PUFFY!

Honestly I don't like the cartoon for kiddies Puffy AmiYumi, though they can benefit from it being known world wide. Maybe they can re-format the cartoon and make it similar to "Daria".   

I like their songs especially Dareka ga and My Story. I saw a video of them at YouTube and they were great doing live performances.

Puffy was my first J-Pop love. I first got into them after randomly buying one of their discs 7 or 8 years ago, and afterward I built up a pretty sizable collection.

However, my enthusiasm for them has waned in recent years with their last couple of records (especially Bring it!, which I thought was pretty weak). I think it's actually kind of funny how Puffy's American fan base seemed to all lose interest simultaneously; it used to be a decent-sized fandom, but nowadays it's pretty quiet -- though that could be because Ami and Yumi have stopped trying to crack the American market.

And yeah, they definitely rock in concert. I saw them during the Splurge! Splurge! Splurge! tour in 2006, and it was great. Too bad the entire venue was mostly filled with children and their parents.

What a nice name for a tour -  Splurge! Splurge! Splurge! - nice sound effects, really creative there. 
It's a good sign, when those kids grow up they can be Puffy hardcore fans.

Well, they did play in France last year, so I guess there's hope that they'd come back to the U.S. if someone would want them.

Eh, I'm pretty sure most of the kids were there because of the Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi cartoon (it was still on the air back then), so I don't know if any of them grew up to be hardcore fans.

Puffy sings for, appears in space comedy movie

Puffy has two new songs with tie-ins. The first, titled "Fish On," is being used as the theme song for the movie "Uchuu de Ichiban Wagamama na Hoshi," directed by TV Asahi producer Hiroaki Ito.

"Uchuu de Ichiban Wagamama na Hoshi" is a comedy about five men who get the opportunity to achieve their dream of traveling to outer space. Produced in collaboration with Yoshimoto Kogyo, the movie stars Koji Ookura, Kitaro, Gori, Michael Tomioka, and Kazuma Sano. In addition to singing the theme song, the two members of Puffy appear on screen in minor roles. Other minor cast members include Rika Ishikawa and several popular comedians.

"Uchuu de Ichiban Wagamama na Hoshi" is being screened twice at the Okinawa International Movie Festival, which started on March 20 and runs until March 28.

Puffy's other new song, "Jet Love," is being used as the theme song on NTV's afternoon variety show "DON!," the successor to "Omoikkiri DON!" The revamped show starts airing on March 29.

Since 2008, the New York Anime Festival along with our friends at Superglorious, have presented the Far East To East Showcase FETES -- a night of music that brings together musical artists from both America and Japan, focusing on the borderlessness of song, and creating an evening appealing to anime fans, audiophiles, and casual New Yorkers interested in something new. Superglorious and NYAF are today proud to reveal this year's FETES will be taking place on Sunday, October 10 in the historic Irving Plaza (East 15th Street, New York, NY) for the first time, and we'll be presenting a roster of performers fully befitting the hallowed concert hall.

PUFFY's Yoshimura Yumi divorces for the 2nd time

PUFFY's Yoshimura Yumi has announced her divorce through their fan club site.

Yoshimura ended her marriage with Nishikawa Takanori (T.M.Revolution) in 2002. She then married a non-celebrity man on December 31, 2009 and welcomed their first child in August of 2012.

Through the recent post on the fan club site, she commented, "From now on, I will devote myself more and more. I will do my best with work. I will give a lot of love to my son. I will make a lot of effort to live each day happily,"
