Ryu - SFII
Link - Zelda
Balthier - FFXII (the leading man...)
Sephiroth - FF VII (coolest villian ever, and the best boss music ever as well)
Cloud, Aeris - FFVII
Terra, Locke, Kefka - FFVI
Crono, Magus - Chrono Trigger (Magus is also very cool.... right behing sephiroth)
Kyo, K', Terry Bogard, Rock Howard, Iori - King of Fighters (cool, cool, cool, cool!)
Snake - Metal Gear (Raven sucked.. big time! Snake's the real thing)
Belmont family (simon, trevor, etc), Alucard - Castlevania (vampire ass-kicking!)

So many great characters... I have many other favs....

heh I don't really know all the stories and stuff like that, but these are just characters I like to play or think are cool.

Kim Kaphwan (Fatal Fury, KoF series) - I just have fun playing as him
I-no (Guilty Gear series) - I can't play as her, but I love watching great players use her. It looks like she's got so much style.
Bridget (Guilty Gear) - The first character I ever tried to learn in GG. I suck as him now since I haven't played him in over two years. He's another character I really like to watch good players use. Roger Get makes me laugh.
BB Hood (Vampire Savior) - Little Red Riding Hood with bombs and rapping.
Chun Li (Street Fighter series) - As much as I've tried to learn other characters in SF, I still feel the most comfortable with her.

I never understood what was supposed to be so cool about Sephiroth or Cloud or any of the other Final Fantasy characters.

Ive always been a fan of the cast of final fantasy vi. Locke, setzer, cyan, sabin, edgar...all of em they all rock.

I have lots of game characters that I love but I guess if I had to pick one to be my favourite of all time then it would come down to Manuel Calavera from one of my favourite games of all time, Grim Fandango. All the other characters from that game are also brilliant and if you've never played it then I'm afraid you suck.

Resident Evil: Jill, Rebbeca, Ada
Final Fantasy: Tifa, Cloud, Vincent, Riku, Yuna, Paine, Lulu, Fran, Yuffie
Devil May Cry: Dante
Chrono Trigger: The Whole Cast
