This is nice. I especially like the first song...

The Peanuts - Cover Hits ~Naomi no Yume~ (1999.05.28)

04 さすらいのギター      / Sasurai no Guitar
05 結婚しようよ      / Kekkon Shiyou yo
06 手紙         / Tegami
07 四つのお願い      / Yottsu no Onegai
08 許されない愛      / Yurusa Renai Ai

15 愛の泉         / Ai no Izumi
16 終着駅         / Shuuchakueki

It's a collection of covers originally recorded in 1970/71, but never released originally(I think?), and released for the first time in 1999.
In 320.

There's a companion volume to this one, released at the same time, called "Cover Hits ~Watashi no Joukamachi~" (カヴァー・ヒッツ わたしの城下町).
Does anyone have it?
Also "Nippon Housou da yo Peanuts" (ニッポン放送だよ ピーナッツ!) is a collection of radio recordings.  I'd love to hear it if anyone's got it.

I'm deep in a rabbit hole on The Tube, checking out the great pop stuff of the 70s. Currently stuck on Noguchi Goro reprising some of his hits. The dude is pushing sixty and can still hit them high notes.

I couldn't do this unless I rested my voice for a week and drank nothing stronger than herbal tea. Which, of course, will NEVER happen. Karaoke is all about blowing your high end after a few songs and then drinking enough to punch in something even sillier after that.

This is a little bit different, but a lot of fun, as talented Yoko Aramaki / 荒牧陽子 is joined by the various singers
to whom she pays tribute.

The audience, and the celebrity guests get pretty excited about some of the singers who grace the stage.

I can tell you one thing. This kind of sound is very popular in North Korea. I know it's a little off topic, but it reminds me so much of some of those old songs from some of the movies of the DPRK and old records.

I'm tempted to post the sites I found of Showa era music, but I"m afraid that it's not from a trusted site? It's from a russian site and a less commonly used file sharing website. Am I allowed to post it?

The link ^ that you posted mentions the school that she later established.
She is an artist with many skills it appears.

Another recording

Date of birth: 1927年3月21日

From the secondary description of the song , which is called 'Memoir',
It might be connected to

90.メモワール <「まんが世界昔ばなし」テーマ曲集>   試聴
Memoir- Manga Sekai Mukashibanashi

Manga World Folk Tales" (cartoon world folk tales) was broadcast on TBS series TV anime. Broadcast period is broadcast from October 7, 1976 March 28, 1979. All 127 times.

So you could try to communicate with TBS?

Not much you can do but keep searching on the Internet, using Japanese and English. Once in a while, someone who owns old collections
will post the music that they have here, but that is not very often, but maybe on the Internet someone has posted that exact song.

Good luck to you and happy hunting!

Remember that Aku Yu TV biopic starring all the H!P gals as Seventies pop idols? I remember scoffing the whole lot o' them, including Suzuki Airi as Sakurada Junko.

Welp I just came across and... yanno, I think Airi was a kinda good fit.

Better than Aichan and Gaki as Pink Lady, at least...
