こんにちは!つんく♂です。
いつもモーニング娘。はじめハロー!プロジェクトを応援して下さってありがとうございます。
本日、発表させて頂いた5期メンバー2人の卒業。
僕の中では新たなステージの始まりかなぁ、と思っています。
紺野も小川も新たなる自分への挑戦を決心いたしました。
彼女達の実績は、これまでも既存のボーカルユニットの域を超え
コンサートやミュージカルを通して結果を残してきました。
そんな2人の次なる挑戦は「勉学」です!
それぞれ方法は違いますが、
僕自身、この先も彼女達の未来を応援していきますし、
そしてその未来をすごく楽しみにしています。
もちろん、この次の『モーニング娘。』かなり期待して下さって結構です!
今後とも宜しく御願いします。

In short:
Today the 5th graduation is announced.
Konno and Ogawa's prescence and efforts were seen
in the concerts and musicals. Their challenge now is to study
and I look foward to their successful future.
My comment:
Ogawa is like yasuda-lite. I can't see her doing anything. Basically
she has no voice, no presence, bye bye ogawa.
Konno is pretty, but we all know she can't hold a note.
However she's much loved. The question is does she want to
stick around.
It seems Tsunku means the business. I wonder why risa wasn't cut as well.
Perhaps too much.

It is, rather shocking. And definitely not the ones I expected for the next graduation. It looks like they'll be graduating from H!P altogether. And according to Philosoranter at JPM, it seems that Konno will be studying , and Ogawa will study language overseas. I wish them both good luck.

yep, they are definitely out...they chose the way of Fukuda Asuka...so good luck to them (and it also means Aichan won't go for a while, so thx Tsunku man for good news :D)

Yeah it's been confirmed...
I feel bad about this. I mean, I always wish to see the girls more interested in education, so I'm proud of Konno and Ogawa wanting to continue their studies. But at the same time the thought of never hearing from them again is crushing. It's weird because they were never really my top favourites, except Konno who was one of my first favourites, even before Nacchi... But not recently. Either way, I feel kind of numb now, except for the unpleasant feeling on the bottom of my tummy... This is a really shocking piece of news, and in my opinion the most crushing grad because never before two MM members have graduated at the same time to leave H!P altogether (and I'm pretty sure continuing studies means leaving H!P, like happened with Maiha).
Shortly put, I'm not angry at Konno or Ogawa, but for all of their fans THIS SUCKS.

Um maybe everyone's life doesn't circle around their job. Makoto can have a lot of bright things in her future, they just won't have anything to do with being an idol. There are some more important things in life than making money by jumping around in bikini.

As to closing my thread,
"yay or gay" A poll about if tsunku has fucked any of the musume girls gets to become a three page thread, but a poll on who you'll miss the most out of the graduating members gets closed. Maybe I should have asked which of the graduating members will get fucked in college first, and it it would have stayed open.

I think it's both sad and wonderful, sad because.. I'll miss them a whole lot. Both Konno and Makoto have captured my attention lately and I've been eager to see more of them.. but now they'll be leaving sometime this summer ~,~ just my luck.
I also think it's wonderful, because it's great that they get to do things they want to do. I've always wondered if Konno wanted to get higher education or not, since she's sort of always been the smart girl. Hm. And wow, go Makoto for wanting to study languages abroad O_O;

Wow, this is quite some news. No one was suspecting this, but I guess it somehow makes sense.
Konkon is so intelligent, it was clear that she would be studying one day, and personally, no matter how much I love her, it's better for her. Even though she has learned to sing (yes, she can hold a note!), what would she do in H!P after just graduating MM? She's not the typical idol and this decision just makes sense.
Makoto was never one of my favorites, but still. I could see her continueing her idol career as an actress, but considering her studies abroad she doesn't seem to want that path.
I hope both will be happy, because they are amazing girls and deserve it.
On another note ...

This actually doesn't bother that much. Konno has had a great run and there will always be so many amazing appeareances and jokes of her's to watch. Plus 3 PB's and an Alo-Hello.
Aside from the three really stand out stars (Maki, Nacchi, Rika), Konno has had one of the best careers in Morning Musume. She's leaving on top, and I think she'd want it that way.

I've always liked Konkon (though not enough to be a favourite), so it's kind of said to learn that we probably won't see her again, until she somehow still stays in Gatas (which I highly doubt). Anyway, best of luck to both girls...

I'm sad to hear about any graduation, but of course, Konno and Ogawa want to continue with their studies and I respect them greatly for that. In fact I'll just take this opportunity to say I wish them both the very best of luck for the future. I'll miss you guys!!

It bothers me quite a lot actually, even though they are not my favourite members but they were a part of Morning Musume and their personalities are really different from the others..I'd really miss them when they are gone, i can believe this myself but i almost cried when i found out about this..

It's a nicer way to say the girls are going back to school but it's just typical for UFW/UFA/UFwhatever to get rid of member who cannot pull in profit as solo act.
I'm sure Konkon is going back to school, she has the brain. A mind is a terrible thing to waste. She's already wasted her youth being a second banana.
As for Ogawa...studying overseas? hmm....ok, we won't hear from her ever again...unless Friday do an "ex-mm...blah blah blah" in the future.
She will be a big lost in Hello! Morining skit for sure! UFW wasted her talent...

i'll miss them both, but this could be a sign that people are jumping ship before momusu is disbanded (which would confirm the yearly "breakup" rumor).
or perhaps tsunku's reforming the image of momusu. perhaps the reason why risa isn't "graduated" along with konno and ogawa is because she is leadership material. she's got attitude and confidence to lead morning musume in the future. i can't quite say the same about takahashi.

i just found out about this. oh noo.. that's so sad. i'll be missing them definitely but excuses or not i think it's a very good idea for them to go pursue their studies than staying around in h!p just to appear on hello morning once in a while. studying is better for them and their future. hope ogawa learns english.
anyway i can't imagine risa without aichan or aichan without risa. just seems too lonely :(

I'm quite happy that Konkon's going back to school. That girl really is quite bright! I'm actually quite happy for that she will get to utilise and show off her other talents! :yay:
And as for Makoto, I hope that she finds a niche for herself somewhere, not to be smothered and kept in some backroom for eternity. It's such a waste of all that energy that she has! It's true though... H!M skits will not be the same without her... T_T

Musume personnel turnover is a FACT OF LIFE. And often, it's the people you least expect. I sure couldn't have predicted this.
Let me add once again my opinion that "sotsugyou" is the most-misused and abused word in H!P.

makes sense! Aichan has the vocals and looks,and Risa has made most progress since she joined from the 5th gen.
But konno was the only thing that kept my interest in MM past few years. I dont see any other members being my fave. For Ogawa it's just bad luck. SHe never had the opportunity to shine, aside from H!M skits /

I'd say that both of them are leaving on top, or at least they're taking control and leaving on their own terms. Will it hella suck once they're gone? Fuck yeah. No one can ever replace Konkon's cuddly-ness or Mako's energy and comedic acting during the skits. But in the end, it's their choice. Though they will soon be leaving, they've each carved their own little niches in MM/H!P and will always be loved and remembered.

Konno was good as a member of MM, but seriously I can't imagine her going solo, or doing dramas or hosting tv shows. She would have ended up doing nothing, just like Kei, and that would have been terrible waste for her abilities.
So, I think it's the best solution for her to continue her studies now, when she's still got the chance.
I wish her good luck.
The same goes pretty well for Makoto as well. But because she never was any star in MM or H!P, her graduation because of "studying abroad" feels a bit like "firing" her :P I'll hope this isn't the case though.

It would be a damn shame for Konno to not go back to school, that would be a serious waste of a damn good brain. And Mako, I hope she goes into theatre or something like that, where her skills can be nurtured and developed. I don't think her idea of success is being in the back row behind the 6th gens.

Can you IMAGINE what other fans of J-pop music are saying about H!P/MM when they read about the latest news of member "graduations"? Is it laced with sympathy or ridicule? Or sarcasm?
Being a fan of Musume Proper has got to be one of the most trying experiences in pop music. Attempting to get someone to even consider being a fan in light of the annual news of member exodus must be equally difficult. It sure has been that way for me through the years, beginning with Ishiguro and Ichii in the same damn year. And having my favorite members being forced to leave the group always makes me feel pissed off.
But, as Nacchi is fond of saying, life goes on.

They're leaving in a good way and Konno's leaving on top.
If it was a situation like Mari's departure, I'd be devastated. As it is, I don't really mind. Maybe this is the right time.
Plus they're both leaving to do things with their lives - not just get stuck in limbo like Kei and Kaori. That's an upshot too in my opinion.
Something tells me this isn't the last time we'll hear the name Konno Asami too.

I have to say when ever those "who is gonna graduate next" threads were on, i'd always say Pi-Mako and Konkon. I kinda predicted this, but it still really hurts. I was so hoping Risa was next (apologies to Risa). What sucks even more is with all the recent graduations, and with the death of the first few generations (and the almost death of my beloved 4th gen), i was warming to the 5th gen. Konkon ........ she was my fave out of the current MM. I was just recently mass acquiring konkon media. That face, who can say no to it? Tsunku couldn't, i can't. And Makoto, don't drop the comedian! Who is going to come up with the wise cracks? Makoto never really got the chance.... I know she isn't up to "Ace" material, but......
In saying all that, Konkon was always destined for a university education. She is going to ace those university entrance exams. She has got a bright future, i really believe she is going to be succesful in whatever she decides to do (anyone know what degree she is planning to do?)
In regards to Makoto, HUH?!!!! Study abroad? If it's her decision, fair enough. She knows whats good for her better than i do. All the best Makoto, but i really wish you stayed in the entertainment industry.

When I read I was kind of shocked... Persoanlly I'll miss them both, most Makoto. I mean they were in some of the "classics" like Mr. Moonlight and Souda! We're Alive, so it feels boring. For Morning Musume as a group I think Konno will have the most "negative" effect. But at the same time this will make room for faces as people mentioned.
That graduation concert is gonna be a sad one... :(

Well we all know konno is smart, very smart. Dr. Asami smart.
It's just with the photo books so soo, you'd think she was secure.
But it makes sense given she can't sing. She has no potential for
solo career.
I can only hope for folk song appearances, guest emcee at concerts or
sports events.
I will miss her honest, earnest smile.

Excuse me just taking my post from Jpopmusic, and just putting it here.
I think the old me would have been very upset at this news, particularly as Pon-chan was my fav member, and still is one of my favs.
However, ever since returning to Hello! Project from my 5 month break, my admiration for them has changed to something somewhat deeper.
And now, I actually think that this is great news. Morning Musume wouldn't be Morning Musume without changes and unpredicted happenings, and whilst it will be sad to see these 2 depart from MoMusu, particularly as the 5th gen is my fav gen, I think its very good that they're going to pursue further studies now.
They've enjoyed over 5 years in one of the most unique (if not THE most unique) musical act in the world and will very much be missed.
I am doubtful about the fact that they'd return to H!P though. I mean, we've never had a graduation out of the music industry, only to return back. And plus, I presume after their studies, they'll have new goals in life. Though, I'd still like to see them make an appearance back with the rest of the girls at least once or twice upon completion of their studies.
But, MoMusu will still continue, so I will continue to support them until the day Tsunku runs out of members to graduate.... -_-;;

Anyways...WHOA. Pretty surprising news. I remember the rumors Makoto was gonna leave due to contract dispute haha but to go because of "studies" ... reminds me of when sports coaches/players retire or resign "because they want to spend more time with their family."
I guess I can say I'm numb to all this. Seen too many graduations already.

She said Konno was graduating from MM and H!P, and Makoto was graduationg from MM. No mention of H!P. So this could mean that she'll be back in H!P.

Am I the only one who doesn't think Konno is a genius? I mean sure, she was top of the class in elementary school but that doesn't exactly require that much to pull off. She has had the "brainiac" image but she has also been quite aloof and surprisingly incapable of answering questions that anyone who went to school could have answered (in quiz corners etc).
We all know that being in an active group in H!P is pretty much a full-day job and more. It's entirely possible that her educational achievements haven't been that good *after* she joined MM (and according to the Santos blog, they don't even *go* to school). And she's been in there for five years now. That's a long time to ignore school. It will require some serious effort to catch up.

Am I the only one who doesn't think Konno is a genius? I mean sure, she was top of the class in elementary school but that doesn't exactly require that much to pull off. She has had the "brainiac" image but she has also been quite aloof and surprisingly incapable of answering questions that anyone who went to school could have answered (in quiz corners etc).
i don't think she's a genius, nor is she that good with general knowledge. but i think she's the type that works really hard to gets good grades at school, or anything else in life for that matter (just look at how she got into mm in the 1st place).
it's easy for a genius to get 100% in exams, konkon's the type who works slowly and patiently for her 100%.
she still seems to be one of the smarter ones or maybe the smartest one in mm to me anyway..
edit: by the way... don't they have private tutors or homeschooling or something like that?

Of course, probably. I would still say that they learn a lot less than what they would if they went to a normal school. When you're in a position like that, education is kinda secondary to everything else. It takes a lot of discipline to bother learning stuff in your free time when you could use that time more productively (=sleep). Even the best discipline will be brought down by sleep deprivation.

Speaking as a teacher, I can say that one on one tutoring actually tends to be a more efficient/quicker way of learning. The tutor is able to focus his/her attention on one student. Private tutors rarely work with more than 2 or 3 students in one session. This allows the tutor to really customize his/her teaching style to the student's particular needs and learning style. In working with regular-sized classes, this is hard to do, because you're dealing with 30 different kids, all of whom learn in different ways. You do your best to make it so that they can all "get it", but it's just really, REALLY difficult to make it work for every single student in the class.

Just reading about the comments KonKon and Makoto wrote on H!P website.
Now thinking about KonKon's graduation I'm kind of worry a bit. She's gonna graduate in July and prepare for the university entrance exam in August. I'm just worry that (touch wood) if she didn't make the entrance exam while being out of MM and H!P, what will she do?
Makoto on the other hand seems to be fine so far. She's only quitting MM and going oversea to study. It's not that hard to get into schools oversea (depending on what school), and if ever she finishs she can come back and join H!P.
Anyhow can someone translate what they wrote on H!P website? I don't understand a bit of what they said.
And I'm wonder in the scandal it says there are possibly 3 people graduating... wondering who will be the next candidate??? Too bad there aren't a discography (like Love Machine) that tells us who will be graduating, but looking at the trend it seems like the cover for Chokkan2 (working on the right column, then left column, and finally the middle column...)

It's shocking and sad, but I'm actually glad for them... I think it's the best decision ever for them because:
1. They get out b4 MM falls XD
2. They get something solid as backup for their future.
They weren't Makis or Mikis or Ayayas, who have proven they'll probably be able to go on as soloists for a loooooooong time... And they weren't Nacchis either, so I don't imagine them getting a lot of acting/hosting jobs. This really is the best for their future.

Actually I kind of think that Konkon probably wouldn't sit for this year's exams, I really doubt she had the time to regularly attend tutorials or do mock exams during this time. Having only one month to study for university entrance exams is probably too much for her...especially if she is trying for a couple.
And I don't think it's a bad idea if she chooses to be a 'ronin' for a year, just to get more acclimatised to be a normal person again, instead of an idol/celebrity. I agree that she's not the genius type, but she's definitely the type that's willing to study and I'm sure she'll manage to get into it (though probably not some of the top ones).

kei-chan can sing VERY VERY WELL. She has a great voice.

What I would put foward is if Tsunku is trying to make MM a group
that can actually sing decently again, sayumi and risa have got to go.
Rika, you can put some people with her and she's acceptable
for an idol. Sayu, as much as I love her, sings... well, she doesn't sing
They dead mic / overlay her vocals every concert except for dialogue...
Sayu could be a tv talenta, she's cute enough for a lifetime of Ai no apron...
Risa was once the most hated musume, I mean people burned pictures of her...
I'd say expect more auditions, and people who can sing. If you look at all the people Tsunku passed over based on looks who turned into music stars, he's on the losing side of judgement.

Hmmm... quite a big shake-up it seems, and (correct me if I'm wrong) a pair of graduations quite unlike any for several years, in that all preceding graduations for some time have led to the member remaining involved with H!P in some capacity.
These are not girls that I have personally paid huge attention to, but I feel sad for fans for whom they are personal favourites - I know how I would feel if Sayumi was to go! Obviously they have to consider their futures, and it seems this is a different reason than most for moving to graduation.
It will also leave quite a gap, and there will definitely now have to be an 8th Gen intake sometime soon. This will be the first intake since I became a more informed fan, and I will be interested to observe what happens - as well as I can when I don't read any Japanese and I don't get to see any of the shows.

I understand that everyone has their own opinion about who they like/dislike, but I think Ogawa has a real chance to make it “in the real world” and I wish her and konno all the best! :)

Actually it says on the H!P site that she will take the entrance exam in August. Perhaps KonKon had studied earlier before (like from private tutor, home-school, etc.). Plus after she graduates there still some time left for extra study, so I believe she will try the exam later in August.

I already knew about this, and I'm still sad. Konno was one of my Top3 Musumes, and I really really digged ogawa, she was so funny.
I just think this is sad, I don't really think Tsunku will choose the right girls to 'replace' them, and even if he did, I'm just going to miss them.
What makes this 'harder' is that I really really wasn't prepared to see them leave (actually I was expecting Takahashi to graduate), so yeah. shocker.

It does seem like konkon's serious about continuing her studies. She's the smartest of them and she was on a boom of popularity with two photobooks in a year. Makoto's seems the most depressing since she hasn't had much going for her other than being yossie's woman during the chubby years. Each of the girls has a niche now

If you think "continuing studies" is anything more than a graceful exit, think again.
There is absolutely nothing brighter for ogawa to ever do once she leaves MM.Nothing. She'll never pic up a a mic, do a photo book. The best she can look foward to is a private job, or to become an OL.
Konno I might believe going on to college, but the timing is too suspicious.
Simply he is making room for more people, in as polite a fashion as possible.

They're not graduating at the same time. Their graduations were announced at the same time. Konkon's graduating first (in July), Mako is graduating a month later, in August. They did the same thing with Kaori and Rika's graduations last year. Kaori got her's first, then Rika got hers about a month or two later.

It's possible. Some of the recent PB's have been a lot more 'gravure' than in the past. H!P's image is certainly different than it was when 5th gen joined.
