A thread for all you NASA fans and Star Gazers!!

Hey Geeks!! Get your telescopes out :ondick: and check out the annual Perseids meteor shower is lighting up the skies, but you either have to go to bed late or get up early to see the best of it.

I just heard the shuttle coming back! (It makes a distinctive loud double sonic boom that shakes LA when it lands in california.)

This series must be seen by everyone on the planet.

Oh absolutely. According to the Science Channel, over 600 million people have watched it, but that's about 6 billion too few.

...

And now for something completely awesome.

Carl Sagan - 'A Glorious Dawn' ft Stephen Hawking (Cosmos Remixed)

Brilliant.

<3 Science
<3 Astronomy
<3 Sagan

I love the house I moved into recently.  It's far enough away from the city that you can actually see all the stars at night, which is impressive for how humid it is here in Florida as well.

Symphony of Science - 'We Are All Connected' (ft. Sagan, Feynman, deGrasse Tyson & Bill Nye)

Not as good as the first one, but fun nonetheless.  :D

'A Universe From Nothing' by Lawrence Krauss, AAI 2009

Here's a brilliant talk on the state, origins and fate of the universe by Lawrence Krauss. Great speaker.

It's an hour long, but well worth every second.  :D
