Well, I really really love the Taiwanese F.I.R. and now I wonder... Can anyone recommend me some more music from Taiwan/HK/China?? Like "If you like F.I.R. you are likely to like ____." What I like about F.I.R. is that they mix traditional influences with modern rock/pop. I also like the big ballads and their more agressive songs. But most importantly... I'd like some good modern music with Chinese traditional influences (genre is not that important), if that makes sense. lol

Oh and female vocals :3

Any ideas??

Mando Pop, Taiwan, is geared to the R&B - not as MC driven as KPop but lots a funky beats. Then there's Taiwan supastar (cross over'd to film) - Jay Chou - new joint dropped, the ladies shall like. Fen where u at!

LOL! Fen doesn't really check the Chinese music thread all that often, since I really only follow Jay. XD But yes, I got his Capricorn album just recently from Mom, who came back from Taiwan. It's very nice! Came with a pack of playing cards too! XD

The real playlist of Capricorn (grabbed from Wiki):
   1. 龍戰騎士 Dragon Knight (Lóng Zhàn Qí Shì) 4:28
   2. 給我一首歌的時間 Give Me A Song's Time (Gěi Wǒ Yì Shǒu Gē De Shí Jiān) 4:11
   3. 蛇舞 Snake Dance (Shé Wŭ) 2:52
   4. 花海 Ocean Of Flowers (Huā Hăi) 4:22
   5. 魔術先生 Mr. Magic (Mó Shù Xiān Sheng) 3:45
   6. 說好的幸福呢 Where Is The Promised Happiness (Shuō Hăo De Xìng Fú Ne) 4:14
   7. 蘭亭序 Orchid Pavilion (Lán Tíng Xù) 4:12
   8. 流浪詩人 Wandering Poet (Líu Làng Shī Rén) 2:47
   9. 時光機 Time Machine (Shí Guāng Jī) 5:09
  10. 喬克叔叔 Uncle Joker (Qiáo Kè Shū Shū) 4:14
  11. 稻香 Rice Aroma (Dào Xiāng) 3:43

Shi:
I would suggest Jay since he uses traditional Chinese instruments in his music, but you want female vocals.  ;) After I get off work, I'll check my hdd to see if there's anything you might like.

^ Daigong posted that hoping to catch Fen's attention!! So...who is Jay in your mind? Ace of Hearts or The Joker! Me make Punny Joke!

HEY! Shirenu if u like female vocals, with that oh-so-necessary "easy on the eyes" factor - try some of my favorite Canto Pop stars. Candy Lo Hoi Yen Here's BREAKTHROUGH hit "Hou Sam Fan Sau" (好心分手; Break-Up With Good Intentions):

or Denise Ho Wincy 何韻詩 aka HOCC. She's a protege of Legend Anita Mui Yeen Fong. Try 光榮之家 (Family of Honor)

They UNGGH write their own lyrics. with a hint of lesbianism unggh. VERY HOT.  :jerk:

Those are from 2001-ish cuz I haven't been keeping up. Thanks to sh15uya ...I just might change that!! :sweatdrop:

After digging Icecream Musume's songs so much, I'd thought I'd check out this part of the forum.

Instead of downloading everything that's been posted and wasting everybody's download speeds.. can someone recommend me some artists I might like? Artists like Ai Otsuka, Aya Ueto, Aya Hirano etc.. a bit rock oriented with female vocals? Cantonese or Mandarin artists are both ok.

requesting mp3s of Fahrenheit discography, minus the 3 taiwanese albums.  It's for my sisters.

I don't 'think i seen this anywhere yet.  Probably my favorite Chinese R&B singer

David Tao - Opus 69
Release Date - Aug 28

After his “123 We Are All Wooden Men” world tour, Taiwan’s “Music Godfather” David Tao comes back with his new album in three years titled “Opus 69”. The number in the title references a number of things, among which is that it’s the singer-songwriter’s 6th album and 9th CD. Besides, David was born in the summer of ‘69, and the symbol of his zodiac sign, Cancer, resembles “69″. Moreover, in the ancient text of I-Ching, 6 and 9 symbolize “change” and “rebirth”, and the numbers when pronounced in Japanese are similar to “rock”, which is what this highly anticipated album is about! David puts aside his famous R&B style to return to his musical roots in rock music for this band sound-oriented album, which comes with new songs like “Your Song”, “Zero to Hero”, “Adoration”, and “RE.DT”.

Track List:
01. 願主憐憫 (May God Have Pity)
02. 亂七∞糟 (Messy)
03. 暗戀 (Secret Love)
04. Play
05. 火鳥功 (Firebird Gong)
06. 雪豹 (Snow Leopard)
07. 關于陶喆 (About David Tao)
08. 我太傻 (I’m Too Stupid)
09. 請繼續,任性 (Please Continue, Willfulness)
10. 中國姑娘 (Chinese Girl)
11. 誰的奧斯卡? (Whose Oscar Is This?)
12. 應徵愛 (Adoration)
13. 你的歌 (Your Song)
14. 桂冠英雄 (Zero To Hero)
