Hm parameters? Ok here's a few so everyone doesn't go off track. Haha.

1) All 50 single titles have to be referenced either directly or indirectly. If indirectly, it has to be obvious enough for the reader to figure it out. Eg. Soap bubbles = shabondama.

2) Let's set a word limit at 1000 words max. We don't need to write anything that long.

feel free to exceed it if necessary though.

3) Crack is the preferred currency, but if you can make a sad story out of it by all means go ahead.

4) Have fun. There is no deadline.

Briefly turning this into the "I'm not dead, I swear" thread.

just letting everyone know that my recovery is kinda happening slower than I expected and I'm still blind as fuck (I'm so proud I even navigated to the forum yay ahahah) so I prob won't be around for another few weeks.

Will some kind soul please help me!!, im in distress DX there was this awesome fanfic that i hae read months ago and i cant rememebr the title...it was kinda about some strange guy gave eri powers and she uses them to help the other members when they fight UGH!! I wish i rememeber :

Wow, this place has been deader than a skinned squirrel....no idea where that metaphor came from.

To get some discussion going... for writers, where do you usually get your ideas from? Or how?

To not leave the readers out...um, what sort of stories do you like to see? You know, we really ought to have a thread just for random plot bunnies. I have too many to write and not enough of me to go around.

Ok, to answer my own questions... I find that I usually come up with my best ideas in the shower. o_o I mean, I get inspired by all sorts of things, but when a story takes hold/comes into shape, most of it is framed in the shower.

I think better while scrubbing myself clean haha. But usually I'll be reading or watching something and I'll be like "aha! idea!", but it doesn't get written unless I have a working foundation...which happens in the shower.

And as for stories I like to see....I generally like anything funny.

I mean, angst is great and all but damnit I want another On Call (*coughs* graaaac where are youuuuuuu) or another oldie like Another Day at H!P. Oh, throwing an idea out to anyone who wants to write it, but there's a fanmade game called HarunaQuest (lol) and I was thinking...someone really ought to make a crack!story out of this. Hmm...that one shot in my sandbox...

We ought to have a competition for funniest story some time. As someone once said, any onion can make someone cry, but it takes skill to make someone laugh. Or tickles. That works too.

Sooooo mods? Think we ought to have some kind of event around here soooooon?

i get my ideas from all over, mostly from listening to songs and if i find a good translation i go with it. next to that its blog posts or if its gakimama stuff my godsister helps in her own ways ^^;

a competition would be a pretty cool idea~ it'd be fun to see what everyone can brew out of their heads with certian themes and stuff!

There's a second release of HarunaQuest coming... in the near future.

As for what I like to read... you know, this is hard. I like short, cheesy stories, and usually the ones that describe a scene or a pairing is enough for me. Long plots, especially when serialized on a forum like this, tend to make my one-track mind lazy and conflict with my 'best things stay small;, so I am not too fond of Change The World Epics (no matter how well they are written). I certainly wouldn't mind a crack continuation of Eripon's Quest To Save The Princess (who doesn't need saving) with RihoRiho, Don Quixote style complete with Eripon Happening Of The Week.

I blame this incoherence on tea, by the way.

I got HarunaQuest up and running. However, I am a baka when it comes to games, especially when the instructions are in Japanese. Can some one come up with some quick notes on how to play the game? And, is this the sort of game where you just keep hitting return and there are no branches?

Lololol uh I guess I should summarize the story so far. Apparently there's an apocalyptic event in the real world that snapped everyone into this alternate dream reality (Tsunku explains this) but everyone above 18 is in a catatonic state after the transfer (aka they are NPCs) and the only way to get everything back to normal is to gather your allies and collect the "colors" that will allow you to return to the real world. Harunan has to find the rest of 10th gen who are located northwards, Fukuchan is apparently adventuring with Riho and Zukki in the west (Eripon's info), Eripon is wandering around looking for Gaki-san, and Ayacho is gathering her S/mileage members for the grand quest as well. I haven't gotten very far in game either cos I got my ass kicked in an optional battle haha. But that first slime battle is winnable only after you get the special ability lol. Now if only I can patch the game into English...lol.

I see. So, this is a game similar to DragonQuest (something I have not played, my game fu is weak).

What are the basic controls of the game? I think I have figured that if your in an exposition mode then you have to keep hitting return. (I wish one could cut and paste the dialog into google translate.) Then when you are out of exposition mode, you can use the arrows to move around the screen. When you get to something that "is useful" you can go up to it and hit return.

Other than that, there might be a world of controls that I am not aware of that are important in game play.
