AKB48 will hold a Q&A session, autographing, and short concert at the Jacob Javits Center on Saturday, September 26, and the musical group will then present a free concert at NYC's Webster Hall on Sunday, September 27th.

It's a pretty kick ass team they're sending, I don't think you'll be disappointed! Even if you don't know most of them, that doesn't really matter.

I got a message from a certain someone inside AKB48. Not a member, but a leading manager *cough*
He asked me if I knew how many people would be going.
Is there an official or unofficial headcount for the members on Stage48 going?
He's pretty interested in knowing, so I hope I can give him a number or a rough estimate....

So BEG are performing on Sunday which will probably prevent me from seeing AKB. It sucks because I already have confirmation to get into the AKB concert. But I'm still hoping that BEG perform really early or really late so I see both of them. But that's really unlikely.
Too much good shit going down on Sunday. Ping, if you're free afterwards let me know, maybe we could meet up. If not, have a good time!

Before yesterday, I only knew Sayaka and Atsuko, but after doing some intense studying yesterday morning in line for the autograph ticket, I learned the ages, nicknames, and birthdays of the girls who came to NY, XD Some of the less popular ones look really similar though so it was pretty hard to learn who was who, but yea, they gave me a lot of happiness these past couple of days, so I'm a fan now :D
Compared to seeing Morning Musume. in AX, I have this to say:
MM Autographing >>>>> AKB48 Autographing
AKB48 Show >>>>> MM Show
As for actually seeing the girls in real life, meeting MM was a totally different feeling from meeting AKB48. For MM it was like the impossible, once in a lifetime event, just happened. For AKB48, I know you can see them performing everyday in Akihabara, so I didn't get that same star power feeling, but it was still really so fun.
Anyway, I'll try to write up a report tomorrow~

This made it onto the news in Japan this morning, very briefly. They showed them performing and said quite a few people had showed up (don't remember the exact number, but the news seemed impressed).

Sayaka did most of the MC's and from the vid's I have seen its was perfectly understandable, I think she took some lessons :)
No idea about more vids on nihongogo, its been unreachable for half a day now??

Second'd. This can only be good. 8)
The fact that it's airing on Skyperfect means it'll probably be good in that it will just be the concert in its entirety unlike the Morning Musume special that chopped it up a bit, but it's also a caveat in that there may not be as many fan interaction clips. We'll see.

I was there too, it was a great concert. My first encounter with AKB48 at all, didn't know them until I watched the concert. My friend worked for the company that was sponsoring the concert and invited me and a friend to come, and I'm really glad she did. 8D

I got outta the place pretty quickly to avoid getting stuck in there waiting to get out, so I got the picture I wanted while there was plenty. If I had to guess, there prolly was about 5-10 photos for sale of each member that was there. They were $3.50 each, they were also selling CDs too, but since I was new to this group, I didn't know where to start with their CDs. xD;
And the person that was being lifted up was kinda hard not to notice. A couple of the girls on stage smirked at the guy's crazy stunt. :0

I was all the way in the front, like at the guard rail, so the only thing in front of me was AKB, wasn't really paying attention to what was behind or to my sides, lol
They only had the most recent 4 singles there, so you couldn't have gone wrong with any of them, they're all good songs, and they all are the CD+DVD, but it was more expensive after the show than at the con, lol
Glad to see you posting at JPHiP though, keep it up! lol
