Heya! . . . I’m back!! :wave:
I’ve got a new fic and just so you know. . . the main pairing will be KaixAcchan . . . :D :D
Here’s the prologue! :)
I’m just an ordinary high school student and I’ve absolutely got nothing to brag about. I’m just average looking with a pleasing personality. I’ve got many friends but there are only some who I call as my ‘best friends’ . I’ve got a guy who I liked for a long time but I haven’t got the courage to confess to him. Well, he’s the smartest one in our class and I’m like . . . . A little below average if I may say. What’s more he’s got someone he likes but that certain person doesn’t like him back . . . .
A complex relationship between friends and lovers plus school and my personal life . . . . How am I supposed to handle that?!

Characters
NEW
*Kashiwagi Yuki
Class 1- C
A silent, secretive and free-lanced photographer. She stalks her very own childhood friend Watanabe Mayu of Class 2- A. Despite their year levels, they are of the same age. She usually hangs out with him, along with 'another person'. She refuses to let Mayu know her hidden feelings.
*Watanabe Mayu
Class 2- A
Cool and composed president of the football club. Too smart for his own age causing him to skip a year. Literally grew up with his childhood friend, Kashiwagi Yuki. The 3 of them, Mayu, Yuki and 'another person' would always go out every weekend. He likes Yuki to the point of not telling he what he really feels, in order to save their friendship.
*Minegishi Kuu
Class 1- C
Glutton, funny, energetic and a prankster. His and Mariko's parents are rivals in business causing them to have a forbidden- relationship. Mariko broke up with him, but he still loves her dearly even if he doesn't show it.
Maeda Atsuko
Class 1- A
Describes herself as plain and average- looking. Quite stubborn and shy but she cares for others more than herself. Has a sister named Maeda Ami and their parents are working abroad, leaving the two to live on their own. Cousins with Akimoto Subaro and goes to Akihabara High School. She is secretly in love with her cousin’s classmate, Takahashi Kai.
Takahashi Kai
Class 1-B
Always called a ‘midget’ because of his short stature, he gets upset but gets over it after some time. Cute, smart, cool and kind-hearted guy, but he usually cold whenever he is texting ‘someone’ on the phone.
Kojima Haruna
Class 1- A
Acchan’s first and best friend in high school. Quite popular because of her model-like looks and is known for her air headedness. She like to impress people but afraid of criticisms. She secretly has feelings for Oshima Yuu, whom she met on Yahoo Messenger but is unable to express them well because of the restrictions her parents gave her.
Oshima Yuu
Class 1- C
The outgoing, playful, sports-loving, hentai guy who’s good friends with Acchan’s cousin, Akimoto Saburo. He is usually cool and cheerful but knows when to act serious. He is obviously in love with Kojima Haruna, whom he chatted for 3 months on Yahoo Messenger before they officially met. The ace player of the football team.
Akimoto Saburo
Class 1- B
Acchan’s cousin who is the same age as her. Son of a police causing him to be fit and energetic often has the urge to strip when he is in his house and admire his muscles. The word ‘gorilla’ is taboo whenever he is near because it is one of the causes of his rampages. Plays football with Oshima Yuu.
Shinoda Mariko
Class 1- A
Daughter of the best friend of Acchan and Ami's mother. Rich and prideful also quite sadistic. Her blank face usually hides her true feelings. She lives with the Maeda's due to personal reasons. Has a boyfriend named Minegishi Kuu
Sato Takeru
Class 1- C
Is responsible for the chills and goose bumps of Acchan. He is a son of a doctor and is black belt in Karate. Seems to be interested in Acchan.
Maeda Ami
2nd year, Middle school
Acchan’s little sister who is 2 years younger than her. She mostly does the chores at home because both of their parents are working abroad, responsible and caring sister. Plays the bass in their school band.

Chapter One
(Acchan’s POV)
“First years, please proceed to the gymnasium for your orientation” a teacher shouted amidst the crowd.
Wah . . . doushiyo? I don’t know anybody here . . . I murmured to myself while looking at the ground.
For the mean time . . . I’ll just follow were the crowd is going. . .
*beep *beep
Someone mailed me . . .
I took out my phone to see who mailed me.
Fr: Akimoto Saburo
Subject:
Hiya cuz! . . . Where are you? . . I am already at the gym, hurry up!
A vein popped on my head and I clenched my fist.
T-That guy! I’m gonna beat him into a pulp when I see him!
Akimoto Saburo is my 2nd cousin. We grew up together but he is 6 months older than me. He acts as my ‘Onii-san’ that’s why he is a little over protective. He is very smart and athletic, he is fierce and cool but some say he looks like a gorilla. He is also an exhibitionist that’s why I am wary of him when I go to their house because he only wears his boxers. . . . ONLY HIS BOXERS!
Yesterday when he went into my house, he told me that we would go to school together . . . . But he went ahead of me, the nerve!
I sighed in defeat; I just need to go to the gym to find my cousin.
“You’re Maeda Atsuko right? . . . “ someone’s voice stopped me on my tracks.
I looked behind me and saw a kind-of-familiar guy. He’s short but muscular, I think he works out , messy dark-brown hair and dark-brown bulging eyes. He also has this cool- aura surrounding him.
“Y-Yes” I replied. “And who might you be? . . . “
“Yuu, Oshima Yuu . . . We were schoolmates in grade school!” he grinned cheekily.
Heh, he’s cute when smiling . . . His dimple really suits him . . . Come to think of it, he’s the popular guy of class C in grade school
“A-Ah . . . I see . . . Do you already know on what class you’re in?”
“No . . . Not yet . . . How about let’s go to the gym together?” he asked
“Sure. . . “
I sighed in relief. At least now I know somebody
@ the Gymnasium
“Acchan! . . . I’m here” I saw my cousin Saburo pushing his way in the crowd of students towards us.
“Mou~ Sakkun . . . You said we’d go in together!” I pouted at my cousin
“Gomen, gomen . . . . I was just excited! I am looking forward to the sports festival here!” he patted my head
“It’s just the first day of school and that’s what you’re thinking?!”
“You can’t blame me . . . I was born to play sports!” he said as he huffed his chest. “And who might this guy be?” he pointed at Oshima Yuu
“Ah . . . He’s Oshima Yuu . . . A school mate in grade school . . . Oshima-kun he’s my cousin, Akimoto Saburo” I said
“So you’re a sporty one, eh? . . . I’m looking forward to play with you . . . “ Yuu smirked as they shake hands.
“You’re one to huh? . . . What game?”
“Well . . . Not to brag but I’m always the ace of every sport back in grade school . . . But football is MY game . . . . “ he said as he gripped his Saburo’s harder
“Oh . . . The ace huh?. . . Well, I was the ace in my school too . . . . And also I was the captain of our football team and we won EVERY SINGLE GAME . . . “ he gripped tighter too
I can see sparks of electricity between their glares; I need to stop this before it becomes dangerous. I’ve seen my cousin enraged and it was not a pretty scene.
“Maa~ Maa~ . . . . It seems that you both are good in sports, so let’s leave that aside . . . . Let’s just be friends okay?”
They didn’t move and inch and I just sweat-dropped. Drastic times call for drastic measures . . . Even though I didn’t want to do this I have to, for the sake of the other students inside this gym. I took out my stun gun and zapped the neck of my cousin. He fainted and I lifted his body.
“I’m sorry for the trouble Oshima-kun. . . . My cousin’s just like that whenever it comes to sports; he just didn’t want to lose to anyone. . . . See you later” I said as I dragged my cousin’s body towards the bleachers.

Here's chapter 2!
Chapter Two
(Acchan’s POV)
Wah, I’m alone again! . . . Sakkun is in Class 1-C while I am in Class 1-A!! Also, Oshima-kun is in Class 1-B . . . . Well it’s a good thing that those two were separated. Who knows what will happen if those two were in the same class? *sigh it’s just the first day of school and I suddenly became tired. . . . We introduced ourselves and also said from what school we are from. Actually I’m from Akihabara Grade School and it was one of the most prestigious schools in our neighborhood. It was already lunch time, I already finished my bento and was planning to take a nap.
I sit at the very back row of the room beside the window. I just focused my attention outside refusing to meet the eyes of my new classmates. I hid the stun gun in the innermost section of my bag; it would be bad if someone will see it. Actually Sakkun’s father who is a police gave it to me to prevent his rampages.
I still haven’t got a friend in this class because I’m the type of person who wants to be approached; I don’t want to approach people who I don’t know. I took out my iPod and earphones and turned the volume to its maximum to listen to Avril Lavigne’s latest song.
I closed my eyes to enjoy the music but then I felt somebody poke me. I opened my eyes to see a girl smiling at me.
Tall, long brown hair, white smooth skin, pouty lips, cute face.
A model? . . . One of these days she’s gonna be popular. . .
“Ummm . . .excuse me Maeda Atsuko- san . . .” she fidgeted
“Yes? . . . “ I took off my earphones
“My name is Kojima Haruna . . . You said you’re from Akihabara Grade School, right?”
“Yes, I came from Akihabara Grade School . . . Why, is there a problem?” I asked
“Ah . . . no, I just want to ask if you know someone who is named Oshima Yuu? . . . He also went to Akihabara Grade School”
“Ah . . . Yeah, I know him . . . We’re school mates” I replied
“Hontou ni? . . . Do you know what class is he in? . . . “ she asked excitingly
“He’s in Class 1-B”
“Really? . . . Then let’s go!” she grabbed my hand and dragged me outside the room.
“W-Wait a minute! . . . Where are you taking me?” I struggled myself away from her grip. But I can’t, she’s too damn strong, I didn’t expect this from a model-like person.
“Where? . . . Of course to Class 1- B! . . . I want to see Oshima Yuu . . “ she replied still dragging me.
“C-Chotto Kojima-sa- !”
“Haruna is fine. . . . “ she cut me off
“Well then Haruna. . . Why do I have to go with you?!”
She suddenly stopped causing me to trip.
“Itai . . . “
“Ummm . . . actually I met him online . . .”
“Say what?. . . “
“I met him online in an application called Yahoo Messenger . . . and we chatted for like 3 months now, I didn’t know what he looked like because his profile picture is blank but he said that he will go to Akihabara High School . . . I’m nervous of meeting him for the first time . . . Please help me Maeda-san!” she begged me with puppy eyes.
“Ugh . . . It seems like I don’t have a choice. . . “ I sighed
“Yehey! . . . Arigatou Maeda-san!” she hugged me.
I was taken aback but I replied her hug.
“No problem . . . By the way, just drop the formality . . You can call me Acchan . . .” I smiled
“Okay, Acchan!” she giggled as we proceeded to Class 1-B’s room.
Finally . . . I made my very first friend.

Minna, I might not update tomorrow because I'll finish my school works :panic: :panic:. That's why I uploaded 3 chapters today :D :D . . .
There are gonna be many pairings in this fic and as I said, Kai and Acchan are going to be the main pairs. . . Little by little, new characters are going to be introduced . . . So look forward to it! :D

(Acchan’s POV)
@ Class 1-B’s Room
Haruna and I peeked inside the room to look for Oshima Yuu.
“It seems like he is not here . . . . “ I whispered to Haruna
“Really? . . . Let’s just ask his classmates . . . “ she said
“J-Just wait a minute! . . . You’re just gonna go straight inside and ask?!”
“Yeah, that’s right . . . ” she pouted
I face-palmed. . . . Really, does this girl have guts or is she just an airhead?
“But seriously . . . We can’t just waltz in so casually . . . “

No response.
I looked at my side to see that Haruna has gone missing.
“Sumimasen~ . . . Does anyone know where Oshima Yuu went? . . . “ she shouted inside Class 1- B’s classroom.
Gah! . . She really went inside!!
“If you’re looking for Yuu . . . He might be in the football field, I saw him wearing his Soccer Cleats just a while ago . . . “ a guy
replied
“Ah . . . Souka, souka . . . Arigatou, uh. . . eh to . . . What’s your name again?” she asked
“Ah . . . I’m Sato Takeru . . .” the guy replied
“Arigatou Sato-kun . . . “
She finally went outside and waved at me while smiling. She is such an easy- going person.
“To the football field we go~” she pumped her fist in the air and marched towards her destination.
I sighed and just followed her.

(Haruna’s POV)
I’m just actually putting up a front, I’m really nervous on meeting Oshima Yuu . . . In the chat he is a nice and funny guy, though a little perverted. I am wondering if that is his real self . . . I’m worried that he might be pretending just to hook up with me. It’s a good thing that Acchan accompanied me she is so kind but quiet , she is also beautiful. . . Seriously beautiful but she has very, very low self- confidence . . . Maybe that’s why she’s so shy? . . .
@ Football Field
We arrived at the field and I saw guys playing football. So who among them is Oshima Yuu? . . .
“Ne~ Acchan . . . Let’s go nearer . . “ I pulled her towards the field
“E-Eh? . . . Why? . . I could just point at him . . .” she refused
“C’mon Acchan . . . “ I pulled harder and dashed towards the field
“A-Ah . . . Slow down!!”
When our feet stand above the fields’ grass, we were both panting.
“Never. Do. That. Again” she panted heavily while giving me a deadly glare
I shuddered . . . Who knew that this shy girl would look so scary?
“Atsuko-san? . . . . “ a midget guy approached us.
He was drenched in sweat and has dirt on his face, he gave us a toothy grin with his dimples showing, his eyes sparkled, and it really shows that he was having fun.
“Are you looking for the gorilla? . . . .” He smirked
Gorilla? . . . Is there a zoo in this school?
“Oshima-kun . . . Calling my cousin gorilla is a bit rude you know? . . . “
“Hahaha . . . . Of course I was just joking! . . . But seriously, next time put him on a leash!” he winked
“*ahem . . . Okay jokes aside, this person was looking for you . . .” Acchan pushed me towards him. I lost my footing and he caught me in his arms.
“Careful there, babe . . . “ he said as he held me tight.
Quite strong despite being small . . . I can smell his scent, his sweat sliding on his neck, he is breathing heavily and I can hear his heart thumping. . . . I took a closer look at his face . . . He really is handsome I blushed
“Allow me to introduce . . . . Haruna, this is Oshima Yuu . . . Oshima-kun, that person you’re hugging is Kojima Haruna . . . “ Acchan said
“Really?! . . . You’re THE Kojima Haruna? . . . “ he let go from the hug and inspected every part of my body
“Hehehe . . . “ I heard him chuckle. “Well it’s nice to finally see you Haruna!” he grinned
“Nice to see you too” I blushed
“Ne~ Atsuko-san . . . “ he turned his attention to Acchan. “Could you tell your cousin to meet me after class? . . . We’ve got a score to settle. . “ he said seriously
“E-Eh? . . . Acchan! Yuu is going to fight your cousin!” I panicked
“Okay . . . I’ll tell him . . “ she replied
“Really? . . . Thanks! Just tell him to go to the football field . . . .” he said as he ran back to his friends who were playing. “Also . . . Haruna, be sure to be online today! “ he shouted as he waved at me.
I waved back.
“Let’s head back . . . “ Acchan said as she walked towards the school building.
“Wait Acchan! . . . “ I ran to her side “Are you seriously okay with Yuu fighting your cousin? . . . “ I ask her worriedly
“Relax Haruna. . . They are just gonna play football” she assured me
“Okay . . . Whatever you say . . . “ I replied
Maybe I’ll stay after school so that I can watch Yuu play I giggled at this thought
(End of Haruna’s POV)
(Acchan’s POV)
“Acchan . . . I thought we’re going back to our room . . “ Haruna said
“Could you accompany me to Class 1-C’s room? . . . I’ve got to tell my cousin about his match with Oshima-kun . . .” I pleaded
“Of course. . . A little detour won’t hurt. . . “ she smiled
@ Class 1- C’s room
“Acchan. . . just go inside. . . it’s not like they’re gonna eat you . . .” Haruna teased me as we stand by the door.
“But Haruna . . . I’m shy, could you go in for me? . . . “ I asked her
“Sorry . . . but I don’t know your cousin . . . “
“Please. . . Please Haruna!” I pleaded
“Umm. . . . excuse me, you’re blocking the door” a midget guy told us
“Ah! Gomennasai . . .gomennasai! . . . “ I apologized to him
“Iie . . . It’s ok . . “ he replied. “I’ve noticed that you were standing by the door for quite some time now. . . Are you looking for someone in this class?” He smiled kindly and his voice is so gentle.
“Umm . . . A-Actually I’m looking for Akimoto Saburo” I nervously answered
“Saburo huh? . . . Wait a sec. . . “ he went inside their classroom.
“Well what do you know? . . . . He was actually a nice guy. . . “ Haruna nudged me.
It was the first time in my life that I blushed.
“Acchan . . . You were looking for me? . . . “ Saburo appeared at the door
“Sakkun . . . Oshima-kun just told me that you meet him after class in the football field. . . It seems like he wants to challenge you” I said
“I see, I see. . . . Well, thank you for that information. . . “ he said. “Kai! . . . could you come here for a minute?” he shouted inside the room
That midget guy appeared again.
“ ‘sup? . . . “ he asked
“Kai . . . I want to introduce you to my cousin, Maeda Atsuko . . . Acchan this is my pal, Takahashi Kai” Saburo ruffled both of our hair.
“tsk. Hands off Saburo!” Kai shouted
“My, my . . . It seems like our midget is on a bad mood today” Saburo teased him
“No I’m not!” he slapped my cousin’s hand and turned his attention towards me. “Nice to meet you Maeda-san . . . I hope we
would get along” he smiled.
Wah, his voice is so gentle! . . . Also he’s cute when smiling I blushed
“Unn . . . I’m Maeda Atsuko . . . I hope that we would be friends!” I smiled back

Chapter 4
(Acchan’s POV)
When class ended, I mailed Sakkun that I’d be going home first and wished him good luck with his game with Oshima-kun.
“Haruna, you’re not going home yet?”
I glanced at the girl who was busy staring outside the window. Being curious, I approached her and stared at the scene. I saw two guys playing football; one is much taller than the other but both of are good.
“So you’re just okay admiring from afar?. . . . “ I asked her
“Not really . . . I might distract him if I was there” she murmured
“Or, you might be his inspiration . . . “ I teased
“Jaa~ I’ll be going on ahead”
“Okay . . . Bye, bye. . . See you tomorrow!” she waved at me and focused her attention on the outside again.
I packed my things and walked out of the classroom. I was going down the stairs when-
“Maeda-san! . . . You dropped something . . . “ someone called out to me
I recognize that voice. . . . Gentle, soothing and melodious . . . it would only belong to-
“Ah . . Takahashi-san! Gomen ne~ ” I blushed
“You know . . . this is a very dangerous thing, why do you even bring this to school?” he asked
“E-eh?”
I was shocked to see the ‘thing’ that he was holding. He took my hand and placed ‘it’ on top of my palm.
No way! . . . He might think that I’m dangerous person for bringing a stun gun in school! . . . Why, oh why?!
“H-How did it even? . . . “ I raised my bag and found out that there was a hole, it must’ve fell off from there.
“A-Ah . . . I-I could explain!”
“Hahaha . . . You look really flustered . . . “ he chuckled
“A-Actually, Sakkun’s father gave it to me to prevent his rampages . . . *sigh He really can’t control his self once he gets angry” I explained
“Ah . . . Souka . . . . How did his father even have a stun gun?”
“You see, his father is a police in Chiba prefecture . . . “
“Heh~ . . . no wonder Saburo is such a muscle-head, he was trained since childhood” he chuckled
“Well . . . Yes”
“I’m sorry for holding you up . . . . See you tomorrow! . . . “ he was about to go but I held his hand
“Please don’t tell anyone about this. . . . they might report it to the teachers and the teachers might confiscate it” I pleaded
“Don’t worry . . . . It’ll be our little secret” he smiled showing his dimples and then dashed off
Doki, doki, doki . . . . Wah, what a heart-melting smile!” I blushed
I put the stun gun in my pocket and I went to the bus stop.
I was waiting for the bus to come so I was day-dreaming about Takahashi-san when . . .
“Are~ . . . You’re that girl!” a guy pointed at me
“Excuse me?” I looked at him questionably and he just chuckled
“Sorry . . I didn’t mean to startle you but aren’t you with that girl who asked about Oshima Yuu’s whereabouts?”
“Y-Yes . . . “
Who is this person?
“Ah! I forgot to introduce myself again . . . I’m Sato Takeru, yoroshiku~” he winked at me
What a guy! . . . . Acting like a hot-stuff . . . He’s kind of the same with Oshima-kun but somehow. . . this guy is giving me chills
I furrowed my eyebrows and was about to retort when the bus suddenly came. I quickly went inside and took my seat, put my earphones on and played the music on its maximum volume. That Takeru-guy climbed on the bus too and he kept looking at me while smirking. . . . . Really! Guys like him disgust me.
Thankfully it was already my stop so when down the bus and walked towards my house. But even though I the bus wheeled away, I could still feel his gaze on me. I shuddered and ran towards home.

(Haruna’s POV)
After Acchan left, I was contemplating on her statements.
“ *sigh Maybe it’s better for me to watch closer”
@ somewhere near the Foot ball field behind a tree
Sugoi . . . those two are really serious in playing football. . . .
Both of them were panting and were full of sweat and dirt. Yuu was dribbling the ball with his feet while Acchan’s cousin . . umm. . .What was his name again?. . . ugh I forgot . . . But Yuu called him Gorilla, so for the meantime I’ll call him ‘Gori-kun’. So Gori-kun desperately tried to get the ball. Yuu kicked it upwards and Gori-kun jumped and used a header. The ball is now in Gori-kun’s possession.
“You know. . . you’re not bad” Gori-kun smirked as he wiped his sweat on his forhead
“Heh, you too . . . . At first I thought you were just bluffing” Yuu said as he combed his hair
*clap *clap *clap
A guy with a cute face approached them while clapping his hands.
“Now that’s what the football club needs” he smiled
Yuu and Gori-kun stopped playing and stared at the clapping person.
“I am Watanabe Mayu, even though I don’t look like it I’m a 2nd year student of this school”
“EEEEHH?!” both of them shouted
“I am also the captain of Akihabara High School’s football club, so that’s why I’m recruiting the two of you. . . . This school needs players like you, so are you in?” he asked
“Yes! This the very reason why I enrolled in this school . . . .Although sports is not it’s specialty but I heard it’s sports festival is
really awesome!” Gori-kun said excitingly
“Sure, why not?. . . I like playing football” Yuu replied
“Great! . . . but our club activities will not start until next week so just be ready until I post an announcement on the school’s bulletin board” he said. “See you around” he waved good bye and walked away.
Wow, that was fast
Both of them got tired and sat on the bench. Gori-kun offered Yuu a bottle of water, which he gladly took. They both drank and wiped the sweat of their faces.
“You’ve got great stamina” Yuu said
“You also, but you’re dribbling skills are amazing! . . . “ Gori-kun replied
“Heh. . . . Just practicin’ when I’ve got free time. . . . “

Gori-kun took out his phone.
“Moshi- moshi. . . Otou-san? . . . Yeah, I’m still in school. . . . and yeah, I was about to go home . . . what time will you arrive home?. . . 7:26? . . . What?! You’re chasing a criminal right now?!! Then why the hell did you call me!!. . . . I’ll prepare dinner before you get home so finish your case NOW!” he screamed at his phone
“Really . . . that man is giving me headaches” he sighed
“Your dad?. . . “ Yuu asked
“Yeah . . . I need to go home now. . . See you tomorrow Oshima”

Gori-kun dashed off. Yuu took his water bottle and spilled the remaining water on his head.
“Ah~ Feels good!” he exclaimed
I decided to go out from my hiding place and approach him.

“Oh, Haruna! . . . Were you watching?” he smiled
“. . . Un. . . “ I nod my head, blushing because I could see his some parts of his chest because of his slightly wet shirt.
“You should’ve come closer you know . . . . So I could at least show off in front of you” he pouted
Really, this guy . . . Even though we just officially met each other, I’m really comfortable with him . . . is it because we talked online for 3 months? . . .
Suddenly he took off his shirt revealing his muscle-toned body, I quickly turned around and held my reddened face.
“Haruna. . . what’s wrong?” he asked
“Eh. . . A-Ah . . . nothing’s wrong. . . “ I turned my head to the right and I was face-to-face with a wet-haired, beady-eyed, handsome-faced guy.
He chuckled. “You’re so red you know?. . . . “
He distanced his self, much to my dismay, and sat on the bench and wiped his body and hair with his wet shirt.
“How about if I take you home?. . . . “ he suddenly said as he wear his extra shirt.
“Sure. . . “
“You told your mom about me right?. . . . “ he asked
“. . . Un . . . So it’s a good time to finally meet you I guess”
“I see. . . . Well then. . . “ he took my bag from my hand and carried his own bag on another hand
“It’s okay . . I can carry my stuffs by my sel-“
“Nah. . . I don’t mind . . . “ he smiled
We walked together side by side until we reached my house.

“Okaeri, Onee-chan” my little sister’s voice echoed in our living room.
“Ami-chan, did you cook dinner?” I asked
“Not yet, I still have to go to the convenience store to buy ingredients”
“Oh, okay. . . . I’ll go change”
I walked upstairs to my room. I opened the door, I saw someone who was lying on my bed and reading my magazines so casually.
“Ami-chan, Ami-chan!. . . There’s a thief in my room!!” I screamed
The stranger turned its attention to me and sighed. Suddenly my sister appeared and peeked from the door.
“Ami-chan. . . . You forgot to tell her?” the stranger asked
“Yeah. . . . I was busy” she replied
“Who is she?! And what is she doing in my room?!” I asked my sister harshly
“She is Shinoda Mariko-san, daughter of Shinoda Meiko the CEO of Japan’s National Enterprise Company. She’s the daughter of mom’s best friend so you should treat her well.” She replied
“She would stay here for the time being due to some reasons . . . . . Oh by the way, you two would be sharing a room” her voice trailed as she went downstairs.

“Shitsureshimasu . . . “ Yuu whispered as he entered
“Haruna-chan, okaeri” mom’s voice echoed inside the house. “Ara~ who is the young man with you? . . . “ she added
“Don’t tell me he’s your boyfriend” Dad glared at Yuu
We both blushed at my father’s statement.
“Iie . . . that’s not true sir” Yuu replied
“Souka. . . Well join us for dinner” my father offered
“Gladly” he smiled
The four of us sat on the table and began to partake the food prepared.
“Well . . . . If you’re not my daughter’s girlfriend, perhaps are you a suitor?” he suddenly asked
We stopped eating for a moment. Yuu and I stared at each other. For all I know he was just a guy who I met online and who I happen to fell in love in first sight.
“Actually sir, I would be lying if I told you I am not . . “ Yuu said carefully
E-Eh? . . . . .
I never thought he felt like that . . . .
My heart pounded uncontrollably
“Umm. . . . Yuu is the one who I was chatting for the past 3 months” I whispered

Teen these days don’t think about the consequences they just follow solely on their feelings “ Dad said as he munched his salad. “So its fine being a suitor . . . just don’t do weird things to my daughter understand?” he pointed his fork on Yuu.
“Yes I promise” Yuu replied seriously
“Well, tell us about yourself Yuu-kun. . . “ Mom said
“I went to Akihabara Grade School when I was a kid . . . . I like sports, especially football . . . . I was the ace in my previous football team” Yuu replied enthusiastically
“Sporty-type huh . . . . I don’t mind playing basketball with you, kid” Dad smiled
“Gladly” Yuu smiled
“But how did you meet Haruna-chan?” Mom asked
“ 3 months ago, when I first signed up on Yahoo Messenger . . . . I’m looking for people who I can add as friends . . . I caht with random people online and I met airhead_nyan . . . . She was an interesting person and she uses this cute emoticon ‘ (6B6) ‘ . I was really curious about her so I asked about her name and when she said that she’ll go to Akihabara High School . . . . I decided to go there just to meet her” Yuu grinned and looked at me.
“Haruna-chan . . . did you know about this?” Mom looked at me and smiled
I lowered my head and blushed.
“It seems like she doesn’t know. . . . Well it’s already late” Dad said as he finished his meal and stood up
“Haruna, please lead our guest outside” Mom gathered the plates and put them in the kitchen sink
“Let’s go Yuu . . . “
“Yeah . . . . Otou-san, Okaa-san . . . . Mata ashita!” Yuu grinned as he walked towards the door
My parents and I stopped for a moment and stared at him. He just gave us a cheeky smile.
“My~ . . . How bold” Mom admired Yuu’s courage to say that in front of them
“Oshima Yuu . . . . . you really are something aren’t you?” Dad leaked out dark aura from his body
“Yuu . . . let’s go!” I took his hand and dragged him outside the house
“Wow. . . I never knew your parents would be so cool” he chuckled
“Baka . . . . Why did you even say it in front of them?” I blushed
“It has a nice ring to it, don’t you think? . . . . Don’t you like it when I call you parents Otou-san and Okaa-san?” he smirked
“O-Of course I don’t!! . . . . “ I blushed harder
“He~ I’m surprised you’re the tsundere type Haruna . . . . “ he chuckled
“N-No I’m not!! . . . .” I retorted
“Well, see you tomorrow!” he took my hand and placed a paper on top of it and dashed outside the street.

My alarm rang and I woke up. I yawned and rubbed my eyes with the back of my hand.
“Ohayo, Mari- “ I turned to see a neatly fixed bed with no one on it.
She musr’ve gotten up first . . .
I stretched my body due to my back ache. I rolled my futon and placed it on the corner of the room. I began to fix the things inside my bag. I piled up my notebooks and took out the trash inside my bag.
I remember . . . . there’s a hole in my bag . . . good thing I have a spare one. . . .
I transferred my school materials to my other bag and took the stun gun from the pocket of my school skirt which is hanging from my closet. I pressed it’s trigger and noticed that no electricity was running.
Must’ve malfunction when it fell on the floor. . . . . *sigh Anyway, I’ll return it to Saburo later . . . . “
The smell of pancakes allured my from my thoughts . . . I marched downstairs and sat on chair.
“mmmmm . . . Pancakes!”I wiped my drool and stared at the delicious breakfast in front of me. I layered six pancakes on my plate and filled them with maple syrup and I even added whipped cream on top of it.
I munched my beloved food on the table and enjoyed the sweet bliss as it enters my mout.
“Onee-chan, go easy on the pancakes!” Ami popped her head from the kitchen “Also don’t forget to email mom and dad” she added.
I took out my phone.

Okay, I was very surprised that my roommate and I are classmates. I admit, I was not paying attention to everyone around me. Or maybe I just forgot.
After we finished eating our lunch, I asked Haruna to go with me to Class 1-C’s room.
“Ne~ Acchan . . . . What are we going to do there?” Haruna asked as we walked down the hallway
“Ummm . . . I have something to give to Sakkun . . . “ I replied and in the corner of my eye, I saw Mariko . . . . with a guy. Both of them are laughing so hard . . . It’s the first time that I saw Mariko having a good time, and that guy . . . could it be her boyfriend? . . . .
“ . . . Acchan~ . . . . Acchan~ . . . “ Haruna nudged my shoulder
“A-Ah . . . Yeah, let’s go . . . “

I took a peek in their classroom and was shocked. The room was a mess, some tables were upside- down and chairs were scattered. Papers were flying around the room and there was a hole in the black board.
“. . . W-Who on e-earth? . . . . “
“ Maeda-san? ”

“Takahashi-kun! . . . what happened?!”
“It’s Saburo . . . . He went wild when a girl called him a ‘Gorilla’ “ he said.
“I see. . . . Where is he now? . . “ I asked, worried about my cousin’s well-being
“He’s fine now. . . . He was taken to the clinic . . “ he smiled.

The four of us arranged the tables and chairs on its proper order. We picked the papers and put them in the trash . . . . . As for the hole, we placed the poster of our principal, Akimoto Yasushi to cover it up.
“Well, it’s finish . . . . “ Saburo sighed
“But you did all the work . . . You’re strong, just like a Gorilla! . . . . It’s funny ‘cuz you look like one too~” Haruna smiled
Takahashi-kun and I snapped our heads towards Haruna’s direction and showed her our horrified faces.
“What? . . “ she pouted
Oh no . . . . This is bad . . . That word is taboo . . . He just recovered from his rampage a while ago . . . . This is really bad, with the three of us we can’t handle a wild gorilla . . . and the stun gun malfunctioned . . . wah, doushiyo?”
I heard a vein pop and knuckles cracking
We’re too late!
“GAAAAAHHHH!!!!”
He threw a chair at our direction and we scampered and hid underneath the teacher’s table. He punched another hole in the black board.
“Now, what are we going to do?!” I asked
“Why did he go wild?” Haruna asked innocently
Takahashi-kun and I glared at her.
“Seriously?” we both said
I felt the usual chill on my back
Tsk. He’s here . . . I cursed silently
“Woah, woah. . . . What’s going on here?” that Sato-guy went inside the room and ducked because a chair flew in his direction
“Sato-ku-“ Haruna attempted to shout but I covered her mouth
“Ssshhh . . . “ I made a shush sign
“Why? . . . . he could help” she reasoned
“How? . . . and besides, I’m not comfortable with him around”
Saburo kicked a table across the room.
“Maeda-san . . . We really need that stun gun of yours, now!” Takahashi-kun shouted
“Stun gun?” Haruna asked
“Haruna. . . please, no questions now . . . The stun gun did not function, I was going to return it to Sakkun but . . . this happened” I answered
Suddenly the room went quiet, no sound of tables being knocked out, no sound of chairs being thrown . . . . we peeked from the teacher’s table and saw the room in a mess again, but Saburo was lying on the floor with Sato-kun in a fighting stance. . .
“W-What happened? . . . .” I asked, bewildered
“Ah! . . . It’s you again . . . “he exclaimed while pointing at me
“Well, yes . . . . I asked you what happened.” I replied coldly
“I knocked him out. . . “ he grinned
“I told you he could help . . . . “ Haruna said
“K-Knocked out? . . . H-How could yo-“
“I’m a black belt in Karate . . . Also my father is a doctor, he taught me all the pressure points in a person’s body” he said as he carried my cousin’s body on his back
This is the first time that I saw a person capable of calming my cousin when he was on a rampage besides his father and without the stun gun. . . . Amazing . . . So he was this type of person . . .
“Let me help you .. . . “ Kai took Saburo’s right arm and put it around his shoulders. “Could you guys fix the room while we take Saburo to the clinic?” he added
“We will. . . . “ Haruna and I nodded
The two guys exited the classroom but somehow it doesn’t feel right. I ran and catch up to them
“Sato Takeru . . . . Arigatou~ “ I murmured and dashed back to Class 1-C’s room to fix the mess that my cousin made.

Chapter 9
(Acchan’s POV)
After fixing Class 1-C’s room back into its original state classes resumed like nothing happened. As for the 2nd hole that was made on the black board, it was covered by another poster of our, beloved principal Akimoto Yasushi. The teachers did not question about the posters on the board, they thought that the students put them to honor our dear principal . . . . but it was not the case. As for Saburo, he recovered quickly but he forgot about his rampage in the room.
Class ended and I walked towards the gate of the school. I saw Takahashi-kun walking towards the gates too.
“Takahashi-kun! . . . “ I called him out but he didn’t seem to hear me
“Takahashi-kun . . . Ne~ ” I called him again but he did not hear me. He was too absorbed in his phone; he has been looking at it for quite a while. Well, never mind I still have to go to Ami’s school so I’ll have to take the train this time.
But what about Mariko? . . . . Would she be alright home alone? . . . . Hopefully she could manage . ..

(Kai’s POV)
Grasping my phone tightly, I typed my messages to her.

But somehow I could feel someone following me but every time I turn my head around I could see no one.

But I could still feel someone behind my back. I got scared and pulled out my phone; I pressed my speed dial which is Yuu’s number.

“S*it . . . “ I heard someone swear behind a post sign
Hmmm . . . .
I went to the post sign and found a hooded guy crouching while holding his cell phone.
“Aha! . . . . I thought you got something to do?” I smacked him in the head
“Sorry babe~ . . . . I just wanted to try stalking you . . “ he grinned
“Don’t you babe me . . . “ I walked away from him
“Aww. . . . C’mon Haruna . . . “ He ran beside me and tried to hold my hand. I shrugged him off but he was persistent. He put his arm around my shoulder while walking towards the direction of my house. I shook off his arm on my shoulders.
“Yuu. . . . you promised my father that you won’t do anything weird . . . “ I glared at him
“What? . . . . It’s not weird . . It’s pretty normal if you ask me . . . “ he replied
“No . . . stalking is weird, holding hands and hugging are normal . . . . for lovers” I walked in a faster pace
“I know you were upset because I didn’t walk with you from school . . . But hey, at least I’m walking you home . . . “ he jogged beside me and held my arm
“I still need your father’s approval . . . In that way holding hands and hugging would be normal for us . . . . “
I blushed in his statement.
“ Also, kissing and making-out would be pretty normal too . . . . “ he winked
I flicked him on the head and left him alone grunting in pain. He catches up to me in no time and he held my hand, tightly this time.
“But you know . . . . Friends also hold hands” he smiled.
This time I did not smack his hand but I smiled in return and intertwined our fingers.
“Yes, holding hands is fine . . . . but as long as you don’t do it so suddenly and don’t let my dad see this . . . . ”

(Acchan’s POV)
@Akihabara Middle School
I texted Ami that I would be waiting at their school gate. While waiting for her arrival, I decided to listen to music. I downloaded a new song Jane Doe by Takahashi Minami, I took a liking towards it and it has been playing repeatedly for hours in my iPod. The singer has the same last name with Takahashi Kai . . . Maybe they’re related . . . .
15 minutes passed but no sign of my sister and she hasn’t replied to my messages. I grew tired of standing so I walked towards a café near the school. I ordered caramel latte and a cookie in order to satisfy the soft growling of my stomach.

The chorus started playing and I closed my eyes and relaxed. Enjoying the smell of coffee and the music in my ears; but a sudden poke on my arm made me flinch.
He was smiling while looking at me, I saw his mouth forming words but I can’t seem to hear it.

I took off my earphones and stopped the music playing
“Your music is so loud . . . . Let me guess, maximum volume?” he asked
I nodded my head and prompted him to sit on the chair across me
“What were you saying again, Takahashi-kun?” I asked the dimpled- boy in front of me
“ I said you seem to be enjoying your time here . . . “
“Well, I was just waiting for my sister . . . “ I took a sip from my latte while looking at him
“You have a sister? . . . Must be pretty cool . . . I don’t have any siblings . . . “ he smiled sadly
“Ah, I see . . . Do you live around here Takahashi-kun?”
“Me? . . . Well yeah . . . . A few houses away from Akihabara Middle School”
“ . . . Souka . . . “
Silence began to engulf the both of us.
“What were you listening to? . . . “ he suddenly broke the ice
“A-Ah . . . J-Jane Doe by Takahashi Minami . . . “ I started
“Jane Doe huh . . . . Could I listen?”
“E-Eh? . . . . Sure . . . O-Of course”
I gave him one of the earphones and I put the other one in my ear. He leaned closer to me due to the short length of the earphones. Because of the closeness, I could smell his scent and some of his hair is touching my face. I secretly blushed and played the music

Takahashi-kun began to hum the song and snap his fingers with the beat.

I leaned closer to him to hear his voice well but when he felt me shift my position, he suddenly turned his head to me. Our faces were so close to each other that one single push would make us touch our lips.
Doki, Doki, Doki . . .
I could feel my heart thumping loudly in my chest.

“Are you okay?” his breath fell on my face

My phone on top of the table suddenly vibrated causing us to flinch back. Takahashi-kun was so surprised that he fell on his chair.
“Pffftt . . . “ I tried to hold my laughter
He was stunned and gave me a confused look. His face was really funny and I can’t hold it in anymore.
“Hahahaha! . . . . “ I burst out laughing
The other costumers looked at our direction. I offered my hand in front of him.
“Hora~ . . . . “
He took it and stood up and wiped the dirt off his butt. I wiped a tear on my eye and sighed.
“I never laughed like that in ages . . . “ I smiled
“So you scrunch your nose when you smile. . . . . Kawaii~ “ he smiled back
I looked away to hide my flushed face. I took my phone from the table and opened it.

This person . . . It seems like he can read my emotions . .
“Ah . . . Nandemonai, it’s just my sister . . . . It seems like she’s not available today . . . “

“Are you sure? . . . C-Can I really?” I feel a little excitement because of this sudden development
“Of course . . . As long as you let me call you Atsuko”
“S-Sure . . . “
“I’m going on ahead . . . Bye Atsuko“ he waved at me as he walked out of the café
“Wow . . . “ I slumped back to my chair and took a bite on my cookie and I noticed another bite beside from mine.

I received a new message.

I got hungry so I took a bit from your cookie . . . xD
“WHAT?!” I shouted
The other costumers looked at me again and I apologized.
“S-So that means . . . we had an i-indirect k-k-kiss? . . . . “ I put my fingers on my lips

I was so happy to get Takahash- . . . . I mean Kai’s number. I’m so excited to tell Haruna tomorrow.
I was in a good mood when I arrived home, humming a happy tune and giggling from time to time but unbeknownst to me, someone was sobbing inside my room.

I held the ripped and tattered shirt close to my chest and let my tears fall from my eyes.

Yuu walked me home again and he held my hand tight. I avoided the gazes of the people as we passed by the streets. A group of students that we passed by were gossiping about us and some adults gave us their disapproved looks.
Yuu was holding his cellphone on his other hand and frowns while typing a message.
"What happened? . . . " I asked him
"Nothing it's just from Saburo, he said that a teammate of ours in football got beaten and he won't be able to practice tomorrow" he sighed as he put the phone back to his pocket
He intertwined our fingers and I felt the heavy stares of the people towards us.
“Ne~ Yuu . . . Could you let go of my hand? . . . “ I looked at the guy beside me
“Why? . . . Nothing’s wrong with it” he replied as we stopped in our tracks
“It’s just that . . . I’m a little bit uneasy . . . . “ I stared at the ground
“What?! . . . You were the one who said that it’s okay for us to hold hands, what’s with the sudden change?” hurt is evident from his voice
“Just . . . not now . . . . “ I let go of his hand and started walking in a fast pace
“Wait . . . . Haruna!” he ran ahead of me and held both of my shoulders
“C’mon babe . . . tell me what’s wrong?” he said gently as he looked straight to my eyes
“N-Nothing’s wrong . . . . I just didn’t like it . . . “ I looked away
“Are you getting uncomfortable with me?” he had this sad look on his face
“N-No . . . . It’s not that Yuu . . . . I just don’t like the look of the people gave us . . . . “
“What? . . . . Why? Just let the people think what they want . . . I don’t care . . “
“ . . . . You don’t, but I do . . . . “
He stared at me blankly while I could feel the grip on my shoulders loosened
He gave me a nod and said “I respect your decision . . . . “
“So I guess I should give you some space . . . . . “ he smiled sadly “Let’s go . . . It’s already late, you’re parents might be worried”

We walked side by side but now there is some distance between us also, the warmth on my hand disappeared.

I prepared the dinner for the three of us, Ami, Mariko and myself. Ami will eat dinner a later than us because she will be home late. I climbed up the stairs to my room. . . . .
“Mariko, let’s – “
I peeked inside and saw Mariko crying while clutching a tattered shirt to her chest. I watched her from the door. My mind is battling whether I would go inside and comfort her or go downstairs and pretend to not see anything.
But as every second passed my pity for her grew more, she needs a shoulder to cry on, she needs someone to assure her that she is not alone and I don’t care if she’ll give me a cold shoulder.
“ . . . . . Mariko . . . . . “ I whispered as I approached her
Sensing my presence inside the room, she quickly wiped her tears and regained her composure.
“Ah . . . Acchan . . . . What do you want?” she gave me her usual poker face
“You were crying . . . . “
“No I’m not . . . . I have a flu that’s all ”
This person has a huge pride . . . . she’s also quite stubborn . . . . It might be hard to befriend her but I’ll do my best because we are now living under the same roof
“Then what’s that?” I pointed at the tattered shirt beside her. She looked at it fondly and her eyes became watery. Tears streamed down her face and I hugged her and patted her back.
“Just let it all out . . . . If it makes you feel better, you can tell me what happened” I told her as she buried her face on my shoulder.
You really can’t judge a book by its cover because the image that I had Mariko being high, intelligent, sadistic and rich is now shattered. All I see now is a lonely and crying teenager who needs someone to be there for her.
“M-My mother . . . . . S-She . . . K-Kuu is . . . K-Kuu . . . “
Kuu? . . . . Is he the person who was laughing with her? . . . .
"Is this Kuu you're boyfriend? . . . " I asked carefully
I felt her nod on my shoulder
"You see it was our 2nd anniversary yesterday, and as a gift I designed a shirt especially for him . . . . B-But my mother, she didn't like Kuu for me so she sent some thugs to beat him up and told him t-to break-up with me . . . . But Kuu refused so they beat him until he was unconscious and they ripped the shirt that I gave to him . . . IN FRONT OF ME! . . . " she said between her sobs.
I continue to pat her back and stroke her hair with my other hand
"Tell me, why does your mother object in your relationship?" I asked her
"Kuu is the son of my family's rival company. The Minegishi Enterprise Group of Companies" she sniffled
"I didn't want to see Kuu in that state again . . I love him. . . I don't want him to die because of me so I decided . . . I would break up with him when he wakes. . .. "

phew . . . I'll just stop here for a while, still have to study for the upcoming tests. . . . .

Chapter 12
Acchan POV
A week after that event happened, Kuu, Mariko’s boyfriend woke up. When he was well enough to go back to school, Mariko broke up with him. She didn’t tell him the reason why because if she did, Kuu will find a way for them to be together. He might march in the office of Mariko’s mother and get beaten up again just to tell her that he loves her daughter. Kuu became upset with Mariko because she won’t tell him the reason for their break-up and he acted like they never met but I could feel that he still loves her. Mariko pretended to be okay with it but every time we pass the hallway and Kuu is in her sight, she would have that longing in her eyes while looking at his direction but she kept her poker face to show that she has no problem, and when we are alone she would just silently cry on my shoulder. Well I was a little, just-a-little happy because of this. Mariko and I became closer and she was hanging with me and Haruna, we became inseparable but of course I was saddened to see a friend of mine in this state.
“You know Mariko, I know that Kuu still loves you . . . . he is always stealing glances whenever you’re in the same room” I gently brushed some of her hair on her face.
“I know . . . But I can’t, you know the reason well Acchan . . . I don’t want it to happen to him again” she wipes her tears and sighed.
“Un . . . Let’s just hope that someday, you would be back together with him”
“You know, you’re very optimistic Acchan” she smirked
“On the contrary, I’m very pessimistic . . . . I just didn’t make it too obvious” I smirked back
“Oh, so you think you’re better at hiding secrets than me, eh?” she was finally returned to her trolling state. “I’m gonna dig them up in no time”
“Who knows? ~ ” I played along
“Well then, let’s play a game that I like to call Flip the Coin” she was smirking evilly now
“EH?! What’s that?” I asked
“Okay here are the rules: first you call it, heads or tails, and if you guess it right you can ask me anything and I will answer honestly but if you call it wrong, you will have to answer the question I have for you . . . “
“O-Okay . . . . “ somehow I could feel something bad is going to happen, it’s Mariko were talking about! The rich and sadistic troll.
She took a coin from her pocket.
“Heads or Tails?” she asked
“Ummm . . . . Heads” I answered confidently
I could see a small smile from her mouth. She flipped the coin and caught it with her right hand, then she placed it over her left hand.
“Sorry but you called it wrong.. . . “ she showed me the coin on her hand, it was the back portion.
“I never really heard you talking about a guy except your cousin Saburo so the first question I want to ask you is, do you have someone in mind?”
I flinched; I hope I didn’t make it too obvious.
“Of course . . . . NO” I denied, if she knows that I like a guy she would tease me non-stop.
“I see. . . . Okay, again. Heads or tails?”
“I still chose heads”
She flipped the coin again.
“Sorry, it’s still wrong” she smirked “Okay, so your second question is, who do you frequently send messages to?”
“M-My parents . . . “ I answered
“Are you sure? . . . “ she doubted
“O-Of course! Why would I even lie?”
“Then, let me look at your phone” she reached out her hand
This is bad, well I do send messages to my parents frequently but. . . she might see Kai’s messages for me, she might think that he is the one that I like
“T-The battery’s dead . . . . There’s no use for you to open my messages” I stepped back
She was ready to grab me but.
*ring ring
Mariko took out her phone.
“Moshi moshi . . . . Haruna?”
”Mari-chan? . . . where are you? I’ve been looking everywhere for you”
“Gomen ne Haruna, I’m with Acchan at the rooftop . . . Why what’s wrong?” she asked
”I’m at the football field watching their practice . . . would you accompany me?”
“Their practice? Or Yuu’s practice?” she teased
”Mari-chan!!
“Hahaha. . . I was just joking, we’ll be there in a bit”
She ended the call and returned her phone in her pocket.
“Be thankful that you were saved by Haruna. . . . but one day, I’ll dig out all of you secrets” she smirked
“You can try . . . but I assure you, you’ll never succeed” I smirked back. “So what did she want?” I asked her
“She wanted us to watch her ‘Yuu-chan’s’ practice” she said it while quoting the Yuu-chan part with her fingers
“Hahaha . . . That Haruna, I wonder why she still didn’t accept him to be her boyfriend, after all her mother gave him approval also they look good together” I said as we go down the stairs.
“Yes they do, it’s her father who still did not approve . . . . Don’t forget Haruna is a tsundere and an airhead . . . . So maybe, Yuu will have a little bit of difficulty for them to go out . . . “ Mariko replied as we walked down the hallways.

“Haruna!” I shouted as we began to approach her and without knowing, someone was running at full speed towards our direction.

She bumped into me. She dropped and object and I managed to catch it. But I couldn’t keep my balance so I fell on my bottom.
“I-Itai!” I rubbed my swollen butt
“Gomen nasai! . . . . I didn’t mean to!” the person bowed her head every so lowly
“It’s okay . . . “ I smiled while holding the object tight in my arms.

“No. . . . Let me apologize . . . I’m really, really sorry for my actions!” she shook her head in an exaggerated way and bowed even lowly. “You even caught my camera . . . “ she added
Now that I took a good look at it, it was a HDSLR Nikon Camera. Wow, she’s rich
“Here . .. “ I stood up and gave her the camera
“Thank so much!” she bowed again
“So are you a pro?” Mariko asked
She shook her head. “No, just an amateur free- lance photographer . . . I just enjoy taking random pictures“ she smiled
“So whose picture did you took?” I asked
“E-Eh . . . . T-That’s . . . “ she fidgeted
“Let me see . . . “ Mariko suddenly snatched the camera from her
“A-Ah!”
Mariko scanned the pictures.
“It’s just a guy . . . “ she said
“A guy?” I asked
“Yep, all of them are pictures of a guy with different emotions . . . “ she said as she showed me the pictures. “In this one, he is laughing, in the next one, he is serious, the next one, he is exercising, drinking water, changing his shirt, tying his shoes, kicking the ball, talking to his friends, etc. . . . In short, she is a stalker . . . “ she added
“N-No I’m not . . . I-It’s just, he is really amazing in everything he does . . . “ she blushed
“I’m sorry but we still don’t know your name Stalker-san. . . . “ Mariko teased

“Isn’t that Watanabe Mayu? . . . The school’s football club captain?? . . . “

“I know! . . . . “ she cut Mariko off. “I know but . . . . “ she turned her attention to the football field.

My phone started to ring inside my pocket.
“A-Ah . . . . moshi moshi?? . . . . Haruna? . . . We were on our way. Yeah, just wait a little bit” I ended the call and sighed.
“Haruna is getting impatient; the practice match with the other school is starting. . . . “ I said to Mariko
“I see. . . Let’s go?” Mariko started to walk towards the field
“If you like, you can join us . . . . “ I smiled at Yukirin
“A-Ah, maybe I might disturb you and your friends . . . . “ she replied
“No, it’s okay . . . . You could get better pictures if you’re near. . . . “

(Yuu’s POV)
After half an hour of running in the field, sweat and mud already covered my body.
“Okay guys, have a 10- minute break . . . . After that, we would have our match against Shibakawa High . . . Akimoto, Oshima, you two are going to be the forwards. . . . I expect you to do well” Mayu- senpai nodded in Saburo’s and my direction.
I jogged towards the bleachers and looked for my tumbler.
“I remember I put it here before practice . . . . “ I murmured
Suddenly I felt a very cold object pressed against my cheek. I flinched.
“What the- “ I turned around to see Haruna grinning at me.
“Are you looking for this?. . . . “ she handed me my tumbler while chuckling
“Hahaha . . . very sly Kojima-san” I replied sarcastically
“You don’t have to say it that way . . . . I went through the trouble of giving it to you” she pouted
“Kawaii ~ ” I smiled
“E-Eh? . . . “ she blushed
“I said you’re cute . . . . “
“Wh-What are you saying? . . . . ” she became even redder
“Heh . . . You just want me to repeat it don’t you?” I teased
“ . . . Ba-Baka . . . .”
“Anyway . . . . wait for me until I win this match okay? . . . “ I took her hand and kissed it after that I winked at her. I gulped a good amount of water and gave her the tumbler.
“Hold on it for a while . . okay?” I smiled. I expected to see a smile in return but instead I earned a smack from the head.
“Ow . . . That hurts” I pouted while rubbing the sore spot gently
“I’m not your servant . . . I don’t need to obey your orders . . . “ she said
“But you didn’t have to hit that hard . . .” I showed her my puppy-face
She blushed a little then started to caress my hair gently.
I’m happy because little by little she also shows that she reciprocates my feelings but I’m a bit frustrated because we can’t do things like lovers do . . . . . Like hugging or kissing whether in public or in private.
“Ne Haruna . . . “ I placed my hand above hers over my head. I looked at her in the eyes and said “I love you . . . . . “
She retracted her hand and held it against her chest. “Yuu . . . . you know that Otou-san – “
“Yeah . . . . I do . . . I just wanted you to know what I feel . . . . . Also, I want you to know that I’m willing to wait . . . . “ I smiled
“Un . . . arigatou . . . “ she smiled
“GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!”
A loud shout was heard from the field. It seems that it came from Saburo who was chasing another guy, no girl . . no . . . . is that a guy? . . . . no probably a girl . . . .
“Isn’t that Saburo-kun? . . . . Why is he chasing a guy?” Haruna asked
“Ah . . . it’s not a guy, it’s a girl . . . . She’s Miyazawa Sae, the football club’s manager . . . . . She was the one who called Saburo ‘Gorilla’ that caused his rampage on their room” I replied
“I better help the team stop him . . . before the match begins . . . . ” I jogged towards the players who tried to held Saburo down.
“Yuu . . . . good luck! “ Haruna smiled and waved at me.
I grinned and waved in return and then somebody hopped on my back and I fell on the grass.
“I-Itai . . . . “ I turned to look at the culprit who was mischievously grinning at me.
“What the hell Kuu!! . . . Don’t just jump at somebody’s backs like that!!” I shouted
“Hehehe . . . . You’re no fun Yuu~ . . . . I don’t remember our ace being so uptight . . . . ” he chuckled
“Don’t joke right now . . . we’ve got a Gorilla to tame . . . “ I stood up and stretched my arms
“Roger! . . . “ he saluted at me and then hopped on Saburo’s back.

(Acchan’s POV)
After seeing Haruna and Yuu’s lovey-dovey moment Mariko and I didn’t resist the urge to tease her. We introduced Yukirin to her and they got along well.
On the corner of my eye, I saw Kai leaning on a tree not far from the football field . . . . It seems like he is playing with his phone.
“I-I have to go to the restroom . . . “ I dashed before anyone could ask questions. I ran around the school building in order for my friends to see where I would go.
I sneaked behind the tree that Kai was leaning on. I peeked closer to his phone and saw that he was mailing someone . . . . .

Well . . . .after a month-long hiatus I finally updated again!!! . . . . :farofflook:

“Ray . . . . who is this Ray person . . . . does she go to this school?” I murmured out loud as I went around the school building to avoid my friends seeing where I went to.

I want to see you so bad.
“Boo!” I surprised him from behind. The poor boy was scared out of his wits, he flinched so hard that he accidentally threw his phone at a short distance.
“Atsuko! . . . . You scared the hell out of me!! . . . “ he screamed
I stifled out a laugh. “Hahaha . . . Gomen gomen . . . . “ a wiped a tear in my eye. “Well that was a good laugh” I smiled at him
“Mou~ Please don’t do that again . . . I almost got a heart attack!” he sighed deeply.
“Well, that was payback for what you did the other day . . . “ I grinned
“The other day? . . . . “ he asked
“You know. . . . the day that you took my first indirect kis- . . . Ahem, I mean the day that you took a bite on my cookie and you drank half of my latte” I pouted
“I was hungry you know! . . . . And besides, that cookie sure tastes good . . . “ he grinned. “But do not ever, ever use ‘Boo’ as a greeting again understand?”
“Sure . . . how about . . . . “ I went near him and shouted “Konnichiwa!”
The poor boy flinched again.
“Atsuko . . . could you please not shout? . . . It doesn’t suit a beautiful girl like you to shout . . . “ he said
I bowed my head to hide my red face.
“Then how about this? . . . “ I curled my hand into a fist and stretched it out to him, still not raising my head.
“Fist bump? . . . “ he asked
“Un. That way, I wouldn’t surprise you . . . . Just a bump and it’s like saying that were both doing great . . . . “ I looked at him and smiled
“Hmm . . . . I see . . .” he scratched his not-so-scratch chin, curled his fist and bumped it with mine

As I continue walking I looked at my fist and remembered the warmth I felt when it touched Kai’s fist. I was so concentrated on looking at it that it took me a minute to find myself sitting on the ground.
“E-eh?” I asked out loud
“Maeda Atsuko-san? . . . . “ the person held out his hand in front of me. “Sorry . . . I didn’t see where I was going . . “ he said
“A-Ah . . . No worries . . . It was my fault anyways, I was a bit distracted . . . “ I took the hand and he helped me stand up. I just kept looking at his hand and I didn’t see his face.
“Are you hurt somewhere?? . . . I could take you to the clinic . . . “ he said
“A-Ah . . . No need, I’m okay . . . “ I looked at his face and was surprised. It was Sato Takeru, he was wearing a karategi (white jacket and pants used in karate) and a blackbelt, he also didn’t wear any shoes or slippers . . . just his bare feet! He was also sweaty and was breathing heavily
“Sato-kun . . . ummm . . . I’m sorry” I bowed at him. “By the way . . . are you alright? . . . You’re panting heavily, also you’re not wearing something for you feet” I asked but refused to look at him in the eye, instead I looked down. I felt awkward to look at him, I mean especially at him because he kept following me whenever I went home also he was the one responsible for giving me goosebumps whenever he’s near.
“Ah . . . It’s okay . . . The Karate Club is having its practice, we are jogging around the school for exercise . . . “ he said.
“But why with just bare feet? . . . “ I asked
“Ah . . . That is a part of the training. . . . “ he said
“I see. . . . . “ I said
“Anou, do you have somewhere to go? . . . . I could accompany you . . . “ he said
“A-ah . . . . Daijoubu, I could go there on my own . . . In fact, I’m going there now. . . . “ I gave him a short wave and ran away from him without waiting for his reply.
Well . . . He might not be a bad person . . . .
I have arrived in the other side of the field where Mariko, Haruna and Yukirin were loudly cheering for the school team.
I approached them and asked “What’s the score? . . . “
“ 2 – 0 !! . . . . . we are already winning!! . . . “ Yukirin said excitedly
“Really?! Who scored the goal? . . . . “ I asked
“The first one who scored was Saburo . . . . the second one was Yuuchan . . . “ Haruna replied without taking her eyes off a certain someone
Mariko and I looked at each other and chuckled. I looked at Yukirin who was busy taking pictures.
“Why don’t you cheer for Watanabe-san? . . . . “ I asked her
“A-Ah . . . ummm . . . I can’t . . . . “ she held her camera tightly and gazed on Watanabe Mayu who is kicking the ball towards the goal.
“Why? . . . “ I continue to ask while staring at my cousin who was pursuing the ball
“Ah! That was close! . . . “ Haruna cried in frustration as the ball went out of the field.
“Ganbare Yuuchan!! . . . Fight!! . . . “ Haruna cheered loudly and Oshima-kun waved back at her.
“Sakkun!! . . . . Do your best! . . . . “ I shouted at Saburo as he wiped his face with his shirt.
He looked at me and gives me two thumbs up.
“My cousin is great right? . . . “ I said proudly to my friends
“Yeah yeah . . . “ Mariko patted my head like a child
The game resumed with the opponent having the ball.
“ . . . 5 mins. Left . . . “ Mariko murmured
The opponent passed the ball to his team mate but was intercepted by Saburo. Saburo passed the ball to Watanabe Mayu but he had a hard time kicking the ball because he was surrounded by two student of Shibakawa high. Oshima-kun rushed to his side and kicked the ball towards Saburo. The Shibakawa student now focused their attention on Saburo and they went to his direction. Oshima-kun stood in front of the goal and nodded on Saburo’s direction. Saburo kicked a flying ball towards Oshima-kun and he bended a little and jumped while giving the ball a headbutt.
“GGGGOOOOOOOAAAAALLLLL!!!!! . . . . “ the referee announced
Our football team celebrated; they gave their team mates chest bumps, hugs and played roughly. They both congratulated Saburo and Oshima-kun Haruna rushed from our side towards the field. She gave Oshima-kun a big hug, it surprised Oshima-kun at first but then he hugged back. The whole team teased him but he didn’t mind he just kept hugging Haruna.
“Umm . . . Haruna, you can let go now. . . . I’m sweaty . . . “ he said
“A-ah . . . sorry . . “ Haruna let go of the hug and had a blush on her face.
“Nah, it’s okay . . .” Yuu said while having a little blush on his cheeks too.
“Congratulations, Oshima-kun . . . “ I said
“Oh, thank you! . . . You know Acchan . . . . You don’t have to call me ‘Oshima-kun’ , just call me Yuu . . . “ he grinned
“Omedetou~ . . . “ Mariko popped out from behind
“Thanks . . . “she smiled again
“YUU! . . . “ a guy jumped on his back and they fell on the grass
“You did great man!! . . . You’re awesome!! . . . As expected of our ace . . . “ the guy wrestled with Oshima- . . . . I mean Yuu-kun on the grass.
“Get off of me!! . . . Man, you really like to jump on peoples backs?? . . . “ Yuu-kun said
“ . . . Kuu? . . . “
Mariko stared at the guy intently. The guy looked up.
“ . . . . Mariko . . . “

“K-Kuu . . . Could we talk . . . Even if it’s just a bit” Mariko pleaded as she looked at her ex- boyfriend.
Kuu kept stealing glances on Mariko. He keeps on hesitating.
“M-Mariko I- “
“Kuu, Yuu!! . . . Let’s go celebrate in the clubroom!”
Kuu was cut off by Mayu-senpai who was jogging in our direction.
“Come on, you two! . . . The whole team is waiting for you . . . “ He said as he patted each of them on the back. “Especially you!! . . . . “ he said as he ruffled Yuu’s hair.
“Easy, senpai!! . . . “ Yuu pouted.
“I told you for the hundredth time. . . don’t call me Senpai! . . . We’re just the same age, even though I’m a year higher than you all” he sighed. He looked at each and every one of us. He was a little surprised when his eyes passed on a certain girl.
“Yuki! . . . I didn’t know you were here . . . . Did you watch the game?” he was all smiles when he asked her.
Yukirin blushed and nodded her head vigorously.
“You’re still exaggerated as ever . . . “ he chuckled. “By the way, about our plans on Saturday . . . Are you going?” he asked
“The usual?” she questioned
“Yeah . . . . the usual: me, you and ‘her’ “ he grinned.
Yuki looked crest-fallen. “I see . . . with ‘her’ huh? . . . “ she murmured.
“Gomen ne, Mayu. I already have plans with my friends. If you want you could have a date with ‘her’ , I’m always the third- wheel” she whispered the last part.

Yukirin introduced us one-by-one to Mayu-senpai. After that he introduced his self to us.
“Hey. My name is Watanabe Mayu and I’m in class 2- A but as I said earlier, I’m in the same age as you guys. I’m the captain of the football team and the class president. But I would like to call me Mayu, with no –senpai” he smiled.
“Mayu and I are childhood friends; he has been gifted with intelligence ever since he was a child. That’s why he skipped a grade” Yukirin explained.
“Yo! Mayu, Yuu, Kuu . . . . You’re guys are taking a long time . . . “ Saburo said as he approached us.
“Saburo! . . . Omedetou . . . “ I waved at him.
“Oh! . . .Arigatou Acchan! . . . “ he grinned.
“Come on guys . . . . The team already irritated. . . “ Saburo said.
“Alright, let’s go . . . “ Mayu slapped Kuu and Yuu on the back
Kuu took one last glace at Mariko as he walked away. Saburo and Mayu followed him while Yuu is still standing firmly at his spot.
“Yuuchan . . . Won’t you go with them?” Haruna approached him.
Yuu kept on stealing glances on Haruna.
“Chotto matte . . . “ Yuu chased Mayu and whispered on his ear. Mayu was taken aback on what Yuu has said. He then scratched his head and sighed. He gave a nod then Yuu was grinning and patted him on the shoulder. Mayu went ahead while Yuu went back to us.
“You guys are all invited to the after-party . . . “ he smiled especially to Haruna.
“What do you mean? . . . “ I asked.
“After the celebration at the clubroom, some of the members are going karaoke and you are all invited!”
“Really? . . . “ Yukirin exclaimed.
“Yeah, I talked to Mayu about it” Yuu said
“Sorry but. . . I don’t think I’ll go . . . “ Mariko said as she casted her eyes on the grass
“ . . . Mariko . . . “ I looked at her and hugged her.
“You know. . . you could if it’s a party and a karaoke, there is going to be alcohol involved. Use that chance to make-up with Kuu. Alright?” I whispered in her ear.
“Okay . . . I’ll try” she smiled weakly
“Yehey! Then we could all go. . . “ Haruna clasped her hands in happiness.
“I won’t be going to the party . . . I still need to fetch my sister . . . She is going late tonight because of band practice” I said
“That’s too bad. . . “ Haruna pouted
“Well, you could just go afterwards. . . . . “ Yuu said
“That’s right! You need to carry Mariko afterwards when she’s drunk! . . . “ Haruna chuckled.

“Sorry guys but I have to go to my sister’s school now. Just email me the details later” I told Haruna as I ran out of school.

After the football game has ended, I took my phone which is lying a foot from me.
“Hey . . . “ a girl’s voice called out to me
I didn’t have to turn around to recognize to whom it belongs.
“Were you waiting? . . . . “ she asked as she sit beside me.
“Just a bit” I smiled at her. She noticed my phone at my hand, she snatched it from me and began to scan it.
“H-Hey! . . . It’s private . . . “ I told her as I took it back.
“Are you hiding something from me? . . . “ she eyed me suspiciously
“Nothing! . . . I-It’s nothing” I replied
“Then let me see your messages . . . . “ she ordered
I hesitated. I just can’t give her my phone; she might see my messages with Atsuko. I quickly hid my phone inside my pocket and hugged her suddenly.
“ . . . Kai . . . “ she whispered in my ear.
“Just . . . J-Just trust me okay? . . . “ I said to her
“I will . . . . “ she pulled back from the hug then looked me in the eye seriously. “but if I know that you are cheating behind my back . . . . . You will know what will happen to your beloved sister” she smiled and kissed me in the cheek.
“See you tomorrow . . . Kai” she said as she walked away
I sighed deeply. I was almost caught, if not for my damn parents, my sister and I won’t be stuck in this situation. We could live a happier life. I don’t have to pretend to be a rich, spoiled, obsessed, crazy girl’s boyfriend. I could have gone out with the person that I truly love.
I took my phone out again.
The unsent messages piled up to 39.
“ . . . Atsuko . . . .” I whispered as I let each sound out of my lips.
“Someday . . . . Someday when I could finally solve my family’s problem . . . I could finally send them all to you” I looked at the sky as the clouds slowly float.
I got up from my place and walked towards the station. Praying that I would see her again where there’s only the two of us

Chapter 16
(Kai’s POV)
I took my usual route home. Going to the train station, riding the train and walking towards home. Every after class, this cycle repeats. But this day, this cycle stopped when I saw familiar figure in a café.
Just like the last time I saw her here, she was drinking latte while wearing her earphones. Her eyelashes fluttered when she glances on her clock, she then heaves a sigh after that she twirls a lock of her hair around her finger and smiles from time to time. She closed her eyes and sits comfortably on her chair.
I chuckled. Really, I’ve become conscious on everything she does. I guess I really love her that much.
I went inside the café and sat across her. She didn’t feel my presence. I looked at her latte and smirked; I took it and drank all of it.
“Chocolate . . . . “ I murmured. I stopped for a moment and licked my lips slowly. “ . . With strawberry?? . . . “ . I inspected the straw and saw traces of lip gloss. I blushed instantly and hit my forehead a few times.
“Shit . . . Why did I even do this? . . . I look like a creep . . . “ I glanced at Atsuko who was still closing her eyes. Then I remembered that she played a little prank on me before, I think I’m gonna have my revenge.
I dragged my chair towards her side and took a deep breath. I leaned my ear closer to hers to listen to the song she’s playing.
“ . . . . Jane Doe again? . . . “ I smiled to myself.
I placed my mouth nest to her ear and sang.
“ Kimi wa dare nanda
Kotaete kure . . . . ”
Atsuko flinched and opened her eyes widely.
“KAI!”
“Hahaha . . . . Did I surprise you? . . . “ I laughed.
She slapped me on my arm.
“Gomen, gomen . . . . I just wanted to get back at you . . . “ I grinned. I held up my fist to her she sighed and did the same. Then we bumped our fist together.
She chuckled and said “You know, doing that is kinda childish . . . . “
“Who cares?” I replied. “Anyway . . . . Why are you here again? . . . “ I asked
“Same reason as before: waiting for my sister . . . “
“You really are a kind Onee-san aren’t you? . . “ I smiled at her, showing my dimples.
She blushed and replied “N-Not really”
Just then the café’s door opened.
“Onee-chan!! . . . Did you wait long? . . “ a girl with amazingly huge eyebrows came in.
“Ami! . . . . “ Atsuko stood up from her seat and waved towards the girl.
The girl approached us all smiles.
“Ami, this is Takahashi Kai a friend of mine . . . . Kai, this is Ami, my sister”
“ ‘Kai’ only Nee-chan? No honorifics? . . . “ she asked. Both of us blushed.
She turned her attention to me. “My sister is a very respectful person that’s why she adds honorifics to her friends’ names but for you Takahashi-san, you might not be just a ‘friend’ to Onee-chan . . . . “ she smiled.
I blushed really, really hard. “W-Well . . . “
“But thank you for taking care of my sister. . . “ she bowed.
“Iie . . . Kochira koso . . . “ I also bowed.
Suddenly I heard a loud growling of the stomach. Ami-chan blushed.
“Gomen . . . we were practicing the whole afternoon . . . I didn’t get the chance to eat . . . “
“Don’t worry . . . I left some latte- “ she took the empty container and froze.
“A-Are? . . . . It was half-full when I last check . . . . “
I looked towards the ceiling and just whistled.
“K-A-I!!” I heard her shout.
“Hehehe . . . I was just thirsty . . . “
“That’s no excuse!. . . . You could’ve bought a new one!”
“Well . . . . I liked that particular flavor. . . Chocolate. . . . - “ then I leaned closed to her ear. “With strawberry –flavored lip gloss . . . . “ I whispered seductively. “I’m sure that was only a one-of-a-kind flavor”
She froze for a moment and blushed madly. I could see steam going out from both of her ears. ‘ Really . . . this girl is so adorable. . . ‘ I thought while observing her.
“It’s cute to see Onee-chan getting lovey-dovey with her ‘boy’ friend “ Ami-chan grinned.
“ ‘Bo-Boyfriend?!’ “ Atsuko looked aghast.
“What’s wrong Nee-chan? . . . .He’s your ‘boy’ friend right? . . . . You said earlier that he is your ‘friend’ and it is unmistakable that he is a ‘boy’ . . . Am I wrong?? . . . . “ Ami-chan asked coyly.
“W-Well . . . . I can’t deny that fact . . . “ she blushed.
A loud growling was heard again. I looked at Ami-chan but she shook her head. I turned to look at Atsuko.
“S-Sorry . . . That was me . . . “ she raised her hand apologetically.
I smiled and sighed.
“Looks like I’ve got no choice. .. . . How about a family restaurant?? . . . My treat . . . “ I offered.
“Really?!. . . . Yatta! . . . Let’s go Nee-chan, I’m starving” Ami-chan dragged her sister outside the café. I followed the two figures in front of me.
I glanced at the sky now filled with numerous stars.
“Well, this isn’t so bad. . . . . “

"A-Atsuko . . . . could you go easy on the food?? . . . . " Kai looked at Acchan worriedly as she chows down one food after the other while Ami was looking at their interaction.
"Don't worry Takahashi-san. . . . This is what Onee-chan normally behaves whenever she she faces food . . . . . she is quite a glutton actually" Ami replied calmly.
"How many servings of beefsteak did you eat? . . . . " Kai focused his attention on the woman across from him.
"It's just the 4th serving. . . . . " Acchan replies as she chews on the steak
"Just slow down . . . . no one's going to steal your food from you . . . . " Kai chuckled as he noticed sauce on the corner of Acchan's mouth.
"A beautiful girl like you should have proper table manners you know?? . . . . . " he said as he leaned over to Acchan who stopped eating and was blushing furiously because of the short distance. He carefully wiped the sauce with his thumb.
" . . .. There . . . . " He leaned back on his seat and licked the sauce from his thumb. Acchan's face became red like a tomato,and her gaze was locked on the lips of the person in front of her. Noticing that Acchan was focusing her attention on him and not on her food, Kai asked "Is there something on my face, Atsuko? . . . . . "
"N-Nandemonai. . . . . . " she looked at her steak and began to eat in a lady-like manner.
"Sugoi~ Takahashi-san . . . . you can control my Onee-chan . . . . . " Ami smirked
"W-What are you talking about Ami?! . . . . . " Acchan gave her sister a glare
"Hahaha .. . . It's nothing Onee-chan . . . . " Ami grinned playfully then she looked at her wristwatch. "Oh,look at the time! . . . . . I still have a lot of homework to do . . . . . I'll go ahead Onee-chan, Takahashi-san . . . . please look after my sister . . . . Don't worry about me, just continue your 'little date' . . . . " she bowed at Kai's direction, took her things and ran off.
"C-Chotto . . . . Ami! . . . . " Acchan's voice didn't reach her sister's ears.
She slumped back in her seat.
"I guess she was just teasing you, Atsuko . . . . . " Kai smiled
"I guess so . . . . . " Acchan sighed as she took her last bite
"So, are you full now my princess? . .... " Kai said playfully
"Yes, my dear prince. . . . . " Acchan giggled.
"Now that my princess has finished her dinner, shall I accompany her to somewhere? . . . . ." Kai stood up from his seat and bowed at Acchan while offering his hand like a true prince.
"Yes, I still haven't got desert . . . . . Let's go back to the cafe . . . . and of course, it's your treat again" Acchan winked playfully at him as she gave him her hand
"EEEEHHHHHH??? . . . . . . "
@ the Cafe
Acchan went to the comfort room to wash her hands while Kai is trying to find the seat for the two of them. He chose the location where the both of them can talk comfortably to each other not minding the people near them. He chooses the table at the far-most corner of the Café and then ordered frappe for Acchan and cappuccino for himself.
After washing her hands, Acchan walked silently towards her seat but she stopped behind Kai who was quite busy fiddling his phone. She peeked behind his shoulder unbeknownst to him.
(Acchan’s POV)
‘One time, he ignored me because he was busy texting someone . . . . Maybe it’s his girlfriend? . . . Scratch that thought Atsuko, if he has a girlfriend he won’t be hanging out with you . . . ‘
‘Demo, I’m curious . . . . It’s not like I’m invading his privacy, am I? . . . . ‘
‘I’ll just take one fast glance then go back to my seat . . . . ‘
I leaned in closer to Kai, but enough for me to read his message. If I get even closer he might detect my presence. But the position that I’m in now is dangerous, I am very close to his face, if he turns his head on the left I could kiss his cheek! I erased that embarrassing thought and focused my attention on his cell phone.

I took my seat and mixed the frappe that he ordered with my straw.
“So Kai . . . You have someone you like?” I asked out of the blue while taking a sip on my frappe.
“W-What’s with the sudden question?? . . . . “he asked nervously
“Nothing . . . . just curious . . . well, a guy like you might have a girlfriend . . . Or perhaps, are you gay?” I teased
“O-Of course not! . . . I’m already in high school, it’s natural for me to have someone that I like . . . . and it’s a girl!” he said adverted his gaze from me
“Heh~ Then, could you tell me the name of your special someone?? . . . . C’mon, we’re good friends right?? “ I teased but the question rather took a sharp pain in my heart.

Seconds passed but he did not let out a single sound. I continued to bow my head, afraid of raising it to see his reaction. I cursed myself for making such a heavy atmosphere between the two of us.

(Yuu’s POV)
The girls waited for us when we had our victory party for our first win in football in our clubroom after that we had our 10 minute walk from school to a karaoke bar in Shibuya. There’s Mayu, Yukirin, Kuu, Mariko, Saburo and our football manager, Sae and Haruna and I.
We went by pairs, of course it’s me and Haruna were just walking side by side, Saburo and Sae pushed each other playfully while walking, then there’s Mayu who’s arm is around Yukirin’s shoulder and the girl just blush and take stolen glances on Mayu while walking and lastly Kuu and Mariko who has an obvious distance between them and the latter somewhat have a tense atmosphere.
I grabbed Haruna’s arm and dragged her ahead the other pairs.
“What’s with those two? . . . . “ I asked with a low voice
“Ah, Mayu and Yukirin? . . . . they act lovey-dovey despite being childhood friends . . . . “ Haruna replied while taking a glance at the two behind us.
I raised a brow at her.
“Oshima Yuu, if you’re thinking of doing the same thing as Mayu, forget about it. . . “ she said as she forcefully pulled her arm out of my grasp

She was about to reach for my hand but I quickly put them in my pockets remembering that she feels uneasy when we held hands and acted like I didn’t see her approach. She retracted her hand and looked down sadly.
’Gah! . . . . What the hell Yuu!! . . . . she’s the one who initiated!! . . . . . why did you do that, Baka!!’
Of course, I could not bear looking at the love of my life like that so I playfully bump my shoulder against her. She looked at me dumbfounded but there was a slight sad look in her eyes. I gave her a quick peck on the cheek and grinned.
At an instant she blushed furiously. “Baka Yuuchan! . . . . “ then came a loud SMACK.
Of course I already expected her to slap me, after all she did that many times and I was quite immune to it already.
“Mou~ Nyan nyan . . . . . you were sad that’s why I gave you a Chu! “ I rubbed my right cheek that was hit by my beloved. Feeling a slight sting .
“N-No I’m not sad! . . . . Yuuchan just surprised me so I automatically hit you . . . . “ she fidgeted.
“Aww . . . Kawaii~ . . . Even though you’re tsundere, I still love you Nyan nyan! “ I declared as I gave her a flying, flirting kiss.
She looked away, but I can see her face becoming red.
“So, what happened between those two?? . . . . “ I asked her seriously, forgetting I was playful a while ago.
“You see. . . . umm . .. . Mariko and Kuu were lovers before, but they broke up because of some family feud and . . . . they seem to ignore each other these past few days because of the break-up” Haruna sighed deeply.
“Even though they love each other so much. . . . . . “ she continued
“Ne Yuu . . . . . how much farther are we from the karaoke bar? . . . . “ Saburo called me from behind
“You see that sign with a red lipstick mark with a microphone? . . . . “ I took a glance at my football buddy.
“Yeah . . . . Kuchibiru Karaoke Bar ?? . . . . “ he leered at the sign with neon lights. “Is it safe for us to go there?? . . . . Knowing you, this might be a strip club pretending to be a karaoke bar . . . . “ he said as he turned his attention towards me.
“Relax! . . . . If it were a strip club, then we shouldn’t have brought the girls . . . . “ a grinned playfully as I snaked by arm around Haruna’s waist.
“And besides . . . . Only my Nyan nyan can satisfy me . . . “ I winked at her then poked her suddenly her side
A lewd “A-Ah . . . . “ came out.
I looked at her, surprised.
“Woah, Nyan nyan . . . . that was erotic!! . . . “ I smiled wildly

The tree pairs looked at me unbelievably while Haruna was fuming. She was really red and was huffing and puffing.
“Yup! . . . . Nyan nyan is the only one who can satisfy me! . . . . “ I grabbed her arm and we went inside the karaoke bar. The other 3 pairs followed us inside.
I led them to the guest area where they can rest, they inspected the interior of the building and looked for something suspicious. Finding nothing abnormal, they took a seat and relaxed.
“It’s unexpectedly . . . . . . . Normal” Mayu stated
“Of course it is !!A good friend of mine owns this place . . . . . and I happened to be a VIP because I was a regular costumer . . . . . “ I huffed my chest proudly.
“Ne, Mayu . . . did you tell your girlfriend that you are going to a karaoke bar?? . . . .” Yukirin asked her childhood friend who was sitting beside her.
“Yeah, I told her . . . . . She went to me during our victory party in the club room . . . . “ Mayu replied casually as he fixes his hair
“D-Did she know that we’re together?? . . . . . “ Yukirin fidgeted, stealing glances at him.
“Ah . . . yeah, she knows that you’re with me . . . . . She even told me that I should take you home safely after our karaoke. . . . “ Mayu looked at Yurikin and patted her head like a child
“I-I see . . . “ Yukirin blushed
’That Mayu . . . . he’s so damn smart but why can’t he figure out that his childhood friend has feelings for him?? . . . .
I looked at their interaction for a minute
"By the way guys, I messaged Acchan the location of this karaoke bar but she hasn't replied yet . . . . " Haruna pouted
"She might have been busy . . . . just give her a few minutes and she might message you back . . . " I said.
When they settled down I took a glance at the woman behind the counter and gave her a wave and she waved back in return.
“Okay guys . . . I’ll go to the counter to give us a room, you’ll just wait here in the guest area okay? . . . . “ all of them nodded.
As I was about to go I felt a tug on my sleeve.
“Matte . . . “ she softly said. “I’m coming with you . . . . . “
“Are you sure Nyan nyan? . . . . you could sit for a while, don’t worry it won’t take long . . . . “ I replied
“No . . . . I’m coming with you . . . . “ she said as she cling onto my arm
I blushed at the action that she did and smiled inwardly.
’What made her so overprotective?? . . . . . Well, at least she shows affection to me . . . . . ‘
With Haruna hugging my arm, we walked towards the counter where I was met with a flying kiss and a flirty wink.
I can feel the grip on my arm getting tighter.
“Ara, ara . . . . look who’s here? . . . .” she said huskily. “It’s my little bad boy . . . . “ she said as she leaned in closer to me
“Hahaha . . . It’s been a while Rion-chan . . . . As I can see, you never changed“ I smiled at the woman in front of me. I looked at her from top to bottom like inspecting the changes in her body. Then again, I can feel the grip on my arm getting tighter.
“Ne~ Yuu-kun, I haven’t seen you this past month . . . . I was very lonely . . . “ she said as she approached me and inserted her hands under my shirt, feeling my abs.
“Well I was i- “ I was cut off by Haruna when she pulled me closer and buried my face in her chest.
“Well I’m sorry I ruined your little reunion . . . . but my friends and I were waiting so if you don’t mind, we would like one room please . . . . “ she glared at Rion-chan while hugging me protectively.
“Tsk. Stingy . . . . . “ Rion-chan handed her a card for the room. “Here . . . your room number is 4 . . . . “
“Thank you very much . . . . “ Haruna replied as she loosened her grip on my face.
“Arigatou ne, Rion-chan . . . . . Ah! I forgot to introduce you . . . . Nyan nyan, this is Rion-chan she is the manager of this karaoke bar and is a good friend of mine. Rion-chan, this is Kojima Haruna my-“
“Girlfriend. You heard that right, I am Oshima Yuu’s girlfriend so I would like for you to distance yourself away from him . . . . . . “ she intertwined our fingers as she cut me off.
“Nyan nyan? . . . . . “ I looked at her in disbelief.
’Wow, her jealousy must be so high . .. . . . So that’s why she was overprotective. . . . . Well, Rion-chan's got the looks, well . . . Dare I say this, she also got a hot body! “You mean . . . . those ‘stuffs’ ?? . . . . “ she stopped her acting and smirked at me
“Yeah . . . . . you still have them right? . . . . “ I asked again
“Of course! . . . . You want them now? . . . . “ she grinned playfully as she poked my nose with her finger.
“Ah . . . not now . . . I think we’ll need them later . . . . . “ I grinned back
“Okay . . . . So I think I need to get the ‘stuffs’ that you want. … . .” she gave me a flirty wave and went inside a room.
“Yuuchan. . . . “ Haruna whispered beside me
“Yes, Nyan nyan? . . . . “ I looked at her as played with our fingers
“Baka~ . . . “ she stuck out her tongue at me as she released my fingers from hers.
“I know . . . . You know you are so cute when you’re jealous! . . . . “ I softly pinched her cheeks. “You really have to tell Rion-chan that you are my girlfriend . . . . “ I giggled
'Yeah . . . . sadly it was only pretend . . . . . but still, I got to be her boyfriend for a few minutes . . . . '
“B-But . . . . she was flirting with you! . . . . and you didn’t do anything for her to stop. Did you like the things that she did to you?? . . . . . “ she eyed me suspiciously
“Of course not! . . . . . I told you, only Nyan nyan can satisfy me . . . . “ I leaned my face closer to her and grinned charmingly. She was surprised of the sudden closeness so she instinctively pushes me away.
“Awww . . . . Nyan nyan, you were dere dere earlier, now you’re tsun tsun . . . . “ I pouted as I hugged her arm. “By the way . . . we have to call the others . . . . “
“U-Un. . . .”
As we went back to the guest room Haruna asked “ Ne, Yuuchan . . . . what were the ‘stuffs’ you mentioned earlier?? . . . . ”
“Can’t say anything Nyan nyan . . . . It’s a surprise . . . . . but I will give you one hint: things will be livelier when the ‘stuffs’ will be prepared”

It’s been 10 minutes since we came in room No. 4 of Kuchibiru Karaoke bar but it seems like only two pairs were enjoying their selves; Mayu and Yukirin were taking pictures together while Sae was cheering Saburo who was singing Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen as for Kuu and Mariko, they were sitting far apart from each other. Mariko was sitting at one end of the couch and Kuu on the other, both of their heads are casted downwards. I felt sorry for the two of them so I began to think of a plan to ‘spice things up’.
“Okay I assume that all of you are hungry or thirsty, I’ll go get the food . . . Nyan nyan, would you come with me? . . . . “ I asked the girl who was clinging to me a few moments ago.
“No . . . . “ she replied shortly
“Awww . . . . C’mon Nyan nyan . . . pretty please? . . . . “ this time I gave her my puppy-eyes
“No . . . . “ she didn’t even glance at me as she continued flipping the pages of the song book.
I sighed. “Okay then . . . . “ I was about to open the door when-
“Ah . . . . . Rion-chan . . . . “ as I said the name of the person who took a peek inside of the room, I could feel a piercing glare behind my back.
“Ah, Yuu-kun! . . . . perfect timing, I was about to ask for your help in carrying your drinks . . . . “
“Listen . . . . about the drinks did you-“
“Already done it! I knew what you were think you sly, little squirrel . . . . we’ve been friends for, who knows how long? . . . I know you too well. . . . “ she said as she raised a brow at me and poked my nose while smirking
“Hahaha as expected of Rion-chan. . . . . Are they ready?? .. . . . “ I grinned
“Yep . . . . But I can’t carry them all alone . . . . . Ne, you wouldn’t mind helping me right? . . . . . “ she approached me seductively and put her hands on my chest. Then she looked at the person behind me and smirked.
“Of course I would- “
“Not be helping you . . . . . “ Haruna grabbed me by my collar and pulled me away from Rion-chan. “Yuuchan and I have a duet. . . . . . Saburo, Kuu . . . . go get our drinks . . . . “ she glared at my two friends who were protesting.
Suddenly, Haruna’s aura became dark and I can see it seeping from her body.
“Get.Our.Drinks.NOW!” she shouted as the two boys hurriedly went out of the room, Rion-chan just winked at me as she closed the door.
“Wow, Haruna . . . . . You’re so . . . . . “ Mariko started as she stared at Haruna from head to toe.
“Possessive . . .. . “ Yukirin finished Mariko’s sentence.
“We’ll that’s because she already marked her territory . . . . Isn’t that right? . . . . “ Sae teased her as she began to blush.
“Yuu is such a ladies’ man . . . . “ Mayu gave me a thumbs-up
“W-What are you guys talking about?! . . . .” she plopped herself right back at her seat and I took a seat beside her.
“Relax Nyan nyan . . . . . they are just having fun, don’t take them too seriously . . . . “ I said in a soothing voice in order to calm her down.
“Fun?! Fun?! . . . . . . Aren’t you the one who is having the most fun, Oshima?! . . . . . “ she glared while distancing herself away from me.
“Of course not Nyan nyan . . . . . “ I pouted.
’Does she really get jealous easily? . . . . . If I’m going to joke about it, she’s going to hate me for sure. . . . . I need to be serious about this matter . . . . . ’
“I told you Rion-chan and I, are only good friends, nothing more . . . . . “ I took her hand in mine and looked straight into her eyes.
“Yeah, she might just be a good friend to you . . . but is it really the same case for her? . . . . . “ she adverted her gaze and retracted her hand.
“Of course it is . . . . “ I said matter-of-factly
“She was flirting at you, for God’s sake! . . . . . are you too dense to see that? . . . . . “
Awkward silence filled the room. Even the music from the karaoke machine stopped. None of us moved.
“Whew, it looks like Saburo and Kuu are having a hard time carrying those drinks. . . . how about we help them out?? . . . . “ Sae stood up and dragged the two other girls out of the room and Mayu followed behind them. He looked at me and mouthed the words “Good luck “ as he closed the door, leaving me and Haruna alone inside.
Taking this as an opportunity to clarify things with Haruna, I stood up and kneeled in front of her.
“Nyan nyan. . . . . Just let explain“ I placed my hand in top of hers but she just looked away.
’F*ck . . . . where should I start? . . . . Gah, I really don’t know how to do this!! . . . . . it’s true that Rion-chan flirts with me, that I can’t deny but I don’t like her like that … . And besides she . . .. ’
A sudden idea came to me. I grabbed the song book from the table and flipped through the pages.
“Aha . . . there it is . . . . . “ quickly putting the corresponding number to the karaoke machine, I grabbed the microphone and stood in front of Haruna as the music started playing.

“D-Datte . . . . . *sniff . . Datte Nyan Nyan doesn’t want to marry me in the future, and slapped me hard because she detests the idea of marrying me! . . . . “ I don’t care if mucus was coming out of my nose, I too hurt to wipe it off.
“Yuuchan is really baka . . . .” she approached closer to me and pinched both of my cheeks. “I-It’s not like that you know . . . . I am already sure that I’ll end up with Yuuchan in the future . . . . “ she blushed furiously when she said that “B-But I want to experience love in a normal pace . . . . “Slow down Sae-chan! . . .. Mou~” I whined as the sporty girl continued to drag me and Mariko on the hallway.
“Maa~ the atmosphere was too heavy back there . . . . I have a difficulty in breathing” Mariko said whike she wiped her sweat in her forehead.
“Right . . . . What’s going on with those two? . . . . “ Sae asked as we approached the guest area.
“Yuu is Haruna’s suitor . . . . Well, he already met the parents of Haruna though. . . . “ Mariko said as she took a seat
“Heh~ I thought they were already going out . . . . the way she scold Yuu back there was like that of a girlfriend . . . . . “Sae sighed
“Well, Yuu is also partly to blame because he also entertained the Rion-girl . . . . “ I chided in
“He can’t help it . . . . it’s in his nature, all boys are like that you know? . . . . “ Mayu said as he approached us
“ You’re like that too? . . . . “ I moved a little bit giving some space to sit on the sofa.
“Of course . . . . didn’t I just told you? All boys are like that . . . . even though I have a girlfriend I still approach you right? . . . . Mariko and Sae eyed me suspiciously.
“Heh~ Must be nice . . . Right Yukirin? . . . . “ Mariko smirked at me while Sae was chuckling
“But it’s such a waste that Mil- Gah!” Sae could not continue what she was about to say because Mariko elbowed her in the stomach. Hard.
“Sae-chan, please read the atmosphere . . . . “ Mariko scolded
“That was quite a blow! . . . .. if I didn’t have abs, I would’ve spurted blood right now . . .” Sae rubbed her tummy gently while the three of us looked at her and sweat-dropped.
I curled my fist on my lap and focused on them.
I already know what she was about to say . . . . it might not be possible now because I am not the only person in his heart . . . . Someday, I believe that someday I will be the only person that he will love, but for now I will support him as his friend and wait for that someday to come . . . .

“What are you guys doing here, I thought you were inside? . . . . “ Saburo came out of the room carrying a not-so-well Kuu on his arm.
“Kuu! . . . . What happened?! . . . . “ Mariko stood up and hurriedly went to her ex-boyfriend
Kuu, hearing Mariko’s voice raised his head and grinned at her like a stupid person.
“Mari *hic –chan . . . . *hic *hic” he reached out his hand to reach Mariko’s face “Mari-chan . . . . *hic pretty . . . . *hic”
“Ha?! What are you saying you idi-“
Mariko was cut off when Kuu slammed his lips on hers. Mariko was surprised and began to push Kuu away but Kuu held her tightly on her shoulders, Mariko struggled when Kuu began to insert his tongue inside her mouth. “A.Hmmph . . . S-Sto- mmmph . . . K-Ku-. Ah, stop Hmmph . . . L-Let me g-go . . . . ”
Kuu stopped kissing her but did not release his grip on her shoulders.
“No way . . . . I am not letting go *hic of you *hic *hic . . . . again . . . “ Kuu looked at her straight to the eyes. Mariko saw her reflection in his eyes, but she saw something else. Love, confusion, sadness and anger . . . . . Kuu gripped her shoulders tighter.

“It was an accident . . . . Really, when we helped Rion in the kitchen, Kuu suddenly felt thirsty so he rummaged in the refrigerator and found a bottle which he thought contained water . . . . . but don’t worry, it was only one gulp. After a few minutes he will be sober” Saburo explained
“By the way, where is Rion? . . . . . “ Mayu asked, earning a questioning glare from Yuki.

“Ne~ Kai . . . . . Just what am I to you? . . . . “
Acchan gripped tightly on the edge of her shirt, waiting for him to answer. Every second of silence is slowly killing her, afraid of knowing what Kai truly feels about her. Dreaded by uneasiness she spoke when she saw that Kai was about to open his mouth.
“I’m sorry . . . . . it’s just that . . . You are the first guy that I have been close to. Well, except for Saburo that is, so I just wanted to know what you think of me as a person . . .“
’ I wanted to know what you think of me as a girl . . . I wanted to know if I have a chance. It’s the first time that felt this . . . and I don’t know what to do . . ‘
Kai gave her a smile.
“I’m honored that I’m the closest guy to you . . . . . except for your relatives . . . . but for me, Atsuko you are th- “
Kai was cut off by the ringing of his phone.
“S-Sorry . . . . Excuse me but I have to take this . . . “ he was about to stand up but Acchan was faster than him.
“You don’t have to go outside . . . . I’ll just go to the comfort room . . . . “ and with that she left Kai alone in their table giving his cell phone a glare.
“What do you need? . . . . “ he answered it rather harshly
“Kai~ . . . . where are you? . . . . I miss you, you know? . . . “
The caller from another line gave a flirty voice which annoys the midget even more but he has no choice but to reply to her calmly in order to please her.
“I’m outside . . . . I had a bad day so I’m just wandering around . . . . “ he replied in a monotone voice.
’It’s because you called . . . . and I was about to confess you b****!! . . . ‘
“Heh~ . . . . should I accompany you? . . . “
“I’d rather be alone . . . . “ he sighed
“Are you saying that you don’t want to be with me?! . . . . “ the person on the other line shouted which caused Kai to distance the phone from his ear
“It’s not like that . . . . I want to be in a calm environment to relax. . . . “ he soothed his voice in order to calm the other person down.
“Ah, I see . . . . how about I give you a massage! . . . but I don’t know how, but then the one massaging you would touch your body all over, and I don’t want that. . . So, I’ll just punch you lightly, that could count as a massage right? . . . . Just endure it ne~” she said happily like she came up with a brilliant idea.
“You’re an idiot . . . . “ Kai sighed while he facepalmed
“What did you say?! . . . ”
“I said thank you for your concern but I’m fine . . . . “
“You’re welcome . . . . “ the person on the other line chuckled.
Kai glanced at the direction of the comfort room and at his watch.
“Ne, how’s Minami-chan doing? . . . . Is she doing well? . . . “ Kai asked worriedly because he had not heard any news about his twin sister for a few days.
“Nami-chan? . . . . yeah, she’s alright . . . . “
“Yokatta . . . “ Kai sighed in relief
“Well, that is when you behave Kai~ . . . . Nothing happens to your precious sister. . . You know what my father can do to her, if you won’t meet my demands, your sister who has been topping the music charts won’t be recognized anymore~ . . . . “
Kai clenched his jaw tightly preventing him to vent out his anger to the other person,he replied grudgingly “ . . . . I already understand that . . . “
“Hmm~ that’s good . . . . “ Kai could imagine that devilish smile on her face.
When Kai saw Acchan who just went out of the comfort room he immediately said “I gotta go now. . . . bye” he then turned ended the call.
“Hey, Atsu- “ he was about to call her but his phone started ringing again.
Not bothering to look at the caller’s name, he answered the call
“ . . . Yes ?. . . “
“Aren’t you forgetting something? . . . . “ the other person said it rather impatiently
“Uh . . . . Goodnight? . . . “ Kai replied rather unsurely
“ . . . And? . . . . “
“Umm . . . . . Sleep tight? . . . . “ He thought of something to end this conversation as he saw Acchan approaching their table
“ . . . And? . . . “
“ . . . . Don’t let the bed bugs bite? . . . “
’What the heck does this woman want?! . . . .
“Mou~ . . . . If you don’t say it, I’ll do something bad to Nami-chan . . . “ her tone is sweet but it has an obvious threat.
“Okay, okay . . . . . I love you. Goodnight.” Kai then turned off his phone to prevent unnecessary disturbances for him and Acchan.
(Acchan’s POV)
“Okay, okay . . . . . I love you. Goodnight.”
I was able to hear Kai at a short distance. Well that answers my question. I wish I didn’t hear that, it really is painful to know that someone you like likes somebody else.
Wait a minute, did I just told myself that I like Kai?
Maybe, I really do. If I don’t, I won’t have to feel this hurt in my chest.
Should I confess? Or should I just keep this one-sided love of mine and just accept the fact that we can never be more than just friends.
But if I could confess I would make Kai choose between me and his girlfriend. If he chooses his girlfriend, everything would be awkward between us I would ruin the relationship that we have. I don’t want that.
I want to talk to him, I want to tease him, I want to laugh with him, I want to make memories together with him, I want to spend time together with him, I want to be by his side.
Because I love him.
But we can’t be together.
Because he already has somebody else.
“ . . . suko? . . . . Ne, Atsuko? . . . “
Kai’s worried voice snapped me out of my trance. I could feel both of his hands on my shoulder gripping them tightly.
“U-Uh . . . K-Kai? . . . “ I looked at Kai’s anxious face with his eyes focused on mine.
‘Kai, please don’t do this . . . . ‘
“Are you alright Atsuko? . . . . “ his voice is full of concern
’Please . . . . don’t make me . . . ‘
I could feel my tears welling up in my eyes. I refused to blink in order to prevent them from falling.
I could feel his thumb brushed on my cheek. “ . . . Tell me what’s wrong? . . . “
’Don’t make me fall for you even harder!’
I rushed outside the café and let the tears fall down because it can’t hold it any longer. I ran as I wiped my eyes with the back of my hand. My heart paced faster because of hurt and also the running. Then, I could feel the shivers on my spine but I decided to ignore it. I wasn’t looking while running and ended up bumping someone.
I sat on the ground with tears still in my eyes.
I looked at the person who I bumped into and apologized sincerely.
“M-Maeda-san? . . .. “ he asked
“Y-Yes? . . . . “ now that I looked at him carefully I finally recognized him.
“Sa-Sato Takeru?! . . . . “
“Umm . . . . Yeah. Nice meeting you here . . . . “ he stood up and reached for my hand.
“A-Arigatou . . . . “ I thanked him as he pulled me to stand. “Again, sorry for bumping into you . . . . “ I bowed.
“It’s alright . . . . “ he smiled. “Were you crying? . . . . “
“Ah . . . N-No, I wasn’t . . . . “ I quickly wiped my eyes.
He just looked at me for a minute and decided to brush off the topic that he started.
“How about I take you home? . . . . “ he offered
I was a bit scared. I don’t fully trust this guy because I have a feeling that he is stalking me and I always have goosebumps whenever he is around. It’s already bad that we are from the same neighborhood because we ride the same bus, it would be worse if he knows the exact location of my house.
“No, it’s alright . .. . you don’t have to. You might have some plans already and I have to catch up with my friends . . . “ I decided to step backwards a little
“I could take you there . . . . “ noticing that I distanced myself away from him, he took a step closer.
“Y-You don’t have to . . . . “ I took another step backwards
“I’m not a bad person . . . . “ he smiled, taking a hold of my hand.
I just stood there nervously and avoided looking at him.
’He’s a guy and I’m a girl . . . . I can’t fight him. He’s also from the karate club, I would just hurt myself if I tried to escape . . . ‘
Looks like I’ve got no choice.
I took a deep breath and sighed.
“Oka-“
“Atsuko! . . . . . “ I turned back to see Kai running towards us. “Why did you ran away? . . . . I was worried you know?”
He looked at me then at Sato Takeru then at his hand which is holing mine then back at me again.
I can’t believe it, he chased after me?
But he saw me holding hands with Sato Takeru. . . . What would he think?
Kai just stared at me and then held out his fist in front of me.
“K-Kai? . . . “ I asked. Is he gonna punch me or what?
He then turned his direction to my hand which is holding Sato-kun’s.
’Ah, I get it . . . He would use fist bump as an excuse so that I could let go of Sato-kun’s hand . . . . A smart move Kai’
I quickly let go of Sato-kun’s hand and bumped my fist on Kai’s. then he pulled me closer to his side.
“Who is this fellow Atsuko? . . . . “ he asked
“He’s Sato Takeru. He’s from our school and I just happened to bump into him . . . . “ I replied
“Souka, nice to meet you . . . . . My name is Takahashi Kai . . . . “
Kai turned his attention towards me and didn’t let Sato-kun to reply.
“I believe we have to go somewhere, right Atsuko? . . . . “ I just nodded and let him drag me away from Sato-kun.
When Sato-kun’s figure cannot be seen anymore, Kai stopped and looked at me.
“Why did you ran away? . . . did I do something wrong? . . . “ he asked worriedly
“No . . “ I lied. “ . . . I just . . . “ I hesitated to give an answer.
“It’s okay if you wouldn’t tell me. . . . “ he smiled at me kindly.
“Kai . . . “ I’m happy that he is understanding
“Tell me, is that guy bothering you? . . . “ he asked
“That guy? . . . . You mean Sato-kun? . . . “ I asked
He gave me a short nod.
“Umm . . . No, he doesn’t. He just persisted to accompany me . . . . “ I sighed.
“Why? . . . Where do you plan to go? . . . “ he asked as he gripped my hand securely on his.
I blushed because I just realized that we were holding hands for quite some time now and he has no plan of letting go.
“My friends invited me to the victory party of the football club. . . in the Kuchibiru Karaoke bar . . . “ I said
“You mean, Saburo and the others? . . . they also invited me. How about we go there together? . . . . “ he grinned at me
“Okay, I’ll just make a call . . . . “ I took out my phone in my pocket with my free hand. Of course, I don’t want to let Kai’s hand go
“Moshi moshi . . . . . “
”Moshi moshi . .. . Mariko? . . . . . “
“Acchan? . … where are you now? . . . . “
” I’m already on my way there, also I dragged a friend with me . . . . “

Mariko ended the call and I put my phone back into my pocket.

We took a ride in the taxi because we didn’t know the exact location of the karaoke bar. Thankfully it was popular so the driver knows its location. Meanwhile Kai and I are seated close together but we didn’t talk when we went inside the taxi.
I’m having a hard time to open up a topic because most of the things that filled my head Kai having a girlfriend and I have no chance to confess.
After a moment of silence, Kai decided to speak up.
“Atsuko, you asked me before if what you are to me right? . . . . “ he faced me and placed his hand on top of mine but I refused to look at him. I am sure that he is going to say that we are just friends. But I thought wrong.
“Atsuko . . . . To me, you are the 2nd most important girl in my life”
