Can someone explain to me the difference between SKE48 and AKB48, is there a different concept, age group, ect.
I've been ignoring them just so I don't go insane learning about both AKB and SKE.
AKB48 - the original group formed by Akimoto Yasushi, they have their own theater in Don Quijote, Akihabara, Tokyo.
SKE48 - the sister group also by Akimoto, they rent theater space in Sunshine Sakae Mall in Nagoya.
AKB stands for Akihabara, while SKE stands for Sakae.
the concepts are all the same, you can meet them after every performance at the theater. age group is also the same. some started in AKB with ages of 10-11years old. same with SKE48, Jurina was 11 when she joined.
theater or stage productions run in a specific period of time (a few months overlapping between each team) and run for 1 hour. customers get a bonus of about 2-3 extra songs if the team gets to do an encore performance.
in stage productions of AKB48 and SKE48 (except for AKB48 Team A) is that each first stage production they perform is the first stage of Team A. Team B of AKB48 on the other hand performed a mix of the 1st stage songs of Team A and 2nd stage songs of Team K.
subsequent stage productions for each team is different from the other teams after finishing the 1st stage production.
