[ikiNews] Kusumi Koharu's first solo song Koi * Kana (http://ikimasshoi.jphip.net/index.php/archives/259)
Koharuchan will sing both the opening and ending for a new idol-themed anime titled Kirarin*Revolution. A Koi * Kana (opening song) preview can be found at Page 2 thanks to tama-chan. So far, it's not planned to put her on a full soloist schedule.

According to this, Kusumi will be singing OP and ED to the anime series Kairin*Revolution.
According to Sanspo and Sponichi, Kusumi Koharu, the newest Momusu (she’s the7th gen winner) known as Morning Musume Miracle Member, will be singing the opening and ending themes for a new anime named Kirarin * Revolution. And not only that, but she will also play the voice of the main character! Daily Sports reports the presentation.
The original manga has been released under Ciao, and has 5 volumes released. Author is Nakahara An.
Kirari is a junior high school girl who is beautiful but glutton girl. She happens to meet Hiwatari Seiji of a popular idol group, SHIPS, and fell in love with him. To fullfil her love, she became an idol. (Info from Animeinfo)
Hitomi Yoshizawa (leader of PucchiMoni, Gatas Brillhantes and Morning Musume) will also appear in the anime as herself!
Koharu is recording the OP and ED for the anime. She's been in MoMusu for less then a year and she's already got a solo single planned.

:) Wow.. I think she has integrated into MM very well. IMO her looks seem to be improving 10 fold! (when she first joined, I thought 'meh', but after watching the sexy boy PV I thought *_* WOW, was that really Kusumi). She has matured a lot. GOOD LUCK KUSUMI!!!!!!!!!!

I still (well, I didn't mention this at first, but anyway) find this piece of news so bizarre. Koharu out of all members getting a huge push like this! But it makes sense. She's FRESH, really cute, learns fast, and I guess UFA wants to prove she really is the miracle Tsunku promised. I love those pigtails :lol:
It's certainly interesting to see such things happen in H!P world.

I agree with you though. this really can't be classified as "going solo", it's just a side-project for her besides being in MM.
when I mentioned that rumour, sorry for being unclear, but I meant that it was rumoured someone was going to be a full-fledged soloist.

Koharu solo debut is only this: she's debuting in a song she sings solo.
So far, it's not planned to put her on a full soloist schedule.
Now, imagine that people likes it! And, you know that anime series change its OP and ED very frequently, lol. It's so great to do an anime about an idol boy group starring a girl who wants to become and idol girl just to be with the idol boy. News and Momusu fans reunited lol

just finished watching first ep....it's pretty average shoujo anime, but Koha did a pretty nice job for an amateur voice actress...I think Ill keep watching it until Yossie's appearance at least :D

Oh, I'm sorry, but I really hate both songs. Or not the songs, but Koharu's voice. She sounds completely amateur and her voice irks me. It sound sooo strained. I don't know, it's like listening to Rika when she first joined singing a solo song.
I still like Koharu, though, she's kinda cute. But she's not prepared at all to be a solo singer, IMHO.

Kirarin*Revolution is doing so well in ratings. Because of this, the anime got deals such a Tamagochi special release with Kirarin's pet, that dog, the McDondals promotion, and something else I've read but I don't remember :p

Jan Ken Pyon, Chokotto Love, Love Machine, Happy Summer Wedding, The Peace! etc...
You could say Japan was/is really kiddish in music taste. That's what made MM and H!P big in the first place.

I am so completely addicted to this song! I mean, Koha's voice in it isn't great, but the song is love, and it fits her so imcredibly well! I love how her spazzy nature fits the dance in the PV!! Can't wait to see the SingleV :heart:

Just pisses me off she's constantly compared to Nacchi even if the two are on TOTALLY DIFFERENT PARTS OF THEIR CAREER. I'll be impressed if Koharu still sells 1000 copies 8 years from now.

She's not compared to Nacchi :p Nacchi and the others have an awesome career of gorgeous singles, Koha has none. Just mentioned both Single V were out on the same day lol I still prefer the other soloists to Koha. The point of this all is what romi said: kids need their idol too. Nacchi, Maki and Ayaya are already targeted and trying to expand to more people by a more mature image. Now Koharu might take the "cute songs" tag and release Koi no Tph Goal, Yeah Meccha... songs styles. I'd be ok with it. After all, we all know that Maki, Nacchi and Ayaya can make bigger sales with a fucking good because their fanbase is bigger. Koharu's still growing hers.
It's obviously that the release date has a lot do to with it. Nacchi debuting when Maki did would have mean more sells for her. Koharu debuting when Nacchi did would have been more sells for her. It's all bout the popularity and sales of the girls at the moment of the release. Considering this Koharu did a pretty big job. UFA should definitely relate her career to kids now she's still young and pure.

I'm so proud of Koharu. When I have more money I'll be adding the Single and Single V to my collection one day.
Other anime-attached songs I remember:
Berryz's Nanchuu Koi wo Yatteruu YOU KNOW was the ending theme for Patalliro Saiyuki anime. I downloaded it and was horrified such great songs were the opening and ending song for that horrid creation.
Also along with Tanpopo's Last Kiss, Tsunku himself had quite a few other things going with the Orphen series. Sharan Q actually did songs for it, and Orphen Revenge had three more for it:

Koharu is awesome! I hope all this new people buying her cd lately go and buy the second single on its first week. That'd be OMG. Now two or three weeks more, and 40K is here :D

Not counting them, as I did, we have to travel back and back in time and look for Yuko and Ayaya. The whole point is: Koharu rules. :D

I think in addition to the obsessed wota buyers there are more casual Kirarin*Revolution watching buyers, thus extending the sales over a longer period. The single is also cleverly marketed. There is the tie-in with the anime, Koharu's appearances at Oha Star (including a mini drama about Kirari wanting to get a CD release) and a karaoke toy thing featuring the song. It all helps and it shows who the potential buyers of today are: kids.

Just curious... in terms of number of untis sold... Goto never reached 37K for sales volume on her singles? I would think of Goto as the bread earner for revenue for H!P. Either her or Ayaya since they seem like the most popular. Anyways, just curious, not trying to stomp on Koharus parade or anything.
