I'm not sure if this is the right place for this but maybe someone here knows what's going on.

Last night my computer shut itself down in a really unusual manner. Right before it happened I noticed the fans running unusually quiet, then suddenly my display just cut off. I turned the system off and back on, but the same thing happened again right away--fans got real quiet then auto reboot with no display. I checked the BIOS to monitor the fan speed: not only were the RPMs going down, but also one of the voltage readings, specifically the +12v. Basically the system doesn't seem to be receiving power properly, and I can't figure out why.

My PSU is fairly new, having bought it 2 months ago; it's 450w and made by Shuttle, who seems to have a good reputation for PSUs from what I've read. The rest of my specs are on the previous page. As much as I hope it's not a PSU problem since I just bought the thing, I really hope it's not a mobo problem because that would be an even bigger headache to alleviate.

Any help would be appreciated.

So yeah, I took care of this more than two weeks ago already, but my problem was solved by deciding to just do away with Shuttle (and their proprietary game) altogether and replace it with this:

Apevia X-QPack2 case (comes with 500w PSU) and ASUS M4A785-M motherboard.

Still sticking with a SFF-like case (because fuck normal midtowers ), but this thing takes standard mATX motherboards and standard ATX power supplies, which means if anything goes wrong or needs replacing/upgrading from here on out I can easily remedy the problem due to more parts being immediately available to me. I thought about holding out or ordering online for a green or black case, but the silver still looks nice when brand new and in person (especially compared to the floor display model at Fry's, which is scratched and worn like crazy :P ). This also means I now have potential for a new quad-core CPU, up to 16GB of RAM, and a bigger/stronger video card. Hell, even my current video card has benefitted from the switch, seeing as it's a PCIe 2.0 card and the old Shuttle mobo is just PCIe 1.0: not only do my games run a bit more stable now, but before I couldn't increase the clocks via ATI Overdrive without crashing the display drivers (and not even in-game either), and now I've been running close to max clocks and have yet to see any artifacts.

Also, bigger fans means quieter system, though because of my final experiences with the Shuttle I still get paranoid when I hear the new fans slowly wind down. :nervous I wanna replace them with green LED fans sometime in the future. Also, front LCD temp readings are a nice bonus; I'm not too sure if the readings are perfectly accurate, but I suppose it can serve as a good indicator/warning system.

Of course, the whole mobo installation process reminded me of why I bought a Shuttle barebones in the first place. :P But the headache of that process is well worth going through for the end result.

The new mobo means the front Firewire port and floppy disk reader part of my card/floppy combo drive are pretty much useless (no onboard connectors for them), but it's not like I use those things anymore anyway. Now, what to do with the spare 5.25" drive bay and PCIe x1 slot...

I got a little freezing problem with my PC.   Whenever my PC is on, I would always have something running in the bg, utorrent to download,  then I would either web surf, watch streaming videos online or just watch a downloaded video, Multitasking, if you will.  Frequently, too often, the one of those, or all, would temporary freezes, just that program, though, I can still move my cursor, view existing programs.  It would return to normal within a minute or 2.  sometimes, if it gets too long, then I will need to go to Task Manager to force close a program.

I dunno what's the problem,  is it's a slow processor?  too little memory?  a slow HDD?
I can get more RAM if needed.  capacity is 32GB.

What should I do?

my mobo is capable of 7.1 surround sound, however it's not like I have alot of speakers connecting to my pc.
then I look up optical audio cable.  if I connect that to my AV receiver, which is connected to many speakers, will I be able to get the most out of the Optical audio cable/Toslink?  how's the quality, compared to several 3.5mm jack speakers?

...

Pretty neat setup you got there, will probably cost alot (aka too much for me :D)

"SSD: 120gb Corsair Force 3"
Personally I would wait till next year and see if the SSD prices go down a bit but that's just me.

If you're going SSD, at least get an Intel. Better reliability than the rest and acceptable performance.
