I really liked the 1st one. I hope this one is a s good, but tbh the monsters in this one are a bit too out there

saw it on friday, it was pretty badass. If you liked the first one, you wont be disappointed. While the plot was on the unoriginal side, the action more than makes up for it. and of course AMAZING creature design, I've never seen shit like this, del torro's imagination is uncanny.

I say see it, it was a great summer blockbuster

Best movie EVER.
It was soooooo amazing, it's right on par with the first one, maybe even a little bit better.
I had to watch parts of it through my fingers though, it's not so much scary as...jumpy? And I'm a wimp so that probably doesn't apply to most people.
The character design and animation was STUNNING, absolutely amazing and you really got the chance to relate to the characters, which to me is the key to a great movie, being able to get inside a characters head.
BTW I totally had a crush on the prince, best villain in history if you ask me.

IMHO, I preferred the first one more than this second movie. I left the theater with a *shrug the shoulder* kind of impression.

I think after dealing with the darker 1st episode, I yearned for them to follow through with an even grittier story.

Metaphorically in my mind it was akin to making a lighthearted and 60% joke-filled Batman movie (something I personally never want). What I really want is an increasing darkness of the soul and fighting. It was just too much of a switch for my taste.

Doing that with...let's say.... the MIB movies was acceptable since the character/storyline was never neck deep in remorse, but with Hellboy..I mean..c'mon it's Hellboy. Have some sappy/funny moments, but never more than 50% of the movie should be like that.

As for the fighting...I did not realize Hellboy could move that huge arm of his that fast!!!!

I'd like to go see this myself. Liked the first movie and loved Pan's Labryinth's fantasy settings and creatures which Hellboy II seems to go way overboard in, which is what I like to see! lol

Oh and Ron Perlman is Hellboy. Perfect for the role.
