Black Moonlight Chapter 25 (10/28)

An Old Story I had a while ago but many haven't seen it before so here it is.

Chapter 1

It is hard to admit you are wrong.

I have to move on from this nest.

“Mom, Dad, I am leaving for the city.” I hear them saying,

Don’t Go

“But, I have to go; it’s my only chance to survive.”

I grab my bags and leave my hometown.

I travel to the airport and fly to Tokyo for the start of my new life.

I have been hired as an office worker for a big company.

The company is based in Japan and has firm roots in the business world.

“Gaki, we need you in the coffee room.” My co-worker, Takahashi, calls me.

I stood up and walked there in my usual slow pace.

“I barely got here and they want me to do stuff.” I start to murmur to myself.

I got into the doorway and they all yelled surprise and I fell backwards.

Then, this guy picks me up and he had a gentle face.

“Sorry, we should have told you as a worker for the first day, you get a party.” The guy says to me.

“Honto?” I was happy to be part of the company and noticed the guy again.

I started to think about him and he came up to me with some cake.

He stood about five seven and was in good shape for a guy.

Everybody is introduced and he said his name, and noticed that he was the lone single male in the company.

I felt the relief that he might be the one.

I walk up to him but Takahashi gets there before me.

I just stood alone with my cake and start eating it with tears my eyes.

No one knew the pain I had; I am a shy person and cannot take competition well.

Then, an intern came in and asked if people needed drinks.

Many asked for coffee and turns to me.

“You must be the new worker, hi my name is Hiroyuki, but everyone calls me Yuki.” He shakes my hand.

He was wider and dorkier but seemed friendly.

“Do you want something?” I told him water would be fine and he went out.

Ogawa nudges me and tells me to ask him out.

I did not feel like it and tried to avoid him when he got back.

Then, I saw Ogawa by him and I wanted to punch her for telling him, I might be interested.

He walks and scratches his head.

Then, “Would you like to hang out sometime?” came out and I was hesitant to tell him yes.

I wanted the other guy but he seems to work out fine for now.

He told me that he‘d pick me up at 7:30 p.m.

Therefore, I thought about the other guy on my way home and ran into a pole.

My nose started to bleed and went over my work clothes.

“Eww, this is not good and I have that outing with Yuki, this is not good.”

I ran home with napkins up my nose and just leaned back to prevent any more damage to my clothes.

I started to get drowsy from the lack of blood and closed my eyes for a bit.

I started to wonder what are his talents and all about him though.

He seemed to be dorky but his appearance could be deceiving.

Everybody said before I left that he can speak Japanese but not that well.

Gaki/man? With appearances by Takahashi and Ogawa!

Gaki and a man huh? This is so wrong (at least in the world of JPH!P ) Calling Takahashi to save the day?

Oh hi Mako-chan . We seldom see Ogawa nowadays. Nice of you to put Ogawa in your fics

Yes Gaki/man the one thing about it is the man plays an important part in the story as we add more characters around (yes more characters to come up) also a development of Risa as a character

Ogawa as a character sadly doesn't develop and Takahashi is going to be an interesting character

Chapter 2

Then, I shot up and noticed it 7:45

“Oh shit, I hope he is still waiting outside.” I run out the door and see him waving down below.

I run down and see him smiling.

“Oh you haven’t changed yet, I can wait.” I was too embarrassed to say I hit nose on the pole and just knocked out.

“No, you have waited long enough, where are we going?”

“We are going to my place; I don’t have a lot of money and lack any connections around here.” He was looking at the sky with his smile.

I liked his smile, it was contagious, when he smiled, and I smiled.

He walked about a block away from my apartment and went to his apartment.

“Is this a date?” I asked and he said, “No, I just wanted some company.”

I walked in, and noticed that it was rather clean for a bachelor.

“I hope it isn’t too messy for you.” I just shook my head and told him about my place right now.

“Where did you live before you came here?” He gave me a beer.

“I came from Kanagawa and you.”

“I come from Hawaii.” He pops open his beer and start to look outside.

“I miss Hawaii though and I get homesick sometimes.”

“Why did you leave Hawaii?” I started sipping the beer.

“I had an opportunity to work here for a better wage but that didn’t pan out and got this job for little money.” He starts to gulp it down, and then gave out a large burp.

“Sorry, I am just a little uncomfortable around girls.”

“Don’t worry, what do you do on your free time?”

“I like cooking.”

“What do you cook?” I take another sip of the beer.

“I cook a lot of stuff, like this.” He showed me a meat and veggie dish.

“That looks good.” I take another sip.

“I’ll cook you something.” He grabs another beer from the fridge and cooks a chicken breast.

He starts to create a dish he called a cheese-stuffed breast.

It sounded somewhat ironic but he told me to try it out.

I tasted it and it was good.

“Gaki, I like you but you have to be honest with me.” I started to see where he was going with this.

“Yuki, I don’t want to break your heart so, I want him instead of you, but I’ll take you for now.”

“I understand,” he sat back and started to look outside again

“Well, I do like hanging out with you, we should do it some other time, and I’ll see you at work.” I left and saw his expression.

It seemed cold of me to leave his apartment but he knew that we were not going to together.

I started walking and then I felt a sharp pain on the right side of my head, I fell onto the pavement.

^The guy mentioned in the first chapter is who she wants and she got attacked but later chapters will give clues to who it was

Chapter 3

I got up and noticed I was in an apartment, then a woman passed by me.

“Oh you have woken up, let me see that cut?” She was searching underneath the bandage.

“I have a cut, where is it? I need to see where it is.” I started to panic.

“Oh don’t worry about that, I have you all taken care of.” She smiled and noticed she looked cute.

I asked what her name was.

She answered, “My name is Kamei Eri and you?”

“Niigaki Risa.”

“That’s a nice name.”

“Thank you, Eri, and you have a nice name too.” I started to wonder where I should start on this conversation on why I am in here.

“Eri, what happened to me?”

“I saw you on the ground with a man over you, he was pretty big compared to you, and I came running to help you. He saw me and ran away with the weapon.”

I began to think why Yuki would do it to me after I just left his apartment.

“The thing was that, he looked like a sexual predator looking for a body and he ran off with nothing.” Eri got me a glass of water and began to feel my head hurting.

“Do you need a cold towel too?” I nodded and she got me towel and put it on head while I lied back on her couch.

I asked, “Do you have a husband?”

She replied, “No, I am single person living in Tokyo.”

I figured many are single but she looked like a housewife than a single female.

She asked, “Do you have anybody special?”

I answered, “No, not right now.”

“You know that us singles should stick together to find a man.”

I started to think about Yuki and last night.

I wanted to yell at him but I was interrupted by Kamei’s voice.

“I have made some sandwiches for you.” I took a bite and noticed the chicken and veggies mixed with mayonnaise.

“You like making these.” I point to the sandwich.

“Yeah, because it’s the only thing I can make.” She gave me a look and I felt something hurt her.

“Eri, sorry for hurting your feelings, I didn’t mean to offend you.”

“No, Gaki, my mother left when I was fourteen and my father had his way on me.”

I felt something sting, I did not know if it was the cut or the story.

“My father always wanted me to be the mother figure for my siblings but I eventually became the mother by rape.”

My body was taken aback by the revelation, “I am really sorry to hear this.”

“Gaki, don’t worry about me, I will be fine.” She was acting like a mother to me despite not knowing me at all.

I gave her a hug and told her, “One day I will return the favor with some food, so you can live on.”

She started to smile and nodded back to me.

After the conversation, I put the towel back on and started to think about what to do with Yuki.

If he was the one, I do not know what I do with him.

I hope he did not do it to me.

Hmm I wonder who attacked Risa and why Wonder also how Eri's character is going to develop from here So many questions lol. Will wait for the chap

@rndmnwierd Eri is sort of the abused woman scorned character
@badsaints it will come out asap and Eri's character will be more kept under wraps after Risa finds her attacker so she will develop very quickly and not be a factor in the whole story

Chapter 4

I was lying down on the couch and the phone rings.

Eri picks up the phone and it sounds like an emergency.

“Risa, I need to go out for a while, just rest and I’ll be back.” She still had the smile on her face, a cute smile, and it made me warm inside.

I lay back down and began to think again of my attacker.

Eri explained Yuki’s appearance very well, but I cannot see Yuki doing that to me.

She did not explain the guy’s mood or his clothing.

Maybe, it was not a guy at all but why would anybody hit me.

I started to get sleepy and closed my eyes.

Eri started to wake me up with some news.

“They arrested the guy, who you mentioned to me.”

“Really????” My heart sank; I could not identify him if he was my attacker.

“Well, I had a good look at him and point at that guy.”

“Well, if he did it, what would be his reason?” I did not want him to be put in jail; he was nice to me and gave me food.

“Well, he was over you and ready to pick you up before he ran away.”

“You don’t seem too sure it was him, but since it fit the description he was going to get questioned anyway.” It seemed that she knew something, but I did not want to ask her.

“Well, I just wanted to protect you from him.” She started to go closer and I pushed her away.

“You wanted me for this!” I got up and slammed her into the wall.

She started break down into tears, “No, that wasn’t it, I am lonely here and when I saw you I fell in love and you mentioned the guy, so I got jealous.”

I wanted to give her more of my fist but I decided to calm her down.

“Eri, I understand but I don’t know you enough to go through a relationship like this, I can be your friend instead, is that fine with you?” I gave her a hug and walked out the door.

She stood up and cried on my shoulder, “I hope you do find out who did this to you and I hope it is not him.”

I nodded and gave her a final hug before I left.

I walked to my apartment and found a note.

Dear Risa,

I heard about the accident, I hope you are okay, I ordered some flowers for you. After you left, I thought about what you said. I rather be friends than lovers, so I hope you get better.

I needed to go to the police station.

This chapter is sort of the turn for the how the story will go from here

Chapter 5

I ran to the police station and saw him coming out.

“Yuki, I am sorry for what happened.” He turned and looked at me.

He grabbed me and kissed me on the lips.

I felt his anger through the kiss.

I was afraid that he might hit me but he spoke up.

“It was not your fault; I got pinpointed by the witness and came to my house and put me under arrest for suspicion.” He hugged me and took a deep breath.

“There was another guy though who was in a sweatshirt and they caught him.”

“So, they got the guy who hit me with the object.” He nodded and walked away from the station.

“I feel bad for doing that to you.” I came running up and wanted to make it up with him.

“Risa, don’t worry about me, I am free for now and they cannot blame me for anything now.” He started to walk at a faster pace.

I wanted to say something else but my mouth would not move.

I decided to go back home and saw the flowers in front of the door; it looked withered but still good.

My head was dizzy from the walking and decided to lie on my couch.

I had my mind on Yuki, but he knew that it was not my fault but it still was.

I wanted to call him but I was tired and closed my eyes instead.

I spent the rest of the day sleeping and woke up in the late afternoon for the news.

The news had many events I missed when I was at Eri’s house.

She did not have a T.V. so I just would sit back and rest my head.

Right before I turned it off, I saw the guy’s face.

“It was the guy in my company, what is his name?”

Takeda Shingo

I felt sick.

Why would he do that?

Why would he attack me?

I was in shock and requested the week off to do some investigation.

Tomorrow, I will find something about the guy I have a crush on.

To answer your guys' question, yes the guy is after her and to the reason why because he likes office ladies, it will not explain that right away but it'll appear slowly

Chapter 6

Takeda Shingo was accused of murder of an office lady. He was later acquitted when they could not find enough evidence to convict him.

“Oh my god, I have a crush with a murderer.” I said to myself.

This feeling was not good, he was a murderer, and he was aiming for me.

I need to find Yuki.

I ran from the apartment to his and knocked on his door.

“Hello Yuki, I need to talk to you about something.”

“What is it, Risa?”

“Here.” I showed him a printed version of the article and he looked surprised.

“Mr. Takeda, a murderer?”

“Well I think so and he was going after me, what shall I do?” I was not in a position to get vulnerable again.

“Well we have to watch what you do around work and I will try to protect you for now.” I looked at him and he wanted to protect me after I reject to him.

“Are you sure Yuki?”

“Yeah, because I do not want you killed, right?” He started to smile and I went with his plan.

The weekend was dedicated to protect me at work from Takeda.

We went with a plan of him and me walk to work and travel back together.

We spent the weekend together at his apartment.

He gave me his sweatshirts, so I could sleep perfectly.

“Risa, you are really an interesting person.”

“Why do you say that, Yuki?”

“Well, you wanted to be friends but we ended living temporarily with each other.” We both started to laugh.

The thing was, was it going to be temporary or shall I move in to always be protected?

In addition, will it mean that the feelings I had for him will change?

I wish this would end soon before I make a mistake.

Chapter 7

The next morning I was in his room and he was still sleeping on the couch.

“Yuki, you need to get up, we have work today.” I start to wake him up.

“Risa, I know but I need my sleep, you know how hard it is to have a woman in the apartment.” He rolls back.

“What does that suppose to mean?” I put my hands on my hips and my face an inch from his.

He rolled over, “Risa, we are not in a relationship, we are never going to ever be that way, and you in this apartment is painful enough.”

“If you do not want to protect me, tell me so, other than that you decided on it remember?” I was not in the feeling of fighting.

Then, he grabbed me and gave me a deep kiss.

He stopped and got up to walk around.

“It is hard enough to have you here and I know you do not want to hear it from me.” I interrupted.

“I know you have feelings for me, but I can always give you a favor in return.”

“Risa, no, I won’t take you in that way, it will be against my own ideals.” He started to put head into his hands.

I never felt this bad for a person; he was doing everything not to make me his girlfriend.

He was suppressing his feelings and if he ever throws himself away, he will never forgive himself.

“Risa, I am sorry for getting angry, but you have to understand, it is not like we are a couple, we are roommates that have nothing between them.” He went to the bathroom and got himself ready.

He wanted to be with me for all this time and I told him no, I hope he is not guilty tripping me.

I knocked, “Do you really want to do it?”

He peeked out, “NO, I am trying to find a person out there who is for me.”

“If you find her, is she going to come here or her place?”

“How should I know? Where ever we want to go it is OUR business.” That made me mad.

I knocked and dove towards him.

“If we ever go out together, you will always be with me, right?”

“Yeah, but I will never ask you for a while, I really want to find a person for me now.” He pushed me out and closed the door.

He seemed serious, I could not offer him anything, he was trying to find a relationship in this process, and he is so confusing.

He got ready, picked up the newspaper and waited for me.

I got ready and he dropped his newspaper, then he grabbed my hand and we walked out the door.

We stood at the train station; I started to feel queasy but insisted we get to work on time.

We got to work and I felt a fever coming on.

The boss sent me home but I went to Yuki’s place for protection.

I took the train home and felt even worst.

I got off the train and dragged my way to his place.

I opened the door and dived onto the couch.

My eyes felt heavy so I decided to sleep.
