Top row: Yuka Ogura's second book, Yuno Ohara's second, Wachi Minami's first, Marina Nagasawa's third (i think)
Bottom row: Nagi Nemoto's first book, Nemopero (Nagi x Rin Kaname), Rena Takeda's second, Nemu Yumemi's Peppermint minibook, Yuka Ogura's first book
I'll give my opinion on all my books when I don't feel so lazy
Here is my ranked order:
2-5 were very close with 6 only a little behind. The rest fell into place. I will talk about each one by order of organization.
Yuka Ogura's second bookThis book is as intriguing as Yuka Ogura is beautiful. It may be smaller in size, but it roughly has the same amount of pages (probably a few more). This book features a diverse range of sets and has some very artistic shots where she isn't even in it. The poses are excellent and she does end up nude. Of course, nothing shows, but it's very tasteful and I really liked the way they handled it. It also came with a wallet-sized photograph, which looks handsome. I wish every photobook was like this one to be honest.
Yuno Ohara's second bookIf you are familiar with Yuno's magazine releases, you aren't missing much. Although the majority of the book is new material, it all feels like stuff Yuno has done before save 2 sets. It also feels like it has a split identity. While they want to try to capitalize on Yuno's ridiculously good body, they also wanted to show off her cute side as well. She also plays through the book pretty safe as well, with only 2 set topless from the back laying down on thick cover. This is odd, since there are a lot of sexual poses.
Wachi Minami's first bookIn my opinion, Wachi Minami is the most underrated gravure idol. Anyways, this book is similar to Yuno's book in terms of safety. However, the producers know Wachi's main appeal is her excellent bust and they shot accordingly. There are plenty of great close up and body shots and even the inside cover is her bust. Unfortunately, the diversity of the sets is rather low and typical. Almost the entire book takes place in bathrooms, bedrooms, or the beach. There isn't much else to say about this to be honest.
Marina Nagasawa's third book (i think)
I was on the fence about buying this book since during my first exposures to her, I wasn't comfortable with how young she looks. I tried adding her twice to my power ranking pool but I couldn't even get through her work without feeling bad and stopping. However, I heard her more recent works looks more mature so I bought it on a whim. I'm glad I did. This book is unsurprisingly aggressively lewd, but she benefits completely from it. Her amazing body is showcased right from the start all the way to the end. There weren't very many shots where she looked too young and a ton of risky shots where you could swear you could see something if you stared hard enough. I am envious of the photographer since he obviously has seen her naked. The diversity of sets is pretty low. It looks like 90% of the book took place in 1 bathroom; but it worked out great and it was advertised as such.
Nagi Nemoto's "Spica"Since Nagi is my favorite girl, Spica is easily my favorite book. It's also the first real photobook I own. Like Yuka's Second book, this one came with a wallet-sized photo and it's from one of my favorite sets in the book. It's fairly risky compared to the other books I own. There were some nice close-up shots and when I was phone-scanning the book, I almost died because I could swear the added light highlighted her nipples in one particular shot. In terms of set diversity, it's definitely the second most diverse after the Rena Takeda book. It's shot in several different locations and she has many outfits. Even if she wasn't my favorite girl, I would still rank this book first.
NemoperoBefore I got this book, they released a music video to promote the new duo. Unfortunately, it set my expectations for the book. Even more so, none of the sets displayed in the music video were even in the book. Half of the book was set in a room with nothing in it but a slightly dirty white wall. The book the second safest of my collection as well. However, it features Nagi so I can't be too upset. Both Nagi and Rin look very cute and sexy in this book. I was surprised how erotic I found Rin to be here too. I just found her cute before, and now she is climbing my into my top tier. There was also some light yuri play as well, which I really appreciated. This pairing is far greater than I expected. In a sense, this book exceeded my expectations but was also disappointing as well.
Rena Takeda's second bookSimilar to Yuka Ogura's second book, this was a unique take to photobooks. Rena is really cute and the producers know this. As a result, this is the safest book of my collection, but it really captures the essence of her cuteness. Don't get me wrong, there are bikini/underwear sets as well as body shots, but the body shots feel out of place considering the overall tone of the book. The sets were also the most diverse in my collection. This book was shot in Miami and New York and featured a ton of different locations and backdrops. The last section of the book was various cute cosplays and interview. A very refreshing book overall.
Nemu Yumemi's Peppermint minibookAbout half the pages as a normal sized book, I knew what to expect going into this. However, it actually exceeded my expectations. It was lewder than I thought it would be, which surprised me a lot because of my perception of Nemu as an accomplished woman and gravure would beneath her. Anyways, a few pics of this book were her last (as far as I know) magazine release. The entire coloration of the book and overall theme is her peppermint green; which is cool since it was her color on dempagumi. Despite this, it features fairly diverse sets as well. From a couple of lewd sets to Nemu enjoying life and eating food. What's also cool in the inside of the outside cover is actually a secret lewd. However, it is still a minibook, so the limits are spelled out.
Yuka Ogura's first bookThis book is diverse enough and risky enough, but it isn't anything really special to it. It's a good book, but nothing really stands out from it compared to the other books I own. It definitely doesn't help than her second book is my second favorite of the collection either.
All that being said, there isn't a single book I regret purchasing or don't like. I highly recommend all of these book; especially if you are a big fan of any of these girls. Purchasing gives you pictures that haven't been leaked yet and encourages them to do more gravure work. I eventually want to destroy all these books eventually to get reputable scans of them since phone-scanning isn't great but the idea of collecting these books has grown too much on me. But I feel like in 100 years, these books will decay to dust and nobody will remember these beauties. If I destroy these books, their beauty will be forever archived on the internet for generations to come. I'm torn, but one day I know I'll finally do what's right. Also, I am working on phone-scanning the Peppermint book but it's going to take me quite a long time since I've been exhausted from work. It benefits from being a smaller book so it's easier to bend the spine to get straighter shots. It's also cheap so even if it does break, it won't hurt me a lot of get another one.
