Title: [2012.09.19] SKE48 - 1st Album "Kono Hi no Chime wo Wasurenai"
Post by: Jul3 on July 31, 2012, 11:13:53 PM
Announced at the end of today's Team E show - SKE's 1st album will release the same day as their 10th single.

The DVD will contain 63 solo PVs - one song per member, with the song picked by the member themselves, these are not new songs, and most likely not included on the CDs...

The album itself will include all the singles, and also versions of AKB48 songs...

Asahi Shinbun article (http://www.asahi.com/showbiz/nikkan/NIK201208010017.html):

Quote
SKE48 has set for objective to have its single and album, released simultaneously, to reach 1st in charts, a feat even AKB48 never achieved. It was decided on July 31st that the 10th single and 1st original album (both titles pending) would be release on the same day : September 19th. The album will hold 14 songs, with an edition where all 63 members, 1 by 1, will feature in a music video (MV) as part of the bonus footage (tln : tokuten video). It makes no doubt that if both releases were to take  Oricon weekly charts 1st position at the same time, the sister group vigor/momentum will further speed up.

Now it all makes sense. SKE is gunning for a record that AKB hasn't done before. Gutsy move right there.  :thumbup

And it will be released the day after the janken taikai...

September 19 could be a bigger celebration/news if one (or more) member is in the janken senbatsu  :twothumbs

Seriously, as if that record mean something, AKB hasn't done before doesn't mean they can't if they did try. It's just like MM's record for 50 singles in Top10 weekly.

(For me, it would mean something if they accomplished it w/o theatre HS event for both single and album.)

Even though I agree to some extent with what you are saying, a record is a record. No matter how lame it may be. All CD sales records are relative anyway, because of the time of release, sales gimmicks and whatnot... but still. They can set a record and let's just see if someone can actually break it.

The lack of handshake event wouldn't mean anything either, because nowadays pretty much every group has release events. From the most obscure idols to the biggest groups out there, they all do it.

Anyway, I think the idea is pretty funny and that's what it's all about: entertainment. (+staying in the news)

The album itself sounds exactly like I thought it would be; a lot of singles and some bonus stuff. The 63 solo PVs does sound interesting, but I highly doubt they got to choose their own songs, lol.

Aki-P (or anyone in charge) will make these girls telling us they all choose their own songs by themselves for sure.

edit*

Just check competition on that week.

Album : Superfly and Kazuyoshi Saito (with a hit song from drama "kaseifu no mita")

Single : Porno Graffiti and Hikawa Kiyoshi

Only very little chance of upset from album side, i guess.

That list is so predetermined. Aw well, probably for the best. I remember there was a MM release where they could select their own favorite song to be added as bonus footage and it ended up having like 5x the same song (out of 9 or something)

GETS @ CDJapan (http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=AVCD-38568)

Bonus: a photo randomly selected from 63 kinds
First Press: photo book packaging   :?
Price: 4800 yen

I know making all those PVs has cost a lot of money, but 4800 yen compared to 3050 yen for AKB48's album (2CD, DVD, Poster) seems a bit steep.

Hmm... I can appreciate the originality of it, but otherwise I'm not really into that style.

The album itself is like a best of album, with some AKB48 covers. Not too exciting either, but I guess it works for new SKE48 fans.

1. 強き者よ
2. 青空片想い
3. ごめんね、SUMMER
4. 1!2!3!4! ヨロシク!
5. バンザイVenus
6. パレオはエメラルド
7. オキドキ
8. 片想いFinally
9-14 TBD.

The only thing I'm looking forward too are those 63 PVs. Not sure what to expect, but it could be quite epic.

Will probably get the album when Play-Asia's HK versions are up. Those are far cheaper than the Japanese releases.
And yeah, I'm one of those new SKE fans.

In case anyone wants an official source for that info: http://www.ske48.co.jp/discography/?id=158&select=album (http://www.ske48.co.jp/discography/?id=158&select=album)

Why did they have to put those two songs on the CD-only version? Also, where is Ashiterabu? Are there anymore previews from that photobook? I might have to buy this, if maintains the retro style of the cover.

Note 1:

The NINKI ratings are the results of a POLL conducted by Oricon indicating degree of interest/degree of purchase intention in an upcoming release. Although the ratings are never a true reflection of sales, it does give a strong prediction about where the single/album will place in terms of popularity amongst the Japanese public. However, they are NOT an indication of how it will perform in terms of chart positioning and total sales for the week.

Note 2:

According to Oricon's note under the NINKI page, Oricon researches about 870,000 of its members by random sampling of 400 members in their 10s until 40s. 50 men and 50 women are chosen randomly to participate in each age group. (However, some popular artists have had NINKI exceeding 500, so we can only assume that Oricon has extended the polling to around 600/700 people now.)

^Thanks to both for the mvs!

Really happy to see every members getting their own mvs. I all honesty however, I must confess I am a little bit disappointed by the quality of most of the mvs. To put it bluntly, many of the mvs felt very cheap to me, & I actually dare say I can produce better mvs than some shown given a proper camera! The result were more of less what I expected thou after seeing the 2.5 sec ads, nonetheless I was hoping it could match the quality of the bonus videos attached to Nogizaka single DVDs, an example would be:
3rd Single Bonus Video Nishino Nanase (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wem2DZXNFMM#ws)

Certainly, both group have quite different circumstances: SKE is producing mvs, while Nogizaka is making special videos. SKE have twice the member counts of Nogizaka, & one DVD to store the footage in comparison to Nogizaka's division into three types. But I still felt the mvs have potential to be soooo much better, so my conclusion is that Avex is being seriously owned by Sony in terms to putting quality in their products.

One thing I really really have to say thou: I love Akarin's mv! I cannot stress it enough!
Akarin's mv really showcased her ballet skill; & her dance was just made so much more elegent against the backdrop of the beach. The song was really well chosen too, having perfect synergy with the dance Akarin performed (I guess it help that I never heard this song before so it a nice & fresh song for me). This mv even managed to input some narrative into it with the wheelchair scene, which is really impressive considering the short amount of time it has. The wheelchair scene even make the mv a little bit thought-provoking for me: was Akarin imaging herself springing into elegant dancing? Or was she cured afterward or injured beforehand? All the above packaged into a short two minutes mv, I cannot be more impressed! Akarin's mv start at around the 14:00 marks in the two hour youku vid for those interested.

Otherwise, most mvs don't quite stand out unfortunately. The amount of dedication & budget spent in each mv seems to vary wildly too! Some popular members' mv sadly look pretty cheap to me too. For example: Yuria's & Sawako's (her's looked like a shampoo commercial to me  :P).

Other personally thoughts:

Yukiko's scenes were great: but the shooting was done poorly, & didn't showcased her awesome dancing skill at all! This mv have potential, but didn't make full use of it. Start around 8:00 mark.

Jurina's & Rena's seem to be a little more effort put into their's then the others. Their mv's is sort of what one would expect thou, especially Rena's. Rena's look like a shorten version of a long mv, which shows it got potential. The mvs are by no means bad, but not really outstanding either imo.

Kumi's really fit her song well, with all the hanabis. The atmosphere was nice too; but there isn't much else. Along with Jurina & Rena's, their mv start around the 24:00 mark in successions!

Ahri's really expressed her character well: super otaku!  XD
The mv isn't of the highest quality, but really enjoyable for me. I do wonder did she drew all those are herself?

Anna's has a really interesting concept, with all the lyrics filling up her body. An attention catcher I suppose.

Ogiso's is similar to Anna's; interesting concept, catch attention.

Churi have a very... peculiar choice of an outfit.  XD

Listing Sekae Mei cuz her's really feel like a proper mv to me; just not a really outstanding one.

There a mv for Ame no pianist that is really well made imo! I don't recognize the member thou.

I would love to provide the aprox. time for each mv, but my youku crashed & I cannot verify the time frame.  :banghead:
I have some more thoughts to on the other mvs, but be able to refresh my memory with the vid loading soooo slow...

Anyways, prop to SKE for making this happen thou! Hopefully they can achieve higher quality mv for each member in the future someday!

Out of all the PVs, I think my personal favorites are :

1. Goto Risako : The concept and visualization are damn awesome, she looks cute too in this one
2. Matsui Jurina : Triple Jurina, 'nuff said...
3. Takada Shiori : Dayum... It's kinda rare to see Shiitan in bikini, so this one is definitely priceless

Random thoughts:

Kizaki Yuria - "Okami to Pride" : Imoutolicious. Funny handpuppet (=Kumi? lol) and Yuria looks super cute.
Kito Momona - "Hohoemi no Positive Thinking”: Another Neurowear Necomimi CM. A good one at that, even though it isn’t exactly subtle.
Suda Akari - "Doubt!": Bit dramatic, pure art. Great Akarin appeal video.
Takada Shiori - "Banzai Venus”: NICE. Shiitan has been one of my favorites since SKE48 first appeared. She looks good in bikini. However, that cooking scene looks so awkward, a bit forced.
Matsui Jurina - "Glory days”: There is a Dutch music act called “The Three Js” haha. Jurina looking good as always. She really pulls of the short cut. The PV in itself isn’t that interesting. It’s just pure Jurina appeal, haha.
Matsui Rena - "Kareha no Station”: Simple setting, yet really cool. This vid looks more pro than most of the others too. Rena is using her full ‘sad expression’ library.
Yagami Kumi - "Hanabi wa Owaranai": Pure fireworks. Kumi looking good, but there’s too much smoke to see more of her lol.

Ishida Anna - "Usotsuki na Dachou": Pretty cool concept. Could have used some more color to up the cute level.
Goto Risako - "Antenna": This has been done to death, but at least she looks really cute doing it. I still maintain she looks like Kamei Eri.
Sato Mieko - "Gomen ne, SUMMER": Tour through Tokyo! Mieko looking good.
Takayanagi Akane - "Omatase Set list”: I quite like her vocals in this. She looks great too, even if the bird theme is a bit much, lol.
Furukawa Airi - "Bungee Sengen”: Like Akane’s, this is great because it offers a glimp in the world of Airi.
Matsumoto Rina - "Cross”: Pretty bad-ass. Dig the vocals during the chorus, such a great song. Could have done with less sideways waterfall though.

Isohara Kyoka - "Junjou Shugi": She looks really tanned in that opening shot. Holy crap, what an epic dress. Very nice through-out.
Ueno Kasumi - "Mizu no nai Pool”: So many outfits, dayum. I’m all for that IF it suits the song, which it totally doesn’t.
Kobayashi Ami - "Aozora Kataomoi": Really like this one. Ami’s getting on the radar more and more. Watching this after Mikoti ruined Ame no Pianist makes it that much more vibrant.
Shibata Aya - "Pareo wa Emerald": Aya bunny = I’m sold.
Takeuchi Mai - "Papa wa Kirai": All the Team E kids have grown up. Mai’s been looking great lately. I even mistook her for Shiitan in some thumbnail a while ago, haha.
Owaki Arisa - "Romance Rocket": She was cute in that recent digital picture set. She gives me Komori vibes, but a bit more dangerous lol.
Matsumura Kaori - "Aozora no Soba ni Ite": Promote this girl! Cute video.

In sum:
- Positively surprised, most of the video turned out better than I expected.
- Really interesting to have a minute or two of solo vocals for each girl.
- Best ones imo were: Matsui Rena, Kizaki Yuria, Suda Akari, Isohara Kyoka (!)
- Worst ones: Ogiso's outdated kaleidoscope, Mikoti raping Ame no Pianist
- There is no way they were free to choose their own song, because it's impossible to not have doubles with 63 girls. Luckily, it doesn't really matter.

A screencap says a thousand words. So I'll just throw my diary pics here. :twothumbs
SKE48 1st Album - Kono Hi no Chime wo Wasurenai (63 Solo PV's - 1 to 9 (http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee374/kyot777/AKB%20Diary%202012/2012-09/snapshot_000135_20120916_202338.jpg), 10 to 18 (http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee374/kyot777/AKB%20Diary%202012/2012-09/snapshot_001930_20120916_204647.jpg), 19 to 27 (http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee374/kyot777/AKB%20Diary%202012/2012-09/snapshot_003746_20120916_212425.jpg), 28 to 36 (http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee374/kyot777/AKB%20Diary%202012/2012-09/snapshot_005517_20120916_221634.jpg), 37 to 45 (http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee374/kyot777/AKB%20Diary%202012/2012-09/snapshot_011230_20120916_232606.jpg), 46 to 54 (http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee374/kyot777/AKB%20Diary%202012/2012-09/snapshot_012936_20120916_235717.jpg), 55 to 63 (http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee374/kyot777/AKB%20Diary%202012/2012-09/snapshot_014604_20120917_005255.jpg))

Review time:
Oya Masana [Choco no Yukue] - Kinda freaked me out with the constant chocolate face.
Kato Rumi [Dareka no Sei ni wa Shinai] - Love the song, and Rumi sounds nice. I go nuts for images with nice bokeh backgrounds to. :)
Kizaki Yuria [Okami to Pride] - Darn cute voice. Darn cute turns. Darn cute Yuria-Peace.
Kito Momona [Hohoemi no Positive Thinking] - Why don't the black neko-ears move? Didn't she put batteries in them? Is it wrong I care so much about the neko-ears?
Kinoshita Yukiko [Omoide Ijou] - Yukko looking cool. Should've cut the beach stuff and made it a dance ver.
Kuwabara Mizuki [Onna no Ko no Dairokkan] - Basic funny. She knows what she's doing.
Suga Nanako [1!2!3!4! Yoroshiku!] - Too generic. Forgettable.
Suda Akari [Doubt!] - Akarin just being her normal awesome. Which is awesome! :)
Takada Shiori [Banzai Venus] - A fun PV at last! Shiitan looking nice. I liked her when I started checking out SKE too. The out of place cooking scene made it even funnier for me! Thought it looked familiar, it's the same shop in the Hazumisaki PV (http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee374/kyot777/AKB48/snapshot_0137_20120917_031715.jpg).
Deguchi Aki [Tooku ni Itemo] - Average PV. But, damn I liked her singing.
Nakanishi Yuka [Rope no Yuujou] -Nakanishi jumping over explosions with flying uppercuts. end of comment. 8)
Hirata Rikako [Koi wo Kataru Shijin ni Narenakute] - Kinda fun. Song still holds one of the weirdest dance moves in AKB history.
Hiramatsu Kanako [Daisuki] - I'm pretty resistant to moe moe stuff. Sounds like a cover song?!
Matsui Jurina [Glory Days] - Generic dancing on the rooftop. Jurina saves the day looking good with her short haircut. I'm not into J, but even I thought that triple screen bit was cute. :P
Matsui Rena [Kareha no Station] - Sad-looking Rena is pure beauty. Costly set. What the hell with those yellow light lines covering her eyes so much... wish it was a full 5 minutes.
Yagami Kumi [Hanabi wa Owaranai] - Way too much smoke. Otherwise it might've been better.

Akaeda Ririna [Aitakatta] - Cute and fun PV. :)
Abiru Riho [Bazooka Hou Hassha!] - Cute and fun PV continues~ :)
Iguchi Shiori [Goukaku Kiss] - OK. kinda getting boring here. She's that tall girl in recent S-女, right? Need to check her out more.
Ishida Anna [Usotsuki na Dachou] - Falling words, pretty cool stuff. Pretty nice.
Ogiso Shiori [Kamoku na Tsuki] - I didn't find it that boring, but I found it really tiring.
Kato Tomoko [Nice to meet you!] - Really cute PV that makes me happy watching it. Actually, one of my fave PVs from the whole bunch.
Goto Risako [Antenna] - Pretty cute too. And I haven't seen many PV's using this effect, so I think it's cool.
Sato Seira [Pinocchio Gun] - LOL. Easily the funniest PV in the set.
Sato Mieko [Gomen ne, SUMMER] - It's kinda funny how the PV is 90's styled. Like looking behind the tree~
Takayanagi Akane [Omatase Set list] - Churi being damn weird. Yet it all fits! love her singing/dancing.
Hata Sawako [Ramune no Nomikata] - Getting weird here with all the face shots. Not really like.
Furukawa Airi [Bungee Sengen] - Sailor-Airin x Kitty Love Attack! Jump! Jump!
Matsumoto Rina [Cross] - One of my fave recent SKE songs. So keeping Rina singing it is great. Kinda wished more stuff happening in the PV though.
Mukaida Manatsu [Finland Miracle] - Manatsu looks pretty, I think that's really important.
Yakata Miki [Aishiteraburu!] - Getting some Ryoko Hirosue  "Daisuki" PV vibes. One thing I've never said. I think Miki looks really photogenic, probably one of the top in all SKE (ppl who have checked her blog pics in recent years might understand). This PV totally shows it. The PV is really colorful and upbeat too. loving it.
Yamada Reika [Winning Ball] - This looks like a commercial! XD

Isohara Kyoka [Junjou Shugi] - Pretty cool. Another one that I wished was a full PV.
Ueno Kasumi [Mizu no nai Pool] - Too much cosplay. Not enough of a story/theme. Still, cute.
Uchiyama Mikoto [Ame no Pianist] - No disrespect. My heart was torn into 50 pieces here.
Umemoto Madoka [Koe ga kasureru Kurai] - Not much happening.
Kaneko Shiori [Hazumisaki] - Ah. The "girl brushing her teeth" fetish. Need more.
Kimoto Kanon [Tenshi no Shippo] - Kanon is kawaii~ still needs tail to make it 100%
Kobayashi Ami [Aozora Kataomoi] - OMG. This PV is fantastic. It's actually interesting, and fun. Why aren't all 63 PVs like this. This Ami girl is like really cute. Need to find more about her.
Saito Makiko [Shoujo wa Manatsu ni Nani wo Suru] - Not nearly as good as the original. still, it's different.
Sakai Mei [Tokimeki no Ashiato] - Another cute PV. I really need to check out Team E more. :nervous
Shibata Aya [Pareo wa Emerald] - Aya is an angel~~ That "Kesshou PV" Bunny Dude (http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee374/kyot777/AKB48/snapshot_0507_20120917_045623.jpg) giving out jewels again, probably gonna be a HKT girl next. :nervous
Takagi Yumana [Seishun wa Hazukashii] - Good job backdancer girls.
Takeuchi Mai [Papa wa Kirai] - Papa Daisuki! awww~
Tsuzuki Rika [Inochi no Tsukaimichi] - ok. this totally fits with the song's gritty tone. Wonder if they had a bigger budget, what stuff they would've done.
Hara Minami [Okey Dokey] - Like every wrong color pairing all put in one shot.
Furuhata Nao [Te wo Tsunaginagara] - Damn cute! :inlove: Guess even more ppl will see her Horikita Maki resemblance now. I actually recognized her eyes when the PV began! I think I'm in love. :panic:

Yamashita Yukari [Pajama Drive] - The standard reverse video. Nicely done!
Ichino Narumi [PARTY ga Hajimaru yo] - Man, that guy mannequin's smile is friggin scary.
Inuzuka Asana [Cosmos no Kioku] - The bad CG totally ruins it. Slow and boring.
Iwanaga Tsugumi [Kizashi] - Kinda average.
Ego Yuna [SKE48] - Better. Never wrong with the 'professor with glasses' look.
Owaki Arisa [Romance Rocket] - My fave KKS PV. I really like the feel of the PV. Bright, happy and Idol-y.
Ogiso Risa [Mangekyou] - Wasn't really interested.
Kobayashi Emiri [Namida no Shounan] - Namida no Shounan is probably one of the earliest stage songs I loved. So I'll be extra harsh and say this could've been better.
Niidoi Sayaka [Tsuyoki Monoyo] - Kinda cheap CG here. But she's smiling at the end... cannot hate...
Hioki Miki [Koi no PLAN] - No CG. Waaaay better.
Fujimoto Mitsuki [Kataomoi Finally!] - kinda boring. But she cried a little... cannot hate...
Futamura Haruka [Chime wa LOVE SONG] - If only I knew japanese, I could screencap them for something. I liked her voice.
Matsumura Kaori [Aozora no Soba ni Ite] - Wasn't really interested.
Mizuno Honoka [Disco Hokenshitsu] - Wasn't really interested.
Miyamae Ami [Glass no I LOVE YOU] - Another cute kid to check out. yay! :)
Yamada Mizuho [Me ga Itai Kurai Hareta Sora] - That ended quick. I was just starting to listen.

Personal Faves:
Takada Shiori [Banzai Venus]
Kato Tomoko [Nice to meet you!]
Yakata Miki [Aishiteraburu!]
Kobayashi Ami [Aozora Kataomoi]
Furuhata Nao [Te wo Tsunaginagara]
Owaki Arisa [Romance Rocket]

Also. Forgot to say I'm really happy to hear them singing solo. Doesn't matter if it's good or bad, just great we get to hear each member's voice.

I don't know bout you guys, but Youku really hates me.  :smhid
Really slow in loading, & sometimes cut off the loaded progress it made earlier! Just being a terrible nightmare for viewing..

I wonder if any of you guys are experiencing the same problem too, & for those that are... there exist other options!  :)

Here's one uploader with some video on Youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/user/lovemomo2227/videos?flow=grid&view=0 (http://www.youtube.com/user/lovemomo2227/videos?flow=grid&view=0)

Here's another user with some videos on Dailymotion:
http://www.dailymotion.com/user/Bobby3684/1 (http://www.dailymotion.com/user/Bobby3684/1)

One more from Alive (I think it Thai):
http://alive.in.th/view_channel.php?user=winniekizai (http://alive.in.th/view_channel.php?user=winniekizai)

I remember there's one on Nico Nico Douga too, but I couldn't find it anymore..  :banghead:
You will need a account to access it too, but it free to create one anyways.

With the exception of Nico Nico Douga, most of the vids seems to have originated from Youku!  XD
Maybe many other people are experiencing the ultra slow reload speed too & hence decide to upload youku videos on other platforms.  :nervous

Sadly, all these accounts only contain some mvs, not all. In fact, far from it. Hopefully more mvs will be upload as we approach the release date.

Unconfirmed First Day Sales: 51,875

Compared to AKB48's album sales that seems low, but consider the sales of SKE48's stage albums:
Team S 3rd Stage weekly sales: 5,309
Team KII 3rd Stage weekly sales: 21,726

2nd day sales: 22679

Total: 74554

Definitely not complaining about the album sales, especially after seeing the previous album sales.  :D

Also, Superfly beat them to the no. 1 position today by 2K. As long as they don't fall too far behind on the sales the next few days, I think their 1st day lead can sustain them throughout the week and land them the double 1st week crowns.

After 3 days...

Came in 2nd again for a total of: 85792

Superfly narrows SKE's lead to roughly 10k, if I'm not mistaken. Can they really pull a double crown for this release?  :panic:

I think they still can (based on Superfly not-so-well sales) but it will be very close.

today's sales: 6049

Total: 98657

They aren't going to be those double no.1 after all. Superfly has finally overtaken them.  :(

^Too early for negativity!

The gap with Superfly is now down to 6,395  :panic:

6395 - 6452 = 57 copy lead for Superfly. Just 57 copies difference!

Anything can happen, and the weekly total always varies with the daily Oricon figures anyway. This battle is not lost yet!

I wonder if Superfly's sales are boosted by 48 haters  :nervous

Well, Superfly sales is already worse than their previous album due to lack of hit singles in this album. I doubt there are any SKE haters to help it.

The other day and weekly adjustment will be decided.

Superfly sold 15K whereas SKE48 dropped to #5... Now it's time for negativity  :nervous It was a close battle though!

One of the issues might have been the price of the album. 63 mini solo PVs are nice, but 4800 yen is a lot of money in an already expensive fandom during an economical crisis.
