Chapter 1


Sae walked in the classroom, looking for Sayaka. He saw her over in her seat, fast asleep.

He walked over, when Yuko suddenly jumped in front of him.

"Y-Yuko, what is it?"

"Uh... I was wondering if you would like to hang out tonight. As friends!"

Sae looked over to Sayaka, then back at Yuko.

"I'll see what I can do, 'kay?"

He high-fived Yuko's hand and walked past her.

He slowly knelt down and kissed Sayaka's cheek, waking her up from her nap.

"Good morning, Sleeping Beauty."

"Morning, sunshine."

They kissed each other again and shared in their own little conversation.

Yuko walked over, tapping Sae's shoulder.

"Um... Sae... I'm not trying to steal you away from Sayaka, I just wanna hang out, y'know?"

Sae smiled and got up, patting her head.

"Okay. If you want, I guess I can."

While Sae suggested going to the park together or to the museum, Yuko said just getting a burger was perfectly fine.

Sayaka didn't mind him hanging out with Yuko, as long as nothing serious happened.


Sae's POV
That night, me and Yuko were walking together to a McDonald's.

"I'll go get our food."

Yuko rushed in while I sat down on the bench.

When she came out, she handed me a bag with two burgers and a few fries. As we ate, we talked about what had been happening for the past few months.

Yuko was telling me about a gorilla incident that happened between her and Sayaka at the zoo.

"And, I swear, the tree broke straight in half."

"Wait, haha, wait... So, what happened to the banana?"

"I DON'T KNOW!!!"

After I finished my burger, I happily licked my fingers and took a drink of my "tomato juice(It's really pig's blood, I just put a tomato juice label around the bottle.)"

I suddenly let out a loud yawn.

"You okay, Sae-kun?"

*YAWN* "Yeah... I'm just a little tired, I-" *YAWN*

I tried to get up and move around a bit, but I instantly fell down, Yuko helping me back up on the bench.

"Don't wo**y, **.... I go** *** Sae*** I'm always her* **Til the very end..."

My head started feeling heavy, and Yuko's voice became blurry.

Ugh...

Yuko... She can't be...

I fell down on the bench and drifted into a deep sleep.


When I opened my eyes, Yuko was gone and Sayaka took her place.

"You okay, Sae?"

"Yeah, I guess I just got sleepy. Where's Yuko?"

We looked around a little bit. But, she was no where to be found.

"She was gone when I got here. Who knows where she is now..."

She wrapped her arm around me, and I layed my head down on her shoulder.

I felt her clench her fist as we were holding hands.

"What's wrong?"

"We haven't really encountered any enemies in a while... Are we gonna be alright?"

I smiled and made her stand up.

"Look, it doesn't matter what's happening, okay? I'm always here to protect you."

Sayaka was holding my hand, swinging it a little.

"I can do the same for you."

We walked closer to kiss, sharing this one moment together. We both vowed to protect each other.

*BAM*

Huh?

"So much for getting him alone."

"Oh god... It... can't be true..."

The figure walked out from the shadows, holding her gun over her shoulder.

"Yuko?"

This was just what I was worried about.

Three more figures stepped out from the other three corners.

"Well, that was a total let down."

"Now what do we do?"

"Guess we should just take him on ourselves."

"Riku, Kai, Kuu? But... why?"

"Isn't it obvious, Sayaka?"

The four slowly closed in on us, readying their guns.

"We're hunters."

"That's right. And, we've come for you, Sae."

It was true. Yuko, Riku, Kai, and Kuu were all vampire hunters. And now, they've come to finish what had happened in the past.

Chapter 2


Sayaka's POV
"Guys... Why are you hunters? What's going on here?"

"Let me explain. 500 years ago, our ancestors were assigned to kill Sae to save you. Heck, they even sent hunters to find you. You always rampaged through town at night attacking people."

"But, that was only because she couldn't control her black magic." Sae spread his arms out to protect me. "Remember, I was able to release her from the curse."

"It doesn't change the fact that you're a blood-sucking monster."

Sae, this can't be true. I can handle this myself, they're my friends.

"No. I'll protect you, remember."

Kuu readied his gun with silver bullets and prepared to shoot Sae.

*BAM*

Sae turned to block the bullet with his arm.

Riku prepared his gun and shot, when suddenly Yuki rushed in and blocked the bullet.

"In fear, as well as in pain, she danced high in the skies."

"Well, well, well. If it isn't Kashiwagi-san."

Sae, what was that she just said?

"The death sentence. A spell she reads aloud to awaken her power."

"In this harsh confusion, I've never been overwhelmed. Following the fire that leaves from my body, the light also disappears."

The blood coming from the wound on her hand melted away like sand, and the wound itself disappeared.

She clenched her fist, ready to punch anyone.

"Hmm... It's one of THOSE things, isn't it? Are you a witch, or maybe... some kind of demon?"

"Either way, just let us kill you off already. You're trying too hard."

*BAM*

Kuu shot another bullet, but at light speed, Yuki dodged it, and the bullet scraped some skin off Riku's cheek and cut through some of his hair.

"Hey! Be careful with that!"

"Hey, it wasn't my fault, Ba~k-"

Yuki suddenly appeared from behind, covering up Kuu's mouth. He just let out muffled screams through her hand.

"I have started searching for it again..."

Kuu started squirming more, pulling on Yuki's arm.

"Let him go, damn monster!" Kai aimed at Yuki, but out the corner of her eye, she saw him and quickly disappeared, reappearing in front of him.

"For what?"

He aimed again, and shot quickly. But, she was quicker.

She ran past the direction of the bullet and spun herself behind Kai.

"For eternity."

She succeded a one-inch punch from Kai's back, knocking him to the ground. Kuu and Riku ran to his side, picking him up by both shoulders.

Yuki walked away, and instantly appeared behind Yuko. She turned and met her dark gaze.

"I'll have to give you props for that. It's pretty rare for someone to knock down Kai like that."

"What'ya mean 'pretty rare'?!"

Yuko pulled out a silver knife from her pocket. She aimed toward her chest, but Yuki instantly jumped up into the tree.

When she looked up, she completely disappeared.

"The hell did she go?"

We all looked around, a bit worried about where she'll appear next.

Her voice echoed through the winds.

"The pathway to the moon appears anew..."

Chills started running down my spine, the cold air blowing harder.

"The bad ones and the good ones have the same end. Groaning horribly, they shake like dirty flies."

Yuko released her knife from the tree, it getting stuck once she thrusted it. Now, she was only using her sense of sound to find Yuki.

"Hot blood in such a frail body..."

*WOOSH*

"For you," as she said that, Yuko turned around and was nearly hit by Yuki's fist. She pounded it into the tree, leaving a large dent in it. "There is no tomorrow."

"You're better than I thought," Yuko responded with a snear. "I'm surprised Mayu was able to trick you."

Yuki flinched suddenly, her eyes widening.

"Oh, you didn't know? Mayu was a cyborg created by me. I made her follow Sayaka into your mansion and gather the info I needed. Pretty simple, if you ask
me."

Yuki looked down and clenched her fist.

"Mayu... betrayed me?"

"Now, now, don't think of it that way. Really, it was YOUR fault we had an easier time finding Sae."

She threw another punch at Yuko, successfully hitting her.

"How dare you do such a thing! She was everything to me!"

"She was never real to begin with!"

Yuki pushed her down to the ground, grabbing her wrists, while Yuko tried to punch her and fight back.

Eventually, the boys were able to break up the fight.

"You'll pay, vampires. Let's go."

"But, cap-"

"Let's just go already. We've wasted enough time here."

The others slowly started to walk away, leaving the three of us alone in the dark.

Sae...
End of Sayaka's POV


At the hunter's headquarters, Riku was helping Yuko heal the bruise on her cheek.

Kai and Kuu were healing each others wounds, listening to their conversation.

"What should we do, cap'?"

"Hell, I dunno..."

*BEEP* *BEEP*

Suddenly, a radar goes off on their computer.

"Captain, you need to see this."

"Mm~, not now," she screamed while rubbing her cheek.

Riku walked over and analyed the radar sensors.

"Vampire and demon activity. But, this vampire energy..."

"It can't be Sae. It's completely different from his."

"So, who could it be?"

"Yuko?"

When they turned to Yuko, she was staring at the ground, in a daze.

"O~i! Yuko." Riku ran back and started poking her shoulder. "O~i!"

Suddenly, she grabbed Riku's wrist and glared at him.

"Yuko?"

"Stay out of this, okay? I can take care of that lowly Miyazawa myself. And then... she will be mine."

"'She?' Ya' mean Sayaka?"

Kuu pulled out a picture of her and held it in front of Yuko.

"Sa-ya-ka."

"Hm... Sayaka."

She took the picture of her and kissed it, shocking everyone.

"We will meet... Soon..."

"Yuko! Are you crazy?! I'm your boyfriend!! BOYFRIEND!!!"

Yuko dropped the photo in her hand and blinked a few times.

"Are? What happened?"

"Eh? Yuko was possessed?"

Yuko looked around, still confused about what happened.

"If that's so, who's the new vampire?"

A mysterious figure with spiky silver hair, his bangs covering his left eye, appears on the rooftop of the school at night.

His one red eye shown a bright glare.

"In this eternal time, there are those who wait and those who take action... Those who take action too swiftly will fail..."

He holds out a blood red rose.

"What shall I do?"

"What's so special about this girl?"

A girl with pitch black eyes appeared behind him. She was wearing a silky, wavy black gown and had long black hair.

"Calm down, Rena. She is special, you just don't see it."

He pulls out a picture of Sayaka out of his pocket.

But, it was her from the past. She was wearing a beautiful white dress with white rose accessories.

"She's the most beautiful girl in the world."

"..."

"And, she may hold the key."

Rena's eyes widened at those words.

"You don't mean..."

"The silver rose crystal. The key to eternal rebirth. If I have her, I have the key, and an immortal soul."

"Good luck with that. Since she's been reborn, I've heard she's a pretty rough nut to crack. On top of that, she's with that other vampire, Miyazawa Sae."

Rena was always negative, but he knew better.

Even though vampires are immortal, they can still be murdered. If he had the crystal, he would have all immortality in the palm of his hand.

"Don't worry, I have a plan to break her."

"You always have something going through your head, Jun."

"Trust me. It will work this time."

He had a plan. He was going to make sure he'd get Sayaka where he wanted her.

His name was Jun. Nobunaga Jun.

Chapter 3


Back at the mansion, Sayaka was wrapping gauze around the wound on Sae's arm, finishing up the last knot.

"Sae, are you sure you're okay?"

"Yes, it's just a minor wound."

"But, they're my friends. I could've handled it myself, if I just got some time with them."

Sae smiled at Sayaka, calming her down.

"I told you, I'll be fine. I'll always be right here."

Sayaka looked down and pressed her lips together, clenching her hands together.

"Sae, am I causing you any trouble?"

He sat up, ready to hear what she had to say. He knew deep down Sayaka wouldn't say that unless something REALLY bothered her.

"What is it?"

"I don't want to leave your side, especially if you're hurt. So, I'm scared. What if you-?"

Sae put one finger up to her lips, silencing her.

"You don't need to be afraid. I'll always be with you, and I'll show you everything in the world."

"Everything? That's impossible. I'll become an old woman!"

"It's okay. I can give you eternal life."

"Eh?"

Eternal life. If Sae bit Sayaka and gave her an immortal vampire soul, they would always be together, until the end of time.

Sayaka was a bit surprised by this, since everything was still coming so suddenly to her.

"Eternal life..."

"Sayaka, I want to... I want to make you my bride."

"Eh?! He's proposing?"

"Tonight, I will bite you once more. I will give you eternal life."

He held Sayaka's hands tight and closed his eyes.

When he opened them, he saw a worried look on Sayaka's face.

"Sayaka?"

"I don't care if you're a vampire, but... saying 'bride' is just so... so sudden. I don't care if I myself become a vampire, but..."

She slowly got up and smiled at Sae.

"Can we try to... wait a bit?"

Sae got up from the seat, biting his lower lip. Sayaka turned to him and made eye contact again.

"Listen, I believe in you. We'll be just fine, okay?"

Sae nodded, holding Sayaka's hand again. She slowly brought it up and held his cheek.

"Let's just wait a bit longer... After we graduate high school, I promise. I'll be your one and only bride."

"Understood."

"I gotta go, okay? I don't want Yuko to worry about me."

She kissed Sae's lips one more time before leaving the room.

"Good night."

Sae waved goodbye to her as she left the room.


"Love is within the two of us."

Alone, Sae pours out hidden emotions he cannot express if front of Sayaka. He grasps his chest tightly.

"Even now, it is here."

He slowly walks over and sits back on the couch.

"Our love is... definitly there."

Sae slowly picks up a glass of red wine and drinks it. When he puts it down, his eyes instantly lock on the blue rose, held inside a glass vase.

"Love is not something to chase after... You can't chase it..."

Tears start to swell in Sae's eyes. Somewhere, deep inside of him, he felt something was about to go wrong.

"Even so... My heart, now... feels as if it's breaking..."

He pounds his fist on the table and falls to his knees.

"Why? Why do I feel like this?"

His voice was constantly interrupted by his soft sobbing.

Yuki was watching him from above the balcony. One of the maids, Nakaya, walks over to her.

"Kashiwagi-sama, is something wrong?"

"I can sense it... Someone is about to attain a terrible punishment."


Sayaka's POV
What?

Am I here again?

I feel it... I'm on the ground.

I slowly open my eyes. Instead of grey fire, the fire was now changed to purple.

... But, why?

Wait, where's Sae?

"Sae? Sae!"

I get up off the ground and start shouting his name.

I felt that someone was right behind me.

But, this time, the feeling was different. It wasn't Sae. I turn around and I see a boy who had spiky silver hair, with one black streak in it.

His bangs are covering his left eye...

I wonder why...

His right eye was closed and he was smiling. I also took to account that he was shorter than me.

It was normal for me to be taller than most boys, but something felt...

...Off here.

"Who are you?"

He opened his eye and it shone a bright red.

It pierced through me instantly and I developed a splitting headache.

What the hell is this?

Who is that?

... Sae...


I got up from my sleeping position and sat up in my bed, holding my head in my hand.

"You've awoken, Akimoto-san."

"Eh?"

I turned and saw the mysterious boy again.

His blood red eye shone brightly and pierced deep into my soul. It made me feel strange to be around him.

He must be a vampire...

But, different from Sae somehow.

"Who are you?"

"Nobunaga Jun. Pleased to make your acquaintance, Akimoto-san."

He bowed down, very mature and prince-like, but he had the body of a younger boy.

"Nobunaga...-kun, how is it you know my name?"

"Oh, I know everything about you. I've come to you with a very special request."

This can't be good...

As he walked toward me, I got out of bed and walked behind him.

"What is it?"

"I want... to make you mine."

Huh?!

We turned and faced each other again. He had an evil look in his eye, I could see it.

"I'm sorry, but... I'm already taken!"

I bowed in front of him, trying my best to show absolute respect.

"...Not for long."

Eh?

I looked up at him again, raising myself from my bowing position.

He pulled his bangs behind his ear and opened his left eye.

It shined a powerful blue light that paralyzed me. I backed away slowly until I reached a wall, Jun slowly closing me in.

"Trust me. You will feel much better after this."
End of Sayaka's POV

Sayaka was frozen in her spot, staring deeply into Jun's eyes.

The blue light released waves of light that mesmerized her more, making her senses weak and dull.

"From now on, you will do as I say. As long as you don't resist, I'll be one step closer to my true destiny."

He brought himself up and kissed Sayaka, full liplock.

Sayaka's eyes shined a blood red glow. As it faded, all other light slipped away from her eyes.

She slowly closed them and continued to kiss Jun. Trapped against the wall, she was entered in a full on make-out session with him.

As they parted, Jun's eyes caught her neck and were filled with hunger.

He pulled away her hair, revealing her bare skin. He leaned his head forward and bit her neck deeply, sucking her blood for the first time.

No longer resisting his power, she lets him do as he pleases with her.

As he releases himself from her neck, he raises his head again and stares into Sayaka's eyes. He cups his hands in her face, savoring the sweet warmth of her body.

"Now, before we can continue on with my plans, there's one thing I need you to do."

Jun brought himself up and whispered something into Sayaka's ear.

As he parted from her ear, she nodded without hesitation.

"From now on, I'm all you'll ever need."

He kissed Sayaka deeply again, both of them sharing in another deep moment.

Little did Sayaka and Sae know, Jun was about to unravel a plan that would allow him the power of immortality.

... And, the power to control all mankind.

Chapter 4


Sae's POV
"Sayaka! Sayaka!"

Where could she be?

I was running throughout the halls searching for Sayaka. I saw her this morning and lost her after lunch.

I ran into the classroom and found Yuko and the others.

"Yuko, Kana, Nacchi, have you guys seen Sayaka?"

"No, not sense she left the classroom."

"I saw her down the hall looking for you. She said she had to tell you something."

Eh?

"Did something happen between you two?"

I stared at Yuko and she gave me a glare. Obviously, she still had it in for me.

As I bit my lower lip, the others became a bit impatient.

Then, Sayaka walked in.

"Oh! There she is."

I turned and saw Sayaka, with a serious look on her face.

"Sayaka! You don't know how long I've been looking fo-"

"Miyazawa-kun."

My eyes widened at her sudden cold voice. I also noticed her eyes were dark and lifeless, absolutly no light reflected in them.

"...Eh? 'Miyazawa-kun'?"

"Miyazawa-kun, we need to talk. Alone."

Yuko suddenly came through the two of us.

"Sayaka! Look, we all know how close you are with Sae, and the other students. So, we all understand your feelings toward Sae. So go ahead and say it, right here, right now."

Sayaka looked at Yuko for a moment, then stared at me again.

"Miyazawa-kun..."

I gulped loudly, prepared for whatever she had to say.

"I want to break up with you, Miyazawa-kun."

*BA-BUMP*

Eh?

The room went absolutely silent, everyone staring at Sayaka.

"But, why?"

Sayaka took my wrist suddenly and pulled me out into the hallway. She dragged me over to a part of the school where no one could see or hear us.

The Light Music club room.

"Sayaka... why do you want to break up?"

"I... can't trust you anymore."

*BA-BUMP*

"I have my entire future to think about, and I can't risk being around you too much anymore. It was great while it lasted, but... I have someone I can really
trust now."

My heart started aching more and more. Sayaka's honest feelings were cold and pierced through my heart like ice.

"You... replaced me..?"

"He truly understands how I feel. Unlike him, you always rush too fast and are too overprotective."

"That's not true! I LOVE YOU!!!"

My eyes overflowed with tears and I yelled louder and louder. Sayaka's lifeless eyes showed almost no emotion.

"If I did something wrong, I'm sorry. Just... give me another chance! I thought that we were gonna be together, forever-"

"I don't care about you anymore, okay?!"

*BA-BUMP*

I backed away from Sayaka, my whole body going weak and aching.

"We can still be friends... I just don't want to be like this anymore."

She turned around and slowly opened the door.

"Goodbye, Miyazawa-kun. I'll see you in class."

As she closed the door, I fell to my knees, gripping my chest tightly. My chest has never hurt so much in my life.

This was the feeling of losing love. I had that sensation come over me all over again.

I cried loudly, all my emotions pouring out and my heart tearing at the seams.

"Saya.. ka..."

She had told me I was useless to help her. As her friend. And, even as her lover. Those were my only thoughts.


School ended and I was sitting at my desk alone, laying my head on my crossed arms.

"A-ano... Sae-kun..."

I looked up and saw two girls talking to me.

"Ano, we were wondering if you were free tonight. Maybe, we could hang out together or..."

"No."

I turned my head away, staring down at the ground.

"No! It's not like that. It's just, we could do it as friends, since..."

"I said I don't want to!"

I suddenly raised my voice, startling them a bit.

Damn it. Why did that ever happen in the first place?

I suddenly felt a hand touch my back, stroking it slightly. I turned my head and saw it was Yuko.

...Yuko!

What?

"Guys, do you think you could give Sae some time alone for a while? He's still trying to get over... y'know..."

"Oh, right. Sorry, Sae-kun."

The two girls bowed and walked out, leaving me and Yuko alone.


"Thanks, Yuko... I hope that we can at least... still try to be friends."

Yuko turned to me and gave me a gentle smile. She knelt down and faced me.

"How about this, Sae-chan. Let's call off our duel for a bit, and see if we can get your ol' Sayaka-chan back, 'kay?"

I thought it through for a bit, then it came to where Yuko was really trying to help.

She was Sayaka's closest friend, and mine, too. Despite her being a hunter, she stayed true to her heart and offered everything to help.

"Okay. We'll try."

I got up and smiled at Yuko.

"Y'know, even if you are a hunter sworn on destroying me, you've always had such a kind heart."

We shared a laugh for a bit, until the other boys rushed in.

"Yuko! What're you doing?!"

"Remember, he's our ENEMY!"

Yuko put on her serious face again and walked over to her friends.

"Guys, I'm calling off our little hunting game for a bit. We need to help Sae get Sayaka back."

"Eeehh?!?!"

Kai then reminded the others that they broke up for some reason.

"Ah, that's right. Why would Sayaka do that anyways?"

"Even though Sae's a vampire, they were, admittedly, a cute couple."

Riku, you really thought that?

"It's not like her to change her mind so unexpectedly. Something, or someone, must have changed her mind? ... But, what?"

Kuu's eyes caught something outside and he instantly ran to the window.

"Guys! You might wanna see this."

We all turned and ran to the window.

We saw a mysterious young man waiting outside the schoolyard. He was wearing a different school uniform than us and had silver hair, like me.

"Who the heck is that?"

"You guys don't think this guy's the... y'know?"

Something must have happened with the others yesterday. Maybe they thought whoever this person was was actually a vampire.

I wasn't sure myself, but he fitted the image perfectly.

... Mainly because he looked somewhat like me.

"Hey, there's Sayaka!"

Sayaka was just walking out of school. She saw the mysterious boy and waved at him.

"It couldn't be..."

My heart started pounding faster, my stomach aching with anxiety.

Sayaka ran closer to him, a smile now covered her face. She hugged the boy tightly, him hugging her back.

"He couldn't..!"

They parted from the hug and deeply kissed each other.

*BA-BUMP*

My heart skipped a beat at that sight. It was true.

Sayaka replaced her feelings for me...

... With someone with a more mysterious aura than mine.

Yuko and the others decided to check on Sayaka, and try to find a reason why she broke up with Sae.

Since Sae was staying home at his mansion, they'll have to gather as much info as they can.

When they got to her house, they didn't see anyone else in the house.

"Maybe he's hiding."

"We don't know that. Maybe, she really is alone. Maybe, we just dreamt what we saw earlier."

Everyone just gave Riku a glare that said, "What?" Riku was known to burst out dumb things every once in a while.

"Or he's hiding?"

Kai sighed and walked over to the door.

*KNOCK KNOCK*

"Come in!"

Yuko and the others walked in through the living room, into the kitchen, where Sayaka was working on some lyrics.

"Guys?"

"Sayaka, what happened?"

She looked up at them, a confused look on her face.

"Why the hell did you break up with Sae? You two were so good together."

"Oh, that. I didn't think you cared since all you care about in the world is killing the walking dead."

Yuko's eyes widened and lifted her eyebrow.

"That was harsh!"

"Sayaka, you can tell us the truth. We're your friends."

Sayaka looked up at Kuu, startling him a bit.

The way she looked up was... cute. And, Sayaka was RARELY cute. He knew that.

They ALL knew that.

Not only that, he swore he saw her eyes glow red a bit. Nobody else seemed to notice, but Kuu's reation told them that something was really wrong.

"Look, sure Sae and I had it good for a bit, but I just couldn't trust him anymore."

"God dammit, you must be crazy!"

"Yuko!"

She looked at Yuko with a surprised look on her face.

"I thought my best friend would have a BIT more trust in me."

Yuko was put in an awkward position, so she slowly got up and backed away.

"Maybe, she really is in love with someone else," Riku whispered.

"Ite!"

Sayaka suddenly shouted, startling everyone a bit.

"Damn, paper cut."

"Ah! Sayaka, you're bleeding!"

Kai walked over and quickly raised her hand up.

"I'll go get something to help this."

As he was about to walk away, someone suddenly took her hand out of his, as if he came out of nowhere.

"Please, allow me."

He turned his head and saw a blood red eye lock on him. His smile was devious, but subtle and gentle.

It was Jun.

He took Sayaka's finger and lightly sucked off the blood from it. Everyone's jaws dropped, staring straight at the mysterious young man.

As he finished, he smiled at Sayaka, bringing each other in a big hug.

"Oh my god, Sayaka."

Sayaka gave another confused look again.

"What?"

"What-do you think-you're doing?"

"And, who-is that?"

Everyone stared at Riku again, after he slightly mimicked Yuko's little act.

"This is Nobunaga Jun, my boyfriend."

"B-boyfriend?!"

"We met last night. He goes to a private school in Nagoya, and he's really nice."

"If you had to ask me, I'd say that I was very... VERY lucky to meet someone like Sayaka-san."

They wrapped each other around again in a deep kiss. As they parted, Sayaka's eyes glowed red again, now that everyone could see.

Jun looked at everyone from the corner of his eye.

"You got a problem?"

Riku, his mouth wide open, was trying to mouth out the right words.

Kuu uncovered his mouth and finished for him.

"Uh... no, uh... we just needed a real reason why Sayaka broke up with Sae was all..."

"This again? Seriously?"

She walked up to Yuko, putting her hand on her shoulder.

"Look, I already told you, I can't really trust Sae anymore. Jun's the only one I can really trust, so if you have a problem with it, you'll just have to bear with."

Yuko looked down for a bit, clenching her fist.

"Can you please just... let this slide for a bit?"

Yuko pressed her lips together and let out a huge sigh.

Then, when she looked back at Jun, she started noticing something strange. She continued to stare at him, her expression having a mixture of confusion and curiosity.

"Wait! It can't be!"

Her eyes fliched suddenly, beginning to examine him more.

"This person... Could he be..?"

Suddenly, Riku grabbed her hand again, making her turn her head to him.

"Maybe it's best that we go."

"Yeah, we should leave these to alone and work on something ourselves, right?"

Yuko turned back to Sayaka, more confused than ever.

"Yeah... right..."

"Sorry for intruding." Kuu slapped Kai on the shoulder a bit. "What?"

As they walked out, Yuko turned her head back and watched Sayaka go over the lyrics again.

Once Yuko shut the door, she stopped in her tracks.

"I've figured it out."

The other three turned to her as they started walking down the stairs.

"Nobunaga Jun... he's a half."

"Eh?"

"You mean like Sae?"

Yuko turned back and faced the door.

"He's a vampire, but... he was also born with demon blood."

"Demon?!"

"He must have covered up his left eye because it contains most of his demon powers. I saw through just enough to see the color. He must of put Sayaka under a spell."

"And that's why she dumped Sae?"

Yuko nodded, now turning back and walking down the stairs.

"But, it'll be difficult. Since he's a half, he may be more powerful than we think. It had to be a really powerful spell if it was able to change Sayaka completely."

So many new thoughts had filled her head. And, there were still so many questions left.

Who is Jun really? And, what does he want with Sayaka?

Side Story 3


It had already been a long day for the others, so Yuko decided to hang out with Riku for a bit.

Even though they were dating, they never really did things together as a couple. So, they thought they'd try going on a real date.

It was late at night and they were sitting at the park together.

They were completely silent and took in all the view of the park.

"Nee, Riku."

Yuko's voice broke the silence of the park.

"Do you remember the first time we met?"

"How could I forget?"

"You don't remember, do you?"

Riku got a bit annoyed and slightly pushed her shoulder.

"No, I do. Believe me."

She thought it out a bit and asked him, "If you do, tell me everything that happened when we met. In-detail."

Riku smiled at Yuko, making her a bit impatient.

"OK."


Flashback
They first met each other 4 years ago.

Riku was walking home from school, alone. He was a part of his school's astronomy club, and loved looking at the stars.

One night, while he was literally staring off into space, mysterious cat aliens had surrounded him.

"What the-? What the hell are these things?"

They each attacked him, and each time, he quickly dodged. It kept going like that until one finally tackled him.

He felt he was done for, as they all led up for one final attack.

*BAM* *BAM* *BAM*

"Huh?"

Random gunshots went off and killed three of the cat creatures.

Yuko stepped out from the shadows and shot down the last one instantly. She picked up the lifeless bodies and placed them each in seperate containers.

"You okay?"

"Uh, yeah... Do you normally hunt these kinds of... aliens?"

"Ghosts, ghouls, monsters, aliens. Anything you can name in those categories, yes. Most recently, it's only been aliens."

"Uh-huh. Is there something you WANT to hunt down?"

She turned her head to him, lifting her eyebrow slightly. Then she looked up a bit and smiled.

"I want to someday find a real vampire!"

"I see..."

"I'm Yuko. Oshima Yuko."

"Kojima Riku."


About a year later, Yuko was able to have her first real vampire case.

Unfortunatly, the vampire was her former partner, Atsuko. Kai and Kuu were also in on the case.

It was hard for them because Yuko and Atsuko were really close, and Kai was her boyfriend.

But, she no longer cared.

She attacked her friends, trying to take their lives, and didn't feel remorse.

"Atsuko! It's me, Yuko, remember?!"

Her voice was no longer able to reach her.

Atsuko, the sweet, childish, and calming girl who always put Yuko in a good mood, her only partner, was gone.

"Of course I remember you. You're my prey."

She attacked Yuko again, just close to biting her neck.

"I can't do it! I can't kill Atsuko!"

She was completely pinned down by her newly transformed partner. As she felt herself get closer to the edge of death, a sudden gunshot goes off.

"Eh? What the-?"

*BAM* *BAM*

"Argh! Grr..."

A tall figure stepped out, holding a silver stake in his hand.

It was Riku.

As Atsuko ran toward him, about to pounce and bite him, he held the stake right at her.

*SQUISH*

The stake went right through her chest, stabbing her at the heart.

"I'm sorry, Yuko..."

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!"

Atsuko screamed in pain before pulling out the stake and throwing it to the ground, breaking it. She instantly fell to her knees and rolled over to the ground.

Yuko rushed to her side. She grabbed her shoulders and cried over her body.

The sight of her best friend, so pale and cold, broke her heart into pieces.

She slowly started raising her hand to hold Yuko's cheek.

"I-I'm... sorry... Yu-k-ko... This is... all my... f-fault..."

Her hand dropped to the ground and every last ounce of blood left her body. Her body became completely white, and, eventually, turned to dust and disappeared into thin air.

Yuko grabbed the dust blowing in the breeze and held herself tightly, crying over what had been her best friend.

She wailed in agony, the others surronding her and trying to comfort her.


Back at the headquaters, Riku saw Yuko crunched into a ball on the ground.

He slowly walked to her and sat down beside her.

"Yuko... I'm so sorry."

Her cheeks were still red from crying and wet from her tears, but her eyes were dark and emotionless.

"Yuko, talk to me."

"..."

Riku backed away from her a bit, looking up at the ceiling. Everything at that moment was silent.

"Sanbyou mitsumeru dake de♪   Otoshite miseyou ka♪   Omae no ai nante♪   Ore no omoi doori sa~♪    "

Yuko looked up at him, completely lost in the sound of his voice.

"You're really good, Kojima-kun."

"Eh?"

Kai and Kuu were suddenly by his side.

"You write that song yourself?"

"Uh, yeah... You like it?"

"Yeah. Yuko writes a lot of songs, too."

"We're all in a band together. You should join with us."

Yuko's eyes widened, walking up and slapping Kai in the shoulder.

"What?!"

"Don't you think it might be a bit of a risk? He's still a rookie."

"Hmm... Okay, but if you feel you wanna join, just come to us, okay?"

"Un."

As they walked off, Yuko leaned over against his shoulder. She kept apoligizing to Riku until he patted her head and started singing again.

She slowly fell asleep in his arms, sharing that one perfect moment together.
End of flashback


Yuko giggled a bit, hearing her boyfriend telling the story in such a sweet way.

"Ka~npeki!"

"See, I told you."

They shared a laugh over their precious memory. Then, Yuko leaned up against him again, complementing his calming scent.

"Thank you, Riku."

She fell asleep in Riku's arms again, deep in her own little dream world.

He smiled over his sleeping girlfriend, and carried her home in his arms, softly singing the same melody he sang in the past.

Chapter 5


Yuko was just walking into the classroom, watching Sayaka sitting all alone at her desk.

Sae walked up behind her and watched with her.

Her serious expression from yesterday had gone far away, replaced by a cute, girly smile. She was doodling in her spare notebook and humming SKE songs.

This was the first time they've seen Sayaka act so... girly.

"Is it true? Is Sayaka really... under a spell?"

"It's highly possible."

Sae thought back to when Sayaka said she didn't care about him anymore. He felt the urge to cry and slightly pressed his lips together.

"...You know, you can at least talk to her."

He looked back at Yuko, biting his lower lip as he thought through. He let out a huge breath and walked closer to her.

As he slowly came up, he felt something shift in his heart, telling him something was wrong.

"Gomen ne, summer♪   Mabushii♪   Sono yokogao wo mitetara♪"

Sae tapped her shoulder slightly, no response.

He tapped it more firmly the second and Sayaka turned her head to him.

"Miyazawa..."

"Sayaka... I'm worried about you."

Sayaka got up from her seat and faced him, slightly tilting her head.

"What do you mean?"

"Don't act like you don't know! It's about Jun!"

Some of the students started turning over to them as Sae raised his voice.

"I don't trust him. I think he's just using you."

"Really, Miyazawa? We break up yesterday, just one day ago, and you're already going to this resort?"

As Sae looked down, Sayaka looked over and saw Yuko again. She brought herself over and whispered to Sae.

"Y'know, I've noticed for a while that Yuko's been giving you the eye. Since I've moved on, maybe it's best you move on, too."

As Sayaka talked about Yuko more, Sae's heart overwhelmed with a feeling he rarely ever encountered. Especially toward Sayaka.

Anger.

"Give her a chance. I'm sure you two will be all in in no ti-"

*SLAP*


Sae's POV
The room went silent. The slap came without warning and Sayaka couldn't hide the surprised reaction from her face.

Her head slowly turned back to me, eyes widened more than ever.

"He did something to you! I don't care what it was, but I'm worried about you!! Why the hell can't you see that?!"

Sayaka touched her cheek a bit, then tightened her hand a bit.

She suddenly walked out the room without saying a word.

As she left the classroom, I walked back out and tried calling out to her. She wouldn't respond, so I tried using my telepathy.

Please, Sayaka. Let's just try and talk.

Still no response. She got farther and farther, so I tried walking toward her and called out to  more.

Sayaka! Talk to me!

"...Help me."

Eh? What did she say?

"Sae... help. Please!"

"I know you're right behind me, Miyazawa!"

This was something I've never experienced before. Sayaka was acting like she had two minds. The one I was just communicating with still needs me.

"Sae... It's Jun... You need to stop him, please!"

End of Sae's POV


"Sae-chan, what happened?"

"She's still in there."

Yuko had hope brought back in her eyes. She was relieved there was a way to still reach her.

"I need to get her alone. It's the only way I can save her."

She held her chin a moment and thought of a plan.

"I have an idea."


At lunch, Yuko was able to find her alone and sat beside her.

"Nee, nee, Sayaka-chan!"

"N, Yuko?"

"Nee, Sayaka-chan, Sae wanted to ask you if you wanted to hang out in the park tonight. He really needs to talk to you alone."

She thought about it for a bit, then gulped down her soda.

"Fine. If I have to, then I guess I can try."

"Promise?"

Yuko held out her pinky finger in front of her. Sayaka hesitated slightly, but eventually wrapped her pinky around it.

"Promise."

"You have big hands, y'know?"

The two laughed a little over their little conversation, not knowing who was watching from above.

Sae was checking up on Yuko, lucky to have a way to get Sayaka back, while, on the roof of the building, Jun was spying on Sayaka and Sae himself.


Later that night, Sae was waiting for Sayaka at the park, wearing a beautiful white suit.

He was starting to get impatient, and a bit worried.

After some time past, he started hearing footsteps and saw a walking figure in the shadows.

"Sayaka!"

A single red light glowed in the distance. As the figure got closer, it became shorter, and more masculine.

The figure stepped out of the shadows, revealing his whole complection. He was wearing a black cloak with silver lining and black leather pants and boots.

Not Sayaka, but Jun.

"So, you're Miyazawa Sae? Don't look like much."

"You're... Nobunaga Jun."

We walked closer to him and held out a red rose, lightly sniffing it.

"Nobunaga...-kun, what did you do with Sayaka?"

He deviously looked up at him and smiled.

"It was a bit difficult to make contact with her at first, but," he said as he tucked his bangs behind his ear, revealing his left eye, "it became quite easy to make her submit."

"I knew it. This is your fault. Why do you want her?"

"She was something that could be of great use to me."

Jun suddenly threw the rose at the fountain. The stem stuck to the water and froze the fountain.

He took a large icicle and made it into a sword.

"This wouldn't be a fair fight if you didn't use a sword."

Sae pulled out the blue rose from his pocket and it instantly turned into a sword.

He kissed the back of the blade and ran his fingers through it, giving it a shining glow.

"Here's the deal, Nobunaga. If I win, I want Sayaka back to normal."

"... Fine. But, if I win, I get to keep her all to myself."

They nodded to each other, both waiting to see who would make the first move. There was a long silence.

Sae felt the movements of Jun's feet, preparing to attack.

As he rushed to him, he blocked the attack with his sword. Each came close to stabbing each other, and each time, it was blocked.

A heated battle raged on while Yuko and her hunter gang secretly watched in the bushes.

"Yuko, they seem pretty evenly matched. Maybe, we should..."

"No."

Yuko suddenly cut her boyfriend off, covering his mouth.

"There's something wrong here. I can just feel it."


Eventually, they led each other into a huge clash, shattering the ice sword and returning the rose sword back into the beautiful blue rose.

Sae sat up from the ground, wiping off the sweat from his forehead.

Jun, blood shedding from his mouth, slowly got up and smiled.

"I guess it's a draw, then..."

"... Not for long."

He snapped his fingers, the sound echoing through the silence of the park.

Slowly, Sae saw another figure slowly walking through the shadows.

He saw it in his eyes. The red glow in her eyes, the long beautiful hair, the perfect figure. It was definitely, unmistakably her.

"Sayaka?"

As he got up from the ground, Sayaka slowly stepped out of the shadows and stopped a few feet behind them.

Sae ran up to hug her, when she suddenly pulled out a silver knife to his neck.

Terror filled his eyes, stopping right in his tracks.

"Sayaka... No."

Jun walked over behind her and caressed her cheek.

"Sorry, bucko. She's all mine, now."
