just remember the time that we met at the Plankton Cafe, the gift that they gave to us. The things that we did in amusement park, all of the memories that we have shared especially in Ragnarok world, just think about it" I replied
"I promise. Thank you Yuki, I love you so much and thanks for being there with me always" she said
"I love you too Mayu, I hate to see you crying"
Remember how we laugh until we cried

"I'm sorry about that and I won't leave you I promise. I was just bothered about it coz i'm too tired of the stares of people around us but thanks Yuki, you are really my strength, my knight and shining armour. Goodnight I have to sleep now. See you in my dreams.
"wait, please don't go to the school tomorrow until I found a solution about the bullying and also about what my ex-friend said to you, please don't ever think that you have no purpose here coz you have. All of us have. You changed my life you know? Without you I will never ever be free to my cage. i will never be true to myself. You made me realize what the real beauty is. It's not the face but the attitude. Without you I'll die. Please always put that in your heart and mind" I said what is written in my heart
"I surely will. You are the reason I chose to breathe, the reason I chose to be strong despite of all the challenges that I'm or we are facing right now and the reason that keeps wanting me to live.

I'm on my way to our school but I'm feeling nervous. I touched my chest and feel my heart beats faster than normal. I remember something, something that my ex friend said.

I run faster like a cheetah. Worrying that something bad might happen to Mayu. I went straight to her classroom but I didn't see her.
"uhmm, did you see Mayu?" I asked her classmate
"Mayu??? Ahhh lol, you are looking for that weirdo? Hahaha never thought she exist though" Mayu's classmate replied
"I'm serious here and don't you dare talk like that again" I said while giving him death glare
" oh s-s-sorry. I saw her on the way to the girls C.R with the girls that are always bullying her" he honestly replied
"thanks" I said as I run quickly to the girls C.R
"stop it!" I shouted while I saw a girl holding Mayu's uniform ready to punch her
"oh the girl next door" she said
I form my hands into fist as I saw Mayu sitting on the tiles with a blood on her mouth. Her hair is messy and her uniform is wet. I run towards the bullies and kicked their asses one by one. I put all my strength on every punch while repeating these words inside my head "it's my turn now to protect you Mayu, I will be your light and knight. I will always be there when you need me"

The girls run away with fear seeing my true identity with their own eyes. They didn't expect me to be that wild. I immediately went where my Mayu is sitting.
"MAYU! Are you ok? Please answer me" I asked worriedly
"Yuki" she whispered
"hooh!(giving a sigh of relief) Sorry I'm a bit late
"Yuki gomene, I know I made a promise not to come here today but It's the only way to see your face. I maybe a stubborn but I can't help it" she cried again which makes me feel hurt
"shhh, don't worry about it" I wiped her tears with my hands "this time I will be your protector" I said while looking her in the eyes

"What??? In the forehead? But my injury is near in my lips, that is not fair YUKI!" she said while pouting
"lol Mayu, you are lucky I gave you a kiss not death stare for breaking your promise" I told her while I poke her head.

"you are hot, come on let's go to my house and change your clothes and rest. I will just call your parents later telling them that you are going to sleep over in my house" I said while helping Mayu to stand up
We went to our house. She changes her clothes and rest.

"geez, I'm nursing a Cyborg" I thought while walking nearer where Mayu is resting and lay down beside her sharing the same blanket. I hugged her tight to make her feel my warmth and she replied with my hug. She makes my arm as her pillow. We are close enough to hear each other's heart beat.

yo yo yo wazzup? :cool1: i'm not yet done with the whole story but i decided to post the first chapter so that you can have a little information about the story. hope it will not disappoint you guys ^_^. :pig gtfo:
Chapter 1
“The Higher Ups issued a shoot to kill to this person” A man in a suit said to his team who are gathered in the middle of their department.
“but we don’t have much information about that man, we don’t even know what law did he break and Inspector Suzuki, that man is not connected to the case we are holding right now” A young girl objected to what she heard from her Boss.
“Kashiwagi-san, it’s from the Higher Ups and we can’t disobey them. And about the case, this man is sort of connected from the smugglers that we are currently investigating. It means that this man or this case is still connected to the case we are currently holding” The man in suit known as Inspector Suzuki replied to the girl who is in front of him.
“You should have shut your mouth beginner” A girl beside the girl named Kashiwagi who was irritated by sudden objection from the new comer said
“alright, alright girls please stop your staring battle as we need to finish our job, we still need to prepare for tonight’s mission” Inspector Suzuki clapped his hands for attention and immediately walked towards the white board with pictures and information that they gathered through their investigation.
After an hour of explaining and planning carefully for the mission, they instantly prepared their things. Others put their bullet proof suits, others grab their guns, others are checking their devices if it’s functioning.
“It’s time, Kashiwagi-san since you’re still new in this department; I have to partner you with Matsui-san” Inspector Suzuki ordered while putting his gun on the empty gun case on his right pants.
“What? Are you kidding? Inspector Su—“ the girl named Matsui didn’t finish her words as Inspector Suzuki interrupted her
“No objections Matsui Rena-san! Alright guys let’s go now to the place, be careful and comeback ALIVE” Inspector Suzuki grabbed his jacket and went out to the
department. The other police officers followed him and went inside to their cars that were parked outside the department leaving Kashiwagi and Matsui inside.
“I think I have no choice, by the way I haven’t properly introduced myself to you since we’re so busy these past 2 days, I’m Matsui Rena” Rena moved her hand forward to the girl’s direction waiting for a respond.
“I’m Kashiwagi Yuki, please take care of me and sorry about earlier” Yuki extended her hand for a hand shake and let a smile to her face.
“I bet you’re excited since this is your first mission after spending your youth years taking criminal justice course in a police academy” Rena said releasing her hand from the other girl’s hand
“Yeah, after all the trainings and methods that I learned from school, I’m happy that I can apply it all now into the real situations” Yuki enthusiastically said
“oh shit! We have to go now” Rena startled as she forgot that the others are already on their way to the place and only her and Yuki are left in the department and instantly went to her car that was parked outside.
“oh yeah, I forgot!” Yuki face palmed and quickly grabbed her jacket and followed Rena who is waiting outside

Yuki’s POV
I’m Kashiwagi Yuki, 22 years old. I’m a fresh graduate in a police academy who took criminal justice. We’re currently heading now with my partner, Rena, to an abandoned building located near the sea where a smuggling deal will be happening later. This is my first mission and I’m excited about it. I hope there’s no blood shed or killings that will happen tonight.
“ne Yuki, why did you took Criminal Justice?” Rena who is driving the car asked.
“uhm at first I really don’t like to become a police but because of that day, I changed my mind and pursue this career” I replied looking to the car window.
“that day?” Rena with confusion, once again asked to the girl who is sitting beside her.
“sorry I can’t tell you about it” I responded still focusing to the view outside.
“oh, alright. I guess every people have really a lot of reasons why they had choose the path that they are taking right now” Rena didn’t ask more question
Few minutes of driving they can now see clearly the abandoned building. Rena parked the car in unnoticeable place.
“Just stay by my side, don’t move if I didn’t tell you. Be on guard always, don’t let yourself be killed. Let’s come out later together, alive” Rena in a serious tone
said and grabbed her gun. “Let’s go” she added
The words she said to me made me feel nervous. The excitement I had earlier were gone and replaced by uneasy feelings and negative thoughts. I suddenly heard a knock on the window which made me snapped out from my deep thoughts. I saw Rena standing and looking around waiting for me to come out from the car.
“Yuki calm down, inhale, exhale!” I said to myself while inhaling and exhaling air to make me calm down a bit. After seconds, I stepped out from the car and grabbed my gun. I look around to check if there are some people who are suspicious and luckily there’s still none.
“It’s still 7:30, the dealing will take place at exactly 8:00pm. We still have time to prepare in our designated area” Rena walked straight to our designated place still looking around. I followed her while holding my gun tightly.
After minutes of waiting a lot black cars appeared in front of the abandoned building while we, police officers, are hiding in our places.
“Prepare now, the dealing will start at few minutes and wait for my go signal” Inspector Suzuki commanded through his handheld transceiver device and received a “Yes” from us, his team members.
“GO!”
Everyone that surrounds the abandoned building quickly ran and went inside the building. They men in black suits ready to exchange the smuggled guns and the money.
“FREEZE!” Inspector Suzuki shouted while pointing a gun to the men.
“Put your guns down!” Rena added and also pointing her gun to them. The men put their guns down and raised their hand after that. The other police officers pick up the guns and quickly arrest the criminals.
“Rena please do check the guns and drugs” Inspector Suzuki ordered.
“Yes sir!” Rena obeyed what her boss ordered and checked the guns. She also opened one bag of cocaine and took a little amount of it.
“It’s cocaine sir and also the guns are real” Rena said
“Alright men, get the evidence and put it in the car” Inspector Suzuki ordered us and we followed. After few minutes of picking up the evidences, I glanced to the door at the back and I saw a man in black.
“Another suspect is found!” I shouted and quickly ran to his direction.
“Follow her and support her!” Inspector Suzuki shouted and 4 of his members followed me including Rena.

In the back of the abandoned building
“Don’t move!” I shouted but he didn’t listen and continued running away.
“I said don’t move or I’ll shoot you” I ordered and he stop running. He faces towards me while raising his both hands. I’m shocked to see the guy. He’s the one on the picture that the Higher Ups ordered us to kill.
“Don’t misunderstand my actions Miss. I’m not bad as what you are thinking and I’m not even part of those smugglers” He said calmly.
“I’m sorry mister but there’s a shoot to kill order if ever that we found you” I replied to him still pointing my gun.
“Look, I’m an -----“He didn’t finish his words as Rena arrived in the place at my right side holding a gun. Watching Rena ready to fire her guns trigger the man to pull out his gun and shoot Rena.
“Watch ou----“
BANG!
A loud bang can be heard to the place. Watching my partner fall down from the shot made me mad and quickly pointed my gun again to the man and shoots him. After killing him, I went directly to Rena who is luckily, got only hit through her arms and it’s not that serious.
“I’ve managed to kill the man who has a shoot to kill order but we need an ambulance” I said through my handheld transceiver.
“are you injured?” Inspector Suzuki asked through his handheld transceiver
“NO, but Rena is injured but not that serious. Please send an ambulance as soon as possible before the injury will become fatal” I said. I took my handkerchief inside my pocket.
“the ambulance will becoming for few minutes. Please injure the pain a little bit” I said while tying my handkerchief around her bleeding arms.
“Thanks, you did well as a beginner and you can use my car tonight since I know I will end up in the hospital for days” Rena said while giving her car keys to me.
“Alright, don’t worry I will take good care of your car” I replied and took the car keys
After minutes of waiting, the ambulance came and sends Rena immediately to the hospital. I glanced to the dead person that I shot earlier thinking “what is he
supposed to tell me before he shots Rena?”
“Good work for today Kashiwagi-san you can go home now” Inspector Suzuki said with a smile knowing that our mission hits two birds with one stone and turned out successfully.
“Thanks Inspector” I bowed to him and immediately headed to where Rena’s car parked.
I visited Rena in the hospital to see if she’s alright and then went home after. It was a tiring day for me as a beginner in a police department where a lot of cases
are being handled. I’m also thinking of that person, of what he was trying to say. I felt guilt inside my heart. I know he’s wanted but what I didn’t know if I did the right thing. I sighed and closed my eyes making me fall asleep.

Chapter 02
The next morning I woke up early and prepared my breakfast. I was still thinking about the scene yesterday evening. That’s my very first time I killed a person.
“ahhh, stop thinking about it Yuki. This is the path you chose, so deal with it” I shake my head several times and let out a deep sigh. I watched the wall clock hanging in the wall.
“shit, I’m going to be late” I startled and quickly take my bag and jacket who are laying on the couch.
I open the door of Rena’s car and put the car keys on the designated place for it.
“lucky Rena lent me her car. I hope she’s fine in the hospital” I thought and start the car.
After minutes of driving I arrive in the police department.
“good morning” I greeted to my co-workers.
“good morning Yuki, did you take good care of my car?” a familiar voice asked and a familiar figure stood up from her desk.
“ehh?Rena? what are you doing here? You’re supposed to be at the hospital” I was surprised to see her after the incident last night.
“working? Hehehe by the way, my car key?” She said with a smile.
“but you have to rest. You’re injury is still fresh and here” I throw the car key towards her.
“you’re telling me to get rest coz my injury is still fresh but you threw the car key making my injured arm moved” Rena complained holding the key that she caught few seconds ago.
“ooppsie sorry” I smiled nervously
“I will forgive you if you treat me a spicy ramen in my favourite restaurant” Rena grinned widely
“alright alright but not now, we have a lot of cases to be handled and we still have to do a report for the mission yesterday” I sighed with a defeat and walk straight to my empty desk.
“I will wait for that” Rena smiled and returned to her desk and continued her job.
“uhmm excuse me?” A delivery boy entered the department.
“yes how can we help you?” Rena asked
“is there a person here named Kashiwagi Yuki?” the delivery boy asked again
“it’s me, what do you want from me?” I asked while standing up from my sit.
“A car delivery from Mr. Inoue Hiroki, please sign this paper” The boy said while giving me the paper.
“alright” I said and signed the paper. After signing it, he gave me the car key and bowed at me before he left the department.
“Mr. Inoue Hiroki? You mean the Defence Secretary Inoue Hiroki?” Rena asked with a surprised look. I didn’t tell her about my family background.
“yeah, he’s my uncle” I replied and put the car key to my purse and sat down to my seat. “I told him not to give me anything but he insisted to give me a car as a graduation gift. He’s the only family I have that’s why I can’t say no” I added
“wait, you mean that you are ---“ I didn’t let Rena finish her words since I know where this conversation will go.
“yeah and I don’t want to talk about it. Let’s just concentrate to our work” I said while staring and tapping the keypad of my laptop doing my report.
Hours passed by so quickly that I never thought it’s already 8:30 pm. I sighed in relief because somehow I managed to finish my report and can submit it to Inspector for review tomorrow.
“I can go home now” I whispered while stretching my body to waken up my sleeping muscles. I stand up and arrange my messy table and put the important files into my bag. After arranging it I took my bag and my jacket.
“otsukaresamadesu” I bowed to the people who are still working and quickly walked towards the door.
“ahh, it’s still raining cats and dogs” I sighed and ran towards my car while using my bag as an umbrella. I opened the door and get inside as soon as I can.
“my bag didn’t help that much but luckily I have a car, what a perfect timing uncle” I thought and start the car’s engine. I turn the music on while driving. Its 20 minutes driving from the police department to my house. I was about to turn to the left when suddenly a girl crossed the street making me step the break immediately.
“what is this girl doing? Does she want to commit suicide?” I muttered while releasing a deep sigh. I can see her face because of the headlight. She seems afraid of something. She’s also trembling from the cold rain. Did something happen to her? I thought while staring at her. When I was about to press the car horn, the girl in front of me collapsed. Without hesitation, I hurriedly opened the car window and went to her.
“oi wake up, Miss, wake up!” I said while tapping her cheeks several times but I don’t get any response. The rain is getting heavier and I’m soaking wet. I decided to carry her at my back and let her lay down at the backseat of my car.
“what to do what to do?” I slightly panicked while driving my car to my home thinking what I have to do with the unconscious girl.
After arriving at my home, I carried again the girl and lay her down at my bed. I changed her wet clothes with my old clothes and checked her temperature using thermometer.
“this is not good, she has a high fever. I have to call Sae” I grabbed my bag and searched for my phone.
“hello Yuki, what’s the matter?” Sae asked after answering my phone call
“where are you right now? Are you on duty?” I asked
“no, I’m at my home right now. Why?” She replied
“ I need your help coz there’s a girl that collapsed and I don’t know what to do so I brought her in my house. I’ll explain to you the details later. Please do come here as soon as possible and don’t let anyone know about this” I said while looking at the unconscious girl with high fever.
“alright alright, I’ll be there in 10 minutes” Sae replied and hang up.
While waiting for Sae I decided to take a quick shower and change my
clothes. After changing my clothes, I check again the girl’s temperature but still there are no changes.
“what happened to you?” I said softly while moving her bangs to see her face.
“cute” a word that suddenly slipped out from my tongue before I heard a knock on the door.
“I’m coming!” I shouted and walked straight to the door.
“thank God you’re here Sae” I said with a relief after opening the door revealing the person I’m waiting.
“what happened?” she asked and stepped inside to my house.
“on my way home, I almost hit a person who suddenly crossed the road. She was trembling and after few seconds she collapsed. I didn’t know what to do at that time so I brought her here in my house and then I called you for help” I explained while heading to my room.
“alright” Sae responded and hurriedly checked the girls condition.
I watched her checking the girl’s condition with her stethoscope. She also checked if the girl had some injuries on her body. After few minutes she walked towards me.
“she’s fine, she just need some rest. Let’s just monitor her temperature” Sae said
“ohh thank you Sae” I said “do you want coffee or tea?” I asked knowing that the rain hasn’t stop and the temperature is cold.
“tea” she said
“alright, be right back” I walked towards the kitchen and made a tea for Sae and coffee for myself. Few minutes later I head Sae shouted my name. I immediately ran to the room and asked what happen.
“this is troublesome” she said
“why?” I asked nervously
“that girl, she seems forgot where she lives, who her parents are and etc. She only knew her name” Sae stared to the girl who is now widely awake.
“where am i? and who are you?” she asked with confusion. It must be hard for her to know only her name.
“you’re in my house. I saw you collapsed in the road so I brought you home. I’m Kashiwagi Yuki and this is Dr. Miyazawa Sae. Don’t be afraid we are not bad and we are not going to harm you” I said calmly while walking to her. “what’s your name?” I asked
“Mayu, Watanabe Mayu” she said while looking to her necklace.
“you really don’t know what happened to you before you collapsed? Or who your parents are and where you lived?” I asked again like a police officer interrogating a criminal
“ahhh,my head hurts” She said in pain while holding her head.
“calm down, calm down. Don’t think about it too much. You have to rest” Sae said while making her calm down and let her sleep again. Sae looked at me with angry eyes making me stepped aback and walked out from the room. I sat down on the couch in the living room waiting for Sae to come out from my room.
“she’s now sleeping and Aahh yuki what have you done? And you’re questioning her straightaway like that?” Sae with dismay looked say.
“sorry” is all I can say.
“you really didn’t hit her?” She asked
“NO, OF COURSE NOT, if I did hit hear I’ll bring her in the hospital instead and besides you didn’t see any injury on her body” I blurted
“alright, calm down. So maybe she had a traumatic experience before you met here that made her lost her memories” Sae sat down beside me while thinking what made the girl lost her memories “what’s her name again?” she added
“Mayu, Watanbe Mayu” I said.

MaYuki! *does a happy dance :pen_whirl:* At first I thought this story was going to be RenaYuki (which seems to be gaining popularity now) but I'm glad it's actually MaYuki!
Anyway, Yuki, good job! :thumbsup Taking Mayu home from the streets is the best decision she's made. Now Mayu will probably have to stay with Yuki for the time being as she's forgotten almost everything about herself. Looking forward to your next update!

Chapter 03 A
The night got darker and the heavy rain has stopped from pouring. I accompanied Sae on the way to the front door.
“I have to go now Yuki. I still have duty tomorrow. Just call me if you need my help or if there’s any update of that girl’s condition” Sae bid goodbye and walked towards her car and left. I went back inside and found out that it’s already late and I have to get some sleep. I headed to my room and watch the girl who is sleeping peacefully.
“good night Mayu. Have a nice dream” I whispered and turned the lights off. I went out from the room and made my way to the next room which is owned by my best friend. She’s on vacation right now with her one and only that’s why it’s free for me to use it. I quickly jumped to the bed and rested my tired back.
“ahhh it’s so comfortable” I said while getting a pillow and hugged it tight. I pulled up the duvet to cover my cold body and closed my eyes.
“good night Yuki” I whispered to myself and then travelled to the place called dreamland.

“NO,STOP IT,PLEASE STOP IT, NO NO NOOOOOO!” a shout wakes me up like an alarm clock early in the morning. I hurriedly run to where the voice comes from. I opened the door and saw Mayu sitting on the bed, crying. I hug her tightly to comfort her from her nightmare.
“it’s fine now. I’m here” I said while brushing her back up and down with my hands.
“I *sniff* had a *sniff* nightmare. It’s so scary” she said with a broken voice, still crying.
“shhh. It’s fine now. It’s just a dream. Uhmmm what about we’ll go to an amusement park? What do you think?” I asked. I want her to forget her bad dreams, her fears. I don’t want to see her crying. I know it’s strange coz I only met her last night but this feeling in my heart is trying to tell me that somehow I have a responsibility to this little girl beside me.
“I want to go there but you have work, right?”she said while wiping her tears.
“ohh damn she’s right. I have work today” I thought but I don’t want to leave her, not now.
“it’s fine. I’ll just tell them I have some important things to do” I replied to her with a smile.
“un” she nodded and for a mere seconds her sad and afraid face becomes refreshing and a upward curve appeared on her face. It’s my very first time to see her smile and it’s warm.
“go and take a shower first. I’ll call my boss and tell him that I can’t come in for work today and after that I will prepare the breakfast” I said and received a nod from her. I get up from the bed and get the phone in my best friend’s room and dialled the police department’s number.
“hello? Inspector Suzuki, something came up and I can’t go to work today. Can I take an off today?” I asked to the person on the other line.
“alright Yuki. Can you just drop by your report here in the police department and after that you can go. Is that ok?” he asked
“yeah, sure Inspector. Thanks” I replied then hang up. I went to the kitchen and cooked something for us to eat.
“Mayu-chan, breakfast is ready” I shouted for the girl to hear. After seconds I can hear footsteps and I surely know the owner of those steps.
“neh, Kashiwagi-san, why did you let me stay in here and take care of me? I’m a stranger you know” She asked and sat down on the chair near the table.
“hmm. I don’t know but seeing you last night makes me feel that I’m kinda responsible to you. I almost hit you with my car too y’know and yes you’re a stranger but I know you’re not harmful.” I said while putting plates on the table.
“you still don’t know me at all” she said while looking at me.
“why?do you know yourself now? I mean you lost some of your memories right?” I said while sitting opposite to her.
“yeah, you’re right” She replied looking down. She’s sad once again and I can’t stand it.
“don’t worry, I’ll help you remember your past” I comforted her and gives her my best smile “let’s eat now, we still have lots of things to do”
“thank you, Kashiwagi-san”
“just Yuki, call me Yuki”
“un, Yuki”
I like how she pronounced my name, like there’s another tune on it. We ate our breakfast and went to the police department.
“just wait here ok? I just need to submit my report and after this we’ll go straight to the amusement park” I said holding my report. I turned on the music for her not to be bored. I get off from the car and left her sitting there enjoying the rock music.
“so cute” I whispered with a wide smile on my face while looking at the girl inside my car, playing an air guitar while singing.
“good morning” I greeted the people in the department.
“good morning Kashiwagi-san, did you bring your report?” Inspector Suzuki asked
“ahh yeah, here” I replied while giving the documents that I’m holding.
“thanks, have a good day then” He replied and went back to his office. I looked around to see if Rena’s around and luckily she is, sitting on her desk while drinking a hot coffee.
“hey Rena, can you do me a favour?” I sat down next to her.
“hmm what is it?” she replied while opening her bag to get a melon pan.
“can you look up if there’s any girl named Watanabe Mayu?” I whispered to her so that no one can hear what I said.
“why?” she asked with a confused look
“I’ll tell you the details when I get back. I’ll be counting on you Rena-san” I get up and walked to the door.
“OI WHAT IF I REFUSE?”
“Then I won’t treat you spicy ramen to your favourite restaurant”
“ehhhhh?blackmailing? alright alright I’ll do it but you owe me twice”
“alright, just call me if you got any information about that person. Ja ne~” I opened the door and walked out. I saw her still having a concert inside my car.
“HOW DO WE GET HERE, WHEN I USED TO KNOW YOU SO WELL~~~”
“ehem, you seems like you’re having a good time” I said as I opened the door letting out a small laugh.
“I like this song” she smilingly said
“it’s decode by Paramore. My best friend who is on vacation likes that song too. It’s the OST of her favourite movie” I informed her and started the car’s engine.
“who is she? And vacation? where?” she asked still playing her air guitar.
“I called her Aachan. She’s in UK right now with Takamina but they will be coming back week after next.
“wow. Are there lots of castles there? I love castles” She looked outside the window, day dreaming.
I smiled at the childish girl besides me.
“we’re he---“ I was cut off by a sudden shout that comes from her.
“WAAA! AMUSEMENT PARK!” She quickly got off from the car and running like a child. I face palmed watching her reaction and followed her.
“YUKI! C’mon let’s ride all of the rides that this amuseme----- WAAA, ice cream ice cream. Can I have ice cream?” I laughed at the girl in front of me, a cute and childish girl.
“alright” I sighed but watching her smiling and enjoying this moment, I just couldn’t ask for more. I bought an ice cream and handed to her. After few minutes of eating, we go and ride the roller coaster.
“are you sure you want to ride this Mayu?” I asked while hiding my fears.
“yeah, it’s fun. Why? Are you afraid Yuki?” She asked while handing the ticket to the person that’s responsible to the ride.
“of co-course i-I’m not” I stuttered
“ohh a police officer named Kashiwagi Yuki is afraid of riding rollercoaster” she teasingly said
“sh-shut up, I’m not afraid of it” I said trying to be brave and immediately sat down to the available sit and fastened my seatbelt then pulled down the shoulder harness. She followed me and sat down next to me.
After few seconds the engine of the roller coaster started and it’s slowly moving. I hold tightly to my shoulder harness and stared at the girl beside me who seems not scared to this ride.
“a a a AHHHHHHHH”
“weeeeeeeee this is FUN!”
“NO IT’S NOT, IT’S CRAZY” I shouted when the roller coaster arrived at the first drop after the lift hill and followed by a double loop then double dip. It takes few minutes before the ride ended and it made me dizzy.
“that was bloody hell” I said while trying to vomit in the corner.
“Are you alright?” Mayu asked
“Do I look alright?” I replied
“Hahaha, if you just saw your face Yuki, you will definitely laugh at yourself” She put her hands on her mouth trying to prevent her laugh.
“shut up” I said, embarrassed.
“let’s go grab some food, I’m hungry” she said while grabbing my hand and made her way to a near restaurant inside the amusement park.
We sat down in the right corner of the restaurant and looked at the menu.
“what do you want?” I asked her still looking at the menu.
“uhmm spaghetti, mango shake and for dessert, chocolate velvet cake” she said putting the menu on the table.
“Waiter” I said raising my right hand to get the attention of the waiter. He quickly walked towards our direction and asked what our order is.
“2 spaghetti, 2 mango shakes and 2 chocolate velvet cake please” I said politely.
“please wait for your order ma’am” he bowed at us and went to get our order.
“I have to use the c.r” I said to Mayu and walked to where the C.R is located.
After washing my hands, I went out and saw Mayu talking to a girl around her age but before I arrived at our table the girl bid goodbye and left.
“who is she?” I asked as I know Mayu don’t know anyone except herself and me since she lost some of her memories.
“I don’t know, she was just asking if I saw a little boy roaming around the restaurant. Maybe it’s her little brother and got lost” she said
“oh I see” I replied while staring at her who looks down and who seems distracted about something.
“Here’s your order ma’am, enjoy your meals” the waiter said and put down the food that we ordered. I said thank you and he left. Before I could enjoy my meal, I heard Mayu shouts.
“ahhh, my head, it hurts” she said putting her hands at her head.
“hey, are you ok?” I stand up and sat down beside her.
“drink this” I handed her a glass of water “are you alright? Did you remember anything?” I asked
“no-nothing, I just remembered the dream I had earlier” she replied
“are you sure?” I asked worriedly
“yeah, sorry for making you worried” She said while looking at the front door of the restaurant and murmured something “----------------“
“did you say something?” I asked
“oh nothing, I said let’s eat” She replied and start digging her meal
After eating and resting, we continue riding the rides that the amusement park offers.
“time passes so fast when people are having fun” She said while eating the cotton candy that I bought
“yeah and its already 5 in the afternoon” I replied and get some of the cotton candy
“hey this cotton candy is mine!” she complained
“ehhh?but I’m the one who bought it” I pouted
“yeah you bought it and you gave it to me so meaning it’s already mine” She replied while sticking her tongue out
“but but but it’s fine if I’ll get some right?” I asked
“of course (smiles) NOT! Hahaha” She replied and laughed
“you! You’re so mean!” I pouted while crossing my arms.
“it’s only a joke, here you can eat it all” She said with a smile while giving the cotton candy to me
“hmp I don’t want it anymore” I said coldly, pretending to be mad
“ahhh look it’s Superman!” Mayu shouted while pointing her finger towards the sky
“Wh----“ I tried to ask but Mayu quickly puts cotton candy on my mouth
“hehehe gotcha! It’s tasty right?” She said teasingly and quickly run where my car parked
“this little girl! And why did I fall for that childish prank?” I thought and followed her “but it’s really tasty”
“now where are we going?” she asked while putting her seatbelt
“hmm you need clothes” I said and started the engine. We headed to the shopping mall to buy her clothes.
“this one is good, this one too, this one is ok, and this one too” I said while picking the clothes and stretch it to Mayu who is walking beside me
“Yuki it’s enough already” She said. I turned around and saw her having a hard time holding a pile of clothes that I stretched to her earlier.
“opps sorry” I said “uhm excuse me, we will take all of this” I added and pull out my credit card from my purse.
“next will be uhmm yeah! Lingerie” I said and headed to one of the store in the mall who sells lingerie.
“this one mayu? Or this one?” I asked while showing her the lingerie.
“wait yuki! Let me choose my own lingerie!” Mayu who looks embarrassed complained
“ok ok” I sighed and returned the lingerie to where it was placed
“Ahh! This one, and this one too AHH!and this too” She said
“ehh?K-on? Pikachu? doraemon?” I face palmed as I saw the designs that she chooses and most of it have an anime characters printed on it.
“alright alright, we’ll take it” I sighed get my credit card again “as long as your happy” I thought
“thank you very much Yuki” She said and hugged me
I froze at the time she hugged me “what is this?” I thought but then decided to hug her back. I tried to hide my blushing face but I failed.
The shopping took 2 hours and it’s already 7pm. We decided to eat in a restaurant and after that we headed to the car and went home.
*in the car*
I smiled remembering the fun I had today. I looked at the girl beside me who is now sleeping like a baby but a sudden phone call startled me. I immediately put
Bluetooth headset and turned it on.
“hello Rena? Did you find anything?” I asked to the person from the other line
“Yes but it’s a little bit strange” Rena replied
“Strange, why?” I asked
“Watanabe Mayu, 17 years old, Birthday: March 26, 1994, the strange thing is that the parents’ name that were listed on her birth certificate are not her real parents
“not her real parents? What does that supposed to mean?” I replied while looking to Mayu
“I managed to contact the person on this list that I have and went to where she lives and asked about Watanabe Mayu” She sighed
“then?what did you get?” I asked still driving the car
“Mayu was abandoned by her parents at the time she was born in this world. Her parents left her in the front door of the orphanage which is own by the person who listed her name as Mayu’s parent. Mayu left the orphanage a year ago to find her real parents even though she doesn’t have any clue about them. The orphanage can’t take care Mayu again because right now they are having some troubles about money and they already had enough orphan living in the place so she ask me to tell you that please take care of Mayu” Rena said in details
“give me the copy of the information tomorrow at work, thanks Rena” I said and hang up. “She’s living alone, it must be lonely, No! It’s really lonely” I thought.
I stopped the car in front of my apartment.
“Mayu wake up where here” I said to the girl sleeping in the car but I got no respond from her.
“I guess I have no choice” I went out from my car and walked towards Mayu’s side and opened the door. I pulled her out and gave her a piggy back.
“rollercoaster, te-hee” She said still sleeping
“sleep talker” I let out a small laugh. I opened the door and went to my room. I put her carefully on the bed.
“sleep well” I said and kissed her forehead but before I had the chance to leave a small hand holds my hand.
“don’t leave me, I’m afraid, I don’t want to be alone” Mayu muttered still sleeping
“alright alright” I hold her hands and lay down beside her. I looked at her and stared at her for a while.
“from now on I’ll take good care of you coz I know the feeling of loneliness” I whispered while moving her bangs away from her eyes.
“good night Mayu-chan” I smiled and closed my eyes.

“so someone came there and asked about her huh?” the person on the phone calmly said
“yeah, it’s a police officer named Matsui Rena” the other person replied
“Matsui Rena” the person said “so what did you say to her?” added by mysterious person
“I obeyed and said the script that you’ve given me 5 days ago if ever there will be a person who will be searching for her” the other person said
“thanks for the cooperation, I’ll send the money that I promised. Hope that the orphanage will not be in trouble about money again” the person said and hung up

The next day I woke up alone in my room. I quickly get up and put my slippers on to find the person who was sleeping beside me last night. Thoughts run inside my mind like what if she left already? What if I can’t see her anymore? A Lot of ‘What If’.
“good morning Yuki-san” she greeted me with a warm smile.
“there you are!” I sighed with relief. Somewhat, I feel that I’m afraid to lose her and I don’t know why.
“why? Are you alright? You look scared” she asked while putting the plate with scramble egg on the table.
“ohh no, nothing, don’t mind me hehe” I smiled nervously “oh you cooked breakfast?” I asked
“yeah, it’s the least I can do. Come and grab a seat and eat your breakfast. You still have a work y’know” she said while pulling one of the seats in the table.
I walked towards the seat that she offered and sat down. We both eat our breakfast and had a tiny chat with each other.
“oh I have to go now Mayu-chan. Feel free to do whatever you want in this house just don’t destroy it ok? And btw I wrote down my cell number near the telephone. Just call me if you need something, ok?” I said while walking to the front door.
“don’t worry I will take good care of your house and here, take this obento” she said while giving me the obento she made.
“for me??? T-thank you Mayu-chan” I stuttered a wee bit as I was surprised but thankful to the little thing she made for me. I bid goodbye and walk towards my car.
“take care Yuki-san” she shouted while looking at me, sending me off.
“I will!” I shouted back and get inside the car and I drove immediately to the police station.
“good morning” I greeted the people enthusiastically as I entered our department and quickly went to my desk.
“ehem, you look so happy today” Rena said
“ah!rena you startled me!” I face to the girl who is now sitting next beside me
“aish! Coz you’re spacing out. What happened to you? Hmm maybe something special happened yesterday” Rena said with a thinking pose while keep nodding.
“shut up! There’s nothing special happened yesterday and btw the document?” I said opening my hand.
“ohhh really? And yeah here’s the document that you asked from me yesterday. Now I already called the restaurant and reserved a table for 2. You can’t run away anymore from your treat Kashiwagi Yuki since I used your name in reserving the table” Rena smirked while handing me the document.
“alright alrigh you win” I said, defeated.
“thank you~~~” she said with a weird tone and headed to her desk.
“so her birthday was just few weeks ago, I wonder how she spent it” I sighed while I continue reading the document until an idea pop out in my mind.
“I think it’s better late than never” I said to no one in particular. I waited for hours for the lunch time but time is ticking so slowly and the papers and documents that I have to do are already done. There were also no accident or crime that took place in or precinct.
“lunch break!” a shout from our boss echoed in our department and just mere second Rena is already standing near beside me, smiling widely.
“let’s go?” I asked her teasingly and received a numerous nods from her.

*at the restaurant*
“here’s your order ma’am, enjoy your meal” the waiter said placing the food that Rena ordered and after that walks to other table to take the order of other
costumers.
“why did you not order some food Yuki?” Rena asked
“coz I have my obento” I answered with a smile
“you’ll regret it, food here is great” Rena boasted
“naah it’s fine my obento is the best after all” I smirked
“whatever, itadakimasu” Rena said happily and quickly eat her food.
“neh, Rena can I ask you something?” I asked while eating my food.
“go ahead” she answered without looking at me.
“do you know how to organize a surprise party?”
“hmmm a surprise birthday party for mayu?”
“yes-yes, ehhhhh! How did you know?”
“well I’m the one who gathered the document remember and well it's better late than never after all right?”
“ahh yeah”
“I’ll help you about the party IF!”
“IF?”
“if you’ll answer my question honestly”
“w-what question?”
“do you like that girl?”
“like that girl? You mean Mayu?”
“yeah, well it’s kinda obvious though but I just want to confirm it”
“obvious?”
“obvious that you like that girl and you’ll do anything to make her happy”
“I like her? Now way, it’s impossible”
“no, it is possible, see you are so happy that she made you an obento, you didn’t even order anything from this restaurant”
“coz It’ll be a waste if I didn’t eat it. And also I’m a girl and she’s a girl, so it’s impossible”
“then let me ask you this, why do people only have one heart?” she asked pausing the thing she currently doing.
“I don’t know, because it’s how the composition of our body should be?” I answered back with a questioned look.
“hmm think like this, Maybe we have to find its perfect match where its heartbeat will synchronize perfectly to the other one. Our emotions and our hearts don’t have eyes to see but a feeling if that person is the right one or not even if it’s a boy or a girl. Liking someone is not bad as you think as long as you don’t hurt others. Well I’m not saying that you love her though I’m just saying that you like her and liking a person has different types and you’re the only one who will know and feel which type of like that your feelings fall off” Rena stated seriously, looking at me.
“somehow that makes sense, maybe I like her but I don’t know in which type of liking this feeling of mine will fall off” I said quietly while looking down at my food.
“HAHA you’re thinking about it seriously and besides you’ll find the answer one of these days” Rena laughed for the matter that we are talking about right now.
“but this is a serious case” I pouted
“I know, but supposed to be we are planning about the surprise birthday party for Mayu not about your feelings for her” Rena stated but a sudden AH! can be heard from her.
“What?” I asked confusingly
“if it’s a birthday party then Mayu will get suspicious on how you know her birthday and she’ll ask you about her family, her parents and all” Rena said. She’s right, if she’ll know about her parents surely she will be sad and the surprise party will turned out unsuccessful.
“then what should we do? She still has no idea about her parents and I wanted to tell her about it few days after the surprise party” I said asking for a solution to a new problem.
“then we’ll just make it a party from her recovery and a welcoming party also?”
“that’s a good idea, ok let’s go with it”
“can I bring someone?” Rena asked shyly.
“sure you can bring your boyfriend” I said with a grin
“I don’t have a boyfriend. I’m bringing a g-girl” she said while looking down, feeling embarrassed.
“ohhh a girlfriend then, tsk tsk that’s why you are so expert on giving me some advices about my feelings toward Mayu. Coz we are riding in the same bout” I teasingly said feeling relieved that I’m not the only one who has this feelings.
“I guess so, so when will be the party?”
“Saturday evening, but Rena-chan don’t change the topic first, I sooo sooo wanted to know who captured Rena’s heart” I said excitedly while clasping my hands waiting patiently for an answer.
“it’s uhmmm it’s”
“ahh it’s Mayu!” I cut Rena’s moment of speech as I saw Mayu coming out from starbucks just near the restaurant we are currently having a lunch at. I can see her clearly as our table is located near the window.
“no it’s not Mayu!” Rena said not getting what I meant.
“it’s Mayu!” I said while pointing the girl outside the restaurant.
“ohh I thought it’s about the girl that I like” Rena sighed and look at the girl I’m currently pointing at “she seems angry, does something happened to her again?” she added
“I don’t know, I’m going to ask her” as I’m about to get up to my seat my phone suddenly vibrated and I picked it up still my eyes glued to the girl outside.
“hello inspector Suzuki? Yes we are still in the restaurant. A snatcher? Oh that place is near in the restaurant, all right we’ll respond about it quickly” I said to the person on the other line and hang up.
“what was it about?” Rena asked
“a crime took place just a minute ago, the criminal or a snatcher is escaping and running towards in this area near the restaurant, he is on his mid-twenties wearing a black jacket and a cap. He’s holding a red bag that he snatched earlier. We have to catch him no matter what” I said while putting money on the table as a payment to the food and quickly went out from the restaurant.
“where is Mayu?” I thought as I couldn’t see her and feel her presence anymore. “hope she’s fine” I muttered and started running to find the criminal.
Few minutes of running and turning from one corner to another, a dark messy corner got our attention. We get out our pistol inside our jacket and I waited for a ‘GO’ signal from Rena. Rena moved her hand back and forth as a signal for us to intrude the corner. Our eyes widened as we saw the criminal with the red bag on his right hand that he snatched earlier lying in this dark and messy corner. We slowly approached him still holding our pistols towards his direction.
“he’s unconscious” Rena stated and kneeled down putting her pistol back to her jacket. She put her fingers on man’s neck trying to get his pulse.
“he is still alive, call an ambulance and also call inspector Suzuki” she ordered and I nodded and started calling for an ambulance.
“A man from his mid- twenties is unconscious, fully beaten up by someone. A cut on his head is still bleeding from a hard hit of a metal tube blah blah blah” I said to the person on the other line for them to know the current condition of the man and after that called the police department about what happen.
“the man’s condition is now stable. Lucky that both of you saw him minutes after the accident took place because if it took the both of you to find him any longer we don’t know what might happened to him” inspector Suzuki said while closing the door behind him.
“the metal tube that we found as an evidence is no use as no finger prints had found” I reported to him.
“we also asked some people near the area if they saw the accident but unfortunately no one saw it as there’s not a lot of people who passed by in that area” Rena also reported the information she got.
“we can’t say it as a case since the victim the snatcher but still we need to find that person who did it to him. Why did he do that? Why did he beaten up that guy if he can just turned him in the police department” Inspector Suzuki asked with no one in particular as he was thinking about the motive of that person.
“you can go home now, it’s already a little bit late. Thanks for the hard work” Inspector Suzuki said and we both bowed to him.

*Yuki’s house*
“I’m home” I said while taking off my shoes and put it nicely in the shoe rack.
“ohh welcome home, dinner is ready” Mayu shouted from the kitchen.
I walked to the dining area just beside the kitchen and sat down on the chair, rested my tired back for a while then eat my dinner.
“hey what happened to your hands?” I asked as I saw Mayu’s hand with bandage.
“nah it’s nothing. I was washing clothes earlier using my hands since the washing machine is not functioning” Mayu answered back while eating.
“are you alright? Did you put medicines to your wounds?” I quite panicked while asking her.
“I’m fine, I’m fine don’t worry and yeah I already applied some medicines to the wound” She replied smilingly.
“ohh sorry about the machine it’s quite old already. I’m going to order a new one so don’t worry and thanks for cleaning the house and for doing the laundry too” I said while looking at my clean house.
“by the way Mayu what are you doing in starbucks?” I asked as I’m curious why she was there.
“ahhh you saw me? I was trying to apply for a job but then they said I need experience on doing coffee. I’m kinda pissed off you know I mean like how can I get experience if they won’t accept me” She complained and stood up putting her dishes in the sink.
“you don’t have to look for a job”
“but I want to because I don’t want to be a burden to you here”
“naah you’re not a burden for me. See you cleaned my messy house and you even do my laundry”
“but at least I can buy some of the groceries and also pay of some bills in this house, please Yuki let me find a job please”
“alright alright but not the dangerous work or heavy work ok?”
“yes, thank you”
“By the way I have to sleep now I’m so tired today. Good night Mayu”
“good night Yuki, just leave your dishes there and I’ll be the one to wash them”
“thanks”
Every day is like that. Mayu cooks breakfast and also make obento for me while me; I go to work and also plan for the small surprise party. I’m also busy searching for an answer. Every day the seed that Mayu planted in my heart is slowly growing inside but still I can’t find the answer. I don’t know in which type of liking this feeling of mine falls off.

I’m in the mall with Mayu waiting for Sae’s text if the arrangement in the house is finally done and just a few seconds my phone vibrated.
“it’s done, you can come here now” Sae texted me.
“Mayu let’s go home” I said to the girl who is looking at an anime figurine and she nodded.
“ahhh I need to go to the cr first Yuki, wait me here ok?” she said and run to the cr.
“miss I’ll take this one” I said to one of the staff in the store and quickly paid for it.
“I hope she’ll be happy for this gift” I whispered to myself
“Yuki let’s go”
“uhn”
The mall is not so far from my home so it only took a few minutes for us to get there. We get off from my car and opened the door.
“it’s so dark” Mayu said but startled from a sudden shout
“SURPRISE” the genki girl shouted loudly while Rena turned on the lights
“what’s this?” Mayu asked confusingly and turned her gaze upon me.
“we are having a surprise party for you” I smiled
“s-surprised party?for what? It’s not my birthday I think?”
“uhmm it’s like a recovery party or a welcoming party or birthday party too if you want to think like that. We just—“
“I Yuki, I” Rena clarified
“yeah, I just wanted to throw a surprise party for you”
“but you don’t have to”
“but I wanted to”
“alright alrigiht let’s eat now I’m hungry” Sae said and quickly make her way to the dining area. We followed her and sat down to our respective seats.
“by the way this is Rena and----“ I introduced Rena but paused halfway as I don’t know the name of the girl beside her.
“Jurina, Matsui Jurina” the girl beside Rena said “nice to meet you” she added
“nice to meet you too” Mayu answered back
“nice to meet you Mayu-chan” Rena said and got the same respond from Mayu
“and this is Sae, the doctor who checked you up that night”
“nice to meet you”
“same here”
The party started nicely, everyone is having fun. We all went to living room for karaoke and also drink some beers.
“ah there’s no more beer anymore” Sae who is now slightly drunk said
“I’ll get some, there’s still more in the fridge” Mayu said and gets up from the couch
“I’ll help her and bring some food here too” Jurina added and followed Mayu.
“ahh by the way Rena-chan, you’re Yuki’s senior in the police department right?” Sae chan asked while she pause the song from karaoke.
“yeah, why?” Rena responded to Sae’s question
“what was the first case did the both of you worked with?”
“uhmm it’s a smuggling case, right Yuki?”
“yeah it is and it happened that a man who has an order of a shoot to kill appeared in the crime scene and I saw him”
“yeah yeah then Yuki ran to the man to catch him and I followed her”
“wow it’s so cool it’s like from a detective drama, and so? What happened?”
“when I finally managed to catch up with Yuki they were talking about something and I was standing on Yuki’s right side pointing my gun to the said man” Rena said while doing the same thing as she did at the crime scene.
“but then the man didn’t continue his speech as he was afraid that Rena might shoot him so the man triggered the pistol he was holding and shot Rena” I said sitting in the couch trying to prevent my laughter from Rena’s pose.
“ohh that must’ve been hurt” Sae said while forming her hand like a gun and pointed it to Rena “bang”
“yeah it hurts a little bit but I’m so lucky that bullet only hit my arm. Yuki got angry and shot the man, Bang! Bang!”
“woah it’s soooo cool”
“if you think it’s so cool Sae-chan then why did you took up medicines instead of criminal justice and besides killing a person is not that cool” I said
“who’s that person again Yuki?” Rena asked and sat down beside me
“uhmm as far as I remember it’s not his real name but that person goes by the name of Asahi Mamoru”
“what was that?” Sae said while turning hear head to the person who is standing near the living room.
“sorry it slipped in my hands” Mayu said and picked up the beer cans on the floor.
“it’s fine, no worries” I said while walking to her “let me help you”
“thanks”
The night got darker and deeper and everyone is now drunk and is sleeping in the messy living room except Mayu and I.
“ahh we have to clean this mess” Mayu said while yawning
“but you are sleepy already, we can do it tomorrow, the garbage will not run anyway” I joked trying to make her laugh
“I never thought that Yuki is a joker” Mayu smiled “alright I’ll just head to the room and get some sleep then”
“alright good night Mayu”
“ah by the way Yuki”
“yes?”
“can I ask you a favour?”
“sure you can”
“I know this is weird or odd or strange or whatever but”
“but?” I said as she pauses. I felt a sudden nervousness as I saw Mayu’s face turned into serious one.
“but please don’t fall in love with me”
“w-what?” I stuttered as I was caught off guard.
“PLEASE DON’T FALL IN LOVE WITH ME” She said while bowing down.
The words rang inside my head. I was shocked, I was hurt and my heart broke into pieces. Then suddenly I realize that I found the answer to my question, in what type or category this feeling of mine falls off. It’s it not a sister liking or friend liking but it’s like a liking that will eventually turn into falling in love.
“o-of course I will not fall in love with you. You’re a girl and so I am and I’m just treating you like as my little sister, that’s all” I lied trying to hide my emotions
“that’s good to hear. Sorry for that favour and thanks for the party, Good night” Mayu smiled then headed towards her room.
I quickly get inside my room and locked it. I sat down near the door and hugged my knees. My tears suddenly fall from my face. The words she said earlier are still ringing inside my head like a broken cd. It hurts, it really hurts. I never thought I’m slowly falling in love with her and I never expected that she will ask that favour.
“PLEASE DON’T FALL IN LOVE WITH ME”
The words that made my heart broke into pieces. The words that made my eyes cry. The favour that I know I can’t keep or I can’t do. It’s hard for me to do it and the only option left for me is to hide this feeling in front of you so that you’ll not get mad at me. It’s the only way to see your smile, your face and to spend the day with you even though we are just like friends. I’m sorry Mayu but I’m slowly FALLING IN LOVE WITH YOU AND I CAN’T HELP IT.

Chapter 04
I woke up with swollen eyes, hair messed up and a broken heart. The weather is perfectly good but I’m not totally fine at all. Things just happened so fast last night that even I can’t think clearly. All I know was I don’t have an important place in Mayu’s heart. We are just friends nothing more nothing less.
“yuki!” a sudden knock startled me. I was hoping it wasn’t her who is in front of my door as I still don’t know what to do when I’m already facing at her. Luckily it’s not her voice that I heard, it was Sae’s.
“yes?” I answered with a fainted voice
“do you have a medicine for hangover? My head hurts like hell” She asked while opening the door “ ohh you looks so messed up” she giggled. I was not in the good mood but I tried to act that I’m fine.
“it’s in the right cabinet in the kitchen, and yeah I only have few hours of sleep and head starting to ache already” I lied a little bit. I don’t want her to know what really happens even though she’s my best friend. Well I’ll tell her in the right time but not now.
“oh thank you” Sae was about to leave but stop halfway “oh I forgot Mayu left a note telling that she’ll be looking for a part time job and maybe will go home late. She already prepared breakfast for the 3 of us” she added and then left my room.
“wait 3 of us?” I quickly get off from my bed and hurriedly followed Sae through the kitchen.
“oh Rena, good morning” I said while scratching my head.
“oh Good morning Yuki, you look pretty messed up today huh?” Rena giggled as she looks carefully to my appearance.
“I drank a lot of alcohol yesterday and this is the effect, hangover plus pretty messed up appearance, I will never ever drink alcohol” I lied, I really don’t have a hangover and alcohol is not really the reason why I looked pretty messed up.
“I heard that many times but at the end you will still drink alcohol” Sae who is pouring water to her glass said.
“shut up! And by the way where is Jurina?” I asked as she’s nowhere to be found.
“she have a part time job today so she left early this morning. I think she left with Mayu since there is a vacant position in Jurina’s workplace” Rena said while holding her head “Sae can you give me a medicine for hangover too”
“oh so that’s what Sae means for the 3 of us” I murmured then sat down in the chair.
“Here”
“thanks Sae, anooo can we eat now? I mean I’m hungry already and these foods are look so delish” Rena said who is already sitting on the chair and looking intensively to the food in front of her.
“oh yeah sure, by the way do you guys have work today?” I asked while getting some food.
“I have night shift ahhh it’s troublesome I don’t want to work but I have to -.- but oh well itadakimasu!” Sae happily eats her food “oishi! It’s really delish”
“hahaha it’s your fault for drinking too much, and how about you Rena?” I look to the girl who is sitting next to me.
“oh no I don’t have work today” she shook her head then continued eating her food.
“perfect! Can you help me cleaning our mess? As you can see empty cans are still everywhere and well let’s just have a general cleaning, if you don’t mind?” I ask her as I looked at my house in a state of chaos, like a hurricane just passed through it leaving a hell of a mess.
“sure no problem as long as you gonna treat me spicy ramen and melon pan” she grinned
“deal” I said then continued eating my breakfast. Few minutes had passed and Sae bids goodbye.
“I have to go now, need to sleep again. Thanks for the food” Sae said and went to her car.
“now where do we start?” I asked Rena who is scratching her head.
“ehm first we have to get a trash bag and put these empty cans and other stuff” Rena suggested
We headed to the kitchen once again to get a trash bag and then started picking up the empty cans everywhere in the house. After that, I went to my room to clean the mess there leaving Rena in the living room hovering with the carpet.
“clean clean clean to forget my broken heart heart heart. Clean clean clean and start a new life” I said to myself to forget the painful experience I had but when I turned around I found my gift for her lying on the floor and just a mere seconds the feelings went back.
“sigh, I guess I really love you that much and forgetting these feelings will be the last thing that I’ll do in this earth” I went to pick up my gift and an upward curve can be seen through my face.
“being friends is better than being strangers, for now I’ll stay as your friend but someday you’ll learn to love me Watanabe Mayu” I whispered to one in particular. Then I opened my door and went to Mayu’s room. There I lay down in the bed the gift I have for her.
“oh she forgot to fold her clothes” I then folder her things but a sudden thing dropped when I’m about to fold one of her shorts.
“what’s this?” I asked myself while picking a necklace with a key.
“ah this is the thing she was holding so tight when I first met her. It must be so important to her. I must keep it and give it to her later” I put it inside my pocket then continued folding her clothes.
“YUKI! LET’S ORDER SPICY RAMEN I’M SO HUNGRY!” a sudden loud shout can be heard from Rena.
“oh it’s already noon time” I whispered as I looked at the clock in the table near Mayu’s bed.
“ALRIGHT!A BIG BOWL OF SPICY RAMEN FOR ME!” I shouted back at her
“SURE! I’LL CALL THE RESTAURANT NOW SO THAT THEY CAN DELIVER IT AS FAST AS THEY CAN AND OH YOU MUST BE THE ONE TO PAY FOR IT OK? THANK YOU~~~~” she shouted back with so much energy.
“geez, this girl never get tired of eating spicy ramen and melon pan” I sighed then get the pile of folded clothes and put them in the cabinet. After doing the things I needed to do, I then went to the living room where Rena is sitting comfortably while watching television and waiting patiently for the spicy ramen she ordered awhile ago until my phone rang and also Rena’s phone.
“hello Yuki speaking” I said as I answered the phone.
“Kashiwagi-san can you report as soon as possible as there is a crime took place near where you found the previous case ‘the unconscious snatcher’” Inspector Suzuki who is on the other line said
“alright sir I’ll be there as soon as possible” I answered back and hang up.
“Rena you are called to report too?” I asked to the other who was also talking with somebody on her phone earlier.
“yeah, but my spicy ramen isn’t here yet damn it!” Rena stood up and gets her jacket.
“I know and I’m hungry but we have a work to do” I was a little bit pissed off but I still obey the order and get my jacket too.
“let’s go” I said to Rena who is now prepared and ready to go out.
“ yeah” she answered back.
At exact time when I opened the door, a delivery man standing firmly outside our house ready to push the bell smiled awkwardly.
“oh s-spicy ramen delivery” He said while giving the ramen to us.
“nice timing!” Rena happily said and quickly gets one big bowl of ramen with a pair of chopstick and headed to her car.
“here’s the payment, you can have the change and ahh I’ll just bring the bowl back to the restaurant later as we have something to do” I said while giving him the payment and gets the bowl of ramen then headed to my car without waiting for his response.
After few minutes of driving we then arrived to the place. There’s quite few people who are there trying to gossip about the crime.
“ahhh should I eat this ramen later or should I bring this to me in the crime scene” I asked myself while watching the ramen bowl sitting right next to me.
“ahh!!!! I’ll just bring it with me” I removed my seatbelt and get the bowl of ramen with a pair of chopstick and went out from my car. I saw Rena did the same thing and now eating her spicy ramen.
“Inspector Suzuki we are here” I said then eat my spicy ramen without hesitation even though I’m already inside the crime scene.
“you two finish first your ramen!” Inspector Suzuki ordered. We went to one of the corner and sat down there eating our spicy ramen.
“slurp! That was really good!” Rena said with a smile leaving her bowl in the corner.
“oi!the bowl put it inside your car! We need to bring it back to the restaurant!” I shouted while wiping my mouth.
“I’ll get it later just leave it there!” she shouted back and continue heading to where Inspector and the others are standing. I sighed in defeat and did the same thing.
“ The victim is Kawashima Jun, 36 years old. A head of a gang and that snatcher who was beaten badly was one of the members of his gang. He’s lucky because an old woman was passing right here and saw him lying unconscious right in this wall. She quickly called an ambulance and police. We are the first one to get here and this is the scene we’ve seen” Inspector Suzuki borrowed one of the camera of the police officer who is also working in forensic science department and showed me the picture of the guy who was really beaten up.
“this is kinda cruel” I said while staring at the camera. The face of the guy was covered with his own blood and swollen parts are found everywhere on his body.
“so where is he now? And what did the criminal used for beating that guy?” I asked
“no items have found here in crime scene nor an eye witness that saw the crime. Doctors are now treating him in the hospital any hours by now, we will know what item did the criminal used” Inspector Suzuki replied
“What about this one?” Rena pointed towards the wall with blood.
“it’s a signature from the criminal” Inspector Suzuki said “as you remember the snatcher who was beaten up badly too, he had that signature” he added
“WHERE?” Rena and I said in unison
“it was carved right on his tongue” Inspector Suzuki said
“this will be a hard case to solve” I sighed then started working. Rena and I still paired with each other. We then investigate the victim’s background that may lead us into solving this case. The only information we have is that this victim and the previous victim are in the same gang. The criminal also left the same signature. It’s either this is a work of the other gangs that hates them or their own members doing.
Hours had passed and we still didn’t find any clue. Inspector Suzuki ordered us to go home and get some rest and continue with the investigation tomorrow since it’s already dark. He also added that he will go to the Department of Defence since he was summoned by my uncle.
“tadaima” I said as I step inside my house.
“Okaerinasai, there’s a food in the kitchen, do you want me to re-heat it?” Mayu who is sitting in the couch stood up and went towards the kitchen.
“I’ll do it myself” I said and went to the kitchen
“oh ok fine, then I’ll go to sleep then since I’ll be starting to work in the café where Jurina is working” she said with a cold voice
“wait” I shouted and she turned to look at me. Her eyes are so empty like you can’t even read what she’s thinking.
“here, your necklace I found it in your room when I was folding your clothes” I give her the necklace that I kept inside my pocket.
“my necklace!” she said and abruptly gets the necklace in my hand.
“it must be so important to you” I said but she didn’t reply instead she said these words
“I know this is your house and you bought me clothes but please don’t touch my other stuff” I was shocked with her cold attitude towards me. She’s not the Mayu I knew she’s different now from before.
“sorry” the only word I muttered as I look closely to her figure who is slowly fading away.
“Why are you treating me like this? You don’t have to treat me coldly if you don’t want to me to fall in love with you. It hurts deep inside you know. I even wanted to talk to you more today on how exhausting my work is , on how I’m lost in solving the cases that we are currently holding. I even wanted to congratulate you for having a job but you talked to me coldly and then left me” I thought and just quickly went to my room to rest since I don’t have an appetite to eat anymore.
The next day I woke up early to go to work and continue our investigation. I search for a particular figure and to my dismay she’s nowhere to be found instead I only saw a note in the table telling that she left already leaving a breakfast for me.
“is she avoiding me somehow?” I asked myself then sat down to the chair and started eating. After that I hurriedly went to the headquarters to pick up Rena since we decided to use only one car for the investigation today. We then continued the investigation without any leads. We are like looking for something that never exists.
“rena your phone is ringing” I said while driving my car going back to the headquarters.
“hello? Yeah we are heading back to the headquarters since we really don’t have any clues or evidence found in the victim’s background. Wait what? Inspector Suzuki , yeah we’ll go there immediately” Rena with a shocked face said and hung up.
“what happened?” I asked with curiosity
“another crime occurred, the victim is one of your uncle’s men and the other one is Inspector Suzuki. Now let’s head out 2-chome from department of Defence” she said
After minutes of travelling, we then arrived in the crime scene.
“how is Inspector Suzuki?” Rena and I asked one of our teammates.
“he is still unconscious but his life is not in danger anymore. Nevertheless Inspector and one of the men of your uncle are badly beaten up. The same as the 2 case that we are handling right now. Criminal’s signature is there and lucky enough there’s one eyewitness saw the criminals” he said with full of hope
“criminals? How many are they who did this?” Rena asked
“2 persons who were wearing all black with only eyes can be seen” He replied
“now the connection between the two cases are messed up since these 2 victims, my uncle’s man and Inspector Suzuki don’t have any connections with each other neither a connection with those gang but we already have few idea about the culprits, it’s still a good thing” I said while scanning the area.
“what about sketches of the criminals?” Rena asked
“we can’t do that since the witness only saw them for a mere seconds so what the witness saw is not really that accurate” he explained
“can we classified this one as perfect crime? They are professionals” Rena sighed
“for now let’s visit Inspector Suzuki” I suggested and Rena nodded. We went to the hospital where Inspector is being monitored. It’s also the hospital where Sae is working.
“hey Sae” I said when I saw Sae passed by to the information desk
“yo Rena and Yuki! Ah by the way is Inspector Suzuki your boss?” Sae asked without hesitation
“yeah he is, by the way how is he?” Rena asked
“he’s fine now but need to be observe from time to time. There’s no wound that can tell that the criminal uses a tool. Basically their wounds are from the punches and kicks they’ve got from them. Ah by the way Yuki here, a little envelop inside your Inspector’s suit , your name was written in there so it must be for you from your uncle” Sae said while handing me the letter. I opened the letter and saw what was written.
“The Criminals behind the Case You Don’t Want to Remember” that was the first words that I read after opening the letter.
“Rena I’ll go to the toilet first” I said to excuse myself and read the letter with privacy. The information written there are only codenames. 4 codenames but I still think it is good news as I already have a lead to who really kills my father.
“Rena I’ll go home first as I have something to do” I said and hurriedly ran towards the hospital’s exit. After I got home I quickly get open my laptop in the living room and start planning about the investigation that I have to do.
“just as I thought it’s not really an accident, it’s really a murder, thanks uncle” I whispered and tried to analyze the few information that I have. Time to time I watch the wall clock to know what time is it already. It’s running late but Mayu still isn’t home but little did I know my eyes are starting to close and later on I fall asleep.
“sorry Yuki I have to let you go even though I love you so much and thanks for everything. I just have to do this to protect you” I heard a faint sound and after few seconds a warm thing touches my cheeks. I opened my eyes but I saw no one.
“maybe I was just dreaming” I said then turned my glance in the front door and saw Mayu’s shoes are already there.
“I didn’t even heard your footsteps coming inside the house” I sighed “I miss you, the you before you acts so cold towards me, the you who is a childish one that likes to watch anime all the time, the you that I fall in love with” I said looking down and a tear drops in my eyes.
“please just stay beside me and that would be enough” I added fearing that one day because of her coldness towards me will eventually be the reason of leaving me behind. I cried and cried until I fall asleep once again.
I woke up with the birds happily chirping outside my house and with the sun shining so bright. I went to the kitchen to drink a glass of water but instead I was shocked at the note attached to the ref.
“For these past few days, thank you for taking care of me. I decided to move out coz I don’t want to be a burden to you anymore. You really a great person, thank you really for everything and sorry for this inappropriate goodbye from me --- Mayu”
I unconsciously dropped the glass and broke it into pieces just like the situation of my heart right now. I hurriedly ran towards her room but she’s not there. I even opened her drawers and cabinets but I couldn’t find her items. The fearful event that I was trying to avoid is now happening in front of me. I’m now at lost, couldn’t think clearly at all and just sat down there crying like an idiot.
“why is this happening to me? Why does everyone that I love always leaves me alone, why?” I cried non-stop not even bothering that I have a work and investigation to do today.
“mayu, why?”

Chapter 05
I’m still sitting in Mayu’s room still crying not even answering my phone calls that are coming from Rena. I was totally doomed and always asking
myself WHY? even I know I will never ever get a respond. After a while I heard my door bell rang followed by a loud knock and a shout.
“Yuki are you there? Yuki?” It was Rena’s voice. I decided to open the door since I want to talk with someone.
“why won’t you answer my calls? And why does your eyes so swollen?” she asked me with a concern voice.
“Mayu left me” I said then tears began to fall again. Rena hugs me and gave her shoulder for me to lean on.
“don’t worry things will get better soon” she said, comforting me from my love problem.
“I hope so” I said weakly and broke the hug
“Yuki, I know this isn’t the right time for me to say but we have a work to do, and emotions like this are taboo once we are already in the work” Rena said telling me one of the rules that we must obey.
“I know, I have to change my clothes first. I’ll be right back” I said and went to my room and change. After few minutes I went back to the living room where Rena is waiting.
“you know what, she must have a reason why she is doing this to you right now and you might possibly find the answer somehow. So just give your best at your work right now and maybe it will make you forget about her a little bit” Rena said without looking at me and like she knows everything about love.
“well I guess she’s right” I thought
“thanks, let’s go” I said to her and then walked out to my house.
We just did the same thing all over again, investigate the things that might be connected to the cases we are holding right now but there’s no lead at all and I’m also investigating the case where my father was involve. Every night when I went home I always remember her. Her smile, her laugh, the smell of her hair, the delish food that she always prepares, everything that involves with her, I remember them and I don’t want to forget any one of those memories. Every night I shed tears, tears of loneliness, tears of emptiness, and tears of being left behind well I think crying is the only way for me to fall asleep.
“hello?” I said when someone called me through my phone.
“hello Yuki-chan this is your uncle, are you crying? “ He asked, maybe it’s kinda obvious that because my voice.
“no, I was sleeping” I lied
“oh sorry, I just want to inform you that starting tomorrow you’ll have 2 bodyguards that will guard you from afar” He informed me
“but I’m an adult now and I’m in a police department so I’ll not really be in danger” I replied. I know he’s just concern about me but this thing is
ridiculous.
“I know, but as you can see you are holding a dangerous case right now, even your boss and one of my men got beaten up. We don’t know if the criminals are really after me. So please just agree to this favour. I promise they won’t bother you when you are at your work” He explained
“alright and uncle thank you for that” I said with a curve in my face
“no problem I hope it will help about the case of my brother-in-law, your father” he said
“thank you very much, good night” I said and then hang up. I stood up and went to my table and open my laptop. It’s still 2:50 am but I couldn’t sleep anymore so I just decided to search and do again my investigation about my father’s case.
I only had my father since my mother died while giving birth at me. He’s always there for me even though he’s busy and I’m so grateful for that. I’m also so proud of him because he was the Chief Officer on the department I’m currently working at but I think happiness is really never meant for me. It was 4 years ago when that crime happened. He said he was going to meet someone that holds a big evidence to prosecute a man but he didn’t tell his colleagues or me the man’s name. The last words he said to me were ‘take care Yuki-chan, papa loves you’ and just that, breaking news popped out in the tv screen announces a car accident that involves my father. At that time I couldn’t believe it and the police only said it was an accident. I know it’s not, I know there’s something more to that accident that’s why I took up criminal justice and became a police officer. I know these 4 codenames that were listed in this paper could help me find the answer. Either they are the one who kills my parents or one of them was the man who my father’s needed to meet.
“sigh, it’s already morning” I looked at my window where the light coming from the sun starting to show up. I stretched my arms then stood up and went to the bathroom to have shower. I then prepared my own breakfast and go to the headquarters.
“Good morning” Rena said when I entered the room.
“Good morning” I replied and sat down near my desk.
“did you get any sleep?” she asked “and what do you want coffee or tea?” she added
“coffee please thank you and yeah just a little bit though” I said softly slapping my face to wake me up
“here, hahay we still got no lead about the incidents but lucky enough there’s no new victim” Rena said while giving me the cup of coffee.
“I hope this case will not become a cold case and by the way how is Inspector Suzuki?” I asked while sipping the coffee.
“he’s pretty fine but still need to take a rest in the hospital. He can’t still partake in the investigation so we must work hard for his share” Rena said and went to the window opening the window blind.
“what’s with that car there” She said motioning me to stand up and look at it. I stood up and went to where she was standing and face palmed.
“sorry, they aren’t suspicious. They are my bodyguards hired by my overprotective uncle” I said and then went back to my desk.
“ohhh hope they won’t bother us from our work” She said and went to her desk “before I forgot at 10 am we have to go and ask questions again to the victims family” she added then continued her work.
“alright” I replied. I then open one of my drawers in my desk and found out a small piece of envelope.
“Kashiwagi Yuki-san” I read the cover of the envelope and immediately open it without a second thought.
“this signature and this codename, it can’t be?” I was shocked after reading the letter then put it back on the drawer and get my gun. I immediately ran outside and start my car engine.
“hey yuki! Where are you going HEY!” Rena shouted but I didn’t bother at all.
(meanwhile Rena opened the drawer and found the envelope. She then read what was written on it. I know the person who was behind the accident 4 years ago. If you want to know then meet me in the same place where the smuggling case took place ------ creamcracker and I><I.
“I see, it started already” Rena said then gets one of her guns inside her drawer and followed Yuki with her own car )
I’m heading right now to the place where the smuggling case took place. I know it’s dangerous but this is the only way to find the answer. I have to know what happened 4 years ago.
“you can do this” I said to myself while taking a deep breath. Afterwards, I open my car door and headed to the abandoned building.
Gripping tightly the gun I’m holding, I slowly walk to the abandoned warehouse. Sensing the atmosphere, taking extra care I then hide in a post. I look around to find a human figure but to my dismay there’s none. I took a deep breath and then continue walking until
“hello there Kashiwagi Yuki-san” a familiar voice said. I then turned around and found a figure standing in a door with a hoodie and only eyes can be seen. The figure then ran outside telling me to follow. I chase him still taking an extra care coz it might be a trap.
“do you remember this place?” the figure spoke once again. I look around trying to remember. It was the place where I shot the man who has a shoot to kill order.
“I guess you do” the figured let a small laugh and took a step towards me. I take a back and pointed my gun towards the person in front of me.
“stop moving or else I’ll shoot you” I warned still pointing my gun towards that person.
“you gonna shoot me like what you did to that man?” that person said like he knows what happened at that night. I was caught off guard and he took the opportunity to kick my gun away from me. The person then took my hand and pushes me towards the wall beside me then puts his forearm in my neck trying to strangle me. I admit this person is really strong.
“what do you want from me?” I asked with a faint voice trying to push away the person’s forearm but I didn’t get any respond. I look deeply in the person’s eyes but there’s nothing there. It’s empty the same as mine. Because of my stare the person weakens its grip and I took this a chance and push him away from me. I tried to throw a punch but unluckily he prevented it.
“you want to play this game huh?” the person spoke once again then throw a punch towards my face which I wasn’t prepare. I close my eyes waiting the punch to land but it didn’t. I heard a laugh and opened my eyes just to see the person’s arm stop half way and then put it down.
“are you making fun of me?” I said annoyed as this person is just like playing a prank on me.
“no no, not at all” the person giggled which make my temper boil.
“look I don’t have time for this prank okay?, if you know something about that accident then tell me NOW” I shouted making him stop giggling.
“if that’s what you want then BEAT ME FIRST” the persons voice became serious. I let out a sigh then ran towards him. I then throw a kick but he block it and throw a punch but then again he stop in the midway. I throw a punch towards his face but he was too fast and captured my flying punch.
“not my face” he said and push me.
“damn it!” I thought as my opponent is really strong.
“ah by the way I forgot, we are the organization behind your father’s accident. Are those words fine to make you angry?” upon hearing those words my anger rises and I couldn’t control it anymore.
“YOU!” I shouted and throw kicks and punch to him and luckily some landed perfectly but he’s still not fighting back.
“YOU!FIGHT BACK!” I shouted angrily
“if that’s what you want Yuki!”
“Yuki,Yuki,Yuki” I thought that voice is really familiar.
He then ran towards me and punches me in my stomach making me bend from the pain and then hit my back using his elbow making me land on the ground.
“you chose this, you forced me to do this” that voice, that familiar voice.
“why are you doing this, what have my father done to your organization” I asked coughing a lil bit from the pain.
“you’ll know at the right time” he said trying to walk away
“don’t give me that shit” I said then picks up my gun which is lying near me. I then stood up and pointed my gun towards him but at the exact time I did that he faces me with a gun pointing towards me. We just stare it each other for 10 seconds. No movement at all just pointing our guns towards each other until
“Yuki!” Rena suddenly appeared in my right side pointing a gun towards him. This scene, these spots it looks like from what happened before.
“Rena” I sighed in relief as I know that Rena can help me capturing this man in front of me but I was wrong.
“gomene, I’m late. Those bodyguards of Yuki-san are a little bit strong but anyways I already knocked them down” a sudden figure came out pointing a gun in Rena’s head.
“ne, ne can you put your gun down, Rena-san or else your brain will explode” the new figure said with a serious tone making Rena put down her gun and slide it towards the person in front of me.
“thank you, I just don’t want to see someone pointing a gun towards her” the person spoke again.
“her?and how did you know our names?” I said since I thought the person in front of me was a man.
“giggled, nice timing Centre and yeah I’m a girl” the person in front of me said. I was shocked since that codename ‘Centre’ was one of the codenames listed on that paper.
“you are killers, YOU KILLED MY FATHER!” I shouted angrily as I already facing the people behind my father’s accident.
“uh-uh, then you and the person in front of you are equal” the person name Centre said still pointing a gun at Rena’s head.
“what do you mean?” I confusedly asked
“this exact place where I’m currently standing at, a person was shot with a gun and died. That person has a shoot to kill order without given any reason why he has that order. At this exact place a person lost his life without a chance to explain his self” she said. I looked at her eyes now full of pain and hatred.
“you killed my father and our organization killed your father. Really we are born to be mortal enemy not as lover Yuki-chan” the girl said removing her mask revealing a familiar face that I’m longing to see for so long.
“Ma-mayu don’t te-tell me?” I said stuttering as I was hoping this is not real.
“yeah I’m Watanabe Mayu, Nezumi is my codename, the daughter of the person you killed and a member of the organization that killed your father and that person next to you is Centre” she said giving a small smile.
“I’m Centre oh wait to be exact Matsui Jurina, nice to meet you again Yuki-san and you too Rena-san” the girl name Centre said while removing her mask.
“Jurina, no way” I heard Rena’s voice
“yes way, my dear” Jurina said with a smile
My eyes widened from the truth that is being revealed in front of me. This person in front of me that I loathe for killing my father is the same person that I really do love.
“Mayu is Nezumi. No way” I thought

Mayu’s POV (a day before she met Yuki)
“neh mom is dad still busy with his investigation about that man. It’s already been 4 years you know.” I asked my mom who is in the kitchen cooking food for dinner.
“yeah I know but he needs to finish it no matter what, for the sake of his partner” she answered “oh phone is ringing can you answer it for me Mayu-chan” she added as the telephone suddenly rang.
“alright” I said and then went to where the phone is and pick it up.
“hello Watanabe desu may I know who’s calling please?” I asked to the person who is in the other line.
“Asahi Mamoru” the person said
“hello Dad what’s up, I miss you and why are you using your codename?” I asked as he really never uses his codename when he calls to our house.
“I miss you too Mayu-chan, can I speak to your mom for a minute?” he asked without answering my question.
“alright” I said and then shouted to my mom that dad is looking for her.
“hello honey what’s up?” Mom cheerfully said but after mere seconds her face becomes serious.
“Mayu, can you go upstairs for a moment? Me and your Dad has something important to discuss” She ordered
“but mom I’m already a big girl now and I want to know Dad’s mission coz I’m too bored with our childish mission from the organization” I complained and pouted
“Nezumi! Not now, please just follow my order and be a good girl” She said with a serious tone. I know when my mom uses my codename it would be an order and I need to follow it since when it comes to the organization my mom,dad and others are our pioneers that we must obey.
“alright” I sighed and then went upstairs. I can’t barely hear anything from their discussion so I just turned on my tv and watch anime instead.
*Meanwhile in the living room*
“she’s in her room already, what’s the matter?”
“things are getting more dangerous, they found out that I’m a spy and now they are searching for me. please do at what I’ll tell you to do”
“can’t you suspend your investigation and continue it if things will get better?”
“it’s too late to back out now. Please honey, protect Mayu for me and take care of yourself too. I already told Sadist that things getting dangerous and I need him to protect you guys. Listen no matter what happens to me, I love you and Mayu always and forever”
“where are you right now? And please don’t tell something like that”
“I’m currently heading to an abandoned warehouse near the sea. Smuggling will be happening and that man will appear there. It would be really great evidence aside from the evidence that I put in a safe place”
“but you said it’s dangerous, you might lose your life. I don’t want to lose you; we don’t want to lose you”
“this is my mission and I’m obliged to do this and finish this. There’s a small box in the third column of my cabinet. Give that box to Mayu, it contains a key necklace which ------“
“hello?Mamoru?hello?”
“I love you too, please comeback alive” Mayu’s mom tearfully said even though the person on the other phone already hang up.
*back to Mayu’s POV
“are they not done yet? I’m hungry already” I thought to myself now sitting in the chair while reading a manga.
“Mayu, dinner is ready!” a sudden shout from my mom can be heard.
“Alright” I went downstairs and then greeted by a delish aroma coming from the food that my mom made.
“so what did dad and you talked about?” I asked while eating my food.
“nothing and oh wait I need to give you something. It was your dad’s late birthday present for you” she said then got up and went to her room.
“Nothing means something you know mom” I shouted for her to hear. After few minutes she came back holding a small box.
“here” she said giving me the box “open it” she added
“I just want him to be there at my birthday” I pouted while reaching the box and then open it. Inside the box was a key necklace. It’s simple but
beautiful.
“did you like it?” mom asked smiling back at me and I just gave her nod. She went to my side and grab the necklace and then she help me wear it.
“never lose this necklace. Take good care of it” she whispered and kissed my forehead
“I will” I said holding the key pendant.
“let’s eat”
“hai!”
The next day it was shining so bright. Birds are chirping happily, wind blowing softly and people are in good mood.
“good morning” I said to my mom while stretching my arms.
“good morning Mayu, your mom really cooks delicious food”
“Ehhh? Jurina? Jl? What are you guys doing here?”
“hmmm eating breakfast? Right Jl?”

I face palmed as I saw my two best friends from school who are also my partners in the organization eating breakfast in my own house.
“oh good morning Mayu” other voice said
“ehh?Rabutan you’re here too?” I was surprise that almost all of the members from team J are gathered here in my house, well only one member
missing though.
“yeah, I just used your comfort room” she said then sat down to my chair.
“oi that’s my chair” I said but she just smile at me. “these girls just ruined my morning” I thought and sat down to the empty chair next to Jurina.
“it’s so nice to have energetic kids in the morning, right Mayu-chan?” my mom said putting a plate with food.
“itadakimasu” I eat my food together with my mom and these 3 idiots. Well it’s not really a bad idea though and it’s a little bit fun.
“this is bad!we’re going to be late” Jl suddenly shouted and quickly drink her water. The 3 of us did the same and then hurriedly get our things.
“ittekimasu” the three of us shouted
“itterashai” my mom’s replied
School went well, the 4 us were sent in the office again because of our pranks but its fun. Hiding the eraser and chalks in the research class and also
raising our hands when the teacher isn’t looking at us. We also cut classes in our history subject. We’re not really serious about school and life at the moment. We’re just having fun right now. After school we then went to the organization’s building to attend our daily training. It took 2 hours for fighting training and 2 hours of acting training. It’s already 7:30 pm and it’s raining cats and dogs. I didn’t know that it will rain today so I didn’t bring any umbrella.
“geez what a wrong timing” I complained
“we’re going home first, ja ne Mayu-chan” Rabutan said while opening her umbrella and shared it with Jurina and Jl.
“Ja ne Nezumi, tomorrow we’ll be coming again to your house and eat breakfast with you!” Jurina shouted
“the 3 of you! Eat your own breakfast at your own house not at my house!” I shouted back at them
“but your mom’s food are really delicious. Ja ne~” Jl smiled. Then the 3 of them continued walking. We live in opposite direction so I really can’t go with them.
“you guys are really good friends” a sudden voice spoke behind me that startled me a little bit
“oh Sadist-san, yeah we are” I answered
“by the way Nezumi if something happens, call me” I was confused as why she told me that.
“just in case, that’s all and oohh by the way I really do want to give you a ride but unfortunately I’m busy right now haha!” she giggled and gave me a wink then headed to her office.
“you really are a sadist” I pouted then sighed “lucky I’m wearing civilian clothes right now because of that training” I thought then puts my bag on my head and run towards my house which is 10 minutes away from here.
“tadaima” I said softly since I’m too tired and I feel so cold right now.
“maybe she’s not yet home” I thought to myself as I didn’t get any respond until I heard some noise upstairs. I quickly put my bag in the couch and then ran to where the noises come from only to see my mom fighting with some bad men. I was about to take a step to help my mom but she suddenly shouted.
“Safety first!” I know what she means. She is ordering to me to hide to that place where she knows I’ll be fine and safe.
“NOW!” she shouted making me to take aback. I then run as fast as I could as I can hear some footsteps that are following me but I know my mom will going to take care of them. My feet then lead me to a small room which only 1 person can be suited. It’s the place that I really don’t want to use since this room is made when something really bad happens.
“no matter what happens even you’re strong Mayu-chan, hide in here and never go out until things gets better. No matter what happens you must obey our order, no buts but just yes” they always say that to me and always reminding me. I never thought that a day would come and I must use this.
I quickly get inside in that room eye glued in a small hole trying to see what’s happening.
“where are you kiddo?” 3 men with scary look said
“she’s not here anymore” I heard my mom’s voice kicking one of the men’s face
“I see, you’re a persisting mom trying to protect your daughter, but the game is over ma’am you’re being outnumbered” A tall man walks towards my mom pointing a gun towards her “men hold her” he ordered to his troops
“no matter what you’re going to do to me, truth will be reveal, not right now but someday” my mom said looking fiercely to that man.
“what’s going on?” I thought to myself with confusion
“stop with your blabbering and give me that documents right now!” the man shouted with anger signalling his man to beat up my mom.
“m—“ I was about to shout when a machine covers my mouth and holds my arms preventing me to make a noise.
“I don’t have the documents” my mom said weakly as she spit out some blood.
I couldn’t do anything. Tears keep flowing down my face as I’m watching a scene that I don’t want to see.
“don’t act like a dumb!” the man said holding my mom’s hair making her to stand up.
“I said I don’t have the documents” my mom shouted making the man lose his patience and punch my mom’s stomach.
“you know what if you just give me that damn documents, I will never use this gun towards you” the man said putting a silencer to his gun.
“no matter how many times you ask me I will never give you an answer” my mom still acting strong said.
“what to do? Cellphone! Ahhh Shit!” I thought as I saw my bag laying on the couch where I put my phone earlier.
“mom just tell them, please” I was hoping that she’ll tell them but that thing never happen.
“then I have no choice, sayonara!” the man said then shots my mom. I saw my mom slowly falling to the ground. Blood splatters on her shirt and on the floor. I’m now speechless and numb from the horror scene that is playing in front of me. Now I’m full with hatred, full of pain.
“let’s go” the man said signalling his man to follow him and leave the house.
“I’ll remember your faces and take revenge” I whispered. The machine then loses its grip making me move a little bit. I took this chance and broke the machine making me free. I quickly open the door and ran towards where my mom is laying.
“mom hang in there I’ll call an ambulance and Sadist-san” I said as I saw her still breathing faintly. I was about to get my phone when my mom holds my arm.
“Mayu listen, you must be the one to continue and finish your dad’s investigation. Sadist will explain to you everything” she said with a fainted voice
“mom stop talking please” I asked while sobbing .
“I lied, it’s not really a birthday present from your Dad, that necklace is the key where your dad puts the documents. Don’t you ever lose that necklace Mayu-chan. You have to reveal the truth and protect the people in this country. Remember this always, me and your dad loves you” she said while a tear drop from her eyes “gomene” she added and slowly closes her eyes and after mere seconds she stops breathing.
“mom, mom, wake up, please” I shake her several times but I got no respond.
“I’ll be a good girl from now on so please stay beside me, neh mom” again no respond. I can’t control the flow of my tears anymore as they just continue dropping from eyes.
“no way, MOM!!!!” I hugged my mom while crying. Thunder and lightning can be heard and seen. It’s still raining non-stop like my tears right now. I stood up and went to where my bag is and dialled Sadist-san’s number.
“hello?Mayu what’s wrong?” the person in the other line asked
“my mom” I said looking at my mom who is laying on the floor, lifeless.
“what happened to your mom? She asked worriedly
“she’s ….gone” I said and dropped my cellphone
“I’ll be right there asap, stay there” I heard her voice but I can’t process all of these things in my head right now. I went back to where my mom’s laying.
“from now on I’ll be serious and I promise I will finish this battle with victory in our hands. Your sacrifice will not be wasted. I will make you proud. I love you” I said giving her a kiss in the cheek. I then went outside trying to follow those men but there’s no trace left. My feet are now walking aimlessly while scenes that happened earlier flashes back in my mind without noticing that there’s a car running towards me. Luckily it stopped just few cm away from me. I just stare at the person inside while I’m trembling with coldness until I fainted. Few hours I woke up in a small room which is not familiar to me. I tried to remember what happened but I failed.
“where am I and wait why I can only remember my name?” I asked to the tall girl who is leaning against the wall. I saw her eyes widened then quickly shouted a person’s name.
“Yuki, come here!”
As the time that girl shouted, a new girl came with a long black hair and with a white skin. The tall girl walks nearer to that new girl and said something.
“where am I? and who are you?” I asked with confusion while looking around the unfamiliar surroundings.
“you’re in my house. I saw you collapsed in the road so I brought you home. I’m Kashiwagi Yuki and this is Dr. Miyazawa Sae. Don’t be afraid we are not bad and we are not going to harm you” She said calmly while walking towards me. “what’s your name?” She asked
“Mayu, Watanabe Mayu” I said while looking to my necklace. This necklace is somewhat familiar.
“you really don’t know what happened to you before you collapsed? Or who your parents are and where you lived?” she asked again. I tried to remember but I can’t and I slowly felt pain in my head.
“ahhh,my head hurts” I said holding my head as I couldn’t take the pain anymore.
“calm down, calm down. Don’t think about it too much. You have to rest” Dr. Miyazawa said while brushing my back. The girl named Yuki excuses herself and went out from the room.
“gomene, I couldn’t really remember anything aside from my name” I apologized while trying to hold my tears.
“it’s fine and don’t worry you’ll remember it. Just don’t force yourself ok?” She smiled. I then lay down and closes my eyes. The girl named Sae then went out in the room leaving me alone.
“what in the world did happen to me?” I thought and drifted off to sleep.

Chapter 07
I’m in a dark room, can’t breathe enough, sweats drop one after another, my mouth is covered by a machine and eyes are wide open as I’m looking at a terrifying scene that no one wants to watch . A person in front of me is about to get killed by those guys.
“NO,STOP IT,PLEASE STOP IT, NO NO NOOOOOO!”
Those were the words I wanted to shout but every time I tried to neither speak nor move, the machine tightens its grip. Then just a blink of an eye a gunshot can be heard throughout the room. The woman is slowly falling down while blood is dripping on the cold floor. I wanted to shout out loud but I can’t, that moment I know I’m helpless, I can’t do anything to that person. The guys left as they know they couldn’t get any information anymore and the machine that is currently covering my mouth and holding my body is slowly releasing me from its tight grip. I wish that this horrifying moment in my life is just a nightmare, a nightmare that needs to be buried forever and then a light flashes in my eyes making my senses to come back. I opened it immediately then touch it. I can feel a warm liquid, a nightmare tears.
“it’s just a dream” I sighed in relief while tears started to flow again then I heard the door opened revealing a worried Kashiwagi-san. She then hugs me tightly and comforted me brushing my back with her warm hand.
“it’s fine now. I’m here” she said
“I *sniff* had a *sniff* nightmare. It’s so scary” I said with a broken voice, still crying. That dream was so real, that maybe there’s a possibility that the nightmare I had earlier is connected to why I can’t remember anything about my past.
“shhh. It’s fine now. It’s just a dream. Uhmmm what about we’ll go to an amusement park? What do you think?” she offered. She’s so kind to treat a stranger like me in that way.
“I want to go there but you have work, right?” I asked while wiping my tears away.
"it’s fine. I’ll just tell them I have some important things to do” she replied with a smile
“un” I nodded and gave her the best smile I could give in return for her kindness towards me.
“go and take a shower first. I’ll call my boss and tell him that I can’t come in for work today and after that I will prepare the breakfast” she said and I nodded then followed what she told me to do.
In the shower room, I find myself in a deep thought. What if that dream is real? What if those guys are coming after me? What if Yuki will get involved with all of these matters that currently I don’t remember? And lastly who’s that woman in my dream? Is she important to me?
“Mayu, it’s not real, it’s not real” I keep on telling myself. I then went out in the shower room and change clothes that Yuki prepared for me.
“Mayu-chan, breakfast is ready” She shouted loud enough for me to hear. I quickly went downstairs and saw her in the kitchen putting the food in the table.
“neh, Kashiwagi-san, why did you let me stay in here and take care of me? I’m a stranger you know” I asked and sat down on the chair near the table. There’s only quite few people know that lets a stranger stay in their house. I mean we don’t know if that person is bad or not, we don’t know what’s going on in that person’s mind.
“hmm. I don’t know but seeing you last night makes me feel that I’m kinda responsible to you. I almost hit you with my car too y’know and yes you’re a stranger but I know you’re not harmful.” She said while putting plates on the table.
“responsible” I thought
“you still don’t know me at all” I said while looking at her.
“why?do you know yourself now? I mean you lost some of your memories right?” she said while sitting opposite to me.
“she’s right, I lost some of my memories, but what if I regain them, will she still feels that I’m her responsibility?” I thought. I know this sudden loss of memories is just temporary.
“yeah, you’re right” I replied looking down. It’s not because I’m sad that I lost my memories. I’m just afraid to know what kind of person I am if I already get back my memories.
“don’t worry, I’ll help you remember your past” She comforted her and gives me her best smile “let’s eat now, we still have lots of things to do” she added
“thank you, Kashiwagi-san” I smile “I hope you won’t regret helping me to remember my past” I thought
“just Yuki, call me Yuki” she looks at me with a cute face
“un, Yuki” I said. I like to say it, I really do.
We then continued eating our breakfast then drove off to the police department because she needs to drop some files to her boss.
“just wait here ok? I just need to submit my report and after this we’ll go straight to the amusement park” She said holding her report. She turned on
the music maybe because she don’t want me to get bored waiting for her. She gets off from the car and left me sitting here while enjoying the rock music.
While I’m listening to the music, a sudden appearance of a memory from the past flashes through my mind making my head feels heavy and aching.
I was holding a necklace, just a simple one then a girl in front of me suddenly spoke.
“did you like it?”
“never lose this necklace. Take good care of it”
“the same girl who was in my dream earlier” I thought then another images flash once again.
“Mayu listen, you must be the one to continue and finish your dad’s investigation. Sadist will explain to you everything”

“their slowly coming back” I thought while trying to put the pieces together.
I looked at my necklace then hold it tightly.
“an important piece, a key to solve these mysteries” I whispered. I saw Yuki who is now getting out in the police department. I tried to be cheerful, singing the song that is being played on the radio.
“HOW DO WE GET HERE, WHEN I USED TO KNOW YOU SO WELL~~~” lucky I know this song.
“ehem, you seems like you’re having a good time” She said as she opened the door letting out a small laugh.
“I like this song” I smilingly said.
“it’s decode by Paramore. My best friend who is on vacation likes that song too. It’s the OST of her favourite movie” She informed and started the car’s engine.
“who is she? And vacation? where?” I asked still playing her air guitar. To put up a show earlier so that Yuki wouldn’t notice that I’m puzzled right now.
“I called her Acchan. She’s in UK right now with Takamina but they will be coming back week after next.
“Takamina…..Acchan” I thought
“wow. Are there lots of castles there? I love castles” I asked while looking outside the window.
Our little conversation is not that interesting at all especially when you’re thinking about something. Then after few minutes we arrived in the
amusement park. The place is really nice and there are lots of people making it livelier.
For an instant, my childishness surpasses my maturity making me eagerly to come out from the car and ride those fabulous rides that the park is offering. When Yuki turned off the car’s engine, I immediately went out from the car without giving her a time to speak that we’re here.
“WAAA! AMUSEMENT PARK!” I couldn’t help myself to shout those words. This is the best place to forget something that is making your life complicated for awhile.
“I’ll solve you later, but for now let me just enjoy the moment” I said to my own self as I feel that after this one, I can’t act like a child anymore.
“YUKI! C’mon let’s ride all of the rides that this amuseme----- WAAA, ice cream ice cream. Can I have ice cream?” I asked her, she smiled. I smiled back at her.
“I’m happy that you’re smiling” I murmured for her not hear my words.
“alright” She agreed and bought me an ice cream then handed it to me. It was a vanilla ice cream with a wafer stick on it.
“ice cream is really the best!!!” I shouted happily
“really?” she said in between her laughter
“uhn, you want some?” I said offering the ice cream I have. She nodded then tasted the ice cream.
“ice cream is really the best!!!” she suddenly shouted making the people around us to stare us.
We chuckled for a moment, then laugh out loud. We shared ice cream; I never thought sharing an ice cream makes it sweeter than it should be. After eating and choosing a ride, I decided to try roller coaster since its kinda challenging.
“are you sure you want to ride this Mayu?” she asked me trying to hide hear fear but failed to do so.
“yeah, it’s fun. Why? Are you afraid Yuki?” I said trying not to give her a smirk
“of co-course I-I’m not” she stuttered. She’s so cute when she’s trying to act so cool in front of me.
“ohh a police officer named Kashiwagi Yuki is afraid of riding rollercoaster” I teasingly said. There’s no more fun than teasing someone.
“sh-shut up, I’m not afraid of it” She said trying to be brave and immediately sat down to the available sit and fastened her seatbelt then pulled down the shoulder harness. I followed her and sat down next to her.
“to see is to believe huh?, hmm interesting” I thought
After few seconds the engine of the roller coaster started and it’s slowly moving. I look to her carefully trying to know if she’s really afraid or not. She then holds tightly to her shoulder harness. When she was about to look at me I immediately look forward so that she’ll not notice that I was staring at her earlier.
“a a a AHHHHHHHH” she shouted loudly into the air.
“weeeeeeeee this is FUN!” I said trying not to laugh of her scared face.
“NO IT’S NOT, IT’S CRAZY” She shouted when the roller coaster arrived at the first drop after the lift hill and followed by a double loop then double dip.
“HAHAHA” I laughed out loud since I can’t hold it any longer. Both are interesting, this ride and Yuki-san too.
It takes few minutes before the ride ended. She quickly ran towards a corner to vomit. I followed her not just because I’m kinda worried but I also want to tease her.
“Are you alright?” I asked sarcastically
“Do I look alright?” She replied with a cute funny face.
“Hahaha, if you just saw your face Yuki, you will definitely laugh at yourself” I put my hand trying not to burst myself into laughing crazily.
“shut up” She said kinda embarrassed.
“let’s go grab some food, I’m hungry” I said then grabs her hand and made my way to a near restaurant inside the amusement park.
“her hand is warm and soft”
We sat down in the right corner of the restaurant and looked at the menu.
“what do you want?” She asked me while I’m still looking at the menu.
“uhmm spaghetti, mango shake and for dessert, chocolate velvet cake” I said putting the menu on the table.
“Waiter” She raised her right hand to get the attention of the waiter. He quickly walked towards our direction and asked what our order is.
“2 spaghetti, 2 mango shakes and 2 chocolate velvet cake please” politely she said it to the waiter.
“please wait for your order ma’am” he bowed at us and went to get our order.
“I have to use the c.r” She said and I nodded then she walked to where the C.R is located.
After her figure vanished, a girl suddenly popped out then sat down to where Yuki was seating earlier.
“Mayu” she called my name but I don’t know her at all.
“who are you? Why do you know my name?” I asked her making her surprised for a second.
“you forgot about me, I see. Well I can’t blame you, because of the trauma of the accident you saw” She said to me like she knows everything about
me.
*meanwhile*writer’s POV*
“jurina, Yuki just finished using the toilet. She’s now washing her hands. You have 2 more minutes left. Tap the mini microphone once if you hear me” Rabutan who just went out in the restaurant’s toilet said through her earpiece. Jurina then tapped her mini microphone who once.
*Back to Mayu’s POV
“do I know you? Do you know everything about me?” I asked her but she stood up and about to walk away but she paused midway.
*Writer’s POV
“Jurina, minute and a half left, Yuki detected, she just came out from the comfort room door. You’ve got 30 seconds left to give the message to Mayu” Jl who is in the other side of the restaurant and currently hacking the cctv cam of the restaurant informed through her earpiece.
*Back to Mayu’s POV
“I know almost everything about you, if you want to know more about yourself meet me in the starbucks in shibuya district. Meet me during lunch time. Don’t tell anyone even Yuki about this meeting we had today and tomorrow’s meeting too. ” with those words said, she then left the premises.
I saw Yuki walking towards the table. She is staring at the person I was talking earlier.
“who is she?” she asked with curiosity
“Don’t tell anyone even Yuki about this meeting we had today and tomorrow’s meeting too”
“I don’t know, she was just asking if I saw a little boy roaming around the restaurant. Maybe it’s her little brother and got lost” I lied. It’s not that I don’t trust her; I just want to know my whole self before telling her who exactly I am.
“oh I see” She replied.
I’m now trying to think who that girl is. What is she to me? I want to force myself to remember my past.
“we’re going home first, ja ne Mayu-chan”
“Ja ne Nezumi, tomorrow we’ll be coming again to your house and eat breakfast with you!”

“ahhh, my head, it hurts” I said putting my hands on my head. This is driving me crazy. The pieces slowly going back to its original places and little by little, I’m remembering the ME before I forgot some of my memories.
“hey, are you ok?” Yuki asked then stood up from where she was sitting and sat right next to me.
“drink this” she added then gave me a glass of water for me to drink.
“are you alright? Did you remember anything?” She asked while brushing my back up and down.
“no-nothing, I just remembered the dream I had earlier” I lied once again.
“are you sure?” She asked worriedly
“yeah, sorry for making you worried” I reassured
“Jurina” I whispered while looking at the door of the restaurant. Now I remember her, I remember them.
“did you say something?” She asked. She must heard me murmured something.
“oh nothing, I said let’s eat” I replied and start digging my meal for her not to get suspicious behind my actions.
After eating and resting, we continue riding the rides that the amusement park offers. We really have fun, sharing laughter together. I had fun teasing her while she didn’t complain at all. She bought me clothes for me to wear. She’s one of a kind I swear.
I woke up early, and I was kinda surprised that I’m already in the room and also that there’s someone hugging me.
“ehhh?” I said when I turned to face who that person is hugging me from behind.
“Yuki” I whispered. She’s still sleeping like a child. I stared her for awhile while caressing her warm and soft cheeks with my cold hands.
“good morning Yuki” I whispered but still the girl beside me is still sleeping. I decided to prepare a breakfast for her and also an obento for her to eat during lunch time. It’s the least thing she could do for the great help you had given. Minutes had passed and Yuki woke up and breakfast. We had a little breakfast conversation too and after that I give her the obento and then send her off to her work.
“now it’s time for me to prepare for today’s meeting with Jurina” I said to myself then headed to the shower.
~meeting place : lunch time ~
I saw Jurina who is waiting for me patiently inside the café. Without hesitation, I then opened the door and sat opposite to her.
“yo”
“yo”
“what do you want to drink?” She asked me
“mocha cookie crumble frap and brownies” I said
“your order in this café really haven’t change at all” She smiled then walk to the counter to take our orders. Few minutes she get back and now holding 2 frap and 2 brownies.
“so I’ll introduce myself to you Mayu, I’m—“
“Jurina” I said not waiting to finish her sentence.
“I remember you and the others too. I forced myself to remember all but I couldn’t. Now tell me what really did happen, to my mother and to my father. Those are the two remaining pieces of my puzzled memories that I vaguely remember” I stated.
“where should I start?” Jurina who seems having a hard time trying to figure out where should she start the story, scratches her head. I just keep silent, waiting patiently.
“to be honest” she said then inhaled deeply before releasing the last words that will complete her sentence.
“you’re parents are no longer alive” I was shocked and couldn’t believe her words. Then she started to tell the story of what happened that night, when my mother was killed by those men and also my dad’s story.
As she continued explaining and telling the story, image keeps flashing in my mind one after another. My memories of my past, I’ve regained it but a fragment of hatred is now created inside my heart.
I saw what happened to my mother, but to my father, to be killed by a police officer, I didn’t know.
“who, who’s that police officer that killed my father?” I asked trying to control my anger. I know that the organization already knew who’s that person is but before Jurina could tell me the person’s name. I saw a familiar face running away. It’s one of the guys who were there at that night. I quickly get up and followed that guy for revenge.
“Mayu wait!” I heard Jurina shouted my name and I know she’s following me.
Too much from running I finally cornered the guy in a dark messy corner. With hatred burning in my eyes, with anger inside my heart I immediately throw a punch to that guy.
“you brat! How dare you punch my face!” the man shouted angrily to me and throws a punch but to his dismay it didn’t landed to his target. I quickly grab his hand and twisted it behind his back making him shriek in pain.
“who are you?” He asked
“who’s that guy? The guy who killed my mother,Who is he?” I asked
“What do you mean?”
“you know what I mean” I shouted with anger. I hold his hair then bang his head towards the wall making his forehead bleed.

He throws a punch when he finally realizes who I am using his free hand but luckily I’m faster than he is and dodges the attack. I then kicked his stomach making him bend because of pain then hit his back using my elbow making him fall into the ground. I then made the guy face me and sat on his stomach and punch his face several times.
“TELL ME WHO IS HE!” I shouted to the guy who is now bleeding badly.
“K-k-kawashima J-Jun” He said while trying to breathe enough air.
I then saw a metal tube near and decided to pick it up but when I was about to hit it to the man’s body Jurina appeared and interrupted my doings.
“Mayu! That’s enough!” she shouted
After hearing those words, I was back to the normal me. I couldn’t believe of what I did to this man. Laying unconsciously, taking a bath with his blood.
“sorry I was carried away by my emotions” I apologized to Jurina who is putting her gloves to help me remove my fingerprints on that tube.
“It must be hard for you but remember that we don’t kill anyone. Our organization is made not to bring terror but peace” She said while taking out a cutter from her pocket. She then opens the man’s mouth and engraved the symbol of our group on his tongue. She then left a cut a little bit on the guy’s head.
It’s one rule that every group must engrave their symbols to the people or group that they have encountered. It’s like a mark that they are part or evidence to our own investigation.
“Sorry” I bowed
“it can’t be help. You’re suffering right now and it’s normal to build hatred inside your heart but we know you’ll overcome this one since you are our leader and ohhh this is my little revenge of what they or this person did to your mom” Jurina smiled at me
“but ahhh even though you have a small and body, you really did a great job with this man. Scary Mayu tsk tsk” she added while looking at the person I beaten.
“you’re scary too in your own way Jurina.. ahhhh SHIT! We have to get out of here before police would find his body” I face palmed as I realized that what I did is sort of a crime.
We then ran and escape the crime scene.

Hi, yeah it's been long time :doh: . I know I haven't updated this fic for so long and to be honest I'm more feel comfortable writing Os but some readers pm'd me and there's some people in facebook that are still asking for an update. To those readers who are waiting for an update. This is for you guys ^_^

Chapter 08
Silence filled the air as I and Jurina are walking back to the Headquarters to give a report and also to plan and find the one who killed my father. I never thought hatred and anger will make me the kind of person earlier when I fought to that man. I should never lose my composure not until I can find and beat into pulp the person behind this case.
“neh Mayu?” Jurina suddenly breaks the silence making me snap out of my thoughts. I turned around to face her. She wants something, an answer, and I think I already know the unspoken question.
“if you’re going to ask me how I am then I’ll be lying if I say I’m fine” I said turning around and continued walking. I don’t want to discuss about that topic coz it will just tear my heart into pieces though it’s already been already into pieces.
“you know what, it’s fine to cry sometimes, to ease the pain. It will make you a wee bit better you know” With concerned voice she suggested.
I know crying will make a person feel a little better coz I’ve done it already, a lot of times to be exact, but right now crying and sulking is not an option anymore. All I have to do is stand up, grow up and fight.
“we’re here” not responding to her suggestion I said as we stand in front of the headquarters, the headquarters that is full of memories of my parents.
Giving a deep sigh, I step forward but before I could enter the premises, a hand tap my shoulder and whispered.
“everything will be fine, just trust us, your members” Jurina gives me a reassurance smile then entered the building but stop halfway.
“Stop standing there and get inside, your members are waiting” She shouted and I just nodded. I still feel lucky coz I’ve got them, my memb—No, My friends.
“Thank you” the only words that I was able to mutter.
Passing through a lot of doors and people who bowed and greeted us feels so nostalgic. I’ve been out from here for just few days but it made me miss this place. After few minutes of walking and riding the elevator, we arrived in the place that I’ve missed the most. The cool familiar door , these corridors that we make as a running lane when tried to compete who is fastest and those people who are behind that door, I’ve missed it, I really do. An upward curve can be seen in my face as memories go back and can’t help it to still feeling lucky to have them.
“we’re here” Jurina said giving me a smile then puts her hand in the box located in the right side of the door. The box then scanned her hand and approved her identity. The door then slide wide open and a sudden pop from party poppers pop out making me a bit surprised.
There standing with big smiles, my friends, my valuable friends that I don’t want to lose. Friends that I want to protect even if I’ll risk my life.
A familiar person walk towards my direction and smiled.
“Okaeri, Nezumi”
“Tadaima, Sadist-san”
“Okaeri Nezumi!!!!!”
“Tadaima, Jl, Rabutan”
“Now, now, Your group is complete well not really since the other one is still in an going mission which will help you from solving this case” Sadist-san claps her hands to gain our attention since these two, Jl and Rabutan keeps hugging me.
“well about that, can we now start the meeting and” I said then give a stare to Sadist-san who is still standing in our room.
“alright, I’ll leave, you still didn’t change Nezumi. Why you don’t want me to interfere and listen to your plan?” Sadist give small sighed then gave me an envelope.
“Here, that consists of some reports and documents from your Dad, I bet the other and most confidential and most important documents are in your hands” She then bid her goodbye and walk out from the room.
Now my friends are already gathered and sat down in their respective chairs. I, in the other hand read the documents that Sadist-san gave and think of an effective plan.
“As you all now, we will be handling this case, the case that Asahi Mamoru left. No matter what, we must solve this case. To be honest I still don’t know where the other parts of the document that will give us light of who really is the man behind the case 4 years ago and the case of Asahi Mamo--- No, the case of my family. I only have the key to the safe locker where the documents is being kept other than that I don’t have the idea on where to find that particular locker” I said directly without even wasting a second.
“About that, we’ve got a clue but we couldn’t find the answer as the clue is not really our field of expertise since it’s your field” Rabutan gets up and get something in the evidence locker.
“here, take a look carefully” Jl who is wearing gloves put the item below the microscope for me to see.
“There’s something written on that bullet that our missing member gave to us”
“L E S U O R H Y C I I A K N B” I said the letters that is engraved in the bullet.
“Behind those letters will be an answer to one of our questions, so we’ll leave the deciphering the text part to you” Jurina said since she knows I love deciphering texts.
“alright” I smirked then continued the meeting.
“Man X is the one who is behind the case 4 years ago and there’s no doubt that he’s still the one behind the case that we have right now. Base to what my mum said, finding the documents that my dad hidden is our top priority right now. I’ll decipher the text as soon as I can and give you the answer. For now, Can I ask you some questions?” I want to ask some important questions that’s been bothering me for long now.
“What?” Jl said giving me a vibes that she already knows what the first question I want to ask.
“Who killed my father?” without hesitation I asked them. I know it’s painful to ask this question but if I won’t do it then I can’t move on.
“About that, we can’t still give you a 100% sure answer. We are still currently trying to find your dad’s body and then run an autopsy just to be sure about the cause” Rabutan whose expertise is in forensic science and also working in autopsy department stated.
It’s a rule that the cause must be confirmed 100% before revealing the killer’s name. It’s just a way not to complicate things and also to avoid involving unrelated parties.
“yeah, base to the data we have gathered. There are two possibilities about the cause of your father’s case” Jl who is part of the technology team and hacking team stated.
“I’ve also been in contact to our missing member and her conclusion even falls to what Jl and Rabutan said” Jurina who is the same team as me, who gathers information and data outside the field said.
“why?” I asked as I’m still quite confused as why it takes too long to confirm the cause.
“well as you know that the last member of this group, Ren--- no Gekikara is still doing her undercover in the police department. She was in the crime scene when all of those things happened. Right through her eyes, your father falls down. There are two possibilities that killed your father” Jurina explained further to lessen my confusion.
“first possibility is the policewoman who shot your father and the second possibility is poison” Rabutan added while reading a paper, maybe from her department.
“poison? Don’t tell me?” I was quite shock that our opponent are quite strong and well, smart.
“yup. Your father was having his undercover investigation in one of the main organization of that man that we are currently trying to find right? And as what we’ve heard from Sadist-san, the investigation your father was in is difficult that one fatal mistake can end his life. In that main organization, they are working in the department of illegal drugs and chemicals so there are no ways they can’t think about an idea how to control their members” Jl stated. Base on what she said, it makes me think of how really big the organization we are trying to destroy is.
“Gekikara saw a man standing behind the cargo before your father shot her right through her arm to give us a clue that was encrypt in the bullet. She can’t see him clearly as it’s dark but she’s sure that the man is holding something like a remote control, like one click can end someone’s life” Jurina added making the whole theory a lot more sense about having two possibilities.
“so there’s a possibility that they let my dad drink a well designed poisonous capsule and when his true identity was exposed that man behind the cargo triggered the control making the poison released from the capsule” Putting the pieces together, I said my own theory while everyone just nod.
“so at that time was a battle with time. Either who’s the first one who triggered their own weapon” I added trying not to think how much torture my dad went through.
“From the technology and hacking department, we already confirmed that there’s a man behind those cargos. Lucky for us that there’s a cctv camera near there but since it’s dark we can’t really see his face. All we have to do is to wait for the autopsy department to release their results when they already ran an autopsy to Asahi Mamoru-san body” Jl added some information to the data that her department had gathered.
“looks how lucky we are” Rabutan in the other hand stood up with a smile and walks towards me.
“why?” I asked.
“Asahi Mamoru-san body is now in our hands, it will arrive here tomorrow and we can already run an autopsy. We can now find the right answer” She said while reading the text on her phone maybe was sent by one of the members in her department.
“that’s cool. We can now have an exact answer and can add to our evidence and data to this case” Jl said while opening her laptop.
“By the way, are you coming tomorrow? Well to see him?” Jurina suddenly asked which made me surprise. I wasn’t thinking about that, in fact I’m not ready to see him especially in that kind of state. It’s just too much to bear.
“No, I don’t have the right to see him right now not until I can solve this case that he left for me” I said coldly. Of course I really do want to see him but I know I can’t handle the pain. I’ve already step forward and I already promised that no matter what, I’ll give them the justice that they need until then I’m not allowed to visit them.
“Bu—“ before hearing their loud protests, I interrupted.
“meeting is now adjourned, we can’t meet tomorrow as Rabutan will be doing her job and Jl and Jurina, I’ve got job for you guys to work. Jl you need to gather data about the man called Kawashima Jun, he’s the leader of the gang who killed my mum and Jurina will do the outfield work. I’ll try to decipher the text. The day after tomorrow will be the next meeting, I hope we can get a lot of data and evidence that can solve these mysteries. That’s all” Being their leader, I gave them the assignments where they can use their expertise to the highest level.
“Hai”
“Ja ne~ and it’s nice seeing you guys again” I said with a smile and bowed then leave the room. Not long after another figure leave the room and I know who it is.
“What do you want Jurina?” I turned around seeing Jurina smiling sheepishly.
“ehto, I think you need to go to clinic to clean your wounds” She pointed at my hands and she’s right, it’s quite bleeding but it’s weird that I didn’t feel much pain.
“I’ll come with you if that’s fine?” She added. As I remember that I haven’t ask a certain question that I was supposed to ask in the meeting. I nodded and let her accompany me to the clinic.
“neh Jurina?” I said softly
“what?” she tilted her head waiting for me to continue.
“how did you guys find me?” I’m curious on how; especially it’s not just a coincidence that they found me in the amusement park.
“Rena went to the bait that Sadist-san had planned. We know that the gang who attack you will try to find you and execute you since you were there in the crime scene. You are the only one who had those important documents too that makes your life more in danger so Sadist-san come up with that plan to protect you and to track those people who are behind those things” she explains while we both walking to where the clinic is.
“then what is Rena doing in the place where the bait is located?” I asked trying to get more information about it.
“you are living with a girl named Kashiwagi Yuki-san right?” She asked and I just nodded.
“well Kashiwagi Yuki-san is Rena’s partner in the police department. Kashiwagi-san asked favour to Rena to find and gather some data to a girl named Watanabe Mayu. Yes, that’s you Nezumi. After reading the document that Kashiwagi-san gave, Rena quickly informed us that there’s a possibility that this girl named Watanabe Mayu that’s written in the document is you so she gave us the number plate of the car that Kashiwagi-san owned. Jl on the other hand tried to track the car and that’s why we manage to track you in the restaurant in amusement park. Rena who is trying also to confirm that it was you gather her own data, went to where the bait is. Hearing the head of the orphanage words, she confirmed her theory a 100% true. Knowing that the orphanage is on our side she gave her name just to let Sadist-san know that she already found you” Jurina explained further.
Hearing the explanation made me let a giggle and earned a confused look from the taller girl

“what’s funny?” She pouted
“nothing, it’s just that I never thought this Idiot group which I’m holding do have some impressive skills” I teasingly said earning a protest from Jurina.
“tsk, we are not idiots Nezumi, don’t underestimate your group!” She pouted even more while crossing her arms.
Looking at each other for a while an upward curve then plastered in our faces and not long after, a bursting laugh can be heard throughout the corridors making some of the people turning their head to our direction.
“but it’s really nice you’re already here, the brain of our group” She smiled
“thanks for finding me and bringing back my memories” I bowed then went inside the door known to be the clinic department. After cleaning my wound I bid my goodbye and went home.
I looked around and Yuki is not yet home. I decided to do some chores and cook food since it’s the only thing I can do to pay for her kindness towards me.
Few hours had passed and the door opened revealing the familiar figure that adopted me and took care of me.
“I’m home” She said while taking off her shoes and put it nicely in the shoe rack.
After hearing her voice I welcomed her then told her that dinner is ready. Looking at her she must be tired from the mess I caused earlier, I mean to the man I beat up. I saw her eyes locked in my hands with bandage and I know just a mere second her priceless reaction will be seen once again.
“hey what happened to your hands?”
There you go again, those reaction never cease to amuse me.
“nah it’s nothing. I was washing the clothes earlier using my hands since the washing machine isn’t functioning” I wasn’t lying and I’m lucky enough that the washing machine broke down right after I finished the last pile of laundry.
“are you alright? Did you put medicines to your wounds?” she asked me. I mentally facepalmed as I never thought Yuki would be so stupid sometimes. Of course I put medicines already right since I already put some bandages.
“I’m fine, I’m fine don’t worry and yeah I already applied some medicines to the wound” I smiled trying my hardest not to laugh.
Thanking me for doing the chores, she smiled and I thought the subject had already dropped about the bandages but a new question once again is being asked making me shock a little bit.
“by the way Mayu what are you doing in Starbucks?” She questions curiously trying to examine me.
I need to do my best to act cool. I need to apply what I’ve learned in our acting lesson in the headquarters.
“gomene Yuki if I’ll lie to you” a small voice can be heard in my head before saying something that not even true.
“ahhh you saw me? I was trying to apply for a job but then they said I need experience in being a barista. I’m kinda pissed off you know I mean like how can I get experience if they won’t accept me” I stood up trying to act like complaining. I can’t really give lots of expression so I made the dishes as my props and put them in the sink so that Yuki won’t see my face.
Hoping she didn’t get suspicious to me, I closed my eyes and pray to Kami-sama. It’s the first time I apply this kind of act in real life situation since before, we really don’t work in a big outer field not like now.
“you don’t have to look for a job” She said. I almost sighed in a relief but lucky that I didn’t or else she’ll be suspicious.
I tried to persuade her until she sighed into defeat and agreed for me to find a job. She then said good night as she’s tired from work and quickly went to her room to take a rest.
I then turned off the lights from kitchen and living room then went straight to my room to do the things I have to do.
“now let’s do this” I stretched my arms before writing the words that was engraved and encrypted.

I tried a lot of hard Cryptography methods but still couldn’t find the answer. I’ve been solving this code for an hour already but the answer is still nowhere to be found until.
“AHH! My dad always thought I’m still a kid so he will give code that’s not really hard to decipher” I was thinking with some method that are easy until one method came into mind and tried it.
“I know the answer” I said with a smile of victory. I then texted Jurina and the rest what’s the answer and planning to go there tomorrow.
“I’ll make you proud of me” I whispered while holding tightly the key necklace that I am wearing.
The next day I prepared food again for Yuki and then went out to go to where the documents are being kept. Jurina, who was so annoying last night saying she wants to go with me, accompanied me today.
“here we are” I said gaining an “eh” face from the said girl.
“this is so old locker building for an important document to hide” Jurina blurted out as she can’t believe how an important document being kept in a run-down locker room building.
“simple as people might think that an important document will be hidden in such a high security place so there’s a high possibility that our opponent is trying to find this document in such a place where a lot of security personnel are on the look” I stated as some kind of people with such kind of mentality will really think about that.
“well you are quite right, I would never think such an important document will be hidden here, as expected from Asahi Mamoru-san and Nezumi. You guys are really father and daughter” Jurina grinned and went inside to the run-down building.
I then followed her inside and tried to find the number.
“Neh, how come you know that this is the right place even though the text doesn’t really give you the exact location, you even know the locker number” Jurina once again asked trying also to find the number.
“It’s part of my memories. I used to play as my father’s right hand and he always leave important documents here as part of my training. He always says that sometimes you have to put such important things to such a common place without even a high security. In that kind of thinking people will not be that suspicious that you hide that in this kind of place” I stated while flashback of my past are running through my mind.
“you were really trained to be a good leader and to be the brain of the group and because of that I feel relieved that you are our leader of the group” Jurina sincerely said.
“no, I still have lots of things to learned and have to experience before you can say that I’m worth enough to be your leader” I replied. I know my capabilities and to be honest I still have a long way to go before I can lead this group better than now.
“Found it!” A joyful exclaimed can be heard from Jurina who is signalling me to come to her side.
I took a deep breath before opening the locker; Jurina saw it and just whispered,
“Gambare”
Encourage then gathered in my soul and quickly took off my key necklace and open the locker.
There inside a brown envelope, an envelope that will give light to the darkness we are all inside.
Reading the contents of the documents while sitting on floor, I closed my eyes as a long battle is waiting for us that might risk my friends’ life.
“Nezumi” I heard Jurina’s voice as I’m still deciding if I’ll continue this or not.
“I can’t risk everyone’s life with this, I can’t risk your lives Jurina” I said trying to come to the decision that I might do this case alone.
“and do you think we can just stand in the corner watching you doing those risky things alone? Trying to sacrifice yourself with a small chance of winning? We are your friends and we won’t abandon you. We know you’ll make a plan that will make everyone safe, we know that and we can trust you right?” Jurina who’s trying to hold back her tears from my stupid decision shouted.
“bu—“ Before I can speak she interfere.
“your parents have done a lot of things to us, doing this is the only thing we can to pay them back. I know you just want to protect us but we also want to protect you. As a team we should solve this case” Jurina stood up while reaching her hands towards me.
She’s right, we are team and I should be the one who will believe in their strengths more than anyone else.
“Alright, tell Jl and Rabutan we have an abrupt meeting” I hold her hands and let her pull me up.
“I promise I won’t put you guys in danger” I said with a smile.
“I expected you to say that” she smiled back then pulls out her cell phone and sends message to the other members.
Few hours later, the members are now gathered to the meeting area.
Jurina distributed a photocopy of the documents that we’ve got in the locker and waited for everyone to finish reading it. For the first time I allowed Sadist-san to attend our meeting.
“as you can see our opponent is a big fish in Japan which is so powerful. 5 main organizations with 10 sub-organizations, that’s a pretty big numbers of unknown opponents. I summoned you guys for this abrupt meeting to give you a choice whether you’ll continue being a member of this team or you prefer to be assigned to other case that is safer than this one. There’s a 100% chance that you have to risk your life doing this case so I’ll understand if you’ll back out now since I don’t want you guys to risk your life” I stated the most important topic about this meeting.
“I’m in”

“Rena and I are in too”
“I’ll give more back up if you need”
Everyone agree to be still part on the team even Rena who is phone agreed.
“You guys will be all under my care, I’ll give my best to protect you” I said and bowed gaining a chuckle from them.
“Never thought that you are so formal when holding a meeting like this one” Sadist-san blurted out making the others laugh even more.
“I'm just concern about your safety” I said glaring them intensely.
“Hai, hai, since we are already here, I’ll report the data that I’ve gathered” Jl said and opened her laptop and connect it to a projector for us to see in the widescreen.
“Kawashima Jun , 36 years old, leader of one of the sub-unit organization” She said while flashing a picture of the said man.
I formed my hand into fist trying to lessen my anger.
“He has a total of 150 members and they are basically the one who hold the illegal gambling and do some of cleaning part. The day after tomorrow he will meet his boss, I think it’s nice to ambush him after his meeting and try to him to spill out their motive and next plan” Jl suggested gathered with a nod from everyone.
“in my part, I can’t still give a full report since the results hasn’t come out yet, will do inform you guys when we are already 100% sure” Rabutan reported.
“prepare yourself the day after tomorrow as it will be the first official battle we will have versus our big fish opponent. Rabutan, you’ll be the look out and information teller outside the said premises. Jl you have to hack so cctv inside and outside the premises. Jurina and I will go inside trying to follow his movement. When the target is already out of the building, we will try to corner him and let him reveal their plan. And Sadist-san I just need some of your men to be there just in case things will be out of my control. Don’t let them interfere with my plan not until I’ll say so. You guys get it?” I said raising my voice in the last part of my speech.
“I’ll prepare a well establish and more accurate plan tomorrow for our meeting. That’s it, you can now leave” I added
“Yokai!” Everyone said then left the meeting room leaving me all alone.
I went near the window to watch the blue sky and whispered
“the battle has begun”

Chapter 09
Never noticing that I’m already standing for, who knows how long, in Yuki’s apartment, I slap my face to wake up from a deep thought. On my way here, I was trying to think for a good plan for the first battle. Sighing deeply, I step forward and open the door revealing a dark, empty room.
“She’s not yet home” I whispered while looking at my wristwatch.
It’s already half past 6. Maybe she’s too busy with the cases she’s holding which I’m the one who causes it in the first place. I directly went to kitchen and prepared a good dinner for her. I usually cook food for her, say it breakfast or dinner or preparing her bento, all of them, I always do it for her. After doing all the household chores that need to be done, I glance again in my wristwatch revealing a time that indicates that it’s already late at night. Thinking that I still haven’t made any plans for tomorrow’s meeting, I get a sticky note and write something on it.
“Don’t forget to reheat and eat it.”
Then I placed it in the table near the untouched cold food. Before leaving the kitchen, I take a quick look if everything is fine and clean then immediately went to my room upstairs.
"Let’s get this shit started.” I smile then plop myself into the comfortable couch in my room then open my laptop but before I could type a few words, my phone suddenly rung.
“Hello?” I said with a wee bit irritated voice
“Sorry for calling you at this hour Mayu.” the person who’s on the other line said with a quite rush voice.
“What is it Jurina?” I questioningly asked.
“About Kawashima Jun, plans will be change. He’ll be going to United Kingdom tomorrow and will be back 2 days after tomorrow, probably to have a trade of illegal drugs there.” Jurina said the information she and the team had gathered.
“What a pain, alright, tomorrow 8am in the meeting room. Let’s come up with a new plan.” I said then ended the call. I let out a deep sigh then stared in the ceiling while rising up my right hand in the air.
“Can I really protect them? Her? Are we really good enough to survive this battle? With all of their trust towards me. Can I really come up with a plan that will give us a big chance to win?” random questions started to pop up inside my head.
I clenched my right hand and placed it carefully in my eyes to wipe my tears away.
“Can I make you both proud?” I whispered still in my previous position.
“I hope I won’t get lost in this path and fall into the darkness, please lead me the right way” I said while flashbacks of happy memories with my family keep coming back in my mind.
The birds are chirping merrily outside the window. The Sun’s rays are touching my skin. Hearing and feeling these things makes me realize that there’s always a new day that brings a new hope and light.
“I didn’t notice that I fell asleep. I forgot to come up with a plan, well that doesn’t even matter. I’ll just think a good one while I’m on my way to the headquarters and just revise it when I finish reading and listening to what they’re going to say” I said while yawning and stretching my sleepy muscles.
I quickly prepare breakfast for Yuki and bento too for her break later at her work. Then took a shower and went outside. After an hour or so, I arrived in the headquarters 30 minutes early than what time we’ve agreed on. Making that time I’ve got in hands useful, I opened the documents then read it once again.
This document, if I combine this with the document that Sadist-san got will still remain incomplete. A piece is missing and probably that was burnt down alongside with him with that car accident. That’s why my father decided to take a dangerous path, to be an undercover agent and try to capture the mastermind of this case just to get concrete evidence that will put him down and probably so that it will be hard to cover up the said evidence. Hmmm but reading this document already gives us the person’s identity even profiling will suit him to the characteristics written down in here. Did he give the key to me coz he knows that I can easily understand the situation? By any chance he believes in my strength and skills and doesn’t treat me as a kid anymore? By leaving this kind of incomplete evidence, will give me a chance to prove to other people here in this headquarters that I can be like with my parents?Thinking these kinds of things gives me fighting spirit and for a moment I let out a smile.
“I won’t lose to this battle, definitely. Even if I have to cut his throat, I’ll do it haha just kidding” I giggled about the joke I made in the last sentence.
It’s not that I can’t do it but we are not allowed to and I don’t want to. Simple as I know that I, no we can catch him, alive. Few minutes passed by and one by one the members arrived in the meeting room. Sitting to their desired seat while wearing a serious face, I giggled garnering a weird look from them.
“What?” I said while trying to hold my laughter.
“Why are you laughing at this serious time?” Rabutan asked while opening her laptop.
“Well you guys are so serious which makes me laugh hahahaha” I couldn’t hold it anymore and bursted into laughter until the door open revealing the last person we were waiting for.
“Sadist-san you’re late” Jurina said and stood up then smack me in the head using the book she had on her hand.
“Itai!” I scratch the place where the book landed and went back to serious mode.
The atmosphere suddenly changed into seriousness. Silence filled the air for a moment to give each of them a chance to think and breathe coz once we start this meeting, there’s no turning back anymore.
“Meeting will start now.” I said then looked at to Jl indicating to start and tell us about the full information she got about Kawashima Jun.
“As you all already heard last night, plans related to Kawashima will be changed and be canceled for 2 days as he’s already on his way to UK to have an illegal deal with some people there. A high possibility that it will be drug dealing” she stated and waited for a question to be asked.
“So do we need to follow him to UK and gather some evidence about the said deal? Or should we just wait for him to come back?” Rabutan who raised her hand first asked the question.
“I talked about that matter to Sadist-san last night coz as far as I remember there’s an elite group that was formed for just a particular case.” Jl answered Rabutan’s question.
I on the other hand am trying to analyze the information and put them in the right order.
“I get it.” I said in a low voice but still can be heard enough to them.
Everyone looked at me, waiting patiently for me to continue what I said and let them know what I had on mind well except for one person though which is Sadist-san.
“Correct me if I’m wrong Sadist-san but is there any chance that this newly formed elite group is checkmate? Takahashi Minami-san’s group whom you sent to UK to investigate a drug dealing that’s happening there led by an unknown Japanese and British people?” I asked looking at her directly.
“As expected from you. Yeah it’s Takamina’s group along side with Acchan, Yuko, Kojima and Miichan. So there’s no need for you guys to go to UK to follow Kawashima coz it will be Takamina’s group job to find evidence then arrest the gang that will take part of the said dealing” She said while typing something on her laptop.
(Takahashi Minami a.k.a Checkmate – Leader of the elite group who usually corners her prey a swift move, then without noticing the case is solved for an instant, like checkmate in the game chess.
Maeda Atsuko a.k.a Silentium – a silent type girl but with a refined skills, she silently captures her enemy without even making a single sound.
Oshima Yuko a.k.a Manipulator – the one who usually manipulates and gives false information to the enemy. She’s professional in making and putting some traps.
Kojima Haruna a.k.a Seducer – well because of her body she usually the one who seduces the target, it’s not that she’s trying hard to do that, it’s just natural that they easily fooled by the airhead girl.
Minegishi Minami a.k.a Magnet –she gathers information quickly with so much sources in her hands. She also have an absolutely above level regarding to computers and gadgets.)
“But if they arrest them will they include Kawashima and some of his men?” Jurina asked. Well it will be hard for us if Kawashima will be arrested now coz we still need him.
“About that we won’t do that, but we need a plan and we need your help with that as my members here are pre occupied and couldn’t have a chance to have a proper plan for that matter.” a voice suddenly spoke.
Sadist’s san then turned around her laptop revealing Takamina who’s in video call with Sadist-san through Skype.
It’s been a long time Takamina-san.” I said then all of us bowed.
“Yeah it’s been awhile so I’ll leave the plan up to you Nezumi, I’ll be listening to this meeting by the way.” Takamina said with a big grin plastered on her face.
“What time do you think he’ll be in UK JL?” I asked trying to come up with a plan that will be good enough for both of our group and Takamina’s group.
“Probably later this afternoon. When they get in there, there’s a chance they’re going to prepare for tomorrow’s deal.” JL said while reading the information she got.
“What are your plans Takamina-san on capturing the gang there?” Gathering enough information will make a solid plan.
“We’ll be out few hours from now to prepare what we need. We’ll also go to the meeting place to put some devices and also maybe to put some trap if things gets worse. We’ll also be on the lookout in the said premises tomorrow evening where the meeting will be held then wait for the dealing to be done to gather a concrete proof to capture them. If the plan is not involving the other party in the dealing then we don’t have a choice but to wait for them to get back to their dugout and then corner them there then arrest them, of course with the help of police.” Takamina said looking at the paper maybe where their plan is written down.
“Is there any chance to delay the arrest plan for 12 hours maximum?” Hearing Takamina’s plan, an idea popped out.
“Let’s hear your thoughts Nezumi” Sadist-san said while Takamina just nodded.
“If you’re going to arrest them possibly 2 hours after the meeting then it will be no good for our side. When the other party hears what happened there then they will be more cautious than before and we can’t properly stakeout Kawashima right when he gets back in here. If it’s fine for you we’ll both the gang and Kawashima at exactly the same time” I said what I think the most accurate plan right now.
“Jl, what time does Kawashima’s meeting with that person your source had gathered?” Takamina asked as what matter the most right now is time.
“Around 11am, 5am there in your side” Jl replied
“Cool, 5am then. We’ll arrest them while they’re sleeping soundly. Rabutan, you’ll be the one who will give us signal when you guys already start your move. Now I have to go” Takamina said then ended up the call.
“Yokai” Rabutan just answer though Takamina can’t hear her anymore.
“Now the plan will be like this. Jl, hack all the camera system where Kawashima will pass by and try following him using that, hack his gps too just to be sure. Rabutan you’ll be with Jl since you are the informative to Takamina’s group. Jurina and I will be staking out Kawashima right when he steps his feet in the airport. We’ll try to follow him to where he is going coz the chance is high that he will go directly to meet his boss. Maybe it will be the mastermind of this case or other boss that still connected to the mastermind. Sadist-san, we need a car and well a driver too for this mission. Could you lend us a hand? and also could you give an order for some of your men that have free time on their hands to infiltrate and arrest the other members of Kawashima’s gang. Their hideout is quite far from Rena’s headquarters so other jurisdiction will take a hold with that case” I said the plan clearly for them to understand.
“I already commanded 5 groups to be on standby and wait for further notice to take out Kawashima’s gang. I’ll give them the details later and the time. There’s also 1 group that will assist you guys tomorrow just in case both side will bring a lot of their members. I’ll be your driver too so that I can guide you when thing gets worse” Sadist-san stated seriously.
“Alright, we have to destroy Kawashima’s gang for the other enemies to come out. Now meeting is adjourned!” I shouted but before I could leave Rabutan said something to us.
“The autopsy result are out.” Rabutan said looking at her laptop.
Someone in her department might have sent a mail to her regarding to that matter.
“Let’s hear it out.” Jurina said then went back to her seat, same with JL but Sadist-san just continued her way to the door.
“It’s part of your case, I don’t have the authority to mind your business. See you later, kids.” Sadist-san waved goodbye then walk out to the room leaving only the four of us.
"Should I call Rena?” Jurina asked as Rena is part of our group.
"Just send her an e-mail later regarding to the plan the day after tomorrow and regarding to the autopsy result. I don’t want to bother her at this time it will be dangerous at her part. Also tell her to prepare for a hard work in police department” I said.
I don’t want to bother her. Being undercover and a spy in a big organization and not to mention in the police department are really dangerous.
“Ehm! About the results, it’s been proven that the cause of Mamoru-san’s death is not the gun shot. Certainly he got hit with it but it’s just in his left arm. As we already predicted what was the cause, we are now concluded that it’s really about a certain drug that Mamoru-san drank.” Rabutan stated with a clear voice.
“You mean that well designed poisonous capsule?” Jurina confirm her thoughts.
“Yes, inside that capsule it potassium cyanide” Rabutan replied.
“But without a certain level of acidity in your stomach, that kind of thing won’t turn out successful.” JL said.
Yes we know more or less about drugs. We have to know almost all of important things related to this kind of job.
“They are drug dealers so they know a lot of things in terms of medicines. They must let their people drink Betaine Hydrochloride just to make sure that when they release the potassium cyanide into the stomach of the betrayer, it will become hydrogen cyanide. After that, you will be killed from a sudden heart attack. Am I right, Rabutan?” I turned to Rabutan who just stared at me and gave me a nod.
“Now we already know the cause, be prepared and be careful, we are dealing with illegal drug and chemical maniacs, so there’s no way they don’t have anything in their sleeves that might kill you in an instant. Let’s meet here the day after tomorrow, 5 am sharp. That’s all, dismiss!” I shouted then stood up and walked out to the room.
I felt that someone is following me so I just walk slowly and trying to corner that certain person. I then turned in my left which has quite a dark path and waited for that person. When I felt its presence I immediately grabbed its hands then pinned that person down while forcing him/her to face the cement.
“What do you need?” I asked but then release her when I notice that I know who exactly this person is.
“As always, your defense is strong, Nezumi-chan” the girl got up while dusting her dirty clothes then smiled at me.
“What do you want, Gekikara?” I asked while putting up my hood for people who might pass by won’t see my face.
“You’re not pleased to see me?” she suddenly asked while picking up her cap then place it on her head to hide the upper part of her face.
"Of course I am, but it’s dangerous if someone might see us” thinking about this situation, Gekikara might have something important to tell.
“I received Center’s email about the plan and also Rabutan’s email about the autopsy but the thing I want to talk to you isn’t related to those emails” she said then leans on the wall while crossing her arms.
"Then what is it?” I curiously asked.
“It’s about Yuki”
By just looking at my reaction, I know she’ll think 'I got her interest‘ then give me a smirk.
“What about with Yuki-chan?” I asked, hoping it won’t be that thing.
“Don’t worry, it’s not about that thing” noticing that I sighed with relief, she then continued the topic.
"She’s planning to have a surprise party for you tomorrow, more likely a belated birthday and a recovering party” she stated while walking closer to me. I just stood there with a questioning look.
“So? Why did you tell me if that will be a surprise party for me?” I said.
“Well it’s obvious, Yuki likes you Mayu not just a sister like but more than that and I know you feel the same way too. Things are complicated right now and the decision will always be up to you. No matter what your plan is, we’ll back you up” Giving a reassuring smile she then patted my shoulder then left the place.
I was left stunned in there. My brain takes longer time to analyze the situation I’m currently in.
“Why me? You shouldn’t fall in love with me, not now.” I whispered then look at the sky where the sun is quietly setting down. Closing my eyes, a tears fall down.
“I’m not worth it” I quickly wiped my tears away then continue to walk.
Thinking all the possibilities and also an answer to what Rena said, I ended up staying awake all night.
“Tonight a decision will be made which I might regret or not. It will be the best for everyone I guess.” I stood up and went a warm bath to refresh my mind.
Later this afternoon, Yuki asked me to go shopping with her and I just agreed. It will be the last that we’ll go shopping together. While walking around the mall, she often steals a quick glance to her phone. Then we decided to grab a snack because it’s still early for the surprise party and perhaps Rena and some people are still preparing some things in there. Watching her smiling face, a sharp thing pierces right through my heart. It’s painful to see the clumsy yet caring, black yet kind and with annoying reactions yet cute Yuki cry just because of me, because of the hurtful words I might say later on. I have to do this, I know I’m the person that is most aware of my feelings, yes I do love you but I have to let you go to protect you.
“Mayu! You’ve been staring at me for awhile, is there something on my face?” You suddenly wake me up in my deep thoughts.
“Nothing, it’s just that you’re big eater that’s why you’re getting fatter” I laughed not because of the thing I said but her reaction to my statement.
“You’re cruel Mayu! I’m not fat!” You pouted cutely, maybe that’ll be the last time I’ll see that and maybe I’ll be the reason that sooner or later you’re going to wear a sad smile.
“Let’s go.” I said and grab her warm hands. At least I did hold your hands. We went inside to an anime shop. I stared to one of my favorite anime figure so that I won’t think too much for tonight but just staring at it won’t help that much. I excused myself.
“I need to go to the CR” I said then swiftly went out the store and go inside the CR. I wash my face then stared at the mirror.
“Tonight will be the night. I’m sorry Yuki” I thought then grab a tissue then wipe my face.
After couple of minutes we decided to go home, it might be already the time for the party. Few minutes of driving we arrive then open the door. It’s too dark like in horror movie which I really do hate watching.

A sudden shout was heard saying SURPRISE! Which make me startled.
“ I really hate surprises!” I murmured to myself.
Then asking them what’s all of this and the answer is the same as what Rena told me yesterday but I never though Jurina will be here too. She didn’t tell me anything about it. These two! Gathering to the dining area, we make our self comfortable then started to introduce ourselves well not that I don’t know them at all but it’s just an act not to raise a suspicious vibes.The party started nicely, they are all having fun except for me.
“Ah there’s no more beer anymore.” Sae who is now slightly drunk said.
“I’ll get some, there’s still more in the fridge.” I said and gets up from the couch.
“I’ll help her and bring some food here too.” Jurina added and just followed me.
“So have you decided already?” Jurina suddenly asked when we got here in the kitchen.
“Yeah.” Rena might have told her about it already
“Are you sure with it?” concerned can be felt from her voice.
“I have to do this not just to protect her but because I also have the responsibility to make you guys out of this battle alive.” I grab the beers but before I can step forward, Jurina held my arm. I know she’s just trying to confirm that this decision won’t hurt me.
“Just give me shoulder to lean on when things gets tough.” I said then continued my way to the lounge.
“I will."
“That person goes by the name of Asahi Mamoru.”
Just at the time I reached the lounge I suddenly heard my father’s code name which caught me off guard and loosen my grip to the beers and made them fall unto the floor and not to mention it came out from Yuki’s lips.
“What was that?” Sae said while turning hear head towards me.
“Sorry it slipped in my hands” I said and picked up the beer cans on the floor. Yuki in the other hand said it’s fine and just helped me.
"Thanks.”
The night got deeper and most likely Sae is drunk while I know Rena and Jurina are just putting an act trying to deceive Yuki that they are already sleeping.
“Ahh we have to clean this mess.” I said while yawning. I’m not yet sleepy but I need time to gather courage and strength.
“But you are sleepy already, we can do it tomorrow, the garbage will not run anyway.” She tried to pull off a joke, to make me laugh? Maybe.
“I never thought that Yuki is a joker.” I smiled just going with the flow.
“Alright I’ll just head to the room and get some sleep then.” Inside of me already sighing deeply while telling myself it’s now or never.
“Alright good night Mayu.”
“Ah by the way Yuki” This is it. I have to do this right now. Rena I’ll leave all the things to you regarding with Yuki.
“Yes?”
“Can I ask you a favor?”
“Sure you can.”
“I know this is weird or odd or strange or whatever but...”
“But?” She said. There you go, one of the facial expression she has the I don’t like the most specially when I’m the cause behind it.
“But please don’t fall in love with me.”
“w-what?” She stuttered, I might have caught her off guard.
“PLEASE DON’T FALL IN LOVE WITH ME” I said while bowing down.
“O-of course I will not fall in love with you. You’re a girl and so am I and I’m just treating you like as my little sister, that’s all.” I know your lying, your facial expression shows it all.
“That’s good to hear. Sorry for that favor and thanks for the party, Good night.” I give her my brightest smile as when the right time she’ll see me as a different kind of person.
I then quickly run towards my room. I just can’t look into her face for a long time, it's just so painful to look at. Clenching my chest I swiftly closed the door and lean on the wall. After few hours, a feint knocked can be heard then opened my door revealing two familiar figures. I quickly stood up and fix myself.
“Is this really ok? She’s been crying at her room you know.” Jurina said while closing the door carefully.
“I can’t risk her life being with me.” I seriously said to them.
“Then are you 100% sure that she’ll be safe not being with you? Are you sure after this battle she’ll forgive you? Are you sur---“
“Jurina” Rena stopped Jurina’s continuous questions.
“Do you think being with me will give 100% chance that she’ll be safe? If you look at it, our enemy is a big man and we don’t even know some of the gangs he’s connected to. Basically there are thousands of people out there that we don’t know if they are our enemy or not and this group is only compose with 5 members, other groups are busy enough with their own cases so not being with me is safer than being with me. And when these things will come to an end and still she won’t forgive me, then it’s fine but one thing i’m sure. I’ll save her when she’s in danger, no matter what.” I just simply said. I don’t want to argue with this thing right now.
“She’s right Jurina” Rena said calming Jurina.
Then my alarm suddenly beeps indicating it’s already time to go to the headquarters.
“Center, let’s go” I said receiving a nod to the said girl. I then grab my coat and wear it.
“Nezumi” Rena said with a concerned voice.
“Gekikara, I’ll leave Yuki to your care” I said to her while reaching something towards her.
“What is this?” she asked.
“I made that necklace long time ago, there’s something inside on it that will help me protect and save Yuki when things will not run smoothly according to my plan. Please let her wear it but not now, but when we already reveal to ourselves who we are. Just come up with a good excuse why she must wear that one.” I said then grab her wrist and put the box in her hands.
“Be ready for the mess later, Rena-chan” I said then exited in the window alongside with Jurina.
“Please be careful, all of you.” Rena said while clenching the box.

Landing smoothly on the surface along side with Jurina, I steal one glance again to Yuki's apartment.
"This is not a kid's game anymore Yuki, Hate me if you want but just stay alive" I whispered then walk away.

I'd thought Mayu left Yuki cos Yuki killed her dad but it's actually more complicated than that. I'm curious as to how this is going to unfold. Seems like it will be an epic fight with Takamina, Acchan, Yuko, Kojihary and Miichan involved too. Will Yuki's uncle be involved in this?
