The Other Side 1
She looked at the woman before walking off leaving Mayu confused.
“You must be mistaken.” She said before walking to the next aisle.
Mayu knew it had to be her and followed her to the corner before turning back.
My phone rang distracting my attention from her.
“Don’t forget to buy me cereal!” Jurina reminded me as I mental checked it off when I felt my hand being tugged.
I closed my phone seeing an item being placed on my head.
“Follow me.” She instructed me as she put the item away.
“What are you doing?” I asked as she took me to the back.
We stopped in front of a door before being pulled in.
She didn’t answer my question as she took her seat.

The Other Side 2
“Why did you take me away?”
“The simple reason is because you hung around and I don’t need people following me.”
She answered confidently as I became concerned in her doing until she handed me a card.
“What is this for?”
“I wanted to give it as a gift so you can stop bugging me.”
“I didn’t…”
I was thrown out before I could get my message out.
It was the woman from the restaurant and she knew I witnessed the murder.
I wondered what the cost was before going back into the store.
Grabbing all my stuff, I offered the card and a gentle nod was given before I went off.

The Other Side 3
I returned home to Jurina dropping off the groceries onto the table.
“The manager has let us go because of the restaurant needs to go through some renovations.”
I felt a little guilty but I handed the card to Jurina and she stared at it for a bit.
“The card seems to be working out for you.”
“It was the woman I saw…”
Jurina’s eyes widened as she heard about my run in with the shooter.
“How shall we take her down?” She said rubbing her hands.
“We won’t do it until I can find out who she is.” I explained.
Jurina turned back and looked in the bag to find her cereal.
I returned to my room and jumped onto the bed to consider what I should do.

The Other Side 4
Yuki POV
“Kashiwagi Yuki!’
I turned to find her with her usual suitcase over her shoulder giving me hug.
“Where… How did you get here?”
“You are seriously dumb not remembering the back door to the room.”
My memory reminded me that associates knew of the door as she took a seat.
“Miyazawa, what is your business here?”
“Are you going to get back at the person who killed our people?”
“We will eventually get to it.” I said with a half-smile while I looked at the cameras.
“Your father was angry that someone single-handedly took them down.”
“They were weak… I could beat them down with my hand tied behind their back.”
“Yukirin, please tell me what’s on your mind?”
“That woman came in today and I gave her a card so she can purchase items for free.”
“I never seen you like this for a while… Is it love?”
I pursed my lips and pointed her to the door before I answered that question. It came into my mind and didn’t want to wiggle out.
----
The Other Side 5
My life had been constant battle between my parents.
Two of the strongest Yakuza families coming together as a partnership.
Fights broke out constantly leading to a turf war.
My parents decidedly divorced after I was born.
I felt I was being punished by everyone until I finally got angry and killed a girl in middle school with a broken ruler.
High school was different.
I became head by default with little perks to work for me.
My first experience was the usual awkwardness and the feeling of losing it felt great. However, I grew concerned a few times with luck on my side.
I graduated with little fame and took over the store with my side job being a hit man for both sides of the family.
Love was never a word I would use and now I needed to hide.
----
The Other Side 6
She appeared again a few days later with another female.
My heart sank a little that she didn’t come alone.
Then, I heard a knock at the door.
“Yuki? Are you free?”
“Matsui, please come in.”
Matsui Rena was the manager of the store watching over three hundred employees.
“Kashiwagi-san, are we having our monthly meeting?”
“Not today, but I do have a request…”
“What is it?”
“Help out those two in the dairy area.”
“Sure. Thank you again.”
Few minutes passed by as she got into the camera shot and saw them being helped by her.
Rena was such help although I found many problems caused by her. Every day was a concern but the children loved her.
“There’s a call for you.”
----
The Other Side 7
“Yukirin, how are you doing darling?”
“Daddy! I’m doing fine. How’s Michiko?”
“She’s fine. I have a job for you.”
“Sure.”
“Yamada Hideki. Do your job.”
“Understood.”
There were few things I needed to do and I know money wasn’t my motivation, it was just respect.
My drawer was filled with guns lined up in a row and I placed it in a handbag before leaving out the backdoor.
I stepped into a cab placing my destination at Rainbow Café.
I rode past the two as I got there in fifteen minutes.
There was a crowd so I stayed outside until I saw my target.
Biding my time with coffee, I held the gun in the handbag through the hole and pulled the trigger.
The man fell quick as I finished my coffee and walked off to the alley to a cab waiting on the other side.
