Looks like Mika's page on her record label's website has been redone. Picture I haven't seen before, it's quite big. Makes for a mighty fine wallpaper too

So after a year and a half of nothing happening in this thread, I thought I'd bump it. Today marks 5 years since Mika's final performance with minimoni. I looked at my Mika plushie today and remembered how important today is.

My Mika story: Didn't care too much for Coconuts Musume at the time. Then when she joined Mini Moni, it was like fuck! she was a whole new person. Good to see her develop into a funloving victim of Aibon and Nono's pranks. Here's hoping she does more live shows!

My Mika story: So I'm cruising around Wikipedia back in the day and the article on this random J-pop group catches my attention. Why? Besides their gimmick of being small, one member happens to be an American of mixed race, and I thought she looked cute. I couldn't find much more information on her, though, and I wasn't ready at the time to deal with learning more about this kid-oriented pop act...until Ayaka's Surprise English Lessons sucked me in. With Mika popping up randomly in these videos I decided to look more into how she got started and what she accomplished, and things just kept going from there.
Favorite thing(s) about Mika: She further proves my personal notion that mixed Asian girls are hot.

She also has one hell of a singing voice, putting it on display in later Minimoni songs and jazz performances.
Favorite Mika song: Crazy About You...I would've picked the 7Air song but she barely shows up in both the original and Minimoni verson (though she does look pretty damn good in the PV).
Favorite H!P group with Mika: Minimoni

Other comments: I wanna see her give music another shot and diversify her portfolio beyond H!P. I'm not a fan of soft jazz but she could certainly get me to pay more attention.

My Mika story: When I decided to learn more about Mini Moni, I got to learn about Mika, and eventually to Coconuts Musume. Although, I remembered a news story about a girl group going to Japan but never followed up on it. Although Mika speaking both English and Japanese actually led in with some lame jokes like "sonna banana"

Same here, but no reply.

But she has been replying like crazy to other people since last night; seems she's really excited to see how many fans she still has after all this time.

It also seems like she's trying to get in touch with the old gang: she's following Lehua, Aibon, Ayaya, and Tsunku, and a few blog update accounts that she thought were the real deal.

She also says she hasn't spoken to Ayaka in years but wants to change that.

Meanwhile, in Pasadena...
