My Sayaka story:I'd have to go all the way back then.
I knew about Morning Musume pretty early from a fake VCD with a recording of CDTV that had First Time on the CD introducing corner.
When my sister had a trip to Japan, I of course made her buy me some singles.
What she got me were Speed's Winter Love and MM's Daite Hold On Me. I guess Sayaka just looked cute in the front and back cover, and left an impression.
Both singles were great and may have been one of the biggest turning points of the two groups. For MM, of course it was their first No.1 Oricon.
It also got them a ticket to Kohaku. And it was this performance that made it solid my favourite was Sayaka.
Oh, and having a classmate that looked 90% like her didn't help.
Favourite Sayaka/Cubic-Cross song: Daite Hold On Me, of course
Favourite Sayaka/Cubic-Cross PV: all, actually
Favourite Sayaka/Cubic-Cross album: First Time
A memorable performance: Kohaku 1998
A picture that I like: I really like her goofy/happy character. This pic sums it up!
A video that I like: The first of a string of great "weird Moring Musume songs". It even makes me happy when watching it now.
Other comments:Great talent and so cute. I really hoped she'd lead Morning Musume one day.
It's kinda sad we didn't see the full potential she could've brought to the table. I'm pretty sure she'd have been a great asset.
