What did you guys think of the show as a whole??

I thought Hugh Jackman was BRILLIANT. Before the show I just thought of him as some kind of an action movie actor (because of X-Men), but he really surprised me in a good way. Really talented! I'll definitely pay more attention to him from now on.

The way that the acting nominees were presented was ridiculous imo. Took too much time and they were just milking for tears. It was really awkward and I think you could see with some of the nominees that they weren't comfortable with it, either (the camera zooming to their face when a fellow actor is praising them, eek). It was just awkward to watch!

I thought the seating area around the stage stage felt really small and almost claustrophobic, but I got more used to it as the show went on. Still, not sure I would've liked to be there, seemed like there wasn't much personal space, lol.

Amy Adams, Meryl Streep & Anne Hathaway in the front row appreciation!!! Love these bitchez. Also, Anne was AMAZING in the opening!!

I like it that this time.. I don't think they stopped any speech with music. It seemed less rushed and "friendlier" as a result. But I didn't like how they played music over some of the speeches, it was FUCKING DISTRACTING *cough* :D

Loved the Japanese winners going sankyuu and the one who went doomo arigatoo Mr. Roboto or sth

Loved random appearances by people like Tina Fey.

The Rogen & Franco clip was hilarious! When they were laughing at the more serious movies, omg I cracked up as well.

Loved every time that Dev Patel was on camera  He was so excited and cute, and when Slumdog Millionaire won the Best Movie award I could see him in the background with an expression of disbelief on his face, oh bless him. From Anwar in Skins to starring in an Oscar winning movie, must be pretty mind-blowing!! I hope he stays as precious as he is now and won't let the fame ruin him.

SO as a whole, there were some things that annoyed me, but overall I enjoyed the show :D

I was really pleased with the winners this year, "Slumdog" definitely deserved all the awards it got. And I cheered out loud when Heath won as best supporting actor!
