Like everyone else I was shocked to hear about this when I got home. He was a great actor with a promising career ahead of him. Not to mention I was really excited to see his take on Mister J in the Dark Knight. R.I.P. Heath, you'll be missed

This was definitely a shocker. I definitely received the news via text message today and I honestly didn't believe it at first. This is really upsetting as he was definitely one of my favorite actors. My prayers go out to his family and friends.

Sadly I am unsurprised by the massively insensitive headlines of Heath's death, for example, 'The heartbroken drugged-up world of Heath Ledger', 'Tragic Heath's secret coke hell', 'The daughter left behind by tragic star Heath Ledger', complete with paparazzi shots of Heath's two year old daughter. Well done lads, you've proved to be devoid of any sense of human decency.

Sometimes I keep thinking this news is all just part of a bad, cracked-up dream. I was never the biggest Heath fan, but I acknowledged he was a really great actor and he's definitely one of my favorites out there, this is such a tragedy... He's just one of those guys you'd never expect to go so soon, why couldn't it be one of those arrogant, stupid celebrities who take advantage of everything?

RIP Heath. You'll definitely be missed and Hollywood will never forget one of the brightest stars they've lost.

That is positively horrendous. It doesn't matter if you dislike a person or a project they worked on (possibly, I dunno... Brokeback Mountain), a person should learn how to have a certain level of respect ESPECIALLY if you're being broadcast in front of a lot of people. That is absolutely ridiculous and shows that he lacks any amount of decency.

i felt really bad that my initial reaction to finding out about his death was "wait...will the dark knight still release?" its sad that he's gone. based on the preview alone, his joker looks crazy (good).

Heath Ledger's insurance company is being sued for refusing to pay out $US10 million in benefits to his daughter Matilda Rose.

The 28-year-old Australian star of Brokeback Mountain and The Dark Knight was found dead in his New York apartment in January in what officials ruled was an accidental death from an overdose of painkillers and other medicines.

But lawyers for the ReliaStar insurance company, where Ledger took out a life insurance policy in 2007, have claimed his death was suspicious and possibly a suicide.

That would nullify the policy, according to court papers posted on celebrity website TMZ.com.
