I was looking forward to seeing this anime since last month, I'm glad I picked it up since the dance is fluid, its really smooth and the graphics itself is good, also its really impressive, the mechas, especially the ship where the girl's themselves performed. I love how they used 3D on the dance and the mecha, it definitely fitted the part.

The girls acting was really wonderful, I was surprised, they sure really do a surprising good job at it.

Story wise, it was alright, it suits it, though I still don't feel anything that much about the idol ban....why did it happen though? I want to know. I also want to know what happened to Mayuyu's character though...why its only Orine, Yuuka and Nagisa that's there...

Music wise, its fine, I love the song playing next after Aitakatta, and I'm seriously hooked to it, I want to get my hands on that song when it gets released.

I'm looking forward to episode two next week!

I'm already adding this to my lists of 'to watch'.

Shoujotachi yo? It's the first song on AKB48 3rd album (1st original album) "Koko ni ita koto."

Oh, I thought it was a new song, since most songs featured in animes are either the new promotional ones sung by the seiyuus, either as an OP or ED, or insert.... Thanks for telling me.

It's a really catchy song.

I didn't have high expectations of the anime but gosh, the first episode really blew me away!

1. I identify with the characters' feelings about idols and entertainment. AKB48 and all other idol and entertainment acts have brought me so much joy and given me lots to look forward to everyday. No matter how tired or horrible I feel after a bad day at work, AKB48 (and other artistes) have never failed to cheer me up with their music, videos and pictures. A world without entertainment is unimaginable and most of all, unforgivable.

2. The soundtrack really helps to bring out the mood of the different scenes and we get to hear different versions of past AKB48 songs such as the lovely instrumental version of Aitakatta played while Nagisa was tossing and turning in bed. And that song at the end! I literally felt shivers when the song started as Nagisa raced through the streets. I knew Nagisa would make it to the shuttle somehow but the animation, song and voice acting combined made my heart clench in anxiety and had me rooting for her all the way!

3. High production values, need I say more?

4. Convincing voice acting by our girls. Amina's acting really got to me (in a good way, of course). Mayuyu's child voice was darn adorable especially when she exclaimed "Kirara!" As for the professional seiyuus, they are great as usual but I still need some time to get used to them voicing the AKB48 girls.

5. Takamina's ribbon of justice

I'm looking forward to the next episode. Can't wait to find out what happened to Chieri (Mayuyu's character)!

are there any other subbers besides from evetaku?

they prefer some translations to make it sound "nice" than rather translate exactly what the characters are really saying or singing.

sorry but imagine hearing and understanding something then reading the subtitles are off is irritating for me.

(i don't understand all nihongo words yet that is why i still need subtitles from time to time) so imagine i could be "understanding" something using the current subs and yet in the actuality, the real meaning is different.

anyway the first episode was really great (minus some of the the translated subtitles), i am looking forward to watching the next one.

well, very nice first episode and they gave a good introduction to the series as well..
can't wait for the next episodes

is it just me or iwata karen (?) as nagisa sounds a bit off...

it's not bad, but her low voice kinda off with the super cute (and super pink) nagisa...

Really glad to see Haruka participating in the AKBingo "Manga" special, and in the "AKB0048" anime.....
it seems like this recent activity has put a smile on her face, and a spring in her step.....
things are looking up!!

I thought Iwata did a great job. I don't really like helium voices, so Iwata was like whoever is voicing the protagonist of Mouretsu Pirates-- a welcome fresh sound, and more realistic-sounding to boot.
