This vid hasn't gone down well in the Polysics fandom at all. The English language version of this song totally lacks the energy of the original and the vid is just lazy really. It's like a compromise for the western audience really. Boo to myspace records! (I assume it was all their idea anyway, or they told Hiro it was a good idea)

Here are some pics, http://www.flickr.com/photos/youngelectricpop/sets/72157608171563587/detail/
Not much since my phone died during the show.

Set list looked something like,

Buggie Technica
Tei! Tei! Tei!
Peach Pie
Pony to Lion
DNA Junction
kikai taberu chaimashita
I My Me Mine
My Sharona
Pretty Good
Rocket
Ceolakanth
Moog is Love
Kaja Kaja Goo
Baby BIAS
- en
Electric Surfin Go Go
Boys & Girls

Not the exact order and probably some missing, but that's the general idea of the songs they'll play on the tour.

I went to the show tonight! I got a picture on my cell of the setlist and lots of pictures of the stage and them setting up (was too busy dancing like a crazy during the concert in order to stop and take pics), I'll put them up tomorrow as well as a summary as well as lots of funny stories, as I wore my Morning Musume t-shirt to the concert. Not only did the band members recognize it but most of them put their favorite MM member along with their signatures on a shirt I bought and asked them to sign!!! Awesome! More tomorrow as well as shots of the shirt and their favorite members. Guess whose Hayashi's is? Hint: it matches him perfectly. <3

 that's too awesome.

I'm convinced all awesome Japanese musicians love j-idol groups!

I think Hiro likes to write/draw random stuff on the stuff he signs. He drew a puma on my nikes. :P
I have no idea who would match him though...

I forgot all about last week's show, was busy at my uncles house. I might try to catch the glass house one.

And holy fuck they're on tour with Jaguar Love? I had no idea. The band the members used to be in, Blood Brothers, was one of my favorite bands in high school.

I noticed they had Bloc Party on their top friends list. They need to tour the US with them!

The set list looks pretty much exactly the same as the UK gig. They played Digital Coffee here too, not sure if you missed that off the list.

I remember talking to the merch woman about Morning Musume the first time I saw Polysics and she kind of looked at me funny and didn't want to talk to me anymore :D haha.
I wish I'd have had more time to chat with them this time cos I would have asked Yano about meeting Yossi, and asked Fumi about knowing the Love Revolution dance

^Eh, I doubt they know too much about them. All of them put members that had graduated. Yano couldn't think of anyone (he talked to me in Japanese a little bit but I couldn't catch very much) so he put Tsunku XD with the little "male" sign and all. As I was walking away I saw him talking to the other members and he was like "AUGH, KAGO-CHAN!" like he just remembered her. It was pretty hilarious. I'll post pics of the shirt (also because I can't decipher who Fumi wrote on there). Hayashi wrote Yaguchi <3

@StreakInTheSky, yeah, he does, they all drew something. Jaguar Love was pretty good, but I think I was too close. The singer got sweaty and I was standing very close (Polysics was on after them) so it was like a constant rain of spit and sweat and I finally had to move. When I came back for Polysics my spot had been taken but I got one that was almost as good. Black Gold was OK but I couldn't hear the singer too well. It was more my type of music than Jaguar Love, especially because it didn't have any screaming in it (while Jaguar Love did...).

Yeah the vocal style of the vocalist is an acquired taste. I still prefer their older more dance punk-ish stuff though, which had a lot more screaming. :P And I just realized one of the guys in the band is from Pretty Girls Make Graves, one of the first indie bands I started listening to. And getting sweat and spit from the bands and people around you is part of the experience of a live show. :P

Black Gold is alright but nothing really special from what I heard from them.

I think I'm really gonna try to make it to their last show of the tour now, if nothing big from school comes up that week anyways. Wonder how well the tickets are selling.

Haha that's fuckin' great. I didn't get to talk to them after the show at LA. tenkei and I left after we recuperated for a few minutes after the show. We saw Yano as we were driving out through the back, but he looked like he was really busy dismantling his kit.

I quite liked Black Gold's sound. Gonna try to get my hands on their album, or something. The drummer has an awesome mustache. I'm gonna try to grow one like his.

Dude sits if you go to the Pomona show I'll be there for sure. Seems like the tickets aren't selling too fast. There weren't that many people at the LA show. The line of people to buy/willcall was actually longer than the line of people who already had tickets. But then again that was the first show.

Well I can't make it, I'm swamped with projects and papers (why is everything huge due around the same time -____- ) and I can't give myself more reason to procrastinate.

Here's some (not so great) pictures.
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/youngelectricpop/sets/72157609151301900/"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3024/3032962243_c97322b3a9_m.jpg" /></a>

Its mostly the fault of my bad positioning and shitty lighting. horay.

And some video of the encore.

The sound sucks ass, but hey, I took it with my phone.

^Ah, so lucky! I really wanted them to play New Wave Jacket but they didn't at the Dallas show. I still had a blast, though.

double post cus i can. here's my shitty pics, and a shitty video with horrible sound of hiro doing his rocket 'dance' (which turns on its side...). no pics of kayo or yano cus we were all the way to the left and couldnt get good pics of kayo, esp cus there was a light shining right into the camera if you tried. and yano was just way in the fucking back, couldnt be seen lol.

The only video I have seen from them is where they sing "Everybody Go Go!" And a cute girl is showing some cool "robot dance".
Are all of their song's similar, since I did like that one?   :muffin:
