i just watched it... wow... storyline aside... the colours used and the battle scenes sure was good... a change from the un-manly men that are walking around these days..  :P

well, i'd just say that the society today does have a fairly strong dose of estrogen and thus effect everybody, guys included =p ; i don't think it's entirely the men's choice/fault to be 'un-manly' (if manly means the traditional beast-like 'macho-isms')

That said, i still think that hero movies like this one kick all of our balls everyone once in awhile; which could be healthy too  ;D, since as human beings, we have and need both of those sides  (And for getting/impressing/pleasing the ladies:  we guys got to have them both too; the primal macho-gorilla & the perfect gent...wouldn't you ladies all say so  ;)

I thought the movie was okay... I liked the battle scenes, but the sex and the rock music wasn't that necessary for the movie.

Great film. Bit too much talking about honor and strength.

Funny, the king of sparta was such a strong and tall guy, but when Xerxes stood behind him :dizzy:

Who the hell is the actor? Must be a basketballer or something.

I ended up seeing this a few weeks ago but never got around to posting about it XD

Honestly, I thought it was way overrated. I kept hearing all these great things about it, but I just didn't like it as much as everybody else. But oh, it was completely worth seeing anyway.

GERARD BUTLER :luvluv1: He was hot in Dracula 2000 and Phantom of the Opera, but he was...I don't think I even have a word to describe how fantastic he looked.

I was hoping he would break into song at some point in the movie  :p

personally i couldn't stand the visual effect or whatever it had (seemed like the brightness was too high or the contrast or something) and i wasn't aware that the spartan army wore speedo's...which wouldn't have been so bad except they always had to focus on their abs - me and my friend (we actually walked out of the movie) were joking afterwards that the only reason they showed breasts was to make up for an entire movie of half-naked men  :wahaha:

Rodrigo Santoro...He's not really that tall, it's just movie magic (they modulated his voice to make it deeper, too)  ;)

just downloaded it from somewhere on the net.. 1st time i saw this movie... worgh.. awesome man.. really shock with the fighting style.. cool.. even lotr lose to this, man.. love the piercing effect.. blood spilling around.. and the scene where head drop down.. yaits.. great.. seem like so real.. love it..

Hmmm... I think the allegations of this being "gay porn" is a bit overstated. Wasn't the film direction mirroring the graphic novel frame by frame just like in Sin City? If anything, any sexual message contained in this movie constantly revolved around the beautiful being ravished by the beasts i.e. the oracle by the temple dudes, Leonida's wife by Theron, and of course the little hunchback having a great time in Xerxes' tent! >:D

1) GLADIATORS WERE NOT WHITE SKINNED, BLOND HAIR, BLUE EYES
2)  THEY HAD TAN TO DARK SKIN, WOOLEY HAIR, 
3)  WHY DO YOU PEOPLE BELIEVE EVERY DAMN MOVE YOU SEE?
