Glancing through all these threads about various members, I was floored to see there weren't any dedicated to Mika. Whether it's Coconuts Musume, Mini Moni, or her new jazz singing career, she's always been my favorite. Tell us how you feel about her, anything goes! Pictures always welcomed ;)
She's one of the biggest goofballs around. With her sometimes flawed japanese and puns, there's always something to laugh at. The best thing about her is her voice though. If anyone's heard her really really sing, it's something to behold.

I just listened to Mika's solo album and it's pretty good. I never knew she was such a good singer.

Mika's next official appearance will be taking place in November at an event called "New J-Neration" in Sao Paolo, Brazil. This is a large Japanese music and culture convention and will feature such other notable guests as Puffy Ami Yumi, Shimazu Aya, and Mizuki Ichiro. It's being held at the Expo Barra Funda, November 25-26 2006.
Not all details have been finalised as of yet, but at the moment her schedule includes an autograph session on November 24, participation in the "New J-Neration" event itself, as well as TV appearances in Sao Paolo and Rio de Janeiro.
This will be Mika's first public appearance in nearly a year and a half, so if you're going to be in or near Brazil at the time, be sure to check it out. (And keep an eye on this site for additional information and more specific details as they're revealed.)

I was listening to a sample of her singing Jazz. I must say she sounds way more mature and I wish she was given more attention because her voice is really good when singing Jazz. I think, like Danielle, she isn't really a pop singer more like a smooth ballad type.

So after a year and a half of nothing happening in this thread, I thought I'd bump it. Today marks 5 years since Mika's final performance with minimoni. I looked at my Mika plushie today and remembered how important today is.

My Mika story: Didn't care too much for Coconuts Musume at the time. Then when she joined Mini Moni, it was like fuck! she was a whole new person. Good to see her develop into a funloving victim of Aibon and Nono's pranks. Here's hoping she does more live shows!

My Mika story: So I'm cruising around Wikipedia back in the day and the article on this random J-pop group catches my attention. Why? Besides their gimmick of being small, one member happens to be an American of mixed race, and I thought she looked cute. I couldn't find much more information on her, though, and I wasn't ready at the time to deal with learning more about this kid-oriented pop act...until Ayaka's Surprise English Lessons sucked me in. With Mika popping up randomly in these videos I decided to look more into how she got started and what she accomplished, and things just kept going from there.
Favorite thing(s) about Mika: She further proves my personal notion that mixed Asian girls are hot. :P She also has one hell of a singing voice, putting it on display in later Minimoni songs and jazz performances.
Favorite Mika song: Crazy About You...I would've picked the 7Air song but she barely shows up in both the original and Minimoni verson (though she does look pretty damn good in the PV).

My Mika story: When I decided to learn more about Mini Moni, I got to learn about Mika, and eventually to Coconuts Musume. Although, I remembered a news story about a girl group going to Japan but never followed up on it. Although Mika speaking both English and Japanese actually led in with some lame jokes like "sonna banana"

Same here, but no reply. :nervous But she has been replying like crazy to other people since last night; seems she's really excited to see how many fans she still has after all this time.

You might want to double-check your spelling dude. The tags in Mika's Instagram posts that I linked have her husband's name as CALE Hirobe, a hairstylist.
He and Cole are probably related.
