DiVA Project - (Teaser)

"Sir, we have a bad news.." said a voice. The man turned his working chair and found his secretary standing in front of his desk, clutching a report file.
"What happened?" he huskily asked. The secretary did not answer, instead she handed him the report file. Her hands was shaking as she offered the file to the man. Realizing it, the man looked up to his secretary.
"Noro Kayo, what happened?" he asked again. This time the secretary couldn't help her tears anymore and started sobbing.
"General.." she said between her sobs. "Natsumi.. She's among them.."
The man's eyes widened and hurriedly opened the report file as the secretary fell on her knees and started crying. The man was shocked as he read through the file, analyzing every single details printed in the report. Photos were also included in the report, successfully mortified the man.
He couldn't take it anymore, he put down the file on his desk and leaned back on his chair. One of the papers flied out of the file, revealing names of those who were reported missing.

"When did this exactly happened?" asked the man again to the secretary.
"This unit was on the last assignment that you gave them. We received a distress call last night and when the back up team arrived, they only found four survivors in a critical state.."
"Only four? Where's the rest?" asked the man again.
"As I said sir, yes there's only four. Soon after they were found, half of the back up team went to look for them and haven't return since.." sobbed the secretary. "Oh my God... Natsumi.. Natsuki.. Kana.. They're.."
"Calm down, Noro. I have to speak to the survivors now. Is my.."
"Yes sir, your niece was found. But her conditions are at stake now and so is the rest.." said the secretary.
"Any strange things happened to them?"
"Yes sir.. Although they haven't woken up yet, but they were murmuring while they were still out.."
"Murmuring? About what?"
"Something about "The Moon", sir.." answered the secretary. She sounded much more calm now, "Do you think that's got to do with..."
"It's possible." answered the man. "Other than my niece, who else survived?"the secretary offered another part from the report file.

The door slide open and a woman came in to the office. She was short figured, yet her face was full of determination and a tinge of anger. The man noticed her approach towards him and glanced a little towards her as he kept on reading his file reports.
"Is it true?" asked the woman. "Is it true that you're using them as lab rats?!" she yelled.
The man didn't threw her another glance, he just kept his eyes fixed on the report sheets. Instead, the door slideopen again, revealing the hurried secretary.

"Let me go, Noro! They're our friend and you let them treated like this?!" She yelled towards the older girl as she shook off Noro's hands off her.
"Yuko, listen to me! There aren't any choices left! They were dying and we have to act fast!"
"By injecting them an unknown substance? That's very wise." answered Yuko curtly.
"The substance that they were injected are a series of complicated chemicals, Ms. Oshima." said the man finally. He put down his paper and took of his glasses. "

"Two years ago, scientist have started researching on human's capabilities to accept many chemical reactions given to them. The idea was to discover is it possible to give some kind of power created by a serial of complex chemical. The research results interested the military to fund the next phase which was creating the serum for it."
"Then when it's finished, the military planned to use it didn't they?" asked Yuko.
"Yes. The project was called DiVA Project and Ohori Megumi, a friend of both of you I believe, also involved in making the serum. She's been keeping her eyes on the project for us, reporting us with information regarding to it." answered the man before he took his glasses off.
"Then how come they were injected by it? Under whose order is it?" asked Yuko again.
"The serums were completed about a week ago, the exact time that those four were found. The Minister of Defence heard about them and was aware that the serum must be tried out. And so under the direct order from him, we were to inject them with the serum to see how it works and so on.."
"Understood?"
Akimoto Sayaka's POV
"What the hell are these things?!"
"Somebody help!!!"
"Everyone, stick together!!"
"Run... Yuka.."
"Command base, we need back up! I repeat we need back up now!!!"
"Sae!!"
I hazily opened my eyes and I can feel I'm lying on a padded table, my hands are tied down to the table. There's a pinching sensation of tubes in my left arm and right. I lift my self slightly and winched when a tinge of pain was felt on my ribs. I'm in a large room with low ceilings and silvery light. There are two rows of bed facing each other.
I can hear some other breathing from my sides and saw Yuka lying on the exact table as I am and tubes attached to her body, she was unconscious with bruises all over her exposed body, I was aware that I was also in the same state of her. Ayaka was lying next to her, far from me with a heart beat support machine working to keep her alive.
I turned my head to my right and found Sae lying next to me on another table. Her eyes were shut as tubes also ran on her arms, her face was beaten up but it was better than it was last time I saw it.
Last time...
A sharp memory quickly shot up to my mind; it was dark except for a red light above them. A red bloody moon..
I screamed and started struggling as other memories shot up, voices of those who were pleading for help, scream of those who were tortured. My unit, my friends.. Hearing their voices in agony seared my brain at once and started remembering of my own pain. My ribs felt like being stabbed multiple times with daggers, my throat was burning, my head felt like it will split in two as the pain was unbearable..
Just let us die!!! I screamed in my mind as I struggled harder.
This time I managed to rip the tubes out. A beeping goes off but I can't stay awake to find out who it will summon, a sudden drowsiness pulled me back again bellow..

When I finally, truly wake up, the restraints are gone and I was in a different room. A normal room like in the hospital, a cream painted wall and a bunch of flower sat on top of the side bed table. I look around, there were no Sae, nor Yuka, nor Ayaka. Just me myself..
"You're awake.." said a voice. I turned and saw Yuko standing by the door with Noro and Meetan, their face looked tired but they smiled as they approached me.
"What happened..?" I asked them. "What happened to.."
"The others are in other rooms, the four of you need to be separated.. You're the first one to wake up." answered Meetan. Her face looked guilty somehow.
"Why..?" I asked as I sat up. But the pain on my ribs quickly took my breath away and winched in agony.
"Don't force yourself yet. Those ribs still need some mending.." said Noro pushing me down again to the bed. "At least for a few more hours..."
"A few more hours?" I asked. That sounded odd, bones need at least weeks before it can finally back to normal. Not in a few hours."How long was I out?"
"Nine days. Well, how your bones needed to mend that's a long story.." said Yuko. She looked angry somehow and inflicted her anger towards the guilty looking Meetan.
"What happened? You said there were only four of us? Where's the others??" I asked rapidly towards the three. They looked down to the ground looking worried, instead of answering my question.
"Sayaka.." began Noro. "Do you remember anything?"
"I.." Memories shot again to my head, this time much more bearable. It was fuzzy and yet still traumatizing somehow..
"It's fuzzy, but still I can remember we were attacked at night.." I answered.
"I thought so.." said Meetan. "Possibly a side effect of the serum.." she added.
"What serum?" I asked again. I looked over to Meetan and found a guilty expression again on her face. I glanced to Yuko who was silent the whole time, she looked unhappy.
"The four of you were injected by a special serum, developed by Meetan and other scientist." began Yuko. "After the back up team found all of you, you were already in a critical state."
"The higher up commanded to tried out the new developed serum to you guys." continued Meetan. "The serum contained some chemical complex and it's job is to developed abilities of those who were injected by it. One of the possible one is fast healing abilities.."
"That's why you said that my ribs needed a few more hours.." I understood. "But why did you separated us?"
"Well the thing is..." Noro's voice was cut out by a sudden roar from next door and soon a huge loud thud was heard. "That's why." pointed Noro to next door.
"Who..?"
"Sae. I think she's awake now and seemed like the serum has already kicked in." said Yuko stood up from her seat. "You think you can move now Sayaka? We may need an extra help.."

As soon as Yuko opened the door, a vase came flying out. Luckily I managed to dodge it before it hits me square in the face instead of hitting the wall. The room was a rampage now, the chairs were smashed into the wall, the bed sheets were shredded and there were feathers everywhere as a ripped pillow laid still on the floor.
A figure was sitting in corner, sobbing in her nightgown. Her short hair was a mess and near her, a hunk of hair was spread. She moaned as she sobbed hard, it was heart breaking.
"Sae.." I whispered as I ran through Yuko and knelled next to Sae. "Sae, it's me Sayaka." I said as I put my hands on her shoulder.
"Stay away from me!" she yelled and caught my hand before slamming me towards the wall. Her strength was different, than her usual. She slammed me hard to the wall, luckily my shoulder slammed first before my ribs.
"Sayaka!!" yelled Yuko. She grab a hold of Sae's arm which later then the short figure was grabbed by Sae and slammed her to another wall. Yuko slumped down as she hold her forehead which hit the wall hard.
"Yuko!!" yelled Noro. "Oi, Sae!!! It's us, you damn it!!"
"Go away!!!" yelled Sae again, this time she threw an table towards Noro and Meetan. But before it can reach them, the table hit an invisible wall and crashed down to the floor.
"What the.." said Noro as she turned towards the door. I also glanced and saw Ayaka gripping the door as she panted furiously, her hand was out pointing at the room.
"Guys..." she said before she slumped down. Noro rushed towards her immediately along with Meetan.
Sae stunned and I took the chance and slammed her hard to the wall, she hit her head hard before slumping unconsciously next to Yuko. Panicked, I knelled next to her.
"Oh my God, Sae.." I whispered as I leaned down to her forehead which is bruising. "I'm so sorry..."
"Sayaka..." she mumbled. I pulled my head back but a hand behind my back strain me going further, and her forehead was on mine as her sweat cools my head.
"Sa..." but my voice was cut off by a sudden kiss on my lips from hers. I was stunned and when she pulled back, her eyes opened a little.
"I'm sorry too..." she whispered before she blacked out again.

DiVA Project: Chapter 2 - News

"There you go.. That should be fine for now." said Meetan as she applied the last bit of ointment to my bruised shoulder.
"Thanks, Meetan.." I mumbled. I glanced at the peacefully sleeping Sae, we managed to move her to another room after she destroyed the one before. Her eyelids were shut beautifully as those curved lips were also shut in her deep sleep.
I never thought she looked this cute when she sleep.. I thought to myself. Maybe I should take a picture of her soon when she's still asleep..
The knocked was heard from the door, Noro and Yuko, came in with Ayaka on a wheelchair. She looked so pale than ever, so fragile but she managed to give a weak smile with her thin lips. Noro and Yuko looked extremely uncomfortable as they kept on glancing to each other.
"Hey.. You're okay?" I asked her.
She nodded, "Better than before, at least.." she replied. "Noro told me everything. Is Sae.."
"As you can see.." gestured Meetan to the bed. Ayaka's mouth shaped into an o before she shut her eyes for a moment.
"The serum."she opened her eyes. "What are the effects of it?" she asked.
"We still have no clue Ayaka." said Meetan. "The Minister of Defense gave an order to test it out on you guys. You four are among the elites of this task force, losing you all means losing possibly a squadron.."
"I'm flattered to be honored like that." I said curtly. "Yuka is still not up yet?" I asked.
"Well there's quite a problem about her.." said Noro uneasily. I don't like the tinge of uncomfortable in her tone, it's as if she's about to tell something real bad.
"The serum might have an effect on her old cancer." said Yuko lifelessly.
"WHAT?!" I yelled, I glanced at Meetan who hurriedly headed out. "Don't tell me.."
"She's in a coma stage." said Ayaka weakly. "She's on the way to the operating room now."
"Yuka..." I whispered in shock. The second most cheerful girl in the unit after Sae, the girl who always hovered around anyone or stores that has Tokoyaki, is now just in front of an entrance of death..
"No this can't be happening..." I whispered again. I fuzzy memory ran through my mind about that night,
"Run... Yuka.." the sound echoed in my brain. I rambled my memories to remember whose voice is it.
Must be one of the missing... I thought.
"Erm..." a sudden sound from my side, I glanced at the figure sleeping on bed has moved her heads a little in discomfort.
"Sae.." I called. The girl slowly opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling before tilting head slightly.
"Sayaka.." she said weakly towards me and smiled. "Hey.."
"Hey.. You're feeling better?" I asked the tomboy. She nodded weakly before turning her eyes to the others.
"Ayaka.."
"Hey Genki." greeted Ayaka.
"Yuko..."
"What's up?"smiled Yuko back. "Glad you're back." Sae grinned.
"Noro..." said Sae as she glanced at Noro. "You look bigger than the last time I saw you.."
"Oi!!" retorted Noro in annoyance. "I am not!!" I can't help to laugh hearing the blabber from my friends, Yuko and Ayaka also joined the laugh as Noro wring her arm on Sae's neck.
"You're dying and yet you still have the guts to tease me, huh?!" she asked the laughing Sae.
"Ittai.." complained Sae. I still laughed at the scene because it's been a long time since we all have a good quality time like this..
"Okay Noro that's enough." said Yuko assuring the big lady. Sae sighed in relieve as she sat up on her bed, her forehead was covered with a bandage after my rough handling when she had gone berserk. I felt a little guilty seeing it like that..
"So what happened?" she asked to all of us. We told her everything from the recent events until when we get to the serum part, she cut in.
"So does this mean that we're like experimental super humans?" she asked excitedly.
"Well.. You could say that.." tilted Yuko.
"Wow, so cool!!" excited Sae. "What power do I have, huh?"
"Wait you don't remember anything?" asked Noro. "Anything after what happened that night?" Sae shook her head innocently. I face palmed and so is Noro and Yuko. We glanced at each other to whether we should tell her or not.
"Well..." I began. "Seems like you did have some changes from the Serum. But seemed to be not controlling your self that time.."
"Hee?" she glanced. "What did I do?"
"You were..." I felt my face blushed a little as a memory of Sae's kiss flashes, I caught the grinning face of Yuko and Noro then which clearly teasing me out. I shot them a look before they finally keep it down, but still smiling teasingly.
"I was..?" asked Sae.
"You went berserk Sae." said Yuko finally with a serious face this time. "Sorry to say it, but it seems like it was one of the side effects of the Serum."
"Oh.." said Sae awkwardly. "Did I hurt anyone?"
"Don't worry, we've forgiven you." I said.
"Did I hurt you Sayaka? Oh my God.. I'm so sorry.." said Sae in shock.
"It's okay.. You weren't yourself that time." I smiled assuring her.
"But still I hurt you Sayaka..." said Sae guiltily. "You're my friend and I hurt you..."
"I said it's okay!" I assured her and messed her hair with my hand. She pouted in guilty to me as I replied her with a smile.
Ah, I never thought Sae can be this cute when she pouts... I thought.
"What else did I do?" asked Sae.
"Well.." said Noro with an awkward grin. I shot a look to her, if I could send her a telepathy it would clearly said,
"You are not telling her about that kiss!"
Noro gave an questioned look which can be translated,
"Why not? You look cute together you know..?"
I shot her another dangerous look before she finally gave in and throw her hands up.
"Erm, Noro.. What did I do?" asked Sae again looking anxious.
"Don't worry, it's nothing.." Noro's voice was cut off by the sudden ring of Yuko's phone. Yuko sighed and picked up the phone
"Hello? Ah, Takamina!" said Yuko. "What? You found all of them? Okay, we'll head down to there.." answered Yuko before she closed the phone.
"What did Team A found?" I asked Yuko. Yuko's expression was completely in horror now as if she just received another real bad news.
"The Back up Team that went to look for your missing members.." said Yuko slowly. "They're all dead."

@Lost Heaven: Umechan is on wheelchair because it seems like the serum has take an effect on her body which made her very weak and was unable to walk so that's why she use wheelchair. I was inspired by Yuka's past (the real one), she is a survivor from cancer, therefore in this fic Iput in the real fact and add the serum side effect which made her cancer attacking her back. Yes, Sae will always happily be Sae!! You're welcome and please do look forward for the next on coming chapters. :nervous
@Ruka Kikuchi: I didn't quite plan Sayaka to be a tsundere before, being honest. But it seems like this is good to, eh? I'll go with it then~ SaeYaka, people!!
@BbSis: It's okay, thank you for your compliment. :nervous Well, so far out of these people only Sayaka's power hasn't been revealed, I planned to reveal them on the next chapter. DiVA Project: Chapter 3 - Decisions

Masuda Yuka's POV
"Natsuki, let's go to that takoyaki stall!" I yelled as I dragged Natsuki towards the next stall.
"Yuka, you've ate like two boxes of takoyaki already! Aren't you stuffed enough already?"asked Natsuki in disbelieve but still smiling at me.
"Nope! I never get stuffed with takoyaki, you know?" I grinned. Natsuki shook her head as she giggled.
"I guess the nickname of "Takoyaki Musume" really suited you.." said Natsuki with an approving look.
We finally arrived at the stall and bought a box of it before settling down on a bench.
"Natsuki~"
"Yep?" she asked.
"Let me feed you~" I said as I took a whole takoyaki with a toothpick. "Said "aa"~"
"Yuka, it's embarrassing you know.." said Natsuki with blushing face. But she finally obeyed and opened her mouth.
"Aaaummm~" I fed her with the takoyaki. But then she opened her mouth again as she shook her legs in dismay, her face was funnily in panic.
"Gahh!! This is hot!!" she said with a mouth stuffed with hot takoyaki. "Yuka, this thing is still freakin hot you just stuff it in my mouth?" she said uncleanly due to a mouthful of takoyaki.
I laughed watching Natsuki's great expression, "Nee Natsuki, it's not good to eat takoyaki coldly. It has to be straight from the stove!" I said happily.
"Wanna see you doing that.." grumbled Natsuki. I laughed again when I heard that and pat her back.
"Stop grumbling, Natsuki.. It's such a nice day today that we some off time, why spend it on grumbling?"I asked. She smiled and took another takoyaki for herself. In a few minutes time, the box was empty with only a bit of sauce left.
"Aaah~ That was good.." I said as I leaned back on the bench. Natsuki was also leaning back before she spoke.
"Yuka.."
"Yes?" I asked back, as I glanced at her.
"You got a bit of takoyaki sauce on the corner of your lips." she said. I blushed and quickly raised my hand to brush it off, but then a hand gripped it and stopped it in the middle of the air. I glanced at whose hand is it and found it was Natsuki's.
"Natsuki..?"she leaned close to my face before I knew it and pecked the corner of my lips. I gazed at her as my cheek started to feel hot than ever, she pulled back and smiled at me.
"Thanks for taking me out on a walk like this." she said with a glint in her eyes. She stood up and tug my hand that she's still holding, "Let's get back now, Tomomi~ said that she needs some help on the new drills." she said. I nodded and followed her as she lead us back to the base..

The scene changed, we were surrounded in the darkness except for a faint red light from the sky. I felt Natsuki's back on mine as we kept our eyes wide open to our surroundings, I started hearing rustling noises around me and soon some screams.
"What's happening??!!"
"My eyes!!"
"Back up team, we need backup team now!!"
I look around in fear as my heart thumps harder to my chest. I still felt Natsuki behind me.
"Natsuki!!" I yelled. My voice was starting to get sore and also more screams occurred. Screams of agony and fears of the members I recognized.. It was horrible.
"Yuka!!" I heard her voice behind me. A sudden shriek begging for help ran through the air, I recognized that it was Kana's.
"Kana!!" I yelled and I froze when I felt no presence on my back anymore. I look around in panic as I tried to find her, Natsuki.
"Natsuki!!" I yelled as I ran through the darkness. I glanced every single time I stepped but only darkness that I see, my heart thumps faster than ever.
"Yuka run!!!" yelled a voice. I recognized that it was Natsuki's and started running towards her direction, I knew she must be in trouble somehow. But before I could find her a sudden blow to my chest knocked me back before it turned out to be painful and the red light above suddenly goes darker and darker......
"Natsuki..." I croaked before my eyes shut by itself.

Wait, why am I hearing these? Who's heartbeat are these? I thought again. In my confusement, soon I heard more voices.
"The operation is a success, she should be waking up soon.. We've removed the old cancer that grew back due to the serum, so there should be no more traces of the cancer in her body."
"Thank Goodness, Tomomi~! You really have grown aren't you?"
"Ah, thank you Meetan. If it weren't for your teaching I won't be a good surgeon, you know.."
"Meetan stop harassing Tomomi~"
"Shut up Yuko. I'm having a reunion here with one of my student.."
Hmm.. I think I recognized those voices.. I thought again
I opened my eyes slightly and blinded by the lights above, so I pinched my eyes back.
"Erm.. Too bright.." I groaned.
"Yuka!!" yelled multiple voices. I opened my eyes again and saw Yuko and Kasai's face beside my bed, Meetan was clinging at Tomomi happily. I glanced to the other side and saw Sayaka, Sae, and Nonti leaning against the wall with smiles of relieve on their face.
"Guys..."
"You're finally awake, Yuka.." said Sayaka in relieve. I sat up on my bed and find my self surprised that my chest doesn't hurt at all after the last time it was attacked.
"Your ribs already mended in these days." said Tomomi~. "Welcome back Yuka.."
"Ermh.."I mumbled uncomfortably. "What happened?"

Flashback
No one's POV - Room Pioneer
"These are the photos that were sent to us from our satellite." said a short figured girl. She threw in the pictures to the table and leaned back on her chair as she observed her company.
"This can't be... Oh my God.." said Sayaka as she observed one of the picture. It was a horrible picture taken from above, she felt thank full that it wasn't taken from the side. If it were, she felt like she would be sick.
The picture showed an open area which seems to be recently made, since there were trunks of trees torn down by force. A symbol was made in the middle of the area, a some sort of star. When Sayaka looked closely to the images, the symbol were formed by parts of human bodies, still bloody and the expression on the beheaded heads were in total horror.
"Well, those pictures were taken around the same area where they found the four of you. Which was quite odd if I might say.." said another figure standing behind the short girl. She has a short black hair and wearing glasses. "We've been scanning the area for the last ten days with the satellite and today is the first clue on the missing back up team."
"And the last one." said Yuko. "I think I'm going to get sick.."
"Use the trash can at the corner, Yuko." said the short figure again as she pointed her finger towards a trash can which then was approached by Yuko. "Now, I've heard what happened, we have twenty members of the back up team murdered brutally and your unit which has five members of my team still missing without a trace."
"What are you planning to do now, Sayaka?"
"I don't know Takamina, I..." her voice was cut by a sudden grip on her collar by the short figure who rushed straight to her.
"Listen to me Akimoto! You're the leader of the unit, you have five members of mine, three members of your team, five member of Yuki's team and a fresh newly recruited member, and I don't give a freakin Sh*t when you say you don't know!!" yelled the short figure girl angrily.
"Oi, Takamina calm down!" yelled Sae as she gripped one of minami's hand on Sayaka's collar. "Let go off her."
"Minami, calm down..." said the short haired girl as she tried to pull her friend's hands off Sayaka. But Minami kept on gripping it as she stared angrily to Sayaka.
"No Acchan, like hell I'm dropping this off." snapped the one called Takamina to the short haired girl without glancing away from Sayaka's face. "Akimoto look at me! You're risking fourteen lives in your hand now and soon we might have none of them left if you don't start making decisions!!" yelled Takamina again. Her eyes was seriously staring at Sayaka's uncertain eyes, if eyes could kill, Sayaka would probably be dead by now.
"Minami.." said the one called Acchan "Please do calm down.."
"Oi! Takamina, let her go now!!" said Sae as she tried to get Takamina's hand off Sayaka.
"AKIMOTO LOOK AT ME NOW!!"
"THAT'S ENOUGH!!" yelled another voice and all the sudden Takamina, Sae, Acchan were thrown back from Sayaka and hit the wall with their backs. They groaned in dismay as they rubbed their back after being brought hard into the wall. Shocked, Sayaka turned towards the voice and found Ayaka gripping the wheelchair's handle in one hand while the other one pointed out where the trio stood before.
"Ayaka.."
"Ayaka!!" rushed Yuko towards the girl on the wheelchair and knelt beside her. Ayaka leaned back on her chair as she closed her eyes and panting hard, har face was pale. "Are you okay..?"
"Just... A.. Little.. Tired.." panted Ayaka as sweats broke off to her forehead. "And my head hurts.."
"Come on now.." said Yuko in understatement. "I'll take you back to the hospital. You had too much for a day, I think." she added as she hold the wheelchair's handle and pushed it towards the door. She stepped out of the automatic door and glanced behind.
"Guys, I'm taking her back to the hospital. While I'm there, please don't fight and come up with a resolution." said Yuko before the automatic door closed. The four people in the room didn't reply, they were still in shock of what just happened.
"Is that it?" began Takamina as she stand up. "That Project DiVA whatever thing?"
"Possibly.." answered Sae. "And so you've heard, eh Takamina?"
"Captains are informed about things like that too, Lieutenant Miyazawa." said a new voice from the door. The four of them turned towards the door and found a man in his mid forties stood there accompanied with Noro Kayo and a woman in her twenty with long black hair.
"General.." said Sayaka as her eyes focused on the man with respect before she switched it to the woman. "Yuki.."
"General Akimoto." saluted Takamina followed by the others. "What can I do for you, sir?"
"Actually, Takahashi.." said the man scratching his head before settling down on a chair in the room. "I'm here to offer what can I do for you now."
"Eeh?"
"Well, we have a lot to be discussed." said the man again. "Please sit down and Captain Kashiwagi, would you mind explaining to them what I told you before?" asked the man to the one called Yuki. The woman nodded and took a deep breath before she start speaking.
"As you can see. The unit that consist of our members were attacked nine days ago by an anonymous "thing" you might call, and we only found four members of the unit from the total number of eighteen. Not to mention after that we lost half of the back up team later then which today we found..." explained Yuki and she grabbed one of the picture on the table and held it out. "they were already dead."
"And so, we have received the news of the DiVA project later then as I may recall.." nodded Yuki towards Sayaka and Sae. "The project's purpose was to find possibility of human to developed highly power within themselves after a complex chemical reactions."
"Which we saw one just then, I think.." said Takamina. "Umeda Ayaka just produced a some kind of force field, just then I may recall. Strong enough to throw us back.." reported Takamina. The man nodded in approval and gestured Yuki to continued.
"And so, the General's plan which later then was approved by the minister of defense was to create a new unit consist of those who were injected by the project's serum. They are to be trained exclusively by the captains and later then would be sent out for new S rank missions."explained Yuki again. "And this plan will conduct as soon as they all have physically recovered."
"A new unit?" asked Sayaka to the general. The general nodded.
"You may know the unit we have right now are; No3b and NY and FK. It is decided that another unit will be added," he glanced at Sae and Sayaka. "DiVA, that will be the name of the new unit. And I am putting you as the leader again." pointed the general to Sayaka.
"Your first mission would be to investigate.." said the man again. "how on Earth these things happened .." pointed the General to the photos on the table. "to find and retrieve those who were missing, and if possible to end it so that it would not happen again."
"Understood?"

Back to the present
Akimoto Sayaka's POV
"And so that's what happened.." I concluded after explaining the recent events which she missed. Yuka nodded without a voice, I was surprised that she was listening carefully this time. Usually, she's the next person who would listen recklessly after Sae.
"The serum that you mentioned.." said Yuka. "It's meant to give us some kind of super powers right?"
"It's meant to be." answered Meetan. "But again, we scientist still don't know the details. So far we've seen the side effects of the serum and the first one we noticed it's power is Ayaka."
"Speaking of which, where is she?" asked Yuka. "Is she alright? You said she was on a wheelchair, don't tell me.."
"No she's just too weak to walk, possibly because of the serum." said Yuko. "She's just in her room, resting."
"Oh.." said Yuka. Her expression change all the sudden, it was as if she was uncomfortable all the sudden. She placed her hand near her ear as if she's trying to hear something. I glanced at Meetan who just raised her shoulder in confused, I glanced at the others but it seems like no one has any ideas what's wrong.
"Yuka..?"I asked in confused. "Are you okay?"
"Sayaka, can you open the door? There should be two people walking down the corridor towards us in the distance of.." she flinched. "about twenty metres from the door."
"What??" I asked completely dazed. But I do as she told me, I opened the door and poke my head out to see the along the corridor and saw two nurse whispering to each other as they made their way towards us. And the distance.. It wasn't clear for sure, but it's definitely around twenty meters or so from our door.
How did she know that..? I thought anxiously. How can she tell the exact position and the number of people all the sudden?
I closed the door and went back to the room, dazed.
"Sayaka, what happened?" asked Sae. "You looks like as if you just saw a ghost." she giggled.
"What Yuka said.." I said. "she was right about two people walking twenty meters from us.."
"HEEE??" said Yuko, Sae, Noro, Meetan, and Tomomi~ at the same time. They quickly glanced at Yuka who just dazed after hearing my statement.
"I was correct...?" asked Yuka still dazed. I nodded and glanced to Tomomi~, I got an idea.
"Tomomi~ can I borrow you iPod for a second?" I asked the surgeon. She nodded and produced an iPod from her pocket along with a pair of earphone attached to it before handing it to me.
"Thanks.." I said as I stand to the corner of the room. "Meetan, come here. I want to show you something."
"What are you doing?" asked Noro.
"Just watch." I said to the big lady. When Meetan stood beside me, I handed her one of the earphone and told her to put it on while attached the other one to my ear. "Yuka, guess what song we are listening to, alright?" I said as I put the volume as low as possible and chose a song.
When the song played, Yuka frowned and looked concentrated as she placed her hand near her ear again. The music that I hear was quite low in volume and only the ones that has put on the earphone can listen to it.
"Tobenai Agehachou?" she asked. I showed Meetan the iPod, it was as what she just said. Meetan's eyes widened in shock as I shuffled the song again. This time is a slow tempo with soft melodies.
"Safe and sound?" said Yuka again. Earning a squeal from Meetan and a completely shocked expression from her.
"Meetan, what's going on?" asked Noro. "Did she guessed correctly?"
"she did." answered Meetan in amazed. "I think this is your new power Yuka.. Supersonic Hearings.."
"Woa!!" yelled Yuko and Sae at the same time. Both in amazed and disbelieve.
"Oh dear..." said Yuka also in disbelieve. "I thought it was only my imagination when I heard those heart beats..."
"You what?? You can hear heart beats?" asked Sae in disbelieve, Yuka nodded.
"Okay, settle down you guys.." I said as I handed back Tomomi~'s iPod. "Congratulation Yuka."
"Thanks.. Wow.." she said still in disbelieve. "I guess the serum is a success, Meetan."
"Mweh, it was nothing." said Meetan in easiness, I punched lightly on her shoulder and laughed. which later then everyone else joins in.
"So we're officially a new team then?" said a new voice from the door. I glanced back and saw Ayaka standing by the door, smiling with her hand crossed on her chest.
"Ayaka!!" said Yuka happily.
"Hey, congratulation Yuka." said Ayaka lightly as she approached. "Supersonic Hearings? That's got to be so cool.."
"Thanks.." said Yuka.
"Anyway.." said Ayaka. "Takamina just drop in to my room and said that if Yuka is well recovered tomorrow, we start our new training then."
"Takamina, eh?" I asked. "She's a great tactician and fast attacker."
"She'll train us tomorrow along with Acchan, Mariko and Kojiharu."
"Nyan-nyan!!" said Yuko happily. "Nee can I come with you?" asked Yuko with pleading eyes to Ayaka.
"Sorry Yuko, Takamina said not to bring you specifically since she said you'll definitely bother kojiharu." said Ayaka.
"NOOO!!" yelled Yuko in dismay, we all laughed watching the squirrel's funny reaction. I stopped my laugh and stare at my friends, my nakama.
You guys are miracles in my life.. I'm so glad to have you guys. I thought as I smiled one by one to them, which they also returned.
Sae put her hand out in front of her and offered it to me, I placed my hand on hers and smiled. Just looking at her face was relieving, makes me forget about the weight has been put on my shoulder.
"Sae.."
"Sayaka.."
"Yuka!!" said Yuka happily as she put her hand on mine happily.
"Ayaka." said Ayaka putting her hand on top of Yuka's and smile energetically.
I grinned, and smiled at the rest of my friends whom watch us happily. I can feel a little tear at the corner of my eyes, but I ignored it and smile.
"TEAM DiVA, YOSHA IKUZO!!!" I yelled hard.

DiVA Project: Chapter 4 - Training

Umeda Ayaka's POV
The sun shines through the glass window of the room, filling the room with the morning lights after the storm last night. I sat up on my double bed, letting the blanket falls to my lap. I glanced around the room before finally glanced at the left side of my bed. It was empty.
I smiled bitterly before slipping out towards the shower. I turned on the cold water fully without the hot one on too, even know it's quite freezing today. But I didn't care, I deserved it.
I closed my eyes as the cold water trickled down to my body, letting my hair wet as it cools my head. I dig my mind again for the several times since I woke up after that night. A sharp pain on the back of my head welcomed my attempt, managed to me groaned a little in pain. I took a deep breath and bear the pain this time, swirling back into the past events...
Flashback
Everything was chaotic.
I can hear many screams of my friends but I can't see none of their figure in the darkness. Nothing except the faint glow of the red moon above.
I thought it was strange to see such moon, but I knew that I have no time to think about it. I blindly ran through the darkness without a single clue what's going on. Soon I started to hear some strange growls followed by more screams.
"What are these things??!!"
"Everyone stay close!!!"
"Requesting for back up! I repeat, requesting for back up!!!"
I glanced around blindly, so far there were no voice of her ran through the air. I panicked and yelled above the screams as I ran.
"Micha!! Where are you??!!" I yelled for the one and only Nonaka Misato. I've always told her to stay close to me since the start of the mission and now she's lost too in this stupid darkness.
"Ume!!" I heard her voice for the first time yelling. I stopped and run back towards the voice, "I'm over here!! Where are you??!!" she yelled again.
"Micha!! Stay there! I'm coming!!" I yelled back as I ran but before I could reach her, an agonizing scream made me stop.
"MY EYES!!!" bellowed the voice in pain. I widened my eyes when I realized who it was, my first rival since I joined the army recruit; Matsubara Natsumi.
"NATSUMI!!" I bellowed and start running towards Natsumi's voice. Despite our rivalry, I respected Natsumi as a tough person and quite a skilled soldier. There's definitely something bad happened to her just then, and I've just got to help her.
But again before I reached Natsumi, a shriek made me stop.
"UME!!!" I ran back to the voice. It was her voice.
"MICHAA!!" I yelled loudly as I ran again through the darkness, forcing my legs not to go flimpsy.
"HELP ME!!!" yelled her voice again. I can sense fear in her voice at once, making me ran faster. But suddenly a big blow throw me back far and made me fell on my back.
I bellowed in pain, but then a great pain surged where the blow hit me before. I put a hand on it and realized it was my jaw and I whined in pain as I felt my jaw just crack under the touch of my hand. It was agonizing but I couldn't scream since it'll make it worse..
The next thing I felt was a hand wringing my neck in the darkness. I helplessly sighed as I felt it lifting my body up by my neck until my feet hang above the ground. I tried to struggle but I felt my body limped helplessly in a great pain.
I heard her voice again, this time it was faint and sounded far away from where she was before.
"Micha.. Gomen..." I croaked before my lungs can't take it anymore and letting myself plunged into the despairing unconsciousness...

I opened my eyes back and reached out for the shampoo bottle. I grabbed mine and stared sadly to the other one that was unused. After I finished my shower, I put on my clothes before looking at the glass window. My thoughts ran sadly as I remembered how much I've failed.
"Promise me to protect her." said a voice reminding me of the promise I made with someone.
"I'm sorry I failed.." I whispered. "I'll find her back. I swear I will."
"You better b*tch. You've failed me." said the voice that reminded me before. I turned towards the door and saw a thin black haired girl standing by the door, her hands was clenched tightly and I could tell from her face she was furious. It was unusual to see the calm Matsui Sakiko to be in this state.
"Sakiko, I..." my voice was cut off by the sudden grip on my collar by her.
"How dare you..." she gritted her teeth. "HOW DARE YOU LOST HER!!! YOU'VE BREAK YOUR PROMISE TO ME!!" she yelled.
"Sakiko, it wasn't like..."
"SHUT UP!! IT WAS LIKE THAT, DAMN IT!! I TOLD YOU TO TAKE CARE OF HER!!" she yelled as her tears started to tear down her face. "I FREAKING DON'T WANT TO HEAR YOUR REASONS UMEDA!! AND DON'T CARE EVEN KNOW YOU'RE MY SENPAI!!" her grip loosened as she started to sob. "Poor Micha..." she sobbed.
"Sakiko..."
"Shut up.." she said. She gritted her teeth in anger and gripped back my collar, "I SAID SHUT UP!!!" she yelled before raising her fist back, ready to punch. I closed my eyes for possibly another terrible blow to my jaw.
But instead nothing came and only a voice was heard in the room.
"That's enough, Sakiko.."
I opened my eyes and found another figure standing behind Sakiko. Her hand was held out and gripped the pianist's raised wrist tightly, she was younger from any of us but yet her face is so emotionless. Nakatsuka Tomomi seemed to be in a bad mood, but she seemed like she did a better job of cooling herself down.
"Chris.." said Sakiko in disbelieve to the younger girl. "Let go off me, I need to punch her." she insisted as she tried to budge her wrist free.
"Not here and not now Sakiko." answered the one called Chris. "Moeno needs you on the system you made yesterday, something seemed to be broken."
"It can't be. I made it perfectly, I spent like a week without my piano for that thing." but Chris just shrugged and let go off Sakiko's wrist.
"Just go and check on it for now." said Chris. "It's my turn to talk to her." she eyed me.
"But..."
"It's my turn to talk to her. Go now Sakiko."
The beaten down Sakiko let go off my collar and gave me a look before she turned for the door. After her back disappeared, I glanced at Chris.
"Chris, I.."
"Save it for later. I may not be as close to Micha as you too but she's still my friend and yes I am mad at you." she answered without have to hear all my sentence. She walked to the door and stopped there without glancing back. "I suggest you focus on that DiVA whatever project thing and get everyone back in their own one piece. Especially Micha." she added with a bit deepened part on the "Micha".
"You knew about the project?" I asked her.
"Of course. The information that were send to us must go through the data base office, my office." she answered before she left me alone in my room.
I stood there in silence, thinking what has happened. But then my phone rang with a new text message.
Ayaka, where are you?
We're now waiting in Hall Mokugekisha~

I smiled weakly at the message before closing off my phone. I head out and closed the door before walking to the elevator. I pressed the button and the elevator door opened, revealing Takamina leaning on the elevator's wall with her hands crossed.
"Takamina! I thought you're already in the hall." I said as I entered the elevator and stood beside her. The short girl just smiled and straightened up.
"Umeda, can I talk to you about something?" asked the Team A's captain as the elevator door closed by itself.
Akimoto Sayaka's POV
To be honest, I couldn't sleep last night. I was too busy thinking about other things, especially with the new job that the old man just gave me.
"... I am putting you as the leader again."
Then it worries me more why he gave me that kind of position again. Is it for me to fulfill my responsibility as the captain that has lost it's members in one short events? Or is it for me to be a laughable joke? A failed captain, a complete failure..
I opened up my cell phone's photos and pull out a photo of my family. My dad, mum, and my brothers..they're all looked happy in the photo. And I? I was there too. A smiling 13 years old girl in a white dress and a happy smile. It was nostalgic, taken when we had our family picnic in the spring. This photo was taken on our last family picnic together in spring, before they were all killed in a terrorist attack that struck Tokyo years ago.
"Otou-san.. hiks.. Oka-san.. hiks, Oniichan.." I remembered my self sobbing by my self in front of their graves on their funeral. Many of our relatives came for the funeral, but the most exclusive one was my uncle. General Akimoto Yasushi. After the funeral he told me to pack up my bags and go to his house. He adopted me and treated me well, before eventually enrolled me into the military academy.
I sighed and shut down my phone, feeling rather dismay.
"Sayaka-chan~" said a voice before I felt a pair of arm hugging me from behind. "What's wrong? Why do you looked so down just then?" she asked.
"It's nothing, Sae." I said with a dry smile. Her arm somehow swirled tighter on my waist and her head leaned on my shoulder after she took seat beside me.
"Mweh, Sayaka I'm sure it's definitely not a nothing!!” said Sae pouting. I couldn’t help not to smile weakly at the Genki girl, meeting her sparkling eyes.
Sparkling eyes..? I realized that I’ve stared at those eyes for too long, I quickly glanced to the other side.
“What’s wrong Sayaka?” asked Sae.
“Naah..” I said, “just wondering where are the others.”
“They should be here soon.” Said a voice behind us. We both turned and saw Kojima Haruna and Shinoda Mariko grinning with weapons strapped to their backs. The two members of Team A then sat beside us.
“Ready to start training?” asked Mariko.
“Sure why not?” asked Sae energetically. “Where’s Takamina and Haruna?”
“They’re on their way here.” Said Haruna. “While we wait, just tell me is there other effects that you get after you got the serum? Other than the ones we know..”
“I’ve got none. How about you Sayaka?” asked Sae. I shook my head slowly as my mind drifted away..
What about me..? Do I get powers too? I thought to myself, nothing has really happened to me since I woke up other than fuzzy memories. Did the serum failed on me?
No, it can’t be… I retorted. It’s definitely impossible that Meetan and other scientist failed the serum. Or is it myself then that has failed?
My mind just wonders off before finally another voice greeted in. I turned and saw Yuka walking in with another member of Team A, Maeda Atsuko. The two of them were surprisingly sharing a box of Takoyaki before they settle down on the bench. Well, Yuka and Atsuko were friends after all during their high school days.
“Ohayou, minna~”greeted Yuka happily. It would be an impossible thing somehow that the girl has completely recovered from her dying state in less than 24 hours if it wasn’t from the serum.
Well.. I guess the quick healing abilities works fine.. I thought.
“Where’s Takamina? It’s strange that she’s late today, she’s always the one that keeps plastering us to be early..” said Atsuko.
“She should be here soon..” said Atsuko. “Ah! There she is!” she exclaimed. Everyone turned to the door and saw the short captain walking with Ayaka by her side. The look on Ayaka’s face was unusually nervous somehow and looked disturbed.
“… don’t worry. You’ll do fine..” reassured Takamina to Ayaka. She stopped once she arrived at us. “Ready for training now?” she asked energetically. “The serum seemed to be working on you guys nicely.”
“Yeah we’re ready.” I answered as I raised from the seat. “Hall Mokugekisha right? One out of the three best virtual training hall Japan has..”
“Yep that’s right.” Said Takamina. “Okay here’s how it goes, this training section will commence in four stages. First we’ll have a joint training which means eight of us will do a training together. And Team DiVA will have to..” she produced four sets of bell from her pocket. “get these bells from the four of us.” She continued as she handed out one set of bell each to her team.
“The four of us will have the first thirty minutes on the run and when the horn sounded, you guys can start finding us. The time limit for you guys to find us is five hours.” Said Atsuko. “You’re free to use your weapons and your abilities, which means that you are free to use force in order to get the bells. The point of this training is to see how capable you are now with your new powers.”
“Misaki, we’re ready to start now.” said Takamina to her wrist watch which was also a communication device.
“Got it, Takamina-san.” said the voice on the intercom. With no further delay, our surroundings suddenly changed into a rainforest scene. The virtual hall has transformed the insides into a typical rainforest all the sudden, I can clearly hear the sound of exotic bird of the rainforest impressively.
“The rainforest is 10km square virtually.” Said Haruna as she fastened one of the bell set to her belt. “and be careful of the snakes here. The poisons are real.”
“Whew..” Whistled Sae, “As expected of a facility of the greatest strategic team..”
“What could I say?” asked Takamina with a wry smile. “Ready?”she asked her team.
“We’re ready.”
“Wish you a good luck to you guys.” She eyed team DiVA carefully but I can feel she’s much more carefull towards me. As if she has an interest in me somehow.
“The horn will honk in thirty minutes, which starts… NOW!” she yelled. She, Atsuko, Mariko, and Haruna then ran towards the trees in four different directions.
Their backs quickly disappeared into the woods and the greens. It was an awkward silence between the four of us at first before Sae decided to break the silence.
“So.. Who’s going to chase who, may I ask?”she asked as she pulled out her weapon, a foldable titanium rod, before stretching it.
“I’ll chase Haruna.” Volunteered Ayaka, as she pulled her two handheld guns out.
“I’ll get Atsuko then.” Said Yuka as she finished up her last bit of Takoyaki. “You know, I can still their heart beat from here. Like four of them at the same time..”
“Wow, that’s amazing!” exclaimed Sae. “The supersonic hearings you have are really useful in this training..”
“I suppose so.” Shrugged Yuka, “Although, I heard that someone can do a force field here..” she eyed Ayaka as she grinned.
“Well, kind of.. Still struggling to control it though..” said Ayaka.
“Well, if you can blast me, Sae, Takamina and Atsuko at the same time, I guess you can..” I said.
“But I couldn’t control it that time.” Said Ayaka. “I’m not sure if I can control it at all…”
“You can Ayaka. Trust me, you can..” assured Sae as she put her arm on Ayaka’s shoulder. “We’re team DiVA aren’t we?”
“She’s right, guys.. We can do it.” I added nervously. But how about me..? What can I do? I questioned myself.
“Okay, that leaves us to chase either Mariko or Takamina then aren’t we?” asked Sae towards me. “Which one would you like Sayaka? I think you should look for Takamina though.”
“You think so?” I asked.
“Yeah, Takamina is a genius in strategy and I think that you’re the genius among us.” Said Sae. “So genius vs genius.”
“I am not.” I denied, “Ayaka got the highest score in the latest logic test in the whole Team K.”
“Trust me Sayaka, I guess about half of the test. My mind was completely blank when we started the test.” Assured Ayaka as she stretched her hands for a warm up.
“Nee~ You guys are so lucky to be in the same team until now..” said Yuka. “I miss the times when we’re all a team.. But I wouldn’t say that Team B sucks, no.”I looked at Yuka’s eyes and saw a struggle of keeping her tears not to get out.
“Yuka, you’re okay?” I asked concernedly. Yuka just sighed to answer my question and smiled thinly.
“I just miss Nacchi and Kana..” she answered. With the two names mentioned, I felt guilt filling up my chest. Natsuki and Kana were among those who are missing and they’re both are our friends together along with Yuko, Noro, Meetan, and Tomo~mi..
“We’ll find them..” said a voice. “We’ll definitely find them and get them back.” Assured Sae again, she then gathered us to form a circle like what we use to do in the old days before every mission, holding to each other’s back..
“We’re all in this together.” I began. “No matter what, we’ll go through all of this together like a Team.”
“Like a team.” Said Sae grinning.
“Like a team.” Said Ayaka smiling confidently.
“Like a team.” Said Yuka nodding.
Suddenly the sound of horn honked loudly through the forest, signaling the start of the chase. The four of us then separated and started to sprint towards the direction of our targets. Before I get to run further, I could see Sae’s back for a glimpse running towards where Mariko went.
I continued running then. My instinct said that Takamina wouldn’t be that far from me somehow, she’s a fast person but I think she would want to be found. What’s the use of this training if I can’t even find her?
I stopped on my tracks and take some breath. I looked at my watch, I’ve been running for ten minutes now. I looked around before finally looking at the dirt, a set of footprints were sculptured on the dirt ground. I knelt down to examine, freshly made.
“Assuming you haven’t gone far yet, Takamina..” I mumbled before started following the footprints. I stopped in an open grass field where the footprints end, I gazed upon the field and found a figure lying on the grass field face down. I widened my eyes as I realized the familiar ribbon on the hair.
“Takamina!!” I ran towards the figure. But the figure suddenly exploded into a ball of fire before I could reach it, the impact was so strong that it threw me back a few feet. I landed with a thud on the grass field, before I could completely recover, I felt a hard fast stomp on the ground next to my head. It was so fast that it’s blurry, but I am sure it’s there.
I raised from my position which then was quickly jerked back by a pull on my shoulders, forcing me down again. I can see another stomp coming, this time towards my chest. I dodged it by rolling to the side and quickly shot back up in an attacking stance. To my surprise, the mysterious attacker was no other than Takamina herself, in a complete piece of course. She smiled smugly with her hands on her hips.
“Lesson number one, never let your guard down completely.” She spoke. “Do I really have to remind you about that again, Sayaka?”
“Nice trick with the dummy anyway.” I compliment as I pulled out my weapon, a twin headed sword. “Never thought you would use that in an indoor place.”
“Meh, this hall is a tough fella.” She said as she pulled out her own weapon too, a curved Katana with black handle. “I wonder if you are..” she rushed forward and swing her Katana towards my stomach. I parried the attack and spinned my whole body to slash the girl. But the girl quickly parried my attack and swiped towards my leg which later then I dodged with a jump. It doesn’t need much time until our sword crossed with each other.
“I never thought the head of strategy department could be this strong with swords..” I gritted as I put more force to push the girl down. Takamina just grinned and I can feel the amount of strength she gave increased.
“He’eh.. What could I say, Sayaka?” she asked before eventually pulled back and gave a spinning kick which hit me perfectly on my stomach.
“Gahh!!” I was thrown back a few feet and landed hard again to the grass. My stomach clenched in pain as I tried to regain into a sitting position. Takamina stood over me and pointed her katana towards my chin, her eyes looked sharper than ever.
“I can’t believe the captain of Team K could be this weak.” she said with a smug. “I wonder if the general was drunk when he assigned you to be captain..”
“Shut up.” I growled before kicking the Katana with a quick scissor kick and jumped back up. Takamina spun again, this time she managed to land her fist on my right cheek. The sharp taste of blood built in my mouth, I spat it all out on the grass. I glanced back at Takamina, the short captain’s expression was beyond forgiving. She ruffled her pocket before bringing out the set of bells that we’re meant to get from them.
“As a captain, you have a responsibility to take care your own team members..” she began. “Not literally lose them like a toy!!” she yelled before she dropped the bells and stomp on them with one strong stomp. My eyes widened watching the bells easily crushed under Takamina’s feet, I looked up and met her eyes.
“Everyone fights for their goals, Sayaka.” Said Takamina softly all the sudden and glanced to the right side. I followed her glance and I saw another fight going on between the field and the woods. I could see vaguely that another fight has took place in the edge of the grass field.
“Who..?”
“Seems like Mariko got her hands full already..” said Takamina adjusting her Katana back in to it’s sheath. I tried to remember the one volunteered to chase Mariko earlier.
“Sae..?” I glanced back and saw a slender figure was dodging what appears to be a tree trunk being thrown towards her. I widened my eyes in amazement to see who thew it, it was no other than Sae herself. “How did she..?”
“Seems like the serum power has awakened.” said Takamina simply. “That explains the fit she threw that day eh?” Well, seems like Takamina knew about Sae’s incident the other day. But still it was unbelievable to see such an inhumane strength from one and only Miyazawa Sae. Yes, she is energic but I never knew she would be this…
*Click*
I turned back to Takamina and saw her right hand was already curling on a gun pointed at my temple. Her finger was on the trigger, ready to shoot any time she wants. My eyes widened again, meeting her cold irises. It’s my first time seeing the short tactical captain showing her cold blooded side.
“You know, I was wondering when the General told me to crush you guys in training.. I was wondering what to do actually instead of just physically crush you guys…” she then pulled her gun back with a sinister smile on her lips. “But being in the Tactical Department has taught me that if you want to crush your enemy, you should crush their mental..” she aimed her gun again, this time to another direction. “to crush them mentally, you’ll need to take out what’s the most precious thing to them. In that case, I know yours..”
“No…” I gasped, realizing who is she pointing her gun too. Takamina’s record in shooting ranges was the highest one after Atsuko, even without a sniper her accuracy was stillabove 90% with just a handheld gun. “Stop it!! You’re facing me, not her!!”
“Then face me, Sayaka. Face me, fight me if you can.” Said Takamina still pointing towards the fight. I tried to stand up, but my stomach muscle was refusing to cooperate, as if it was being pushed by an invisible force, keeping me on the sitting position. “I kicked yor abs hard enough for it to clench so you can’t stand up.”
“What?!” I forced myself again to stand up, but still my body was not reacting to it. My stomach hurtled so badly when I tried to push up my hips, even with the help of my hand, the pain was unbearable.
“See..?” cooed Takamina. “Look how useless you are now. I want to see how useless could you be when you can’t stop your member from being hurt.” She smiled again. “Or killed perhaps?”
*DUAAR!*
“NOO!!!” I yelled loudly and saw the bullet in the air. Without warning, my body reacted by it self.. I felt wind in my face, so intense that I could feel it’s stretching my skin. All I see was Sae and before I knew it, I was rolling and was lying on top of Sae.
“Sa…Sayaka?” the shock on Sae’s face was wide enough for me to think what have I done. But I seriously don’t know what have I done. “How did you…”
“Did what..?” I asked back. But then I suddenly remembered that a few moments ago I was at least a quarter mile from her fight with Mariko and all the sudden I was already on top of her..
I glanced beside and saw a small hole on the tree trunk in front of us. The hole was charred black as if it was burned through. Then I gasped, it was the bullet earlier..
I glanced around and saw Mariko gapping her mouth in shock. She was staring at the hole then towards us, then back to the hole repeatedly as if she’s still trying to get them into her head on what just happened. Takamina was approaching in, she has big smile on her face as if she just achieved something big. And she did..
“I knew you could do it, Sayaka.” Said Takamina. I stood up and glared at the short woman.
“How could you risked someone’s life just so you can trig me on, huh?!” I snapped at her angrily. It was frustrating to see Sae was in the danger of Takamina’s bullet if it weren’t for my..
“Your power finally awaken, Sayaka.” Answered Takamina. “And no, I have a precaution just in case my prediction was wrong.” said Takamina before she snapped her fingers. A figure stood out behind the tree, it was Ayaka.
“Ayaka..? What..?”
“Takamina asked me to do threw a force field if it didn’t work out for you..” explained Ayaka. “I wasn’t very confident about it earlier, but Takamina convinced me so. But I’m glad it’s alright..”
“Alright huh?” I bluffed. “What if I failed and you failed too, Ayaka?! What if-“ my yelling was stopped by a tap on my shoulder and I saw Sae placing her hand on my shoulder and smiled.
“You didn’t fail Sayaka, you saved me and that’s all that matters now.” Said Sae with a comforting voice. “But really… YOU WERE AMAZING SAYAKA!!!” she yelled before tackling me with a hug, making both of us fell on the ground again. Her genki moods never change, eh?
“Sae that’s enough.” I said. But she hugged me tighter, crushing herself to me.
“Thank you.” She whispered on my ear. It was not like Sae’s usual loud voice, it was soft and yet comforting. “You’re a real hero, Sayaka..”
“No problem.” I whispered back. Then I realized there was an awkward silence among us all, I peeked and saw Mariko, Takamina and Ayaka was staring at us hugging awkwardly.
“Errm, guys?” asked Ayaka carefully with a good attempt not to laugh. Damn, I just remembered that she might knew about that kissing incident. I quickly pushed Sae back and regain back on my feet. Still there is moments of silence after that.
“So…” began Takamina. “As I recalled back, a leader you’re also fighting for your own goals. But you have an extra job to protect and be responsible for your members.” Said Takamina. “You proved it to me, Sayaka. You proved me to trust and support you for the DiVA project.” She offered her small hand towards me.
“Thanks Takamina.” I replied and shook her hand. I can feel the look on Takamina’s face was beyond than just a good discovery, a discovery of regained trust..
“Where are the others by the way?” asked Sae. But just before anyone could answer, a voice from Takamina’s watch came.
“Takamina, come in. It’s me Acchan.” Said a voice who seemed to be Atsuko. “Me, Haruna, and Yuka are already out from the Hall. Gon will fill you in.”
“What do you mean?”asked Takamina with a scrunched eyebrows. The virtual forest suddenly turned back into the big hall. I saw a figure approaching us, it was Nakagawa Haruka or known as Harugon, another member of Team A. She was running as hard as she can towards us and stopped right in front of Takamina, gasping for air.
“What’s going on Gon?” asked Takamina huskily towards the girl.
“It’s Natsumi…” said Harugon. “We found her.”

DiVA Project; Chapter 5 - Eyes and Promises

Akimoto Sayaka's POV
By the time we arrived at the hospital wing, my eyes searched for the operating room and headed there followed by Ayaka and Sae. When we arrived, Yuka, Yuka, and Noro was sitting outside the operating room, all looked anxiously waiting.
“She’s in there.” Pointed Yuka to the operating room. “Tomomi~ and Meetan is in there too.”
“How is she?” asked Sae. But all of them just shook their head in dismay.
“Well seems like she’s bad enough to be in the operating room.” Commented Noro. “I heard that the forensic was sent to the crime scene to gather up for some clues and found her there.”
“Damn it…” I cursed. Matsubara Natsumi was in the same generation as we are, one of the fastest and cunning in close combat. She’s also one of the toughest one to stand on extreme training terrains back in the old days before she was shuffled to Takamina’s team. A very kind person she is, in fact she’s probably the kindest of our generation.
I heard footsteps closing in and saw Takamina walking towards us with Mariko, Atsuko, and Haruna behind her. Takamina’s expression was not happy at all, so does the members behind her.
“There’s something we have to talk about.” Spoke Takamina. “DiVA, follow me.” She instructed before turning her back. I followed her and so does Sae, Yuka, and Ayaka tailing behind me. When Yuko stood up to follow, she was quickly stopped by Haruna.
“Yuko, it’s DiVA only.” Said Haruna.
“If it’s about Natsumi, we have the right to know, Takamina!” yelled Yuko loudly which quickly was smacked on the head by Haruna.
“Yuko, this is the hospital!” scolded Haruna to the squirrel. Yuko pouted to the tall figure that just smacked her head. Well, I do know that Yuko has a certain interest on Haruna since the old days despite their relationship was meant to be senpai and kouhai.
Takamina stopped and seemed to be thinking about Yuko’s word before she finally nodded. “Yokatta. You can come too..” she said before heading off again. She led us into one of the meeting room available in the hospital wing and signaled Haruna to closed the door once we’re all in. Before we get the chance sit, another person came in. It was Kashiwagi Yuki, the captain of Team B and also the head of the hospital wing and surgeon department.
“Shouldn’t you be in the operating room now?”asked Sae to the princess like girl.
“We passed the critical stages already. Tomomi~ is handling the rest.” Said Yuki before she stood in front of Takamina. “You sure you want to show this to them?” asked Yuki to Takamina showing what she brought in her hand, a small wooden box.
“They have to know what happened.” Gritted Takamina. She was glaring at the box as if she was mad about something to the box. I saw Atsuko putting her hand on Takamina’s shoulder, trying to comfort her.
“They’ll pay for it Takamina..” said Atsuko. “Whoever did this to her…”
“They deserved to know it.” Said Mariko before signaling Yuki to hand the box to us. Yuki shrugged but in the same time she was quite tensed holding the box as if she’s holding a time bomb.
“What’s in the box?” asked Sae. Yuki handed the box to me, her hands was shaking hard as she handed the box. The box was light in my hand, but something bad suddenly filled me in. Bad enough to make Takamina and her team furious.
I opened the box and nearly dropped it by the sight of it’s content. I can hear Yuka was gasping in shock behind me, Sae’s yelped, and Ayaka’s scream. I braced myself to observe the object much more carefully, but my stomach suddenly was filled with the sick feelings and ready to throw up if it weren’t for my will to stay cool. And Yuko seemed to be the first one to throw out into the nearest trash can. The sight of a bare bloody eyeball was enough to make threw out her stomach content.
“She was holding the box when forensic team found her. We’re doing our best to get an eye donation from the city’s hospital for her.” Explained Yuki.
“It’s… It’s Natsumi’s..?” asked Ayaka to Yuki. The surgeon nodded in grief towards her, making her expression lifeless as if someone just slapped her really hard that her soul went out a little.
“Oh my God…” said Yuka shaking her head in disbelieve. “Tell me you’re lying, Yuki..”
“When it comes to something this serious, I’m not lying.” Said Yuki curtly. “It was plucked out forcefully by-“
“THAT’S ENOUGH!!” yelled Sae. Her voice was trembling and I know she was in great anger, we all are.. The sight of an eyeball was enough to make us react, especially if it’s your friend’s eyeball.
“Fine.” said Yuki shortly. “She barely made it to the operating room since she lost a lot of blood from that. But thankfully they managed to bring her in straight away.” She added before turning to Takamina. “I need to go now, Takamina. There’s another operation conducting in ten minutes.”
“Thank you Yuki.” Said Takamina before dismissed her out of the room. Yuki nodded towards her and us before heading out.
“Who…” said Sae, her voice was trembling badly. “WHO DID THIS??!” she yelled.
“That’s the million dollar question, Sae.” Said Takamina with a curtly. “Natsumi was found approximately three hours ago in the same crime scene where you were all attacked days before. Nothing was found near her except for her necklace..” continued Takamina before pulling out a necklace out of her pocket. A metallic army tag with silver chain, engraved with the name of our friend.
“The report that came in from the operation room says that she suffered a few broken ribs, a broken right arm, a major concussion, and..” said Atsuko reading of a folder in her hand. She hesitated a little before continuing in a horrified tone, “a plucked eyeball.”
“She must have been tortured.” said Noro in disbelieve, her chubby face was unusually pale. Well, who doesn’t when they see what’s inside the box. “Tortured like f*cking hell..”
“But why…?” I spoke softly, everyone turned their eyes to me. “Why would anyone do such horrible thing to her? To us?”
“That’s what you need to find out.” said Takamina. “The forensic team just sent in the complete report of the scene. I’ll send it to you guys via e-mail by this evening.” spoke Takamina before she stood up.
“You’re going?” asked Yuko. Takamina nodded.
“I need to report this further to Togasaki and the General as soon as possible.” Said Takamina. “I’ll see you guys soon.” She said before leaving the room followed by Atsuko, Mariko, and Haruna.
“Horrible..” spoke Yuka after Takamina left. “Oh my gosh, Natsumi….” She whimpered and buried her face to her palms, and started to sob. We fell into silence as she sobbed. In my mind, all my memories about Natsumi flowed. Her cheeky smile, her failed Antonio Inoki impersonation, her fighting style, her incredible endurance… and her warm eyes wouldn’t be the same anymore..
“Whoever did that, must have been the same one that attacked us.” Said Sae. “And kidnap all of our members..”
“But why would they left us out? Why only four of us?” asked Ayaka to all of us. I didn’t answer nor the others, because our answers are the same.
“I don’t know..” I spoke softly.

After the tension that fell on all of us that afternoon, everyone dismissed themselves. I grab the hold of Sae’s wrist and saw how gloomy her face was. I could tell how she’s feeling, Sae and Natsumi are close to each other since our recruit. Natsumi was the first one Sae got the guts to spoke to before then they became friends with each other. And now hearing Natsumi’s condition must have been shocking to her.
“I need some time..” said Sae with a lifeless tone. I nodded and let her go, watching her walking away before then she started to run. I can tell by the shaking shoulder as she ran, she was crying..
The only one that’s quite bearable would be Yuko and Yuka whom decided to visit Natsumi in her recovery room. As we passed the corridor of recovery rooms, I was reminded by the kissing incident that happened before. I could feel my cheek blushed a little and felt it warm.
Why the hell am I blushing?! I scolded myself. Your friend is now lying nearby with one eyeball only in her body!!
I could feel myself trembling all the sudden. Trembling in great anger to whoever have done this to the innocent Natsumi and the others that are still lost. I was determined to get whoever responsible for those actions, ready to risk my life for it.
“You’re not the only one angry, Sayaka.” Said Yuka all the sudden as if she’s reading my mind. “Everyone is angry after what happened to Natsumi.”
“How did you know?” I asked the Osaka girl.
“Everyone has the same pattern of heartbeat.” She said. “When human gets angry, their heartbeat increased it’s speed by 20% and more.”
“So far, so good for your super hearing skills, Yuka.” Compliment Yuko.
“Thanks.” Said Yuka shortly. After we walked for a few feet, we saw Tomomi~ and Meetan got out of a recovery room in front of us. We quickly approached the two medical specialists and asked about Natsumi’s condition.
“She’s sleeping in there.” pointed Meetan to the recovery room. “We got most of her injuries covered and under control except for the…”
“Eyeball.” gritted Yuko.
“The eye donation we requested will probably arrive by tomorrow.” Said Tomomi~ as she fiddling with her fingers. “So another surgery will be scheduled tomorrow for her if she wants her eyesight back normally.”
“Is there any chance she’ll be able to see normally again?” I asked Tomomi~. The young surgeon just sighed, I could tell she was tired already. But it’s kind of strange to see the current Kasai Tomomi now, she has grown by physically and mentally. I used to remembered how she easily cried over things; scolding, accidentally hurting herself, tireness. But look at her now, she’s not afraid over things anymore. She’s the third best surgeon in the hospital and has performed lot’s of operations involving nasty accident results. Normally she would flinch by the sight of blood and now she wouldn’t flinch even with seeing how human’s heart beating while she’s dealing with an opened stomach.
“Honestly Sayaka, I’m not really sureif I could do that..” said Tomomi~ sadly. “The only person that has done that operation would be Doctor Urano Kazumi, Yuki’s acquaintance.”
“She retired a few years ago didn’t she?” asked Yuka. “I remembered her having the same appearance as Noro.”
“Well, she did retired a few years ago. But I managed to give her a call for tomorrow’s schedule and she said she will do it for us.” Said Meetan. “But that’s not the problem though.”
“Then what’s the problem?” I asked them. The two surgeon looked at each other and sighed in desperation.
“The problem is no one has ever done an eye transplantation to a forcefully made empty eye socket.” said Meetan with a tinge of horror. “The abuse Natsumi suffered there was caused by a force, a strong one in fact. And it leaves her with some infections and all the blood vessels to be running with blood to that empty socket.” Explained the lady. Instantly I felt sick again in my stomach and I am sure Yuko suffered the same thing too since her face started to get green.
“Like it was ripped out of her head…” said Yuka. Meetan nodded with clenched fists, she looked angry.
“Sayaka.” Said Tomomi~ all the sudden, her eyes looked straight to mine. “Promise me you’ll get whoever did this to her.. Promise me you’ll find it out, Sayaka..” Spoke the young surgeon. I can see her eyes was flickering with anger and.. horrified. Reminding me once when she showed the same expression when we were doing the last day of trainee exam. It was the time where it’s decided whether you’ll make it into the army or died horribly. The only person to make it out alive in her own group was Tomomi~ herself, she witnessed how her mates was killed in the exam, how they’re limbs were torn up and burned to ashes..
I was in the same group with Sae and Nonti that time. By the time we heard the loud explosion and we quickly come to investigate, all we saw was Tomomi~ crying under the tree while darkened ground and parts of the examinees robots was scattered and burning to bits. The bruises and burn cuts she suffered that time weren’t compared to her trauma she suffered from that day on. Now she saw almost the same thing again, but this time it happened to Natsumi whom she treated as a big sister..
“You guys always helped me and protected me..” said Tomomi~ as tears started to get out from her eyes. “And Natsumi… She’s the one who gave me strength after the exams, the strength to carry on with life instead of suffering with trauma..” she sobbed. Meetan wrapped her arm around Tomomi~ and soon the younger one hugged back the lady and cried out loud.
“Hush..” whispered Meetan comfortly. “Now let’s get you some rest shall we? You have enough for the day..” said Meetan before leading Tomomi~ towards the lift. Before they went to far, I saw Tomomi~ glanced back towards me with a red face.
Promise me.. she mouthed.
“I promise, Tomomi~. I promise with my life..” I said to Tomomi~. She smiled weakly as when she heard my answer just before the lift’s door blocked my view to her face.
I walked to the recovery room’s window. It was a wide glass, letting us see the whole room from outside. I saw a figure lying on the bed with many tubes and syringes connected to her body. Bandages were everywhere on her body; arms, heads, her torso, and on her right eye. My memories flowed again and reminded me about the sleeping figure there used to be a very cheerful girl and probably everything wouldn’t be the same anymore after this..
“Natsumi..” I whispered to glass window. “I promise I’ll find out who did this to you.. I swear I will with my whole life.”

No one’s POV
As soon as the captain of Team A got out of the meeting room, leaving team DiVA and the others, she told everyone to get some rest and keep an eye out for Natsumi’s condition. Oce everyone gone, she quickly went to the army garage and unlocked her car. Before driving it out of the garage with speed above 100km/hour.
“You know, if I were to count your speeding tickets already, I think it’s enough to sewn together and make a jacket out of it.” Said a voice just behind her. Takamina jolted in surprise and barely hit the car in front of her if it weren’t for her good reflex. She sighed and looked at the back with the mirror above her.
“You surprised me there, Acchan.” Said Takamina to her second in command, Atsuko. The girl was sitting back there for the entire time without Takamina noticing it.
“I have a habit to make people surprised.” Shrugged Atsuko. Suddenly her face looked worried, ush different than a few seconds ago. “Minami, what’s wrong with you..?”
“What do you mean what’s wrong?” asked Takamina back as she kept on driving with high speed. Atsuko sighed and jumped on the front passenger seat so she can be next to Takamina.
“I know you were angry back there, Takamina.” Said Atsuko. “You anger wasn’t mostly caused by the injuries Natsumi suffered. You were mad about something else, you were mad by someone else..”
Takamina stopped the car by the side road and leaned back on her seat, “I just can’t forgive her, Acchan..” spoke the short captain with a lifeless tone. “I can never forgive her and her uncle.”
“Takamina..” said Atsuko before reaching for the short figure beside her. “Let it go, Takamina.. There wasn’t anything we could do to safe her..” she whispered as she hugged the captain.
“Natsumi is a good person you know.” fumbled Takamina. “She’s the one to gave me a solution to make up with you..”
“I know she is Takamina. But…”
“And now look at her, she’s there dying with one eye left to use.. She doesn’t deserve it, Acchan. She doesn’t..”
“Takamina-“
“AND IT’S ALL HIS AND HIS NIECE’S FAULT!!” yelled Takamina before she broke up Acchan’s hug and punched the steering wheel. She buried her face on her palms and start sobbing. “AND THEY ALMOST DID IT AGAIN AFTER THAT NIGHT!!”
“Takamina..” said Atsuko concerned. The girl hugged the sobbing captain and felt Takamina’s tears started to wet her chest. “You need to let it go.. She wouldn’t want you to see you like this..”
“But she wouldn’t die if it weren’t for him and his niece..” gritted Takamina. “My sister’s death wouldn’t happen if it weren’t for Akimoto Sayaka and Akimoto Yasushi!!”

DiVA Project: Chapter 6 - Secrets

Akimoto Sayaka’s POV
The stormy night were taunting as ever as we ran through the forest, our clothes were soaked and getting heavier by each minute we run under the rain. The sky above us were flashing with lightings and claps of thunder, but that doesn’t stopped us from running. Shade wasn’t the reason we were running for, the ones that were chasing are the reasons..
“How long are we going to run like this?!” yelled Yuko from behind.
“For about 5 more miles!” yelled Natsuki just behind me as the navigator. She was running behind me the whole time, giving the directions and navigations as she was a qualified navigator.
“Great..” grumbled Noro. “And how the hell did we run out of ammunitions by the way?!!”
“It’s not that we ran out.” Said Meetan. “They’re just immune to ammunitions.”
“Okay. I asked the wrong question..” said Noro. “Just how the hell are they immune to ammunitions?!!” yelled Noro.
“One thing for sure, they’re not humans.” said Kana just beside me. “They were savage creatures that will tear our limbs if we don’t keep running.”
“Speaking of savage creatures..” said Ayaka. “We really did pissed them didn’t we?”
“Who threw that grenade into the temple?” I asked for the first time. “Whoever did that, that’s their fault for making us to run.”
“Guilty.” said Yuko before I could hear someone smacked her hard on the head. “But hey! We got what we need already!!”
“Still!” yelled Noro. “If it weren’t for that grenade, we wouldn’t have to run like this!!”
“Guys, we should focus on running now.” encouraged Natsumi. “The base said they’ll arrive at the meeting point in 15 minutes and we still got… How much we got left to run?”
“4 miles more or less.” Answered Natsuki. “I swear I’m getting a new boots when all of these craziness are done.. I can feel a whole in my sole.”
“You’re not the only one..” said Meetan.
“Guys!!” yelled a voice far away behind us, I stopped running and ran back to the kneeling Yuka and Tomomi~. She was kneeling beside a girl who was gasping for air. “She’s having a hard time breathing..”
“Are you okay?” I asked the girl. “Can you still run?”
“I’m… I’m fine..” gasped the girl. “Let’s keep going!” she said as she went straight up but then stumbled again to the ground if I didn’t catch her.
“No you’re not.” I said. “You should have told me earlier that you’ve got a flu, Erena.”
The girl just smiled weakly and pushed off my arms from her, “If I were to told you and my sister, you wouldn’t let me into this crazy adventure.” She said.”Let’s go. I can still keep going, I don’t want to be a burden to any of you guys.”
“It’s not about being a burden, Erena.” I said. “I’m responsible for you and everyone in this mission. I can’t let you return with this condition!”
“I SAID I’M FINE!” she yelled. And suddenly the sound of rampage become louder and closer. “They’re getting closer. We have to run, NOW.” She said before she run passed me and the others, but her steps were stopped by someone’s grab on her wrist. “What?” she eyed Sae’s grip on her wrist.
“At least let me carry you, Erena.” Said the genking. “It’s not Sayaka’s only responsibility, it’s everyone’s too. We have to watch each other’s back as a team. So if you still want to keep going, let me carry you.”
“No way! I’m just going to burd-“ her voice was cut off by Sae’s attempt to carry her in bride style. “Hey! Let go off me!!”
“Shut up and listen to me!” yelled Sae. “If you don’t want to be a burden to all of us, you shouldn’t join us at all, Erena!! Because what you are doing right now, you’re doing exactly what you said don’t want to do!!!”
Erena’s expression fell as if Sae just slapped her hard, really hard. She shut her mouth and nodded slowly without looking at Sae’s eyes, I could tell she’s trying to hold off her tears.
“Let’s keep going.” Said Sae shortly. I nodded and run past her, followed by Natsuki and Sae before the others tailed behind.
“There’s a bridge in front of us soon, we have to pass it to reached the meeting point.” Informed Natsuki after we run for a few minutes. I nodded and kept my eyes focused to thefront before finally stopping just in front of the promised place. It was a narrow bridge that connects one cliff to another. I looked bellow and saw no bottom of the cliff’s depth.
“Okay, we’ll go across in three people at a time.” I instructed after seeing the bridge’s old condition. I’ll go first with Noro and Yuko. When we can cross it to the other side, the next three will go.”
I nodded off to Noro and Yuko before I took the first step. The wood creaks under me and the other’s two weight, but I keep my self calm and took slow steps on the bridge. After the haunting walk on the bridge, we finally made it. I sighed in relieve before finally instructing for the next batch to go for it. It was so far a good progress until the last batch tried out the bridge; Sae with Erena.
I gritted my teeth. I just remembered that despite her energetic and outgoing attitude, Sae was known to be scared of heights. And in this case, the bridge’s height is a challenge for her especially with Erena in her arms.
“Come on, Sae!! You can do it!!” yelled Natsumi and Tomomi~. The tomboy threw a nervous smile before eventually step on the wooden boards just in the middle of the bridge. The board suddenly crushed under her feet, making one of leg her fell into the wooden hole.
“Huaa!!” yelled Sae as her leg fell in. Erena fell to the wooden board and rolled off a few feet from Sae.
“Sae!!” I yelled and attempt to approached her. But suddenly something stopped me, the sight of those creatures just by the other side of the bridge slowly coming out of the bushes.
“Oh, crap..” said Yuko. “They managed to caught up..”
I gritted my teeth and looked into Sae’s pleading eyes. She was scared off her guts of course and tries to pull on the bridge’s rope for support. I looked into the baring teeth of the creature before rushing towards Sae.
“Go for it! I’ll catch up with you guys!” she said as she tried to pry herself off the hole.
“Like hell I will!!” I yelled to her. “We left the base with eleven people and I’m not coming back with people less then that!!” I gripped into her arms and finally managed to pull her out.
*STASH!!*
The bridge suddenly shook hard, as one of the bridge’s ropes were snapped off. I keep my feet steady as Sae’s arm circled around my waist like a kid to their mum.
“They’re chewing off the ropes!!” yelled Kana.
“We’ve got to get out of here, NOW.” I said before pushing Sae in front of me to the side where our friends were watching. The bridge shook hard as the creatures started to get on the bridge. “HURRY!!” I yelled. Finally we both managed to arrive at the safer side but the creatures were getting closer by each seconds.
“Wait..” said Sae panting. “My foot… I think I sprained it..” she said clenching to her foot which fell back in the bridge.
“Right now??!!” I asked. Sae nodded in dismay and I could see she’s really trying her best to hold the pain down.
“You can leave me guys..” said Sae all the sudden. “I’ll hold them off.”
“Just like I said, Sae.” I began carefully. “I AM NOT LEAVING ANYONE BEHIND!!” I yelled to her face. “DON’T YOU DARE TO ACT COOL IN THIS SITUATION, MIYAZAWA SAE!!”
“I AM NOT!!!” she yelled back. “I’m trying to offer you a safe passage so that you guys keep alive.” She said.
“AND SACRIFISING YOURSELF IS NOT THE ANSWER!!” I yelled back.
“THEN WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO NOW?!” she asked back with anger.
“I…” honestly I didn’t know what to do now. The whole situation was too fucked up for my brain to take on. I looked at my team members then to the creature on the bridge which were edging closer.
“I’ll go.” Said a voice all the sudden. I glanced to the source of the voice and found Erena put her hands up.
“Erena… You can’t-“ said Yuka but was cut off.
“Don’t tell my sister that I left yesterday with flu, she’ll get worried.” Said Erena as she pulled out a gun. “ Tell my other sister that she could eat my cake portion in the fridge, it’s meant to be hers since I sneakily eat her part afew days ago.”
“Erena..”
“Tell Myao next week on her birthday that I’ve got her present stored under my table. She could find it there easily.” Said Erena again as she tied her soaked hair. “And as for you guys…” she turned her face towards all of us and looked into each our eyes with such lovely eyes. “Goodbye and take care of yourself, minna.. Be safe.”
“ERENA!!”
“Oh, and one more thing for my sisters..” said Erena. “Tell her that even know we’re not related by blood, I love them..” she said with a sad face before rushing off towards the bridge.
“ERENA!!!” yelled Sae after Erena passed her. She tried to chase her. And just before she could step on the bridge, I stopped her by the sight of a metal ball in Erena’s fist.
“SAE, NO!!!” I yelled. Just in the exact time, the ball exploded. The impact was big that it pushed both of us back quite far. I can feel my arm stinging with burning air and my ear buzzing. Sae was on top of me, and I could tell she’s unconscious.
“SAYAKA, SAE!!” I could hear someone yelling our name. I tried to breathe so I could answer back, but the black smoke filled my lungs and made me cough instead. My eyes hazily could see the bridge erupted in flames before finally it fell to the cliff’s depth.
No, Erena… I thought hazily. My arm tried to reach for the bridge, but the bridge wasn’t there anymore. Only a few parts of the bridge left smoking after the flame was poured by the rain.
I could feel someone lift Sae off me and lied her off beside me. My eyes were fuzzy, unable to see whose figure it is. I can feel someone ripped out my shirt and placed pressure on the exact place that I could feel the biggest pain I’ve ever experienced. So painful that I scream in the top of my lungs and blacked out immediately.

I opened my eyes in a quick flick and sat on my bed straight away. I was gasping and I could feel sweat builds up on my whole body. My heart beats in an unstoppable beat, the nightmare really had turned it on.
“What’s wrong?” asked a voice in the darkness. It was Sae’s voice, she’s always sleeping beside me since we’re room mates. “Did you get a nightmare?”
“Yeah..” I brushed off my sweat with my hand. “Ono Erena’s death…”

Library
Ayaka wasn’t the study type of person at all, but for the first time she’s trying to be one. All the books and folders that were related to the crime scene locations and their missions before laid out in front of her, waiting to be read one by one. Ayaka sighed and closed one of the mission folders from a few years ago, nothing can be found from it at all. She threw the folder she just read to another pile which she has read and leaned back on her chair. Her thoughts flown away as she tried to remember her last mission, the ones that ended up in disaster..
The flashback made her head hurt again, she stopped and opened her eyes. The memories of Nonaka Misato passed through; her warm eyes, smiles, laughs… Ayaka missed them all so badly.. She haven’t being completely honest to herself, but she knew Misato isn’t just a “friend “ to her and wasn’t just a “roommate”. There’s more to that..
“Excuse me, senpai…” said a voice behind her. Ayaka turned and saw a girl just behind her bringing a pile of folders that she has requested before. She smiled, the girl was still a trainee and she was appointed to the library shift. The girl was eager to help Ayaka on finding the folders she requested.
“Ah, please put it here..” pointed Ayaka towards the big table in front of her. “Thank you for helping my research, by the way..” the girl nodded before putting down the pile.
“It’s alright, senpai.” Nodded the girl with a smile. “Nee… Even know you’re already graduated from the trainee, you still study, eh senpai?” commented the girl looking at the mess on the table.
“Yeah. Graduation isn’t the end for studying..” said Ayaka. “There’s a lot to study in the trainee days but there’s more to study once you graduated from that.” Explained Ayaka. She found the kouhai here quite interesting somehow, so different than the other trainee she met before. She seemed to be the type that’s willing to learn new things..
Exactly like Misato… thought Ayaka. She didn’t realized that she was staring at the girl for a few moments..
“Senpai, are you alright..?” asked the girl. Ayaka shook her head, returning back to Earth after the blanked head.
“I’m fine..” mumbled Ayaka before straightened up again. “Thank you by the way for helping me.”
“No problem, senpai. If you need anything, I’ll be around until next week in the library shift.” Said the girl before she bowed and turned away.
“Wait..” said Ayaka again. The girl turned back with a questioned look, “What’s your name? So I can find you if I need more help..”
The girl just smiled again, showing her teeth. “I’m Nakamura Mariko. You can call me Komariko, Umeda senpai.” Spoke the girl. “Just tell me if you need anything~” she said before rushing off towards the library’s office.
After the girl disappeared from the sight, Ayaka returned back to her work. Her eyes suddenly caught a folder with a familiar date printed on the cover, her eyes widened before she picked up the folder and examined it. After a few minutes reading it, she fell into silence. Thinking about the relation it has to the crime scene. She went through the folder that Takamina sent earlier and found what she’s looking for.
“Same location…” she mumbled. Her eyes went back and forth on the folder that Takamina sent and the other folder she found. She left the table and headed to a certain section, she stopped in front of a big bookshelf. Looking for the right title, she grab the correct book and walked back to her station. Opened up a few pages, and voila’..
“So that’s how it is…” Ayaka mumbled again. Her brain jumbled, trying connect each pieces of the puzzle that she found. Her eyes widened once she finally realized all the answers. Now she only need one more thing to confirm it all..
She walked out of the library after writing off the things she needs to bring on the borrowing book. Her heels headed off to a place where the last piece she needs, the place she isn’t exactly hoping of to go to. But the only way to get access to her answer is within that person after all..
She stopped in front of a sliding door and scan her ID on the scanner. The door opened to another room, filled with people busily with their programs. Once Ayaka stepped in, she knew that everyone in the room realized that she has just arrived.
“What are you doing here?!” asked a voice not far from her. Finding Sakiko already stood up from her chair. “You still got the guts to come here??!”
“I’m not here to fight with you Sakiko.” Said Ayaka coolly. “I need to see Tomochin.”
“Did someone just mention my name?” asked a voice calling out from far back the room. A turning chair turned and revealed a petite looking girl sitting leisurely. “Ah, Ayaka. Glad you’re still in one piece.”
“Yes I am.” Said Ayaka before approaching the girl’s desk. “I need an access to someone’s folder.”
“Whoa!” exclaimed the girl. “And since when do you have the authority to do that?” Ayaka rolled her eyes and get her mouth closer to the girl’s ear. She could feel the girl tensed up hearing what she whispered.
“Very well..” said Tomochin shrugging off a bit. “Follow me.” She walked out of the office but then popped her head back to the room again. “Everyone, back to work!!” she yelled.
Ayaka followed the petite girl walking on the corridor. It was a long way and Ayaka knew they’re stranded somewhere else, the corridor was old passage. Tomochin stopped her steps before she turned to Ayaka.
“We’re safe here.” Said the girl, Itano Tomomi or known as Tomochin. “No surveillance cameras and bugs.”
“Why are we being secretive?” asked Ayaka. “I thought you would take me to the information base.”
“I didn’t take you there because what you need isn’t there anymore.” hissed Tomochin. “The folder you need was destroyed.”
“How can it be destroyed?” hissed Ayaka. “Aren’t the information base meant to protect those kind of folders?”
“Obviously, Ayaka..” hissed Tomochin after she rolled her eyes. “The only reason it was destroyed is because it contains something really classified.”
“So classified that you can read it Tomochin?” asked Ayaka back. Tomochin glared and sighed.
“Don’t you dare being rude to me. I might be younger than you, but I’m still your senior.” Glowered Tomochin. “I’ll tell you, I managed to read about it since I was sent on a S rank mission once with her.”
“Then tell what you know. This is important.”
Tomochin sighed, “I wasn’t sure what it was meant to be, but I saw a description of her being part of what so called “Lunar Project” . I tried to find out more, but I was still little that time and Togasaki found out that I was searching for it. He scolded me and made me swear that I wouldn’t try to find out more about it.”
“Lunar Project?” asked Ayaka. The name doesn’t ring a bell at all on her head, “Does her sister knew about it?”
“I don’t know. But I’ll tell you who might knew it..”
“You don’t need to tell me, it’s either Togasaki or the General himself.” Said Ayaka.
“And you’ll be dead meat if you asked them about it.” Said Tomochin. “I know another person that might knew about it since now she’s the General’s secretary..”

An hour later at the End Roll Bar
Ayaka tapped on the bar table as she waited patiently for the person she called before. The only way to safely talk to her was not to be in the base basically and End Roll Bar is the best place for it. The young woman drank her glass in front of her, soft alcohol with more citrus juice than the alcohol itself.
“Already drinking in daylight? You must be depressed..” said a voice next to her. Ayaka turned and found the woman she’s been waiting for, sliding in on the chair beside her. “Vodka please.” She ordered the bartender.
“Well, this is just light alcohol.” Said Ayaka mixing her glass. “Look at you, vodka in the middle of the day?”
“Hey, it’s cold outside you know!!” exclaimed the big lady before accepting the vodka for the bartender. “Speaking of which, you better have a good reason why did you call me out here.” She said playing with her vodka.
“Don’t worry, I do.” said Ayaka before putting down her glass. “Tell me what’s Lunar Project is all about.”
Noro stopped playing with her vodka and placed it back on the table. Her expression is hard to read even when she’s not drunk yet. “How did you know about it?”
“The crime scene where we were attacked was in the same area as the place we blew up that temple.” Began Ayaka. “The temple we blew up was dedicated to the Goddess of the Moon, Diana. And about a few miles from there, is the crime scene.”
“So? Coincidence happens right?” asked Noro before taking a sip of her vodka.
“The day we blew up the temple, it was the day where the moon turned red because of an astronomical event occurred. We couldn’t see it because it was raining and still it happens.” Said Ayaka as she pulled out a few notes that she managed to write up about the event. “The day we were attacked on the crime scene was also on the same event which happened once in three years.”
“So what’s that got to do with it?” asked Noro again looking unconvinced.
“The name of “Lunar”, is another term for the “moon” and don’t you think all of these are connected?” asked Ayaka. “We were attacked on moon’s special event, the temple we went on that mission is dedicated to the moon Goddess and our friend who died on that mission was involved in “moon” regarding mission.”
Ayaka watched Noro finished her last gulp and slam the glass on the table. The big lady was silence for the whole time as if she’s reconsidering about something. Noro just grinned and shook her head.
“I’ll tell you one thing, the military was a big idiot when they decided to make that Lunar Project.” Said Noro.
“What do you mean?” asked Ayaka.
“You’ll see.. I-“ her voice was cut off by a phone ring that can be only hers. Noro rolled her eyes before answering it. “Yes, Noro Kayo here.. What?! Okay, I’m heading back with Ayaka.”
“What’s wrong?” asked Ayaka watching the lady struggled to get off her chair. “See, now who’s drunk now?” she teased after she caught Noro stumbling.
“Shut up..” grumbled Noro. “Sae just called, we got a visit from the missing ones. And they are currently rampaging at the base.”

Miyazawa Sae's POV
Fifteen minutes ago
The sky was so cloudy outside and was ready to rain, but the sky seemed to be doing it's best not to spill it's tears to the Earth since no rain has occur when it's meant to be. I walked quietly inside the hospital wing and walking on the recovery room corridor. In my hands was a bunch of flower I managed to get from the flower shop in the city earlier, it was made out of bunches of flowers that is meant to be scheduled to be bloomed in Summer season. Somehow I managed to get them for a good deal in this season with the flower shop. I didn't care how much I have to pay, she deserves it.
"Natsumi..." I whispered. The summer flowers, in Japanese. I remembered her smile, just as beautiful as the bunches of flower in my hands. I stopped in front of a door where Tomomi~ has told me that she was sleeping there. I knocked softly before entering the room.
I felt guilty not to brace myself to visit her yesterday with Sayaka, Yuko, and Yuka. I just couldn't bare it enough after seeing her eyeball in that box, the eye that I used to see warmly when I met her. Now she's lying there on the recovery bed with tubes, syringes, and other machinery around her attaching to her body, keeping her alive. Her eye was closed while the other one was covered with bandages, as she breathe peacefully to the oxygen mask. Her right arm was sitting on her stomach which was also bandaged up since it's broken. I approached her slowly and put the flower bunch in the empty vase, then I sat on a chair on her left side of the bed.
Tomomi~ has told me not to wake her up since she'll be scheduled soon for the eye transplantation surgery. But I slowly hold her left hand and clenched to it lightly before edging closer. I closed my eyes, trying to remember all my memories with her.. It was painful. So painful that the warm eyes that I always saw within her wouldn't be the same anymore.
"Natsumi..." I brought my her hand close to my lips. "I'm here.." I whispered to it before kissing it lightly. My eyes suddenly widened when I felt a little pressure to my hand, it was little and fast but I'm it's Natsumi's.. I looked at her face, still closed eye and softly breathing.
"Natsumi..." I murmured. "Can you hear me?" But no answer came anymore, no more pressure on my hand anymore.
*KRIINGG!!*
Shoot! I forgot to turn off my phone!! I thought, letting go Natsumi's hand and jammed the answer button.
"Hello? Miyazawa here."
"Sae? Where are you??" said Sayaka's voice on the line. Her voice was unusually in panic tone and I can hear all the buzzing noises through the line.
"I'm at Natsumi's room. What's with the riot there? I can hear it all the way here!" I exclaimed.
"Sae, you better-" her voice was cut off by a loud explosion voice which managed to make me jolted up in surprise.
"Sayaka!! Where are you??!" I asked loudly through the phone. Something is happening on Sayaka's side..
"Huff.. That was close.." said Sayaka's voice after a bit of a pause on the line. "We got some visitors. Well, literally we got them back.."
"Who got back?!"
"All I can see now are Tanamin, Kana, Amina, and Masana"
"Kana..?"
"Yeah, but-" her voice was cut off again by a gunshot this time.
"Sayaka!!"
"The receptionist, Sae!!" yelled Sayaka's voice through the phone. Her voice seemed far away as if she had dropped the phone and yelled loud enough for me to hear. The phone then suddenly went bezerk before it shut down the line. I cursed and turned to the figure sleeping on the bed.
"I'll be back soon." I whispered to her ear before landing a soft kiss on her forehead. "Be alive, Natsumi.." I whispered again before tearing down the corridor without closing the door.
Akimoto Sayaka's POV
I cursed silently as I clenched to my bleeding arm. The bullet earlier only managed to scratched me in the forearm, but still it's painful. I stayed low behind the receptionist platform as I keep my eyes and ears wide open for awareness.
"Where are you Sayaka?~" cooed a voice through the hall entrance. I gritted my teeth, I recognized the voice. "Come out, come out wherever you are~"
"Kana is that you?" I asked loudly before setting my feet to run again as the sound of bullet ringed in the air again before piercing through the platform. I stopped just a few meter in front of her. "What did they do to you..?" I asked still clenching to the bleeding arm.
The figure lowered it's gun and smiled, so different type of smile that I used to see from the same face. " To answer your question, Kobayashi Kana is long gone. I locked her in."
"What do you mean "locked in"?" I frowned and dodged just in time before she shot another bullet. I run and stop a few meter on her right.
"It means you'll never see her again." said Kana with an evil smile. "You're fast. I've read all of her memories about you, Akimoto Sayaka. And I have to say, Kana is so obvious to adore you well.."
"Give Kana back!!" I yelled before I run across her with my power and punched her right in the face before she could shoot another bullet. Even know it's Kana's body I'm punching, I couldn't help not to grimaced. It's not Kana... It's somebody else in there.. I thought to my self before finally stop on her left.
"Very fast.." said Kana with a sadistic grin as she rubbed off the blood from the side of her lips. "But..." she shoot another bullet and I dodged it to my left side. Before I could look back at her she was gone.
"I'm faster." whispered a voice just behind me. I could feel the cold steel mouth against my back head. I cursed. "Now, now.. No swearings and put your hands up where I can see it nice and clean. My mistress wants to see you."
I put my hands up, "Your mistress?"
"Yes. She'll be waiti-" before she could finished her sentence, I released a super fast spinning kick to her gun hand and managed to throw her gun away. But she then welcomed my turned face with a powerful punch to my jaw.
"Gahh!!" I flew back a few feet from her thanks to that punch. Then I saw her standing over me with a pissed off face.
"You really do like to test my patience eh?" she asked before she stomped on my chest really hard. I groaned as the sharp heel pressed into my chest with such a powerful pressure that I then released a scream. "My mistress said that she wished to see you alive, but she didn't say anything about not having you in different pieces.." she said before moving her heel to my right shoulder. "So I guess it's fine for me to step here." she added before stomping on my shoulder really hard.
I screamed on the top of my lungs, I screamed as the hellish heel started making it's effort on crushing my shoulder. I can literally feel my shoulder bones was beginning to crack under the pressure,so painful that I feel like blacking out soon.
"That's it..." laughed Kana hard. "Let me hear that scream of yours!! Let my longing torture desire be satisfied!! Let that stupid girl hear your agony!!" she yelled as she twisted the heel, making the effort to crush my shoulder increased twice easier.
*CRASH!!*
Suddenly the whole floor shook hard and the next thing I knew that Kana was pushed off me and something dark hovered above me. I can feel heat surrounded me and I sniffed some smokes. I tried to clear my eyes so I could see what is exactly hovering over me.
"WHOAA!! THAT WAS FUN!!" yelled a voice from my right that I could recognized, somehow sounded off like some has been drinking too much. I can hear the sound of slamming door then. "Let's do it again one day, eh~"
"Never in one million year.." said another voice from the left before I hear another slammed door. "Like hell I'm going to let you drive the car while you drunk again."
"Hey it was only ju- HIC*" said the drunken voice. Then I can hear the sound of someone vomiting on the room's carpet, "Damn, that vodka cost a lot for a glass.."
"That's your own fault for drinking in the middle of the day.." answered the other voice.
"Hey! It's you that invited me to the bar!!"
"But I didn't asked you to drink especially that much vodka, Noro!" yelled the other voice.
"Hey guys~" I called from bellow the car. "A nice crashing. But I could use a hand here please~"
"Sayaka?" asked the voice on my left. The face of Ayaka peeked bellow the car and saw me. "What are you doing there?"
"Long story. But please get me out of here." I pleaded. "Careful with my right shoulder, I think it's broken."
I can feel a pair of hand pulled me out carefully from under the car and set me down just against the car's wheel. I glanced up and saw Ayaka bending down to examined my shoulder as well as Noro limping towards us with a red face and full of grin. "Is she drunk?" I asked Ayaka.
"Yes she is." said Ayaka. "Your shoulder really seemed to be broken again. Tomomi~ is coming soon, is there anyone else beside you here?"
"Well they killed the guards when they make their way here, so they're not alive.." I explained. "But you just crashed into Kana there, so I thin-"
"WE WHAT??" exclaimed Ayaka before glancing towards the direction to where I was pointing. Kana was lying motionlessly on the ground with a dripping forehead. "Oh my Gosh, Kana.." she tried to approached her but I gripped Ayaka's wrist.
"Wait. That's not Kana." I said with a serious tone.
"But it's obviously her!!I mean looked at her face!" said Ayaka confusedly.
"It's her body, but it's not her." I explained. "Whoever controlled her was the one who broke my shoulder. Kana said to be somewhere else.. Locked."
"What do you mea-"
"Trust me Ayaka, whoever in there was doing a good job of trying to bring me down and used Kana's body to do so." I said. Ayaka stared at me then glanced at Kana's body before nodding.
"I got it.." said Ayaka. "Where's Sae?"
"She said that she was with Natsumi when I phoned her. She should be on the way here or-" suddenly the entrance hall shook hard. And loud noises were heard on the second floor. "Must be another fight.."
"Who else came here?" asked Ayaka walking over to the snoring Noro. "Damn, she snores when she's drunk. I can't believe the General made her as a secretary.."
"Amina, Tanamin, and the new recruit, Masana."I answered. "It seemed like they're also on the same case as Kana.."
"Well then, we've got something to do don't we?" asked Ayaka before walking over to the car's luggage store and opened it. "Wow. Noro seemed to be prepared for this kind of situation.."
"What has she got in there?" I asked before standing behind Ayaka. My eyes widened and saw various range of weapon stashed neatly in the luggage store. Guns in different sizes, knives, darts, and a nasty looking bazooka. "She got a bazooka in her car?!"
"Well, there it is there.." said Ayaka before picking up a gun and fill it with some electric shock darts. "If that's the case then we'll have to take them down without killing them."
"Exactly." I said before receiving one of the filled up gun. "You're going?"
"Yeah. I'm going to see where are our "visitors" now." smirked Ayaka before putting another filled up gun in her belt. "You think you can keep an eye on them until Tomomi~ comes?"
"I think I can." I smirked back. Ayaka smiled before waving off and run towards the second floor..

Miyazawa Sae's POV
Damn it... I thought. This is not going anywhere...
"Ready for another one?~" said a sweetish voice cooing the corridor. I gulped and wait for the approaching figure as I stay low in my hidden spot. As a "handsomely tomboy" as people say, a lot of people has taken interest in me and tend to chase me around. But I never expect that I will also be chased on a death or alive situation like this.. Especially with one of those person that has taken interest in me.
*BRAASH!!*
The voice of the wall crashed just a few centimeters from the side of my head. I quickly jumped back from the deadly fist and saw it being pulled back by it's owner.
"Bingo~" she cooed happily before she then crashed the whole wall by just her fist. "Found you there~" she pointed to me with such a happy grin.
"Amina, where the hell did you get that much power?" I asked as I stepped back when she came out of the hole.
"Amina..?" she tilted her head clumsily. "Amina who? If it's the girl that used to be in this body, she's locked already."
"Locked?" I repeated. "Locked where?"
"Locked somewhere where only my mistress can wake her up." grinned the girl. The smile she used wasn't the same as Sato Amina's smile that I used to see, it was different.. So sinister.. "Now, let's take you to my mistress shall we?"
"Your mistress?" I repeated again. "Why? She fan girls me too?"
"No you silly.." she smiled and shook her head. "She wants to kill you." said the girl suddenly with a serious tone and the smile faded. I gulped and was too late to welcome her powerful punch to my stomach. I was blasted back to the concrete wall and hit my head.
"Urgh.." I groaned. I saw her skipping lightly towards me with such an angelic smile before then she wrings her hand to my neck. I struggled hard as she kept her hand still holding my neck.
"It's nearly my teatime normally.." said Amina. "And so is Amina's... Thanks to my mistress, I missed my teatime because of you." she added before starting to squeeze my neck.
I clawed her hand as my leg kicks frantically, struggling to make her let go off me. But Amina didn't winched at all and kept her position steady with her had lifting my body by the neck. Just as I couldn't hold it anymore and was beginning to feel light, I felt the hand clench becomes lesser and lesser before eventually it drops me to the ground and followed by Amina's body dropped on me. I peeked behind from Amina's body and saw Ayaka standing there with a gun in her hand.
"Did you shoot her?" I asked the brown haired girl. "Did you just killed her?"
"Electric shock darts." said Ayaka before approaching me and helped me up. "You're okay? Sayaka has been taken care of, so you don't have to worry much about her."
"How is she?" I asked.
"A broken shoulder. But the serum should kick in and start it's healing process.."said Ayaka. "Do you want to look for the other visitors we got now?"
"Sure but we need to secure her first." I pointed to Amina's body. I scanned the room and looking for something I could use to tie her up. I grabbed a handcuff from a cupboard and showed it to Ayaka. "Perfect?" I asked before throwing the metallic object to her.
"Better than nothing." said Ayaka before catching my throw and snapped Amina's wrist in.

Masuda Yuka's POV
I ran as fast as I can as I tear down the hospital wing's corridor. I received a call from Tomomi~ that the base has been attacked by the missing ones. My heart stopped for a moment and thought about Natsuki..
We grew close to each other as childhood friends, living in the same neighborhood and played together since we were little. Until one day, Natsuki has to move away and followed her parent's work to another region. I remembered I cried hard on our last day together, I was only seven that time. She hugged me tight when I came to say goodbye and we both crossed our pinky fingers to promise to each other that we'll meet again one day no matter what. A few years later then, it came true.. We joined the military in the same time..
I couldn't managed not to spill any tears when I remembered all the things I've done with her. I run and tear down the empty corridor before finally stopped and cried. I missed her. I missed the smart and funny Sato Natsuki that I befriend since childhood. I missed her funny jokes, her smarty pants facts blabber, her sarcasm.. I missed it all..
I sniffed and started to walk again. My eyes suddenly caught something was wrong on the corridor, and saw a door that was left opened widely. Realising it's Natsumi's door that was opened, I approached it. By the time I reached it there, I can see someone standing over by the bed. It was dark and the sky outside was not helping at all to shine the room. But I can see the dark shadow of the figure lifting it's arm and hold something long in it's hand.
"OI!!" I yelled as I turned on the light by the door. The figure glanced to the door and my jaw instantly dropped.
It was Natsuki. My eyes moved to her hand and saw she was holding a blade up, ready to plunged it into the dying figure on the bed.
"Natsuki..." I whispered in awe. My eyes couldn't believe that I finally saw her after the attack. But she something about her was different. No more eyes that are filled with warmness fun, it was cold gray. And the thin lips doesn't smile at all, it's just pursed tightly.
The next thing I knew is that suddenly Natsuki rushed towards the window and run through the window, shattering the glass. My eyes widened in shock and rushed towards the window. I looked bellow, there was nothing. I looked up and saw Natsuki climbing up by the windows above as the handles.
"Natsuki!!" I yelled. My brain spun uncontrollably, confused on what is going on.. I looked up and head towards the door and rushed over to the stairs. She must have been heading to the roof... I thought as I tear down the stairs. I opened the only door that headed to the roof once all the staircases were finished, and saw three figure on the roof. One was lying down on the floor, one was standing over it in dark hooded cape, and the other one was Natsuki kneeling behind the hooded figure.
"I failed." I heard Natsuki's voice for the first time in a while. But it wasn't her voice that I usually heard, it was cold and raspy..
"Natsuki!!" I yelled and run towards them. The hooded figure looked up towards me and put out it's hand towards me. My body freezes all the sudden and wasn't able to move at all. What's going on..? My body can't move!!
The figure then pointed it's hand to the left and all the sudden I was being brought to the left, following the hand. My tried to see who's under the hood, but it's useless. The sky and the hood isn't helping at all..
"We're going." said the figure. The voice was unusually low pitched and sounded off something from the death parlor on Animes. Then the figure brought it's hand down to the ground, slammed me hard to the ground.
I groaned and looked up to see Natsuki's eyes. All I could see was coldness in there and a tinge of hatred by the eyes. She turned back and followed the dark hooded figure to the roof's railing. She jumped from there, following the hooded figure. I yelled and stood right back up, rushing over to the railing and looked bellow. But once again, nothing at all..
I glanced around and saw an object that made me widened my eyes. I quickly rushed over to the body on the ground before finally rushing towards the roof's door. But before I could close the door, the object exploded and threw me back the stairs with such strong impact. I slammed hard to the wall and watched the beautiful flame burning into the cloudy sky...

Hello minna-san~ Gwargh, just got back from the hellish school and actually managed time to continued what I left before. But just before I could post it about a week ago, the fanfic file was lost along with my other schoolwork in my flashdisk that somehow decided to leave my pocket and never returns back. In another words, I have to type it again.

DiVA Project: Chapter 8 - Visit (Part 2)

Umeda Ayaka’s POV
As soon as I cuffed Amina’s wrist, I stood back watching the motionless girl. “Sorry Amina.” I spoke.
“You said it’s not Amina.” said Sae walking towards me.
I shook my head, “The body is but whoever’s controlling it isn’t.”. Suddenly, my ear witched when I heard some footsteps coming from behind. I twirled around on my heels and pointed my gun straight, pointing it straight at Yuko’s nose holes.
“Among all other parts of my body, why do you have to point it to my nose?” retorted Yuko with a sheepish look. I lowered my gun with a thin smile, Yuko tilted her head to the side to see Amina behind. “Ah, speaking of which.. I got Masana.” said Yuko as she jerked her thumb towards the hallway. I peeked out and saw a girl slumped by the wall with her hands tied up and eyes covered, “Nearly killed her friends at the cafeteria if no one turned up sooner. Managed to scratched my Nyan Nyan though..” added Yuko.
“Is she alright?” asked Sae. Yuko nodded with a pair of serious eyes.
“What is it..?” asked Yuko softly. “What is it that they’ve done to them…?”
I didn’t answer, I bit my lips instead. Kana, Amina, and Masana were so far the ones that they’ve managed to find out what happened to them. I clenched my fist and felt it trembling instantly, I was mad. Mad at whoever did all of these to my friends, to us.. And turning them against us.
My thoughts suddenly flies away when I can feel the ground shook hard and a loud explosion was heard. Confused, I rushed to window nearby and saw the hospital wing’s roof was on fire.
“Is that the…” asked Yuko as she gapped her mouth to the window view.
“Natsumi…” spoke Sae with a slack on her face as if she got slapped really hard. “NO!!!” she bellowed and ran off the room.
“Sae!!” I turned and yelled to the genking but she was already gone. I took a step towards the door to chase her, but suddenly my knees buckled up by itself as my head felt a sharp twisting pain. I groaned in pain as I hold my head with my hands, trying to squeeze out the pain.
“Ayaka!!” I heard Yuko’s voice and felt her hands on my shoulders. I blinked in the confusing pain, but my eyes starting blurred by itself. I closed my eyes and bit down my lips, praying for the pain to go away. Instead of going away, the pain comes along with flashes of some random scenes.
The first one I saw was two unconscious figures in a narrow room, surrounding them were flames and black smokes. One of the figure raised it’s head, she was coughing blood so badly and when she touched her chest she saw them covered in red liquids. She cough again and tried to crawl towards the other figure who was slumped leaning to the wall.
“Somebody…” she croaked and coughed in blood again. “Help…” then she slumped back to the ground.
The next scene that I saw was a white marble altar, some kind of sectre altar with figurines and lit up candles. A figure stood in front of it with its arms spread and raised above, behind it, a hooded figure was kneeling and stayed silence.
“We failed, Mistress..” said the hooded figure. My eyes widened when I recognized the voice, when the name of the owner comes into my mind, the hooded figure looked up and confirmed my answer. The face of Sato Natsuki was framed by the dark hood and her brown hair, her eyes was unusually cold and gray while her lips were tightly pursed.
The figure turned around, it’s face was covered by the shade of the hood and completely invisible to see. The figure wasn’t really tall, average height and slim body. “You disappoint me, Atlanta.” said a voice coming from the figure. My eyes widened, the voice was not one but two voices speaking in unison. “I didn’t put you in that body to fail me.”
“My apologies, Mistress. I-“ Natsuki’s voice was cut by a sudden shriek coming out of her mouth. She gripped her own head and her mouth gapped, her body rolled on the floor and screaming in agony. I was mortified to witness such scene, especially if it’s using somebody’s body that I knew.
That’s not Natsuki, Ayaka…. I reassured myself. But I can’t helped not winched watching Natsuki’s body rolling in pain.
“You better remember, Atlanta.. I am not very patient for these years since I got this body.” said the figure coldly as it stares down to the rolling Natsuki. “And I am testing you to do as I said to see if you’re still worthed or to watch you plunged back into the dark Underworld.”
Then figure walked to the rolling Natsuki and grabbed her wrist and lifted her up. Despite the small height, the figure can still lift Natsuki by the wrist and lift her up till Natsuki’s face was right infront of the figure’s face.”Understood?” she asked before releasing Natsuki who slumped in front of the figure and stopped her agony by snapping her fingers.
Natsuki was gasping on the round and looked up to the figure before mumbling, “Yes, Mistress..”
“Very good.” Said the figure before it turned back to the altar. “The moon is beautiful tonight, it’s a pity that Earth has changed since I came last time..” spoke the figure softly but still cold as ice. Suddenly without any warning, the figure glanced towards where I am. Her face was still invisible but yet I could tell she was grinning, an unusual grin. My heart felt like pausing, I could feel a dark tension coming from the figure. “You seemed to be having fun there watching us the whole time. Would you like to join us?”
All the sudden, my shuddered by itself and I could tell the hooded figure was doing something to me. She hold out her closed fist towards me and just as she opened her palm out, I was thrown backwards strongly. As my back felt the impact of crashing onto something, I snapped open my eyes and finding myself gasping for air.
“Ayaka!!” yelled Yuko just beside me, shaking my shoulder. “What happened?”
“The hospital wing..” I mumbled. “There’s someone there surrounded by the fire with a wounded chest.” I glanced at Yuko’s face then, meeting her curious eyes. “Save them, Yuko.”
“How did you know..?” asked Yuko, taken back in surprise.
I shook my head, “I’ll tell you later. But for now, save them Yuko. They need help..”
Yuko nodded, “Wakatta.. How about you? Are you okay?” she asked again.
“I’m fine for now.” I said still gasping for air. “You have to save them fast Yuko. I’ll catch up with you after I took care of these guys.” I looked at Amina and Masana. “Go after Sae, you know she would do something reckless if she’s in panic.”
Yuko stood up and nodded, “I’ll see you later then.” she said before heading out of the room and left. I sat up and closed my eyes again as I tried o regain myself back from the experience. The tension I felt earlier was horrifying, as if a mad person was released from the mental hospital before they’re actually back to normal. Dangerous and yet excited to kill anyone..
“You’ve seen the Mistress? I didn’t expect she would let you back alive.”
I snapped open my eyes and glanced at the source of the recognized able voice. My deduction was confirmed since our last visitors was standing by the door with a smug on her face. In her hand was a bloody dagger and she was dragging somebody by the locks of black hair in her hands. She walked in, dragging the bloody figure and stopped a few meters away in front of me before throwing the figure towards me. My eyes widened by the sight of Sakiko drenched in blood and unconscious just lying in front of me.
“Sakiko!!” I yelled and shook the girl’s body before turning my look towards the other figure. “You bitch!! What did you do to her?!! What did you do to Tanamin?!”
“Don’t make me repeat answers that my friend has given to you.” spoke the figure in Tanamin’s voice as she played with the dagger in her fingers. “I’m just doing what my Mistress told me to.”
“Which is?” I gritted as I point my shocking gun straight at her. “Bringing me to her?”
“Ah, glad that you knew the answer already.” said Tanamin in a cherish voice. “Hmm.. This world sure change since I’m dead..” she eyed the gun in my hand.
“So you were from the dead world before or something?” I asked her slowly without lowering my gun, I couldn’t believe I’m saying such things. I truly don’t believe in such things as magic and all these supernatural stuff, but since the vision I had just then kinda change my way of seeing it.
As if Tanamin could read my mind, her eyebrows raised in impress. “My dear, you do know such things eh? Not many people believed in us these days after all, they could only think us as legends that don’t exist in real life.”
“Who EXACTLY are you guys?” I asked again. “The Mistress seemed to treat you all as scums instead of what you are meant to be.” I gave my best smug face towards the figure.
Tanamin snarled, “Do not insult our Mistress, Umeda Ayaka. You will be sorry when you met her for real, she has been waiting to see you all after all these years..”
“Who’s your Mistress then? Why sending you guys instead of herself to here?” I asked bravely.
“Because she has the perfect plan to kill you all and take this world’s domain thoroughly.” said another voice behind me. I turned and saw Sato Amina was still lying on the ground with her hands cuffed but the sinister smile on her face didn’t look so weak at all, filled with confidence and smug. “And you cuffed me to tight, my wrists are getting sore.”
“I’ve been wondering for how long you’ll gonna keep that acting, Ariadne.” said Tanamin with an annoyed voice.
“Sorry, but I’ve been wanting to see you in actions so long, Sciron.” said Amina before she sat up and stretched her neck. “Especially when you’re in a girl’s body. At least her feet aren’t smelly as your original was.”
“Shut up.” growled Tanamin. “I’m glad that Mistress decided to revive me in her body. At least this one looks closer to male than the others are.”
“Whatever..” said Amina before she stretched her hands out, the chains in the handcuffed snapped in instant under the strength. “Gods, getting zapped like that isn’t very funny you know.” She said to me with a disapproved tone.
I pointed my gun towards Amina this time, watching the moe girl to stand up and massaged her sore wrist. She may looked harmless but the hole on the wall was enough to prove whoever in there isn’t something to definite as harmless.
Amina stared down at Sakiko’s body in disgust before turning towards Tanamin. “You should get your gun instead, Sciron. You’re messy with daggers like that.”
“Like hell it was easy.” grumbled Tanamin before stabbing one of the table. “I could only grab this thing on the way out from the altar.”
“So that’s Mistress’s…?” asked Amina with a widened mouth.
“Yep.”
“She’s definitely gonna kill you for that.” said Amina before eventually eying me again as if she just realized I was here all along. “Ah, sorry a bit of chat since we haven’t talked to each other for a long time. Won’t be long.” She smiled.
“Right..” I nodded awkwardly to the two unique villains.
“In fact, it’s already over.” said Amina again before suddenly she charged towards me and crashed onto a protective field that I made just in time. “Fuck..” she cursed before staggering back holding to her broken nose.
“That’s got to hurt.” said Tanamin with an impressed tone and eyed me in enjoyment. “Interesting power you have there, young lady. Are you a demigod may I asked?”
“A what??!” I wrinkled my nose hearing the strange accusation.
“Sciron!!!” yelled Amina still cursing her nose. “Do your job properly!!”
Tanamin sighed in dismay, “Pity, I would like to know more about you but..-“ her sentence was cut off by the twirl of the dagger in her hands and charged it straight at me. Her dagger met up with my force field just in time before it could touched my neck.
But Tanamin wasn’t holding back, her dagger might be stuck in the forcefield but she kept her stance and pushed the dagger through. For the first time since I cast these force fields, I felt a sudden tight in my chest as if something was piercing it and mad it shrunk, sharp as her dagger.
“I can see why my Mistress wants to see you now..” said Tanamin with his eyes fixated on mine as she kept her dagger pushing in. “Interesting power you have there within you, but yet fragile as glass.” She smugged before suddenly I felt a huge force coming from the dagger, seeping through the forcefield. The tight in my chest suddenly hardened, I was stunned by it and luckily moved my neck just in time before the dagger got through the force field.
I fell on my side, finding my self gasping for air as my eyes trailed up towards the two figure hovering above me. Amina’s smug face was so much horrible in bloody nose and sarcastic eyes, while Tanamin’s face remained calm and a bit of boreness flashed.
“Wanna bring her?” asked Amina wiping the blood of her nose.
“Better than nothing.” shrugged Tanamin. She bent down to grab my wrist before suddenly a knife landed just between her hand and mine. I turned towards where it’s from and found Takamina standing by the door with Atsuko just behind her.
“Nobody is going anywhere!” she yelled. “Especially both of you.” She pointed at Amina and Tanamin.
Amina sighed and rolled her eyes, “not again..” she grumbled. She clenched her fist and started cracking her knuckles. “Oi, midget! Still want to taste my fist huh?”
“Don’t call me midget, Amina!” yelled Takamina with anger flashed in her eyes. I can see some blood stains on her collar, dried but fresh. “Or whoever is in there..” she added.
“What did you do to the owners of the body?” asked Atsuko sharply at the two figures. “And why have you come here and killed our guards?”
“They were in the way when we’re trying to do our job.” frowned Tanamin. “It’s not that we didn’t try to knock the front door.”
“Actually, you knocked the whole front door.” I corrected. The four figures then stared at me as if they just remembered that I exist just there.
Takamina widened her mouth and gave a look to the visitors, “You are so going to pay for that!! I was the one who made the door!!” she roared before she got her Katana out from it’s steath. I gulped seeing Takamina like that. I never seen her this mad before, well I have once but thisone is different. I’ve heard once that Takamina did something to the old front door and making it unable to be used again. She then created a new one with many systems installed and some delicate crafting woodwork she does to the new door.
No wonder she’s this mad now..
“Enough chit chats!” yelled Amina before glancing at Tanamin. “Mistress is waiting.”
“Over my dead body you bitches!!!” roared Takamina before charging towards them and slashed down to Tanamin. Tanamin dodged and swung her leg towards the incoming Takamina’s stomach. Takamina was fast enough to counter it by rolling in the air and slash down Tanamin’s leg with her incoming leg. From that slam, I could barely heard a crack without knowing from which did it came from.
Tanamin roared in pain and decided attempted a slash with her dagger to Takamina. But Takamina parried it with her sword to her side and did a spinning kick which Tanamin managed to avoid it by stepping back. From the movement of Tanamin’s leg I could tell on of it’s bone got snapped.
“Damn it, it’s been a long time since I felt pain..” said Tanamin with a shaky breath. Takamina who stood up infront of her, pointed her sword with a cold gaze.
“Surrender now and you will tell us who ordered you.”commanded Takamina clearly without dropping her sword.
“Surrender to mortals like you?” scoffed Amina. “I’d rather get back to the underworld rather than that.” She grinned before charging towards Takamina. But before her fist could touch the captain, the fist met up with Atsuko’s palm who caught it just in time.
“No back stabbing.” growled Atsuko. “Especially to my girlfriend.” She glowered before she landed her own fist on Amina’s bloody nose. Another whack was heard then and I knew this time it’s Amina’s nose that’s wrecking up.
Amina staggered back and cursed as she tried to contain the overflowing blood from her broken nose. “That’s it!! You just brought my wrath on you, young lady!” yelled Amina before charging Atsuko with a bloody nose. Atsuko pulled something out of her pocket and stabbed it right to Amina’s incoming stomach. Upon touching it, Amina’s eyes bulged and her body shuddered before she eventually met the floor unconscious once again.
“Ariadne!!” yelled Tanamin. Glancing at Takamina, “What did you do to her?!” she asked angrily.
“This!” yelled Takamina running towards Tanamin with the simiar object as Atsuko’s in her hand and jabbed it to Tanamin’s stomach. She did it so fast that Tanamin didn’t get the time to raise her dagger and instead slumped to the floor with a groan.
I looked up to the two heroes who just saved me then, “what did you do?” I asked them. They raised the object in their hands and showing an electric stun on each of their hands. “You stunned them? But Amina awaked like a couple minutes later after I stunned her.”
“You need to raise the electric level to maximum.” said Takamina simply showing the adjustor to me. “Yes, sounds crazy because that could kill normal humans. But..”
“They aren’t normal humans. It’ll knocked them long enough for us to secure them.” finished Atsuko as she wipped her fist off Amina’s blood. “Damn, I felt sorry for Amina’s body for receiving that bloody nose twice.”
“Don’t worry, Atsuko. It’s not Amina.” I assured her, meeting the two curious eyes filled with questions. I started explaining to them what I’ve heard so far from the visitors and the two members of Team A listened closely until I finished my explanation. Atsuko nodded as if she tried to get them all in her brain while Takamina looked tensed up.
“Takamina, you’re okay?” asked Atsuko to the girl, I could tell she’s concern for her girlfriend.
Takamina nodded briefly, “I’m fine.” She answered. “Atsuko, Ayaka, I need you both to wait for the back up to arrive and secure them. I need to go somewhere for now.”
“But, Takamina-“ called Atsuko but the short girl just ran out of the room hurriedly. I caught a glimpse of her expression just before she went, showing anger somehow. “Man, what’s with her..?”
“I don’t know..” I answered to Atsuko’s question.
Akimoto Sayaka’s POV
A few hours later
“ITTAI!!” I yelped to the touch of pain on my shoulder.
“Sayaka, you have to stay still if you want me to fix you up!” said Tomomi~ wrapping my shoulder clean fresh bandage. “It still takes a few hours till the serum can totally heal your shoulder up.”
“ But Tomomi~ you don’t have to do it- ITTAI!!” I yelped after feeling a gentle slap on the covered shoulder.
“Well, that’s it.” Said Tomomi~ rubbing the shoulder she just slapped. “You really are a loud person, Sayaka.” she added as she stood up and threw out the bandage packages.
“How’s Sae?” I grumbled trying to feel my shoulder with a scowl.
“She’s with Natsumi now. The fire on the rooftop didn’t reached her level so she’s fine.” Said Tomomi~ washing her hands on the basin. “The ones in the rooftop that time aren’t, luckily Yuko saved them just in time. ”
“Who’s on the rooftop that time?” I asked gazing at the young doctor drying her hands. Tomomi~ sighed before giving me a grim look.
“Yuka.” Spoke Tomomi~ grimly. My eyes widened and my feet stood right up at the same moment, I approached the girl and shook her body with my normal arm.
“What happened to her??” I asked to Tomomi~ with a pounding heart. The experience of nearly losing Yuka is something that I wouldn’t want to experience anymore. Especially…
“She’s just breathing too much of the smoke.” said Tomomi~ while biting her lips. “The other person is not so fine..”
“Who-“
“Miyazaki Miho.” spoke Tomomi~. “Yukirin and Mayuyu is operating her now with the others..”

After thanking Tomomi~ I got out of her office and headed towards the room where Yuka was recovering in. I knocked softly on the door before opening them, Yuka was sleeping with an oxygen mask on her face. Surrounding them were Yuko, Ayaka, Sae and the recovered Noro.
“Sayaka..” said Sae with a relieved expression. I could see she has faced some violence just a while ago by looking at the bruises on her face and arms. “How’s your shoulder?”
“Tomomi~ said that the serum should recover it by tomorrow.” I answered approaching them and took a glance at Yuka. “Is she doing good?”
“Rie said that she’ll be fine, just need some rest and good oxygen.” said Yuko. Silence then made it’s way in the room, everyone was lost in thought after what just happened..
“The visitors are under Takamina’s team care.” spoke Ayaka breaking the silence. “They’ll be under her team’s interrogation.”
“That’s good.” I commented. “Mariko really knows how to get people to talk what they want to hear.”
“I’m going to Natsumi.” spoke Sae all the sudden and stood up. I reached for her hand to stop her, but then she stared at me with those eyes. Not a sparkling genking eyes that I used to see from her, more like guilty and worries were reflected there. “Please..” she said with a pained voice.
I hesitated for a moment before I nodded and let go of her hand, Sae nodded back and left the room leaving all of us.
“Let her be.” Said Yuko. “She nearly had a heart attack when she saw the roof was on fire. She was worrying for her, Sayaka.” She added before putting her hand on my shoulder. I glanced back at Yuko, the feelings in my heart wasn’t right at all. As if I would want Sae to be here instead, just around all of us since Natsumi isn’t waking up sooner.
I mentally whacked myself, what was I thinking? Natsumi is our friend and Sae’s first friend!! Of course she has the rights to take care of her!!
“In the mean time..” said Ayaka breaking the silence again. “You have something to explain to all of us.” she spoke sharply with her eyes fixated on Noro who was leaning at the wall in the corner. My eyes widened, Ayaka rarely use that kind of tone to anyone but now she dares to use it against Noro who is way older than her.
Noro’s expression was hard to read, her lips were pursed tight and her eyes was looking down and avoiding us as if she’s feeling ashamed. I realized it must’ve been her drunk attitude earlier, but then she seemed to be thinking something else than that.
Noro sighed and opened her mouth. But no voice came out of it, just some movement of her lips was clear enough. Not here, dangerous.
The lady coughed a little, “Meet me by the garage at six pm sharp.” she instructed. “You two..” she eyed me and Ayaka, “wear black.” she said. “And you,” she pointed at Yuko, “work with Takamina and start asking questions to the visitors.”
“ What I’m not coming??” asked Yuko with a pout. But Noro’s glare was enough for Yuko to wipe her pout off her face. “Fine.”
“Where are we going?” I asked but Noro walked at the door and left the room without saying anything at all.

The Garage
06.00pm
As soon as the lift door opened up and showed the garage, me and Ayaka stepped out of it. We were both wearing black attire such as a black blouse and black trousers for me and a simple black dress and a black trench coat for Ayaka. We walked towards the parking place where Noro’s car was parked and found the big lady already standing by the car with her black attire, a leather jacket and a sleeveless black jumpsuit.
“Why are we wearing black stuff may I asked?” I narrowed my eyes to the secretary as we approached her car. Noro just shrugged and threw something to Ayaka. Ayaka caught it easily and stare at the bunch of silver keys that she just caught.
“I just drank again.” explained Noro hopping into the passenger seat. “This time, you can drive.”
“Glad you realized that.” scowled Ayaka, getting to the driver seat. I opened the back seat and landed my elf on the back seat as the engine rumbles quietly. “Where are we exactly going?”
“We’re going to visit an old friend of us.” said Noro after the car has got out of the garage and headed to the highway. “We’re going to visit Manami’s grave.”

DiVA Project: Chapter 9 - Unraveling

Akimoto Sayaka POV
“We’re here.” announced Ayaka as soon as she stopped the car by the cemetery gate. The cemetery was located on a hill, a few miles from the base and this cemetery is special dedicated to those who died in actions or on duty. “We’ll be expecting new ones coming since our “visitors” killed them.” She added grimly.
“Come on.” Said Noro opening her door and slammed it close. She hasn’t spoken since she announced where we were going and her expression the whole time in the car was so tensed up instead of being drunk as she meant to be.
Noro then started heading up the hill with me and Ayaka trailing behind. After passing rows of gravestones, we finally stopped in front of one beside a hollow tree, it was covered with snows and when Noro rubbed it out, the name carved there was clear.
OKU MANAMI
Born: 22th November 1995
Died: 30th April 20XX
“You were wondering what is Lunar Project aren’t you?” asked Noro to both of us. I was confused of course since I didn’t knew anything about it, while Ayaka whom stood beside me nodded. Realising my confusement, Noro jerked her head towards me. “Tell her what you’ve got so far, Ayaka.”
Ayaka then started explaining to me about the whole bunch of things she has gathered so far. From the attacks on the night of Erena’s death, the attack we had days ago and the correlation between them. I gapped my mouth as I started processing it all in my head, which then ended up myself wondering what is it that Noro is about to talk about.
After Ayaka finished her explanation, I turned to Noro whom decided to sit on a stonebench beside Manami’s grave. “What is Lunar Project?”
Noro took a deep breath before then stared at us one by one in the eyes, her own eyes radiated some seriousness . “What I am about to tell you is classified, so I want both of you to make sure no one knows about it other than you guys and the rest of DiVA. Got it?”
Ayaka and I nodded, Noro smiled thinly. “First of all, I knew all of these after the General appointed me as his secretary. If I were to know this earlier, I would stop it before it gets out of hand and took Erena’s life in the end.”
“What do you mean?” I asked. Noro didn’t answer and continued on.
“The reason that I brought you to Manami’s grave is because she played an important role in the Project.” Began Noro. “It began years ago before we were even born when a famous fortune teller made it’s way to the previous General and said it’s prophecy. Now, I know it sounded crazy but this fortune teller was the imperial fortune teller which tells the fate of this country in the coming days and so far none of his predictions ever miss.”
“The fortune teller said that one day the whole world will be on the verge of mass death if the Moon’s wrath weren’t contained. And before anyone could ask what he meant by that, he died of a sudden heart attack right where he announced it. Clutched in his hand was a sketch of crescent moon and a bow.”
“Then soon the higher ups started their investigations on the prophecy. Now, I know it sounded crazy. But if the higher ups believed in the fortune teller, the military also will be forced to believe and investigate it. Then it was revealed that the symbol on the sketch was none other the sign of Artemis, the Greek Goddess of Moon, Hunting and…. Virginity.”
“Or known as Diana..” spoke Ayaka. “Then does it have the correlation towards the temple we blew up?”
“I’ll be getting to that soon.” Promised Noro. “Now, then after researching about it, the archeologists found a legend that the Goddess have no child and instead have a band of huntress that served under her name. Another thing that they also found was shockingly an identical site of a temple dedicated to her in this country that is the same as the one in Greece, which was the temple we blew up.” She nodded.
“How the hell did that get in to this place?” I asked.
Noro shrugged, “I don’t know, Sayaka. Well then continuing on, each temple is meant to serve as a safe keep instead of just a place to pray to her. What they keep was said to be something powerful, powerful enough to bring down the whole Mt. Olympus where the Gods lived..”
“Now, the only one that could get it’s hand on this thing was said to be Artemis’s Huntress or her own descendants..”
“But you said before, that Artemis has no child!!” I complained.
“She doesn’t, but the descendants of Artemis Huntress who breaks the rules of Virginity might as well have the power to achieve the object at the temple.” Said Noro. “Then the higher ups made a decision to prevent the prophecy by getting it’s hands on the object firstly before it could happen. The project then is called Lunar Project.”
“First of all, none of them believed that only the descendants could retrieve it, then they started searching it by themselves by sending agents to the temple. But then, there were no results of it. The Agents that were sent never returns and the search party that looked for them also faced the same fate.”
“Realizing that they’re wasting their time and soldiers, the higher ups then search for the possible descendants. They secretly sent agents to Europe and search for the descendants by tracing each people’s history roots. One of the agents that was sent was your uncle, Akimoto Yasushi.”
“The General?” I asked. I never referred him as uncle as I grew in the military system, the system was tough and professionalism is an important matter. That’s why I always addressed him as “General” instead of “uncle”.
“Your uncle is a very smart man. He went to the village areas of each of Artemis’s temple and did a full scan on the history background, it took him more than ten years to do it all.. Until finally he found what he might be looking for, a five year old orphan girl who lived with her neighbors down in the meadow of Artemis’s temple area.”
“The girl then was brought to this country carefully and she has been under the care of the country’s secret service in order to secure her safely. Her identity was hidden and replaced by the name of Oku Manami.”
“Maachan..” whispered Ayaka. Noro nodded and gets a lighter out of her jacket pocket and played with it.
“Manami who was under the protection of the secret service has a pretty out going attitude. She loved escaping from the safe house and explored the forest, sometimes for a day hike or days of camping.” she chuckled. “Of course, the secret service had a good amount of scolding from your uncle. And in the end he decided to keep Manami under his eyes, yes he brought Manami home didn’t he?”
“He did..” I whispered.
Memories flashed in my mind, the first time I met Oku Manami. I was 17 years old that time and just got home after school was finally over. When I took a walk to my uncle’s huge green house, I saw her just there kneeling beside the blueberry bush. I, who didn’t recognized her at all then approached her. As I get closer, I also noticed that there’s someone else kneeling beside her; my uncle.
Noticing my approach, the girl turned and swished her light brown hair. She was frightened and quickly hid behind my uncle. She clutched his pant’s materials as she watched me getting closer.
“Sayaka, she will be staying with us for now.”
“Who is she?”
“Let me introduced you,..” he said before lightly pulled her from his leg and made her stand in front of him. “this is Manami.”
Noticed how scared she is, I pulled myself a smile and bent down to her. Her iris was light brown just like her hair and her skin was white as porcelain dolls, clearly hinting that she’s a foreigner.
“I’m Sayaka.” I introduced myself and offered her my hand. “Nice to meet you, Manami.”
At first, she only looked at my opened hand before eventually reached out for it and took my hand. I shook it nice and easy as a sign of welcoming her, she smiled then eventually and soon she picked a blueberry from the bush and offered it to me.
“Can I?” I asked her after she dropped the berry on my palm.
“Yes you can.” She spoke to me for the first time. Her voice sounded clear as the her irises gleamed that time, so pure and yet refreshing…
As years passed since I met her for the first time, she grew up and treated me like an older sister while I treated her as my own little sister. We laughed, we shared, we talked, we helped each other and many more. But then, she decided to shock all of us by joining the army recruits in the same time as I.
“I want to explore the nature!” she spoke clearly at the night I confronted her. I was trying to remind her that she has a bad health already and entering the army might push her limit. “I don’t mind to do it.” She answered me. “As long as you’re there, I’ll be fine..”
“Please…” she pleaded to me with those round eyes. Couldn’t resist it at all, I made her face uncle instead for the permission. Which then she got them easily just in one night and came the next morning with her documents completed…
Short story, we both managed to past the hellish exams and soon was down to the last test. The ones remaining were I, Manami, Yuko, Natsumi, Kana, Ayaka, Yuka, Noro, Meetan, Natsuki, Erena, and Sae. Our last test was to survive in a remote area for the whole week with our own packs, we weren’t allowed to help each other at all and it was tough for me to leave Manami like that.
“Don’t worry, I’ll be fine Onee-chan.” She assured me and ran when the bell rang for us to separate. I couldn’t help to think about her for every second, my “older sister” instinct always told me to go look for her. But then my other part of me managed to make me not to follow that instinct unless feel like failing.
Six days passed on the test, I managed to survive a whole bunch of things such as angry brown bears, wasp nest, poisonous snakes, and thirsty mosquitoes. I t was down to the last night and just before I decided to go to my tent and have my last snooze for the day, my chest felt tightened all the sudden and made me dropped to my knees.
What was that..? I thought to myself.
But before I could answer that, I heard the voice of a helicopter from above and saw that it was one of ours and headed towards east in high speed. My heart fell as if something bad was happening, the helicopters are meant to be for tomorrow.. And so I grabbed my blade and ran chasing the helicopter on foot. I slashed the tall grasses that blocked my way as once in a while glanced up to see if I’m still following the flying steel. I didn’t stop to catch my breath and kept on running, my instinct told me to. My “older sister” one..
Once I arrived at the helicopter landing place, I saw someone leaning against the tree and motionless. The light brown hair was swished by the night wind and was recognized able enough for me to see thanks to the helicopter’s lamp. Without waiting for the crews to get down, I ra to the tree and saw Manami with closed eyes and pale face.
“Manami!!” I yelled at her in my arms. She wasn’t breathing and yet her pulse felt weak, something happened to her quite badly.. “Manami!!!”
I felt hands pulled me away from her, I resisted it and managed to punch one of the crew in the nose. Soon then, I was dragged away from Manami and watched her being tended by the medic crews. The tears in my eyes swelled up before eventually I started crying in worries. I’ve lost a lot already in my life, and now Manami is going to..
When Manami was put on the stretchers with her mouth covered with oxygen mask, I ran up to her as she was being taken to the helicopter and no one stopped me. Instead, they told me to get in to and the test got officially cancelled. On the way back to the base, I kept holding to her hand as she lied there on the stretcher with her eyes closed. Then when we arrived, she was rushed quickly to the hospital wing.
I ran to chase her, but a hand stopped me. I turned, and saw my uncle with a grim expression on his face. He told me that I can’t go further more and told me to stay by his side. I refused and struggled my hand free, but he kept his firm grip steady and Manami was already taken somewhere else where I can’t see her anymore. I beg him to let me go, but he just stand there in silence as his hand still gripped on mine. I couldn’t take it anymore, I cried. It was the first time I cried since I lost my parents and my brother..
“In the end she died..” I spoke softly before sniffing my nose. Ayaka looked at me with a sad face and pat my back softly, while Noro still played with her lighter.
“She did died in the end.” said Noro. “But the Lunar Project continues..”
“What do you mean?” I sniffed. “Manami is dead and who else would do that stupid project?”
“The government refused to let go of the matter.” Said Noro. “They have spent years of researching and efforts on finding the heir and would they want it all to end by a death of a girl? No they won’t..”
“Then what happened next?” huskily asked Ayaka. “How come Erena was involved in this after then?”
“I’m getting to that.” continued Noro. “The government was very angry at the General Akimoto once they found out Manami’s death. They tormented him non-stop until he himself suggested another way to continue the project.”
“What did he suggested?” asked Ayaka anxiously.
“He suggest to do an experiment so that Lunar Project could carry on. Since Manami’s body was preserved at least for a week this meant that the organs in her body might still be fresh and appropriate for transplant.”
“He suggested Erena to take Manami’s organs…” I finished up with widened eyes.
“Yes. If you can remember, Manami and Erena was called “the Miracles” by the examinee for their toughness until the last stage of test despite their physical condition. Erena was an orphan adopted by the Takahashi Family. So if you can remember why Takamina was over protective to her, it’s because Takamina already treated her as a sister.” said Noro continuing her activity of lighting candles. “You remembered who was the one looked beat up the most and was close to death after that test? Other than Manami?”
“Erena was the one.” Said Ayaka. “She was….” She shook her head and pulled a deep breath, unable to say further.
“Yes, she was in a horrible state when the medic team found her. So bloody and beat up, but alive..” said Noro. “Now, continue on.. General Akimoto believed that the legend said before that only descendants can retrieve the object, if it was true he believed that scientifically the temple only accept the descendant’s blood.”
“So he suggested to fully transplanting all of Manami’s organs to Erena?” asked Ayaka with a wrinkled nose looking a bit disgust.
“Yes.” said Noro before she put down her match into her pocket.
“That’s horrible.” I spoke loudly. I can feel my blood boiled all the sudden after hearing Noro’s story.
Manami whom I always treated as a sister.. Her empty body buried under the grave of her name, like a scrapped container while her insides were all taken out for a stupid project…
I took a deep breath, “Then how come we were attacked on the same event of the moon?”
“Do you remember what they told us to do that night when Erena died?” asked Noro with a gritted teeth.
“They told us to get investigate some strange cases happening around the temple.” I answered. “Missing local villagers and farm animals.”
“Well, all of those are lies.” said Noro. “The main mission wasn’t that, in fact it’s not our mission. It’s just a decoy for us not to notice what the real mission was.”
“What was the real mission?”
Noro took a deep breath, “The real mission was top secret an only Ono Erena was given the mission. The mission was to retrieve the object safely and secure it, it was the last step of the Lunar Project.”
“But it failed.” I spoke. “Instead, those savage creatures came out and chased us. Erena sacrificed her life for the last stand on that bridge.”
“It was her duty.” said Noro. “If she were to failed, she was to kill herself in order to keep the information on Lunar Project hidden forever.”
I was angry. I was angry at the Government, the higher ups, the military, the previous General, and of course the General Akimoto Yasushi..
As if Noro can sense my anger, she looked into my eyes with apologetic eyes. I knew she felt guilty deep down for the late mention to me. I sighed, “It’s not your fault Noro.”
“But at least I should told you earlier..” said Noro grimly. The sudden ringtone of Ayaka’s phone cracked the silence until Ayaka picked it up.
“Umeda’s here. Ah, Yuko!” answered Ayaka. “You got some answers already..?”
No one’s POV
Team A Interrogation Room
“Not much.” answered Yuko through the phone as she kept her eyes focused on the clear glass in front of her. The clear glass window showed Kobayashi Kana tied up in a white strait jacket, her eyes were cold as ever despite the fact that she couldn’t move at all. “Pretty much they all refused to tell us..”
Yuko strained herself not to reach out for the figure and shook it hard so that “the real” Kana would come back, but she knew it’s not going to be easy since someone else is in there. Somebody evil enough to kill the guards and break down Takamina’s door..
“You’re lucky that my Mistress didn’t give my power back. If she did, you’d all be dead by now..” spoke Kana coldly to the other figure in front of her. The low humming of electric current soon to be heard and Kana wriggled in pain. When the sound goes down, Kana was huffing but the sinister smile was plastered on her face. “Go on, kill me if you can. Once this heart stopped beating, Kobayashi Kana won’t be back forever.”
“Don’t make me get my hands bloody.” warned a voice from the tall figure in front of Kana. “You wouldn’t want to get the best interrogator’s hands bloody, right?” said the figure in a sadistic tone.
“Mariko..” warned the other figure beside the tall one. “Don’t.”
“Oh come on, Takamina!” retorted Mariko to the figure before glancing back at Kana. “And beside you don’t have your power currently, Miss…”
“Persiphae would be lovely.” Laughed Kana evily.
“Right, Miss Persiphae..” continued Mariko. “Now tell me who the hell sent you!!” yelled Mariko loudly but only to be laughed again by Kana. Mariko then raised her fist and punched Kana right in the guts, making Kana coughed up some blood.
“MARIKO!!”yelled Takamina as she grab hold of Mariko’s arm and pulled her back out of the room. Kana whom just finished up her bloody cough just smiled with those bloody red glossed lips, successfully making Yuko shivered up to her bones.
“It’s not going so good until now. I’ll inform you once I got something out from them..” said Yuko through the phone and shut the connection. “Kana, what happened to you…” whimpered Yuko alone looking through the glass.
“Something that I was afraid of..” said a voice behind her. Yuko turned and saw the General was standing just behind her with his trademark grim look.
“General!” yelped Yuko and gave the General the military salute. “What brings you here may I asked?”
“News.” answered the General shortly. “News of Kobayashi Kana has returned to this place and rampaging the front hall and possibly the hospital wing..”
“It wasn’t her General!” said Yuko. “Kana was possessed! Or someone possessed her body..”
“Well whatever it is, it’s the beginning of what this country has been dreading for a long time..” said the General as his eyes peered into the glass too. Yuko frowned on the General’s words and suspected that the General knew something about it, but she kept her tongue tucked in. If she asked, she knew he’s not going to answer it.
As if she could hear the General’s word, Kana raised her head towards the glass and grinned evilly. Her eyes peered into the glass and Yuko knew she was looking either at her or the General himself. “Yes, the Moon Wrath shall not be contained anymore now.. My Mistress shall unite with her weapon after being separated from her for centuries and renewed this world…” spoke Kana still with her eyes to the window. “And I shall have my full power back and then the real Kobayashi Kana and the rest of all of you shall fall hard into the underworld…”
Matsubara Natsumi’s room
“Oi wake up.” Said a voice as Sae felt somebody shook her shoulder hard.
The Genking groaned and rubbed her sleepy eyes. She was sleeping the whole time by Natsumi’s bed and she could see that the night has settled in. She turned and saw Yuki was staring at her with hands on her hips and a clipboard.
“Get something to eat Sae. You’ve been here since hours ago and now I need to check on her.”
“I’m not hungry.” mumbled Sae as she stretched her arms and got out of Yukirin’s way.. “I heard you’re handling Miho. How is she?”
“A deep stab on her chest was troublesome.” Said Yuki without looking at Sae and checked on Natsumi’s breathing by the states cope in her ear. “But thank God it didn’t get her heart, her lungs suffered badly though…”
“You think she’ll live?” asked Sae all the sudden. Yuki nodded and continued examining Natsumi’s pulse. Sae threw her head to the side, and headed towards the door, “I’m going to get something then you better let me back in here again..” she said without looking at Yuki.
“How long are you going to stay here and mourn over her?” asked Yuki. Sae turned back and saw the doctor filling in the form on her clipboard, “Don’t you have a mission now? While your friends struggling to answer all these craziness, you’re here mourning over someone who’s not even dead yet.” Spoke Yuki loudly then turned to Sae with a disgust look. “HOW LONG ARE YOU GOING TO STAY LIKE THAT, MIYAZAWA?!” she yelled.
Sae was taken back by Yuki’s expression and fell quiet. The tomboy bit her lips, “Until…”
“UNTIL THIS PLACE TURNS TO DUST? UNTIL EVERYONE IS DEAD?!” asked Yuki with a red face. “Can’t you see that we’ve lost a lot of people already? Can’t you see that your friends has turned to monsters and killed them? And I’ve got a member of my team with a stab on her chest and was on the verge of dying!!?
“SHUT UP!” yelled Sae frustrated. This time it was Yuki who was taken back by Sae, “Like hell you know about me, Yukirin!! Like hell you know how much I’ve been suffering since I lost her for real..”
“Sae…” said Yuki.
“I lost her and it’s all my fault…” said Sae with guilt look upon her face and slumped as she sobbed. “If it weren’t for my phobia, she would have been alive. And now, I just don’t want to lose anyone again…”
“Sae..” said Yuki again. She was about to approached her, but just before her hand touched Sae’s shoulder she stopped it by herself and pulled back. “Geez, you never change do you? Always blaming yourself for everything and cried in the end like a child.”
“I could say the same to you Yukirin.” said Sae as she stood up and back away. Her face was still red from crying, but at least it’s under her control now. “None of us change.”
“Yeah.” Said Yuki shortly.
“How is she treating you now?” asked Sae without looking at Yuki.
“Better than you I suppose. At least she knew the timings to give me space when I want it.” answered Yuki ignorantly.
“That’s good..” commented Sae awkwardly. “I’m going to get something then..”
“Wait.” Sae turned again. “Why are you still calling me Yukirin?” questioned Yuki with a frown and blushed. “You realized that we’re over ages ago.”
Sae shrugged, “I know.”
“Maybe it’s because I can’t get over you, Kashiwagi Yuki.”

Hello people!!! Sorry haven't been writing much since I got a lot of projects at school. And someone when I finished them I started getting so lazy, before then I pushed myself at least to type this chapter.

DiVA Project: Chapter 10 - Torn Hearts (Part 1)

No One’s POV
Somewhere in the city’s outskirts – Takahashi Mansion
A car stopped in front of the mansion’s gate. The driver press down the window button to reveal her face to the surveillance camera set near the gate. She lowered her shades slightly to reveal her entire eyes.
“It’s me.” said the driver looking straight at the camera.
“Ah, Ojou-sama.. Oyashiburi.” replied a voice from nowhere before the gate opened by itself. The driver nodded briefly and drove the car inside to the mansion before the gate closed behind it.
After a short drive to the front door, the car stopped it’s engine and the driver got out just in time when the front door opens. A butler stood in front of the door and gave a bow to the driver.
“Welcome home, Ojou-sama.” Greeted the butler briefly before taking off the driver’s jacket.
“Tadaima, Kai.” Replied the driver and opened her shades, revealing her sharp eyes. “Is Juri home?”
“She is in your father’s room, Minami-sama.” Told the one called Kai.
“How is he?” asked Takamina huskily.
“I am afraid his conditions are the same as last time you came, Minami-sama.” said the butler sadly as he followed Takamina walking down the hallway towards the stairs.
“I’ll go by myself from here, Kai.” said Takamina in front of the stairs. “Bring me something that will warm me up like tea or-“
“Vodka?” asked the butler with a slight smile, reading what’s on his mistress’s mind.
Takamina replied the smile with a sheepish look, “You read me well, Kai.” She admitted. “Yes that will be perfect. Bring me two glass of it, Kai.”
The butler’s eyebrows raised in interest. “Minami-sama, may I remind you that Juri-sama is still underage for alcohol drinks?”
Takamina sighed, “Kai, I won’t let my sister drunk with me until she’s legal to do so, alright?” she looked at Kai with a sarcastic look. “It’s for someone else.”
Again, the butler replied his Mistress’s order with a smile before bowing briefly. “As you wish, Minami-sama.” He said before turning to the kitchen.
Takamina sighed and stepped up to the second floor. The journey on the hallway was long but she finally came to stop in front of a big oak door. The girl sighed and knocked softly before turning the knob.
“Ohayou..” greeted the girl as she came in. The room was split into two parts, a huge study room with book cases raised up into the ceilings and a huge bedroom separated by only huge velvet curtains.
A girl, sitting down on one of the seats in front of the bookcases looked up towards Takamina before she smiled and ran up to her. Her black hair was tied into a ponytail, swishing around as she ran.
“Onee-chan! Oyashiburi~” hugged the girl as she buried her face on her sister’s hair. “I missed you, Onee-chan.”
“Tadaima, Juri.” Hugged Takamina back as she caressed the one called Juri on the back. “Sorry, I just managed to get a free time to visit now.”
“It’s alright.” comforted Juri after she pulled back from the hug. “Wow, you look great now, Captain Takahashi Minami.” compliment Juri. Her sly and thin looking eyes sparkled enough for Takamina to see it’s irises.
“How’s dad, Juri?” asked Takamina to the young girl. The smile on Juri’s face were quickly wiped out and she tilted her head down, shook it.
“Still the same. The doctors said that his internal injuries were already healed but he hasn’t woke up yet.” answered Juri as she walked towards the curtain and jerked it open.
“Three years, eh?” asked Takamina before she followed Juri and stepped in to the bedroom. A huge bed was set in the middle with many health equipments surrounding it. Cables, tubes, and syringes were attached to the on the bed.
The two siblings walked closer to the bed and stare down at a middle age figure lying on the bed with his eyes closed. The oxygen mask was covering his mouth and nose with the heart statistic attached to him.
“Dad..” whispered Juri as she hold the man’s hand that were lying on his side. “Onee-chan is here.”
“Tadaima, Otou-san..” nodded Takamina sadly. She pulled two chairs not far from her and place it next to the bed.
“I’ll leave you two alone.” stated Juri, rejecting the offered chair. She walked back to the library after taking a last glance at his father. “I love you, dad.” she whispered before leaving the room entirely.
Takamina sighed and turned her eyes towards the man on the bed. His eyes were closed peacefully as his lungs steadily operates. Takamina put out her hand and hold his father’s hand for the first time since years ago. The young captain closed her eyes as she tried to recall her last memories with her father.
She was just a young lieutenant that time, like a few months old assigned to Team A. She could remember how happy she was when she passed the recruitments and stare up to the man standing on the platform above, smiling proudly at her and gave a standing applause on the coronation day. Her two sister weren’t far from him, Erena and Juri was smiling at her too.
On daily basis, she would often see the General either in his office or hanging around the base with his guard and socialized with the ones around. Takamina remembered when he visited the Team A’s base and gave her and Acchan advises in sword practices.
“When you were holding the Katana, it’s different from holding other type of swords. With Katana you must swing it swiftly without much power to it. In missions, Katana is used for assassination mostly and the key of assassination is to do it fast without getting messy and loud.” He told the girls as he approached one of the dummy with a Katana in his hand.
“If you put too much power to it, the slim figure of Katana would eventually stick to the flesh when you swing it.” stated the General Takahashi before swung it to the dummy’s torso. “The Katana will be stuck there and you’d find your victims screaming in agony instead of instant silenced death.”
“However, if you swung it fast and swiftly…” he pulled out the sword from the torso and swung the Katana in an incredible speed to the dummy’s neck. “The sword goes through and will stop the air distribution to the head.” He ended after watching the dummy’s head fell down with bits of artificial blood splattering on the ground from the cut.
“You get it?” he asked the two girls and offered the Katana back to Takamina. The two girls nodded in awe after the short example. The man smiled and messed up Takamina’s hair a bit before leaving the room.
Later that night, she found him covered in blood in his study room just before dinner. It was a stormy night and she and Juri has been waiting for him to come down for the dinner. As soon she knocked on the door, a thunder clapped loudly shaking the mansion. Surprised, Takamina rushed to the room and met the huge window behind his father’s desk was already broken and saw a figure standing on the window’s frame.
“Ojou-sama, please save yourself!!” yelled a familiar voice on her left. Takamina glanced and saw her father’s guard struggling to get up. On his chest, a red rose has made an appearance on his shirt and the red liquid substance were coming out from the guard’s mouth as he speak.
Horrified, Takamina turned her eyes to the slumped figure behind him. Her eyes widened realizing who it is, the General himself.
With those things connected in her head, Takamina roared and threw her hidden knife to the figure on the window. She could hear the figure grunted as the metal managed to pierced a bit of his neck, but she did not stop and lunged at the figure and found herself falling from the window along with the figure.
Luckily, the pool bellow managed to gave her a safe landing for her and her figure. Not wasting her time, Takamina grasp for some air and punched the figure right in the guts. Her first punch did not failed her, but the second one did. The figure grabbed her fist and managed to bring his other hand on her nape and plunged her down to the water.
The danger of drowning surrounded her and panicked her. The young girl then pushed up her legs and bring it down on the figure’s head, plunging his face into the water too. Takamina struggled and finally managed to grasp for some air. Her fingers rounded themselves on a piece of glass and a sharp pain pierced through them. She ignored the pain and ripped the figure’s mask only to found herself staring at a pair of dark brown irises. She was dazed for a moment, a big mistake. The figure then landed his fist on her chest right in her breathing area.
Takamina coughed and soon found herself staring into the dark night clouds as her body sank slowly into the water.
“Ojou-sama.” a familiar voice woke her up. Takamina opened her eyes and glanced to find Kai standing beside her with two glass of vodka.
“Kai.” She fumbled before taking one of the glasses from his hand and pointed him to sit down on the other chair.
The butler obeyed and sat down. She gestured him to drink the vodka in his hand, but the butler only stare down at it.
“Kai, drink it. I know you haven’t been touching alcohol since that night.” said Takamina taking a sip for herself.
“I’d like to keep a low figure on myself since that night, mistress.” explained the butler shortly without any expression. “And I’d like it to keep it that way.”
“Please.” said a voice that shocked the butler. He found himself then staring at a pair of glassy looking eyes infront of him. “Please, I need you.”
The butler hesitated but then sighed before taking a sip then. “Ojou-sama, I-“
“I know you’ve been too hard on yourself.” Sniffed Takamina. “It was not your fault that time, that he got hurt..”
“Ojou-sama..”
“I almost had him that night if only I could get a better sight of him, I’m sure he would be paying it by now..” sobbed Takamina as the alcohol sips in. “I was the one who failed..”
Kai put down his glass and stood up before approaching the girl and hugged her. Takamina couldn’t help it anymore, in the end she sobbed up like a baby in his chest. Crying her hearts out..
“Tell me, Kai..” fumbled Takamina between her tears. “Tell me why does anyone want to hurt him..? He was a nice man, Kai and you know it.”
Kai didn’t answer but instead caressed the girl’s hair softly, trying to comfort her. Not getting her answers, Takamina sobbed harder and pounded into his chest demanding for answers before eventually put her hands on his chest.
His chest wasn’t flat and she knew the wrinkly texture bellow the fabric on his chest. The wound on his chest has healed long time ago since that night, but she knew that his memories were still fresh from the event.
After she calmed down, Kai whispered in her ears. “I know.. But he was too nice, Ojou-sama..”
“What?” Takamina pulled back from Kai and stare at him.
“Erena-sama’s last mission. Your father was trying to stop it.” said Kai briefly glancing down at the general. “The mission handed out to her was planed behind him. I managed to find out about it and reported it to him on that night, but then he himself came to stop your father first before he could stop them.”
“Who is-“
“Hush..” whispered Kai placing his index finger to her lips. “This place has been bugged my lady, I can’t explain to you much more.” He whispered. His hand made it’s way to the General’s pillow and pulled something from under it.
“This should do. It’s my notes on the investigation about her mission. I hid it there so that no one could find it other than me.” He whispered cautiously as he handed the notebook to her.”Read it carefully, my lady. I’ll leave you so you can read it yourself.”
“Kai-“ gasped Takamina as Kai stood up and walked towards the curtains.
“My lady, if you are seeking for revenge, don’t do it. Let it go..” said Kai before closing the curtains.
Takamina stared dumbfounded for a moment, couldn’t believe her ears on what she just heard. She stared at the book and opened the first page.
Lunar Project
Takamina stare down at the two words before glancing at her unconscious father, somehow she could feel that her father would be urging her to open it if he was awake. She sighed before continuing on to the next page.

Masuda Yuka’s POV
Hospital Wing – Rooftop
Ignoring the police lines on the crime scene, I stepped in passing the yellow lines. Some burning marks on the rooftop were still there after what happened, also a large hole where I remembered seeing the metal ball for the first time.
“Miss, you are not permitted to enter the crime scene!” exclaimed a CSI. I flashed him a look to silence him, but someone else seemed to be doing a better job to do so.
“Let her be.” said a familiar voice. I turned to the source of the voice and saw The General’s secretary gesturing the CSI team to dismiss themselves.
“Nonti..” I said. The woman gave a sly smile and took off her shades, wind swishing her brown hair and the trench coat she wore.
“They’re still looking for clues.” said Noro Kayo approaching the roof’s railway. “They couldn’t find traces of the other figure you saw. But they found Natsuki’s finger prints on the windows when you said that she climbed it all till here.”
“Natsuki..” I fumbled. “It couldn’t be her.. There must’ve-“
“Yuka.” said Noro with a straight face. “It’s positive. They’ve cross checked the finger prints with the database.”
I shook my head in this believe, trying to hold the urge to cry right now.
“I’m sorry.” said Noro before I eventually fell on my knees and sobbed hard. She hugged me tight as I sobbed into her chest.
“It can’t be..” I shook my head as tears ran on my face. “Noro you know what Natsuki is really like..”
“I do Yuka.” said Noro with a comforting voice. “But it wasn’t her, honey.”
“What do you mean?” I asked looking up at her eyes.
“There was something different from them.. ‘Kana’ said that the real ‘Kana’ was locked somewhere.” Explained Noro. “I think the same case happened to Natsuki too.”
“Oh my God, Nacchi..” I sniffed. “Someone is controlling her?”
Noro nodded, “ ‘Kana’ said that there’s a ‘mistress’ whom revived them all and place them into the member’s body.”
“How is that possible??”
“Yuka,” said Noro sharply. “Sometimes you have to believe in something that sounded impossible because the fact that it’s possible and it has occurred.”
“What do you mean Noro?” my eyebrows scrunched in instant.
Noro sighed, “Let me tell you something, Yuka. But promise me you'll believe in it because I believe all of these were meant to be connected."
I nodded. Noro sighed before opening her mouth again.
"It all began with a project called the Lunar Project.."

No One’s POV
Somewhere in the city’s outskirts – Takahashi Mansion
The young woman closed the book on her lap and leaned back on her chair, thinking about everything that she just read for the last five hours. She couldn't help not take a deep breath before looking down at her unconscious father. She knew he was doing his job, protecting his daughter even know she's not his own blood.
"Dad.." said Takamina holding his father's hand tight. His hand felt warm as the chilly air starts to fill in the room from the stormy sky outside. She then remembered about when she was small. Despite being the oldest, little Takamina usually hides behind her dad when she heard the thunder clapped in the storm.
Years later then, she learnt not to be scared of it. But somehow now, she needed her dad again to face the storm..
"Ojou-sama.." a voice called in. Takamina turned and saw Kai standing infront of the curtains. "I apologize for disturbing, but Juri-sama and I have been worried since you didn't come down for the last five hours and the room was very silent."
"It's alright Kai." smiled Takamina thinly. "This thing kept me occupied." she waved the book.
Kai's eyebrows raised, "Then what are you planning my lady?"
"Being honest Kai, I don't know.." said Takamina. "I was angry when I knew everything now.. But-"
"It's your father's message, not mine." cut Kai shortly without looking at the young mistress's eyes. "He told me to tell you if anything would happen to him and Erena-sama, don't take revenge to them."
"I-"
"Let it go, Ojou-sama.." calmed Kai down. "Let it go for Juri-sama's sake. You can't let the military know that you're now aware of what happened that night and Erena-sama's death."
"Does she know anything about this?' asked Takamina huskily. Kai shook his head, "Good. Keep it that way.."
"As you wish." bowed Kai. "Speaking of which, are you staying here?"
"Nah." shook Takamina. "I need to get back to the base, you know what happened there right?" asked Takamina.
"Of course, I do." smiled Kai wryly. "I might be in their unofficial black list until now since that night, but I have eyes and ears everywhere in that place."
"That's good then.." said Takamina.
"Would you like some dinner? I can get the chef to cook a Katsudon set in minutes." offered Kai.
The idea of her favorite food made Takamina tilted her head, before finally nodded. "I guess I'll have some of that before leaving then." said Takamina with a sheepish smile.
"Very well." bowed Kai off. "By the way, Juri-sama just baked a melon shortcake a while ago. She's probably enjoying it right now with a cup of tea in the dining room. Would you like some too?"
"That would be lovely too." stated Takamina before the butler dismissed himself from the room.
Takamina sighed and hold his father's hands before she decided that it's time for her to go since Kai went out. She leaned in and kissed his father's exposed cheek.
"Jya ne' , Otou-san.." whispered Takamina as she squeezed her father's hand. Her eyes suddenly widened then when she felt the man's hand gave her a gentle squeeze.
"Otou-san.." she gasped, looking at the man's face. His eyes were still shut and breathing, the gentle squeeze was short but comforting. "If you hear me, I'm back dad.." said Takamina before gave him a light kiss on the cheek and went out of the room, leaving him in peace.
Takamina closed the door behind her gently and sighed as she leaned on the door. She felt a heavy burden has been lifted up from her, leaving her heart relieved and relaxed. She walked through the corridors silently, but then she felt something wrong.
It was too quiet, as if the whole mansion just want to hear her heartbeats and footsteps.
Realizing it, Takamina stopped her walk. She slid her hidden sword on her sleeve to her palm, ready to strike with the slightest sound. She then walked slowly and cautiously to the dining room. But then before she could reach the room, she heard Juri's scream.
"KAII!!"
With no further denial, Takamina dashed off towards the dining room to found the whole Dining table was covered in red liquid and the sight of Kai being pinned to the wall with blades pinning him in his on his body. Bloody and beaten up, Kai took a breath.
"Run.. Minami.." he gasped before slumped into unconsciousness.
"KAII!!" yelled Takamina. Her eyes then turned to the table and found it occupied by five people, one of them is tied-up Takahashi Juri. "JURI!! You-"
Takamina's words hung in mid air as her eyes caught the other faces. The other four were recognizable in her eyes. All wearing black hoods and they were all sitting nicely on the table with a piece of Juri’s cake in front of them.
“Gokigen yo, Takahashi Minami-san.” said one of them after wiping her lips with a handkerchief. Takamina’s eyes widened as she saw the figure stood up. The long jet black hair and the sexy figure were undeniable that the owner of the body was none other than Kuramochi Asuka
“Asuka!!” said Takamina. Her eyes scanned others and saw Nakata Chisato, Chikano Rina, and Suzuki Mariya. All of them sat and enjoyed the cake without caring Juri's scared look.
Juri's eyes were wide open but glassy, her mouth was covered with a masking tape, silencing her. Takamina knew that Juri must've witnessed Kai's last stance.
"Who are you?!!" yelled Takamina. "Let go off my sister!!"
"Jeez, relax will you?" leaned Chisato pushing her finished cake aside then stood up. "We're technically here to see you, but that guy got in the way." she jerked her thumb to Kai.
Takamina's blood boiled that instant but then the sight of Chisato licking the side of Juri's tears and smirked made it worse. She raised her sword and threw it to Chisato's head, how much she was surprised then that a hand caught it in mid air right on the handle.
"Enough." said Asuka sharply. "We're wasting time."
"Then why are you here to see me then?" growled Takamina.
Asuka's smile grew wide and threw back the sword and landed it in front of Takamina, "Our Mistress wants to see you."

Masuda Yuka’s POV
Hospital Wing – Rooftop
Noro left me alone then on that roof after her explanations. My mind were still processing what she just told me; Diana, Temples, Erena's death, Lunar Project...
I sighed and stare up the darkened sky. I could see a storm heading towards the base from the roof, and I knew it was a matter of time before it reaches here. I watched the storm as my other parts of body functioning, including my ears.
"Glad you're better."
I raised my dagger just in time to parry an attack from behind. I looked up at the attacker and pushed back, I raised my head to look at the attacker in the eyes. The cold gray eyes and the brown hair was getting familiar in my eyes since I've seen her already when she blew the roof badly.
"Natsuki.." I said finally. “So it was you watching us the whole time.”
“I was, Masuda Yuka.” said Natsuki. “Just doing what my Mistress told me to.”
“Who are you?” I asked cautiously and tried not to be shaky. “What did you do to Natsuki?”
“For now, she’s locked, Masuda Yuka.” Answered Natsuki. “You may call me Atlanta for now.”
“Atlanta, the servant of Artemis, the Goddess of Moon.” I simplified. “Or known as Diana.”
"That is me."
"How do I get her back then?" I stepped closer.
"I'm afraid that is classified between me and my Mistress." said Atlanta simply.
"Then I'll just force it out of you then!!" I yelled and charged to the person I loved the most.

Hello people!!! Sorry haven't been writing much since I got a lot of projects at school. And someone when I finished them I started getting so lazy, before then I pushed myself at least to type this chapter.
(*someone yells* If you are, then why are you updating this??!!)
Well, I know there are a collab that I have been running away from for the last month (Ruka-san, hontouni gomenasai.. *bowed deeply*) which I will get to them very soon!!!

DiVA Project:Chapter 10 - Torn Hearts (Part 2)
No one's POV
A few moments before in another place…
Sayaka and Ayaka returned to the garage after they dropped Noro to the hospital to check out the scene where the fire on the rooftop occurred on the way to the base. Somehow along the way, Ayaka could not help to not glance at Sayaka repeatedly as the woman volunteered to take the car’s wheel.
“You’re okay, Sayaka?” asked Ayaka after Noro was gone.
Sayaka smiled thinly, “I would be lying if I say all her words doesn’t feel a thing.” she answered. “I should have realized it sooner that my uncle was planning all of these things all along..”
“But you and her weren’t even aware of what’s really going on!” said Ayaka. “And neither Noro nor us all.”
“But at least I should have stayed with her in that forest!” said Sayaka as she hit the car’s wheel in frustration.”Or maybe I should have stopped her from enrolling in..”
“Listen it’s none of your fault.” said Ayaka putting her hand on the muscular girl’s shoulder. “Quit blaming yourself, Sayaka. We’ve got enough problems in our hands already, let’s not add another..”
Sayaka fell silence as she kept driving, “So who do you think is behind all of these?”
“Well, if I put it simply.. The government use the military to launch Lunar Project but then it failed when Erena died, now things pointing back to the Lunar Project and it’s hidden secrets and failures. So I think it should be someone who was very pissed about the Lunar Project but not someone who was literally involved in it. Because I’m sure the government nor the military would bother to play out a failed project and made that crazy ruckus.” Said Ayaka.
“Who was the General at that time around Erena’s death?” asked Sayaka carefully. “If it’s true that Erena was given the mission to get the thing, then she must have received it directly from the General since it was a top secret project.”
“It was your uncle I think…” said Ayaka. “He was still newly appointed after the previous one was pronounce dead.”
“Ah, Takamina’s dad right?” asked Sayaka. “He’s such a kind man, right?”
Ayaka didn’t answer that and fell into silence. Worried, Sayaka glanced at the small girl as well keeping her eyes to the road.
“What’s wrong, Ayaka?”
“Say…” began Ayaka without looking at Sayaka. “You remembered that Erena was adopted by the Takahashi family, right?”
“Yes. Takamina told me once that I better take care of Erena since she was like a sister to her or I will face her in Takamina’s ultimate form.” frowned Sayaka. “Somehow that’s sounded like something from a game.” She added.
“Just stick to the topic!” hissed Ayaka. “What if the Takahashi knew something about Erena’s mission? Especially Takamina since she was Erena’s step sister and both of them were close to each other right?”
“Formal General Takahashi might knew something or maybe he was part of the project!” exclaimed Sayaka realizing the explanation. “But he’s dead.”
“But what if he left some documents regarding to the project?” asked Ayaka. “I’m sure he at least have got the idea of the Lunar Project it self.”
“So we’re going to Takamina then?” asked Sayaka taking a space in the parking basement.
“Yep.” Said Ayaka as she came out from the car.

Matsubara Natsumi’s recovery room
Natsumi felt a gentle breeze passing through her nose and filled her lungs with such a cool air that her throat felt extremely freezing. She opened her vision and stare at the lamp on the ceiling for a moment with nothing passed through her mind.
Where am I…?
She tilted her body slightly and hissed at the sharp pain came from her sides. She looked down and saw her body bandaged up thickly and her right arm on a hard cast. Confused, she asked herself.
What happened to me…?
Her left arm trailed itself through her sweaty neck, ears, and hair. But eventually, it stopped upon a strange texture covering where her left eye meant to be. Curious, she touched it and pressed on it lightly. She felt a numb pain from where she pressed before, she pulled it out quickly and saw her palm skin covered in red.
Wha..?
Before her mind answered it, she looked down when a red liquid drops to the bedsheets.
Red
Her eyes widened upon the sight of a single red dot on the bed sheets, her memories flashes back on the last moments she could remember. She remembered such a strong pain on her left eye and being surrounded by figures in black hoods while her body felt numb and all her muscles refused to move. Then someone steps out from them in white cape, edging forward towards her with a hand reaching at her left and…
“GYAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!”
Her breathings went rapid as more red liquid drops from the left side of her face and tainted her bed sheets. She grabbed her chest where her heart was attached deep inside it and screamed her lungs out in fear.
“Finally you are awake.”
Still breathing rapidly, Natsumi turned to the door and saw a figure standing by the open door. The poor girl tried to scramble her mind upon recognizing the girl’s face owner.
“Shiichan..” she whispered.
The last time she remembered seeing her face was when she saw her lying unconsciously on the ground with the others except Natsumi herself whom faced the whole bunch of black hooded figure helplessly.
“I am no Oya Shizuka.” She said as she moved towards the bed. “My lady has kindly given me this body to replace the helpless soul living inside it before. I am thrilled to serve my lady once more although in different condition..”
“Your lady…?” asked Natsumi weakly. Her eye moved to the figure’s hand which was carrying an intimidating silver dagger.
“Yes my lady.” Said the figure stopped by the side of the bed. “She was thrilled to have me serving her again after many years, and even gave me a simple mission to start with.”
Natsumi looked up to the raised dagger in fear, she knew what used to be her best friend plans to do. She could not move a single inch, everything of her body was numb and in great pain. The dagger raised above was all that she stared at as if it was a death sentence to end all the despair she experience.
“She told me to end your life, it was a mistake to let you leave the altar alive.”
“Shiichan…” said Natsumi weakly.
“Goodbye now, Matsubara Natsumi.” She said before plunging it down.
Natsumi closed all her remaining eyes and prepared to feel a greater pain that will end her despair, she waited but nothing came. She opened her eyes and saw a clipboard holding down the dagger which was plunged right through it and stopped just before it touched Natsumi’s abdomen.
“YOU ARE NOT KILLING ANYONE AGAIN, ESPECIALLY IN THE HOSPITAL!!” yelled a familiar voice from just beside Shiichan.
Natsumi turned weakly and saw a figure in white doctor coat holding the clipboard firmly and pushing the dagger up all the sudden before she kicked Shiichan on her side. The black hair swished in the impact, but the figure didn’t care.
Shiichan hit the wall in a loud thud, her dagger was thrown away not far on the floor. The kick on her side was hard enough for the new owner to feel a good amount of pain.
“Who are you to interfere my business?” hissed Shiichan dangerously.
The doctor figure steps to the front of Natsumi’s bed and stood between her and Shiichan, “I’m Kashiwagi Yuki, the head of the hospital and like hell I’m going to let you kill more than you already did!!”
“Tchk.. If my lady has made sacrifice for her existence, then it shall be necessary for those who died for her.” Said Shiichan coldly before pointing to Natsumi. “That girl there was meant to be one of them, and I shall bring her heart to my lady.”
Natsumi gasped upon Shiichan’s words, it sounded very concrete especially when it’s speaks in her best friend’s voice. But however, she could not believe that…
“Over my dead body.” growled Yuki. “Natsumi, stay back. If you could walk, you have to get away now.”
“Yuki…”
“She won’t leave to anywhere.” said Shiichan before pulling out another dagger. “And you won’t be stopping me from taking her heart.”
“We’ll see about that!” barked Yuki before pulling out a bunch of thin surgery knives for her pocket. “I won’t let you go near her even just an inch!!”

Sayaka and Ayaka headed down to Takamina’s office which was located in Team A’s information center near the big library.
“You think she’s gone home yet?” asked Ayaka as they walked passing many bookshelf along the way.
Sayaka shook her head, “I heard Takamina has a habit to sleep in her office when it gets too late to go home and Acchan stays with her too.”
“Is it possible for the two of them to be making out in the office at certain times?” asked Ayaka in a low voice upon arriving at the office’s door.
“Ayaka, I do not want to think about it honestly.” Sighed Sayaka looking at the shorter girl in a strange look.
“Shiritaro-kun or Sae-chan, Sayaka?” asked Ayaka with a naughty grin. Her words instantly made Sayaka blushed in red.
“Now listen to me you-“
“For the fact that whether we both were making out in the office, that really is our privacy, thank you very much.” said a voice from behind them. Ayaka’s grin washed away instantly upon recognizing the voice and the suddenly darkened atmosphere.
“She started it, Acchan!” pointed Sayaka at Ayaka. Ayaka glared at her friend before smiling as if begging for mercy to the girl behind her.
Atsuko sighed, “Never mind about it.. Are you looking for Minami?”
“Yeah, we got something to discuss with her.” Said Sayaka. “Is she in?”
Atsuko tilted her head as if she was thinking, “If I remembered, she said she’s going home today..”
“This is emergency Atsuko.” Said Ayaka. “Can you take us to her house?”
“What’s this matter about?” asked Atsuko. “I’m sorry for asking but as Takamina’s second hand, I have to know what’s really going on.”
“Hee? Takamina is not in the office??” asked another voice from the corridor. Turns out to be Kitahara Rie coming closer with a brown folder in her hand. “Mou.. I really need to see her now.”
“Why is everyone looking for Takamina these days?” asked Atsuko. “Sorry Rie, she’s gone home already. Maybe I can take a message to her, perhaps?”
“This is a really important matter, Atsuko.” Pouted Rie. Then she saw Sayaka and Ayaka, “Are you here to see her too?”
“Yes.” answered Sayaka. “We just realized a fact about the things that occurred lately has something to do with Takamina and maybe her dad too.”
Atsuko froze instantly upon hearing the name, “Did you just say Takahashi Oji-san?”
“Yes, but-“ Ayaka’s voice was cut off by Atsuko’s hand covering her mouth to shut her up.
Atsuko shot a ‘be quiet’ look to the other two before she straightened up and coughed, “Follow me, you too Rie.”
The three others looked at each other before following Atsuko to the garage and followed the signal to get into the car. None of them dared to ask question as Atsuko kept shooting them a scary look, only when they reached the highway that Atsuko began to speak.
“The base are packed with many bugs and hidden cameras, especially near Takamina’s office.” Said Atsuko.
“Why only there?” asked Sayaka.
“The higher ups always watch Takamina closely more than any other captains.” Said Atsuko.
“Is it something to do with the former general?” asked Ayaka.
Atsuko nodded, “’l’ll explain more later. Rie, tell me what you’ve got there.”
“Well I guess it’s fine to talk about it to you guys since you’re the one assigned to solve this..” began Rie nodding to Sayaka and Ayaka. “I checked out the dagger that I managed to pull out from Miho with Yui’s help, it turns out that the dagger was quite special since it wasn’t made out of normal metal. It turns out to be made out of pure silver.”
“Silver? That’s like way expensive for one dagger!” I said. “Any fingerprints?”
Rie shook her head, “There were no recognizable fingerprints on it and I’ve checked it with the database. However, I found a trace of wax made out of honey and surprisingly a strange type of fat from.. you won’t believe what I’ve got here.. a whale?”
“A what?” asked Sayaka. “That sounded like something off history books like in the ancient times page.”
“Greek candles.” Said Ayaka. “Ancient times used whale fats to make oils and wax for their fire offerings so they kept on burning all nights, including the Greeks.”
“But does that mean that most likely our enemy is someone obsessed with Greek Mythology or something?” asked Atsuko as she kept driving.
Ayaka shook her head, “No, it’s more than that. I think it’s the Greek Mythology itself.”

“Why does your master want to see me exactly?” asked Takamina into Asuka’s eyes. Those cold eyes weren’t like the ones that she used to know. It was cold and sinister.
“Let’s say she has a plan involving you.” Answered Mariya.
Takamina picked up her dagger on the floor and gripped it tightly. “If she’s not a chicken, she should see me herself here. Not the other way around.”
“How dare you insult our lady!” yelled Rina.
Asuka put an arm in front of Rina, “We come here in peace. Our lady told us not to spill any blood unless it’s necessary and so we obey her.”
“Not to spill any blood, eh?” gritted Takamina. She pointed at Kai’s bloody figure on the wall, “Tell me what that is?!”
“It’s a different story.” Sighed Chisato. “He’s such a pest for trying to stop us meeting you.”
Takamina gritted her teeth harder, “You…”
Asuka raised her eyebrows when she saw Takamina standing in her attacking stance, “Does that mean you refuse?”
“Yes.”
“Very well..” said Asuka stepping forward. “I will be your opponent.”
“Bring it on, freaks.” Yelled Takamina.
“Do not get to full of yourself, human.” Said Asuka. In a sudden flash, she stood infornt of Takamina and was in time to catch the captain’s reflex kick. “I may have a human form now, but I am still as fast as I was before.”
“You sounded like you’re not human.” Said Takamina pulling back and release a jab which was caught easily.
“Maybe because I’m not.” smiled Asuka, stunning Takamina just for a moment. Enough for her to land a kick to Takamina’s stomach and threw her back to the wall.
Juri’s squeal was muffled by the tape on her mouth. Tears formed at the corner of her eyes after witnessing Kai trying to protect her, now she’s seeing her sister struggling against the intruders.
“Ugh..” Takamina groaned. The kick was not a strong one, however it hit the right spot where it’s enough to daze anyone for a couple of minutes. She doesn’t feel strong like how usually she is, especially after receiving the blow.
She looked up and saw Asuka standing over her with a cold smile. The woman smiled at her before she landed another kick, this time on her stomach.
Takamina dropped her blade as she tried to stop the blood coming out of her mouth. She felt so weak and hurt on her stomach, she slumped to the floor on her side. Still breathing, but struggling and panting.
“I kicked your breathing muscle area to restraint your movement.” Said Asuka. “Now are you still refusing?”
Takamina looked up to Asuka once again, “Darn it..”
Asuka sighed, “I guess that’s a yes for refusing.” This time, Asuka gave a chop from each of her hand towards Takamina’s shoulders. “I blocked your abilities to move your arms, don’t make me do the same for your vital areas.”
“Gahh!!”

you would definitely become much crazier when you see umeda sings as second one just after sae and the ending is umeda + sae haha ^^ I just a little bit disappointed that twintower just in center in the promotion photo but totally no interaction in the song or dance =.=;
back to the story, hope atsuko can drive faster and arrive tkmn's home earlier then save tkmn from danger~!! will the K members would died one by one afterwards? just like the order of their graduation? I really miss them so I always ask someone to complete their story if the stories are abt K members ^^ especially my favorite twintower =P

Here i am, pleading for you to update. I've read this last night and i was so into the story. I registered only to plead because i found this fic amazing and i am so intrigued. Please please please and i will love you forever and ever ever ever ever.
