HI-FIN is a lot better but not really the kind of music that I'm into. Still, all of the girls look great in the PV and thankfully they aren't actually cleaning up a beach while singing.

PUFFY (AmiYumi) has an MV where they are doing this (cleaning up a beach while singing), and it's just as exciting as it sounds.

Edit: I went back and re-watched the Mellow Quad PV and paid more attention to the lyrics. So bizarre. I mean, I kinda get what they were going for, but...yeah. Kinda creepy.

So what you're saying is that I shouldn't go watch it, right?

If you want to watch Ami and Yumi toss tires, pick up trash and occasionally sing to the camera for four minutes, go ahead. It might be on YouTube, but I haven't checked in a while (I have the DVD, so I can watch beach cleanup whenever I want!).

It's a good song -- "Sunrise," if you wanted to know -- but the video has always puzzled me.

Also, in regards to HI-FIN: I'm glad the vocals are decent, because I know I read more than one comment about how the unit was a lost cause vocally when the Satoumi units were announced.

Idol fans, I swear. If there's a negative to be found, leave it to us to sniff it out. I'm not sure if it's the sheer amount of time some of these girls have been in the business or if H!P is implementing a new policy for training or what, but within the past year or so I've been really impressed with the progress most of the girls have been making. Plus I've always had a soft spot for Fukuda and Nakajima's voices so I'm probably just biased.

More on topic though, I haven't cared much for the Satoyama/Satoumi songs but Dia Lady is a damn good unit.

Well, everyone knows that idols are SRS BZNS.

Of the Satoyama groups, I only liked DIY. But two out of three for the Satoumi groups is pretty good, I think! Too bad none of them seem to be on iTunes outside of Peaberry (unless I'm just looking in the wrong places).

I'm pretty sure most if not all of the Satoyama groups have their music on iTunes. Japanese iTunes that is.

More on topic though, I haven't cared much for the Satoyama/Satoumi songs but Dia Lady is a damn good unit.

Fukuda is a really good singer. Her talent is spoilt on S-mileage, though (I love the group's music but the high-pitched voices stuff puts me off most of the time).

Hi-FIN sounds very good considering some of the singers involved, but it's understandable since they're harmonizing throughout the whole song. Fukuda is good already; both Ishida and Nakajima's worst qualities (an excessively forceful voice in the former's case and an extremely squeaky voice in the latter's) are overcome by their blending in with the other voices. The same could be said of Hagiwara - not a big fan of her voice type - and well, you can't hear Ikuta too much either so all's good :)

Mellowquad is creepy and weird but not in a funny way. Definitely the worst of the 3 songs.

And Dialady's is amazing. Love the style, love the singers, love the harmonies - yay yay and yay for Risako's alto pitch being put to great use - and love absolutely everything about the song and the video. Takui's earning more of my respect every passing day.
