SuPearls became a famous group on the singing contest Kpop Star. The current group signed by YG consists of contestants Lee Ha Yi, Lee Seung Joo, Lee Jung Mi and Michelle Lee. Lee Ha Yi was signed to replace the original SuPearls member Park Ji Min who won the competition and chose to join JYPE, thus unable to join the group. Lee Ha Yi was the runner up on the show.
Their debut is planned for September 2012!
Performance of FAME (with Park Ji Min instead of Lee Ha Yi)
Lee Ha YiGood Bye Baby with Park Ji Min
Rolling in the Deep
Mercy
- Placed 2nd in Kpop Star
- Topped the online voting for the show for 6 consecutive weeks
- Known for looking like she has no energy in person, until it's time to sing
Lee Seung JooNo solo perf vids
But this is awesome
- Was pretty much ignored in the edit of the show until the formation of SuPearls. SuPearls is lucky for both us and her because she deserves attention
Lee Jung Mi(on the right)
Video where, if I recall correctly, JYP asks why she chose the song she did, she says because she had to transfer schools cuz friends were giving her a hard time for being on the show. JYP is giving her criticism for not conveying emotions in her singing. (I don't remember what the comments after the main performance say.)
- Considers herself the ordinary looking SuPearl
- Made me cry on the show by showing courage at an opportune moment. JYP, YG and SME were choosing their 'wild cards' to progress forward on the show. At the end of their selection, judge BoA still had one card left, but since the selection was over and the contestants had failed to impress her, it seemed the card would remain unused. Everyone was feeling defeated and was ready to leave the stage, it was thought to be all over. But at the last moment, this girl raised her arm in the back row and asked to sing one more time for BoA's card. She was successful. I don't know why I found it so emotional, maybe knowing that she was bullied but still had the courage to follow her dreams, and then had the courage to step up when she realized that it's not over till it's over. I admire her guts.
Lee Michelle At first a Korean song, then Halo at 3:20
- Biracial Korean, father is black.
- There was some drama about her attitude being bad because she developed problems with her throat, but was still talking and messing about, as if she wasn't taking resting seriously. But it's obvious that she loves singing.

Looking forward to the debut of an obviously talented vocal group :3
Might they be the younger Brown Eyed Girls?? Who knows.
Anyone else intrigued by the SuPearls?
