I was fearing that the horns would make a reappearance because they were incredibly annoying during the Africa Cup of Nations. Like Stryfe says, it's like listening to it with a beehive around your head. It's not quite so bad in the France v Uruguay match, probably cause the fans are from overseas. I'd expect to hear them to be a lot more prevalent any time an African team is involved. What is it about those horns anyway? Does anyone know why they are they so prevalent in matches with African teams?

Wouldn't expect to hear much of it during England matches though, instead you have to listen to 'The Great Escape' or 'God Save The Queen' ad infinitum. Fucking does my head in.

The horns are just some traditional thing fans take to games in South Africa, apparently, I guess elsewhere in Africa too. :bleed eyes:

France, son, you should have played better.

I blame the ball, the altitude, the referees, the injuries, those damn horns, the crime rate, the terrorists that shot up the togo team bus, fan stampedes and non-full capacity attendances for the poor opening matches... It's never the players' fault.

FIFA should just laugh off this blip and reboot the opening day. "Haha, gotcha! We assure you that the WC is a showcase of top quality football"

Well done to France, you certainly look like a great addition to the WC with your 6 man defence line up and taking off one of your more prolific goal scorers for another one with 10 mins to go and against 10 men. Though to be fair there were times were Uruguay did the same, it was both teams erring on the side of caution. Expect a lot of group games to end up as draws. Complaining about the handball decision was hilarious. What a legend that man is.

Well I'm gonna make a prediction and say Greece aren't gonna qualify  Assuming Argentina win all their games, it makes the Nigeria v South Korea game quite interesting. If Argentina slip up along the way, it makes the group all the more interesting.

And I saw cute fangirls too!

Argentina - Nigeria at half now. Doesn't seem like Nigeria has much of a chance at this point :O2

Nigerian GK must have seen lots and lots of Messi goals and done his homework... for now.

Korea should had been more cut throat against a bad, bad and poor, poor Greece team. Still waiting for a on-form striker from any country!

waking up and seeing Argentina heading it into the goal was great for me :)

also the comradierie(?) that they show wanting to help Nigerian players up when they're on the ground shows a lot to me

it's easier to be fairplay when you're leading the match :3

seems Argentina didn't really show 100% of their talent
a bit deceived by Nigeria, it was like they were ok with this score -_-

Argentina looked sloppy in the 2nd half, Nigeria should have at least got a goal. And who would have though the man of the match would be the Nigerian keeper XD

Who else thought that the person shining a laser onto the players was from one of the Nigerian criminal gangs? :P

Argentina will never reach full their potential with Maradona on the bench...S.Korea played a better game imo

Man that goalie played very good, i bet his manager is very happy XD

FUMBLE!!!

Green fumbles the ball in the back of the net...only reason why the US is 1-1 with England right now..and England scored in the first 5 minutes
