Yum yum at the last pic ... I feel a little more hungry seeing those plates.

Looks like Zako is really becoming a stand-out member of the group as she's been in a lot of the members' pics since she's joined.  Being the youngest of the group (IIRC), she's just full of life like a pack of firecrackers.

I ran into this video.
Back when many idol units went against one another to perform at the end of the show, Kishi calls out Konan.  Then Ogura says Konan cried, never saw the clip til now.

i don't think Rio will ever get the timing right.

So this must be the newest 'Cat...Airi Kijima. Not bad :twothumbs

But damn Gyakusou Idol was something special. Like, this might as well be Acky's final song before she resigns from the 'Cats, considering that this is her song. And I like it. Has a very melancholy feeling you know?

And I'm guessing the PV will have enough Acky to satisfy her biggest fans...*cough*Tuffty*cough* But hey, I'm a fan of Akiho Yoshizawa as much as the next guy, so yeah I'm stoked for the PV :)

But initial wtf is this

Why you post Rina's song
this girl is trouble mang
do i have to go into detail about how much trouble this girl is
she's like those girls in my high school man
trouble with a capital T

Kijima Airi's ameblog ...

http://ameblo.jp/20111206-1224/

something for the Halloween season...

the new girl...

and the leader...

didn't know what to think when I first saw the new girl.  Her big eyes, big smile, she'll grab the camera very quickly, unless she has a silent personality.  i probably felt like many of the 'Cats, tryin' to catch her vibe, but that was cut short.  the episode was intense, so many emotions, first they're comparing Ogura to Sayama, that was funny. then Kobayashi spazzing out, hilarious.  and then Yoshizawa, dang, it wasn't boring for a second.  thanks for posting it.

Ain't that the truth 8) I might even get kicked out of JPHiP for saying this, but I said it on Tumblr and I'll say it again:
Muscats > AKB
 :P

I mean, the Muscats have Saemi and AKB doesn't. What more else is there to say?

When I first saw the episode, I didn't quite catch her name since she said some other things in her intro.  Thanks for putting up her name and some pics of her.  She reminds me of some weird blend of Anne Hathaway and Yuko Oshima (I'm having an L4Verra moment right now).  Like Saemi, she looks too cute for AV so I hope she can stick with just the gravure stuff.  Also, I hope she can stay for a while since she seems like someone who can get involved.  Oh yeah, I agree whole-heartedly that the Muscats are definitely superior to AKB48.  They're on a whole different level above and beyond.  I think they redefined what it means to be an "idol group".  Yeah they're older than most of the groups out there but they can make it work.  As for Acky, I'm pretty sure that her singing that song and the fact that she has a chance to be a center girl may be a sign that her Muscats tenure is coming to a close in the near future.  However, I think she could have a legitimate solo music career since that video shows her dedication and hard work to getting that song (or just singing in general) down.

Having watched the episode...I'm starting to think Acky's time may be up after all....But then those could all be happy tears, proud in the fact that Acky works so hard for the group and that Acky was making a speech to the camera about wanting to give her all for this single. I hope......I pray...:(

For those wondering how the new girl got in, Airi Kijima is from the same modelling agency as Aino and Jessica.

Well she did say in an interview that her main focus outside the AV business is just being a regular actress. She got the singing part down so I wouldn't be surprised if she was a solo actress/singer in the near future. Because I heard her sing solo before and Lord have mercy it wasn't very good :smhid I'm proud of Acky that she worked on her vocal skills for what'll arguably be her final Muscats song.

Hell if you thought it was emotional when Risa Kasumi left the group...just wait until Akiho Yoshizawa resigns

(I'm having an L4Verra moment right now).

After looking at some of the more recent photos of Ena Kawamura, I have to wonder how long ago these episodes were filmed.  She's had short hair for some weeks now yet in some of the newer episodes, she still has long hair tied up (or in some other style).  Oh, after skimming through that Love Rangers movie, I wonder how that's on Youtube still.

http://www.japantoday.com/category/entertainment/view/what-happens-to-japanese-porn-stars-after-they-retire

Alright, with my uncertainty of this latest Ebisu single being Acky's center-project or possible farewell track (fingers crossed) I happen to come across this article.  Now, I'm sure Acky would have no problem finding projects away from AV, but as she does get older those chances slip, that's the reality in the entertainment industry, especially in JPN where youth is the selling point.  the younger, the cuter, the more years to exploit and rake in money.  But Acky, maybe cause I'm more a fan of her Ebisu activities than her AV, but I only hope she can find projects away from AV.  Even doing V-cinema (b-movies, here in the States) or continuing to sing, but I hope she keeps some grace and not be another one of those mature-genre AV actresses (nothing against them, Natsumi Horiguchi, supposedly Sho's sister is one of my personal faves).
So, yeah, this damn language-barrier is a damn punk of reality keeping me from not knowing what's to happen to one of Ebisu's prettiest, cutest members.
I only hope she stays for a bit longer and til then I'm gonna enjoy every time she's on screen.

So, another kind soul went and translated what happened with Acky's bit in the latest episode. The tears by Acky were more of joy and accomplishment in this particular episode. She said that it has been her dream to become an idol ever since she was young, but she was troubled by the fact that she simply could not sing, so she pretty much gave up on it. Muscats staff found out about her dream and came to her and asked her if she is willing to give it another try and she said yes. What Acky said to the camera before the song was basically how she thanks the staff and fans for giving her the chance to fulfill her dream and how it gives her hope that as long as you don't give up, then you might be able to fulfill your dream one day. Something which, I think all the Muscats could relate to. Rather than seen as just sex objects, the girls are entertainers when with the Muscats, which for many I would say, is what they wanted above and beyond being just an AV actress (Yuma even admitted a few years back that she was in AV because she failed to make it as a legitimate actress). And I think that's why many were shedding tears in that episode, because they could empathise with Acky and admire her hard work and determination to achieve her dream. Acky

I'd been thinking about it and I don't really see why Acky should quit just because of her age. The Muscats aren't a typical idol group, so normal conventions don't apply. Now, I'm sure those in other idol groups also have aspirations to break away and make it on their own, just like the Muscats, but I don't see the likes of Acky or Sola being given the heave ho because they're getting older like other groups do. In the end, I think those graduating from Muscats take it upon themselves to make the decision rather than have it been forced upon them. Acky and Yuma are always top of the DMM DVD sales each month and Sola is frigging huge outside of Japan, despite their age, so I don't see those really popular ones being asked to go because it's somehow against convention for an idol to be over 25+. Again, normal rules don't apply. You never know, someone like Saemi or Rina could graduate or quit gravure/AV before Acky or Sola does. There's really no use in speculating, who can say when the ladies decide to give up gravure/AV but I suggest we all stop worrying and enjoy having them while they're here. :D

That makes a lot of sense.  We really shouldn't hold the Ebisu Muscats to the same standards as other idol groups like AKB48 and Morning Musume.  The Muscats are special in their own right that not only can they model (or in the case of an AV idol, have sex on camera), they can also legitimately sing.  They may be older than those other idol groups but they can still make great music and have an entertaining variety show.  I'm sure every Muscat is living their dream of being something more than what they are known for.  I'm sure there were some doubters that now realize how big the group has become over the years.  Just the idea of bringing in a couple dozen gravure and AV idols together to make a musical group probably seemed farfetched a while back.  But now, it seems that the Muscats have stood the test of time.  It'd be great if some of the members can still be in the group after they turn 30 so that they could become "veterans" and mentors to the younger members.  Who knows, maybe we'll see Acky top the Oricon charts one day when she does retire from AV.

I like how Tuffty broke it down, thanks.  I swear if I check out the episode again I might get   (i promised myself not to cry)
It's great that this group went from the AV/Gravure gimmick to finding their own identity amongst the other Idol-units.  As a big H!P fan I do see Ebisu differently, not sure why.  Age?  nah.  their other (AV) activities?  nope.  But there's something about this bunch of women, girls, females that I just enjoy so much to see on the show and performing.
oh, the covers are amazing.  Every 'Cat look so beautiful.  and Acky?
