Smiling sweetly as she submerged a piece of meat into the boiling water, Eri tilted her head and beamed expectantly at her new girlfriend. Her action was undoubtedly adorable and the simple act brought a smile onto Ai's face. This was the exact reason why she had agreed so readily to be with Eri.

Her second sentence was significantly softer than the first and it almost sounded like a desperate plead for help. Stunned by the surprising request, Risa turned back.

She refused to admit her unrequited feelings for Eri and she hated herself for being so vulnerable. Nonetheless Sayumi couldn’t deny the pain that was numbing her heart and the tears that had began falling from her eyes.

Having to make a trip home first after leaving Sayumi’s house to shower and grab the items she needed for today’s dance rehearsal, she barely had enough time to arrive at the company without being terribly late. Eri gets off the hook easily enough just by flashing an adorable grin, however Risa didn’t receive the same treatment as she had the image of a reliable and responsible sub-leader to uphold.Risa does it so well though, which is why she's an awesome sub-leader. :rockon:

Opening her eyes, she was about to walk towards the exit of the empty dressing room when she noticed a figure standing at the doorway. Expecting it to be one of the members who had returned to pick up a forgetten item, she gasped in astonishment at realizing the new arrival was Sayumi.Onoes!
"She already snatched her from me. Why does she have to take away what little time I have with Eririn?"
Tears glistened within her doe like eyes and Risa's gut felt like it was being twisted together at seeing Sayumi's devastated appearance. How could she console the younger? How could she alleviate her pain? Before she could decide on what to do, Sayumi took off like a speeding bullet down the hallway, dropping her duffel bag on the floor in the process.
"Sayumi!"
Pacing around anxiously as she waited for Sayumi to calm down, the scheduled dance rehearsal completely slipped Risa's mind. About twenty minutes later, Sayumi came up to where Risa was waiting, a forced smile plastered on her face.They understand each other because they know that they're going through the same thing.
"I'm good to go."
The two friends walked side by side in silence to the exit whilst Risa stole discreet glances at Sayumi. She wanted to make sure the wounded bunny was really okay. Upon reaching the exit which would lead them back down to the main building, Sayumi yanked hard on the handle of the heavy door and discovered to her dismal that it wouldn't budge.Uh-oh...don't tell me. :O
Spying the single orange colored brick lying beside the door, she exclaimed agitatedly.Sayu = :shock:
"OMG you didn't put the stopper on!"
"Huh?"
Scratching the top of her head with her manicured fingernails, Risa answered, totally lost with the conversation.

Throwing up her hands in frustration, Sayumi glared menacingly at the older girl with narrowed eyes.

Jogging backwards, she started running from a distance away and crashed shoulder first into the bulky door. Not only did she fail to burst open the structure successfully, the impact from the collision threw her back and left her sprawled out on the floor moaning in pain.

Congratulating herself with a slanted smirk, Reina lighted the thin stick wedged between two of her fingers. She was only successful with her third effort as she fumbled a little with the silver lighter and had to shift her body accordingly to thwart the frosty winds repeatedly assaulting the weak flame. At last the tip of the cigarette blazed with an amber glow and Reina sucked in deep breathes of the silent killer.BAD REINA! BAD, BAD, BAD REINA! :angry:
During one of her escapades, she froze abruptly when from the corner of her wonky eye, she caught sight of a couple of foreign silhouettes.I guess Reina was already up there when Sayu and Risa came up? Making eye contact with Reina, Aika signaled for her relatively close friend and team mate to do something. The reply to her plead was simply Reina shaking her head discreetly and mouthing the words, No way I'm sticking my neck out.I'm with Reina on this one. Risk receiving some of Aichan's wrath as well? I don't think so.

Balancing the handle of an umbrella with a transparent cover on her shoulder, the twenty year old walked slowly. Her line of sight was focused on the far end of the road but she wasn't paying attention to anything in her path.
Taking leisurely strolls was an activity she indulged in whenever she could afford the time and it was a good method to clear her mind and relieve stress when Disneyland wasn’t an option.
What is wrong with me?Knowing the cause is one thing, , but right now the next question that Aichan needs to ask herself is...WHY did the fact that Sayu is wearing Risa's jacket set her off? she now has to figure out. :yep:
Digging her fingernails into her palm, it suddenly dawned on Ai the reason for her unpleasantness. Sayumi wearing Risa’s jacket. Yes, that was it. Somehow when she saw the lime green Adidas jacket worn by a person other than herself, a bizarre annoyance sparked up within her. Perhaps if she hadn’t noticed that little detail, Ai wouldn’t have flared up the way she did.
Although she now knew the cause for her annoyance, Ai wasn’t sure why she reacted so callously. The fifth and sixth genners were only sharing clothes. It wasn’t a big deal. In fact, leader and sub-leader did it all the time. Becoming increasingly confused, Ai uttered a strangled cry, venting her frustrations at how a regular dance rehearsal could have gone so wrong.We, of course, as the readers, already have a good idea as to why. :)

After pondering for a moment, the sub-leader decided to pick option 3.Gakisan's going to the rooftop again? I hope she remembers the doorstop this time. >_> I'm surprised that she so easily still thought that Reina's smoking was something that she needed to talk to Ai about. It really shows her maturity level. She didn't let Ai's actions of the previous day affect their leader and sub-leader relationship.
She had absolutely no quality that would make anyone fall in love with her.Poor Sayu. She seems to have something of a complex. Her weakness in being unable to resist is a bit similar to the weakness she showed earlier with the glass so I found it very believable. It's funny that she's both a strong character and a weak one at the same time. She shows strength when it comes to trying to help Risa but is weak when it comes to herself and resisting comfort as shown later in the chapter. Actually, I think she's a bit like Risa in that way because Risa is shown being strong and competent when it concerns helping others (such as Sayu and Reina) as well but when it comes to her own feelings (such as wallowing in her Ai-induced emo'ness) she needs help from others.

Sayu didn't get pushed away though so maybe Gaki-san is getting some comfort where she can get it too and using Sayumi to replace Ai just as Sayu is using her to replace Eri or maybe she really has developed some feelings for the bunny. Anyways, this line from Risa should be enough to make anyone melt - I don't blame Sayu for kissing her after that line. :heart:

A soft ding was heard announcing the arrival of the lift at the designated level prior to the doors sliding open. With a soft tone, Sayumi uttered.

The doors came together again as a lone figure walked out leaving just one member of the pair behind. Without a new destination selected, the motor slowed to a halt and the lift grew silent.

Sayumi's voice was low, menacing even when she ordered Reina to keep her nose out of her business. Usually she was a person who was rather easy going and open to discussion. But this time, she felt an unmistakable tinge of threat coming from the yankii. Was Reina going to contest with her for Risa's attention? She had already lost Eri to Ai, she wasn't going to lose Risa without a fight.
Risa's frantic gaze flicked over to where the leader was standing with Eri. Kame was hiding in Ai's embrace as she wept softly into her girlfriend’s chest. It was evident that the series of events was too much for the confrontation shy turtle to take. In the split second where sub-leader and leader’s gaze met, it was obvious that the older woman did not intend to get herself involved.Oh really now? Is this out of some sense of self-preservation (i.e. not wanting to get in the middle of a bunny-cat fight) or is there...something...else to it? :?

Lifting her eyes to the face of the one with raven locks, Risa smiled gently. Returning the kind gesture, Sayumi leaned in to give Risa a thank you kiss on the cheek.Uh-oh. :-X

Arching one brow, Risa considered Reina’s suggestion. Talking things over at a pub was a good plan since the environment was rather conducive for Reina to let her guard down and tell her the reason behind the earlier outburst and her smoking addiction.

Referring to the overly loud pulsing techno song blasting out of the hidden speakers, Risa rolled her eyes resignedly when Reina missed her point entirely and continued bobbing her head to the music. Risa had meant that the place was far too noisy for her liking and that she did not appreciate having her eardrums shatter from the loud volume.
"Apple martini and an orange juice."Oh Risa, so clueless and innocent to many of the ways of the yankii. :lol:
"I don't do apple martinis...wait a minute, don't tell me you got me orange juice?!"

Promising Risa that she would, Reina finally gathered enough courage to look into the face of the woman she loved secretly. She was deeply touched that Risa had taken out time to speak with her after work hours. The concern she expressed wasn’t lost on Reina and this action by the ever reliable sub-leader only made the relatively new smoker fall harder for her. Studying Risa at such close range without any disruptions permitted Reina the opportunity to observe the object of her affections and take in every fine detail of her perfect features.

Completely engrossed in watching her, Reina didn’t notice that Risa had downed her 3rd drink, a strawberry mojito and was about to order a fourth until the bartender asked.Oh boy...tipsy Risa? :P

Although Ai was cradling Eri in her arms and consoling the distraught girl by rubbing her on the back comfortingly for the past twenty minutes, her mind was not on her girlfriend. Questions about her whereabouts, what she was doing and who she was with consumed her thoughts.
Halting the patting action, Ai felt a lone tear fall from her eye. She wasn’t sure what made her cry but there was one thing she was certain of. The affections she had for Eri were becoming more and more like those one has towards a younger sibling. Why hadn't she realized this earlier? Did she make a mistake right from the start? Had she somehow mistaken kinship for love?Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh yeah. Totally called it. :pimp:

Shifting her other hand to cover Risa's wholly by fitting her fingers snugly within those beneath, Reina tightened her grip and pressed down against Risa's body. When the girl below returned her kisses with similar relish, Reina's heart thumped faster and she was absolutely giddy with joy.

What happened earlier in Risa’s apartment kept replaying itself in Reina’s mind and no matter how hard she tried to block out the heartbreaking confession from her thoughts, those three words persisted in appearing.I guess it was too much for her to take? She just had to get out of there. :cry:

Crawling on her hands and knees to her bag which had been thrown aside haphazardly upon entering her room, Reina dug for the box containing the one item which allowed her to forget about her troubles momentarily. Balancing a single stick between her lips, Reina lit the end of the cigarette with the orange flame atop her lighter. Then sucking in deeply, she leaned her head back against the wall to stare up at the ceiling covered with an array of dancing shadows cast by the street lamp perched outside her window.Awwwwwwwwwww...Reina...noooooooooooooooooooo. :'(

Closing her eyes and lowering her head, she muttered a silent prayer pleading for Risa’s safety. Risa couldn’t die, not when she was so young and still had her whole life ahead of her. On her part, Ai was rooted to her spot as she quietly repeated the following mantra.Two different ways of expressing it, but we all know that they're both worrying about her right now.

Fearful of hearing an answer which she could not bear to acknowledge, Sayumi's voice quivered as she dashed to the doctor’s side.

Unaware about the occurrence of any such episodes, Sayumi glanced at Ai for a reply. Ai's reaction constituting of a blank stare demonstrated that she didn’t know anything about this either.
“What about the blood? There was so much of it.”
Shuddering at the memory of Risa lying on sheets splattered with the crimson fluid, Sayumi pressed on, afraid that something more serious could be at play.
“Vomiting up blood is possible with gastrointestinal bleeding.”
Due to the hospital’s strict regulations, Ai could not remain in the A&E department if she wanted to use her cell phone. As a result, she was unable to visit Risa immediately. Exiting the compound to pick up the call, a wave of guiltiness welled up within Ai when she connected the call.So Aichan just lied to Eri and didn't tell her that she really went to see Risa, and that now she and Sayu are at the hospital with her.
“Ai-chan! Have you arrived home? I was so worried when you didn’t send me a text message.”
“I’m sorry for not informing you Eri. I was so tired that I fell asleep as soon as I got home.”
The words tumbled out of her mouth in a flash and Ai only realized what she had said after Eri had accepted her explanation and ended the call with a chirpy goodbye.

Not long ago, Eri and Sayu planned to hang out together but they had a rehearsal that day. Fortunately for them, the rehearsal ended 4 hours before the scheduled time and they had a meal together before going to karaoke. They went to the karaoke not to sing, but to eat and chat. It was humid in the room after some time. Eri took off her clothes out of a sudden, leaving her camisole on. Eri looked very sexy in that and Sayu was worried that a staff might just walk into the room to check if they needed anything so she asked Eri to put on her clothes which Eri refused, reasoning that its dark and no one would be able to see. To Sayu, the darkness added unnecessary sexiness. She managed to convince Eri to put on her (Eri's) rehearsal jersey in the end.I can totally picture this. :lol:
